Krow Watches Your Recommendations

Recommended Posts

I've got lots of free time these days. Recommend me a show or movie to watch and I'll watch three episodes of it and then give you a rating. Preferably no weird shit, any style or genre is cool.

Most of the non-anime stuff I watch is not really series, a lot of cooking and house and game show stuff

Guy's Grocery Games is my jam atm but idk if you can easily watch that

idk how much anime you've watched so I'll throw out something that I feel non-anime people could get into too, Haikyuu

Is non-anime person another word for gaijin. Added to the queue, will start it tomorrow. It has a high rating so it's gotta be good

now that thanksgiving is over, idk if you mind B&W visuals but for the holiday season I'd recommend

"It's A Wonderful Life" (movie, 1946, dir. Frank Capra, star. Jimmy Stewart) widely considered (among people older than me, yeah I kinda gravitate that way with my taste) one of the best movies for the Christmas season

all I'm going to say about the plot and premise of the movie is, although it's one of those movies where it starts near the end of the timeline and then flashes back for most of the movie, nevertheless it's one of those movies where things don't quite click into place until the ending sequence.

so please avoid possible spoiler exposure if you can, not only because of that but knowing the opening predicament/what-comes-after going in kinda kills the vibe and impact. I'll admit that the movie has both bright spots and also delves into darker ones, but the effect is the bright moments shine that much more from the juxtaposition and the emotional sincerity of the movie (as compared to, let's say, a Russo Bros script or whatever)

for comparison, a similar contrast effect, strong human element, and need to avoid spoilers is also crucial to "The Shawshank Redemption" which if you haven't seen that one yet, wtf are you doing with your spare time?

sorry if these two are both familiar to you, I can put up here something else if you want
