Popular Post Saikazo
OP - Honest Eyes - Black Tide ED - Flowers - Hana Hope Mountainguard, West Virginia. A completely ‘ordinary’ city filled with completely ‘ordinary’ sights and ‘ordinary’ people. On its outskirts lies “it”. Dead End Academy. Nicknamed “The final disposal site for problem children”, this school is kept tucked away from the rest of the city to keep its student population out of sight and out of mind. Here, all sorts mingle. From the brooding loner seeking power, to the troublesome smart kid trying to create a gang, to kids who are rumored to not even be human at all. This school, nay this city, is filled to the brim with problems and rot. A mysterious new drug making the rounds, trading sanity for power. The disappearances of beloved family members. The underground fighting ring accidentally raising a cult. The emergence of monsters beyond humanity’s common sense… All these problems and more will confront you at Dead End Academy. Can you make it to graduation alive? Will you be able to leave the same way you came? Rules and What You Should Expect Spoiler First and foremost, all NCM and RP section rules apply. That means no powerplaying, godmodding, etc. You know, obvious things that you should not do because you’re a decent human being. Also, super important, don't be an asshole. If a dispute breaks out, I have final say. I am the law. However, I can be lenient if you are calm and explain yourself well. If you do not post within several days from when you are needed to post, I reserve the right to move your character. If you do not post for two weeks, then I reserve the right to move on without your character or in worst case scenarios, write out your character. However, I can extend the timeline if you have a valid reason, but you have to tell me. This is PG-16 to allow all kind of things to happen. Death happens, bad things happen, good things happen, stuff happens. Circle of Life, Circle of Death. Most importantly, this RP will have multiple storylines going on at the same time. However, this will be open ended. You do not have to interact with a storyline, but do note the storyline will continue without you. If you ignore it, the problems you could have solved will spill into other things. However, this could also be a good thing, and you could have help from unexpected places, so don’t feel too pressured. Database Spoiler Mountainguard Spoiler A small city tucked away in the center of a ring of mountains, Mountainguard is somehow both connected and disconnected with the world. Most people who were born here will never leave, and many who move here find themselves trapped in this land. The town used to be flourishing, however, its time has passed. There are many empty buildings, remnants of old dreams that died in these mountains. Most of the houses are old, faded by time. The population is mostly of retirement age, yet it’s very hard to find a steady, well paying job. This land has strong ties to the mafia. Several prominent mafia families live here, all quietly playing gentlemen’s game of war. They have an underground fighting league that they use both for entertainment, and to settle disputes between them. Big businesses are also connected to this underground fighting league, and use it for the same purposes. Several different schools are scattered around the city, and each one is as underfunded as the others. The only decently funded school is the one near the center of the city, as it is where most of the people with generational wealth live and go to school. This city experiences all four seasons. Summer can become very hot and dry, easily hitting 90 °F (32.22 °C). Fall cools down, but then comes winter and springs. The temperature can fluctuate wildly, going anywhere from -2 °F (-18.89 °C) with a foot of snow all the way up to 60 °F (15.56 °C) all in the same week. There is a theater near the center of the city, and many small town restaurants litter the streets. The biggest building in the city is the Malwart Supercenter. Truly, a dead end town. Dead End Academy Spoiler Dead End Academy is divided into 4 years: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. No matter your age, you will start as freshmen. The placements are not determined by physical age but by ability to pass classes. There are three major gangs that rule the school, and a handful of smaller up and comers trying to overthrow bigger gangs. The gangs are mostly divided up by grades. The Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors all have separate gangs. Freshmen usually do not have the pull to make their own gang. Instead, a gang leader will usually approach a Freshmen and take them under their wing. If the freshman does well, they usually slot in when the gang leader moves up in grade. That way the power vacuum is filled. You all must move into dorms, which has been unofficially divided by the gangs. The administration is pretty lenient about transfers. It was designed to be a fluid system so they can easily separate problem children. This has led to apathy about transfers. There are 4 major dorms. The last dorm is a neutral zone where those not affiliated with gangs can sleep. There are clubs. You are not forced to join on, but joining one is incentived with benefits. Gimmicks Explanation Spoiler The truth is, technically we have a power system. However, that power system is rather broad. Observe the Venn Diagram with three categories: Science, Magic, Training. All your powers would fall somewhere on this chart. As for power levels, I’m not too worried, but probably something like, 1-A minus Deku in season 1 of My Hero Academia is the level I’m imagining you all. NPCs Spoiler The Principal, Marco Principale Spoiler Marco used to be the prison warden of the state's penitentiary, which just so happened to be in Mountainguard. After a long and successful tenure, he was suddenly let go without reason. However, thanks to the incredible amount of political power Marco had, they reassigned him to Dead End Academy, under the pretense of using him to reform troubled youths. He is bitter about this, however, he does not take this out on the kids. No, he is just naturally that tough on people. He's a no nonsense sort, who believes in rules and upholding the law. He is, however, overworked, and things may slip through the cracks where he can not see. The Gym Teacher, Terry Tyranno Spoiler Terry Tyranno is a superstar of pro wrestler. He has been heavyweight champion multiple times across the years. He is considered an unshakeable ace, able to do anything from death matches to authentic wrestling. He is here to help troubled children while also scouting for new talent. No one knows why such a big star is in such an isolated part of the country to do this. It is obviously not a punishment, as he approaches teaching with the same enthusiasm as he does his matches. The Counselor, John Preacher Spoiler John Preacher is the local youth pastor at the nearby church. During the weekends, he preaches at the church, and on weekdays, he works as a counselor at the school. He speaks with a heavy southern accent. He often tries to use the word of God to help people find their way back to the straight and narrow, but