  1. Location: Trailsau (Team Alola, day 27) Inventory: Good Rod, Antidote, Kasib Berry "So uhh...what took ya two so long? Here I was starting to think we'd have eaten all the grinds by the time you came back." Keanu presented a fair point. Whatever Randy and Marie had been busy with, it had to have been pretty time-consuming. Whatever it was. "Well, Trevor's place is a bit of a walk to get to. Then, we just kind of talked. This town really is something else, don't you think guys?" "Yeah, Trevor met us half way and took Allie the rest of the way...that Flygon is a mystery to me...but it's whatever. Anyway, but like Marie said, me and her just talked. It's not often me and her just chit chat...ya know, without her yanking on my ear. Still, least this whole thing isn't dealing with me being in prison like in Mowloo... But yeah, out of all the locations we've been to so far...it's something more out of the ordinary..." "It's a weird town," Nani commented. It was certainly something else, and maybe it was just her, but she didn't like the way the culture of this town worked. "I get the reason for fighting Heatran in particular, but going at it all the time among themselves without rhyme or reason seems like a waste. Especially in a barren environment like this. Compared to everything else we've seen in this region though, it doesn't seem like it's really a problem..." A problem was something like basically a war against local tribes in the jungle. A problem was mysterious creatures from who knows where invading your home region. What was going on in Trailsau still struck Nani as barbaric and pointless, but... "In the end, it seems like everyone gets along all the same. Maybe they just bond differently around here. It makes you wonder if it's like that for the entire region." That would certainly be something. "Speaking of which, where should we go next? Or rather, which direction? Unless we'd rather try to settle down here or something."

Remember when I said I didn't like the goblin song because it had a good base but never really expanded upon it? This is a great example of how to expand upon a good base. 8/10. You're one of my favorite people to rate music from because I never have the slightest idea what to expect. Have I ever told you that? 5/10 Hello 2017 my old friend. I feel like I should also warn you in advance that if you come here in November/December just to bombard my thread with christmas music, I'm going to just ignore you entirely. 8/10 I'd fuck a vampire. 9/10. OP's suggestion. I felt like shitposting at first while I busy myself with some host work for Skies, but then I decided not to. 9/10
  3. All accepted. I'll start adding them to a roster in the opening post in just a second.

I'm too used to the Neil Cicierega version. I can still hear "bustin' bustin' bustin' bustin' bustin' bustin'" in my head as I listen to this. A 6/10 classic. ehhhhh... 5/10 Ministry is a band I'm fairly familiar with, but mostly from their (very good) covers. Mostly. It's odd to think Everyday is Halloween is their most popular track. 5/10 at best imo. OP's suggestion. Tonight I remembered Cel Damage was an amazing game, but I forgot until I started playing it again that the soundtrack is way too good for what it is. 8/10
  5. top 5 favorite servants in fate?
  6. The leader was coming. Uh-oh. This positioning maybe wasn't so good for her. In fact, it certainly wasn't. Evidenced by an arrow finding its way into Pyrrha's back, followed by the leader hopping off its mount with two weapons of his own and looking ready to make mincemeat of Pyrrha with that axe of his. An attack that Pyrrha wasn't afraid to discard her own axe to avoid the brunt of. Luckily though, she didn't have to, as the next thing she knew, a wall of earth separated Pyrrha and the gnoll leader. That was a breath of fresh air to be certain. At least in this instant, Pyrrha could focus fully on the other gnoll; the one she'd initially attacked. And so, once again, Pyrrha swung her scimitar at the gnoll, keeping her axe hand ready for defensive techniques.

Had to hit "unsure" on more of these than I'd like since I didn't understand a few questions.

