At a glance, the first thing people would notice is that she has no legs. In their place expends a mass of ferrous liquid in the form of legs. Aside from this, she presents the perfect demeanor of a rebellious princess. Many could see her typically styling a glamorous dress with a stylist-grade hairdo and a rich boyfriend. On the contrary, her passion for cute things only comes across as irony for the sake of her own duality. Her preferred look depicts that of cute, loose clothing such as drabby v-necks that droop over one shoulder (if not, then it’s usually a loose hoodie), modest skirts or cargo shorts, and heavy-duty pleather boots with soles no shorter than an inch. These clothes will usually have a color scheme ranging in black or dark grey with hints of white and pink and will generally share a combination of cute and edgy themes and symbolism.

Yin was born into what seemed like a royal family with a traditional and monarchic way of life. Even though they were not actually overseeing any territories or peoples, their wealth was unmatched by many and their pride holds a strong grip on their reputation and legacy. With that, their bloodline was insisted to be perfect… until Roseanne was born. Upon realizing that their newest daughter had no legs, they kept her hidden from everyone, including themselves. Locked away and only tended to by the kind and caring nanny and servants, Yin lived most of her life in isolation.

After Yin gained her quirk, life got complicated. Even her nanny felt uncomfortable being in the same room as her. Frustrated, Yin’s emotions began to take over and took the life of her servants that got too close. This attitude caused her parents to grow even more distant. Eventually, they began to stop bringing her food and clothes, causing her to break out and get them herself. Over time she grew more and more rebellious and intentionally provocative with the way she dressed and acted when company was around.

Despite her scorn towards the people around her, however, she couldn’t stand being alone. While she may have been cut off from a social life with friends or family, she still caught wind of U.A., a school for people like her. In secret, she applied and paid her servants extra to slip them past her parents into the mail. With her only hope being accepted, that dream was crushed upon being rejected. Staying positive, she kept applying to other schools only for the same result. Beginning to think all was lost, she grew desperate and finally got accepted. However, it was the last place she expected to ever have to go; a school for at-risk heroes. Knowing they wouldn’t care anyway, Rose would at least have a life away from her deadbeat family, learn to control her risque quirk, and hopefully make a difference in the world… one way or another.

Yin is undiagnosed with what people would assume is bipolar disorder. Her mood shifts quickly and often, but usually remains within a certain threshold of morality. One one hand she is very sweet, kind, shy, and carries the demeanor of a kitten. On the other, she is the silent and menacing type that carries an unsettling aura with her that passively tells anyone near her to stay away. During such a shift in mood, her quirk has a tendency to lash out but often will follow up with an apology or a rush to the nurse. Overall, she tends to be quiet and reserved, but more than willing to help people despite her lack of interest in most things that aren't cute animals and sharp objects.

Tendril
Where Yin’s legs would’ve been had she been born with them expends a dark, jagged tendril of what appears to be something similar to ferrofluid in the way it moves. This substance can take on practically any shape as well as be hardened or softened into any state between a liquid or solid. This tendril's mass is proportionate to the amount of water in Yin's system, which constantly circulates between itself and her body. Additionally, the tendril is incredibly absorbent and can take in water through its surface. With this in mind, if the tendril becomes too large, Rose will start to suffer symptoms of overhydration as well as potentially drowning.

Mutant-type
Kohaku mutation partially gives her the physical traits of a bull. In addition, she has the ability to be virtually unstoppable with enough momentum. As her body senses any level of air resistance as a result of movement, she exhumes an aura of energy around her that acts as a barrier as well as a powerful excursion of force that respectively increases in both durability and power the faster she is moving. The main downside to this ability is that once she gains momentum, stopping herself could prove to be quite the problem if there is not enough room in front of her to do so.

Kohaku has a humanoid appearance with ram-like features. While her arms, torso, and face are mostly human, her legs and feet have goat-like qualities with lanky appendages and hooves while her forehead protrudes a pair of wrist-thick horns that curl around her cranium and twirl in a spiral shape just above her ears. Her skin has developed into an orange-brown hue with a primary fur color to match. Her level of proportions and physical fitness is rationed out equally amongst both her human and her ram segments, both of which are rather exceptional for her age.

Hasty, determined, and proud. Kohaku lives by one word and one word only: Initiative. Basically, if you know Kohaku, whatever the situation may be, you know she is always one of the first people to respond without hesitation. Be that as it may, she also has the tendency to act before thinking, often resulting in regret after too much damage has already been done. Regardless, her retrospect often motivates her to swiftly repair whatever was left broken so that she has no regrets to live with.

Backstory

Spoiler

Born in a suburban town in Japan, Kohaku grew up in a middle-class family. In a matter of speaking, if rich people were born with a golden spoon in their mouth, Kohaku was born with a nickel spoon in the cupboard for when her teeth were developed enough to handle biting down onto metal. Her parents loved her like no other, even after she had started developing her quirk. Being the progressive parents that they were, they raised Kohaku to believe she could be anything, which is precisely how she went through with her life. Whenever an opportunity presented itself that she was even remotely interested in, she took it, whatever the outcome.

This outlook in life eventually started to become a problem as her quirk manifested. Having developed the traits of a mountain ram, her ability to barge through virtually anything in her path grew more and more prominent with her tendency to run after things. Whether it be to chase after criminals as a hobby or to be on time for the latest game release, her momentum would often result in the destruction of whatever property was obstructing her path. Major or minor, the property damage kept adding up, eventually leading to a lawsuit that her family was held responsible for. After repeated offenses, even her loving and supportive family frowned upon her actions and sought to have them righted. After several applications to a number of schools in the area that taught students with quirks, only one accepted the risk of taking responsibility of such a quirk: Hairo Academy for At Risk Youth.

