Hey, Tormey. Why haven't you given a public statement on the coronavirus? What're you doing to ensure the health and safety of the community? Where're the hand sanitzers in the threads?!

Mori, mori, mori, mori... Hello, YCM! I'm Damian Thorne. I'm actually a returning user from Ye Olden Days of YCM being active under a different name. I'd rather not say who I was, but I can give my old handle if asked. Some things about me: – My current favorite things to watch are JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Naruto, and EmpLemon's YouTube analyses. – I like writing and would like to write some high-quality fanfiction. I've been told I have talent, but also that my stuff needs work. – I'm a nobody with delusions of grandeur. – WHADDAYA MEAN, THE OLD CARD MAKER CAN'T SAVE SETS ANYMORE?! WAS ALL MY HARD WORK JUST- Anyway, I hope that explains me well enough for you.

All your monsters turn into Grandmole huh? Degenerate Circuit sounds hilarious with it, and then you'd need to mostly worry about finding the right monsters for the job... I personally really like a casual deck I have with D.D. Scout Planes, D.D. Drones, Strike Ninja, and I think Degenerate Circuit banishes D.D. Survivor from field instead of bouncing it so it works, and D.D. Destroyer would be techable at least. It'd be a replacement for Macro/D. Fissure, or be ran in addition to them. I'm sure that is a super powerful effect that'll greatly disrupt the opponent even without the above stuff I wrote, but it gets rid of both sides of the monster lineup to achieve it at the expense of going for a "clean up and OTK" that other decks would normally do instead, and any deck can access Knightmare Phoenix, Tornado Dragon, or in-archetype removal so this is not gonna be as impactful as a true floodgate would be... This means I'm not worried about its balance. It's good enough to be relevant IMO.

“Eehhh yea! Hane-san! Sure, we can be roommates!” he stammered out, “For sure! Uhhh, hopefully you’re ok with that even though my Quirk is dangerous!” "I wouldn't ask if I wasn't okay with it, buddy!" Hane said with a wide smile and a thumbs up. "Still, I dunno if I'd called your Quirk dangerous. Protective maybe, but not dangerous," He said with a shrug. Then again, maybe his own views were skewed by his vigilante run. He leaned against the wall, looking around the room. "So... any girl catch your eye?" He asked, partially joking. "Actually wait, give me a second," He looked over to the group playing rock-paper-scissors before bouncing over, landing by them. "Yo, quick question. Nobody's dating nobody in this class, right? I don't wanna flirt with a dude's girl, ya know?" After receiving an answer, he bounced back to Yu. "Okay, that's settled. So, as I was asking, got anyone in your sights?"

Team Showdown - Skuldafn After many hours of continuous binge eating, Taiga was almost full. Conversing with the dragons after passing their trial was alright, but it would be time to head back to base soon. With their gifts from the Legends, the fight against the godslayers would be all but a wash. "I feel like I could take on the whole world!" Taiga roared, as she raised a mug into the air, splashing some ale on her face by accident. "Gah! It's in my eye!" After some flailing, a familiar voice spoke in unison, aimed at her mind. "We are Dialga and Palkia, Lords of Time and Space," "Yeah, yeah I remember! Get on with it then!" Taiga rattled her fist to the sky. "And we have an urgent message. Mioter has fallen. Minutes ago those you know as Godslayers waged an all out attack on the city from the island below. The leaders of the city was forced to use their great Psychic power to teleport it away and have since crash landed in the water. As we send this message our fellow Legendaries are racing to the island to do battle with the Godslayers. This is a call to arms to all those who can fight. We cannot send you there directly but we can bring you to one who can. Answer our call and you will be moved across the land to a vessel that can reach the island. There is no shame in refusing. Just know this is to be the final fight for Adarid's future. If you are ready, brace yourselves." Taiga rubbed the nape of her neck. Just moments ago she was raring to dig her fangs into some Godslayer, but the moment was literally at hand. She closed her eyes, and took a chunk out of some meat. Chewing it in a