  1. I just saw that you posted Blue Stahli, three cheers for reppin' Detroit! Very solid act, anyway here's some visual kei, probably the most influential act in that genre. I need to look into them more, but this is a fantastic start I'd reckon
  2. All I will say about this song is go see the Joker if you haven't already! It's truly amazing.
  3. I didn't realize this was a thing, but tbh this isn't surprising since there tends to be a lot of Goth compilation records filled with these type of cover tracks. (Though usually a bit more towards the 90's Darkwave style or at least a bit more synths) Speaking of Industrial bands with a set of solid covers alongside their actual music.....
  4. I should eventually get around to posting one of the other tracks from Suspiria, it's a lot weirder of an OST than the title track may give it. On your own time, I will recommend "Witch" and "Sighs", though the pair of "Black Forest" and "Blind Concert" should also be noted. Soundtrack is amazing tbh, the theme seems to have been mostly improvised from what Goblin themselves said on a commentary with the 40th anniversary edition. (Though I still heavily disagree with some of your points, but I digress) Speaking of spooky season though, here's a Halloween classic from Ministry, a band that after this track went onto become an influential act in the Industrial Metal sector. Somehow, despite how far and away this is from their normal sound, this remains their most well known track and a regular in the Goth clubs
  5. So new guy at work apparently seems to be pretty good, which means I might finally be able to open less and hold my sanity back together

  6. I was not expecting THAT to be what I recalled out of Gladiator....... Anyway, yeah, I did feel the same when I first heard it, but that sort of Sisters of Mercy drum sound is something I associate way too much with this genre to immediately think of otherwise one of my favorite songs of all time. Anyway, speaking of the Sisters of Mercy and how they have practically influenced every band I mentioned in my reply to your post on my AMA
  7. Some may be inquired to quickly use the term Goth Rock, I would brand my combination of heavy guitars, clanging drum machines, and vampyric atmospheres as Darkwave. (Basically Goth Rock's club friendly and synth heavy cousin) While my solo output focuses around flashy guitars and simple but big riffs next to the drum machines and organs/synths, my main project meshes together the more rock heavy sounds of past Darkwave bands like Rosetta Stone, Paralysed Age, and Inkubus Sukkubus alongside the sound of more classic horror scores like Halloween, The Omen, and Suspiria. (Funny enough, there is actually a 90's Darkwave act named Suspiria, we love them too) As my name might suggest, the lyrics tend to be more oriented around vampyrism, cults, and killing your boyfriend. As for what prompted me to come? Well, I felt like coming to YCM one day while working with BD on the project mentioned above, we realized YCM was down. I came back later, it still was down. I came back again, I was like "This is getting ridiculous", so I did some research and found this place through a reddit post.
  8. So this is pretty slick. I do like the mechanic here, there are some interesting shenanigans here for sure, and I find it pretty bemusing. Most of it is pretty simple as well, which I like for the most part but it also makes the higher Level ones slightly tricky and getting multiple on the field tricky as well, though the Spells and Aerainbol certainly do help. Speaking of, I do feel a little underwhelmed that some of the Cont Spells and the Field Spell don't do anything after they are activated. Pretty odd, quite honestly, though what they do is quite helpful. That being said, I assume this is to have them work with say Vandalism to get some effects going, which is a pretty interesting design choice. This almost makes me wish Vandalism was more searchable, as it could really help with getting the Deck going, as it doesn't seem to be the fastest thing in the world. Outside of that though, this is fairly well rounded and not a ton to say about the cards individually. I can dig it!
  9. Yui, I can't pinpoint the exact song, but that Gladiator hook sounds familiar to me to, OMG it is going to kill me. It is kind of played out for me tbh, then again I am sure I listen to a lot more Symphonic/Gothic Metal than most people. Anyway, here's some glossy but sinister Darkwave, have fun!
  10. I have so many new cards for this up and coming fic I got, it's sometimes a little tricky which card I should upload for the day. I should start posting Sets soon, I'm sure some of them would be well received.