he is willing to stop if it is shown to upset those he tries to help. He is more worried about people finding their way back to goodness than he is preaching the word. The School Cook, Wilnas the Vermillion Spoiler Wilnas is a man(?) of wild passion and abundant kindness. He believes that breaking fists and passions in battle before breaking bread over tables is the best way to friendship. He is constantly trying to improve his craft, but he has a serious issue when it comes to using heat as a cooking component. He loves to cook and he loves it when people eat his food. Sadly, his tastes aren't exactly up to par. He is just as likely to serve you an amazing salad as he is a pile of charcoal that used to be a steak. The History/English Teacher, Richard Klein Spoiler Richard Klein is very old. Some even say he might be younger than the mountains, but older than the trees. Everyone in Mountainguard seems to have remembered him in their childhood, still being old. He seems to know everything about everything, but there is one subject that alludes him. Why he's still here, no one knows for sure. He is very cheap yet gets results so the school district will not get rid of him. The Math/Science Teacher, George Electricidad Spoiler George Electricidad is a serious and stern man. He hates nicknames, especially ones based off his last name. Despite his uptight demeanor, he does genuinely care for the students, seeing them as troubled youth that just need to be given a chance. This doesn't mean he'll let the students walk all over him, however. He has a natural knack for computers and math. The Art & Music Teacher, Stanley Smith Sr. (Yui) Spoiler Aside from his clear passion for the subjects he teaches and for theatre, it isn't really clear what Mr. Smith's past was like. Not helping the fact is he tends to not talk about himself, though it's generally believed he's an old friend of the principal from how he speaks about him. Because of this secrecy, coupled with his shady appearance, plenty of different rumors come and go about his past, though it's rare for him to address any of them, and even rarer for him to do so with a straight answer. He tends to arrange and pay out-of-pocket for smaller-scale school events, implying that whatever's going on in his life, he's making far more than just his underfunded teacher salary. The School Nurse & Janitor, Carlotta Petrucci (Yui) Spoiler A former enforcer of one of Mountainguard's mafia families, Carlotta was made to take the fall for a superior when their sloppy work was about to get them arrested. When she was eventually released, she took a keen interest in Dead End Academy, where she got to flex an even further-back time of her life spent as a promising med student, becoming a rather overqualified school nurse. She doesn't baby the students, reasoning that they must already be "tough little bastards" to be here at all, but she likewise doesn't half-ass her job if she deems something worth her attention. The school nurse and janitor used to be two separate positions, but eventually Carlotta started doing the latter's job for him when she declared he wasn't doing it well enough, and ended up taking his job in full. She doesn't make any effort to hide her past misdeeds, and is generally considered the second-worst person behind the principal to get in trouble with. Ken Umehara, Leader of the Senior Gang Spoiler Ken Umehara is the student lauded as the strongest person in the school. He has cemented his position and has remained undefeated for three years. Strength, tactics, tricks, all came crumbling down when pit against him. Unlike most who come to this school, Ken is widely known to not have committed any sort of crime or injustice. He came to this school of his own free will to start his gang to further his own goals. He is a quiet, stoic man who is determined to use his final year in school to finish whipping his gang into respectable members of society. Those who fall under his command are often seen doing charity and cleaning up the city. Aife Walker, Leader of the Junior Gang Spoiler Aife Walker has gathered many of the school's outcasts to form the Junior Gang. Known as the Amazon of War, she is an expert at weapon combat, willing and able to use anything as a weapon. She gained her status as gang leader after causing a school wide war for the position, crushing all her opponents. She attempted to overthrow Ken to become the one true gang leader, but she was unsuccessful at doing so. The two have a tense one sided rivalry, as she has not given up the idea on beating Ken in a fair fight for superiority. She is the kind who is harsh to those around her. People have seen her yelling at friend and foe alike, and even having used her friends as weapons to beat down her enemies. Everyone knows Aife isn't her real name, but no one knows what her name actually is. She's tight lipped about this info, and the last person that looked into it disappeared for a whole day and was found in a dumpster the next day. Dan Moore, Leader of the Sophmore Gang Spoiler Unlike the others, Dan isn't a physical powerhouse. Instead, he is the kind the strong gather around. A natural born leader, he directs his gang from the shadows. It's not actually common knowledge that he is the gang leader. Instead, he has a friend act as a figurehead. He is the kind to plan his enemies' downfall. He presents as a kind, polite man who just wants to help the freshmen, although his true intentions are unknown. He does not try to provoke the other two gang leaders, instead choosing to bind his time. He often acts as the voice of reason between Aife's hotblooded rage and Ken's steadfast morals. The New Student, Destiny Turner Spoiler A new freshmen in Dead End Academy, Destiny seems to be an average kid that no one understands. Or, she would, if it wasn't for the fact she was recently part of national headlines. An ultra radical religious cult known as the Army of the Stars was planning a violent revolution to overthrow the government. To back this threat, they managed to train cult members into soldiers and enhanced the threat with chemical weapons. However, the plot never got off the ground. The cult's leader, Thomas Turner, suddenly died. The cult lost their direction and fell into in-fighting, tearing it apart. The threat died before it ever came. As the adopted daughter of the cult leader, Destiny was in the dead center of all the media's attention. To both protect her from the media and to get her out of their hair, the government sent her to Dead End Academy. She is under constant government watch as she tries to create a new life for herself. Freshman Troublemaker, Kasey Jones Spoiler A native of Mountainguard. Another new freshman at Dead End Academy, Kasey wasn't originally the type to cause trouble. It was only after the disappearance of her brother and father did she begin to act up. She began to get into fights at school, until she was finally sent to Dead End Academy. It's obvious she has her own reasons to come here, but at the moment, she's tight lipped about it. ????? Popular Post LordCowCow
