  1. I drew this for a drawthread request on /v/:

    Spoiler

    EWelk2ZXkAIktFO?format=jpg&name=large

It's nice to be decent at drawing but it takes way too long, especially since in that specific drawing I was basically learning each part of coloring(face/thighs/body/clothes/shadow/etcetc) as I went, from scratch, hoping I can learn it and do fast now.

      Thanks.

Ive gotten way way better than before, basically went from making rubbish like this to clearer stuff like the spoiler or this

  2. Just finished watching terminator 1 and 2 because I dont like to be more than three decades behind on the times, and they are AWESOME. Like, I've seen them ripped off or rehashed or referenced or done badly so often so often without seeing the originals in their total awesomeness and extremely tense, good set pieces that escalate every time you think they're done it felt like going back to seinfield and going "man, they really got the punchlines right in this".

Next I might watch say, the die hard series.

  3. I feel like Tako Otoko from yume 2kki would be super extremely popular if he came out in any modern or less obscure game, like undertale or something.

  4.

College is out for the whole week because of the virus, and was out last week too. Big speculaiton that it might get cancelled for a whole month because of T-virus.

Also, black survival eternal return's 5th alpha started, which is awesome, and one step from eden, a roguelike mmbn clone with like 10 classes and 400 chips, is coming out in two days, so im pretty excited.

  5. man, fire emblem three houses is still going and getting a ton of artwork every day, I love it 42f.jpg

Blows my mind the amount of incredible talent we see from artists nowadays, even if some of it's a bunch of niche degeneracy.

  6. This place is boring, it's basically all polls and and RPs which I dont really care about and seeing one or two statuses every day which half the time are for things I dont care about is lame, it's like 90% thar, yui, and blake that I care about or are interested in, sometimes saiko/cow

tbh you pretty much nailed it with "saying everyone else should do stuff for my amusement"

there's been several other threads but it's not like anyone here can guess what other people will want to talk about

you could try putting some stuff out there and see at least

I do have the Fakemon blog going on, IDK if you check it out or if you are into Pokemon in the first place.
I used to comment on some of the manga threads but I haven't lately. And I did intent to bring Dorohedoro up because it got an anime this season and that's really huge for me. Dorohedoro is easily my top favorite manga, it was just finished near the end of last year and never expected it would get an anime this soon, if at all. Now I wait for an anime of Franken Fran.

  8. By the way, if any of y'all want to try granblue or have an interest in it at all, today is the best time to join, until the end of march. Basically, for 1 month and 8 days all quests are half off, give double rewards, and more exp. Also, every day you get a free draw, and from 10th of march every day you roll a roulette to get from 10 to 200 free rolls, then play rock paper scissors to double it if you win. Also it gives so many Half Elixirs(Stamina restore item like FGO apples or AL Oil) that you can basically play for maybe half a year without running out of stamina, and that's if you don't get more half elixirs in that half year. It's really good!

I dont know if it's maid dragon or kemono friends or what started the trend, but there's so many awesome novelty or comedy anime out now, like interspecies reviewers, murenase, bofuri, slime isekai, and more, and I love it.

also also they reached the steam version funding within 50 minutes of release

  13. man, there's so many good artists and artstyles it's almost hard to choose what I'd want to be like. I like persona, and hideo minaba, and fire emblem, and puzzle and dragons, and mistover, and mazeran, and riyo, and countless random internet guys, and I know im basically going "something tells me I can easily beat those trained professionals with a 10-man art team who do it for a living", but still it's hard not to get inspired

    1. Thar

      Thar

I always looked at it as if you should stick with whatever process or technique you're most comfortable with/enjoy the most and let any breaking point be a perk more than a goal, cause if you don't enjoy doing what you previously envisioned yourself doing like these other successful artists did, then really what was the point?

    2. mido9

      mido9

Yeah, for me I mostly just make my drawings out of rough assemblages of other artworks, just take a pose/shape from one drawing, add the hands from another, add the clothes from a different one, etc etc to make something overall good.

    3. Thar

      Thar

I'm kinda the same way. Most of my original work that I spent the most time on usually came from a photo I took and then used a grid to transfer it to a larger canvas to mimic in pastel. I've been meaning to get more into pure scratch drawings where I don't rely on references to create, I just need to get the feel for certain things before it starts to feel natural.

  16. So Northernlion made a one and a half hour video ranking every item in a canadian grocery store and it's surprisingly amazing, like there's so many interesting food opinions:

  17. NgGixiq.png

Well, I basically beat granblue fantasy, this is the hardest content in it, by a very big margin, and it's cleared.

  18. So I'm playing no man's sky after X years and because internet historian's video made me think that it's probably ripened enough by now, and the content and stuff that's in it is so much and so overwhelming.