Naturally, being the pure-spirited person that she was, Kohaku could not have felt more humiliated by this. Nonetheless, she would get through this just like she gets through everything: through sheer willpower and dedication!

"There's a light at the end of every tunnel, I've learned. Just mind that the light isn't a train moving toward you."

Applicant Name: Yui
Character Name: Kiku "Kiburi" Gou (強菊, "キブリ")
Age: 15
Gender: Female

Appearance:

Spoiler

VL5uBrm.png

Height: 5'3"
Weight: 97 pounds
Above Kiburi's right eye is a small scar, circular in shape.

Biography:

Spoiler

Kiburi's first cohesive and most vivid memory is her mother crying. A year after her Quirk had manifested, it was believed to simply be a standard mutant-type Quirk that gave her body some upgrades, fashioned after the cockroach in her particular case. It wasn't until later that she learned the hard way that this wasn't all to her Quirk. A pheromone emitted by her body attracted cockroaches to her, and this pheromone ultimately resulted in her mother's bakery getting shut down during a health inspection Kiburi was there for. She had attended this inspection hoping to learn more about running a bakery herself, rather than destroying her only working parent's livelihood. From there, things spiraled out of control rapidly, only the least of which was a restraining order that demanded Kiburi never enter the premises of any food-based establishment coming in the mail once the nature of her Quirk was made clear.

Both of Kiburi's parents scrambled to find work to fill the financial gap she had just created. Her father went into customer service, but her mother constantly failed to find new work. Living conditions gradually slipped downward for the family, and after four years, the pressure of being the new financial pillar of the family, the stress of his job, and the added burden of an increasingly distraught wife finally got to Kiburi's father, as he made a 30-story jump down from his workplace's roof. Her widowed mother resorted to loan sharks once the two girls had hit rock bottom, hoping she'd be able to outwit them and stay one step ahead when it inevitably came time to pay back a loan she couldn't afford.

She couldn't. While not dead, Kiburi's mother wasn't quite the same by the time the loan sharks were through with her. At the end of her rope and driven by grief, she began blaming Kiburi for all the woes in their life. If this cockroach child had never been born or at least been Quirkless, the bakery would still be well and in business, Kiburi's father would have never taken his own life, and the loan sharks would have no reason to bother with either of them. Once the two girls turned on one another, tensions only rose, as if waiting for one of them to finally break. If not for her Quirk, Kiburi would have starved to death when it got to the point that her mother locked her in a room and refused to feed her for three weeks straight.

Similarly, had it not been for her Quirk, Kiburi would have died when her mother shifted from hostile to outright murderous, grabbing a gun meant only for protection and shooting its sole bullet directly at Kiburi's head, in a desperate last-ditch effort to finally be rid of the child that had destroyed everything she held dear. While this didn't kill Kiburi, it did alert the neighbors and prompt them to call the police. When they were met with Kiburi, bleeding from a bullet wound in the head, and the broken ramblings of her mother, they knew it was time to step in. Kiburi's mother was put in a mental ward, and Kiburi herself was to be given to an orphanage. Or at least, that was the plan. Thirteen at the time, the orphanage sent Kiburi back after two days, as her Quirk was scaring the other children, causing some to fall ill, and posing a serious potential health risk. So they tried another orphanage. And another. Over the next couple months, Kiburi had toured every orphanage in Okinawa that was willing to even let her through the front door, and at long last, she was truly out of places to go. And so, she was forcibly adopted by one of the officers - Arata Gou - who had responded to the call her neighbors made when they heard gunshots.

Rather than fear and revile her like everyone else had, Kiburi was treated kindly and patiently by Arata. Instead of balking at her cockroach-attracting aura, he worked with her on ways to help repel the vermin to pose less of a health risk. He taught her life skills she'd missed out on, got her signed up for a homeschooling program to avoid complications with public schools, and even re-ignited her long-gone passion for baking. For the first time in almost ten years, Kiburi was living a happy life, and the road to recovering from the damage the last decade had done to her was looking smooth and bright!

...for four months, until a lone letter came in the mail addressed to Kiburi. She had been accepted into Hairo Academy for At Risk Youth, a school she didn't even sign up for in the first place. Rejecting the offer meant being sent to jail, and when she asked Arata about the place, she learned just what it was. And more importantly, where. Because, simply put, this school wasn't in Okinawa, meaning Kiburi wouldn't be able to stay with Arata while attending. Convincing her to not just take the jail time instead wasn't an easy task.

Personality:

Spoiler

Sporting a dark sense of humor and a very weak comeback game, Kiburi is a girl who's suffered a lot, and is still fairly fresh on the road to recovery. She expects only negative things from others, and doesn't get upset when rejected, because she's spent quite a bit of time getting rejected by nearly everyone she's met. She keeps a cold emotional distance from others for this reason; they'll hate her anyway, so what's the point in trying to get chummy with others? On the flipside of this, being so used to being treated like an actual cockroach means that treating her well is like feeding a starving stray dog. She'll follow you all the way home (metaphorically), hungry for more approval and kindness. Her snarky, bitter exterior will suddenly flip around into a curious, almost joyful side once met with these sorts of people.

It's also with these people that it becomes most clear just how broken of a person Kiburi has become due to her own Quirk. With a more positive demeanor to contrast it with, it's a lot easier to see Kiburi's massive guilt complex, as well as her other problems. Even if she didn't do something, even if she knows exactly who's in the wrong, she'll blame herself for any reason she can come up with, simply because she isn't used to things not being her fault. Despite making no efforts to kill them, Kiburi also has an intense hatred of cockroaches, and includes herself among their numbers. Even with people who treat her well, Kiburi has trust issues that go straight into the territory of paranoia. While any sane person would have an aversion to guns, Kiburi goes past mere aversion and into phobia territory. Lastly, although she has no malice toward them, Kiburi can't stand heroes.

