Aria

"That's the spirit, my dear. You might want to start with the young witch though. She could use it." Aria joined Mauvache in giving Morgan a look of distaste.

"Whatever, hag." Morgan muttered. Then, to Aria, "You can try but the only thing you'll ever beat me in is an ugly contest." She tossed her hair and turned towards Tegur. "I'd like a drink, pumpkin spice latte, and some apple pie. On our gracious host."

"I'd love to see you try, shrimp!" Cyan said, even though he really shouldn't have.

"The hell you just say?" Aria snapped, slamming her hand down on the counter, causing some amount of broth to splash out of her bowl. "Say that to my face, asshole! Say it right now! See what happens!" The look she gave him betrayed her murderous intent, and Cyanthrax would need to choose his words carefully before he found out why Aria's fist was clenched so tightly.

Masaru’s acclimation to his new dwelling was overwhelming, even for him. So much so that he had come down with some kind of cold. “How do I… I know your sleepy, Slime Jr., but will you please try to wake up soon?” His voice was incredibly stuffy. He sniffled in a futile attempt to breathe and frowned at his watch. “I’ve been waitin’ on you for three hours. You’re too young to be sleeping this much,  Slime Jr. How are you gonna grow up to be a King Slime if all you do is sleep all day instead of looking for vitamin rich minerals like the rest of the baby slimes?”

When the slime continued to sleep, little “Z” speech bubbles drifting up from his slumbering form, Masaru tapped the screen of the watch. An exclamation mark replaced the “Z” speech bubble and the baby slime woke up with a start, huffed at Masaru, and then hopped off the side of the screen. The black background changed  all the different spells his watch could cast, but the summoner sighed. “Why is that the only way to get you up? You always get mad at me when I have to do that.”

Regardless, he could send a message to Mauvache now. Angela had showed him how to do that during his tour around the place. He pulled himself into a sitting position, the scratchy blanket that had come with his cot pooling in his lap. It wasn’t very comfortable, but when his upper half was bared to the cold wind of his unheated bedroom, he immediately missed the warmth it provided. “Okay so… Go into contacts, press the button the ‘microphone’ button by the person’s name and then…” Masaru cleared his throat once the flash that indicated it was listening displayed, then read his message, which was converted to text and delivered by Slime Jr.

With his message sent and now awaiting a response, he begrudgingly climbed out of bed and started the  arduous process of putting his arm on and getting dressed. “Nobody ever changed the world in bed,” he reminded himself as his arm began to connect to the port on his shoulder.

He still had a whole day ahead of him. Brock was expecting him at the museum, and Tegur was supposed to get back from his vacation today!

Tegur's Bar

"I guess we could spar somewhere? I don't fuckin' know..."

"You don't remember things well do you? We don't fight unless it's for the audience, god. I thought you might know of some fun places to go but I guess I have to do everything." She tossed her hair and pouted at the boy.

"Say that to my face, asshole! Say it right now! See what happens!"

"Oh. My. God." Morgan said, throwing her hands up and backing away. "I'm working with a bunch of neanderthals. Fine, you two kill each other, I'll find out what some fun places around here are." She then set to her watch and began her search.

Meanwhile Tegur was watching what was going on with less and less cheer on his face. Aria would find his large hand slammed down next to her as the Minotaur leaned over her. "You don't want to let your soup get cold." He said. His tone was calm. There was no indication that it meant anything else. Except for a feeling. A feeling of reproach. "I think it might be much better if you to go back to your bowl and eat. Eating is good. Warms the soul. Keeps you going. Not at all like fighting."

Library

Keres seemed a bit uncomfortable with the conversation but didn't say anything until the two of them went into the elevator and took it up a few more floors. "This way." She said at last, leading Xia out into room with a glass table in the middle, surrounded by stools, and a shelf at each four walls. "Aquatic. Terrestrial. Aerial. Dimensional." She glanced at Xia. "Each wall contains information on animals from each of these categories. Um. Do you...need anything more from me?"

After some time Xia's watch would chime as a message came in.

Hey. Cyanthrax and Aria are killing each other right now and I'm bored. Do you know anywhere cool I could go?

Mauvache's Office

The woman sat down on her armchair with a groan. "Those stools aren't made for these old bones." She muttered as she tapped on the top of her desk. A piece of it slid open and a rectangular object, made of similar material to the walls of the Virtual Battlefield rooms, popped up. This way when the AI came here he would appear on this device as a hologram in front of the woman.

She looked around the room, made a couple changes, then nodded to herself. "Let's get this over with." She said and sent a message to the AI that she was ready to talk with him.

Angela

"Now...where am I supposed to go, anyway?"