Like, there's a social hub of players(the space anomaly), tons of new vehicles for both land and sea, space combat, huge amounts of base customization and features to build, lots of new elements to explore, a much bigger focus on homesteading since worlds are now recorded in the galactic atlas and it's not a one in a trillion chance to find someone, it feels like playing a subnatica that's been expanded extremely enormously.

      Kazooie

The game will never truly recover from the reputation it had at launch, but from what I hear, it's not totally terrible anymore. Not my type of game, but it's actually worth the price tag now from what I understand.

    2. mido9

      mido9

I think if it had come out with its current features it wouldve probably been some big huge phenomena where people would try to map everything in it, post about it for years, and just generally view it as a revolutionary thing, especially coming down from its hype, now it's mostly just a neat thing, mostly.

  20. Granblue has some bangin' music, so here's another one I really like, even if it's sorta goofy (Parade's Lust)

  21. So in granblue fantasy a new character called Vikara(Rat) came out and she has a lot of silly/cute poses:

  22. So since it's the end of the year and I probably wont find a sudden goty now I'll just say a bunch of my favorite games, and a bunch of games I thought I'd like but didn't. Gonna be using neogaf rules where it's any game I played for the first time this year is eligible.

    1. mido9

      mido9

      Games I liked:

Zanki Zero: Same writers as danganronpa and it shows, but the story is one of the most intriguing sci-fi fantasies I've seen, you always want to see what's going to be revealed next, it's so so good. Battle system is ok I guess though.

Code Vein: Weeb souls, etc, but I still liked it a lot, the characters are all likeable and good, the music is moody and memorable, the combat system is actually pretty involved since you're switching up passives and skills to find the best broken combo all the time.
Yakuza 0: Extremely awesome combat, fantastic story, and there's so much stuff to do after it's done.

Catherine Classic: I was really into the story, wanted to see what would happen next always, and the puzzleblock thing was a pretty unique puzzler.

Oxygen not included: Ridiculously hard, and ridiculously high skill cap, like, the game has so much working on all at the same time, you need to manage so much and there's always *SOMETHING* that's looming over that's going to destroy everything you own one link in the production chain at a time. I loved it for that.

Evenicle: Goofy waifu hunter game with excuse gameplay, but it's nice, everyone is cute and likeable, the characters' interactions are incredibly funny, like one of the funniest I've seen, and it's a good wholesome experience... except when it isn't and it's traumatizing and you can look up sseth tzeentach's review to see what  I mean.

Granblue Fantasy: "Begorrah, mido, this is a gacha game, what jew shit is this". I still liked it, I dont care, the combat is very final-fantasy-5 ish, I got a ton of characters from the free roulette/giveaways, and the combat is so competitive and involved since every boss fight is basically a race against up to 29 other people to get the MVP chest.

    2. mido9

      mido9

Games I thought I would like but I did not:
Sekiro: Shadows press 2 buttons for 30 hours. I already made a review of it, so I'll copy it here: "the game has no variety in gameplay at all, you don't do anything except parry for the whole game except for the occasional firecracker on animal bosses, and rarely even combat arts or items, and it got really boring. It just took forever to do anything and one slip up in your parries meant you die, by the time I got to things like the guardian ape I didn't even bother deflecting, I would just sprint away, wait for an obvious weakness/opening, and just nightjar slash in, nightjar slash out, repeat for 20 minutes to win at 100% HP and posture and all gourds still up, just had a sense of "ok, I get it, can the game end now?""

Borderlands 2: How does this game have infinitely generating guns and they ALL suck? Like, all of them had like 30% accuracy over more than point blank range, by the time I was emptying whole magazines and not even being able to kill a raider because the majority of the fire bullets had just missed him entirely even pointing at center mass(at least, for the enemy under cover) I was getting actually frustrated and just went "yeah, not worth it"

Moonlighter: Extremely shit. Basically, the game's gimmick is that it's a zeldaclone roguelite, but items you find in the underground can be sold for gold or used to craft new weapons, but going back to home base to sell items takes a long time and a lot of price adjustment, and crafting items takes a lot of grinding, and you NEED to grind and craft these to do anything, so it just felt like legend of zelda, but with grinding and delays between each run. Really hate this modern roguelite theme where the "replay value" is literally just grinding for the stat increases/weapons you need to beat the game instead of the variety of the items in the run, seen this in Undermine too, bad design.

Graveyard Keeper: This is like one of the only games where I felt the devs dont know what the concept of fun is. It's a harvestmoon-like, sort of, but everything takes up a massive amount of your energy, you can only do like two or three activities a day before you run out, food is hard to get, everything is grindy and has a ton of steps leading up to it, some activities can ONLY be done on certain days so you have to wait more, it takes forever to get places, it's just a horrible waste of time all around.