  11. Even if we go back to GX days when Camula reigned, the Vampire mechanic always had the issue of being battle reliant, so even back then backrow was an issue when it came to cards like Sakuretsu and Mirror Force, or even Torrential Tribute when these monsters hit the field at all. This really is a universal issue that walked over them for a minute, and is most likely what led Vampire Lord to go from being Limited to being Unlimited rather quickly. This is actually based on the original text of Infernalvania itself, in which the turn player can discard the Zombie to clear the board of monsters, but cannot Normal Summon/Set that turn. I personally felt like either Infernalvania would be a bit too much or it didn't really further what Vampires needed to push themselves further, so the idea was to design an in-theme version that did what was needed. In spite of maybe being a format or two late to make best use of this, I also minded how cards like ArmaKnight and Dark Grepher are still engine pieces to certain combos and I think this sort of card puts those type of Decks...... in their place while Vampires do their thing. I also think it is why I would personally think Grinning Grave Virus is not a terrible tech for a Trancelvania-centric Vampire build. This is funny because when the card was originally designed, it did have this clause. However, me and BD ultimately worked up new Vampire support that incorporates this card as its own entity. I will be posting the Set soon, I was posting this opening card as a way to test the waters and make sure this card was alright.
  12. Super Vehicroid - Mass Transit 11/EARTH/Machine/Fusion 2500/3500 3 "roid" Machine monsters When this card is Special Summoned: You can negate the effects of all other face-up monsters on the field, except Fusion Monsters. Once per turn, when a "roid" monster you control battles an opponent's monster: You can switch each battling monster's ATK with its respective DEF. When this Fusion Summoned card on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 Level 10 or lower Machine Fusion Monster in your GY; Special Summon it, ignoring its Summoning conditions, and if you do, switch its ATK/DEF. Megaroid Factory Continuous Spell Card When this card is activated: You can target 1 "roid" Machine monster in your GY, except a WIND monster: Special Summon it, and if you do, it gains 500 ATK/DEF, also it is unaffected by Trap effects. If all face-up cards you control are "roid" cards and/or Fusion Monsters: You can target 1 other card you control: send 1 "roid" card from your Deck to the GY, and if you do, that targeted card is unaffected by the effects of cards with the same card type (Monster, Spell or Trap) as the sent card, until the end of the next turn. You can only use each effect of "Megaroid Factory" once per turn. Monsters and Vampires, We are out to round 3 of NCM singles with a support, or rather a pair this time, for one of the most underwhelming archetypes imaginable: Vehicroids. The first thing of note here is our new Fusion, Mass Transit. Perhaps the most important thing about this card more than anything is that this is finally a "roid" Fusion that is not requiring a specific material or particularly clunky. You can run the good "roid" monsters, you can get your mats into this, and it's pretty solid with Connection Zone. Since Megaroid City technically can search any "roid" card, you could actually use Terrortop to facilitate some easier mats for the card, and Expressroid could fetch whatever materials you use back pretty easily. This is further assisted by the second card I present, Megaroid Factory. Not only does this get your "roid" Machines back to use for more materials for the Megazord, but it also works alongside "roid" monsters like Expressroid and Ambulanceroid, or for Tribute Summoning Armoroid if that truly is your calling. The mill not only makes Mixeroid more easily to send and therefore more easily live, but offers some slight protection for the monsters you keep on the field over the next turn. Combine this with Mass Transit and/or Mobile Base and some backrow and you have a pretty sizeable beast. Neither of these cards are a be-all-end-all solutions to all of the problems associated with Vehicroids, we could spend all day going through those, but this is a start to connect Syrus' smiling machinery.
  13. Trancelvania Field Spell Once per turn, during the Main Phase: The turn player can discard 1 "Vampire" Spell/Trap; that player cannot activate the effects of monsters they control for the rest of the turn, except Zombie monsters, also destroy all Spell/Trap Cards in the Spell & Trap Zones. Negate the effects of all cards with the same name as a card in the GY that was sent there from the Deck, except Zombie monsters. Monsters and Vampires, I welcome all round 2 of NCM Singles with a new Vampire support based on one of the most hilarious cards in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime. Not only is this card designed to do some backrow clearing shenanigans that I'm sure would help LP Vampires, but it also features a lock effect that works together with the classic Vampire strategy from cards such as Vampire Lord and expanded later upon with cards like Vampire Duke and Grace. Admittedly a rather "go big or go home" type of card, but also a fairly interesting one. Discuss? A big shoutout to BDSceptyr, who I am working on the coming fic this card will eventually be making its way to, and who helped me find art and used this sparkly Photoshop-friendly card template to give me the card posted in the spoiler.
  14. In spite of how much smaller this community seems, I do appreciate how there seems to be a sense of community around it. Everybody liking each other's posts and they seem to make their way around the forum, not just one or two sections. I think I can dig it, and hopefully there is room for it to grow

    1. yui

We've also gotten some newbies under our wing since the site went up, though they mostly just keep to one section which is fine. Was hoping the way some things were done with the Halloween Masquerade could help draw them out to get more in with the community as a whole, but no such luck yet.

We're steadily gaining around 3 members a day on average too, so that's nice.

  15. Since we are talking old school, EDrags/Edrags/edrags/E-Drags is/was a popular one for Dragon Rulers, as they originally were called Elemental Dragons in the OCG.