However, as stated before, Kiburi is on the road to recovery, even if she wasn't on it very long before being hauled over to Hairo. She isn't incapable of finding genuine happiness in life, even if she has some trouble expressing it sometimes. She likes baking, the sound of cicadas, and after some encouragement back home, has started taking up poetry too. She isn't afraid to show this brighter side of herself to others, but getting her to really open up to others would still be an uphill battle.

Quirk - Roachling:

Spoiler

Kiburi's is a mutant-type Quirk that provides her with a few things. The most notable of these is a brown exoskeleton present over her back, the tops of her feet, and the outside of her right arm. This exoskeleton has proven to be all but indestructible after rigorous testing on Kiburi's part, and her internal bones are very much the same. However, she also suffers a cockroach's signature weaknesses to cold temperatures and pesticides. Aside from these weaknesses, it seems that Kiburi is as hardy as an actual cockroach, to such an extent that she shares their infamous resistance to nuclear radiation and can last up to three months (estimated) without food or water.

There is, however, one other quality to Roachling, and this quality is what has caused Kiburi to be labeled as dangerous, more so than being nigh-unkillable. Her body emits a unique pheromone, not unlike the ones used by queen bees. However, instead of bees, Kiburi's pheromone attracts cockroaches, without the added benefit of commanding them. Being the vermin that they are, this makes Kiburi a health hazard on legs.

Spoiler

kbe82LO.png

Height: 5'7"
Weight: 138 pounds

Biography:

Spoiler

Born to a pair of parents who made a living researching the nature of Quirks, Toshiko developed horns and a tail shortly after birth. It was believed she had simply inherited her mother's ultimately superficial Quirk and that was that. That was before she turned blue, complained about the heat she'd been fine with just days before, and everything she touched was covered in ice. A bit of research later, and it turned out Toshiko had developed quite the Quirk for herself. Lacking both the time to homeschool her and the money to send her to a private school that could better accommodate her new traits, Toshiko's school years were challenging to say the least.

They were mostly incident-free, though. Even if it was hard not to freeze some of the other kids solid, Toshiko's parents had taken great care to teach her about just how powerful of a Quirk she had, and thus how responsible she had to be in its use. These lessons are also what inspired Toshiko to become a hero, as it seemed like the career path in which she could most use her Quirk for the good of everyone. Despite high tensions with a few children who saw it fitting to pick on Toshiko because of her Quirk, she had a pretty average schooling once one looked past the pile of ice-covered pencils and her paper assignments getting soggy after thawing out. Those high tensions are ultimately what ended in Toshiko going to Hairo instead of U.A. though.

Near the end of junior high, Toshiko finally snapped under the constant mocking. The two students who had set her off were found frozen to the shoe lockers, one with a leg and two fingers frostbitten beyond saving and the other with permanent scarring on their face and loss of vision in one eye. While Toshiko not only confessed to her actions, but even showed the school staff where her victim was, and even made frequent hospital visits while they recovered, trying everything she could to make up for it, this incident was still fresh in everyone's minds at around the time students were applying to high schools. The incident was quite the story of the week for anti-Quirk press outlets, and while Toshiko's actions weren't nearly as malicious as the media had portrayed them, the truth of the matter was still that she had attacked two students and used her Quirk to inflict injuries they'd never recover from.

As such, it's no surprise that her first choice in her dream to be a hero - the prestigious U.A. - rejected her application. While she didn't blame them, she wasn't any less shot down by it. Especially when she went through the replies in the mail, finding rejection after rejection from just about every hero school in Japan, and even a couple in Russia she'd applied to. Until finally, Toshiko saw a letter stating she'd been accepted. She has no memory of applying to Hairo Academy for At Risk Youth, nor was she particularly happy to see that not taking the acceptance meant serving jail time.

However, it was still a hero school. Toshiko chose to accept the positive in what was going on; she still got to a hero school, and even if the place seemed kind of sketchy to her, it wasn't like she had any other options. She packed her things and braced herself to take those first steps on the path to realizing her pro hero dreams.

Personality:

Spoiler

Although something of a prankster with a fondness for bickering and banter, Toshiko is a pure soul who wants nothing but good for others. She's the type to donate both time and money to charity, volunteer at a soup kitchen, and put together lovingly-made bento boxes for the homeless, all before dinner. She takes care to avoid trouble with others, preferring to dodge conflicts with diplomacy instead of win them with raw force. This lack of interest in conflicting with others has been immensely amplified in recent weeks and become a perfectly valid fear of conflict. Even if she doesn't agree with a course of action, Toshiko may well just roll over and accept it unless asked for her opinion. If she gets into a heated discussion, she will retreat from it, and she absolutely refuses to get into a physical confrontation with others.

Pushover though she may have become lately, Toshiko is a distinctly kind-hearted girl, in a stark contrast to her appearance might suggest. She wouldn't wish harm on another, and will actively do her best to help anyone she sees in need of it, regardless of if they asked or not. She's also quick to leave one to their own devices if asked, as she doesn't like to intrude on others and their privacy. She wouldn't like it if others did the same to her, so extending that courtesy is only fair to her. She doesn't have much in the way of hobbies, but will probably enjoy any activity as long as it's with others. She's a particularly extroverted and sociable sort, and combined with an optimistic worldview and the joy she feels from getting to just be a person without her Quirk being a hassle, it's hard to think of something she wouldn't enjoy trying out with some friends.