hurry, she slammed her mug onto the table and shot up like a weed. "BRING IT, YA BOZOS!" She looked to Scarlet and Isole respectively. "I better see you two when I get there!" And in that instant, Taiga was whisked away with nothing but darkness surrounding her. She slid across the ground at a breakneck pace, only to be led into a dazzling light. Upon reaching the other side, she could feel wood beneath her bare feet. She stomped on it, the deck feeling all too familiar. "No way." She shot her head around to be met with a face she wished she wouldn't see again. That damn Pidgeot. Team Showdown - S.S. Showdown "So, that sure was a thing. I'm sure you all heard that lovely little message so I'll get to the point. Welcome aboard the S.S. Showdown, this is your Captain speaking. Seems we've got a bit of a job to do and not much time to prepare. This ship is heading full speed to Mioter, or rather where Mioter was, right now. Where we're to have a confrontation with those bastards that have been screwing things up left and right. I don't know about you but I'm kinda pissed to have this shoved on me so I plan on venting it on those Godslayers. It'll take a bit yet to reach there so rest up while you can I doubt we'll have much time once we reach our destination. Before that, though, I have a couple people here who'd like to speak." "Uh...what...?" Taiga asked in disbelief, now noticing that the ship was in the air. "What the hell is a Mioter?" "I am honored to be standing before so many brave souls. My name is Azriel. Some of you know me as the former sheriff of Juyu. But I am also the Disciple of Arceus... I have watched this land for many years. Unable to intervene due to the terms of my status. However the Godslayers attack isn't just a random occurrence. Moments before it happened I sensed the return of Arceus for just a brief moment. This is their attempt to distract from the fact they now have the creator god within their reach. We must stop them quickly else all life will cease to exist. I know it is much to ask but I hope you to all lend me your strength as we fight this grave threat." "Huh?!" "I'm Fiona. Ah, er. I am...I used to be...I used to work with the Godslayers. B-but I left and was found by this ship's crew. I...have information that will help. The Godslayers' base is located deep underground. The only entrance is a device that is near the center of the island. It will bring people down into the base. But it's not so simple. Once inside the only way to travel from room to room are teleportation pads. It...it takes time for these to be set to travel between rooms so it's likely that before they attacked they set it up to make it difficult for people to attack. But it's the only way to reach the heart of the base where the leader will be." "WHAT!? WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE!?" "So there you have it. A lot to take in I'm sure but if you're here it means you're willing to fight and that's really all that matters. I'd love to say we have an in depth plan but there wasn't much time for that and we aren't sure what we're up against besides that it has enough power to shoot a city out of the sky. So here's the plan for what it's worth. We land and we fight. We fight our way to the center of the island. We have no idea how much time we have so don't wait for long once you find this device. Even if it's only a dozen strong once you get there you'll have to head down. Everyone who doesn't get there will fight alongside the Legends and wait for a chance to follow behind." He took a long pause as he looked across the crowd. "Well, that's that. Get what rest you can. And in case I don't get a chance to say it later....good luck. This may be the end but this fight is only just beginning." Taiga almost threw up, but whether it was from this sudden revelation or being so high up in the air was up for debate. Her head swirled, as she aimed her attention at Captain. "You mean...to tell me...*Ulp*," she swallowed down whatever tried to force its way up, "You were workin' with the Legends this whole time?!" Her head swayed from side to side, dizziness and confusion setting in. However, she found her footing, and twisted her foot for more stability. "Whatever, you know what...." She smacked a fist into her hand. "A straight fight is the only thing that really got through to me. The best offense, is a good offense! Fufufufufu!"

