  1. "Alright, anyone who can still listen to reason may want to hold their breath! The rest of you, it's time to take a little nap!" Catherine wondered briefly what the correlation between reason and naps were as the cloud passed over her body. "Wow." She said to the girl sarcastically. "So your big move is to pass some gas huh? How veeeery impressive." It all ended so suddenly that Catherine debated tossing around some of the other first years to see if that would get things going again but ultimately decided to wait and see. “What the hell was that all about…?” Did that mean this was NOT something typical of a school? Catherine would have to keep that in mind. Especially when she recounted to the boy about how exciting things got after he left. She wondered if he had more than the two shoes or if he'd have to go to school wearing only one after he ate the other. Several new people came in. One of them looked even older than her old people. He moved so slowly she wondered if he would pass away before he actually made it to them. The other two looked impressive indeed. Even more than that they bickered in a way that made Catherine very interested in them indeed. She chose to ignore the old guy, she knew old people already and they weren't as fun anymore, and went right up to the masked girl. "Hello. Why do you have a mask? Oh! Are you suuuuper ugly or something?" "I ain't a looker, that's for sure. But looks are for spineless cowards that can't fight anyways." "You're not ugly though?" Ken would add "Shut up." Catherine took the chance to strike at the big guy as well. If bad looks were proportional to strength..."Then I'm sure he's very strong in that case." Sadly neither of them caught her jab. "Too damn strong. He's a freak," Aife snapped at Ken's direction, missing what Catherine meant. "I'm not that---" "Shut up, no one asked you!" Catherine's gears, metaphorical ones as she may be a doll but she wasn't a machine, turned and a new line of taunting came to her soon. She then tilted her head, "are you two..." she seemed to be trying to remember the word then tried, "married?" That was the thing her old people had called it. She suspected at least this would get some reaction out of them. "No! I wouldn't marry that freak if he was the last person on Earth!" "Honestly, I just think marriage is something I should share with someone special, and Ms. Walker, while a fine acquaintance, isn't that special someone for me," "Can't you just say no like a normal person?!" Aife looked ready to throw one of the people she was carrying at Ken. Catherine was encouraged by Aife's more enthusiastic refusal and so she nodded solemnly. Her target was clear. "I see. I understand now." She gave Aife a thumbs up and said, "I'm rooting for you."
