When Yue spoke up Rona was shocked for several reasons.

One, Yue spoke.

Two, Yue spoke in a confrontational manner...more or less.

And three, Yue said that she trusted her.

Maybe Rona had just been blind to it but she hadn't realized that Yue thought well of her at all. It was a relief to say the least. Especially given the girl was a wielder of a bow...Though in this situation she wondered if she had made herself even more of an enemy of Edda. She still didn't know if the girl knew more than she was letting on and it wouldn't do to upset her.

But the Wyvern Rider couldn't deny that she was glad for the support. Rona placed a hand on Yue's shoulder. "I won't let anyone come to harm, you don't have to worry about that."

"Our task is simple. We are to escort Edda to the Port Town of Enta. It'll be a long trip, so get ready for more walking than normal."

Rona winced slightly, atop of Cormag. "I'd give someone a lift but..." Cormag's growl as a response made it clear that wouldn't work out. "Well, you know." She finished with a laugh. Some day she'd get Cormag used to other people. It wasn't right that she rode while her commander had to walk.

"Skies seem pretty clear today." Rona declared. "Well, danger-wise that is." The clouds had gathered but it didn't seem like it would rain. She had been taking to the skies at regular intervals to check for any trouble. Thus far there hadn't been anything to indicate there would be trouble. Being the only flier left to the group proved to be a lot of work. It reminded her of back when it was just her and Leon. Though that had been even worse. She'd interrupt her scouting to double check on the lone Mercenary multiple times.

"You all might as well relax. I'll be alert enough for everyone!"

"I understand, but as it is, if she's really just a lost traveler, then it's our job to help her out."

Yue nodded, shrinking in on herself. Why did I even say anything? she wondered, before getting distracted by Rona's next words, accompanied by a hand on her shoulder.

"I won't let anyone come to harm, you don't have to worry about that."

Her hand's...really warm...no, that's not important right now. The girl looked up, blushing. "A-a-all right, thank you R-Rona."

--

The group had set out from their home fortress early that morning, staying to the road for the most part. Their leader, was, of course, ever vigilant, even as he addressed them all. "Our task is simple. We are to escort Edda to the Port Town of Enta. It'll be a long trip, so get ready for more walking than normal."

Rona winced slightly, atop of Cormag. "I'd give someone a lift but..." Cormag growled. "Well, you know." She finished with a laugh.

Riding with Rona... Yue pondered as she walked. I bet it'd be really cool, flying through the sky like that, but also...really dangerous. And scary. But if Rona were there... Then what? I doubt she'd let anybody get hurt. Maybe it'd be safe with her there.

"Skies seem pretty clear today." Rona declared. "Well, danger-wise that is. You all might as well relax. I'll be alert enough for everyone!"

She's always making sure we're all safe and accounted for, the archer smiled, and then glanced at Edda, her smile slowly morphing into a frown. I hope she won't have to keep us safe from...her.

She really didn't know much about this girl, aside from the little she had gleaned from listening in on the previous conversation. That this girl worshiped a dragon, that she was Jouran, and that Rona didn't like her. That alone was enough to make her suspicious. Now, Yue didn't particularly hate Jourans. After all, Rona was a Jouran, and she was an admirable example of a person if ever there was one. Even Raynor seemed...not as bad as she had originally thought. However, she was wary of this girl, who Rona, a fellow Jouran, didn't even trust.

Discreetly, the archer took a couple steps away from Edda, before turning to the nearest person who happened to be...Ada. She blanched, before quickly calming herself. Ada or Edda...both bad options, but one worse than the other. Taking a breath, she started to speak. "Um...uh..." she hesitated. "Nice weather...we're...having?" She trailed off into silence. Oh spirits oh spirits oh no what do I even say next? What do you say after the weather? This is why I can never talk to people. I never know what to talk about. Everybody always gives me weird looks when I speak, makes me wonder if I should even bother. Oh spirits maybe I should've just...stayed silent. Yes. Silence I can handle.

"Our task is simple. We are to escort Edda to the Port Town of Enta. It'll be a long trip, so get ready for more walking than normal." Well, that certainly sounded simple enough. Couldn't be anything that hard besides a few bandits or monsters.

"I'd give someone a lift but..." Rona attempted to offer, but Cormag's growl as a response made it clear that wouldn't work out. "Well, you know." Yeah, Cormag didn't seem as open as Gojira when it came to the subjects of rides. Then again, the Salamander certainly seemed to prefer females on its back. Maybe because they were lighter? Raynor didn't comprehend everything that ran in a Salamander's head.

Speaking of rides...

Raynor directed Gojira to slow down some as he lined himself up with their client. The new Jouran seemed mighty uncomfortable walking, but thankfully, they could elevate that. "Oy, oy," he called as Gojira slowed his pace to match Edda's walk. "If you get tired of walkin', let me know, yeah? We can swap places. I might be a rider, but I can walk,"

The client looked over, and attempted to waved him off saying, "It's fine. It's fine. I'm used to walking- well, now I am - and...yeah..." The girl's eyes shifted between the mount and away from them, and kept on walking.

"Are ya sure?" Raynor asked as he leaned over in an effort to get closer and look in her eyes. "Because between you and me, I think ol' Gojira here would enjoy carryin' a pretty lady like you over a rough boy like me," Gojira snorted in response, causing Raynor to sit back up. "Oy, don't you try to deny it. You love giving women rides,"

Edda crossed her arms, and kept her head turned away from Raynor saying, "Flattery will get you nowhere. Besides... I like walking. It's... good for the spirit." Raynor had a feeling she was sort of making this up as she went along, but before he could point that out, she turned to the man saying, "Why are you riding them around anyway? Er, why are they - and that wyvern - even here?"

"Well, as the newest member, I can't really speak for the wyvern as I dunno their story, but for me, it's a family tradition you might say. My family's always been Salamander riders. Besides, I raised Gojira here from birth. Can't really just abandon him while I travel," Raynor answered, not realizing he might have misunderstood the question being asked.

"I... see." Edda only seemed more confused. "And you just... ended up traveling. To here?"

"Well, yeah. That's exactly what happened. I took a likin' to these guys, so I stuck around," he then paused, thinking to himself. "Is something goin' on in the home country? Like, I used to get weird looks, mostly because of Gojira here, but... People seem to be getting kinda hostile. Am I missing some important news?"

Edda furrowed her brow as she said, "Isn't that normal? But... well... where are you from?" Was it normal? That was news to him. Maybe he was attributing the weird looks and things too much to Gojira? He figured people seeing a strange animal not native to their lands would put them on edge... but maybe it was something more....

"I'm from Sanzar myself," Raynor replied. "What about you?"