The last few days before the group arrived at Adarid City were quite a bit of a change of pace for Randy. After the complete trashing he got after he walked into that Lucario bout and almost got himself killed, the Incineroar seemed to be contemplating quite a bit. He found himself actually taking time to do what Charlie had mentioned he started working on doing from day one: actually meditating. It was something that definitely helped his overall issues, especially after almost dying like that. After everything that’s happened, he had to get a grip on things at this point...even that Lucario scared him and that was saying something. Between the meditating and the constant daily training he worked on doing, the Incineroar even managed to learn Close Combat. Randy trained and worked, doing his absolute best to master the move and at this point, he had it down. Randy Roarton wants to learn Close Combat! However...Randy already has 6 moves! Get rid of a move for Close Combat? >Yes< | No 1...2...3...POOF! Randy forgot Brick Break ...and! Randy learned Close Combat! If I get another shot against that Lucario...maybe this’ll help turn the tides. Randy thought, quite pleased at learning this move. Eventually, Randy and the rest of the team made it to Adarid City...finally...until… "We are Dialga and Palkia, Lords of Time and Space, and we have an urgent message. If you are ready, brace yourselves." This was heard within Randy's head, most likely the same thing that was said to the other's in the group too. Though he never once saw Dialga or Palkia, they were Legends nevertheless. And as a result, some pretty important Gijinka. He looked at Marie, Keanu and Nani, only shaking his head slightly. The Incineroar figured that they'd know what he'd say at this point. Hell! After the Lucario fight, it seemed like everyone's answers and willingness to fight had changed...so of course, Randy responded to this message the only way he knew how... ...I'm in! Suddenly, he found himself in darkness and being in a feeling that he was sliding across the ground at a quick pace. As fast as he could blink, Randy found himself on a ship...a flying ship. Now he'd seen everything! He wasn't alone, though, as it looked like plenty of other Gijinka were here and around, most likely also hearing the warning given from the Time and Space Legendaries. And at the front of it all, a trio of a Drapion, Pidgeot and Medicham who seemed to be helming the ship. However, while those three had basically explained the gist of everything, Randy noticed three familiar faces roaming around the ship as well: the native Mowlooian Noctowl, Eve, Allie's father, and of course, the Flygon from Trailsau, Trevor. A small smile appeared on his face, seeing these familiar faces appearing here. After everything was said and done, Randy made his way from his little group towards them...starting with the Tyranitar. "Hey!" Randy moved up towards the Tyranitar, giving a two finger salute at the Gijinka, smirking. "Didn't expect to see you around here. Seem to be looking good." He grunted. "I don't really understand what's happening but I couldn't just stay behind." "Well, if anything you'll definitely be putting in a lot of work, if you handing me my tail is proof of anything." Randy chuckled, extending a hand out. "By the way...we did complete that request you asked. Your girls are alright." He let out a sigh. "Well, thanks for that. Means I don't have to worry while I'm out there. Though I would've felt better if I didn't see that boy here." he grumbled and off in the distance Trevor sneezed. "Yeah, I dunno why they brought him into this too..." the Incineroar shrugged, glancing over at the familiar Flygon. "Speaking of, I should probably check on him too. I'll get back to talkin' with you a bit later, sir." With that, Randy nodded at the Tyranitar, making his way towards Trevor, while the Tyranitar shrugged and turned away, moving along himself. Randy approached Trevor, waving slightly. "Hey Trevor...you got dragged into this too, huh?" The young man jumped as Randy approached. "Ah, er...guess so. It's important, right?" "Given the summons like this, definitely." he nodded, before clearing his throat slightly, moving a bit closer to Trevor. "Also, are the girls safe? And I do mean...all the girls." Trevor seemed to be uncomfortable with the question, clearly understanding. "Yes...I