Toshiko is also quick to apologize if she feels she's wronged someone, and as of late, has a habit of trying to massively overcompensate for anything she's done.

Quirk - Cryobody:

Spoiler

Toshiko's body harbors an incredibly low internal temperature that allows her to withstand extreme cold without breaking a sweat. While this is nice in and of itself, the real meat of this Quirk involves spreading that icy cold outside of her body. Capable of rapidly chilling anything she makes contact with, Toshiko is able to freeze over anything she touches within moments of contact.

However, this Quirk cannot be switched off. Furthermore, due to her low body temperature, Toshiko struggles in even mildly warm environments.

While she does possess some demon-like traits, these are superficial and inherited from her mother's Quirk. The only practical purpose they serve is that Toshiko's horns are noted to be not only signifiantly colder than the rest of her body, but capable of freezing objects much faster.

Misc:

  • Birthday: December 21st
  • Blood type: Unidentified (mutated from Quirk)
  • Favorite food: Ice cream
  • Although she finds them uncomfortable, Toshiko often wears rubber gloves to protect others from her Quirk. Since they're a regular part of her wardrobe, she has them in all sorts of colors and patterns.
  • While her parents couldn't afford a private school for Toshiko at first, the family was in a much stronger financial state by junior high. Staying in public school was Toshiko's decision, as the Quirkless friends she had were great for helping her feel more like a normal person, and she didn't want to leave them behind. She doesn't like to bring it up, but by this point in time, they're actually rather wealthy due to patents on a few items sold to assist those whose Quirks can have negative impacts.

The Scales of Justice

Applicant Name: Mr. Hyde

Character Name: Jūryō Isobe

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Spoiler

yEdQWDN.jpg?1

Height: 5'11

Weight: 178 lbs

Backstory:

Spoiler

August 10th 20XX was a rainy summer day when Jūryō Isobe was born.  Born into poverty, Jūryō spent most of his early life switching between homeless shelters.  His parents always made sure that he was fed, going hungry themselves if need be.  After receiving a rather sketchy loan, his parents were able to afford a small apartment in the city.  His father slaved away at his job on a construction site, his quirk merely able to levitate small objects for a short time wasn't too strong, but after much dedication, he was able to lift steel beams with only slight pain in his back.  Jūryō's mother, on the other hand, couldn't get much of a job with her Quirk of getting heavier.  Instead, she stayed home to look after him.  His father wasn't the sort of man who could teach him to be brave, but he was the kind of man who gave off a strong sense of dedication and hard work.  Jūryō really aspired to be just like him.  It was all the more fitting that when his Quirk manifested, it was a slight twist on both of his parents' quirks.  He desperately wanted to become a Hero, and help his family prosper!

However, a month before his 10th birthday, some gangsters showed up to their apartment, demanding a rather large sum of money.  The look of horror in his parents' faces as they tried to flee from the situation has burned itself in Jūryō's mind ever since.  His mother became too heavy to be dragged away, opting to call for heroes.  Before she could dial anything, she was shot down in the hallway.  With panic racing through his mind, and his Dad being taken away to who knows where to pay off his debts directly, Jūryō was left alone in his apartment.  Basically orphaned at 10, Jūryō roamed the streets in search of his father.  He often ran into gangsters, which threw him into a fit of rage, and a trip to the hospital.  He wasn't allowed to use his quirk in public against those people, those were the laws of Japan, but it was too early for him to get his hero license.  In his mind, there was only one compromise.  He became a vigilante of sorts, honing his quirk and beating down low level thugs, robbing them in the process.  He was apprehended multiple times by the police, but managed to escape juvenile detention centers, whether by force or wit.

He did this so one day he might be able to take down the boss of the gang that took his father, and rid him of his debt.  But now, the Government had extended him a hand with a letter...a last ditch effort to save his soul?

Not that easily.

Personality:

Spoiler

Rather hot-headed and brash, Jūryō tends to think himself a beacon of justice.  However, his morals often tend to shine in the grayer areas.  He doesn't see himself as a criminal, even if he beats thugs into a bloody pulp, and robs them.  He believes himself to be justified, as the money is usually always dirty before hand.  What he does is clean it, is all.  He's a hypocrite, and not all that bright, but he always puts his money where his mouth is.  He's not one to run away from a challenge, but he tends to bullshit his way through most of those anyways.  He'd rather scrape by all bloodied in beaten in any circumstance than turning tail and running.  When he's not in a foul mood, one might find Jūryō doing sit ups in some grass.  He's a fan for the simple pleasures in life, and holds every moment dear.

Quirk:

Spoiler

Scales: The user can add or subtract weight from any object that he is in contact with, and add it to himself or another object that he is also in contact with.  In order for both objects to retain the weight, they must both be in contact with the user.  Objects that gain weight, and leave contact with the user, lose 5 pounds per second, returning the weight to the original object.  If the user loses contact with both objects at the same time, both objects will return to their original weight instantaneously.

Height: 5'5"

Backstory:

Miyu thinks of herself as the literal spawn of Satan himself.  Her father had a demon-esque quirk, able to light himself on fire and walk through blazing portals.  However, he was a lazy drunk with no job, even after she was born.  Miyu's mother died during childbirth, Miyu's small horns puncturing her mother's insides multiple times during the labor process.  Often times, Miyu's aunt would come to take care of the house, under the guise of abusing the little girl who had murdered her sister.  Miyu didn't understand why she did it at the time, but it was okay with her as long as she got to eat her Aunt's delicious cooking.