Edda seemed to be partially relieved by this, but took some time before simply answering, "The north. Very north."

"Ooooh mysterious," Raynor said teasingly. "You're lucky I already nicknamed Yue Snow Fairy, because that one's perfect for ya," he paused. It was obvious she was hiding something... But it wasn't his business. "Well, anyways, just keep in mind the offer. If ya need something else, don't hesitate to ask," he said as Gojira began to pull forward.

The girl looked away from him, but simply muttered, "Thanks." Raynor just waved as he pulled away. Now he had to pay attention. With Rona in the sky and him on the ground, they should be able to find any threats and make sure nothing got to them.

"Our task is simple. We are to escort Edda to the Port Town of Enta. It'll be a long trip, so get ready for more walking than normal."

With those simple words, their expedition had begun, Ada wearing a more Aeoran cloak to protect her skin. The shaman felt like she had spent the least amount of time with Edda out of anyone in the group, mostly due to the distractions with Raynor, who she was... still undecided on. He was a good guy, especially if his care for Gojira was any indicator, but she could not make sense of his motivations. However, the way he was interacting with Edda seemed to imply he had meant nothing by it. Which was great. She had no interest in him anyway. Right...?

As Ada grit her teeth a little, she barely even registered that Yue had spoken to her.

"Um...uh..." The archer began, then muttered the rest. "Nice weather...we're...having?"

"Huh? O-oh, yeah. The sun's not as bright as it normally is, so I don't feel like my skin is getting too much heat, haha," Ada replied nervously, unsure of what to say to the shy girl. "But I would think you'd like it a bit brighter, wouldn't you?"

"Our task is simple. We are to escort Edda to the Port Town of Enta. It'll be a long trip, so get ready for more walking than normal."

Simple, to the point, effective. That was really all that Layne could have asked for, honestly. With how long this had taken to get properly set up, between Edda's stubbornness and the fact that Rona was oddly suspicious of the woman, it was nice for them to just be on the move again. Layne hadn't taken much time to properly set up his supplies before hand, his first aid pouch had needed a little bit of restocking for the road, but other than that, it was a relatively quick preparation on his end.

Layne also appreciated the fact that the sun wasn't blaring down in full force this afternoon. While it was certainly warm, he didn't feel like he was getting beaten down by the heat for once and was able to quietly whistle to himself, trailing behind the others just a bit as he kept his eyes out. While he had to no reason to feel slightly... Concerned, to say the least, there was always the risk of an ambush. And if he was caught in an ambush, it was a pain in the ass to get out unscathed. The others talked among themselves, Edda and Raynor seemed to be kicking it off. And with Ada and Yue talking to each other, he felt it was best to keep to himself in the back for the time being, a light tune that carried from him just a tad, the cleric idly twirling his healing staff in his hands, tossing it from one to the other.

"It's really quiet out on the roads today..." He clicked his tongue for a moment, before speaking up louder, "...Anyone know if there's been any reports of bandit activity lately? I'm... A slight bit twitchy right now."

As Layne had made his comment about bandits, Leon turned back saying, "there's generally a lot of gangs around this area." Pulling out a map of Aeora, he pointed to where they were, the South-western part of Aeora saying, "this is where we are right now, and," he pointed northward towards Faeus and then south eastward towards Enta. "These are the two most major centers of power. We're in a bit of a political void around these areas and they aren't nearly as supervised, so crime tends to happen a lot more. So, we should probably keep our wits about us. " The boy then turned back, seeming to still look around with a bit of concern on his face.

"Wonderful," was all that could be heard from Edda, at the comment.

Eventually, the group had kept moving through the road, until Rona had been able to see what looked like a scene of a crime. What appeared to be the remnants of an attacked caravan, carts and the manner either on their side, abandoned, broken or some combination of the three. While the wyvern riders seemed to have her doubts about the scene, wanting to steer clear of it, the commander pondered it for a moment. As dangerous as this area of Aeora was, the roads were still the safest part to travel on, and if there was someone in trouble, the boy didn't want to risk of the chance of aiding them. Turning to the rest of the Falcons, Leon said, "alright, there's a sign that some kind of struggle took place up ahead. Keep your wits about you since we don't know where their attackers might have gone."

With that, Leon lead the group up the road, walking cautiously towards the caravan. As they got close, though, they would be able to hear very obvious sounds of things moving around in the broken carriages. Bursting out from the covers, bandits seemed to pour out of the wooden vehicles, all sneering and at the ready to attack. Behind the furthest carriage, one bandit turned to another saying, "look boss! We did it! Your trap worked like a charm."

The boss, as it were, let out a sigh as he saw the group get close. "You dolt. I told you to jump out when they got in the center of our trap. Does that," he motioned over to them, "look like the center?" Before the lesser bandit could respond, the boss looked at the group again. "Wait...why is there a wyver- why is there a salam- is that three Jourans?"

"Isn't that great boss. The posters only talked about one. This is like, triple the pay, right?"

"No! This is the worst!" The bandit boss started to seem to go into some form of crisis, muttering to himself about only ever wanting to remain a petty thug and on the lower end of banditry hierarchy. "Ah whatever, they're already here and we're bandits so...let's kill 'em men!" With a resounding shout, the rest of the bandits cheered as they seemed ready to battle.

Leon, thoroughly confused, looked at the bandits then back to the Falcons as he said, "um, prepare for combat?" Shaking off the oddity of the situation, Leon said, "our job now is to clear the road of these bandits." As he said this, Leon looked back to Edda, who seemed to be far more primed to fight the bandits than she did awkward. Handing off an iron sword to the girl, saying, "here, use this to defend yourself with." Edda seemed  confused by the gesture, but took the blade all the same. "Alright, let's move out Falcons."

"The north. Very north."

While Rona wasn't trying to listen in, everyone had seemed to settle in to small talk, that part caught her attention. The Wyvern Rider stared at the girl for a while. Very north. Same as Rona. For all she knew she came from the city near where Rona, and her family, lived. If that was the case she had most certainly seen her father a time or two. He was a hard man to miss.

Rona took back off into the air as she felt the panic start to grip at her. She had a job to take care of. No time for these idle thoughts.

Not that scanning the empty field before them was doing much to distract her...

It wasn't until she saw the caravan that something was report-worthy. She flew down to Leon to tell him, in order to warn him to change course and avoid it. But of course Leon insisted they go in anyway.

With a grim nod Rona continued along the path, staying low to the ground as they approached, and hoped there wasn't going to be an ambush.

There was an ambush.