assume. She, uh, left, pretty quickly." Randy's face met his open palm, shaking his head slightly with a deep groan. "...shit...that's a big problem. Cause if she's gone...and if what they mentioned about the 'Godslayers' is true...then...damn that's gonna be a whole ordeal." He looked away and mumbled "can deal with that..." "Hopefully. Then again, if it calls for it, the three of us can definitely knock some sense into her." Randy nodded, determination in his eyes as he flashed a thumbs up. He winced. "Yeah...suppose that would be for the best now." under his breath he added "really didn't think this through, didn't want to have to fight again." Randy smiled, putting his hand on Trevor's head, ruffling the hair on it. "Hey, just relax. Everything is going to be alright, ya hear?" he said, before glancing and noticing a familiar Noctowl, Eve. "Alright, got another person to say hi to." With that, Randy moved off towards the Noctowl. As he approaches he'd notice that she's looking around, eyes wide, at everything in sight. "Hey there...everything okay?" Randy asked. "What is...this thing?" The Incineroar immediately understood what was going on, as he chuckled lightly. "Ahhh, first time on a boat. Well, it's a vessel that sails along the water." "It is much bigger than any raft I've seen." She said. Then she moved towards the edge. "And not on water." "Yeah, that's a first for me too...don't see many flying ships to be honest." Randy shrugged. "Don't worry. If anything, Marie can definitely help ya out with keeping calm." "The small one is here too? Here?" She seemed quite surprised by this. "Yeah, the whole crew is here." Randy nodded, chuckling. She looked out towards the water again and, softly continued. "It's very dangerous, for someone so small." This made Randy chuckle a bit more. "Yeah, but you forget...Marie, out of the group, is pretty tough." he said, before thinking. ...and that's saying something, especially with me being concerned. "Maybe. Will have to work hard. So she doesn't need to." "She'll do it anyway though, she's...pretty fiery for a water type." Randy chuckled. "Wouldn't tell her no...but either way...I would say keep an eye on her though. I...I honestly don't want her hurt in this...not after what happened a few days ago." Randy's face became solemn as he cleared his throat, preparing to walk off. "It's great to see you again though..." "I am glad my eyes have seen you are full of health." She responded, after some thought. The Incineroar's mind went back to the way Marie looked after the fight with that Lucario and how she basically was the one who initiated the fight. And how she practically was the reason he went off into a rage like that. Although he didn't want to admit it, Randy felt like this was a major weakness. It was the kids that the Incineroars loved to hear and see cheering for them, so if they ended up in the crossfire...something like that would definitely be enough to put any of them over the edge...and he was no exception. He let out a heavy sigh, praying to both Solgaleo and the Guardians of Alola that nothing like that would happen again. ...things aren't going to be like last time. We've gotten stronger...and out of all this, I've gotten a bit smarter too. I'm not going to let that happen to Marie or any of them again. Not while there's breath in my lungs and a fire burning within me!

"I mean, it is, but let's be honest. The kind of fear-mongering those cowards are spreading is bound to catch on," Raynor stated with a shrug. "Slowly but surely, people will turn on us, slowly pushing us into corners until there's nowhere else to run. I, for one, relish the challenge, but... well, it's not really your guys' problem, right? I guess what I'm tryin' to say if you want to stay outta this mess, then it's best for me to pack up and move on. Of course, if you want me to stay, then I will, but I don't want to drag you all into trouble you can easily stay out of, especially if you want no part in it." "That's not the worst of it. They're going to be looking for us now. Of course, if it were just me, I could handle it but wouldn't want to get anyone else into more danger." Leon shot Raynor's suggestion down as well, and Yue agreed with that decision. "W-We're not leaving you behind," she shook her head. "D-Didn't we go over this before? At the valley?" She looked at Rona then. "Leon's