Can a machine have a soul? Asking for a friend. Spoiler Name: Catherine Smith/Jones/Whatever surname she thinks of at the time Age: Doesn't know "Freshman age" Art by Ryuuzaki Itsu Height: 4'10" Personality Spoiler Catherine is an absolute menace. She can act polite but it's usually just a front in order to strike with a barbed comment. She enjoys seeing people get frustrated or uncomfortable and thinks that it's a fun game she can have with others. Her biggest motivation is having fun and she doesn't seem to understand that her way of having fun isn't fun for the recipient. In this way she's quite self-centered as she thinks that if she's having a good time then surely other people are too. She's also, though she doesn't realize it herself, a lonely and frustrated soul and her attitude is an outlet of those feelings that she can't wrap her mind around. Not knowing much about her own self leads to doubt and uncertainty and those feelings are incredibly painful and so she tends to resort to teasing, taunting, and occasional aggression to help her ignore more complicated emotions. Catherine has much curiosity about things she doesn't understand. And she doesn't truly understand much. This curiosity can take the form of insistent, awkward, questions for which she has no shame for. However she doesn't know how to handle genuine kindness, compliments, or being teased in return. Backstory Spoiler Catherine woke up one day in a dumpster. She didn't know how she got there or who she was. When she left the dumpster she startled an elderly couple who, after trying to help her find her home to no avail (made even harder by the fact she couldn't speak), decided to take her home with them and raise her as their own. This went well for some time. Until Catherine figured out how to talk. From then on she would needle at the couple whenever she got the chance. They tried to deal with it and teach her to behave but, after a prank nearly went horribly wrong, they had had enough. They abandoned Catherine on the side of the road. And then she came back. And again. And again. She would always come back despite claiming to not even remember their names and address. Eventually they came up with a way to get her out of the house. Enroll her in a school. But not just any school. The only school that would possibly take in, and hope to contain, a creature such as Catherine. Dead End Academy. Gimmick: Mechanical Doll. Catherine has a doll body that for unknown reasons grants her incredibly high physical ability which can still function even in pieces. She also has a curious power to go into a "sleep" mode and possess a nearby object for a limited time. Though she believes she can't stray too far from her body. These objects seem to be similarly strong as her main body unless she wants them to break. Miscellaneous Spoiler -Catherine is actually a ghost possessing a broken mechanical doll. -She does not know that she is a ghost. -She believes that no one else knows she is a doll and is confused how anyone would guess it. -She does not do anything to hide her doll joints nor her strangely high strength she just does not realize anyone would think anything of it. Popular Post vivi_
"Yanking the chains of happenstance for fun and profit!" Spoiler "Because what else is a girl to do?" Name: Theodora Dorothy West "Plenty of ways to shorten that. Experiment, have fun with it!" Age: 16 Gimmick: Raised by Witches Dorothy was raised from birth by witches, and is well practiced in their wicked ways (for someone her age). Potions, hexes, enchantments, and even a bit of dabbling in voodoo from one particular winter vacation. Just don't expect her to throw around any fireballs or lightning bolts. "You're thinking of wizards, there. Whole different type of magic user!" Appearance: Spoiler Height: 5'5" Personality: Spoiler Theo is a boisterous girl who knows she has real power in her hands, and revels in it. If her witchcraft can solve the problem, rest assured she'll step up to the plate. Not for the sake of doing a good deed, of course, but because using magic is simply too fun to not use it at every opportunity! She'll even offer to use her spells and potions to do favors for others, but it can't be forgotten that she is still a witch at the end of the day. Magic is never given freely, and Dora takes her deals seriously. On the one hand this means that if nothing else, she can be taken at her word if she's made a deal, but if someone tries to wiggle their way out of fulfilling their end of the bargain, she'll do everything in her power to make sure they regret it. She also prides herself on not only sticking to the letter of her deals, but the spirit as well. "No fae trickster bullshit here! That's bad for business, after all." TD is also one of those "loves the sound of her own voice" types. She can and will talk and ramble at length about just about anything, and has trouble listening if the subject doesn't interest her on some level. She's also a rabid ragebaiter online, who believes very few of her "hot takes" and just enjoys getting the fiendish delight of stirring the pot without any of the face-to-face confrontation. In reality, despite her immense and very real confidence, and her loud & proud personality, Theo's actually bad at handling direct conflict. It's for this reason that she generally uses magic to get back at her aggressors; both to avoid facing them directly, and to discourage repeat conflicts. Backstory: Spoiler As she tells it, Theodora Dorothy West was taken in by a coven of witches at birth, raised deep in the woods away from big cities as if she was one of their own. They taught her the craft, and as luck had it, she took to it like a fish to water. Of course, a life spent purely in the woods is no life for a 21st-century girl, and those kindly witches were wise enough to let her intermingle with human society. She started school a bit behind the other kids, but her academic growth was proceeding at a good pace all the same. The other kids loved her, but the adults were apprehensive at best about letting children mingle with an actual witch. As she began striking magical deals with other kids, not only did this divide grow, but some kids began turning away from DW. Some even had either the courage or the foolishness to start bullying her over being a witch and/or being raised by them. For the most part, Theo would respond by simply cursing their mouths shut for an hour or two then going on her way. That scared away the more insecure bullies, and most of the others began to back down once Dora began getting more creative with her treatment of bullies. All except little Emily Watts. To this day, Theodora still isn't sure what Emily's beef was with her. All she knew was the girl had a mean streak a mile wide, and decided to unload every inch of it on the witch. No matter what she did to scare Emily off, she'd work around it and respond with ever-stronger hate. Curse her mouth shut? Emily would deface TD's locker, books, etc. Spike her drink with a potion? Rest assured Emily would find a way to put something even worse in Theo's lunch a day or two later. Eventually, Theo ended the conflict at the very end of middle school, by turning Emily into a rabbit and throwing her into the middle of the woods. It took two weeks to find the rabbit, and a couple more days after that to confirm she was in fact Emily Watts. That was the last straw, and Theo was told to pack her bags and get ready to go to Dead End Academy. Her mothers have never been more proud of her, and Emily is still a rabbit to this day. Misc: Spoiler Theo's full name (and habit of constantly changing the nickname she refers to herself with) is a shout-out to the most iconic witch of all time: The Wicked Witch of the West, whose name changes between various adaptations and other works. The 2021 novel "Oscar Diggs, The Wizard of Oz" dubs her Theodora Elphaba, and in the webcomic "Cheshire Crossing" she's called Miss West. TD's middle name is of course taken from the protagonist of The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy. Conversely, her middle school bully who was turned into a rabbit is named after two characters from the 1993 film Hocus Pocus. Allison Watts, the main character's love interest, and Emily Binx, the sister of the man who was turned into an immortal cat by the witches. Popular Post (X)