When Misu was 11, her Dad frantically tried to keep them, or rather himself, afloat by getting risky jobs here and there.  It seemed he had ran out of welfare money and was extremely in debt.  After one such odd job, Miyu's father came back asking her if she wanted to help.  Miyu, looking for any sort of affection she could, obliged to this.  However, this was just a part of her Dad's shady new job, recruiting young girls to be sold off to the highest bidder.  Miyu was sold off for a measly 550,000 yen.  The time she spent in slavery was more horrible than she'd like to admit.  Up until this point, Miyu had only tried to please her father and her aunt, but they had done the worst things imaginable to her.  3 years had passed, and she had been complacent, until her father showed up once more and bought her back.

He promised the girl he had changed, since moving up in the underground slave trade.  Now they could finally be a family.

In a fit of blind rage, Miyu killed her father with a chain wrapped around his neck.  She made it look like suicide, and called the police.  After an intense interrogation cycle, and prodding at her past, they found her guilty.  But a compromise was had so that she would attend the new Hairo Academy instead of serving any jail time.  Miyu laments the fact that she has to play hero now, but finds solace in the fact that she could help girls like her.

Personality:

Spoiler

Incredibly flirtatious, and bubbly, people wouldn't think twice that Miyu was the nicest person they had met.  She enjoys lots of things a typical girl would, like shopping and eating out at expensive restaurants.  She always has money on her person, and isn't afraid to help pay for a friend who couldn't afford to go out with her.  However, most of this is all merely a ploy to let down the guards of those around her that she deems as sinners, or fake.  She hates degeneracy with a passion, often bursting out into intense fits of violence whenever she encounters a black stained soul.  Once she finds a good person, it's usually pretty hard to get her detached from you.

Quirk:

Spoiler

Hell Spawn: Miyu's eyes have night and thermal vision, along with her regular eyesight.  Her eyes glow different colors depending on what vision she uses.  She has enhanced strength and durability.  Miyu is also immune to most fires, and heat.

Hell Chain: Miyu can call forth metallic chains from anywhere on her body.  They seem to be made out of carbon steel, although it seems to be a bit stronger than that.  Miyu has the ability to manipulate these chains at will, and can morph the ends of each chain to create some sort of metallic object like a cuff or spike tip.  She can also ignite these chains with an intense fire the coats every inch of every link.  However, this fire doesn't cause a burn, unless the one in contact with the flames has a guilty conscious.  The more intense the guilt, the more intense the flames.  Miyu's upper limit for how much chain can extend from her body has been 25 meters, with only one chain.

“Don't blow your top...that's my thing.”

Personal Information

Applicant Name: Chaos Sonic
Character Name: Keika Fuji (Lit. Fuji Keika, 藤 慧火)
Age: 15
Gender: Male

Appearance:

Spoiler

PAQldMs.png

Height: 5’5”
Weight: 150 lbs (Normal) | 349 lbs (If Quirk is applied over his entire body)

Depicted above is Keika's general appearance, however not shown is the various scars he's acquired due to his Quirk. While they have healed, with him being self-conscious about his scars, he tends to wear long sleeves at all times, as his arms are shown to have quite a few of these scars. On his person, he tends to carry a few bottles of moisturizer in order to apply to himself after he uses his Quirk.

Personality:

Spoiler

Keika tends to show himself in a self-conscious manner, having quite a few insecurities due to the way his parents treated him. Because of this, he has no self-confidence in anything he does, equating it all to being pointless due to his negative outlook on everything in his life. This general pessimistic behavior is practically the default of Keika, however his aunt and uncle have been doing what they can to remedy this lack of positive reinforcement, so the recovery of Keika having confidence and possibly being less self-conscious is slowly moving forward.

A young troubled teen, so that means he's got a bit of an anger problem...except his type of anger problem gets him hot under the collar...literally. He does what he can to not loose his cool, but between being treated like some sort of plague or villain just because of his Quirk and being kept tabs on by the Hero Public Safety Commission who have the air about them thinking he's just a monster, these definitely weigh on his mind a lot and mentioning something about them will definitely cause his temper and anger to flare. When that happens, it's best to get the hell out of dodge. However he refuses to let his anger get the better of him around his aunt and uncle, knowing they don't deserve to see him at that level of anger, so this is out of respect to the two of them.

He has a heavy trust issue and thus is hard to get along with. At the same time, if anyone can chip away at the stony exterior of Keika's trust issues and end up becoming friends with him, he may actually begin to open up a bit more than he ever would. But this would be an extraordinarily rare case.

Biography:

Spoiler

"Some might view their Quirk as a gift...but I still consider mine a curse."

When Keika was born, he was happy...his family was happy. For a time, they saw their son as a ray of sunshine...they were all happy. That was, until Keika's Quirk developed. When Volcano was displayed, his parents thought they had brought forth some sort of demon and monster. Of course they knew this was a Quirk, but generally Quirks were shown to help others in some sort of capacity...this one wasn't. The child became heavy due to an obsidian-granite hardened skin he could create, when he cried or got fussy, he would have magma flow and even let loose noxious volcanic gases. This began to drive the parents to hate their own child, doing what they could to stop this...physically and emotionally abusing the child and chastising him for using his Quirk, generally neglecting him. It was toiling...and it stuck with Keika for a long time.

Keika grew up basically resenting and hating his Quirk, never wanting to show it off for fear of his parents berating him yet again. Nevertheless, he ended up doing it a few times...and one time cost him everything. He showed it off to a few friends after being pressured into it, but when he returned him, he found his parents less than thrilled. Apparently one of his friends told his mom, who then in turn told Keika's parents...and the family began to have a huge argument. It devolved from an argument to a beating, to which Keika finally had enough. He got tired of being the timid child and finally used his Quirk, defending himself against his Quirkless parents. However it went too far...the brawl continued to where the parents knocked a few chunks of the granite off Keika's arms, but the lava immediately spewed on them...thus beginning to succumb to the molten lava. By accident...Keika's parents were no more. He was afraid and alone now...