After Angela got Aurora's reply, she was at first going to attend her cooking class once more, but it was then that she noticed a new message from her instructor, saying that she would not be able to come early today. Thus, the class ended up getting postponed into this afternoon. Thus, she had to figure out what to do to spend her time before that. With how sudden it was, she probably couldn't just call someone and ask to hang out with them, either. Angela's hands went to her contacts, but she didn't end up figuring out what to do. It's not like she was in the mood of sports, and to her chagrin, she was absolutely awful at making connections in this world so far. Ultimately, after more than one minute of thinking and looking at her contacts, only one name really came into her mind. They didn't even spend time much, and Angela had little idea about what sort of person she was, but what was important was that the girl saved her and that her pie tasted amazing.

Making her decision, Angela sent her a quick message.

From: Angela

Um...hello. I wonder, are you free today? Back then I left a little bit abruptly, so...maybe can we hang out together? Also might be good for us to know each other better. Once again, thank you a lot for saving me from the mine.

As the duo made their way to the top of the library, Xia looked in awe at the shelves as Keres explained to her all the different things that she could find here. As the girl asked if she needed anything more from her, Xia thought about it for a moment. Shaking her head she said, "no. But...do you want to read something together?"

"Read...together?"

"Yeah!" Xia nodded, a clear smile on her face as she continued. "I'm new to this whole reading thing so I don't really get it, but, it's probably super fun if you like it so much. And everything's even more fun when you do it with friend's right?"

"I don't know about that..." Keres said. "How would we...do that?"

"Hmmm..." Xia made her way over to the bookshelves, grabbing one from them. Opening the book, trying to think of what to do saying, "it looks like it'd be hard to read from the same one...but..." Putting it back she then seemed to realize something. "Oh, what if we just read from two copies of the same book!"

"If...you wish."

Overjoyed by this, Xia grabbed two copies of a book on sharks and began reading them together with her new found friend. The girl seemed to take each new page with wonder and confusion on her face, marveling at every new little factoid she came across of the aquatic animals she had been familiar. In the midst of reading, the girl's watch seemed to make a noise, causing her to look at it. Seeing that there was a message, labeled from Morgan, Xia was glad to see that Morgan, Aria and Cyan were all hanging out together. While she wanted to answer the girl, Xia had absolutely no idea how to do so. Thankfully, she knew someone who was super smart that was right near her. "Hey, Keres. Do you know how to send words and stuff with this thing?"

As she asked this, Keres seemed to have some kind of look of realization on her face, but didn't say anything more on it as she told the girl how to use the messaging function of her watch. "Thanks Keres!" Looking at her watch, the  girl began  to type back to Morgan.

Hello there all kinds of fun places to go and do fun stuff like the sports stadium and the casino and i am at a library where theres lots and lots of books and stairs to climb and did you know that sharks never sleep but yeah those are a few of the fun places i can think of

"The hell you just say?" Aria snapped, slamming her hand down on the counter, causing some amount of broth to splash out of her bowl. "Say that to my face, asshole! Say it right now! See what happens!" Cyan gave the girl an amused glance, before his eyes shifted to the girls hand. His expression went from a smug grin to a scowl quickly, as he clenched his own fists. As he was standing up, however, Tegur interfered. Cyan released his fist, smoke coming out of it, as he made his way towards the girl.

"I said I'd like.." He said, basically slamming his head against hers. "...to see you try, shrimp!" His voice became sharper, smoke coming out of his mouth as he spoke. His eyes glanced over to Tegur and, as they did, he backed off from the girl. "Try to have a tantrum somewhere else, kid. I actually like this fuckin' place." He said, giving the girl a cold glare. He was not about to have the one place he enjoyed be wrecked. Almost as soon as he said that, Cyanthrax had disappeared into smoke, appearing next to Morgana instead. He was peering over the witch's shoulders. "So, find anything fun to do?" His tone became more playful, tilting his head as he glanced at the watch.

Aria

"You don't want to let your soup get cold." Tegur interjected, and while his calm voice helped visibly put Aria at some ease, her unwavering glare remained fixed on Cyan. "I think it might be much better if you to go back to your bowl and eat. Eating is good. Warms the soul. Keeps you going. Not at all like fighting."

"I said I'd like.." Cyan fired back, slamming his head against hers. "...to see you try, shrimp!" His voice became sharper, smoke coming out of his mouth as he spoke. His eyes glanced over to Tegur and, as they did, he backed off from the girl. "Try to have a tantrum somewhere else, kid. I actually like this fuckin' place."

Aria almost leaped from her stool to plant a fist right into Cyan's face, but all that was stopping her was another look from Tegur. She growled, then shouted back at Cyan as he left. "That's right! Run away, you coward! Just you wait until our next match, I'm gonna blast you into next WEEK!" At this point, however, he was long gone and couldn't hear her. Grumbling, she turned around back to the rest of her ramen and continued to eat, albeit at a faster pace. Just as she was soon about to finish, her watch notified her of an incoming message.