Everyday Everyman Spoiler "Just because I am out of my depth here doesn't mean I can't swim like hell!" Name: Matthew 'Matt' D. Guy Age: 16 Appearance: Spoiler Height: 5'9" (175 cm) Pictured is the photo from his official school ID. He doesn't usually appear nearly so dead, inside nor outside. Personality: Spoiler All things considered, Matt is a well-adjusted young man. He tries to help out wherever he can, and thinks the best of those around him. As a fresh Mountainguard, he isn't accustomed to the outrageous reality he now finds himself in, but ultimately he figures that that doesn't change the good nature he believes people to hold in general. Of course, that doesn't mean he is spineless; if he encounters something he feels is unjust, he will fight tooth and nail to improve conditions for everyone. He was taught at a young age to stand up to bullying, and he is ready to take that lesson to his new home, and new school. Academically, Matt is a bit of an underperformer, but that doesn't mean he is particularly dumb. Rather, he doesn't have terribly high personal ambitions compared to his parents. He figured that he would do best living a simple life and working in a corner store, or whatever else would pay for a cozy single-bedroom apartment. Truth be told, this left him thrilled for the move to Appalachia, and he listened to "Take Me Home, Country Roads" an embarrassing number of times on the plane ride. While things here aren't quite what he was expecting, especially within Dead End Academy, he isn't going to let that stop him from achieving his simple daydream of a life! Backstory: Spoiler Matt's childhood was in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood Hills as his father, Able Guy, was an accomplished actor in martial arts films. Of course, the Hollywood lifestyle isn't conducive to successfully raising a child, and Matt's mother (an independently successful corporate lawyer) filed for divorce when Matt was 14. Things went relatively uncontested, and his mother was granted full custody. Wanting to get away from the seedy underbelly of Hollywood that ruined her marriage, she moved herself and Matthew to the other side of the country, to the fly-over Appalachian town of Mountainguard. Matt's enrollment in Dead End Academy was, ultimately, a mistake. There were only a few high school options available in the town, and it was the closest to his and his mother's home, so it seemed so convenient that his mother didn't even notice the flowery language in the brochure dancing around the nature of the school as a refuge for delinquents. Regardless, this was something that Matt figured would stress her out if he made a fuss over it, so he decided to simply go with the flow and see exactly what Dead End Academy had to offer him. Popular Post Mr. Hyde
Mucha Lucha Spoiler "The Sky ain't Enough for a guy this Fly!" Name: Flynn Guerrero, A.K.A. Fly Boy Age: 18 Appearance: Spoiler Height: 185.9 CM Personality: Spoiler High spirited, and bursting with charisma, it's hard to catch Flynn Guerrero being anything be friendly and loud. He is a free spirit who roams where he pleases, but is very respectful of rules and boundaries. He loves to make new friends, and does what he can to help those he sees in need. He loves to cook for people, and can be often found passing his to-go boxes of food around the school grounds. He also has a profound work ethic, and trains constantly throughout the day in creative and efficient ways. The only real way to get on Flynn's bad side is to bully or look down on others. He is a believer in redemption, and looks for ways to bring people back to the path of righteousness, in theses cases. Backstory: Spoiler Flynn grew up in a large family, whose father was a retired World Heavyweight Champion for a major wrestling corporation. Growing up one of the youngest and smallest, Flynn did his best to stand out from his siblings often landing himself into bad situations, and getting hurt. They all admired their father for his work in the ring, and desperately wanted to return their family name to it. The living room always turned into a squared circle after dinner time, and smackdowns were a plenty. Flynn never won much, but when he did, it was always because his older brother, Rey, had let him. He always let Flynn win with a smile too! Rey always chose Flynn as his tag-team partner, and suffered a lot because of it! His brother told him never to worry about losing...as long as you had fun, and smiled while doing it. Flynn loved to smile with his brother. The losses and fractured bones were easier going at it together. Once Rey had gotten a steady gig performing real matches, Flynn always went to support him. Years later, contracts were signed, and their family name made a big return to the largest wrestling promotion in North America. It was a dream come true, and Flynn was right by Rey's side throughout city after city. However, early on into his brother's career, he suffered a career-ending injury. They say his opponent had gone off script, upset that they had to get this new kid over just because of his lineage. Rumor said this anger was a side effect from a dangerous drug slipping out from the East Coast. With his dreams cut short, Rey fell down a spiral of drug abuse and depression. No matter how hard Flynn tried to cheer him up, Rey never smiled again. The day after Flynn's twelfth birthday, Rey had disappeared. He left a note behind saying that he was leaving to try and get treatment for his injury out East, and to not worry about him. With this trauma now looming over the family, Flynn made a vow to do what his brother couldn't anymore. He would become a Luchador the world had never seen before! He trained tirelessly, day in and out, and even got a few amateur gigs. The first time he had stepped in the ring as an amateur, and donned his eagle mask, something had coursed through his body. The cheers of the crowd, although small, seemed to push him forward, and make him fly higher. You usually heard about this feeling in pro-wrestling interviews, but this was something different. The higher he flew off the