The young child was taken into child protective services, as well as being scheduled for psyche evaluations. After dealing with what he had for so long, those in the protective services needed to make sure Keika was fine both physically and mentally. He would still have the scars, both mentally and physically on his arms, but he slowly began to make progress if only just a little bit. In due time the child protective services released Keika to his aunt and uncle, who were a much better pace of attitudes for the young boy. They knew that his parents were just rotten when it came to how they treated the boy and they took the time to put preventative measures in place to make sure the boy's Quirk was kept in check and did what they could to shower Keika with love. In time, Keika began to progress and recover from the torment he had been through till the current point, even stating a wish to become a hero...one to be the one to stand against the injustices...like what happened to him. But at the same time, it's something he still doesn't know he could accomplish.

Keika and his aunt and uncle were regularly checked in by not only the child protective services but representatives of the Hero Public Safety Commission. They knew the situation and what caused it, so they sent representatives to keep an eye on the potentially destructive Quirk and it's user. Keika was now under a lens by them, thusly being put in a position to resent his Quirk even more. Regardless, he figured if they could see him and see how much progress he made...maybe they'd stop holding his past over his head. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. He received the letters for his High School applications...but they weren't what he hoped for: U.A. - DENIED, Shinketsu - DENIED, Ketsbutsu - DENIED. Feeling crushed, Keika wondered if this was the end of the road for his future dreams and aspirations. That was, until he saw a forth letter: Hairo Academy for At Risk Youth - ACCEPTED. Keika had been accepted into a school for those who were deemed to be likely to become villains, which made his heart sink further...especially after reading he'd be arrested if he declined. So his options were either go to this sort of rehab school for potentially villainous youth...or just head to jail...don't pass "Go", don't collect $200. His uncle told him to try to look at the bright side, namely that it was a school that could help him work on his Quirk and possibly achieve his dream.

Only time will tell if Keika and his Quirk will finally be where they want to be...

Hero Information

Hero Name: Erupting Hero - Vulcan
Quirk:

Spoiler

Quirk Name: Volcano
Type: Transformation
This Quirk allows the user to instantly harden any part of their body (from a finger to his entire body) into a tough obsidian-granite, however, there’s more than the surface of this hardened red and black palette of armor shows. Rather than bleeding, sweating or crying, the user is able to secrete large amounts of magma. This Quirk allows some flexibility in what the user can do, from coating magma on his granite to keep opponents from striking, hardening his fingers into sharp claw-like points for strikes, coughing up noxious volcanic gas to use against an opponent, to even spraying large amounts of magma from a focused location (i.e. from the fingertip, like a gun or such).

Unfortunately, like all Quirks, it has its drawbacks. The Quirk dries up the skin of the user considerably which can cause serious damage to the skin if not properly hydrated and apply moisturizer immediately after using it. However, it doesn’t stop there. If the user reverts immediately after, the skin won’t have any permanent damage to it. But if they don’t and push further, this will result in his granite cracking further and making it akin to having their flesh cut into, thusly producing flesh wounds and scarring. If the user secretes too much magma in a short period of time, this will leave the user light-headed and dizzy, which would result in vomiting (and it might make it worse due to it possibly being lava as well).

Hero Costume:

Spoiler

Hasn’t decided on a concrete idea for the outfit, but knows it needs to account for his granite skin and magma...maybe even add a way to get some moisturizer on the skin immediately after usage of the Quirk.

Miscellaneous Information

Keika’s Theme (Alternative) | Battle Theme        (Alternative)

  • Keika’s name means the following: Keika - With the combination of 慧火, this translates to “wise fire”. Fuji - Translates into the following: “wisteria”.
  • The surname of Fuji, wasn't an outright reference to Mt. Fuji, the volcano in Japan, but it's a nice little reference nonetheless.
  • The Hero Name that he decided on is based on the Roman myth, Vulcan, who was the god of fire, volcanoes, deserts, metalworking and the forge. This would be the Roman equivalent of the Greek deity: Hephaestus.
    • Side Note: Hephaestus was considered for the name, but at the same time, I figured that would have possibly gone with the fact that he could’ve also used some sort of manner of weapon creating out of thin air.
  • The Quirk, Volcano, came about from me looking through the MHA Quirk list and figuring out what Quirks could possibly spark inspiration. This came forth after looking at Explosion and then Hellflame, before glancing at Harden. Thus the gears began to turn and Volcano was born.
  • Keika would be the first MHA RP character I've made that has outright disliked his Quirk. The first character to display this was from "MHA: Max Omega", Ichiro Adachi - Herculean Hero: Atlas.

Mako Mania

Spoiler

Brave the Ocean
Blood Drain -Again-

BrQlXWt.png

"There's always a bigger fish or something, ya know?"

Applicant Name: Doggo

Character Name: Nanami Hamasaki

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Spoiler

UnVW81U.png

Height: 5'8"/172 cm
Weight: 160 lbs/72.5 kg

Shown in picture will be her "hero" costume I guess we'll say. Would normally wear uniforms or more normal casual clothes of course. But otherwise it's pretty accurate.

Biography:

Spoiler

Nanami was born to a single mother. Her boyfriend at the time had a mild shark mutation quirk, one that manifested much more powerfully in his future daughter. But the relationship was never exactly healthy, and the two split pretty much immediately when the pregnancy was confirmed. Still, Nanami's mother was determined to have her and raise her on her own, even when she was born with mutations showing already. It only got more pronounced until the age of four, where one might expect the average quirk to manifest. At that point the mutation stopped advancing and settled into the look the girl bears today.