She read through the message, her mood still stewing until she saw that it was from Masaru. Almost choking on her ramen, she opened the message with haste, but her excitement immediately died down when she read that the message wasn't meant for her. "Who the hell is 'Little Slime'?" She muttered to herself, before typing out her own response.

Hey Masaru, this is Aria. Looks like u sent ur message to the wrong person. Im at Tegur's atm and u just missed mauvache. i dunno wat u mean by 'lil slime' so i dunno if i can help, but mb some1 can help u get in tuch with mauvache? i dunno, gud luck! ?

"That last emote was probably a bit much. Oh well," Aria said, returning to her ramen.

Angela

Oh hey! Didn't think I'd hear from ya again. Miss me already? lol. I'm at work right now. Just tossed out one of your buddies actually. The witchy one. At the small sports stadium. Heading on break actually. I'll be outside it if you're wanting to talk or whatev.

-Aurea

When Angela went to the location indicated, easily found on the map if she wasn't sure, it seemed there was a large crowd going into the place. It would be difficult to see Aurea's small body in the crowd but, making her way to the front, she'd find that the girl was sitting on a bench off to the side. With a cane set on top of it and a boxed lunch open in front of her. The girl smiled from ear to ear when Angela came up. "Yo." She said, chipper.

Xia

Keres seemed to be growing uncomfortable as she sat there. Her eyes barely skimming the book as she flipped from page to page in rapid succession. Eventually she set the book aside and glanced over at Xia. "You're part of the Arena right? Like that witch girl. Is that why you're here, too?"

Cyanthrax

Morgan stared down at the message she received. What kind of girl was Xia anyway? Rolling her eyes she messaged back.

Thanks but no thanks. I was at the library already. Hey, if you meet a mage girl named Keres let her know that she was wrong. That sports stadium didn't have who I was looking for at all. Now I have to figure out where to drag Cyanthrax to make this day go by.

"So, find anything fun to do?"

Morgan looked up to Cyanthrax. Her eyes flicked over to Aria who was giving one last threat and Morgan couldn't help but wonder how the girl had such confidence after being beaten so badly.

"Well, apparently." She tapped the watch where the message had been. "Staircases are all the rage." the sarcastic tone was almost physical. "Xia seems to think sports and casinos are the way to go. Has she seen me? I'm so not a sporty girl." She looked up at Cyan. "Unless you wanted to make it interesting somehow."

After sending the message out, Xia continued to sit in place, reading her book on shark life. Still fascinated by each new fact presented to her, but slow going in her reading, she eventually looked up as Keres asked her a question. With a smile on her face, the girl nodded, saying, "yeah. I was signed up to fight stuff and so here I am!" Xia then wondered for a moment before asking, "oh, but, what's a witch?"

Keres looked uncomfortable. "Magic users of...certain reputation. Dark reputation."

"Ooooh. Magic users. Magic Users..." Xia began to mull over this, trying to bring to mind all the female magic users she knew of. After thinking for a moment, she looked and asked, "oh, does that mean you've also made friends with Angela or Aria or Aurora or Morgan?"

Keres looked confused. "I don't know those names."

Xia began to think it over for a moment before listing off, "well, two of them have white hair, but one's way colder then the other. And one of them has blue hair and a tasty looking hat and the other has orange hair and really cool pointy hat."

"Orange hair, pointy hat, that was the girl who came here."

Looking excited Xia said, "that was Morgan." With a new message appearing on her watch, the girl looked over to it and then back to Keres. "Oh. That's her." Gesturing to her watch, the girl then read the message, saying, "apparently there wasn't someone at the sport's stadium and she wanted you to know that. " Bright eyed and curious the girl looked to Keres saying, "what'd you guys talk about?"

Keres's lips tugged upwards a moment. "So she found nothing." She glanced aside at Xia. "She wanted to know about the fighters that came before you all. I told her where she could look."

Taken aback for a moment, Xia asked, "whoa. There were other fighters?"

"Of course. She's been doing this for a while. There were eight others. Before."

"Whoooa. Eight others." Xia thought about it for a moment, smiling to herself as she said, "well, all the fighter's I've talked to now are such cool people, so I bet those guys were also really cool." Keres simply shrugged at this. Xia, clearly, seemed more excited about this then her literary companion wondering what the old eight must have been like. Excited to meet them one day, the girl happily went back to reading her book, spending some more time on it before finally letting out a big sigh. "Man, reading is hard work. But it was really fun." Standing up, closing her book she says, "thanks a lot for helping me out with this Keres."