ropes, the more the crowds cheered in amazement, and the more higher he could go, the farther he could throw his opponent, the harder it was to escape his grapples. Flynn had never realized this about himself before. He was always on the backfoot, always the one getting pinned. But he had a gift. After conquering the amateur circuit on the west coast, he was offered a chance for a title run in the big leagues...however that's not what he wanted. He wanted his brother to see him sign that contact...but first it was time to find him. He headed Eastward, and found a school full of people like him. Here, he could develop his gift and his wrestling even further, and find his brother along the way. He enrolled in Dead End Academy. Gimmick: Spoiler Wrestler's Will - Flynn has the ability to turn the cheers of other people for him into fighting spirit that enhances his physical prowess. His strength and stamina also continually increase over a fight. The total amount, sincerity, and passion of the cheering all affect this fighting spirit boost. A stadium of 1000 people cheering his name could possibly give him the strength to topple skyscrapers. However, he isn't powerless if no one is cheering him on. Flynn can store the cheers and hopes of his fans in his heart. These stored hopes and dreams have given him superhuman strength and durability in his base state. Flynn's ability is amplified greatly while in a sanctioned wrestling ring, or any place people have collectively deemed a spot for fighting. Tag Team - Flynn can actively grant allies he deems as a Tag-Team Partner a portion of the strength he gains from his Wrestler's Will. This can be activated by "Tagging In" his ally by smacking their hand. Miscellaneous: Spoiler Flynn is a Technical Wrestler, often opting for grapples and locks to force his opponent to tap out. His Signature Move is called the Swirling Eagle Drop, a move where he throws his opponent to the ropes as they rebound into Flynn. He then throws them into the air, jumping to meet them and putting them into a figure four leg lock. He then spins, causing him and his opponent to twist and crash into the ground. If the move doesn't knock out the opponent, his Figure 4 will be the finish by having the opponent tap out. Flynn hopes to never turn heel. Popular Post Chaos Sonic
Bark at the Moon Spoiler "Time to break the chains that bind me in this world..." Name: Blake Howard Age: 16 Appearance: Spoiler Height: 5'8 Moon Buckle... Tribal Card - Fenrir! Transform!! Wolf Warrior: Fenris!!! Spoiler Personality: Spoiler Despite losing practically everything and being put in a situation with a horrid and abusive guardian, Blake has done his absolute best to be someone that anyone can count on and come to for help. And while his demeanor and appearance may say “Don't bother me”, he is as friendly as they come… but he doesn't let that show too much, as he finds it being a weakness in some regards, though this comes from the years of abuse he had by someone he thought he could trust. His main trigger at present happens to be seeing those younger or smaller being knocked around. Whenever he sees it, Blake tends to see himself in the situation, in which he becomes enraged and if this happens… he tends to act on instinct and rush headfirst into the situation… which could be either good or bad. He's trying to cut down on this, namely by trying to put his attention elsewhere on it, which could be a reason he's always found chewing on some kind of gum as this could drop the stress hormones down… this being the biggest coping mechanism he has with dealing with his issue. Backstory: Spoiler If you were to tell Blake Howard that his world would be flipped on its head to where everything changed for him… he'd probably think you were punking him. But this is the unfortunate and sad reality of it all. His descent and spiral into the life he now leads all starts with his time on the Westcoast, in Los Angeles, California. His father, Ashton Howard, was the lead scientist for an organization known as VALKYRIE. What he really did there, Blake never knew, but he did know he was on a secret project and would be constantly away from home. His mother, well she was an absentee, not wanting to be shackled by her husband's work nor to a child that did nothing but remind her of him, she wished to be free and travel the world… so she did, and left Blake in the care of her brother, Eric. His uncle never cared for Blake, and he would find that out quite quickly. The day came: March 26th… what came to be known as the “Ragnarok Incident”, the VALKYRIE facility erupted into an explosion and killed thousands… one of those casualties was Ashton himself. With his father now gone and no clue about his mother's whereabouts, he was stuck living with his uncle. Eric would beat the boy in many alcoholic rages and fits, and each time, Blake would buck up against him and defend himself. This caused him to start a rebellious phase, trying his best to keep himself from doing what his uncle would tell him to do or what he needed to do. These fights would continue for a good few years, until Eric finally had enough and wanted this troublesome teen out of his life for good. So he sent him to be shipped to Dead End Academy. However, within the days that lead up to his shipping to this school for troublemakers, as Blake would call it, a package was delivered to him… addressed to him. Upon opening it up, revealing a strange device: a belt and buckle. With it, came a letter, with his father's handwriting. It spoke of this being a contingency plan if he were ever to perish. It mentioned what would cause the “Ragnarok Incident”, a rival company known as NORNIR, sabotaging their work on what was in this package: the Moon Buckle. He said that this buckle would revolutionize science and help the world and to protect it. He apologized at the end, wishing he gave more time to Blake but asked him to take the buckle and to use it for good. Strangely enough, the letter even mentioned Mountainguard as a potential location to start looking for clues to what NORNIR was after. Fate… was a funny thing indeed. Taking the Moon Buckle in hand, armed with it and the strange card with a tribal wolf on it, Blake swallowed the bitter pill that was his life and took this new challenge and responsibility head on… he'd find some answers about the “Ragnarok Incident”... and he'd start at Dead End Academy. Gimmick: Spoiler The Moon Buckle "There is an old story of a creature you've probably seen in ancient history… in the many myths and legends our world has to offer. A beast slumbering in the deepest, coldest reaches of Norse legends… the son brought forth from a deity… its chilling howl shakes the very core of the World Tree. It is this creature… that we have come to emulate and take inspiration from… Break the chains that bind you in this world." A scientific creation made by Blake's late father, a tool that would bestow him the ability to transform and utilize the power of the creature known as Fenrir. Its design has the side view of a wolf, with a slot on the side, in which a card of a tribal designed wolf is slid into. Once slid in, the wolf on the buckle shoots open its mouth