Raidraptor - Wild Vulture
DARK - ✪✪✪✪✪✪ - Winged Beast/Effect - 1600/2000

During your Main Phase, if this card was Normal or Special Summoned this turn: You can reduce this card's Level by 3, and if you do, Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Raidraptor" monster from your hand or GY, but negate its effects.

Works going into the Link, and acts as a ladder. You don't need 2 of the Level 3 monsters any more.

Agave Dragon

EARTH
Wyrm/Link/Effect

L4/3000

2+ monsters, except Tokens

If this card is Link Summoned: You can apply these effects in sequence, depending on the Types of monsters in the GYs (skip over any that do not apply). You can only use this effect of “Agave Dragon” once per turn.

● Inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each Dragon.

● This card gains 400 ATK for each Dinosaur.

● All monsters your opponent currently controls lose 600 ATK for each Sea Serpent.

● You gain 800 LP for each Wyrm.

Honestly, I think the flavor is fine, and it would be an enormous hassle to balance it when a majority of Link 4s are just better anyway. I think completely remaking it makes it lose some unique flavor, thus I just changed some numbers around to make it more impactful.

Carboneddon

EARTH/Dinosaur-Type Effect Monster/✪✪✪/800 ATK/600 DEF

Lore: (Quick Effect): You can reveal this card from your hand, then target 1 Dinosaur monster you control, except a WATER monster; Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, that targeted monster gains 1000 ATK until the End Phase. You can only Special Summon "Carboneddon" once per turn this way. If this card battles a FIRE monster, it gains 1000 ATK until the end of the Damage Step. You can banish this card from your GY: Special Summon from your hand or Deck, 1 Level 7 or lower Dragon or Dinosaur Normal Monster in Defense Position, and if you do, it cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects this turn. You can only use this effect of "Carboneddon" once per turn.

BD'Switchlog:

  1. So this fella now self-Summons and boosts another Dino, no way that laddering Dino power combined with some choice Tuners leads to bordering-on-to-actually-degenerate stuff no bob siree
  2. And its ATK gain doesn't trigger, good luck smoking it for getting decent ATK NOW, Ghost Ogre
  3. Also, it summons vanilla Dinos to, and gives it destruction immunity-the maraschino cherry on top

LIGHT/Lv 1/Insect/Effect/100 ATK/200 DEF

Cannot be Tributed or used as Material for a Summon. You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by banishing 1 Insect monster from your GY, and if you do, place 1 Radiation Counter on this card. During each player's End Phase; place 1 Radiation Counter on this card. This card gains 500 ATK for every Radiation Counter on it. While this card has a Radiation Counter(s) on it, it is unaffected by your opponent's card effects. If this card with a Radiation Counter(s) is destroyed by battle; inflict 1000 damage to your opponent, also, banish 1 card your opponent controls for every 3 Radiation Counters this card had while on the field.

Total rewrite because wtf were they thinking originally

Made the effect align with the anime because that's cool

excluding the catapult launch because memes

Yellow Luster Shield
[Continuous Spell]

Defense Position monsters you control are unaffected by your opponent's card effects until after damage calculation of a battle involving them. All monsters you control gain 500 DEF.

It was nothing but a chump stat increase for the most reactive stat out there so, big rework.
Your opponent needs to face your walls before affecting them, allowing battle traps and whatnot to kick in and flips to go off.

If you control no monsters, you can activate this card from your hand. Discard 1 card; this turn, any damage you take from your opponent's cards and effects becomes 0, also each time an opponent's card or effect that would inflict damage to you resolves, you immediately draw 1 card. You can only activate 1 "Hallowed Life Barrier" per turn.

Lore: FLIP: Each player can banish up to 3 monsters from their opponent's GY, then you can draw 1 card for every 3 Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and/or Ritual Monsters banished this way.                             If this card is sent to the GY by, or to activate, the effect of a monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck: You can Special Summon 1 "Dimension Jar" from your Deck in face-up or face-down Defense Position, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use this effect of "Dimension Jar" once per turn.

BD'Switchlog:

  • This time, with benefits from banishing!
  • And also, it can duplicate once if used for an EX-Deck monster-by effect or to it.

You can remove up to 2 Spell Cards in your Graveyard from play to increase the ATK of this monster by 300 points for each card removed from play until the end of your opponent's next turn. Gains 300 ATK for each Spell with a different name in  your GY. You can banish as many Spells from your GY with different names as possible; Your opponent sends that many Spells from their Deck to the GY(or all of them, if fewer). This effect can only be used once during your turn.