And once again it seemed the bandits were targeting Jourans. What was this? Was the military working with bandits now to bring them in? For what purpose? Rona's thoughts strayed again to her father. She knew he always wanted to invade this country. He thought it was weak. That their people deserved to control it. But there couldn't have been that much of an escalation since she was last there could there have been?

Either way it seemed that it was time to fight. Which was something Rona knew very well. She felt an almost calm creep over her as she took out her Steel Axe. "Suppose it's time to test this thing out!" Rona shouted before taking off.

She couldn't reach the bandits from her position but she could get near. If she swept through the right side she could get to their boss quickly and eliminate him. She flew near the edge of one of the carriages and focused her attention on the Lancer on the other side.

Spoiler

She moved 2 down, 5 to the right, and Lancer 4 is counter target.

"Huh? O-oh, yeah. The sun's not as bright as it normally is, so I don't feel like my skin is getting too much heat, haha," Ada replied. "But I would think you'd like it a bit brighter, wouldn't you?"

Oh. That went...a lot better than she was expecting. She was half-worried that the girl wouldn't want to reply at all. Except she did. So...now what? Oh yes, I should respond. "Uh-uh..." Yue mumbled, "I think, uhh, actually, I'm not a...huge fan...of the sunlight, that is," she finished lamely. Oh spirits, wait, that was a disagreement, wasn't it? So that means, oh no, I hope she doesn't think I don't like her or anything. Talking...really is difficult.

Not too far away, Layne spoke up, rescuing the archer from this awkward situation. "It's really quiet out on the roads today..." He clicked his tongue for a moment, before speaking up louder, "...Anyone know if there's been any reports of bandit activity lately? I'm... A slight bit twitchy right now."

As Leon replied, Yue started to muse over his words. Bandits. While she didn't have nearly the trouble fighting them as she did monsters, they were still trouble, trouble that she would rather not have to worry about.

Continuing to walk, the archer perked up when Rona returned and discussed something with Leon. The boy thought for a bit before finally turning to the rest of the group, "alright, there's a sign that some kind of struggle took place up ahead. Keep your wits about you since we don't know where their attackers might have gone."

At that, the girl stiffened and looked around carefully, before quietly falling back to the rear of the group and stopping briefly to string her bow, foot holding down one of the ends. Eventually they reached a fallen caravan, along with sounds of movement. Almost as soon as they saw it, bandits poured out of the vehicles, and started...a curiously funny conversation. The girl stifled a giggle before shaking her head. No, time to get serious...serious face on. After all, from the sounds of it, those bandits were after them for a reason. Because they had Jourans. The archer nodded in reply to Leon's words before nervously taking up her bow and reaching back for an arrow from her quiver.

Rona, was, of course, the first to move. "Suppose it's time to test this thing out!" the girl shouted before taking off.

That shout of confidence, for some reason, it made Yue feel more confident too. "I-I can do this." Taking a deep breath, the Yonan moved forward as well, though she wasn't nearly as fast on her feet as the wyvern rider was on the wing. Still, it was progress. Now hopefully the enemy wouldn't get too close.

Spoiler

She moved right five spaces, and there is currently nobody within range she can target for a counterattack.

"I think, uhh, actually, I'm not a...huge fan...of the sunlight, that is."

"Really? Huh, I figured someone from Yon'lou would like it more. Guess I was wrong."

Ada replied with a small laugh, feeling a bit more at ease thanks to Yue's reply. However, this ease was short lived, as bandits appeared shortly thereafter. A very loud group of bandits, with the boss complaining about there being three Jourans. The shaman cocked a brow, trying to figure out who he hadn't counted. Most likely herself, given that her robes didn't really scream shaman, so much as mage at the moment...

"Suppose it's time to test this thing out!"

And there Rona went. Again. The resignation over Rona was only matched by her surprise as Yue was one of the first ones to move out, seemingly resolved. Maybe... Rona had changed a bit, after all? Or maybe Yue just needed to see her act like that. With a smile on her face, Ada sighed and shook her head. Whatever would she do with this group?

For now, she decided the best course of action was to hang back a bit. Reaching into her pocket, she realized she till had the extra Feather Charm with her. She gently flicked her fingers over the one Raynor gave her, on her ear, before tapping Layne on the shoulder.

"Here, take this," She handed the cleric the charm, before turning to face the battlefield. "I'm gonna hang back for now, but maybe it'll give you some good luck!"

This was a slightly surprising... Something. The fact that they were being attacked by bandits? Not really surprising, so that couldn't have been it. It probably didn't have to do with the fact that the bandits were just stupid, they had seen their share of dumbass bandits in the past after all. Maybe it was cause they were confused about the animals, but not many people really would've expected the collection of what they had...

"Wait...why is there a wyver- why is there a salam- is that three Jourans?"

"Isn't that great boss. The posters only talked about one. This is like, triple the pay, right?"

No, there it was. They were just surprised about the people in their group... Why the mention about posters and pay though? Edda and Rona had been acting weird, sure, but Layne hadn't thought it would have something to do with their people... But it was definitely looking more like the case.

As much as he wanted to ask why these bandits were so worked up other the Jourans being in the group, Leon gave the order for them to prepare for combat. He grabbed the Heal Staff from his back and twirled it around as he took a quick glance around the battlefield. There were definitely more bandits than he would be comfortable dealing with than normal, but after their last mission... They could handle it.

"Alright, let's move out Falcons."

Layne watched as Rona charged forwards with her new ax, he wasn't surprised. He had started to make a move forward, but before he could... Yue of all people dashed out too. He hadn't expected her to take an aggressive charge forward like that, it was... Strange. He shook his head a tiny bit, only to flinch for a moment as he felt the tap on his shoulder. He glanced over it, a little sigh being given when he realized it was just Ada...

"Here, take this. I'm gonna hang back for now, but maybe it'll give you some good luck!"

Layne smiled, pocketing the charm himself as he mumbled, "I would rather take this slow myself, but with Rona charging in, I don't feel safe leaving her out there alone. Keep an eye on the others."

He gripped the staff in his hand as he charged forward, stopping a little bit nearby Yue as he glanced over around the field. There were a few bandits not far from where Rona was... They would probably come after her. If Yue got into trouble, he was close enough to get to her too... This was a good place to start, "Alright bandits... Let's do this!"

Spoiler

Layne moved down 1 and to the right 4.

The ride was relatively peaceful, that was until they came upon what looked like the scene of a crime. A bunch of incompetent bandits suddenly busted out of the covers. They apparently sprung the trap way too early, much to the annoyance of their boss. Their boss was angry, but that slowly changed to fear.

"Wait...why is there a wyver- why is there a salam- is that three Jourans?"

"Isn't that great boss? The posters only talked about one. This is like, triple the pay, right?"