and the transformation is in place. The Wolf Warrior: Fenris suit grants him heightened abilities, such as the ability to move faster and tank hits a bit more than without it. He also has access to the suit's claws which allow for better results in hand to hand combat. But if this isn't enough, he can utilize the Moon Axe. Once it's worn by the user, the wearer's genetic make-up is uploaded into it, making it to where only the wearer can access it: truly a perfect failsafe. The Moon Buckle has the capability of having Blake use different forms, but the appropriate cards reflecting the Nine Realms, are unavailable to him as of now. Lángzhǎo (Wolf Claw) Blake learned this style of Kung-Fu, which focuses on close-quarter combat, low-stance and ground fighting, which makes frequent utilization of tactics that simulate a wolf's tenacity. The movements tend to simulate a “clawing” motion, including gripping, ripping, tearing, and piercing, often incorporating joint locks and nerve attacks. Miscellaneous: Blake's Theme | Moon Buckle... Transform! | Battle Theme Blake's name comes from two different characters that have had some sort of "werewolf" motif about them: Blake - this comes from the character "Blake Lovell" from the 2025 movie, "Wolfman, played by Christopher Abbot. Howard - this comes from the character "Scott Howard" from the 1985 movie, "Teen Wolf", played by Michael J. Fox. This character and idea of my own Kamen Rider OC and story beats. This is me trying to see if I can work it out in a story based format. Edited March 2 by Chaos Sonic
Popular Post Doggo
We've Been Trying to Reach You About Your Car's Extended Warranty Spoiler Name: Ori Age: 15 Appearance: Spoiler Art by Fleur Height: 5'1" / 155 cm Wingspan: 10' / 305 cm Ignore the leash and collar. Personality: Spoiler Ori invests a lot of themselves into every day interactions and activities. Distractions are tiring as they try to earnestly do everything they undertake. Even simple conversations can wear them out because they try to choose their words with care. Their mind moves much faster than their lips and they find they often have to sift through piles of sarcastic quips to arrive at anything they actually say out loud. Comparatively in online spaces they type very freely, often sending insults before thinking twice. They overthink personal consequences for hypothetical actions but often fail to extend anyone else the same courtesy. They're comfortable with the idea of theft so long as it benefits them and won't immediately get them in trouble. Their gimmick has facilitated impulses like this and pushed them to act faster on them than their worried mind might otherwise do. At least when they think no one's watching. Ori places more value on things they think are true rather than anyone's feelings on the matter, even friends. They tend to be playfully blunt but this shifts to defensive deflection the moment some becomes aggressive in posture or tone in person with them. Apologies tend to only come when thus threatened and often ring hollow as a result. In relaxed settings Ori is unapologetically themselves, embracing their unique brand of cringe in speech, clothing and interests. Backstory: Spoiler Ori's memories prior to their twelfth birthday are largely blurry in their mind. This is in part by design. On their twelfth birthday they received a new smart phone but almost immediately they were spammed by incessant emails. Confused, they opened one and the device soon crashed. They tried to ignore it but soon all of the windows in the house shattered around them. Their memories fail them for the rest of that day but the next day in their room their face was cut and bruised. Open on the phone was the email that had specifically warned glass would shatter around them if they failed to forward the message. Thus began Ori's work to explore the bounds of this strange device. It came with a lot of pain as few of the emails were anything remotely beneficial. But then one finally changed Ori's physical appearance. They absorbed coding tutorials offline in an effort to corral the virus into a usable state and managed to cobble together a platform to make it start putting out messages Ori themselves wrote. Slowly they also learned they could use the chain letters to affect other people, cause inconveniences for people they didn't like, hurt people that hurt them, even crash computer systems and steal money for their own use. The process not being like any conventional virus they went free for some time despite a mounting list of cyber crimes. Over time Ori carefully altered themselves into their current appearance and in the process stripped away memories of foster homes, hurtful parental figures, abusive siblings, sleepless nights and left only what they felt inside was their truth. But one memory they did keep. That once they finally looked outside how they felt inside, the family they were with called them a monster and called the police. Ori spent some time locked up, hiding their phone from ever being confiscated with a carefully crafted curse to make it invisible to most other people. Eventually it was decided where they would go: Dead End Academy. Gimmick: Spoiler Chain Letter Curse Ori's smartphone is patient zero for a magical computer virus that will harass targets with incessant chain letter email spam. The threats of failure to forward seemed nearly random early on. Through their own tinkering Ori has learned how to code around the virus to get it to write specific messages and curses that will take effect. Then, whether by connecting their phone directly to another device or via wifi/bluetooth they can cause curses to either hack systems or curse the owners of the devices unless they somehow begin forwarding the letter very quickly. These curses cannot manifest inanimate objects but can cause the person to interact with things around them or that they might encounter. In a pinch they can send a letter to themselves with curses threatening people around them but the virus is finicky about perfectly following directions given this way, often catching others nearby in the effects. Curse effects tend to last an hour but can last any set length of time depending on how long Ori has to let the virus upload continued letters. Ori's current appearance is a product of a series of carefully crafted self curses with a lot of trial and error undoing mistakes and tweaking to their likes. Theoretically they could alter their or anyone else's appearance at any time but in practice Ori warns it's an exhausting process to go through alterations this way and they can never promise a perfect curse first time. Despite the wings, Ori would have to craft a series of self curses to actually fly with them for any amount of time. Miscellaneous: Spoiler Ori named themself and has forgotten any surname they ever legally bore. They have long been unable to weasel out an early curse that makes them allergic to cinnamon from the various effects placed upon themself and will often complain when they can smell it anywhere as they greatly enjoy the scent and flavor. Tried to use their gimmick in conjunction with a LLM AI chatbot once. We do not talk about the results.