It was somewhat difficult for her mother to provide both financially and emotionally for her daughter on her own. Things seemed to be looking up for a time when Nanami was six years old and her father attempted to step back into the family's life. It eased the burdens on the girl's mother and some of Nanami's happiest memories come from the first few months of her father's return. But things quickly soured as all the problems of the relationship reared their head, only uglier this time. Abuse settled in, physical from man to woman, and, as a coping mechanism, verbal and emotional from mother to daughter.

This time of her life set in a deep self hatred, or at least of her quirk. Her mother would love her more if she looked like a normal girl. But her father had given her this body and so she hated him for it. Things carried on in this poor state until the girl was eight. One night it happened, she finally snapped for the first time. Her father was particularly violent and had cut himself on glass he'd dropped. Just as Nanami's mother cried out in fear of the coming beating, Nanami entered her first blood frenzy and viciously attacked her father and ultimately hospitalizing him.

It was a long mess to settle with the police as to everything that had been happening. But eventually everything came out. Everything. Abuse towards all parties, and Nanami's attack of her father. The girl wouldn't be punished but she was going to be watched closely for some time. Father and mother separated once more and social workers were often in the home to ensure Nanami was no longer suffering abuse at the hands of her mother for the next few years to make sure they were safe to stay together. While inconvenient, the two found some form of happiness with each other again.

But Nanami had a taste for blood now. As she grew into her preteen years she began getting into fights more and more often at school. She had no great explanations for anyone, her increasingly frustrated mother included. But she didn't much care. People were annoying her and she was putting them in their place. That was all that mattered to her. She became more and more disobedient, getting into trouble more and more often. Nothing exactly criminal but definitely enough to reignite trouble at home with her mother. It culminated in the getting the tattoo she bears on her right shoulder to this day without her mother knowing. That landed a sharp slap to the face and many long and bitter arguments.

And she had at least one good friend so it didn't matter if many other people didn't like her. But then, even that wouldn't last. Her friend also had a quirk, though nothing quite so visibly pronounced. The two joked with each other about attending UA for high school and often made fun of the professional heroes. But the more they talked, the more it became an actual desire. When the time came, both applied. And perhaps unsurprisingly with her history of attacking her father and consistent fights in school, Nanami was rejected while her friend was accepted. This created a sharp divide. So sharp in fact it came to blows, her friend getting hurt first. With her anger already incited and now fresh blood on her nose, Nanami ruthlessly attacked her friend in another blood frenzy. Her friend was seriously injured and the girl was put on house arrest.

Before any legal proceedings could continue, Nanami was given a choice. Be thrown in jail and spend her life locked up so she won't kill anyone or attend Hairo Academy. With the mutual dream of her and her friend of being pro heroes dashed in the vicious act, Nanami felt compelled to accept the Academy offer. If there was some hope of her controlling herself and maybe even being a hero for the both of them, well she'd grasp onto it. Even if her friend never spoke to her again, even if everyone told her no, she'd manage it somehow. So long as her patience can last.

Personality:

Spoiler

Nanami excels at giving the impression she always knows what to do. Her confidence is strong and ever present. This straddles a dangerous line between reasonable, justified confidence, and baseless overconfidence. Which way she'll ultimately swing to depends on how other people act around her. If others fall in line and defer to her it can bloat her ego and get wilder claims out of her. If challenged, she'll dig in a bit more and try to see if she really has it all figured out like she thinks she does.

The girl is not as easy to immediately anger as one might think a shark girl would be, but wear on her nerves enough and you might live to regret it. Indecisiveness is a major pet peeve and will infuriate her more than blatant rudeness or insults. There's something to respect in someone calling her out directly rather than beating around the bush. Nothing quite tries her patience like waiting on someone to make up their mind. Of course this means she often partakes in and encourages rash decisions in others. And when it comes down to it, a good old fist fight might just be the easiest way to make annoying people go away.

Things are pretty matter of fact with Nanami. She dislikes long, convoluted narratives or explanations, preferring simple explanations as comforting mental shortcuts. Dwelling on things means introspection, and if there's one thing she tries to avoid it's looking inward at herself. Her advice to others and herself is just move on and do something and occupy yourself. In line with this, some of her favorite times are calm moments of music, movies or games and plenty of snacks.

The girl naturally tends to push against strict rules and guidelines unless she's personally seen the common sense of the idea. Expect some fairly foul mouthed retorts if you can't produce a good reason. Along with this she lives pretty impulsively and does things that feel or sound good at the time. Go along with it and you'll have a pretty good time.

Quirk:

Spoiler

Shark - Gives the user the qualities and abilities of various shark species. How mutated the user is determines how powerful the effects are. Changes/abilities include:

-Enhanced strength and speed, especially in water. Can't exactly breathe under water but can hold breath way longer than normal.
-Bioluminescence; capable of causing skin to glow a soft green color, helpful in the dark but not noticeable in broad daylight.
-Greatly enhanced sense of smell, is what leads to problems with this quirk.
-Enhanced night vision.
-Quicker natural healing
-Electromagnetic senses, allows user to track people and animals even without sight or scent based on the electromagnetic fields all life naturally emits.

The particularly problematic portion of the quirk comes with the sense of smell. The affected human will be prone to feeding frenzies like in actual sharks. The scent of blood will send them into a rage until they've had a bite of what's bleeding or have been restrained long enough. Reactions are less intense on land than in water. Additionally, the blood of animals elicits less reaction than that of humans, and non quirk humans create less reaction than those with quirks. In short, animal blood on land may be a very subtle reaction, where quirk blood in water will cause the user to lose all sense of self and look only to feed.