"No! This is the worst!" The bandit boss started to mutter, causing "Ah whatever, they're already here and we're bandits so...let's kill 'em men!" With a resounding shout, the rest of the bandits cheered as they seemed ready to battle.

"Ha, you bandits need to learn how to count!" Raynor taunted. "There are actually five Jourans here!" After all, Cormag and Gojira were Jouran as well.

"Um, prepare for combat?" Shaking off the oddity of the situation, Leon said, "our job now is to clear the road of these bandits." As he said this, Leon looked back to Edda, who seemed to be far more primed to fight the bandits than she did awkward. Handing off an iron sword to the girl, saying, "here, use this to defend yourself with." With that, he gave the order. "Alright, let's move out Falcons."

Raynor turned back to Edda, giving her a thumbs up. "If you need help, feel free to stick close to me or Ada, or just yell for help. We'll get to ya ASAP," He then rode off, moving up the left side to protect their flank. It looked as if a Fighter was the closest to him, so he prepared to counter attack the bandit's attack.

OOC

Spoiler

Raynor moved to the right 3 and went up 4 spaces. Fighter 4 is his counter target.

With the group beginning to move out, Leon saw the two riders move to the side. Despite how roughed out they had come from time to time, Leon felt a bit more comfortable with them their, knowing that they would help keep whatever pincer attack these bandits had in mind at bay. Aiding them in trying to draw attention away from them as well, Leon moved through the center, also providing cover for Yue as a result. Edda, meanwhile, grumbled a bit at Raynor's comment, but with her grip tightly on her sword she began to move forward.

The enemy, meanwhile, began to move forward as well. With a lance in hand, the first of the lancers charged the wyvern rider, stabbing at her. The thick hide of Cormag proved too much for the lance to do, well, anything as it bounced off his hide with a "tink" noise. The lancer looked at his weapon saying, "ah man that's not co- ow!" Being interrupted as the steel axe of Rona was struck against the man stomach and caused him to bleed quite a lot from the attack. Staggered but not downed, the man stood ready to run to someone different to fight, as his partner came up with a sword in hand. Striking at the wyvern rider, who had been focused on the lancer, he slashed once, nicking Cormag, and then again forming a small cut on Rona herself.

Meanwhile, on the north side, Raynor had charged forward only to be met with similar resistance. However, the lancer that had charged at him was not able to fully close the distance, and so his axe wielding companion did the work instead. Providing a strong slash across both Raynor and Gojira, he too was met with a swift counter as the lance pierced the man's non axe swinging arm.

With that out of the way, the rest of the bandits started to converge save for the ones in the back. As they hung back, one sword wielding one looked to his boss saying, "hey boss. Why aren't we moving up with the rest?"

"Because...uh...a good boss leads from the back. Yeah. So, being the good boss that I am, I'm just going to wait here. And lead you all to victory and see how easy these guys will be to slaughter." The fighter looked a bit shifty eyed and nervous as he looked through his cart to see how the fight was going.

"Oh. I see." The mercenary seemed content, only to then look back to the boss. "Hey Boss. Um, we've got an issue."

"Another one!?"

"Well...two more." The boss looked more stunned. "There's uh, people who aren't us also coming towards us. From the south there's a guy with red hair who looks like he'd fuck me wife, but I can't tell if he'd do it because he's angry or just because he could. One of those kinds Boss." Confused, the boss still gestured for him to go on, with the mercenary saying, "well, from the north there's a guy...girl? There's a person on a hippocampus coming towards us."

"A what?!"

"A hippocampus, you know, the horses with wings and- oh, my bad. Pegasus. My mistake boss." Groaning, the boss lamented that this was perhaps the worst day to deviate from his usual strategy. He was simply affirmed that all the legends were true in that traps never worked for bandits.

Meanwhile, drawing out her blade, Edda was not feeling keen to just sit back and let the others do the work for her. Charging forward herself, the girl slashed at the mercenary who had seemed completely taken off guard by her sudden charge. Granted, he didn't seem to be all that bothered by it, as she had far less weight in her swing then the other Jouran Falcons.

Rona couldn't help but let out a genuine whoop of joy as the Lancer proved entirely ineffective in their attack. There was a surge of adrenaline that went through her as the Lancer was so easily stopped in his tracks. Even the nick from the Mercenary didn't put a damper to this. "Can't bring me down like that!" She taunted them as she brought her axe back down in another swing and split the Lancer's skull with the force of the blow.

She noticed Edda approach and attack the Mercenary beside her and flinched. Perhaps she hadn't looked like she had it handled and their employer felt the need to get into the fray to defend herself. It certainly made the small victory seem a bit more hollow.

"You can stay back you know; fighting is our job!"

Edda seemed somewhat annoyed by this, "I can take care of myself too." Though, compared to the sword wielders she had encountered, Rona could tell Edda was not the most practiced or skilled with her sword.

Still, there was a concern Rona held that if she annoyed her too bad then it could be bad for her. So the Wyvern Rider simply said "Just don't go too far ahead." And moved forward to face the next group of enemies. A Barbarian and Lancer that looked to be heading their way. She focused in on the Lancer again, eager for a repeat of her previous success.

The bandits talking, more like shouting, caused her to glance over the carriage while Cormag flew into position and she let out a groan as she saw.

Him. That creepy drunk pirate. Just great.

BGM

Alexis Beller looked across the field with a frown on her face. She had heard the sounds of combat and had spurred Tana into flying her here as swiftly as possible, admittedly after leaving her patrol behind, but she couldn't say she expected to see this.

Bandits fighting Jourans? What a bizarre scene indeed. There was a bounty out to capture a Jouran and here were several of them in a singular group? It didn't bode well that's for sure.

But, wait, what's that?

Alexis moved forward, near the closest carriage, and... "LEON?" She shouted. "Is that you? It's been ages since I've seen you, what in the world are you doing here, with a bunch of Jourans at that?"

While Leon had looked focused on the fight in front of him, he suddenly looks shocked and turns over to see where the voice is coming from. "Alex?!" Seeming both surprised and confused by the girl's appearance he says, "lot's happened. Fighting bandits now."

"Yes, I can see that. Well, I guess I have to clear out these rats to get an actual answer out of you. Always making me get you out of trouble even now aren't you?"

She noticed Leon was standing protectively in front of a pretty young girl holding a bow. The cogs began to turn in her head. The girl looked to be the shy sort. Quiet, polite, easily spooked. Like a deer. Usually you'd want to see that type with a strong and confident type. Someone friendly and cocky. That would break them out of their shell and be able to put them at ease while also drawing them out into the spotlight. Leon wasn't really that sort of person but it did make sense for him to pursue a girl like that. Maybe it could work? It wasn't ideal but she could certainly imagine Leon trying to court the girl. Perhaps while having to prove himself in the face of a strong rival. Like, like...like that man on the lizard over there. Yes, yes, that could work...oh and to add some more spice to it perhaps Leon and that man could find that they had some hidden fee-

Right. Bandits. Focus, Alexis, focus.