Tongue Twister

DARK/Level 6/Fiend-Type/Effect/ATK 400/DEF 300

If you control no monsters: You can Normal Summon this card from your hand without Tributing, and if you do, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn. If this Normal Summoned card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can banish this card from your Graveyard; draw 2 cards from your Deck.

I basically tried to make it so that you can still profit by either tributing this card as a cost for cards like Enemy Controller, Dark Spirit Art - Greed, Tyrant's Temper, etc., while preventing abuse by locking down Link Summons. Not sure if it's any more playable this way, but I gave it a shot!

Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can return to the hand any number of "Gouki" monsters you control, then target the same number of cards your opponent controls; they have their effects negated until the end of this turn. This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls, once each. If your opponent controls more face-up monster(s) than you do, this card can only target their monster with the highest ATK for attacks (your choice, if tied).

Binary Sorceress

EARTH/Cyberse-Type Link Effect Monster/Link-2/1600 ATK

Link Arrows: Left/Right

Lore: 2 monsters, except Tokens
This card gains these effects depending on the number of monsters linked with it and/or the number of Cyberse monsters with more ATK that this card that it points to.
✪ 1+: If your opponent takes battle damage from a battle involving this card or a monster this card is linked to, you gain that much LP.
✪ 2: Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can target 2 face-up monsters you control; the ATK of 1 of those monsters becomes half its current ATK, and if it does, the other monster gains that lost ATK, then if that other monster is a Cyberse Link Monster, it can make an additional attack during each Battle Phase this turn. These changes last until the end of this turn.

BD'Switchlog:

  • This time, it also gained an effect from Binary Blader, once elusive from an anime-exclusive. (okay I'm trying over 'ere cut me a break)
  • Also, this card's activation conditions are far looser-you only have to have a linked monster this time, or a Cyberse monster with more ATK than it.
  • And the battle condition applies on any battle damage they take-from either Binary or anything its linked with.

If your opponent inflicts damage to you while you control no cards: You can Special Summon this card from your hand in face-down Defense Position, and if you do, you take no further battle damage this turn. You can only use this effect of "Dark Cat With White Tail" once per Duel.

BD'Switchlog:

  • Burns your opponent too.
  • Can self-summon on the fly, on an empty field, once per Duel.
  • And it nullifies battle damage as wel for the rest of the turn, basically becoming an in-hand Waboku (and a public-domain Siquiltous)

A monster Synchro Summoned using this card as Material gains 500 ATK and DEF, also, once per Battle Phase, if that monster would be destroyed (by battle or card effect), it is not destroyed. If a monster you control battles an opponent's monster (Quick Effect): You can; immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 monster from your Extra Deck, using this card from your hand or face-up on your side of the field and your battling monster as Synchro Material. Lore: You can discard 1 "Chow Chow Chan": Special Summon this card from your GY. When your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card or monster effect in response to your monster's attack or card effect that targets a monster(s) they control (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card.

BD'Switchlog:

  • So now you can use spare Chow Chows to summon used Chow Chows.
  • This effect now affects ANY card or effect that would be activated in response to an effect of yours that targets a monster your opponent controls; whether for attack or by effect.
  • And it can also activate if you make multiple targets, including a monster they control. Tis' important.

Unbreakable Spirit

Normal Trap

Target a monster you control; until the end of this turn, it gains ATK equal to the ATK of the monster your opponent currently controls with the lowest ATK (your choice, if tied). You can only activate 1 "Unbreakable Spirit" per turn.

The "needing only 1" thing is kinda nonsense, especially since better atk boosters exist. However, put a hard OPT to dodge potential 3x honest drop style shenanigans.

Bending Destiny
Counter Trap
When a monster(s) would be Summoned, OR a Spell/Trap Card or monster effect is activated, while you control a "Fortune Lady" monster(s); negate the Summon or activation, and if you do, banish that card, but return it to its owner's hand at the end of this turn, also, while that card is banished by this effect, neither player can activate cards or effects with the same name as that card.

Errata Notes: Now works on all kinds of (inherent) Summons and also monster effects, as well as lessening the Xenophobic requirements by needing at least 1 "Fortune Lady" regardless of what other monsters you control (in case you wanted to also play "Fortune Fairies", maybe, idk).  Also keeps the banished card from being a factor for the rest of the current turn and prevents your opponent from using the effects of that card's name (you, too, but it's whatever).

If this card is in your GY, you can Tribute any number of Fiend monsters on your side of the field: Special Summon this card, then gain 400 LP for each monster tributed by this effect.

Kinda made it into a generic support for Fiend archetypes, I guess.

Cannot be Special Summoned. During the End Phase of the turn this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up: Return it to the hand. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: Your opponent skips their next Draw Phase. You must control no other cards to activate and to resolve this effect.
