Otaku-sama 31 Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) Spoiler PERSONAL INFORMATION Name: Rorrick Pinehill Age: 24 Sex: Male Place of Origin: Pikeman’s Pot, a small hamlet of 100-150 people, dominated by the Pinehill family farm and ranch. APPEARANCE 6’ 5”, thin and wiry build, farmer’s tan, dark hair and eyes. Has a makeshift coat of arms featuring a hoe, a shepherd’s crook and a pinecone. Rorrick’s preferred weapon is his guisarme, a polearm made from a repurposed farming scythe blade with an added fork to allow thrusting and the binding of weapon and limb. Also carries a crossbow and a few handaxes made from woodcutting axes. Generally seen wearing his makeshift armor, consisting of a solid steel breastplate, shoulder plates reclaimed from another set of armor and a heavy leather wrap to protect his legs. His coat of arms is painted by hand on the front of his breastplate and stitched in white thread on the back of his leather wrap. PERSONALITY Bold, headstrong and very sociable, Rorrick has a tendency to befriend most people he meets. Not very well educated outside of his current areas of expertise and tends to be easily outsmarted and outmaneuvered. Relishes a friendly round of sparring or wrestling, but prefers to avoid actual life-and-death struggle with other people. Loves to seek out and slay large beasts and monsters, both to keep others safe from them and for bragging rights later. BACKGROUND Rorrick grew up as the third son out of a family of 14 children, with 8 brothers and 5 sisters. The Pinehills owned the largest farm in the hamlet and were very generous with their wealth, sharing it with all members of the hamlet. Rorrick worked the fields and tended the animals alongside the farmhands, who shared stories of adventurers and of the great treasure that lay within deep caves. Occasionally, Rorrick would interact with the group of mercenaries that protected the hamlet, who mentored Rorrick and taught him out to fight and how to tend wounds. Rorrick, knowing that he will likely not inherit the farm, decided to strike out as an adventurer. While resistant at first, eventually his parents allowed him to go, providing him with what equipment they could muster. [Stiff Upper Lip]: Increased tolerance to physical pain, able to fight through the pain of moderate injury without loss of combat efficiency. SKILLS Arms and Armor Knowledge: Rorrick has learned how to use and make arms and armor through a great deal of self study and guidance from the mercenaries and the smith. He has made his current equipment himself from farming equipment and salvaged scraps of armor. First Aid/Field Medicine Knowledge: Rorrick has learned medicine from the mercenaries, practicing on injured farm hands and sick animals. He knows how to dress wounds, set bones, stitch up deep cuts and resuscitate the unconscious. ARTS Exceed | 1 MP: Rorrick instantly channels his mana to empower his body, briefly giving him superhuman strength and speed.Requirements: Role: Melee Cure Wounds | 1 MP: Rorrick briefly channels his mana to provide a short healing effect. Rorrick must touch the target to deliver the healing effect. The charm closes cuts, slows bleeding, clears bruises and mends bone, but only for a few seconds at a time.Requirements: None Folk Remedy | 3 MP: Rorrick combines his First Aid knowledge with the Cure Wounds charm to enhance natural healing. When applied correctly, the herbs and alchemical reagents hold the mana and release it over a night's rest, causing the target to experience greatly increased natural healing. This Art requires at least 10 minutes to cast, with the application of splints, poultices and bandages being a part of the casting.Requirement: First Aid/Field Medicine Knowledge Blood for Blood | 1 MP: Rorrick makes a reckless attack that always results in him taking a hit, but allowing him to attack his opponent’s weakest spot.
