Vanity & Envy
DARK
[Spellcaster/Link/Effect]
Link Rating:2
Link Arrows: ⬋ (SW), ⬊ (SE)
ATK: 0

2 monsters with the same name

While you control monsters other than "Vanity and Envy", this card cannot be targeted for attacks or by card effect. (Quick Effect): You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; Special Summon 1 "Reflection Token" (Fiend/LIGHT/Level 1/ATK ?/ DEF 0) (When Summoned, its ATK becomes equal to the current ATK of the target +100). You can only use this effect of "Vanity & Envy" once per turn.

Spoiler

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Mirror_(Snow_White)

So it is suppose to be based off of the evil queen along with the magic mirror in Snow White. It portrays the evil queen's vanity, and her desire to be "The Fairest of them all" (Hence why the Token would be one step stronger than possibly the strongest monster on your opponent's board).

I really like this card's preminse and the Typing of that Token. Plus, it doesn't have blanket protection, so non targeting removal like Raigeki can get the job done. Summoning requirements may be tricky with Main Deck monsters. Something like XX-Saber Boggart Knight for example could do it. Though I'd imagine most of the time you'd assemble it with Tokens. In any case, I feel that the Token Summoning shoulf have a cost. Perhaps 800 LP to balance things out a little? In any case, an interesting generic Link 2 that I'd happily try. Just questionable balance is all.

Indeed, it may be tricky to Summon with main deck monsters but... you can use effects that Summon multiple Tokens with the same name, namely Scapegoat and Phantom Skyblaster. IDK if that's a problem but I don't think it would be too game-breaking. For instance, it would translate to an extra monster on board from Scapegoat if the opponent controls a monster to target, which can potentially be a big beater. To be safe you can always add an "except Tokens" clause on the material requirements, but again, IDK if you can get away without it.

my psct-fu is out of date since i haven't made a yugioh card in a few years but sometimes you relisten to a banger song and remember that there's a yugioh archetype with a similar name and while you want to make a shitpost but also you want to put some effort into it and make it look nice. that's not just me, right? for the stats i just stole from danger! chupacabra since the effects are similar.

If this card is sent from the hand or field to the GY: You can Ritual Summon 1 Non-Effect Ritual Monster from your Deck. This effect of "Angelfood" can only be used once per turn.

The result of some drawing practice I felt like making into a full card. A pretty straightforward effect that's probably significantly more powerful than I imagine it to be. But hey, those dusty Performance of the Swords and Crab Turtles in your box of old cards deserve some love.

      Trap Card
Tribute 1 face-up monster on either side of the field: Its controller can Special Summon 1 monster from their hand or Deck with the same Type and Attribute and an ATK or DEF greater than the tributed card. Card effects cannot be activated for the rest of this turn, except for the effects of a monster Special Summoned by this card. You can only activate 1 "Power Creep" per turn.

Spent a while trying to come up with an effect for the image. If you have any more fitting ideas, let me know.
