  1. And that concludes our program for this year! It wasn't as bombastic as some previous years, but we certainly improved over last year's flop. Friendships were made, quests were embarked upon, and multiple lives were nearly lost! Now that's what I call: Drama! Romance! Bloodshed! Now then, with this year's festivities concluded, it's time to move on to the final stages of this year's Halloween Masquerade. Monster Hunt prizes, the Monster of the Year poll, and the annual unmasking. This year's prizes were relatively small, but even smaller was the amount of players who participated. Only two players submitted monster guesses at all, but both of them managed to pinpoint every monster's identities within the first few days of the event! And so, @REP and @LordCowCow shall each be awarded the grand prize of 1,500 points! Moving on down the agenda is the Monster of the Year poll. I would like to encourage anyone who plans to vote in this poll to vote before reading the true identities of the monsters that will inevitably be listed below, to avoid potential bias in favor of or against certain players. Additionally, monster players are forbidden from voting for their own monster! There isn't any prize for winning this poll, but somebody always makes a poll like this after the Masquerade ends, so I figured I'll just do it myself and save everyone else the effort! What a wonderful host I am! Last and not least is the unmasking! This is the part of the program where the players who participated in this fine event will come in and reveal who they played as this year. Of course I won't do that myself! Where's the fun in that? And so, let's give a round of applause once again to our player cast! Will the below members please reveal their monster identities now? @Blake @British Soul @Forgotten Home @MetalSonic @Mr Spaz @Mr. Hyde @Nyx @radio414 @REP @Thar @Yui Last and not least is a more personal confession. Remember at the start of the event when I said "I look most forward to working with all of you one last time?" Well darlings, I don't know if you know this, but this form - as well as the EX form I used last year - can be quite tolling on my battery. Sadly, I will not be able to participate in future events. This is my final adieu, good people of the Neo Card Maker forums! Hopefully you all enjoyed the event! Please do look forward to next year's Halloween Masquerade as well, even if it won't have a host as drop-dead gorgeous as I am! Merry Christmas, everybody~!
  2. You'd think one interview wouldn't last nearly that long... wait, what's this? The event's nearly over!? Oh my, I can't believe I missed the entire show!

  3. Hello there, darling! I thought I saw a support card for a neglected archetype, and what do you know, I did! Let's try to review this, and also correct your PSCT as it appears to be rather off. To start with, the first effect of this card is quite reminiscent of Cloudian Squall. Did you take some inspiration from it, perhaps? That's great, because it's a crucial card to that archetype's counter-based playstyle, so of course this archetype should have something similar! It being a field spell also means you can't distribute 2+ counters per turn like Cloudians can, with the tradeoff being that A-Counters tend to be a bit more disruptive than Cloud Counters. The activated effects however, may come a bit too cheap. Full effect immunity for a selected monster doesn't sound too bad, until one realizes that this is any monster. It doesn't even have to be an Alien monster. If, for instance, you were to summon a powerful boss monster who can't be destroyed by battle or some such, this makes them perfectly unkillable (aside from Kaiju tributes) in all but your most dire of circumstances or until the field spell is removed. The Special Summon and searching effects are quite alright though, and I'm not quite sure what how valuable non-targeting, non-destruction removal is in the current climate so I'll refrain from suggesting a different cost for that. Overall, you may want to tweak some numbers with the card's effects or the effects themselves, especially when none of these effects have a HOPT clause like many cards do these days. It's quite a fine idea on a field spell for Aliens that isn't the rather underwhelming Otherworld - The "A" Zone, though, so don't feel discouraged. I can't help you tweak those numbers or effects, but what I can do is correct your PSCT, as it has a few outdated words/phrases and quite a few grammar errors. Ahem. During your Standby Phase: Place 1 A-Counter on every face-up monster. You can remove A-Counters from anywhere on the field to activate 1 of these effects. • 2: Target 1 monster you control; that monster is unaffected by other card effects until the End Phase. • 4: Special Summon 1 "Alien" monster from your hand or GY. • 6: Add 1 "Alien" card from your deck to your hand. • 8: Banish 1 card on the field. I feel it should be noted that although there are many spells and traps that support A-Counters, none of them are strictly "Alien" cards because they don't have the word "Alien" in their name. In fact, the only "Alien" card besides the archetype's monsters is Alien Brain, which has nothing to do with A-Counters but does still belong to the archetype. Whether you'd like to rephrase the 6-counter effect because of this or keep it as-is is your decision, but I thought you would like that bit of info in case you didn't already know.
  4. Singing, dancing, and acting, of course. I wouldn't get very far doing those things if I wasn't passionate about them.
  5. It looks like this year's Halloween Masquerade is starting to draw near its conclusion, beauties and gentlebeauties! Have you talked to all the monsters you wanted to talk to? Played some games? Perhaps submitted some monster hunt guesses for the curious types? Make sure you do everything you wanted to do with this event!