right. The Iron Falcons don't leave anybody behind." Yue wouldn't blame them if they left her behind for being such a timid, pathetic thing, but that was different. Neither Rona, Raynor, nor Edda was like that, so that wasn't even a possibility they had to worry about. "A-and if they go looking for us, then we just have to...have to...fight them," she muttered. Yue still had trouble understanding how it mattered way over here that Rastarn was looking for them. When she had left home, she knew that even if her father had asked the other tribes to look for her, that didn't mean that they would. After all, they were different tribes, and he was only the ruler of one tribe, not all of them. And Rastarn and Enta were two different cities, as Anne had pointed out, so it should work the same here. Or was this an Aeoran thing? Human beings really were too confusing. Then Leon asked Edda where she was planning on going next. "Um, well. Enta was just a stop. I was supposed to go from here to Yon'Lou. Probably a place called Sa- Sab...something. I was supposed to...well..." The girl didn't seem comfortable continuing her train of thought before she continued by bringing out a gem as well as an icon of a crystal dragon and a blue medallion. But Yue wasn't paying attention to that. "W-were you going to Sabetchi?" the archer asked timidly. "I've been there before...it's...different." She didn't say anything more than that, wincing slightly. Leon made his decision then, and while Yue didn't agree with it, she couldn't really argue with him either. Alexis cupped her chin in one hand. "Yon'Lou huh? I heard a lot about the place but never had a chance to go there myself. Sounds like a fun time." She glanced over at Yue. "I'm sure a certain someone can guide us around handily, aren't you glad Yue's with us, Rona?" Alexis said. The wyvern rider looked confused but with a grunt nodded in agreement. The archer blushed. "I-I haven't been everywhere there though. My tribe didn't move around like some of the others. L-Layne might be better for that." She poked her fingers together. "B-but if you need a guide around the woods, I-I could p-probably help." -- Being told to go shopping didn't mean much to Yue. She wasn't the kind to go shopping, and she had no clue what she would buy. So instead, she just wandered the town in a haze of fear and confusion. Fear from all the people around her, though at least she didn't stand out as much in her Yonan garb here, seeing quite a few other Yonans around. Instead, she had a different problem. Many of the Yonans had the pale skin from Youduon, her home tribe, and every time they glanced her way she ducked out of sight. Not that many of them would recognize her at first glance, as she didn't have much presence, physical or otherwise, in the tribe. But it didn't hurt to be careful, either. There were also a lot of Yonans that she thought might be from Sabetchi, but it was hard to tell, with their tendency to wear Aeoran clothes. And forget trying to figure out if any of them were from Tencheang or not. She did spot a couple of Balazeng tribesmen, which was pretty exciting, but she didn't approach any of them. While she had had a good relationship with her mentor who was from that tribe, that didn't mean that the others would like her as well. There wasn't much that caught her eye, but Yue did grab a bag of dried berries to eat. It wasn't much, but she didn't need much either. As she wandered, she eventually neared a bar where she could hear somebody talking about a boat. Perking her ears up at that, the girl edged closer, spotting Alexis entering as well. After going through the doorway, the archer stayed near the exit of the building, ready to flee if necessary. She didn't like being indoors, but Leon had said they would need to find a boat to Yon'Lou.

Thought it was average at first but still decent for comboing with monsters you control that benefit from getting back into hour hand. Then I realized it actually is a Cont. Trap... and then that it has not even a soft OPT or twice-per-turn. IDK if this is a fair way to make battle Traps relevant in the meta, it seems overpowering to me despite the weaknesses of a Cont. Trap. The only card I can think of ATM that is similar to this is Ordeal of a Traveler, which I haven't seen outside of a Sacred Beast feat. new support build that I stumbled upon, IIRC by Lithium2300.

