Girl's Afternoon

"What you had a specific kind of action in mind?" Morgan said in a huff. "If you wanted something specific you should have said so from the start." Rolling her eyes she headed in to get the tickets for the movie. "And I bet I'm older than you." She said towards Ross with a scowl. "Both of you are so disrespectful. You wouldn't last a day in my home."

They entered the theater and Morgan had to admit it was more than she expected. "Even my father's private movie theater didn't have floating seats." She said. "Come on, I want to be in the front." She declared and went towards the front row. Which, they could see, was half filled.

Though when Morgan reached the front she smiled up at a trio in the center. "Hello there, I believe there was a mistake, those seats are for me and my..." She glanced at the other two. "Them. Could you be so kind as to let us take them?"

One of them gasped and said something in a hushed whisper to the other two, pointing at Morgan, who was glowing with joy at the attention. They then moved down several seats. Morgan sat herself down in the seat and gestured for the other two. "Well? What are you waiting for?"

---

The movie itself began with Jax "The Max" being launched out of the 30th floor of a building by an explosion, landing inside of a helicopter, killing the pilot, and crashing the helicopter into another helicopter while he dove into a river.

As it turned out the movie was about a former military operative who was being framed for the murder of a mafia boss and the CEO of a toy company. So he was on the run from both the law and the mob. While the true criminal was Jax's mother's half-brother who was also a cyborg and one of the richest men in the world. A man who solved all of his problems with money and scoffed at the idea of fighting man to man.

The movie was full of over the top violence and explosions. The ending of the movie involved Jax encountering the main villain, who turned out to also be the president's twin brother, on a spaceship. The end of the fight had them both in spacesuits fighting on the wreckage of the spaceship that had crashed into a nearby moon, which was set to explode in five minutes. The killing blow was dealt when Jax got a hold of one of the villain's credit cards and threw it into the villain's helmet, cracking the visor and exposing him to the ravages of space. The last line of the movie was Jax looking into the camera and declaring "I guess his card was...Maxed Out."

---

Morgan had been on the edge of her seat during the entire movie and, when the credits rolled, she let out a cheer. Then, looking at the other two, cleared her throat. "Well, that wasn't bad, I guess."

Aria

Much to Aria's surprise, the Hospital's interior was, well, a hospital. It was nothing more than a normal-ass hospital that she would expect to see in the real world, and this fact alone was starting to weird her out. At least the various people crowding the place were as normal for this world as ever, but that only caused them to stand out more in contrast to their surroundings. After being stopped by fans a few times, they made their way to the receptionist who turned out to be a virtual hologram. At least something to make this place feel properly other-worldly.

"Oh, Masaru, we have been expecting you. Dr. Akoola is waiting in room 309, on the third floor. If you'd like we could have a guide-bot escort you to the room." As she spoke a small, pill-shaped, robot with clamp-like hands attached to spindly arms came through a tube in the wall and hovered nearby.

Aria looked at the robot and blinked. Thinking of how Masaru handled managing his watch earlier, she figured that letting him run off on his own with a small robot was likely to result in more trouble.

"You know what, that's fine. I know how to navigate room numbers; I can help him find it," Aria said somewhat nervously. "C'mon, let's hurry up before you sneeze up a storm."

Day 8, ?:00, Movie Theater
Points: 61

W/L Record: 3/3

Was it really okay for Morgan to use her position as an arena fighter to pressure people into giving her front-row seats at the movies? At the very least, it wasn't something you'd call someone else to crack down on, but it felt... a bit wrong. But on the other hand, front-row seats! And it wasn't like she could just undo that or anything either. Best to just roll with it. Luckily, there were open seats scattered enough around here. She could definitely get through the whole thing no problem.

"I'll probably be moving around the theater a lot," Aurora warned as she took a seat. "It's a problem with my power that keeps me from sitting in one place too long."

And as she'd warned, Aurora moved around the theater to different empty seats quite a bit during the movie. She took care to wait for the moments of down-time between action scenes though, and made extra-sure that she was back with Morgan and Ross for the climactic final battle between Jax and the president's twin. It was a fun experience. The movie was good, and Aurora got to meet a few different people while watching it. Some of whom recognized her from her Arena fights, even! She had to admit, the recognition brought a warm fuzzy feeling to her. That was the kind of thing she was looking forward to with being a hero, along with the actual hero stuff, so getting it here too felt nice.

"Well, that wasn't bad, I guess."

"It was great!" Aurora cheered. She wasn't even sure which scene to start with. The start of the movie really threw down a good first impression, and it just got better and better from there! "The car chase scene was cool, right?" The one where Jax had to chase down an armed monster truck with his own car, weaving and bobbing through traffic crushed under the monster truck's wheels. Aurora was always pretty partial toward car scenes though. "And the fight at the end, wow! And um, thanks for paying for the tickets. I'm a bit short on points right now." But she'd be fixing that soon enough!

"What else should we do? Some shopping maybe? I haven't really had a girls day out before, so I don't know what to do with them besides what you see on TV."

"That's the spirit! Let's go."

Honestly, Gavin wasn't expecting to spend his time hanging with Cyan of all people. The guy seemed like the type to hate his guts, but then again, being this "Lion Sin of Pride" probably would do that to a guy and give him the air of being someone who was quite the jerk and an down right ass. Luckily, that wasn't the case.