  6. Heck Yeah But of course! I am, after all, a man of many talents.
  7. Of course! Anything for an adoring fan.
  8. You've got your work cut out for you, whoever may be posting next. May this post serve as a jinx.
  9. You can't improve on perfection, but do try your best, darling.
  10. Hmmm... well, I do certainly enjoy crossover episodes. Theoretically, this card's effect can deal as much as 2400 damage in a single blow. Quite impressive! But also rather unlikely, as it would require three Link-4 monsters that all point to the same zone which you then summon this card to. More realistically, it will probably do something in the neighborhood of 400-800 damage before being used to ladder into a bigger Link Monster or start an entirely new one. In that regard, it rather reminds me of the Windwitch archetype; dealing a small amount of effect damage before proceeding to prepare for or ladder into a boss monster. As for its actual uses in the archetypes it's designed for... I have no idea! I don't play with either of those.
  11. I see I'm not in this poll. What a pity, though I suppose it's only right to make it fair for the other monsters!
  12. Sorry for the delay making this thread, darlings, but you know how it is. Interviews to attend, autographs to sign, the usual celebrity life. Please, ask your favorite superstar anything you wish in this thread!
  13. Ladies and gentlemen, we have our Monster Hunt's first winner! In the meantime, I hope the rest of you fine monsters and viewers are enjoying the festivities. I know I am!

  14. Ladies and gentlemen, it's... SHOWTIME! Indeed, the Halloween Masquerade officially begins now! Each monster is now allowed to post introduction threads, AMAs, or whatever else they want as long as it's within the forum and event rules! Speaking of which, each monster has been given a starting pool of 3,000 points. These points can be used in any manner these monsters see fit, so long as it's not anything malicious like giving them all to your main account or other cheaty actions like that. Speaking of which, let's have a look at those monsters and the players behind them! These lists are alphabetized and separated from each other for the prupose of anonymity. Let's start with the monsters. Ainz Ooal Gown Box Ghost Dullahan Kurumi Ebisuzawa Larry the Cucumber Post-Crisis Carlos Segata Sanshiro Sou Hiyori Spooky Uncle Death Yami Bakura ...what's this? 11 monsters? An even greater turnout than expected! And now, on to the players! Blake British Soul Forgotten Home MetalSonic Mr Spaz Mr. Hyde Nyx radio414 Rep Thar Yui All of the above monsters and members are officially part of the Monster Hunt now! As mentioned in an earlier post, you can earn point prizes by correctly guessing the identities of each monster. However! You may only take one guess at each monster's identity every 24 hours! Someone who guesses Spooky's identity at 9:00 can't make another guess until it's 9:00 of the next day, for example. Guesses are to be submitted to Yui or Blake via PM. However, our dear co-host Hades has brought some old friends back. The following monsters are not part of the Monster Hunt, and you will not receive any point prizes for guessing their identities. In fact, their identities are in this very thread! Bram Stoker - DragonSage Ivan Ooze - Chaos Sonic Pepsiman - Saikazo Happy hunting, hunters! And to our dear @Monsters who have joined us this year, let the Halloween Masquerade begin!
  15. Thirty minutes left, darlings~!