"You're welcome. I'm...glad you found what you wanted. Without yelling."

Smiling, the girl waved back to Keres saying, "I'll see you again sometime and then we can read some more together!" With that done, Xia left the building, looking to start her adventure of exploring the city once again.

"It doesn't sound like we know anything about this Silver guy, but we do know who Colarata bought the casino from, right? Some more research on that guy would maybe be a good start. As much as I'd like to ask Colarata about the mob boss and Silver face-to-face, that might not fly over so well. At least at the start, we should try to keep it subtle."

Gavin nodded at Aurora's thoughts. She wasn't wrong, and from the sounds of it VEX was running more searches for any information regarding either individual, so it hopefully it wouldn't take too long for that to possibly work itself out.

"Yeah, sounds like you got this thought out then, Snow Angel." he shrugged with a stern nod. "Keeping it subtle would most likely be the best option for this operation. Plus, VEX is still working on finding anything else on those two individuals in any shape or form. So if anything, we can also give it enough time and he'll find something out. Heh, he's pretty reliable with things like that."

He tried his hardest not to pat himself on the back for that, but he couldn't help it...he did create the A.I. Granted, it was on accident, but still, it counted.

iU8EggM.png

Meanwhile, the moment Mauvache sent the message to VEX, the A.I. immediately made his presence known, giving a courteous bow to the gracious host.

"Thank you for allowing me the chance for us to speak, Mauvache." VEX spoke, now standing upright with his hands behind his back. "I must say, this world you have whisked myself and Gavin to is quite intriguing indeed. A bit of everything from different parts of the...I believe the word you used was the 'multiverse', correct? Regardless, I have come to ask for some assistance on a few things. Firstly, there is a challenge I believe that is suited for Gavin, but alas, his points are not the correct amount. Is there a way to fix that, or to possibly let him prove himself before tossing him at this challenge?"

He wanted to go for one situation at a time, but right now, this is what he wanted to start off with.

Masaru’s watch lit up and let out a low-quality jingle. “What’s up Little Slime?” he asked, holding the watch about two inches from his face to squint at the screen. An envelope was dancing in front of him. “Oh, is it mail? Can you open it for me pal? I forgot my letter opener in my other arm.” He grinned at his own joke, but Little Slime didn’t show any visible reaction.

It did however hop up to the letter and bop into it with the Standard Slime’s signature corkscrew attack. It was apparently enough to open it up, the message inside spilling out onto the screen. “Whoa! You’re able to do a corkscrew already? That’s awesome bu--ACHOO!” Masaru sneezed so hard he hit his head against his watch.

“Right. Focus. Need to find a doctor,” he muttered to himself, reading Mauvache’s response. His face grew increasingly more confused the further he read into the latter. “Well… I’m dumb. We accidentally sent that message to Aria, Little Slime. ...What’s that little face she put at the end though?” Masaru emulated it with his own face, sticking his tongue out. “Oh! I get it, she’s laughing at us. Hehe. I didn’t even realize that we could put faces into these little letters. ...Do you think she knows a doctor Little Slime? She seemed like all her slimes were in a row when she was giving us a tour.”

He chewed on his lip for a moment, mulling over what to do, then decided. “Little Slime. I know I’m giving you a lot of work, but can you take a message to Aria for me? Something like… Hey Aria, with a face that’s smiling right after it. No… two faces that are smiling! Mom always said smiles make everyone feel better.” He spent several more minutes working on his message, which eventually came out to:

Quote

Hey Aria!
??
Sorry about that. Must be a little out of it because I’m sick.
?????
Little Slime is the baby Standard Slime that lives inside my ‘watch’ thing. He helps me out by sending out the messages and stuff. ?
??????
Do you think you could help me find a doctor though? ?‍⚕️?‍⚕️?
Don’t worry if you’re busy though! I’m sure I’ll find one on my own eventually. How hard can it be, right? ?
Thanks,
Masaru!
(PS. don't worry, the ghost was just adorable. I’m not dead yet!)
(PPS. These little picture things are so cool! Thanks for showing me them.)

Masaru nodded, happy with his message, then pulled on his jacket and headed out of his bedroom. The hallway was freezing, but he had things to do.

Day 8, 8:00, Arena
Points: 61

W/L Record: 3/3

"Yeah, sounds like you got this thought out then, Snow Angel."

"I was training to be a superhero," Aurora proudly answered. From the sound of things, if they wanted to play subtle, they could just tell VEX who to research and let him do the rest. But... that seemed a bit too hands-off, didn't it? She definitely still wanted to keep things lowkey with this investigation, but sitting around doing nothing sounded excessive. "Letting VEX do some of the research is a good plan, but we shouldn't rely entirely on him. We should at least go there ourselves later and ask around, even if it isn't about the stuff we're actually investiating."