Nevertheless, he followed the demon towards the bar and he watched him make a beeline straight for a few empty seats at the bar itself. With a bit of a shrug, he followed suit and sat up at the bar. It seemed like something had caught Cyan's eye, but Gavin made no such effort to ask. Didn't feel like prying on this guy's obvious search or examining of whatever.

"Hey, ya know anything about her? Never seen her around these parts... and I'm very familiar with these parts."

"Hm?" Gavin looked in the direction that Cyan motioned towards, seeing the girl in question. "Sorry to say, but she doesn't look very familiar to myself either. Could have VEX do a possible facial recognition search...but that may actually take too long."

"You would be correct, Gavin."

"What, did you think I'd not take into consideration that things like that would be a bit difficult for you?" he chuckled, before shrugging. "If anything, I could have my Surveillance-Bots possibly do some recon for us if need be...but to answer you, Cyan, I don't know anything about her."

As the group had been looking for seats, Morgan made something pretty clear that the demon hunter was not yet aware of. Though she knew they were some kind of fighter for sport, Ross hadn't realized yet that that came with the same kind of clout that being a sports celebrity from back home did. And Morgan herself seemed to be at least well known amongst the people of the theater to use, or abuse, it. Granted, Ross figured with her personality there was hardly a person who wouldn't know of her yet. All the same, while it was far  different then something Ross was used to, there was a likely zero percent chance of anyone here actually knowing who she was, and thus she sat down and waited to see what would be playing on the big screen.

Ross sat back in her chair at first, watching impassively as the movie went on, only seeming to be distracted as Aurora had got up and seemed to shuffle around the seats. While confused about it, she didn't really pay much mind to it and simply kept her eyes forward on the screen. With the amount of gratuitous violence that the film opened up with, Ross wasn't expecting much from the film outside of some good action scenes here and there. And though her expression didn't really change through the film, it was clear that she was more and more engrossed with it as time as went on, barely able to take her attention off the screen.

When the film had reached the end, Ross let out an impressed whistle, giving a small round of applause, only to smile at the more enthusiastic cheering that the girl next to her let out. As they were walking out, Ross agreed with the others saying, "yeah, I wasn't expecting much going in, but it turned out great." More to that, though, the atmosphere of being in a theater, being with others and all standing captivated in the same spectacle - it had been something she didn't realize she actually missed as much as she had. All the same, the question of where next to go came up. As Aurora made her suggestion, Ross had thought about it, trying to pull on her own references about what to do on a girl's day.

Only, she didn't really have much. Morgan's interests were generally too dangerous to suggest. Kira wasn't really the hanging out type. Oculus didn't have free time. And with Salvo- well, none of them really had a car to go joy riding with. If any of them even had licenses to being with. As she had thought about it, Ross herself wasn't exactly the social butterfly type. So really, her only references were TV as well. "Sure shopping -well, maybe window shopping, sounds fine. There's a mall nearby, right? So let's go check out that."

"What else should we do? Some shopping maybe? I haven't really had a girls day out before, so I don't know what to do with them besides what you see on TV."

"Sure shopping -well, maybe window shopping, sounds fine. There's a mall nearby, right? So let's go check out that."

Morgan, similarly to the other two, didn't really know what groups of girls usually did together. But she wasn't about to let them know that.

She tossed her hair and smirked smugly at the two of them. "Oh you poor things. You have so much to learn." Placing a hand on her chest she led the way. "Thankfully you have the best teacher. You'd be hopeless without me."

The mall was bustling that day. So much so that people didn't even notice the Arena Fighters as they walked through the place. Morgan, still leading the way, went straight to a shop that sold various figures. They seemed fairly pricey but Morgan was "ooh" and "aah"ing over them.

She ended up focusing on one figure that seemed to be some sort of character.

The witch glanced at the price. 75 Points. She then looked at her watch. After the movies she only had 60 points. She looked at the figure again. Then the watch. Then the shopkeep. She wondered briefly if she could convince him to lower the price...then, with a pout, stood up and started out the door. She wasn't used to not being able to buy just whatever she wanted and the fact that this eluded her frustrated her completely.

"I need food anyway let's get out of here." Morgan said stiffly.

She noticed that there was a gathering of a large crowd near the fountain in the middle of the mall. It wasn't very difficult to see why. Security guards were keeping people back from a group of what could only be described as humanoid plants. From the brief time Morgan spent here she recognized them as the ultra popular boyband Plants in Pants.

With the mall having been decided on and Morgan being the one to lead the way, the trio made their way from the theater to there. Ross whistled at the sight of the building, both due to the size of it inside and the crowd that had gathered around in the building. Walking around, she examined each of the shops they passed by but mostly just followed their "leader's" way, who had beelined it to a figure shop. Ross wasn't nearly taken by them as her witch companion, and instead seemed to be more so impressed that there were hobby shops like this on this foreign city more than anything else. Ross had then watched Morgan as she seemed to come across a figure that struck her interest, though, from the faces she was making it was clearly out of her price range. Ross seemed surprised, however, as the witch girl seemed to just to suck it up and walk away. "Impressive," she muttered, half expecting some kind of tantrum to follow.