  16. We're nearly there, darlings! With only about a week left until the Halloween Masquerade starts, don't forget to submit your monster ideas if you haven't yet!

  17. With the Halloween Masquerade closing in, I'm pleased to announce that prizes for this year's monster hunt have been confirmed! In the interest of keeping this year's event smaller in scale, we'll only be distributing small point prizes. Please see the below for more information on prizes! These will be handed out to any forum member able to correctly guess the identities of certain amounts of monsters. Uncovering 1 monster: 50 points Uncovering 3 monsters: 200 points Uncovering 5 monsters: 500 points Uncovering 10 monsters: 1500 points There are some points that ought to be noted, though, as this year's Masquerade is a bit special. As stated at the start of this thread, Boss Monsters like my beautiful self and returning monsters from past Masquerades do not count for the monster hunt! Furthermore, for those of you unfamiliar with this event, guesses as to a monster's identity are to be PM'd to myself during the event. Not an event coordinator. Not a moderator. Me specifically.
  18. I've heard your a fan of mine. Not that I blame you.
  19. Attention dear viewers, and especially to monsters-to-be! Don't forget to follow the Halloween Masquerade thread in Events to stay updated on the latest news regarding the incoming event! Simply hit that follow button at the top of the page, and the website will let you know when I make any new announcements. Like the one I just made, for example.

  20. After some conversation with our lovely administrator Tormented, I can confirm that monsters are allowed to host forum games with prizes involved! To avoid inflating the economy of this website too much within its first year of running, I would like to advise that monsters try to keep any point prizes modest. However, monsters will also be able to hand out items as prizes if the reward has been worth the effort! For further guidance on hosting these games, please contact one of the event coordinators mentioned at the start of this thread, as well as our dear admin Tormented to ensure the prizes aren't excessive and that your monster can be given the appropriate prizes to distribute once the event starts. Members that are unfamiliar with the PM system should follow the below instructions on PM'ing multiple members. When sending a PM, you should see the "To" field containing the recipient's name. You are able to simply add other members to that field to send the PM to multiple people at once. Stay tuned for further updates, darlings! After all, we've yet to discuss the prizes for the monster hunt, and with item prizes being available on this website, we're able to crack open a whole new layer of making your effort pay off.
  21. Our cast is nearly assembled, darlings! I sure hope you're all as excited as I am!

  22. Wonderful news, darlings! Recruitment for new monsters has nearly finished! Out of the 10-15 monsters we wanted for this event, we currently have 9. Soon, we'll have a large enough cast to start this show as scheduled (or perhaps a little early), and there will still be room for more to come! On the flip side, there are still plenty of slots open for monsters you'd like our dear co-host Hades to bring back to this year's Masquerade! Out of the 5 slots we set out for returning monsters, only 2 have been filled. That means there are still plenty of chances for you to bring back that one monster you so enjoyed playing once upon a time! And don't forget, the only rule is that you've been a reasonably active member on this website recently. That means we encourage new members - or members who simply hide away in one section without interacting with the rest of the community - to come out of their shell and join in the festivities! My managers look most forward to everyone's lovely ideas for monsters to partake in this year's Halloween Masquerade! If you're confused as to what I'm talking about, please direct your eyes to the top of this thread, where I go into greater detail on the event! And now, I must return to where I've been hiding away all this time. Until next time beauties and gentlebeauties, I bid you adieu! @Members

