Loading .json not working on phone?

AquaSG

Question

Maybe this was asked before (altough I searched and no one has had this problem apparently), but does the "Open" option to load your .json files work on android? It is frustrating going to another tab in the browser to search something and when I come back everything is default again, and if I save and try to load, nothing happens.

Is this a problem for other phone users as well?

Just checked this out on my phone out of curiosity, since I happen to also have an android and this sounded like an oddly specific problem. As far as I can tell, the phone saves what's supposed to be the card's .json file as a .txt file instead (and I have no damn clue where it's going, but it's there), and then when you try to load your cards, the browser's loader is trying to find .jsons that don't exist because they're .txts. I'm using mobile Firefox if that's worth noting.

As for how to fix it, assuming the .txt issue isn't a problem even more specific to my phone in particular... that'll probably require something on @Ash or @Yemachu's end.

A JSON and TXT file should more or less output the same, so it should just be a case of renaming the file extension which off the top of my head I don't know how easy is to do on Android.

Worth noting that my Pixel 8 Plus with Chrome seems to download to .json file.

It is the first time I've seen this issue documented. When using Chrome on mobile, it downloads as ".json" just fine; Firefox does seem to result in ".txt" files. I don't know what other browsers do, nor what is causing this discrepancy.

It is worth noting that the card maker does not particularly care about the file extension beyond suggesting to open such a file. If your phone's operating system allows picking other file types, it should be able to open a text file just as well.
