yui 569 Posted December 25, 2019 Today is that day little kids and children at heart the world over look forward to: Christmas! Getting presents, opening em up, giving some out yourself, not to mention the food! But this isn't a thread about food. It's a thread about Christmas in general, especially the presents. How did your Christmas go? Did you give or receive any cool presents? Do anything special for the holiday? Tell us about your Christmas! For me, I was very tired for the present opening part. We all suspected the small one living here would be up at 6-6:30 and since I go to sleep anywhere between 3 and 4 in the morning, there was simply no point in me sleeping last night. Instead she got up like an hour later than we guessed she would, but overall it was a grand old time. Most of the presents I handed out were picked by my mother and simply purchased with my money, but I did make the call to get the aforementioned child a pinkie pie doll she wanted (she only told me about it some 400 times over the last three months). As for stuff I received, there's a few things. In order of how notable each gift is... A drawpad. This was the one item I asked to receive for Christmas this year, and I also helped a bit with the shopping for it. I want to become an art guy. A 20-dollar Steam gift card. I got this a night early, and used it to purchase Hollow Knight and Psychonauts, both of which were on sale. Would strongly recommend both games. A lava lamp. It's on my desk as we speak. A whole bunch of assorted candies, including four boxes of Mike & Ikes. Yum. Assorted Axe body products. I'm more of an Old Spice guy myself, but Axe products are a solid second choice, and iirc Old Spice is fairly pricey for hygenic products anyway. New slippers. New toothbrush. My old one's probably about due to be replaced. It's even green; my favorite color! Toothpaste included. Wow, that's actually quite a few things. It didn't seem like much when I had it all in my hands, but tallying it up, that's actually a lot of stuff. How bout the rest of y'all? What's NCM's Christmas haul this year? Void 6 Posted December 26, 2019 It has been a good haul this year. Took longer because someone in the family was being lazy, after complaining about us not staying up too late on Christmas Eve. But here is the primary haul. Intel i7-9700K Processor. This one was kinda weird, as I paid for 2/3rds of it myself, and ordered it myself. My parents trusted me to handle my techy purchases. It even almost never made it - DHL delayed the shipment from Taiwan and only made it to my door with a day to spare. Took me most of the day to gut out my PC and rebuild it with the 9700k, along with a new(ish) motherboard I had bought in anticipation for it. The old parts will be sold on to let me continue upgrading it - mainly an AIO cooler to replace the hazardously sharp tower cooler I have now, and maybe some 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM. £85. MONEY MONEY MONEY. Fake Gold Bullion Piggy Bank. this one was funny. I've been playing more GTA: Online with the release of the Casino Heist update. Seems appropriate someone with my vast online criminal enterprise would have a solid kilo bar of gold as a paperweight. Dunno if my parents knew, or just got lucky. I guess the latter - they don't dare go into my room. Spider-Man: Far from Home DVD. I don't get to go to the movies often, so I saved my trip this year for The Rise of Skywalker after boxing day. This makes up for missing it in cinemas. Mini USB Vacuum Cleaner. For when I eat too many Tortilla Chips over the keyboard while watching Spider-Man. Haribo. Because I've yet to contract Diabetes. Body Sprays and "Smellies". I get the picture. A surprising lack of pants and socks this year - there was a policy of "if it ain't on Amazon, your not gettin' it." due to work timetables being so tight. There was also an emotional moment: My sister burst into tears, followed shortly after by my mom and grandfather when she was gifted my late grandmother's necklace, after being cleaned up at the jewellers. I didn't have the same impact since I already knew. Parents were also pleasantly surprised when my uncle gifted my parents a £300 gift voucher to a 5-star spa and hotel. It is actually where the NATO Summit was hosted this year. One downside. Dad pissed me off and I couldn't say a word. I don't eat Turkey (makes me feel ill), so he bought me an absolute beast of prime sirloin steak... and just ruined it! He just bunged it in the oven without seasoning and turned it into a well-done, dried roast! And I had to put on a fake smile as to not ruin Christmas dinner. GRAH. *Flips table.*

Azure 72 Posted December 26, 2019 Got a decent haul this year, and still have to wait for 1 or 2 more to arrive: 2 setsof Lego Star Wars, being the Geonosian Starship and Ewok Ambush. A tin of Pokémon cards and a Magic: The Gathering deck. A pack of Kinder Beunos, some chocolate coins, and a Terry's Chocolate Orange. A Reinhardt figure, despite the fact I have never played or talked about Overwatch. A set of Love Live! Angelic Angel figures which apparently arrived in an envelope with no cushioning so the fans broke off. An Escape room game. Also brought myself a touch pad for my computer so I can attempt to draw without accidentally ruining the paper I'm using.
Blake 312 Posted December 26, 2019 I got a Snorlax plush last month, a coffee maker, and a grill.