  24. Hello, new and old viewers alike! Did you miss me? Theoretical question, of course you did! After last year's show was met with some... "mixed" reviews, I spent an entire year at the glorious MTT-Brand Superstar Camp, and have come out completely the same! You can't fix perfection, darlings. BUT! I did learn a thing or two while I was there, handing out harsh lessons to aspiring stars between all my other obligations. You know what's hot on the surface world these days? Remakes! Take something old, and do it again with some new life and techniques breathed into it. And if those directors in Hollywood can do it, so can I! Welcome, beauties and gentlebeauties, to the Year of Revival's Halloween Masquerade! Now, I see a handful of new adoring fans have tuned into our show this time around. I suppose that's what happens when you switch to a new channel. So for those of you not quite sure what's happening right now, fear not, for I'll explain everything! But in the interest of saving time, I'll be doing this rather quickly, so try to keep up. Ahem. TheHalloweenMasqueradeisanannualeventinwhichplayerstakeupmonsterdisguisesfor... sorry, what's that? I'm going too fast? Very well! I will explain at a normal speed! The Halloween Masquerade is an annual event with two core components. The first is the Masquerade itself, in which a handful of players are permitted to run a second "monster" account in addition to their main account Consider it the same as wearing a Halloween costume, but you're pretending to be that person. The second part is the monster hunt, in which participants look at the monster roster, and try to guess which members are playing which monsters. However, I must urge new monsters to not pick something purely because it's hard to guess! This attempt at playing an obscure role has caused many a monster to simply drop out of the masquerade because they simply weren't enjoying it. Any further questions about the event can be directed to myself or my almost-as-lovely co-host, Hades. With the event explained, let's talk about the rules. 1: This year, we're only accepting 10-15 monsters. This is generally a show with 20 participants, but the directors insisted we lower the cast size to account for a smaller and newer stage. This will also make the monster hunt more friendly to new players, so rejoice! 2: While past masquerades have had some high requirements to join, that won't be the case this time around. You need only be reasonably active on the website recently to apply. This is to encourage new members of the community to join in, so let's see what those rising stars are made of! 3: Be a good sport! You're given a second account, but are expected not to abuse the fact. Don't send yourself lots of points from your monster, don't like all your posts as your monster, etc. Violators of this rule will be removed from the event, and potentially barred from joining future masquerades as a monster. 4: Do not tell others your monster identity! Do not tell your friends or family who you are in this masquerade, as it's meant to be a secret for the other site members to figure out themselves! Likewise, don't make posts that out the true identities of other monsters. People caught in the act will be removed from the event and prevented from being a monster in the future. 5: Similarly to last year's event, this Halloween Masquerade is themed, BUT! The theme will not be strictly enforced this year. Instead, you'll simply be encouraged - not forced - to adhere to the theme for the Year of Rebirth. The theme for this year's monsters is undeath! Vampires, zombies, and incredibly handsome ghosts living inside machines, et cetera, are all on the table. 6: A quick note. Boss monsters, such as yours truly, are not formally part of the monster hunt this year, for reasons I'm going to delve into, but you can still put out guesses to their identities if you so desire. 7: Do not submit your monster ideas in this thread!! Please, PM them to the event's coordinators: @Blake Eagle @Nathanael D. Striker and @Yui Now, the sharp-eyed Halloween Masquerade fans among you may recognize the name Hades that I mentioned earlier. Indeed, he was a participant in a past Masquerade, and has opted to join me for this year's event, fitting in 2019's theme of "Year of Revival". And he's not alone, either! Indeed, Hades is willing to use his command over the afterlife to bring back five monsters from past Masquerades! Players interested in having a rerun of an old monster should apply in the same fashion as anyone else; by sending a PM to the event's coordinators. Because we'll only be accepting five of these, we'll only be picking the best of the best if we get more entries than we can handle. Finally, our schedule! It wouldn't be much of a show if it only ran for a single day, but in the interest of avoiding too much filler on our season two pilot, we'll keep this a bit brief. The event proper will begin on October 22nd, 2019 at 12:00AM Eastern Standard Time. The event will then continue on until November 1st, 2019, 12:00AM EST. If you wish to participate, please remember to submit your monster via PM to the above users before the event starts. Now then, once more, with spirit! Lights! Camera! ACTION! I look most forward to working with all of you one last time!