All the same, the group eventually made their way out of the shop and continued through the mall. Ross, and likely the other's, attention however was arrested by the large of crowd of what the girl could only imagine of raving fans. And the reason why was what appeared to be some kind of boy band...of plants. Ross had to double take as she laid her eyes upon a trio of sentient plants in pants, and then back to the crowd. The girl was certainly weirded out by the whole exchange, though more so because she was reminded yet again how strikingly similar yet different her world was from this one. While the plant boyband didn't really interest Ross, a bit to the opposite really, she looked to see that one of her fellow female companions seemed all too overjoyed by the sight. Looking to Morgan, then back to Aurora with a slightly defeated look on her face Ross sighed as she started walking forward. "Well, it looks like our way to food is blocked off by this crowd, so I guess the only way to it is through them." With that, Ross walked into the crowd towards the boy band.

"Sure shopping -well, maybe window shopping, sounds fine. There's a mall nearby, right? So let's go check out that."

"Oh you poor things. You have so much to learn. Thankfully you have the best teacher. You'd be hopeless without me."

Was Morgan popular in her world too or something? That could be why she was taking to this so naturally, right? Some window-shopping at the mall then ensued. Morgan seemed upset at not being able to afford a figure, but overall, it looked like she was taking it well enough. Aurora, for one, had her eyes on clothes. Something stylish, but still functional, and most importantly, warm. Nothing that caught her eye seemed to meet all three of those criteria. Maybe she could do some online shopping later? For now though, there was a different issue. The big crowd between them and the food court, gathered around a boy band... of plants?

Come to think of it, haven't I seen these guys on posters around the city before?

They certainly had a look she wouldn't easily forget, and they did look familiar enough for that to be the case. The posters must have been ads for this very show.

"Well, it looks like our way to food is blocked off by this crowd, so I guess the only way to it is through them."

That didn't seem right. Checking around betwen herself and the other two fighters, Ross seemed pretty unenthusiastic about going through the crowd. She wasn't really sure what to make of Morgan's look. Couldn't they just go over? Aurora could make a platform and bring it up and over and... but the hassle of it all in a crowded area like this... "I guess it is," Aurora agreed, after a bit of hesitation. Gesturing for the witch to follow herself and the not-a-vampire-she-still-had-to-ask-what-the-deal-with-the-blood-was, Aurora said "Come on. And try not to get lost in the crowd."

...come to think of it, did the Plants photosynthesize? Or did they eat by ingesting food like animals do? And why were they so popular? Was it just because of the novelty of a boy band made of plants? There were a lot of questions springing up in Aurora's mind all of a sudden about these guys. Right now though, something else was bugging her. Best to ask right now.

"Hey, Ross, you said you weren't a vampire earlier, right? I've been wondering, if you're not a vampire, what are you?"

Girl's Afternoon

"Well, it looks like our way to food is blocked off by this crowd, so I guess the only way to it is through them."

"Come on. And try not to get lost in the crowd."

"Wait what?" Morgan said in surprise. These two really were just going to...and there they went. Shouldering their way through the crowd. With a loud groan she followed behind, trying to keep close so that they would have to be the ones pushing through.

And the crowd pushed back. It seemed everyone thought the three were just trying to get closer to the PiP and so it became a confused mess of everyone trying to go forward but no one being able to.

After a while Morgan, getting frustrated after being knocked around by a bunch of "common fools", decided that enough was enough.

"Okay that's it, you all-ow my foot! You all brought this on yourselves. It's not my fault if anyone gets hurt."

She then closed her eyes and began murmuring words of magic. She stretched her arms out and a dusty wind kicked up. And then a massive skeleton started to form among the crowd.

As the behemoth stood up the people started to scatter in panic. Morgan, sitting on the giant's shoulder, gestured at the two other girls and the skeleton reached down to grab them around the waist and lift them up. "Ah, much better." Morgan said.

Tegur's Bar

As the pair of men got closer towards the bar they could overhear the woman talking with Tegur. "Oh come on now. I know your profits have never been that good. Just let me set up a few machines and I'm certain that we both will make so much more. All I'd need is a small cut of the profits is all."

Tegur shook his head. "Lass I've told you a dozen times I don't want that here. I like where I'm at. Now, is that all? I can't spend my whole day talking business with you."

"Well it's not like you have many patrons right now...Oh." She must have noticed the two because she turned on her stool. "Well, it seems you have some celebrities. Why don't you come sit down instead of standing there gawking?" She gave a sly smile and patted the stool next to her.

Doctor's Office

"Say ahhhh." The voice belonged to a rather young looking doctor.

Masaru and Aria had managed to find their way to the room. Where Dr. Akoola was waiting for them. He had raised an eyebrow as the two entered, Aria seemingly helping Masaru as the boy looked to be out of it. "Well, at least it's not Angela again. But it seems that I'm getting a lot of Mauvache's people in here. I have to say it's kind of stressful to be working on such well loved people." Though he didn't seem all too stressed as he said this. Instead he had a gentle smile on his face as Masaru sat down.

After a quick, rather routine, check up the doctor nodded and adjusted his glasses.

"Best I can tell is your body is yet to be used to the environment of this planet. Surprised it took this long to hit though." He leaned back and typed something into a pad on the wall.