She took a deep breath and thought of her father's teachings. Diving head first into that mass of axes wouldn't do her any good. There were several sword wielders that she could easily pick off but they unfortunately were guarded by several axe users. She had to, at least, keep that Barbarian away from her for now. It was too early to get wounded.

So she would keep the carriage between them for now and focus on that Lancer. As a bonus it let her keep an eye on that Jouran at the same time.

Bringing Tana down into a dive, clutching her Steel Lance, Alexis drove the tip into the back of the Lancer who had been focused on the man in front of him. Pulling back as the Lancer tried to turn she was able to thrust once again, this time into the man's neck, slaying the bandit before he could counter. "Alright, who's next?" She muttered.

Spoiler

Surprise?

Anyway

Rona moves to the right side of the lancer and kills him, Lancer 2 next counter target. (Game wise she moved before attacking but since her movement would put her still in a spot able to attack figured it was fine)

Alexis moves to the right of Lancer 3 and kills them, suppose Fighter 4 would be the counter target.

"Really? Huh, I figured someone from Yon'lou would like it more. Guess I was wrong."

"Eheh...yes, I guess that's...a little odd...I'm sorry," Yue trailed off, looking down at the ground as she continued to walk, though soon afterward all conversation would be forgotten as they were alerted to a potential ambush nearby.

--

Yue looked around. It looked like everything was being handled at the moment. Raynor was taking on two enemies at once, however, which was worrisome. Biting her lip, the archer started to move up to help him--after all, he had proven to be...not as scary as he looked, so it was only fair that, as a teammate, she help him--when...something else, no, somebody else appeared. Two somebodies, actually, but the nearer one was the one she was more concerned about.

It was a boy--no, the voice sounded feminine. It was a girl riding a pegasus, and she seemed to know Leon. Did that mean she was friendly? Hopeful, the silver-haired archer glanced up to watch her swoop down and take down the lancer that had been attacking Raynor. Relieved, Yue turned to the nearby enemy mercenary instead. He was using a sword, and if he got anywhere near Rona with that...well, she couldn't let that happen. It was scary, and she'd probably get attacked, but she had to try to get him out of the picture.

Walking up to stand beside Leon, she offered him a meek "hello," before nocking an arrow onto her bowstring, aiming at the mercenary and letting it fly.

Spoiler

Yue moves to the space north of Leon and attacks Mercenary 6.

Well, wasn't this just dandy? A Pegasus Rider had come in. Perhaps she was part of the bandits? He was sure he could take her, he would just need to take care of this Fighter first. He never tried fighting a Pegasus before, this should be an enlightening experi---

"LEON? Is that you? It's been ages since I've seen you, what in the world are you doing here, with a bunch of Jourans at that?"

Ah, nevermind then. With that worry out of his mind, Raynor could focus on the more important things, things like... "Well, well, whaddya know? Who knew the Boss was such a charmer? You better be careful there, Boss, I don't think Rona will appreciate you just pickin' up pretty girls outta nowhere, ya know?"  He called out to Leon in a teasing voice. He then turned his attention to his job.

Spinning his lance, Raynor launched a powerful thrust at the Fighter's chest, hoping to kill him before he counterattack again.

OOC

Spoiler

Raynor attacks Fighter 4 and that's also his counter target.

There was just too much going on. At first, Layne thought that there were enemies flying in from the north, that seemed reasonable enough to assume considering that they were in the middle of a fight, who was going to fly in to help them in the middle of nowhere? At least, that's what he assumed until the flying lady suddenly screamed out Leon's name...

"Oh thank the Spirits... We aren't being flanked." He let out a relieved sigh, before glancing around at the combat at hand. Rona was holding up decently as expected, she might be a bit of a daredevil, but at least she could back it up with taking a hit. Raynor was also weathering the storm of bandits without too many scratches so far, he wasn't right as rain, but... Even if Layne wanted to get to him to heal, it would take a bit longer than he would like to get there.

On the other hand... There was a fight going down that could use a bit of a helping hand. Twirling a Heal Staff in his hand, he rushed down towards Edda and the Mercenary that she had blindsided, a grin on his face as he held the staff up. The tip of it began to shine with a bright light as he pointed it towards the defending bandit, "Showtime."

The light surrounded the bandit as he let out a little mumble, glancing around the battlefield. He didn't have much time to scan, a figure was approaching from the south now too?! He winced a little bit, "Alright, we got company coming from the south now, watch out Edda. Hopefully the light show will keep this guy a bit dazed." He really just wanted to run down and try to get a better look at who was approaching, but he couldn't afford to separate from the group. Another wave of bandits were rapidly approaching, and he needed to stay at least a bit closer to the group.

Spoiler

Layne moved down two and to the right 1, used Disrupt on the Mercenary using Heal Staff 1.

"I would rather take this slow myself, but with Rona charging in, I don't feel safe leaving her out there alone. Keep an eye on the others."

With that, Layne had run off towards Rona. It wasn't long before everyone else had left Ada in the dust as well, causing the shaman to curse herself. She should have just given the extra charm away before the fight, but she forgot that she even had it. Deciding that the best course of action was to not get herself chasing Rona again, she headed towards Leon.

Catching up as quickly as she could, Ada was just in time to hear him reply to a pegasus rider named Alex appearing on their left. She seemed to be reinforcements, so hopefully that would help... But Ada couldn't shake the feeling that she was missing something terrible coming.

"I wonder..." Ada mused aloud, a small scowl on her face, glancing around. She prepared herself for the fight, producing her tome and keeping a watchful eye over the mercenary that Yue had shot.

Ada moves right 5, designating Mercenary 6.

“I’ll kill them!”
Susano’o Kobayashi, upon waking up in a pile of dead fish to learn the Ulei Yumi was stolen.

The Iron Falcons noticed him long before he came into view. A billowing trail of dust was drifting lazily up into the sky, similar to the phenomenon caused by a cavalcade of soldiers. Those high enough on the hill (or mounted on flying beats) would, soon enough, be able to see that the commotion wasn’t caused by a herd of cavalry, but by a much more violent and destructive force; Susano’o Kobayashi, the Bloody Bull of the Three Seas, Captain of the infamous vessel Ulei Yumi.