Mauvache smiled wryly as the virtual man spoke. It was a rather amusing thing, having an artificial organism give her work a compliment. The amusement soured somewhat as they made their request. As he did the smile grew icy and Mauvache let out a low chuckle.

"My, my, what an odd request." She leaned back in her chair and gazed at the AI for a few moments. "The events have a cost because they are meant to be an incentive. Fight well and gain access to new and exciting challenges and a chance to earn more rewards than the points you put into it. If I let someone do one early it would throw off the whole system. It would be like giving away free points if they win and that is not something I will do." She leaned forward once more, placing a hand on the desk, and spoke in her low tone. "Do not waste my time asking for favors without anything to give in return."

Having left the library Xia, now by herself, had looked for other places to go have fun at. Morgan didn't seem very keen on reading and she didn't know where either she or Cyan were going for the time being. Trying to think of some fun thing to do herself, the girl eventually remembered what Keres had said, and that Morgan had gone to the sports stadium earlier. With that thought in her mind, Xia remembered that that place was all kinds of fun the last two times she had gone, and she had met some fun people as well. So, with that in mind, Xia began to make her way towards that stadium.

Walking towards the building, Xia was excited to see what other kinds of fun and games she could accomplish here, when her eyes drifted towards a familiar set of blue hair. Eyes lighting up, the girl shouted out amidst the crowd. "Heeeyyyyy Angela!" Jogging her way over to the girl, she said, "hi Angela. Are you here to have some great fun too?" Looking over, she saw that Angela had been meeting with someone else, the dragon girl looking between the two saying, "oh, is she a friend of yours Angela?"

Aria

It wasn't long until Aria received a reply from Masaru. Opening the message and reading only a few lines and seeing the emojis, her head sunk into her hands. "Oh no, what have I done," she muttered before diving into the rest of the text. "Does he mean a tomodachi? Is that what's living in his watch?" Either way, she figured she could help. She started by tapping out a quick message to Mauvachi briefly explaining the situation and asking if there's a doctor they could visit. Then, she got to replying to Masaru.

I sent a msg to Mauvachi asking if theres a doctor. I can go with u if u want, is there somwhere u wanna meet up? Mb hang out for the day?

At the last second Aria panicked over that last line, worrying that maybe it was too forward, but in her hasty panic she accidentally hit the "SEND" button and loudly proclaimed "Shit!" in the tavern, once again burying her face in her hands.

"I was training to be a superhero."

"A superhero? Huh...that ain't bad." Gavin chuckled, giving a quick smile. "Definitely shows with what you displayed during out bout. Still, guess your world was pretty interesting if that's the case."

"Letting VEX do some of the research is a good plan, but we shouldn't rely entirely on him. We should at least go there ourselves later and ask around, even if it isn't about the stuff we're actually investigating."

He nodded at that idea, having a solemn look on his face, mulling the idea over in his mind a bit as he tilted his head back and forth. "Okay yeah, I'm down with that. Besides, you are right. Can't just rely on my buddy. Let's just hope this actually turns out better than our trip to that bar and trying to get an idea about the problem."

"Perish the thought, my esteemed host." VEX said, not deterred by Mauvache's low tone at the last sentence. "That was only just a simple inquiry. After all, I was simply attempting to surprise my partner. But if this is out of the question, then allow us to move along from this topic."

At this point, he swiped his hand slightly and had a virtual chessboard appear between him and Mauvache. "Perhaps a game of chess for the moment as I speak on a different matter?" VEX continued, as he put his hands behind him. "I request knowledge, but alas, I wish not to impose in picking your brain, Mauvache. After all, that would be uncouth of me. Rather, I request some assistance in a case that Gavin and myself have taken up in order to assist a fellow Fighter: Ms. Burns."

He had the white pawn slightly move, starting the chess game as he continued. "You see, for all my searching, I cannot find specifics regarding Mr. Colarata, the esteemed owner of the casino here in Rama-Indri, nor his apparent business partner he bought it from. An individual by the codename of 'Silver'. Could there be a specific direction you may be able to point me? Of course, I would be happy to assist in providing anything for you, if it's within my ability."

Angela C. Silkans

Witchy one? Oh, it must be Morgan.

Hard to say that she was buddy-buddy with Morgan, to tell the truth. Morgan being the newest arrival, not to mention her general attitude, made Angela not know much of her yet aside from the little she knew. But Aurea did mention where she would be right now, so with haste, Angela ran towards the sports building. Once she was there, there was a large crowd near the stadium, making it hard to look on where Aurea was, but Angela soon noticed that she was sitting on a nearby bench, with an open boxed lunch near her.