As he waited for the result of whatever it was he looked towards Aria. "You should probably get checked out too if you've had any intimate contact with this young man. It's not airborne but any exchanges of bodily fluids could cause the infection to settle in you as well."

A beeping noise sounded and the doctor reached over to grab a cylinder that had popped up on the desk. He took out a long needle with some purple fluid and leaned in towards Masaru. "This will only sting for a moment. The sickness should clear up by the end of the day. You may experience some side effects though. Dizziness, possible audio hallucinations, but other than that you'll be good to go by tomorrow."

As the trio continued to make their way through the enormous crowd, Ross realized that her crowd dodging skills were quite lacking. Ross had had to navigate a horde of monsters before. She had to navigate a crowd of people in terror from said monsters as well. However, there was nothing that could have prepared her for this. Something that was completely out of the girl who had more or less lived under a rock for years. Boy band fans.

As the girl tried to keep herself from being swallowed by what seemed to be just a monstrous mass of people, she eventually heard Aurora next to her. The girl could only sigh as she asked her question, not really up for explaining what it was she was. While normally "Hunter" would've been good enough, Ross figured that was both far too vague, not very informative and would probably only lead to more questions. In all honesty, the girl herself didn't quite understand what it was she was, and having to go through explaining the whole process was both gross and not something she particularly enjoyed. Perhaps leading with "blood drinker" wasn't her best ice breaker. "It's complicated," she started, "but I guess-"

Before Ross finished her statement, a skeleton had suddenly appeared among the crowd, causing the people to scatter away in a mild panic. Ross was on guard for a moment, herself a bit taken on edge from the creature's appearance, only to them calm down as she realized who on board it. Seeing the witch atop her now freshly created mount, Ross had to admit that she was surprised the girl was more than hot air, even more so by the magic she was using. Even amongst demons, necromancy was a bit of a rare power. Especially at this size. Especially without a corpse. All the same, the girl wasn't super comfortable with being lifted off the ground by the giant boney hand, but seeing that Morgan's intentions were probably one part selfish and one part helpful she figured she had to offer some gratitude saying, "thanks." Thinking on it more  though, and thinking it might bring them in trouble, the girl said, "but, if you didn't want to walk through the crowd, couldn't you just fly over it?" That was a thing Witches did, right?

"Oh right." Turning back to Aurora she continued, "I guess the best you could call me would be a demon. Well," thinking on it for a second she said, "I guess more like a half demon. Not really sure about the ratio of human to demon, to be honest." Curious now herself, though, seeing that Morgan was actually magic and standing next to Aurora was like standing in front of an open freezer, she asked, "how about you two? You got anything not human about you?"

"It's complicated. But I guess-"

Suddenly, Ross was interrupted by the rising of a giant skeleton from the floor, causing the crowd to disperse in a panic! Aurora was fully prepared to fight in that moment, thinking it was some sort of monster attack or something... only to find Morgan sitting atop the thing. This was her doing then. From as much as she understood about Morgan and what sort of magic she could do - it was still weird to think of it as magic and not an inherent power she had - a full-out fight between her and Aurora here would put everyone in danger, themselves included. And Morgan didn't exactly come across as the type to put the skeleton away just because someone asked nicely. Aurora simply accepted these were her circumstances now, as Ross went on to explain that she was some sort of... human-demon hybrid?

How did that even work?

"...with the crowd cleared up, I guess we should go get food?" Aurora squirmed about, trying to slip out of the bony hand that had picked her up. "And I appreciate the lift, but can you put me down?"

Girl's Afternoon

The group made their way out of the crowd, in part due to the crowd having ran off, with the help of the skeleton. While Morgan smirked from atop its shoulder. Looking rather pleased with herself.

A smirk that slid off her face like slime as the other two spoke up.

"but, if you didn't want to walk through the crowd, couldn't you just fly over it?"

"And I appreciate the lift, but can you put me down?"

"You don't sound very appreciative." Morgan said. She tossed her head and frowned. "I didn't fly because I was trying to be helpful. Maybe I should have just let you two be crushed by the fangirls over there." But she still ordered the skeleton to let the two go. Granted it did that by literally letting them go. The fall wasn't far, as its arms hadn't been raised very high, but it would still be a rough landing.

The skeleton then began to fade into dust. Slowly lowering Morgan back to ground level as well. "Come on then. I should make you pay for the food. You ought to be honored I'm eating with commoners like you after all."

She then gave Ross a strange look. "You don't look like a very strong demon." She shrugged. "I suppose with how many I've seen it's to be expected it's hard to meet my expectations. To answer your question, no, I'm completely human. My father is a lich, though." She added almost as an afterthought.

A few moments later a young woman with short blonde hair and a security uniform came up to them. "I take it you're the cause of those reports?" She said, then sighed. "Listen, I don't want to have to do this but you can't just cast dark magic around. I got several reports of people wanting to have you all tossed out."

The other two would be able to see Morgan bristle at this and looked to be working herself up to say something. Meanwhile several onlookers began to take pictures of the scene.

"You don't sound very appreciative. I didn't fly because I was trying to be helpful. Maybe I should have just let you two be crushed by the fangirls over there."

"I've been through worse crowds," Aurora shrugged, getting up from being so promptly dropped by the skeleton. The words "Black Friday" came to mind. Never again. The fall hurt a bit, but it wasn't something she'd still feel by the time they left.