Shaymin nodded in understanding at Lok's reply. "Gijinka who are trying to kill the l-legendaries. That explains why they are called Godslayers." She looked a little nervous. "A-and they're strong? That's...not good. But I'm glad to hear there are others trying to stop them." Cresselia looked to Shaymin then. "I know you have been here a long, long, time, but are you ready to protect our world once again?" The grass type hesitated for a couple seconds, still shaking in fear from what had been said previously. Eventually, however, she nodded. "Y-yes, of c-course," she smiled tremulously. "I-I am no fighter, b-but I am also no stranger to upholding my task as a legendary, whatever that includes." As the others discussed Gwen, Shaymin turned toward the Mismagius with a sad look in her eyes. "I-I wasn't sure what to think of her at first...but I am glad that she made the right decision in the end." She addressed the other directly then, "Thank you Gwen. Kayla. Cresselia," she nodded at the legendary, then turned to the darker legend. She started to shake again, but took a deep breath and spoke anyway. "And you, Darkrai. I might not approve of your actions, but you did watch over that gijinka in the end." The grass type turned from Gwen to look at Nine and Lok. "Thank you, you two. Without you, I would still be in my shell, and Giratina would be an ever-present danger." She smiled then, the last of the nervousness fading away from her expression, replaced with only serenity. "I, and my other self, feel nothing but gratitude toward you. Solarfire, Plasma Rider," her smile turned a little mischievous, "please be careful on your way." She clasped her hands together and closed her eyes. "May we meet again when the sky and earth wills it." The group would feel a pleasant breeze on the wind then, carrying with it the scent of fresh flowers. Soon afterward, Nine, Lok, Gwen, and Kayla were wrapped in a soft glow, the area around them vanishing. Shaymin wasn't there, nor were either of the other two legendaries, but for a second, they could still hear their voices. "Before, I disapproved of Chasers. But now...after meeting you...I have changed my mind. Farewell, and thank you...Chasers of Adarid." And then, the voices faded into silence, their surroundings replaced with those of the village of Alpha. They had returned.

Golett knew who it was: number six-one-five-six-five. It knew it was destined to one day join the ranks of the Elite Guard, which was why the Great Ones had forged it of different clay than its brethren, to denote its status and quality. What it didn’t know was why it had been put into stasis. Why had it been shut down without a warning? How long had it been deactivated? What had reactivated it? The society of the Great Ones had been the pinnacle of prosperity. This… this foreign world was anything but prosperous. It appeared the station had been abandoned; the walls were cracked, the pillars broken, and an inches thick layer of grime, cobwebs, and dust had been allowed to dirty the once pristine walls. The few humans that it had encountered since awakening were strange as well. Though they looked like the Great Ones, they adorned themselves in all manner of strange clothing, and they gestured and jeered in a brutish language whenever it allowed them to notice it. Some of them even attempted to engage it in combat. They would release Pokémon from their spherical containment devices and bark what it could only assume were commands at their domesticated creatures, but compared to the warriors of the past these Pokémon were easily defeated. They would usually retreat once it defeated the Pokémon. That was what it had come to expect… until it met the Loud One. The Loud One was a human who had arrived the day before. The Loud One had released his dream-eating tapir and began indiscriminately battling with any Pokémon that approached. Golett had been passing by when it found itself the subject of one such attack, but the dream-eating tapir was no match for its Shadow Punch. It had believed that would be that—until the Loud One had charged at it and attempted to punch it. Golett subdued the rampaging human with a restrained strike to a critical weak point located just beneath center mass. It proved to be super-effective. The Loud One was silenced, brought to his knees, and the Golett continued on its endless patrol of the station. Or so it should have gone, but the Loud One caught up to it after a time. The dream-eating tapir was on its feet again but the Loud One didn’t send it to fight Golett this time. Instead he stepped forward toward Golett, raising his hands in front of his face in a stance similar to that of a Hitmonchan. It appeared the Loud One wanted to fight. Golett was created to protect the Great Ones. They built it from clay, forged it for a divine purpose, and now a human