"Um... hi!" Angela tried her best to sound chipper. "Well... this might be a bit silly but... my schedule today is empty and I'm not really sure what to do, myself."

Her smile became wry for a moment. "I guess I'm feeling kind of lonely, but since you're still at work, probably it's best for me not to disrupt you too much."

Morgan looked up to Cyanthrax. Her eyes flicked over to Aria, who was still shouting at him. Cyanthrax simply rolled his eyes, ignoring the girl's shouts. "Well, apparently." She tapped the watch where the message had been. "Staircases are all the rage." She spoke with sarcasm so thick he was surprised she didn't suffocate then and there. "Xia seems to think sports and casinos are the way to go. Has she seen me? I'm so not a sporty girl." She looked up at Cyan. "Unless you wanted to make it interesting somehow."

"Casino and sports..." He said, scratching his chin. "Well I used to do a bit of gamblin' myself, never really into it though. Was mainly an excuse to drink with..." He shook his head. "Sports, on the other hand, are a bit more interesting. A lot less violent than I'd like, but it's something" He turned back to Morgana, taking a good look at her. "...'not a sporty girl' is a fuckin' understatement." He shook his head. "How ya do anything without collapsing is beyond me." He sighed, glancing back towards Aria.

"Fuck it, we'll do some boxing or something." He turned to Morgana. "The spat with the shrimp has got me fired up, and that's the closest thing we've got to fightin' today I reckon. I'll even let ya do yer magic bullshit."

Mauvache rubbed her temple and closed her eyes for a few moments. "Colarata is a small fry. His business would have gone under long ago without donations from that Silver." She looked over at the AI, casually making her move. "I have no real need to know about them, they're of little consequence to me. And I'm not sure I like the idea of my fighters doing some kind of vigilante investigation." She frowned. "In fact I believe I had to tell some of them before to stay out of trouble. Perhaps I have to be more...strict."

Angela and Xia

"I guess I'm feeling kind of lonely, but since you're still at work, probably it's best for me not to disrupt you too much."

Aurea shrugged her small shoulders. "Not a big deal. They don't get on me much here anyway." Her eyes glanced to the side as she heard someone approaching.

"oh, is she a friend of yours Angela?"

"She's Aurea, and she saved me a few days back when I got myself into a pretty dangerous situation by accident. I kinda came here to hang out with her... so maybe we are friends? Perhaps."

Aurea shrugged again. "Can't have too many friends right? Seems this place is popular with fighters today isn't it? Maybe we should've tidied up a bit." She laughed. "Well now that you're both here guess you'll want to play some games? Unless there's something else you're here for."

Morgan and Cyanthrax

"Fuck it, we'll do some boxing or something. The spat with the shrimp has got me fired up, and that's the closest thing we've got to fightin' today I reckon. I'll even let ya do yer magic bullshit."

Morgan rolled her eyes. "You're really bad at reading women aren't you." She said. Then she threw her hands up in the air and sighed. "I guess we'll go there then. But I'm not boxing. Not in a thousand years. I'll enjoy watching you getting punched though." She finished with a cheeky laugh as she hopped onto her broom. "Well, let's get going."

The girl led the way back to the small sports stadium. The crowd had thinned out somewhat so it was easier to get inside. She noticed off to the side Xia and Angela talking with the girl that had told her to leave before and, keeping her head high, she ignored them entirely and floated on inside.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" Morgan said to Cyanthrax. "Go get your little boxing match. I don't want to have to deal with those troglodytes again." She crossed her eyes and glowered at the reception desk, making a shooing motion to Cyanthrax.

Day 8, 8:00, Arena
Points: 61

W/L Record: 3/3

"A superhero? Huh...that ain't bad. Definitely shows with what you displayed during out bout. Still, guess your world was pretty interesting if that's the case."

"It seemed like a pretty normal place to me," Aurora shrugged. If anything, Gavin's seemed like the interesting world. Sentient AI, cool laser gadgets, probably spaceships, it all sounded like something straight out of a sci-fi movie! It got her thinking about the kinds of worlds other fighters came from too. Maybe she'd be able to visit one someday? Mmm... that actually seems like a bit too much. For now, just one foreign world was good enough for Aurora. While Gavin seemed down with Aurora's investigation plan, there was still the issue of what to do before taking off to the casino.

She'd gotten so used to fighting in the arena before she even knew it, that having a day where she wouldn't duke it out with another fighter felt weird. Was she able to get in there for a sparring match maybe? Possibly?? It was worth a shot, right?

"I could show you some stuff I learned in hero school if you want in the meantime, if you show me what those gadgets do. They're really cool, and I might be able to bring the ideas back to my world for support items!"