"Come on then. I should make you pay for the food. You ought to be honored I'm eating with commoners like you after all."

After a few other comments from Morgan - most confusing among them being her father being a lich - the group was approached by a woman in a security uniform. This couldn't bode well. Morgan summons a giant skeleton and then the group gets a visit from security? Putting two and two together wasn't all that tough.

"I take it you're the cause of those reports? Listen, I don't want to have to do this but you can't just cast dark magic around. I got several reports of people wanting to have you all tossed out."

Morgan was working herself up, and Aurora could just tell she'd have something to say. It would probably be best if she kept quiet right now and let Aurora and Ross do the talking. Wrapping an arm around Morgan's shoulders, Aurora hurried to think of the best thing to say to defuse the situation while still letting them stay at the mall. "Oh, that! Sorry for the trouble. Morgan here hasn't been in town very long and is still getting used to what's okay or not. We'll make sure it doesn't happen again. Isn't that right, girls?"

Aria

Masaru and Aria entered the doctor's office and set themselves down. Surprisingly enough, the place looked very, very normal by Aria's standards. She began to wonder what would lead to such similarities between Earth and a completely alien dimension, but abandoned the thought immediately. Whatever the reason, it would probably end up being too much of a headache to understand, let alone listen to.

"Well, at least it's not Angela again," the doctor said. Aria snorted. "But it seems that I'm getting a lot of Mauvache's people in here. I have to say it's kind of stressful to be working on such well loved people." The doctor performed his examination which was, again, very routine and surprisingly mundane. Who knew something so average could feel so out-of-place.

"Wha-- No no no we didn't-- it's nothing like that!" Aria stammered, her face becoming very red very quickly. "I feel fine, really!"

"Well, thanks for everything! We should really be on our way, RIGHT MASARU?" Aria said, eyes fixed on the needle.

"Well, it seems you have some celebrities. Why don't you come sit down instead of standing there gawking?"

"Gawking?" Gavin asked, glancing over at Cyan. "Were we gawking? Cause I think we were just glancing if anything."

"According to my analysis, Gavin...I can indeed tell you were gawking. After all, the definition of gawking is 'to stare openly and stupidly'." VEX simply responded, causing the young man to look over at his MOVA. "I am sorry, is that the wrong definition?"

"...VEX I know I didn't program you with any sarcastic receptors...and yet you continue to make snarky comments like that."

VEX only gave out a robotic chuckle. "Alas, this is what happens when my human happens to be someone like yourself, Gavin. Your personality is bound to rub off on me."

Gavin gave off a audible sigh with a roll of his eyes. "Jeez. Anyway, if anything, we may as well go approach the woman...after all, she accused us of gawking." With that, Gavin got off his barstool and made his way towards the woman, before sitting down. "Hey."

Ross raised her eyebrow at the mention of Morgan's father being a lich. Ross wasn't super genre savvy when it came to undead things, as thankfully she didn't have to ever deal with them...much. However, her limited understanding of a lich was something like a living pile of bones. As such, it raised a few questions in Ross's head that she didn't think needed answering, and she quickly attempted to move on with the topic. This was done for her, though, as a security guard made their over to the trio. While Ross could understand that creating a giant skeleton out of nowhere would upset people, there was something that seemed to be odd about it to her. It might've been that the girl was already thinking the world that she had found herself in was bizarre enough, and as such doing something odd was nothing out of the ordinary.

But more than that, Ross had noticed that there was some people already looking at the scene of the three girls talking with the guard. That they seemed to be taking photos and likely gossiping about what was going on was what started to get to the girl. Right. It wasn't odd at all. It was just annoying. Not quite hiding said annoyance on her face, the girl simply said, "right," towards Aurora's comment. Though looking to the side, Ross simply muttered, "not like anyone got hurt anyway." Looking back she said, "if we're free to go now," the girl looked away saying, "well, we should go look for something to eat. Since you paid for  the movie tickets its only fair that I pick up the slack for the food."

"Sur what now?" He said, before shaking his head. "No, don't do any of that creepy techno shit." Cyanthrax said, shaking his head. "Let's just..." It was then that he saw that she had noticed the pair staring at her. Cyanthrax gave the girl a smirk, getting up from his seat. He heard Gavin start talking with his trash can again, causing the demon to simply roll his eyes. "...whatever." He said, making his way towards the woman.

"You know, it's not often I notice someone in a crowd." He said, taking a seat at the table she was at. She had mentioned something about adding a machine to this place, something that Cyan was not pleased to hear. As he got a better look at her, though, the thought of the machine vanished. "This would be the part where I would introduce myself, but I'm sure you know who I am!" He said with a hearty chuckle. "So, who has the pleasure of speaking with me?"

Masaru didn’t like needles.

It was stupid. He had been run through by a sword, shot on several occasions, not to mention the loss of his arm. The pinch of a needle wouldn’t even register in comparison to any of those.  But Masaru couldn’t rationalize his fear of needles away. He hoped against hope that he wasn’t going to need a shot.

"Best I can tell is your body is yet to be used to the environment of this planet. Surprised it took this long to hit though." The doctor said, pressing a few buttons on the wall.