wanted to fight. Was that alright? The Loud One wasn’t a Great One. The Great Ones had vanished. It had to find its own purpose now. Shadows surrounded Golett’s fist as it stepped toward the Loud One. The Loud One was different now. Prepared, probably, because he was nimble. He leaned out of Golett’s first swing, then surprised the golem by stepping forward, twisting his hips, and punching it in the face. It wasn’t particularly effective; humans were frail compared to Pokémon, and the Loud One was no exception to this, but it surprised Golett so much that it backpedaled. The Loud One shook the fist that he had delivered the punch with. “And Mom said I was hard-headed. Hurt myself more than I did you, huh?” he clenched his fist again and took his stance. “Now I really wanna catch ya. C’mon Tyson!” Golett tilted its head. It had no idea what the Loud One was saying but he was grinning now. Behind him, the dream-eating tapir had begun waving its arm around frantically, and a purple aura started to amass around its hands. What was it doing? Was it some kind of Psychic-type attack? The way the energy swirled was hypnotic, and Golett found itself suddenly getting tired. The last thing Golett saw before it collapsed was the Loud One rushing toward it with wide-open arms. Nate struggled to gently lower the Golett to the ground. “Man you’re heavy,” he groaned, after finally easing it onto the floor. He leaned back and stretched his arms into the air. “Good job on the hypnosis Ty! You timed it perfectly buddy.” Tyson the Drowzee wiggled his trunk and made a happy-sounding trumpet noise. Nate smiled at him and then flashed a double-thumbs up. “Job’s not done yet though. Remember what we talked about?” Tyson swung his trunk up and down in what Nate had come to know as a ‘yes’. “Good. Show it the same dream that you showed me, okay bud?” Another swing of the trunk. “Awesome. I’ll go wrap my hand up and keep a look out for any more wild Pokémon while ya do.” A bright tunnel. An arena filled with cheering humans. Family around it. The details of the picture were hazy and hard to pin down, like smoke, but the emotions behind them were vivid. Happiness. Love. Completion. A sense of accomplishment and belonging. It was a dream. Golett didn’t, couldn’t, fully understand it, but it knew the dream-eating tapir was responsible. Tyson. Nate. A voice it could understand. How? The language it knew had been lost to time. Tyson. Nate. Dream. Psychic tricks. The tapir was trying to communicate; that was the only explanation. Golett had no idea what it meant. Tyson and Nate? Names. Tyson. Nate. Us. The tapir apparently knew what Golett was thinking. Of course, it was probably feasting on its dreams. No. No eat. Share. Our dream. Your dream? Too? The tapir’s voice came through in a broken manner, but the dream shifted around Golett, changing to a field. It saw the Loud One and the tapir standing beside each other on a hill, punching in unison, and it was beside them too. Your dream? Travel? Yes? It all clicked into place. The tapir was asking it to join them on their travels. No! It had a duty to protect the station, a duty to serve the Great Ones, to protect them and their interests. But the station was abandoned and the Great Ones were gone. Golett thought of the emotions that had come with the first memory it had been shown. Family… It had lost its brothers. It had been lonely ever since it was reactivated. And the tapir hadn’t eaten its dreams (yet). Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to travel with them. Your dream? . . . . . . . . . . Yes. My dream. Your dream! Our dream! Welcome! Nate sighed and looked up at the sun as he made his way through the bazaar. Had he really only been in this town for three days? The first day he had lost to the Gemput City gym leader. Pretty embarrassingly too, Nate thought. I really ran in there with just Tyson and got him all beat up. His group had left him behind after that. Not that I really knew them. Not the type of people I wanna keep around anyways, if they’re so quick to ditch someone after one loss. He had spent the entirety of the second day chasing Cassius around the ruins. Which brought him to the present. He had gotten up at dawn to go for some early training with Cassius and Tyson. Cassius' right hook was already shaping up to be a lot more snappy, and Tyson had learned a new move from a technical machine that Nate was sure was going to be helpful in their rematch. Still. He was exhausted, and a little lonely after two days without any meaningful human interaction, which was probably why he immediately approached the girl playing piano on the street when he recognized her. “Hey there! That’s some nice music,” he said. “You probably don’t remember me but my name’s Nathan. We were on the same boat on the way over. You here to challenge the gym leader?”