He was covering ground quickly, his massive strides carrying him twice as far any normal man, and when he finally hard the clamor of battle over the hill he got even faster. He ground to a stop when he made it onto the top of the hill. With the sun at his back, his shadow stretched out over the battle for dozens and dozens of yards. “JEB!” His voice was gruff from a lifetime spent barking orders over the roaring storms of the sea, and he screamed the name with such power and animosity that his face turned bright red. “JEB! I FOUND YOU, YOU SON OF A WHORE! NOWHERE LEFT TO RUN!”

He yanked a massive steel axe from off his belt and set his sights on the bandit that was unlucky enough to be closest to him. Said bandit, a fellow named Joseph, grabbed the hilt of the steel sword on his hip but stumbled a few steps away. Susan hefted his axe above his head and charged toward him.

Joseph’s hands were shaking when he drew his sword. “Susan, buddy, we can--OH GODS!” He brought up his sword to parry the Bloody Bull’s axe, but when steel met steel, Susano’o’s axe won out. Joseph’s sword was knocked aside and the axe-blade carved into his shoulder, tore through his clavicle as if the bone was no tougher than butter, then came out the other side, having completely severed his right arm. Blood sprayed wildly.

Susano’o licked some it from his lips, grinned, and gnashed his bloodstained teeth. “Who’s next? Ol’ Bull’s packing enough axe for the lot of you. ESPECIALLY YOU JEB, YOU WHORESON!”

Leon was, understandably, surprised by the sudden appearance of his old acquaintance, Alexis. That she was here raised some questions and worries for him, though he was a bit relieved to see someone else helping them out with dealing with the bandits. As she made her last comment, however, he quickly retorted, "wait that's not-" the boy stopped himself and sighed as Yue made her way up to him and shot her arrow. Looking at her. he just said, "hey," back before making his way back over to the swordsman in front of him. Taking a deep breath, the boy walked forward, hitting with a mighty slash towards him with his sword, snapping the damaged  blade across him as he did. The sword wielding bandit let out a pained grunt as he was attacked, going fora swift counter of his own only to be parried by the shield of Leon. After this, however, the young mercenary looked over as he heard a familiar, loud shouting coming from the south. Upon hearing that, Leon could only mutter, "oh no."

The bandit in front of Leon had been quite confused. There he had been standing, ready to square off with the boy he had just attacked when an archer appeared out of quite literally nowhere and shot him. He was frankly baffled about how he didn't notice her before, as almost everything about her stood out, but he shook it off all the same. Though she was quite the pretty looking girl, the bandit had a job to kill things. Probably. His job was actually more likely to capture the foreigners and kill the Aeorans, but he didn't really know how the "capturing" thing worked. After all, he was a simple man and the only thing he knew how to do was swing his sword...that was it. And so he assumed that "capture" was just an advanced form of "kill" and so he did just that as he made his way around Leon and slashed at Yue, cutting deeply into the frail girl.

Leon, looking to Yue with a panicked expression as he did so, seeing the girl take quite the hefty wound. Before  he could say anything, though, the Barbarian who had been not too far away made his way towards the Falcon leader and struck at him with his axe. Being bitten into by the axe, Leon grimaced as the attack landed and turned to face the bandit. Annoyed, he shouted, "Alex, Raynor, one of you come cover for Yue."

As Rona took off after defeating the one lancer, she was soon attacked by yet another two bandits. One with a lance had charged her, stabbing against her and having equal success as the one before him. Looking down at his lance he said, "you know, you think I would've learned from last  - ooooowwwwww," was all he said as the axe came striking down against him. Wanting to help his bandit brother out, an axe wielding one came down to attack as well, striking against the girl with her attention diverted, though to not too much more success.

Joseph, in very very much pain, had a similar problem as the mercenary that had attacked Yue. He didn't really know what to do here other than swing his sword. And so, swing he did, cutting swiftly and true in spite of the fact that he was missing an arm. It in fact, miraculously didn't affect either the force or accuracy of the swing. And so, as he managed to cut into Susanoo he said, "yeah not so tough now are you -- AAaa...." was all that escaped him as he was met with a bloody counter. His lancer buddy beside him, taking a page out of the one that had attacked Rona's book, charged and tried to skewer the Bloody Bull himself. He had similar success, though this was less because Susanoo was immune to the concept of lances and more that he just missed.

Towards the back of the fighting area, one of the bandits turned to their boss and said, "hey boss, I think that guy's calling you out."

The boss, who was  now known to be Jeb, seemed to be quite scared of the prospect saying, "yes I know he is! Is your name Jeb?" As the bandit was about to respond, Jeb cut him off saying, "I didn't think so! Of all my poor, rotten luck. First I get attacked by an invasion and then I get that drunken asshole coming after me. I don't even know what he wants. All I did was tell Joseph I thought his hair was stupid but I didn't think he was that vindictive!" Sighing, he looked to his fellow bandit saying, "do you think the Bandit's Worker Association would hold it against me if I retreated?"

"Well, as you're the boss you're not allowed to retreat. In fact, we're only allowed to retreat if we steal items or you die. That's rule number 1 of banditry. So...want to be a team player boss?" The bandit's joke was quickly cut off as he saw the livid face of his boss, sighing saying, "alright I'll get ready to die."

Meanwhile, the other sword wielding bandit that had been faced off against two of the Jourans was about to follow after the wyvern rider. However, spots suddenly formed in his vision as he had a burning sensation at his side. Looking to see who did it, he saw a cleric with a, proverbially, smoking staff that had attacked him. Annoyed, though a bit hesitant to attack the cleric he instead opted to attack the Jouran in front of her. As he struck at her with his sword, the attack landed true but the blade barely seemed to cut into her. Looking at the girl as he glared at her he simply asked, "what the hell are you made of?"

Edda didn't answer, however, as she countered with her blade, slashing across the man. She then followed up, going for yet another stab, pushing the man forward as she managed to pierce his chest. Pulling her blade out, the girl let out a deep breath, and seemed oddly pumped up as she did so, looking back to Layne beaming with pride only to swiftly, with a slight hint of embarrassment look away.

Alexis shook her head as the Fighter came her way. It was always tricky to avoid getting attacked by axe wielders when you dealt with bandits. She figured it was just because most bandits were too dumb to do anything but swing a big hunk of metal around.

Thankfully she was prepared when he came for her and she had Tana rear back in time to dodge the axe swing. She went to thrust her lance at him...and it almost slipped out of her hand. She fumbled with it a bit before getting a good grip and thrusting at him. But the bandit was able to knock the long weapon to the side with the shaft of the axe.

"Tsk, so annoying." She heard Leon's call and shouted towards Raynor "I got that, take care of this goon for me mkay?" She gave Raynor a short wave as she had Tana fly over the carriage.