Masaru nodded along, having guessed as much. “I’m normally pretty healthy. Maybe the nonstop battling made it worse?” His brow furrowed. “Is that something I need to worry about Doc?”

"It could take some time to get used to but the fights put more of a mental strain than physical. You shouldn't have much to worry about." Then the doctor looked at Aria. "You should probably get checked out too if you've had any intimate contact with this young man. It's not airborne but any exchanges of bodily fluids could cause the infection to settle in you as well."

Masaru had the decency to blush, though he didn’t go anywhere near as red as Aria. “She’s right, Doc,” he said. “We’re just friends. I don’t really understand how this ‘technology’ tree of magic works, really, and Aria is just an awesome person who agreed to help me figure stuff out.” He smiled at the gamer. “Really appreciate it by the way. Good to know I didn’t accidentally get you sick.”

And then the doctor pulled out a needle. An ominous, monstrously long needle, the vial filled with some kind of mysterious sloshy purple liquid. Masaru recoiled. “Isn’t there any other medicine you could give me? I don’t really, ermh, like needles very much.”

The doctor tried to hide a smirk and covered it up with a cough. "Well this is the fastest way. I'm sure everyone wants you back in shape as soon as possible."

"Well, thanks for everything! We should really be on our way, RIGHT MASARU?" Aria chimed in, eyes fixed on the needle.

Masaru shook his head. “If you can give me a slower medicine I can fight like this. See, watch!” The air in the room vibrated and rippled as the summoner gathered up magic. Before he could finish his summoning spell, however, he sneezed so hard that he fell off the hospital bed he was sitting on. The magic in the air faded and the vibrations ceased. “Okay, alright… Just… Lemme get this over with Aria. Use my right arm, Doc. The other’s no good for a shot.”

Girl's Evening

Morgan glowered at Aurora as the other girl had the audacity to put her arm around her. She shoved her away and snapped back "You don't speak for me." She looked at the security guard. "I don't know who you are but I don't appreciate being told what to do by some uppity girl with an undeserved sense of worth." She started to step towards the guard.

Said guard reached a hand down to their side where a baton was visible. "I'm not trying to start anything." She said slowly. "I just want to be sure there's nothing to worry about."

Morgan seemed to want to respond but Ross's words, specifically the offer to pay, caught her attention. She huffed and rolled her eyes. "Fine, I won't disturb your precious peace." She turned around to face the other two. "Well come on then. What are you waiting for? Let's get going."

Tegur's Bar

The silver haired woman raised an eyebrow as Gavin sat down. "Hey yourself." She said in a breathy voice while looking him up and down.

"This would be the part where I would introduce myself, but I'm sure you know who I am! So, who has the pleasure of speaking with me?"

She let out a light chuckle. "My my am I popular tonight. Yes, I suppose I've seen both of you boys' faces around a couple times. I must admit I'm not all that interested in that sport of yours. But I won't deny it's popularity...for what it's worth."

She put her elbow on the bar and rested her head on her hand. One of her eyes was covered by her silver hair and the other gazed at the two. Giving them an appraising look before slowly licking her lips and then responding. "You want my name? I haven't told many people that. I find names so very...dull, and lifeless. So instead I choose to go by something else. You may call me Silver." Her lips curled into a smirk. "I know, not the most creative, but it gets the point across doesn't it?"

Doctor's Office

A laugh came out of the doctor as he listened to both Aria and Masaru's reactions. "Apologies, I don't mean to be rude. It's just so fascinating to me how something so small can scare so many." He glanced at the needles. "I'm sure you two have seen much more frightening things in the past. But, I suppose, everyone has something."

As the boy mentioned the other arm the doctor's eyes instinctively went to the left arm. He nodded. "Yes, I could see why that might be problematic. Very well. Left or right doesn't make much a difference."

As he was administering the shot the doctor mentioned to Masaru. "You know if you wanted something more...modern, to replace that arm I'm sure it could be arranged. Though I get if you're...attached to it." He said the last bit with a cheeky grin.

Afterwards he went over again the possible side effects and told them to ask if they have anything more they need. As they were readying to leave he added, "By the way if either of you see Angela make sure she's not doing anything dangerous again. While this city is relatively safe there are still dangerous places and that girl seems to find them all." He hesitated a moment before, with the same cheeky grin as before, finished "Have fun with your date."

"You don't speak for me. I don't know who you are but I don't appreciate being told what to do by some uppity girl with an undeserved sense of worth."

Here we go, Aurora mentally sighed.

"I'm not trying to start anything. I just want to be sure there's nothing to worry about."

"Fine, I won't disturb your precious peace. Well come on then. What are you waiting for? Let's get going."

"Yeah, let's go get some food!" Aurora responded, putting her hands on the backs of the other girls and pushing them along the way to the food court, eager to get away from a potential confrontation. She'd already had more run-ins with trouble than she would have liked from her own actions, and wasn't about to take the dive from proximity to somebody else. Sorry about her, she mouthed to the security guard once the others weren't looking on the way out. Somebody would have to give Morgan the talk. Not the birds and bees one -  though based on her comments earlier at the movie theater, she was overdue for that one too - but the one that this wasn't her world anymore.