Alas. In the meantime, here's your 6/10. You're allowed since this is a special case because I was till half past 4 last night when I usually turn in at 3 or so. I recognize the name Igorrr and knew immediately that this would be interesting. And I was not disappointed. In fact, I'm glad you decided to submit anything anyway because this is awesome. This was gonna be an 8/10 at first but that chicken grunt at the end puts it up to 9/10. As for your past submissions, I'm going to be talking about two of them actually. Deadpan Blues just above, and Fear and Delight from the previous page. I've been meaning to come back to Fear and Delight for a bit, in fact. Deadpan Blues still sounds very 80s "metal is just now starting to burst onto the scene" to me. Like this wouldn't sound out of place in Brütal Legend; I wouldn't be surprised if I was driving around in that game and this came on the radio. Quite the compliment, because I love that game and its soundtrack. 8/10! Fear and Delight I have two things I wanted to do: Amend the score I initially gave it, and also rate the video since this is now among my top music videos of all time. I'm upping the score I gave the song to 9/10 because I've probably listened to it at least fifty times since you posted it, and I'm giving the video a clean 10/10 score! OP's suggestion, since Spaz reminded me this song exists. Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, anyone? (I'd beat all of you at that game, just sayin) I've always loved that bass guitar to death. 8/10.

I saw this title and immediately knew what you were presenting to me. Quite a bit better than I remember it sounding. Maybe because I'm used to people who don't know how to sing singing it around the house near halloween when this movie starts getting played. 7/10, quite well put together. Very classic-sounding. 7/10, though I'm gonna rate this one again next time since it's very late and I'm a bit out of it because of that.

For some reason, film music really gets me in a talking mood, it would seem. It would be. This ain't Yui Rates Cinema. This song has a very nice base to it, and about halfway into the song it shows that there's more to it than just that. I would have been concerned if it was just the same 14 notes over and over again for five minutes. I'm aware the 70s were just a wee bit before metal truly burst onto the scene, but I feel as if some deep electric guitars could do wonders for that second. It also goes back into the intro again at around the 4:20 mark though, so it's back to hearing the same 14 notes over and over again. I understand that this is a movie title theme, but that doesn't excuse a lazy job where you write about 10 seconds of music and call it a day. 5/10, good production values are very powerful things and should never be underestimated. TIL spoilers don't work in quotes. Either that or this is just a weird case. Anyway, this is one of those songs where I've never been too keen on the original if I'm being quite honest. Despite being done by the legend Danny Elfman himself, something always felt... off, about this song. Something with the vocals, since the composition is outstanding. I've never been able to quite put my finger on it. Last time I said something about this - I forget if it was online or irl - somebody told me "well yeah that's the point, it's Halloween it's supposed to be spooky" but that's not what I mean. It's not off in a spooky way; it's something else. Maybe the voice team cared more about voice acting than singing? I could ramble on for days about why something feels out of place with This Is Halloween, but let's just leave it at a 6/10 rating. Speaking of voice acting vs singing, the idol genre hits the sweet spot between the two perfectly. Probably because a lot of voice actors in idol anime are idols themselves. Funny story though, I stumbled upon this myself at first because I kept playing the very first Koume song you posted on loop, and youtube was like "can I interest you in a duet tho?" and I was like "fuck yeah hook me up" so then I listened to this on loop a few times. Keep posting Koume, and definitely keep posting Syoko. 10/10! OP's suggestion. I don't wanna wait for someone to post it, because it's an outstanding musical number from hands-down my favorite Halloween movie of all time. This is a song I actually have trouble rating in my usual semi-objective style, since Hocus Pocus is a movie that's very near and dear to me. I won't bore you with sentimental bullshit though, especially since that's pretty out of character for me. So let's say I give the song a 10/10 and leave it at that. The only bad thing about this song is that there should have been a full-length 3-4 minute version released in the movie soundtrack, but even then, the song's perfect as-is.