As Angela introduced the girl to Xia, she looked over to the small dark skinned girl, saying, "oh it's nice to meet you Aurea. I'm Xia!" As her new friend Aurea mentioned about wanting to play games, Xia nodded her head. "Yeah, I came here to play some sport stuff! Like tennis. Oh," she looked to her two friends asking, "have you guys ever played tennis before?"

"Tennis? No, but it's funny you should say that. There's a big match happening soon. That's why there's so many people around."

Looking around to take note of the large crowd, Xia's eye shone brightly as she said, "really?" Looking to Angela she asked, "want to go see it? If you've never played tennis before I'm sure it'll be awesome! Oh, maybe I can learn from it too." Xia remembered that she still hadn't gotten better since her last bout against Valerie, and if she were to face her again she had to at least figure something out first.

"I guess we'll go there then. But I'm not boxing. Not in a thousand years. I'll enjoy watching you getting punched though." She finished with a cheeky laugh as she hopped onto her broom. "Well, let's get going." Cyan simply rolled his eyes.

"You're no fun." He simply said, following the girl out the door.

The two of them made their way towards the stadium. Cyan thought he saw someone familiar in the crowd, but didn't think much of it. Especially since he didn't have any time to take a good look.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" Cyanthrax let out a growl. "Go get your little boxing match. I don't want to have to deal with those troglodytes again."

"Alright, alright, I'm going! Fuckin' hell..." He said, rolling his eyes as he made his way to the reception desk. "Set me up with a boxing match." He commanded the person behind the desk, crossing his arms. "And make sure it's your strongest guy. There's no fun in it if I just steamroll over some insects."

Masaru was just exiting the apartment complex when his watch jingled. “Another message Little Slime?” he asked. “Will ya open it pal?” The tiny slime bounded into the letter on the screen and another letter came spilling out. Masaru smiled as he read it. “Looks like Aria’s gonna help us out after all! She asked Mauvache where a doctor was and offered to take us. Feel up to sending a letter back? I promise this’ll be the last one buddy!” He tried to make himself look as pitiable as possible, but the patented puppy dog eyes were  interrupted by another enormous sneeze. Pain wracked through his chest and head.

Little Slime humored him and brought up the messenger application. Masaru held his head with one hand and delivered his message.

That would be awesome. Promise to buy you lunch for being so nice. ??
Maybe we could meet at Tegur’s bar? He’s supposed to be back today and I really wanna catch up.
...Though, I’m not really sure how to get there eith--hey! Don’t put that part down Little Slime. I can figure it out on my ow--ACHOO!

Masaru rubbed his nose with the back of his wrist. “Okay. No more messages. Time to go Little Slime, I’m gonna introduce you to your older cousin.” A pale blue glow surrounded Masaru’s left arm, then pooled in his palm of his hand. “Ready? Watch this.” He tossed the magic orb onto the sidewalk. It expanded into a small blue vortex, and after a few seconds, a large slime with a saddle on its back hopped out of it. “This big guy here is called a Saddle Slime, buddy. They grow so big because they live in the mountains, so they have a lot of minerals to eat.”

The Saddle Slime jiggled in excitement when it saw Masaru, bouncing over and tackling him to the ground.

“Whoa! Hey now,” Masaru laughed, pushing it off. “Good to see you again too. How’s the family?” he asked. The Saddle Slime wiggled and hopped up and down a couple times. “Two little slimes? Already? You’ve been busy! That’s awesome to hear.” Masaru pulled himself into a sitting position. “The reason I called for ya though is I need some help. Think you can give me a ride?”

The Saddle Slime was more than happy to oblige. It was so happy, in fact, that it tackled the summoner out of eagerness. “C’mon buddy! I really don’t feel great, cut me some slack!” Masaru whined as he tried to fight his way into sitting up again. Finally, though, his mount calmed down and the summoner hopped up into the saddle.

Masaru gripped the joystick at the front of the saddle and leaned forward. “Alright. Time to go for real now!” he said, and then to the shock of every onlooker, the Saddle Slime jumped thirty feet into the air and carried both of them into the distance.

“Wooohoooo!”

Aria

It wasn't long until Aria received another reply from Masaru, one that forced her to pause and re-read a few times in order to get the gist of what it was that he was trying to say. She wondered if he remembered that their meals for that day were being covered by Mauvache or not, shrugged and sent a simple "Sure, see you there!" and resumed waiting for him to arrive.

Sure enough, a large tadpole-looking slime with Masaru riding on top had entered through the door to the pub. "Honestly I don't know what I was expecting," Aria muttered to himself as Masaru approached, dismounting the slime. "Ok so, I haven't received a reply from Mauvache yet. I figured we could maybe search on the watch if there are local doctors or somethin' that we can use? I dunno, unless Tegur has any ideas, he's been here longer than either of us," Aria said, motioning to Tegur before realizing that it was maybe a bit rude to cut straight to business instead of first greeting Masaru. "Also hey, I hope you're not feeling too bad, I know how it can feel to suddenly get sick on your day off."