Tragically, Aurora couldn't imagine it flying over well if she was the one to do it. Maybe asking Mauvache for help would work? She'd have to think about that one. There was still a lot Aurora had to work out. Once they'd found the food court, though, working out her food wasn't that tough. Two pretzels and a cup of coffee. There was something special about soft, cooked pretzels that you just couldn't find in those tiny bagged ones. Once the others had also gotten food, and the trio found a spot to sit and eat, Aurora was the first to opt for conversation.

"What are your worlds like?" she asked.

With the situation having been resolved, Ross had sighed as the group had finally made their way away from the security guard. The whole situation had annoyed her, and thus, once they were done with it she opted not to bring it up at all. Instead, she stayed silent until the group had come across a cafe to get their food from. Looking to the girl she had just told she'd treat, she said, "well, what do you want to get?" After she had gone to get Morgan her own food, Ross had gone to get herself just a simple sandwich with what she could best assume was a lemon lime soda. Sitting down with the others, Ross simply quietly chewed on her meal, still amazed at how normal everything had tasted and seemed despite where they were.

As Aurora asked her question about their own homes, Ross paused for a moment. There were a few words that came to mind. Normal. Modern. Pretty average. Those were the best ways she could think to immediately describe her home world, but she had stopped herself from saying such things. Firstly, as it was disingenuous as Ross had figured that demons were weird, even for the place where she came from. Secondly, Ross had no idea knowing what her companions concept of an "average world" was, as plants in pants were very not the norm where she was from but seemed to be widely accepted here. Looking at them, Ross figured that with Aurora's clothing she was probably from somewhere similar to her, though she could've also been from some weird fantasy land where the clothing didn't match the setting at all. And Morgan was a witch so all bets were off with her. As such, Ross thought about how best to describe it before proceeding.

"My world's pretty average," well it slipped out anyway. "We've got a lot of uh...technology. Stuff run by electricity and lots of metal working....and big cities with big buildings and stuff." Going absolutely perfectly. "Planet's called Earth, if you've heard of it. I'm from a country there called America. It's pretty alright but we frequently get attacked by creatures from hell or something. Honestly I don't know much of the details myself and," Ross seemed to almost glance through Aurora as she said, "I don't think anyone really ever has." Sitting back in her chair, she then waited for the other two to share.

Aria

“She’s right, Doc,” Masaru had said. “We’re just friends. I don’t really understand how this ‘technology’ tree of magic works, really, and Aria is just an awesome person who agreed to help me figure stuff out.” He smiled at her. “Really appreciate it by the way. Good to know I didn’t accidentally get you sick.” While Aria would be lying if she said that the mention of being just friends hadn't stung a little, she knew that he was right. They had only known her for a couple of days, so what more could it be?

Nonetheless, Masaru expressed the same discomfort towards needles that Aria had, and this prompted a laugh from the doctor. "Apologies, I don't mean to be rude. It's just so fascinating to me how something so small can scare so many." He glanced at the needles. "I'm sure you two have seen much more frightening things in the past. But, I suppose, everyone has something."

"Honestly does anyone like them?" Aria muttered to herself. Regardless, he asked for Masaru's arm and gave him the medicine. As he finished up some paperwork, the doctor was soon seeing them on their way.

"By the way if either of you see Angela make sure she's not doing anything dangerous again. While this city is relatively safe there are still dangerous places and that girl seems to find them all."

"Will do!" Aria said.

The doctor hesitated a moment before, with the same cheeky grin as before, finished "Have fun with your date."

Aria's face turned a bright red once again and she grabbed Masaru's metal arm, dragging him towards the door. "Alright well we'll be on our way thanks for everything have a good day!"

Girl's Evening

"well, what do you want to get?"

Morgan let out a sigh. "I'm not used to people not knowing what I like. It'd be good if you worked on that." She then went on to list several rather extravagant things, mostly desserts, that she liked to eat before settling for a much simpler request of a spicy cheeseburger.

The witch wasn't sure how she felt, sitting at a table with these two, in the open, but she wasn't going to turn down the chance at free stuff. "I can only hope any journalist that sees this reports it as me being generous to my less popular coworkers." She muttered into her burger.

She wasn't going to answer at first when Aurora asked about where she had lived. But then Ross's answer got her attention. "Earth? That's where I'm from, too. Though I don't think I'd say creatures from hell are common. Mostly it's crazy people with too much money or power for their own good. Of course, I'm basically a queen there. No one dares to stand up to me. Were we there I could've turned that security guard into a toad and no one would've thought twice about it." she proclaimed this proudly.

She narrowed her eyes and pointed with her burger at Ross. "Are you sure you're from Earth? I can't imagine anyone not knowing about me there."

"I'm from Earth too, but I've certainly never heard of any hell monsters before, and I certainly haven't heard of any witches." Not to mention Morgan's magic simply wasn't something somebody from Aurora's Earth would have access to. Unless somebody had some sort of Fragment that let them absorb other Fragments? But that would be stupid. Propping her elbow up on the table, Aurora raised her hand, palm facing up, and continued "The history behind it is a bit complicated, but basically, everyone is born with a Fragment in my world." A ball of ice, rough but overall still pretty round, began to form in her hand as she further explained "There are limits to what they're capable of, but not all of them are created equal. Most of the time it's just part of life, but some people like to use their gifts purely for their own gain. In my world, there are also heroes dedicated to stopping them. It's like something right out of an old comic book, right?"