6/10 Once simply wasn't enough. And I'd say that's enough to justify a 9/10. Starting off spooktober with a classic I see. A classic that gets a 7/10. Could have done without the minute and a half non-intro though.
  13. Calibration complete. Digivice now online. Eh? Time to question it wasn't really a luxury Kokoro was afforded. Just after her digivice went online - whatever that was supposed to mean - everyone that had been outside busted into the room. And yes, that did mean everyone. Including that giant metal dragon, though he seemed to have taken some injuries. But so did Dreifus, based on Mr. Henderson leaving him at the altar and asking the three students assembled here to keep an eye on him. "Alright everyone. Theo managed to heavily damage Machinedramon. We have a small percent chance of beating him now... just don't be too stupid. Especially you three. Having Digivices don't make you invincible, you know?" That was another matter. Chris had the log trap under control, so there was no need to worry about that. Tatewaki and Mackenzie fighting back, too. She had to admit, Kokoro thought they would try to go hide somewhere. There would be time to ask about these digivices later. Right now, she had to worry about that giant metal dragon. An idea was coming together. Yes, like that. And with its size... perfect! Kokoro sat down on the floor, next to Dreifus, keeping an eye on the enemy ahead. "Um... are you gonna fight?" "I will. Maybe. If this goes right for my idea to kick off properly. Only an idiot would rush in without a plan, and mine happens to involve waiting a bit. Plus, one of us needs to watch Dreifus."

  15. Speaking of the spooky month, reminder to everyone that the Halloween Masquerade is still taking applicants for monster slots!

  16. Clarifying on the above because Black is the big dumb. Returning monster limit does not include Mettaton NEO or Hades. This means that for the purpose of returning monsters, we have 3 slots still open, since nobody else has voiced interest in taking one. And while I'm at it, we're currently at 8 new monsters. There are two slots left before we hit our minimum quota, but the cast size for this event goes up to 15. This isn't your last chance, but you should get a spot while they're hot!

  18. Untrue. The fact that you took the initiative to make this new website, as well as giving enough damns to fix it when it needs fixing, is commendable. I said this on my opinions thread from when the site was first made too, but I feel like it should be reiterated as a great case on why not to be too set in your expectations of others. Initially, I was against you becoming a mod on the old site, and wary of your modhood when it first started. I came to take that back later on, and it's been mostly uphill from there. Shame we don't hang out much, since you seem like a preetty fun guy. Very flighty, you have trouble committing to things in the long-term. As someone interested in the RP section, this is a trait I must frown upon. There's also your easily stressing out over games, but you've recently acknowledged that and voiced that you want to take active steps to improve in that regard. Putting in the work to change yourself for the better is greatly admirable! I look most forward to seeing the fruits of your efforts for myself one day. If it weren't for our very tiny list of common interests and my general reluctance to poke my head out from my immediate circle, we'd probably be pretty tight. But because those things are things, you're in with Rewas on a short list of people that I really like despite not really talking to that much.