All little Timmy Bobbysoxer knew was war. Oh, sure, he "knew" other things, like how to count to a thousand or how to make little Scorbunny ears with his shoelaces and so he wouldn't trip on them, but any time he tried to learn anything more, his thoughts would drift off to reminisce about his heroes. People like Oichi or Hideyoshi, even Nobunaga if he was in the right kind of mood, these were his people, even more than the kids at the playground who said they were totally into war, but when Timmy asked them what Pokémon was linked to the great warlord who had united the kingdom of Ransei, all they ever said was "what?" or "you made that place up." It was Eevee. True war historians would have known that. Timmy was a fan of Pokémon battling, too (who wasn't?), though it wasn't for the same reasons as everyone else, as far as he knew. It seemed to Timmy that to everyone else, a Pokémon battle was to demonstrate a trainer's bond with their Pokémon. That was what everyone said on TV, anyway. And Timmy could easily imagine caring about those same qualities. What he wanted, though, more than anything else, was the glory. Oh, to win a Pokémon battle! The stakes didn't matter to Timmy; even the mildest of confrontations would do. But the idea of winning, the idea of being congratulated by an opponent, when he closed his eyes he could almost see it happening right in front of him. All this (and more, but mostly this) was why, when Timmy Bobbysoxer turned ten years old, when the local Pokémon Professor announce they were giving out 'Dexes and Pokémon, he jumped at the call and ran all the way to the lab, just to get in line. He didn't even think about which specific Pokémon he wanted, he just knew that he had to have one. The line was already tremendous when Timmy got there. To his young eyes, it must have been a mile long. And yet, the Professor seemed to have just the perfect Pokémon for each child who approached. Kids who dug around in the dirt got Onixes and Geodudes. The twins who refused to leave each other's sides were handed a Plusle and a Minun. As the line slowly shrank and Timmy was able to get closer to the Pokémon left available, one immediately caught his eye. It was an Eevee. Of course! Who didn't know about his fascination? The Professor certainly would have known, and gone out and found just the right Eevee for him. It all made sense. Everything in Timmy's life up to that point made sense. Which was why, when Timmy's turn finally came and the Professor gave him a Pikachu along with his Pokédex and a few starting Pokéballs, while the kid behind him (the obe who was always indecisive and a bit boring) they got that coveted Eevee, Timmy was crushed. He tried not to let it show, after all, he hadn't even known it was an option until he was already in line, but deep down, he knew his disappointment was there for all to see. What good was a Pikachu anyway? Sure, Timmy had heard of Pikachu that could surf or could wrestle or race faster than any other Pokémon, but none of that was useful to Timmy. An Eevee could be anything. A Pikachu was just an electric rat. It would be no surprise to anyone, then, that Timmy Bobbysoxer's first Pokémon battle was against that dirty, stinking kid who'd taken his Eevee. The battle was as fierce as endless volleys of thundershocks and tackles could be, but it was Timmy and his Pikachu who came out on top. But then something Timmy was never able to explain happened. Or, to be more specific, nothing happened at all. His opponent just gathered up their fainted Pokémon and disappeared into the crowd of onlookers. They didn't even pay for Timmy's victory; the Professor had to do that after the fact. And worst of all, Timmy didn't feel anything. There was no glory in what had happened. Even the onlookers, who had politely clapped when it was all over, had already started to disperse. Timmy Bobbysoxer is still chasing victory. Sure, he has won many Pokémon battles, but he's never quite achieved that sense of elation that he's looking for. The idea of that feeling grows stronger by the day, too. The bigger his accomplishment, the bigger his inevitable disappointment becomes. It's become almost too much to bear. And Timmy's never seen that Eevee kid again. He wants to. He wants to make the Eevee kid apologise from taking his glorious moment away from him. But even though he gets glimpses out of the corner of his eye, even though he'll occasionally hear an Eevee happily cry out after it's trainer, whenever he looks, he never sees anyone or any Pokémon of the sort. (oc dont steal)