Saikazo
Karate Star Wars Spoiler Name: Reno Kishima Age: 16 Appearance Spoiler Height: 5'11 (180.3 cm) Personality Spoiler Reno is a guy as rough as sandpaper. He seems to have an endless enthusiasm for fighting and violence, always willing to fight his way through things instead of taking a peaceful route. Even worse, in fights he's condescending to his opponents. He often belittles and provokes his enemies at any given chance. To top it all off, he's not very smart, making him what most people call a hotheaded meathead. If by some miracle someone pushes through all this, they'll find he apparently has good points. He's less aggressive and even somewhat protective of those that stick with him. He is not the kind to call someone a friend, but he will step up if someone insults or harms a person he got close to. Genuine praise also throws him off balance, as he's not used to getting that. It's as if the arrogance he displays is simply a wall built to protect his most vulnerable part. Backstory Spoiler For generations, the Kishima clan were monster hunters. Thanks to their hertiage derived from an ancient foreign monster, they were far stronger than the average human. They stayed in the mountains, carefully cultivating their bloodline with only the strongest humans or creatures to produce the strongest offspring. Even as monsters grew rarer and hid from human civilization, the Kishima clan continued this practice, determined to never be caught off guard by any monster. Reno was born with perhaps the greatest potential for strength that the family had seen for generations. He grew up amongst his family, training his inhuman blood from the moment he was developed enough to walk and talk. Until the age of eight, he lived a grueling but fulfilling life in the mountains, his potential skyrocketing. On his eight birthday the Kishima clan came to an end. It was not by humanity, for they knew not of their existence. Nor was it by monsters, for their numbers were too small. No, what wiped out the Kishima clan came from within. Reno's father succumbed to his monstrous instincts. His inhuman blood screamed for blood, and Reno's father gave in. He overpowered the rest of the clan, slaughtering them with his bare hands. Even Reno's own mother was slaughtered. However, even as a rampaging monster, Reno's father wanted one thing. A good fight. And there was only one who could give it to him. Reno was spared from the slaughter, but not before his face and chest were scarred by his father's inhuman power. He was then tossed into the world, forced to fend for himself. Reno made a vow he would kill his father. However, he was now disgusted by the inhuman power that flowed within him. He would become strong enough to overcome his father, by nothing but human strength. From then on, Reno became a pursuer of strength. He trained under many martial arts, went to many different schools. However, his own temper was a major weakness he could never overcome. He constantly got into fights, constantly kicked out of towns for his violence. Eventually, it came to a point there was only one place left that would accept him. One place left that would take in a troubled boy, a rampaging monster. He found his way to Dead End Academy. Gimmick Spoiler Monster Inheritance: Reno is not a pure blooded human. Monster blood flows through his veins, granting him powers beyond human. Super strength, enhanced reflexes, and the ability to command fire. All these were things gifted to him by his heritage. Sadly, these come at a cost. Getting too intoxicated by violence or getting too enraged has the chance to flip a switch within him. He has the chance to become a raging beast whose instincts for violence override his rational mind. His hair turns a brilliant vermillion, his eyes become a violent shade of red, and his skin turns a fiery crimson. If he falls to this monstrous side, there is a good chance he will never return to his rational self. Martial Arts: Disgusted by the monster inside of him, Reno decided to focus solely on his power as a human. He has trained extensively in martial art. Although the question is, does his great strength come from his hard work, or his inheritance? FourEyesIsAFish
BEACH BLOCKBUSTER Spoiler "Can you ever miss the sea if you ARE the sea? I ask myself that a lot." Name: Naluea "Nalu" Kainoa Age: ??? (Appears roughly 16) Gender: Genderfluid (Uses She/Any) Appearance: Spoiler Nalu's true form is an amoeboid, amorphous creature resembling a blend of the general shape of a shark or other large fish and a wave. The only consistent feature of this organism are two flat, large decal-like eyes covering her "head", and she typically also presents with a dorsal fin and long, shark-like tail. Nalu is always translucent in her true form, typically assuming the blue-green mottling of the ocean sea, with whitish-pale seafoam throughout. Nalu's shapeshifting (see gimmick) typically manifests in this form as manifesting sharklike jaws, pseudopods resembling limbs made of water and seafoam, or full body parts embedded in her gelatinous mass which appear to be half-dissolved. Nalu's monster form is, at its maximum size, around 10' tall and 15-20' long. Nalu's human form is, naturally, very malleable in terms of appearance and physique, but she typically presents as androgynous teen, most of the time with a somewhat athletic physique. Nalu's "skin" (really an outer membrane) is typically brown, and usually manifests "ripples" resembling scars. Her hair is typically a pixie cut styled after waves in a mix of blue-greens fading to off white. Nalu's eyes appear large, dull, and slightly flattened, with large, dark irises impossible to differentiate from her pupils (if she has them). Her teeth appear sharper than normal. In terms of outfits, Nalu typically wears swim-ready beachwear at all times of year, preferring board shorts, tank tops, and one-piece swimsuits, but incorporating modified life vests, hawaiian shirts, and wetsuit elements as added layers if needed. Nalu's human form varies dramatically in height and build, but she on average she is typically around 5'2"-5'6" for a given margin of error. Personality: Spoiler Naluea Kainoa as a person is full of contradictions. On one hand, she's extremely funny and friendly, and barely has a malicious bone in her body (especially she barely has bones at all). On the other hand, she is an extremely dangerous, amoral predator who has a decent chance of suggesting eating somebody alive in the course of conversation. Neither of these sides are fake, or in conflict - they're both aspects of a deeply unusual person. Nalu is rather new to the whole "being human" thing, giving her an outsider's perspective on personhood and all that it entails. In practice, this means that Nalu is both very naive and lacks basically any sort of traditional moral compass. Talk to her long enough, and Nalu will eventually say