Still, the fact that all three of these girls were from Earth, yet all three of them were so different, was a real head-scratcher. Aurora thought back to something she'd been told when she first arrived here.

"Time and space is not so...linear as one might think."

Not linear, different worlds... parallel universes? That still seemed a bit off the mark. "It's weird that we're all from the same planet, but it's so different for each of us," she couldn't help but comment. Was there an Aurora Burns in those other worlds, perhaps? What was her life like?

Ross looked between the two, unsure of what she should have found more surprising. As it turned out, the both of them had also been from Earth, although neither of them seemed to be aware of the whole monsters from maybe hell thing that was going on. In fact, the two of them seemed to describe something entirely foreign to her. Morgan with her being an actual witch who was actually famous. And Aurora with her "Fragment" that sounded like similar in function to a demonic taint, but with much less risk of dying from thirst. Speaking of, Ross still had to go see about her own blood drinking problem, but that was for later. All the same, neither of them seemed like they were lying and thus it brought back Ross to her original thought. That it was strange that they were both from the same planet as her, but they were somehow not. Of course, the alternative was that they were humans and not from Earth, which was an equally strange thing to think about. As Ross thought to herself, she eventually just shrugged it off.

"Yeah, I can't say I've heard of you before now. And well, you seem like a hard person to miss, especially in my line of work." She then looked to Aurora saying, "same with your whole, Fragment business. But well," looking between the two she said, "we're a demon, a mutant and a witch. If that's not the start to some kind of joke I don't know what is." Taking a sip of her soda yet again, the girl looked to the others saying, "well, regardless of how weird different  they might be, glad to meet fellow earthlings in this weird place." Taking a glance at her watch, the girl then said, "oh, it's a lot later than I thought it'd be."

The Korova region, being much less tourist friendly than other regions, isn't one that many people travel to in this day and age. It wasn't prepared to take in visitors with much pomp and circumstances. It did however have one thing going for it when it came to visitors from other regions and that was New Point Landing.
Located at the western edge of an island, which was itself to the west of the mainland, New Point Landing was the main place for visitors coming into the region and it, at least, had a dock that ships could stop at to drop of passengers which was more than can be said about most of the rest of the region.
Once upon a time the city was the place to go for trading and shopping. These days it has fallen far from its high point and many of the stores are closed and boarded up. Awaiting a day that the region was more prosperous. Many of the remaining stores were family-run and managed by stubborn folk who refused to let the city fall completely off of its original purpose. There existed a singular, larger, department store where the rare visitors were able to get most necessities for their travels.
The ship that was currently coming into the dock was different than most that the city would usually see. It resembled a cruise ship more than anything else and instead of supplies from other regions it instead was full of trainers.
Unbeknownst to the people of the city, nor truly the trainers themselves, these passengers included those who would be much more precious to the region than any other cargo. For these trainers were destined to take part in a struggle that would determine the fate of the entire region.
Pokemon trainers from across the world all coming here with the purpose of taking on the Pokemon League challenge and becoming the Champion that the region has been lacking for many long years.

Anneliese looked out at the city that approached. Her eyes were shining with excitement as she watched the city, much different than Sunnyshore City back home, came closer and closer. "My goodness Leopold, how do you think the ship knows when to stop without any eyes?" She asked the small, lion-cub-like, Shinx that was currently standing next to her and watching with great concern as she leaned over the edge of the railing with no regard to her own safety.
The Pokemon had no answer for her. He didn't have any more knowledge than she did about ships and he wouldn't be able to bring himself to correct her if he did.
This didn't stop the girl from continuing her dialogue with the small creature. "Oh look over there, that's Goldeen right? My goodness there's so many of them. Leopold do you see them right there?" She leaned over the edge to point out the Pokemon swimming along the side of the boat. In doing so she went too far and very nearly tumbled off the edge.
Only stopped by Leopold biting the bottom of her dress and pulling the girl backwards. She stumbled but managed to avoid falling as she looked down at Leopold. "Oh, what's wrong?" She asked, oblivious to how she had almost fell into the water. "Did you want something to eat?"
Leopold shook his head and wondered where the other humans that he had gathered to keep an eye on her were. He could do most of it himself but when Anneliese was this excited sometimes it could get...difficult. When the captain had informed them they would be required to set off in groups of three, for safety reasons, Leopold at first blanched at the idea of trusting strangers to accompany his trainer but he realized that it was something he'd have to accept. As long as they kept Anneliese safe and happy, of course.
      ---
As the ship docked everyone would be helped off of it by the crew. They were greeted by a tall middle-aged, man with mutton chops of such grandeur that they were nearly indistinguishable from a full beard. "Hello, and welcome...to Korova! I got word of your arrival and sallied forth to greet you! I am the dockmaster here, and I wish to be the first to welcome you all to my fair city, the jewel of this region, in my eyes at least, New Point Landing. I'm sure you'll find it accommodating to your needs...You may not even want to leave, gwahahahaha!"
"Oh what a delightful man!" Anneliese said as she smiled brightly at him. She wanted to stop and chat with the pleasant man some more but another part of her wished to hurry off to begin her adventure.
It was then she remembered that she had teammates with her and so she turned to the two of them with an even bigger smile, "So, where shall we start?"