"It seemed like a pretty normal place to me."

"Guess it was because you were used to it...that it became a sort of norm' for you." Gavin shrugged, smiling slightly. "Now me there? I'd say that'd be ten times different...I'd be like a kid in a candy store!"

"I could show you some stuff I learned in hero school if you want in the meantime, if you show me what those gadgets do. They're really cool, and I might be able to bring the ideas back to my world for support items!"

Now this idea intrigued the young man. He slow rubbed his chin and thought about this. She show him a thing or two about what she learned in Hero School and he show her the wonders of his universe. At this point there was really no need to say anything else. "Alright, Snow Angel, I'm in. I'd be delighted to show you a thing or two about what my universe and world have at our disposal."

VEX took another white pawn and moved it as well. "I would not believe it would be classified as vigilante investigation. Quite the contrary, I believe it would most likely be qualified as assisting the law enforcement. After all, not everyone may have quite the strength others do, especially in the force."

The Korova region, being much less tourist friendly than other regions, isn't one that many people travel to in this day and age. It wasn't prepared to take in visitors with much pomp and circumstances. It did however have one thing going for it when it came to visitors from other regions and that was New Point Landing.
Located at the western edge of an island, which was itself to the west of the mainland, New Point Landing was the main place for visitors coming into the region and it, at least, had a dock that ships could stop at to drop of passengers which was more than can be said about most of the rest of the region.
Once upon a time the city was the place to go for trading and shopping. These days it has fallen far from its high point and many of the stores are closed and boarded up. Awaiting a day that the region was more prosperous. Many of the remaining stores were family-run and managed by stubborn folk who refused to let the city fall completely off of its original purpose. There existed a singular, larger, department store where the rare visitors were able to get most necessities for their travels.
The ship that was currently coming into the dock was different than most that the city would usually see. It resembled a cruise ship more than anything else and instead of supplies from other regions it instead was full of trainers.
Unbeknownst to the people of the city, nor truly the trainers themselves, these passengers included those who would be much more precious to the region than any other cargo. For these trainers were destined to take part in a struggle that would determine the fate of the entire region.
Pokemon trainers from across the world all coming here with the purpose of taking on the Pokemon League challenge and becoming the Champion that the region has been lacking for many long years.

Anneliese looked out at the city that approached. Her eyes were shining with excitement as she watched the city, much different than Sunnyshore City back home, came closer and closer. "My goodness Leopold, how do you think the ship knows when to stop without any eyes?" She asked the small, lion-cub-like, Shinx that was currently standing next to her and watching with great concern as she leaned over the edge of the railing with no regard to her own safety.
The Pokemon had no answer for her. He didn't have any more knowledge than she did about ships and he wouldn't be able to bring himself to correct her if he did.
This didn't stop the girl from continuing her dialogue with the small creature. "Oh look over there, that's Goldeen right? My goodness there's so many of them. Leopold do you see them right there?" She leaned over the edge to point out the Pokemon swimming along the side of the boat. In doing so she went too far and very nearly tumbled off the edge.
Only stopped by Leopold biting the bottom of her dress and pulling the girl backwards. She stumbled but managed to avoid falling as she looked down at Leopold. "Oh, what's wrong?" She asked, oblivious to how she had almost fell into the water. "Did you want something to eat?"
Leopold shook his head and wondered where the other humans that he had gathered to keep an eye on her were. He could do most of it himself but when Anneliese was this excited sometimes it could get...difficult. When the captain had informed them they would be required to set off in groups of three, for safety reasons, Leopold at first blanched at the idea of trusting strangers to accompany his trainer but he realized that it was something he'd have to accept. As long as they kept Anneliese safe and happy, of course.
      ---
As the ship docked everyone would be helped off of it by the crew. They were greeted by a tall middle-aged, man with mutton chops of such grandeur that they were nearly indistinguishable from a full beard. "Hello, and welcome...to Korova! I got word of your arrival and sallied forth to greet you! I am the dockmaster here, and I wish to be the first to welcome you all to my fair city, the jewel of this region, in my eyes at least, New Point Landing. I'm sure you'll find it accommodating to your needs...You may not even want to leave, gwahahahaha!"
"Oh what a delightful man!" Anneliese said as she smiled brightly at him. She wanted to stop and chat with the pleasant man some more but another part of her wished to hurry off to begin her adventure.
It was then she remembered that she had teammates with her and so she turned to the two of them with an even bigger smile, "So, where shall we start?"