something totally out of pocket or inappropriate without realizing it, and while she quickly course corrects if told about the mistake, she hasn't really internalized any sort of morality yet. It also makes it difficult for her to relate to other people - or even see them as other people, in some cases. Once she gets to know someone, though, Nalu can form genuine, very close bonds with others, ones she would savage the world to protect. Nalu is hyperactive to the point of near frenzy, filled with a euphoria and curiosity which's driven her forward since her 'adoption'. This often drives her to talk to new people and rush forward into trying new things... but it also drives her more destructive impulses, which she finds very hard to deny. This means that she is often an absolute gremlin, which combined with her lack of morals and gullibility means she can be quickly convinced to break rules and participate in illegal activity if she likes you. Nalu is capable off being extremely violent, and she tends to be physical in a lot of social interactions - for better and worse, because she often underestimates her own strength and overestimates the strength of others. The fact she's been banned from most sports as a result deeply saddens her. Nalu's hyperactivity causes her to also be an emotional maelstrom - she feels emotions far more strongly than other people, and feels the deep urge to act on them. She's still struggling to find ways to move past these feelings without doing something destructive. Nalu's hyperactive joy drives a deep hyperfixation of film, especially monster movies, which she deeply relates to. One of the best ways to calm her down from a rampage or meltdown is to expose her to a monster film, especially one about the ocean or a shapeshifter. She'll probably talk your ear off about it, but it's probably better than wrecking part of the school. Backstory: Spoiler The thing that would eventually be known as Naluea Kainoa was first discovered around 3-4 years ago off the coast of the Hawaiian Islands. Researchers from Typhon Industries, a San Fransisco-based biotech firm, captured the organism at the objections of Dr. Lani Kainoa, the local marine biologist and ethologist accompanying them. Dr. Kainoa tried to warn them that the lifeform was more cunning than they thought, and that experimenting on it would only provoke it. They laughed her off. The resulting containment breach and rampage (which claimed the lives of 20 of the site's staff) was predictable to the point of cliche. All it left Lani with was a missing arm and a mild feeling of smugness covered almost entirely with guilt. Guilt for not having done more. Guilt for the sea monster, even, for whom she was its only source of solace. And so, given it was clearly sapient and recognized her, she decided to use her ethology background to try and adjust this creature to the outside world. It took a year to realize that made her a mom. Now, Lani is sending her test subject daughter out to the one boarding school that can possibly handle her, with the hope that she might learn more about morality and social life out there than she can living in an isolated seaside lab. And while she's so, so proud of her child... She's worried something may go horribly wrong. Gimmick: Spoiler Monster Wave Nalu's natural form is a monstrous, massive amorphous, aqueous organism, like an amoeba given form as a wave-shark. Nalu moves in this form like a flowing wrecking ball, hitting as hard as a monster wave and moving just as fast. In addition, her fluid body lets her flow into thin cracks or spread out as large "puddles" to fluidly skulk and dodge attacks. Nalu's body is primarily composed of an outer membrane containing an internal cytoplasmic matrix, and thus she has very few vital organs to actually target, and is similarly resistant to a lot of physical and especially fire damage. Similarly, they are able to absorb things into their matrix for digestion. Nalu's senses are decently... different than most humans. She has very potent senses of smell, touch (and vibratoreception), taste, and hearing, though her eyesight is slightly worse than most people. In addition, Nalu is capable of electroreception similar to that of sharks, though it is significantly weaker outside of water. Additionally, her senses of electroreception and hearing easy to overwhelm with electrical or sonic stimuli, and even small shocks and especially loud noises can cause her significant pain and disorientation. Thing From The Deep In addition to the capabilities of its fluid natural form, Nalu has another major ability: shapeshifting. Thanks to a combination of genetic memory, polymorphic gene expression, and reactions within her gelatinous matrix that science is still trying to decipher, Nalu is able to shift, compress, and freely alter her form in a variety of ways. She can harden her outer membrane to resemble skin, precipitate dissolved minerals into structures resembling teeth, nails, and other hard structures, and otherwise shapeshift into something close to a species she's previously assimilated. These forms are primarily still just an outer membrane surrounding Nalu's gelatinous inner body, and thus she keeps her resistance to physical trauma, even if it may cause superficial damage to the membrane. Emotional turmoil can also cause her disguise to "deteriorate". Nalu's alternate forms generally have three tells - they tend to move oddly and be more "squishy" than normal because of lack of internal organs, her skin tends to be at least somewhat translucent, and her shadow will always resemble that of a wave, being less dark than normal and having caustics dancing within. Miscellaneous: Spoiler Beachcomber ~~ Nalu's Casual Theme | MONSTER ON THE SILVER SEA ~~ Nalu's Battle Theme Text Formating: Tahoma font, Color #3498db Nalu's first name means rising wave or rising surf in Hawaiian (from nalu [wave/surf] and ea [to rise]), while her surname means "sea of freedom" (from kai [ocean] and noa [freedom]). Despite her inhuman inheritance, Nalu identifies as kānaka maoli (native Hawaiian) since she is both from the sea around Hawaii and was raised in that cultural background by her mom. She's also at least somewhat fluent in both English and Hawaiian (ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi). Nalu was mostly inspired by various monster movies, including The Blob, The Thing, Deep Rising, and Jaws, as well as secondarily water monsters like Perfect Chaos/the Squisher Oozurf from Hypnospace Outlaw, as well as partially by Hawaiian folklore and the concept of red herrings, movie monsters, and summer/beach movies Nalu is a hypercarnivore and, while capable of digesting plants and fungi in theory, needs most of her diet to be protein-rich meat. This naturally leads to her preferring meat-heavy dishes. Nalu's interested in getting involved with Dead End Academy's film club and swim team.