  20. Location: Skrelp Harbor Poké: 700 "Ha, nice try, no barrier can stop Machop's strength, keep up the attacks buddy, Karate Chop!" "Focus." "Wha...Oh yeah, Ha, Focus Energy Machop! Thanks Fuyumi I forgot he had that! Haha!" While the machop stood there, focusing his energy (whatever that meant), Kanon let out the attack order of her own. "He's leaving himself wide open! Start pecking at him!" With a vindictive chirp, Ursula hopped forward, throwing its head back only to swing it forward at the machop, pecking away with its little beak. Between Ursula's own attacks and the barrier she'd set up to mitigate Kenta's attacks, Kanon was feeling pretty confident about the outcome of this fight. While the two went at it, Kanon directed her attention up to the trainer himself. He was definitely a giant meathead. Losing to someone like that would make Kanon look bad. "Why are you so interested in this region, by the way?" Kanon asked.
  21. Day 9, 10:00, Arena Points: 56 W/L Record: 3/3 Good morning fighters! Today starts a brand new week of battles. I hope you all show the audience why you're the best in the business! That being said I am sending this message to inform you that I will be away on some business. If you have something you need to bring up feel free to bring it up with my assistant, Tea (number included). She is capable but young so I hope you treat her well and with the respect you'd give me while I am gone. It was the start of a brand new day. A brand new week, even! And today, Aurora was gonna be busy! She'd woken up early, took a nice hot shower, and ate a nice hot breakfast. And now, it was time for all that busy hard work stuff. There were still some miscellaneous errands Aurora wanted to do. Figure out how to set up her own personal business, for one. The little things on her agenda as a fighter outside of fighting, too. Playing on a sports team sounded fun! She'd have to do some looking around online to see what sorts of teams there were. But before any of that, there was also fights! Against another combatant. The event match that had been put off all this time. Indeed, if all went well, Aurora would be walking out of today with quite a bit of points in her pocket! Which was good. Because her funds right now were looking rather dismal. So, the important step was to find someone to fight. And if it was easy money she was after, Aurora did have one person in mind. She opened up her message app. From: Aurora To: Masaru Hi! If you don't already have another opponent lined up, I'd like to fight it out with you in the Arena today! And... send! Admittedly, Aurora didn't know much about Masaru. But out of everyone she hadn't really fought yet, he seemed like the easiest one to take out. And right now, she wasn't concerned about a fun fight so much as a profitable one. Her bank account - and perhaps that one Plants in Pants fangirl - would thank her later.
  22. “Hello there, ye merry folk of Blue Yonder! I am the Mysterious Bartender. I’ve traveled from a far away land to peddle my alcoholic wares, the likes of which are free for your consumption, so long as you present me with a scroll of age verification that proves you’re eighteen! Your King was very strict on this rule, so no exceptions will be made. So? Is a fair lady such as yourself interested?” That mask was giving her the creeps. Kyouko didn't like that she couldn't tell who was behind it. That's rich, coming from me. The whole idea of my entertainment costume was "hide my face from the crowd." Still, it wasn't like hers had a fake face on it. With this guy here, being approached by two different people so soon, and the knowledge that this was indeed a social event and so she'd probably see plenty of others... yeah. Maybe this wasn't such a bad idea. She could at least have enough to not remember coming here in the first place. "Sure," Kyouko finally answered. She reached into her hoodie pocket, pulling out her student ID and handing it over to the mystery man. "I'll just take whatever's cheap." It wasn't like she knew much about this stuff anyway. "Well, you're just full of surprises today Kyouko. Entertainment dueling too! I would have figured you to show interest in the Duel Team proper, what with your relationship to Jun and all. What've you considered for the character?" "If I wanted to join something to compete, I would've signed up for the swim team by now." She'd have much better odds there than in the duel team. "I joined the club so that I could get them to stop bothering me, actually. I'm already in a club now, so stop asking. I shouldn't feel as satisfied as I did about seeing the captain's face when I told her later that day, but it was nice to get them to finally stop breathing down my neck." And as for the character... "I'd like to keep quiet about the character though. I'm not really taking it that seriously, but I'd rather not get kicked out of the club and be left to the vultures from the swim team again."
  23. Location: Trailsau (Team Alola, day 27) Inventory: Good Rod, Antidote, Kasib Berry "Yes, yes, ahahah. Yeah, Randy and Marie wouldn't be very happy, would they? And you know, Randy when he gets mad he's pretty stubborn, and so is Marie. Honestly, they both get really troublesome when that happens, so uhh...yeah, don't do anything they wouldn't approve of and...stuff." This didn't seem like Keanu's day. It was probably Nani's fault for telling him a weird story that may or may not have been entirely false anyway. That wasn't good. She took a mental note that Keanu wasn't very good with ghost stories. So much so that he seemed to be using Randy and Marie as sort of a defense from whatever grisly actions Nani wasn't going to take anyway. And speaking of those two... "Is everything alright?" Now the whole gang was back together! "Just fine," Nani answered. Under her sleeve, the others could see Nani's thumb stick up in approval. "Oooooh I think I know what it is, Marie. I thiiiiiink Keanu and Nani were having a moment." "It's not that. It's just, Keanu isn't good with ghost stories is all. I wish I'd known that before telling him something that I don't even think is true to begin with." A moment? If Nani was being honest, Keanu wasn't quite her type anyway. Calling it a moment was technically correct sure, but it wasn't that kind of moment. Besides, she wouldn't want a long-running and special relationship with someone spooked by stories as easily as Keanu. It simply wouldn't work out.