Where she saw a Barbarian attacking Leon and a Mercenary attacking the archer. Who she could only presume was Yue. That being said even without Leon's words she would have helped the girl out. The Mercenary was the easiest target after all. Stowing her Steel Lance away, the last attack having made her remember that accuracy was important, she bared her Iron Lance.

She swooped down on the man and, before he even could react, stabbed through his side and killed the man where he stood. "Pretty rude to attack a cute girl like that you know." Alexis said. "You alright there? Stay behind us, alright?" Alexis told Yue.

"No worries, Leon, your girlfriend is safe."

Leon, who had just gotten an axe to the side, looks baffled and looks back towards Alexis saying, "my what?"

"You know. Love of your life. Partner in crime. This pretty little flower over here is your girl right? Or if not she's totally your type ain't she? I'm not ruining your courting am I?"

"Wh-" Leon sighed again as he puts a palm to his face, "we're nothing like that. She's a friend and team member." Shaking his head he then said, "I suppose nice to see some things never change."

"Same to you. Don't worry, friend, I'm sure you'll get your chance!"

Rona was starting to grow more confident. They couldn't so much as touch her! This was amazing! She just had to keep going like this and they'd be finished with this without hassle. The faster she took them down the faster that they'd all be safe.

With an almost savage smirk on her face she brought her axe down on the Lancer again. He raised his weapon in a futile attempt to block the attack but the heavy Steel Axe cut though the shaft and into the man's skull.

There was still another Fighter nearby but... "Guess you're doing alright after all!" She called to Edda. She didn't want to risk that Fighter harming Edda further, and especially didn't want to leave and let that Barbarian gang up on her. So she pointed her axe at the Fighter. "That the best you got? Cormag and I have seen more bite from a bug!" She taunted the man in the hopes that he wouldn't go after Edda now that she was open.

She saw the Barbarian over by Leon and her concern started to leak through. She was leaving Leon open and...wait, who was that? Rona was tempted to launch Cormag forward and intercept that strange Pegasus Knight but...they seemed to be helping?

Thoughts of Aleithe, the other superior flier, went through her head and for a moment she wondered if she was going to be showed up as a rider once more.

On the other side of the carriage she heard Susanoo's shouting and shuddered. She didn't want that man anywhere near Edda, that's for sure.

Spoiler

Alexis moved above Leon, killed Merc 6, Targeted Barbarian 1 for counter

Rona killed Lancer 2 and now Fighter 1 is the target.

Raynor's lance struck true, killing his opponent. Not a moment too soon either, as Leon had an order for them. "Alex, Raynor, one of you come cover for Yue." Well, he could do that. However, it seemed he didn't have to.

"I got that, take care of this goon for me mkay?" The new girl said. Raynor nodded, he could do that. He charged ahead, gripping his lance tightly as Gojira kept the speed up, the two nearing the fighter. When they got close, Raynor took his weapon and stabbed it at the fighter. He knew that the axe was a bad match up for his lance, but if he just took him down now, it wouldn't really matter, now would it?

Yue couldn't help the sigh of disappointment she let out at seeing how...ineffective her attack was. Still, she wasn't surprised. It wasn't like she was anywhere near Rona in strength. Soon afterward, she heard a noise from the south. Glancing over, there appeared to be...a man. Something about his voice was vaguely familiar, but she wasn't sure where she had heard it. She hadn't even seen this person before. And from the sounds of it, he wasn't the kind of person she wanted to get to know anyway.

While she was distracted, the mercenary she had just shot at came forward and attacked her, the blade slicing past her clothes like butter and creating a deep wound in her side that seeped blood. Crying out in pain, the girl stumbled back, clutching her wound. This is what she got for stepping forward and trying to fight on the frontlines. But...she glanced over to where Rona was brawling, a savage smirk adorning her face. At least she's not too badly hurt...

"Alex, Raynor, one of you come cover for Yue."

The girl drooped slightly at that, her earlier relief draining away, replaced by shame. "I-I'm sorry..." she muttered.

Soon after, the pegasus knight from before swooped over, stabbing the enemy mercenary through in one thrust. As she pulled the lance back, the bandit slumped to the ground, dead where he stood. "Pretty rude to attack a cute girl like that you know." The girl, Alex, if she had heard right, said, before turning to Yue. "You alright there? Stay behind us, alright?"

"U-uh sure, th-thank you," the archer replied, a little intimidated by this strange, powerful girl. However, she froze at the next words.

"No worries, Leon, your girlfriend is safe."

"G-g-g-girlfriend?!" Yue stammered, embarrassment worsening her ability to speak. "N-n-n-no, t-t-that's not it, n-not at all." Flustered, the archer almost dropped her bow to clap her hands over her face, but remembered where she was at the last second and ducked her head instead.

"My what?"

"You know. Love of your life. Partner in crime. This pretty little flower over here is your girl right? Or if not she's totally your type ain't she? I'm not ruining your courting am I?" With every word the other spoke, Yue felt the urge to sink into the ground and never come out rise.

"Wh-," Leon facepalmed, "we're nothing like that. She's a friend and team member." Shaking his head he then said, "I suppose nice to see some things never change."

"Same to you. Don't worry, friend, I'm sure you'll get your chance!"

...I don't know if I like her, the archer thought. She was grateful to the other for coming to her aid, but immediately afterward she had embarrassed both Yue and Leon, coming to a very uncomfortable conclusion.

She did like Leon after all, but like that?

He was just, kind, and a person she respected, but...well, that kind of admiration was different from the other admiration, right?

...Or maybe it's not? I'm not sure... Wait, no, that's not the point! The girl shook her head, silver locks fluttering in front of her face as she did so. Looking up and brushing back the flyaway strands, the archer glanced around. I need to find Layne...there he is. She hobbled toward the priest, very determinedly ignoring the two behind her. If I stay there any longer, I might turn into a beet. Her steps slowed as she passed by Ada and neared the healer, her hesitation toward healing magic showing in her actions. "U-um," she murmured. "I..." she slumped, "...might need help." She glanced nervously at the fighter nearby, cringing away from him and trying to somehow blend in with the dirt road around her.

Yue moves two left and three down.

Layne flashed a quick grin to Edda before she glanced away, tossing a thumbs up in her direction, before taking a quick look around the battlefield once again. Rona had just swiftly dispatched the attacking Lancer with no trouble, at least he hoped it wasn't any trouble. If she was injured, he could tell and Edda seemed to be fine... So he turned his attention back over the field, making sure that the others were holding up... Well? At the very least, Rona and Edda were. The others were a bit too far away for him to get a good read.