Chaos Sonic 442 Posted December 26, 2019 I showed the guys (Yui, Rep, and Sai) my haul, but I'll share here anyway! A winter dressed (namely just wearing a beanie) Charmander plushie A Kingdom Hearts mug 2 Dress shirts (mom wanted me to keep looking good to try and get a lady) Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Spyro the Reignited Collection, and BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle $50 Playstation Gift Card Titans Season 1 and Gen:LOCK Season 1 Dvds A nice complete set of Venom Socks A Venom zip up hoodie (WITH the little hoodie mask to where you need to zip it all the way over your head) My first official pair of Converse (color is a gray set) Gear Shield necklace Iron Spider (Kill Mode) and Batman Red Death Funko Pop Turquoise Nintendo Switch Lite Pokémon Sword Yeah, it seems like a lot...but my mom and brother were trying their hardest to make sure this Christmas was great for all parties involved. Honestly, I'm extremely grateful for them and I just wish my dad was still around, cause that there would've made things even better for me.
LordCowCow 828 Posted December 26, 2019 Beef Jerky, Detective Pikachu, and a Lion King Monopoly board game. Oh, and hair clippers. And ham and so much potatoes. Not bad overall for an old man like me
Sethera 290 Posted December 26, 2019 This year's Christmas could've been better in a lot of ways but I did get the remake of Link's Awakening for Switch which I've been wanting for a while. Also the Detective Pikachu DVD as well.

Anyway, I got issues 1-7 of Soul Eater, a drone, a “Seagulls: Stop it now” shirt, a bunch of polos, and a sweet leather jacket. Christmas for me is always more exciting about what I’m getting everyone rather than what I’m getting. I got my dad one of those “I got your back” stick figure shirts, my mom the rose from Beauty and the Beast, my sister a Lego Harry Potter Hagrid’s Cottage, my grandmother(mom’s side) an Emerald City tapestry, and my grandparents on my dad’s side an Old Timers knife and a dessert serving tower. Thar 502 Posted December 29, 2019 Thar's Christmas Haul From my parents: Top Flite 13-Piece lime green golf set: Considering I was due for a new set at some point, this didn't surprise me, but I certainly wasn't expecting it. I've been using the clubs that my grandpa used before passing it down to my dad, who passed it down to me, so they were pretty old. Pretty sick, and I can't wait to try them out. Traveler's Choice navy blue hardside suitcase: No doubt due to the rough shape that my old suitcases are in and how little cargo space they each have. Hardside's nice, too. Makes for neater storage and can be rolled around standing up rather than having to lean it or set it down when not moving. Pretty solid, if you ask me. From my sisters: $50 Steam gift certificate: Can't really go wrong here, considering they usually have no idea what to give me. I already used it to pre-order Cyberpunk 2077, so I'm hype and ready. D&D 5e HeroBook: Now this is where it gets interesting. My sisters, who are, while somewhat geeky, are nowhere near as much as I am, went out of their way to go to the local tabletop store and almost cluelessly asked for D&D stuff. Not surprisingly, having seen two attractive young blondes enter their store to shop for their geeky brother, they went all out with the hospitable salesmen vibe and pitched this wonderful item with the stride of a commercial spokesman. Hell, if that wasn't enough, my sisters went and prepared their own pitch in case I didn't know what it was... and they pitched it anyway despite me knowing. It was quite adorable, and the thought alone made it special. Will be needing to find a group of people in town to play with so I can bust this baby out. 4 assorted, fully-painted D&D miniatures: As icing on the cake for that last one, I now have miniatures. I've always wanted them but never had a need for them. But now I have them, so I'm happy. From others: $50 cash and a check for $25: Understandable. It was either this or a shit-ton of shipping costs to send us actual gifts. I'm grateful either way. Thar's Stocking Zombie Repellent (jasmine) diffuser oil: Since my sister gave me a diffuser for Christmas last year, this made sense. Despite my indifference to zombies, this was a cool thought. Smells nice, too. (couldn't find a link to the product, sorry) Blackberry sage tea: One of the items that everyone got but different flavors for each. Considering my developed taste and appreciation for tea, this was nice. Sweater koozie: I assume they meant to get one for beer, cause the one I got was more for wine bottles. Regardless, it's friggin adorable. 60-second cow-shaped kitchen timer: This one is a weird one. I assume it's my mom's hint at getting me to cook more often, but when it comes to timers, I usually just use my phone and I can't stand the obnoxious bell ringing sound that this one gives off. Pretty silly, though. Toffee and sea salt 60% cocoa bar: Another one that everyone got, and also have been getting as a stuffer over the past several years. Last year I got a spicy chili bar, and the year before that I got a bacon one. They were both great, and this one I already know will be no exception. Thar's Christmas Givings Chocolate orange liqueur: This one I'm pretty proud of. Usually, my mom gets a chocolate orange for Christmas, but recently she hasn't gotten any. So I considered getting her one myself, but I knew that wasn't enough. So considering how much she loves wine, I went and did that I-dont-know-if-it-exists-but-I'll-try-anyway searches and, while it wasn't the result I was looking for, it seemed like a helluva step up. Swiveling divot repair tool with initial-engraved magnetic ball marker: My dad is pretty difficult to find gifts for, cause he usually insists I don't get him anything. So I went the customized route and got him this baby. The swiveling divot tool is spring-loaded and the marker has his initials on it, so that's about as thoughtful as I can get for such a modest gift receiver. Wine pourers in the shape of an elephant and a giraffe: My sisters are easy to shop for. One loves giraffes, one loves elephants, and they both love wine. It was kind of a no-brainer.