And then there was another new arrival. Well, not a new one exactly... It was a 'friend'... Maybe? Maybe they'd get to sing some more shanties if all of this went well. But for the time being, there was a more urgent matter, a hobbling Yue was making her way over towards him, clearly injured, but that wasn't the surprising part.

"I..." she slumped, "...might need help."

That wasn't what he was expecting to hear. Yue wasn't the kind to ask for help, even when she needed it. His grip tightened on the staff in his hand as he shifted towards Yue, taking a few steps towards her quickly as he started to assess her wounds. He swapped out the Mend staff for the Heal one he had been using up till now, the tip of it starting to shine with that bright light once again as he gave her a little smile, "Let's get you patched up." The light surrounded her as it began to patch up the worst of her wounds, reinvigorating her slowly and steadily as he look a little glance over the grounds once again.

"Make sure the others know to fall back down here if things start going badly for them, I can't leave Rona and Edda, they're both still just charging forward. If you get hurt again, don't hesitate to retreat to me again."

He gave Yue a nod, before running off again, making his way to a better vantage point to help Rona and Edda if things got rough for them. They just couldn't have a smooth trip for once.

Spoiler

Layne moved up 1 space, healed Yue for 23 to full HP, and then used Exit Stage to move again. Down 1, to the right 1.

Ada couldn't help but smirk at Leon's banter with the newcomer, but it was short lived. Yue quickly retreated due to injuries, but seeing her get safely to Layne, Ada focused on pressing forward. The enemy hadn't seen what she was capable of yet, so maybe she could catch them off guard.

Ada opened her tome and raised her hand, murky dark energy coming from the pages of the book, chanting quietly. She stepped next to Leon and took aim at a bandit near him, firing off her Dusk spell. With a single scream, the man was devoured by the dark magic, no trace of him remaining as the girl looked to the south, dark wisps of energy flowing in the air around her.

"Alright, you think me, you, and your new friend can push forward from here, Leon?"

And so Ada's move came to a close. However, the distant sounds of an angry captain she had once known came to Ada's ears, causing her visible discomfort. Why now?

Ada moves 2 to the right, attacks and kills Barbarian 1, and then designates Fighter 1 for counter attack.

"Yeah not so tough now are you -- AAaa...." Joseph unexpectedly slumped forward and fell to his knees.  His head landed on the ground a few yards behind him and rolled to a stop at the nearby lancer’s boots, his face still twisted by a triumphant shout.

Susano’o kicked his corpse over. It rolled downhill and landed by its long lost head, leaving behind a river of blood and gore. “Still pretty tough,” he said, wiping blood from the rather nasty looking gash across his jaw. “Wouldn’t say you are though. Didn’t mama ever tell you not to lose your head?” Susan threw back his head and guffawed at his joke.

The lancer at the bottom of the hill was visibly shaking. “He… you.. He had a family!”

Susan leaned forward and scrunched up his eyes to get a better look at the bandit. “Had a family is right. Maybe don’t tell them about that stupid look he died with?” He laughed again, clapping his free hand over his stomach.

“I’ll kill you!” The bandit hoisted his lance.

The Yonan sobered instantly. A dark, stormy cloud overcame his face once more. “JUST GO AHEAD AND TRY IT, BOAT THIEF!”

The lancer started to rush up the hill but before he could, Susano’o took two steps forward and leaped up into the air. Seeing the giant of a man rocket into the sky was enough to give the bandit pause, and then, panic and blindly shove his lance at where he thought his foe would land. He missed. “What the fu--” Not because he was terribly inaccurate, but because Susano’o sailed over his head and landed behind him.

Susan pivoted on his heel and swung his axe with a thunderous, “DIE!” The sharpened edge of his steel made short work of the patchwork leather the lancer called armor. Blood sprayed and the bandit stumbled a few feet forward, swinging behind him wildly but completely missing the Yonan.

Susano’o grinned like a wildcat. “I’ll give it to Jeb--you brats are tough. Been a long time since someone could take a real shot from me,” he said, casually stomping after the lancer, who was feebly trying to get away from him. “On a normal day I might have let you get away. Too bad you f-uckers stole my boat.”

“ESPECIALLY YOU JEB!”

They came to you in a dream.
“Go!” they ordered. “Board the Swallow Tail
      And fly west.”
Decided to host something of my own. I’ve been on this site long enough that it was bound to happen eventually. This is a fantasy journey RP with a hint of mystery to it. Part of a watchdog's duty, after all, is getting to the root of an area’s problem and flushing it out, and that requires some investigation. Or you could just call upon your patron to smite the place. After all, there can’t be a problem with the town if there’s no town to begin with.
I was thinkinking three to five players, though I suppose that depends on the level of interest. Feel free to ask me any other questions you might have, and I hope you enjoy!

It had been the end in one way or another. Stabbed. Smashed. Poisoned. Burned. Shot. Though it had come in all shapes and forms the end had come to you in one way or another. And there was little waiting for you on the other side.
Simply the ever present sensation of floating. Drifting. Sinking.
You try to hear. You try to feel. You try to think. But there is little to make sense of, little to understand, and nothing that you can fully comprehend. Time presses on but you can not figure out how long this goes on for. An eternity? An instant?
As you drift in this oblivion a voice speaks to you. Perhaps you speak back to it. But you cannot decipher its words nor meaning, and thus any reply you might have made can be equally as understood. Yet, the voice continues. And it finishes. You begin moving. Rushing. Rising. And then -

The ringing of loud bells echoed throughout the ancient church, signaling that it was time to awaken to all those who had found themselves in it. Those individuals found themselves resting, sitting, in a wooden pew. The seats were all scattered about the floor, not lined up in any particular order though all facing forward. Once they opened their eyes they would be able to take note of several features of the building. One, the floor. Old, dark and wooden, same as the pews, with clumps of large, thick grass scattered about. Second the walls, shimmering as the light reflected off of the multicolored agate stone that made them up. Third, the stained glass window ahead of them.
The window ahead of them looked as if sunlight were flooding through it, shining downward into the room. And bizarrely so too did the other six windows, three on either side, in the room. Each had a blue background to it and each depicted some sort of creature or object.
To the left; a white bird with the edges of its wings shining like a prism, a gray wolf with arcs of yellow on and around it, and a purple orca with black where one would expect white.
To the right; a tree with brown trunk and green leaves, a silver gear with lines of green converging onto its center, and a black stone with cracks of red.
In the center at the head of the room it depicted a serpentine creature with antlers protruding from its head, coiled around a golden orb with a black center.
The final thing to note was there were no other rooms in this small building. And were they to look backward, they would see no door they could've entered from.