Applicant Name: ChampionZero

Character Name: Kujaku Maho, aka Akuma
Age: 15
Gender: Male

[Appearance]

Akuma, due to his father's genetics, stands 6 feet clear and weighs 180 pounds at only age 15. With defined features, pale skin and wild black hair that often gets in his bright blue eyes, he's the spitting image of his father, despite still being clearly half-Japanese. He's in excellent shape for his age, the kind acquired through regular exercise. As far as attire goes, Akuma trends toward the stereotypically delinquent, wearing his uniform in deliberate disarray, and casual clothes that mark him out as trouble-- combat pants, boots, a sarashi under his shirt, etc.

[Quirk: Tentacles]

He can extrude prehensile tentacles from any exposed skin on his body. he has some control over their shape and size, and they can connect, combine, and separate at will. They're boneless, but have incredible tensile strength, enough to break concrete and lift human beings with ease.

[Personality]

Akuma's personality is, on its surface, exactly as his reputation suggests: that of a delinquent bully and a shameless pervert. He's confident, informal and even friendly at first blush, but when tested or aggravated, his more violent side comes out to play-- and it is far from friendly. He fights dirty but follows his own code, the exact parameters of which are all but inscrutable to an outsider. He has little regard for personal space and loves to make physical contact with people.

[Biography]

Initially, Kujaku Maho was born to a single mother, and raised for most of his life as best as she could. Nonetheless, Maho developed no actual social skills, preferring to read manga, watch anime, and play video games. This lead to him being something of a recluse during elementary school. Between school years, Maho's mother committed suicide.

When his father found out about his existence and his mother's death, he took him in at the age of 10. Having been absent for most of his childhood, he was determined to give his son a path to follow, a strong father figure, and a fresh start. His father taught him how to fight, how to speak English, and even rechristened him "Akuma," a nickname based on the way his name translated to English letters. This ended up becoming his preferred moniker in junior high-- where he went from a four-foot runt to a six-foot goliath delinquent over the course of summer vacation. His newfound confidence and strength made him a menace among his peers, established his reputation in the area, and made him a target for the program.

Given his alternative, Akuma "chose" to attend Hairo, and resents the program utterly-- but thinks it might be the perfect opportunity to build a gang of his own.

Hungry Boy

Spoiler

"Ahh, the hunger grows again... No, seriously, it's almost lunchtime. Let's go grab something."

Applicant Name: Arkars

Character Name: Midome Doro

Age: 15

Gender: male

Appearance:

Spoiler

9aa2e22c414044105f3a8952671cabea.jpg

The young Doro in all his amorphous glory!

Er, I mean this one:

Spoiler

4zf3hyx_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&f

Basically this, the skin possibly even more pale.

Height: 168 cm (about 5'3''), it's his "natural" height, and the one he's most comfortable with.

Weight: 69 kg (about 150 lbs) normally, can change if he eats something heavy

Above is the "usal" appearance Midome walks around with. He can absorb the polymer that works as his skin to allow his shapeshifting, in witch case the general aspect remains the same, but the revealed flesh appears as translucid white, wiht the shapes of his organs partially visible underneath.

He likes to keep his hair long.

Backstory:

Spoiler

Hunger. Since his quirk fist started to manifest, that had been a costant in Midome's life.
At first it didn't seem anything patricular. The doctors suggested that the kid was using up a lot of energy as his body changed, and while not ritch, his parents were more than happy to change the size of his meals to something that would have been more appropriate for an adult. Then the size doubled. Then tripled. Then two more meals during the day were added, and his parents started to worry, as their child ate and ate, consuming food adequate for a family three of four times more numerous than theirs, all while still feeling hungry shortly after every meal.
Even the rest of his life began to be affected, as his grades dropped when not even bringing a considerable amount of food from home wasn't enough to fully satiate him.

One day, his moter went to wake him up, and a scream woke up the whole house as she found him, still asleep, chewing on what once was the wooded leg of his bed. The matress had a gaping hole in it, and the blankets were nowhere to be seen, and yet the kid seemed to be perfectly healthy, no trace of the destroyed bed in him even after a caothic run to the hospital.

Things came a breaking point when, while playing with his classmates, Midome had an quarrel with one of them over who was to start on the bench for that game. As the friend tried to push him, instead of Midome ending on the ground, the other kid was suddenly sucked in through Midome's chest. The kid found himself incapable of pulling out his arms, and was instead being absorbed through the skin alongside Mididome's shirt.

The other kids panicked and called the adults, while the two desperately tried, to no avail, to separate each other, until a nearby hero who had heard the screams arrived on the scene and managed to to separate them before the face of the other kid could be absorbed too, revealing nasty acid burns on the kid's arms.

After several medical checks, it was established that the now fully-developed quirk had transformed Midome's body in a beimg similar to an ameba, and that it had natually tried to perform phagocytosis on the other kid. After the event, hardly anyone wanted to play with Midome, while he became more and more of a shut-in due the the various detrimental aspects of his quirk that were being discovered as the mutation stabilized. Even after he finally entered midschool, his parents warned him to not ever, for any reason, touch someone else or get into a fistfight.
The first he tried to uphold, the second... well, someone had apparently leaked what had happened when he was young, and there were those who really wanted to see this "man-eating quirk" in action.

Midome carried on, the irritation building up alongside the increasing worries of his parents about the cost of the food, since Midome now ate several courses per meal without managing to feel trurily satisfied. He even tried to apply for several hero courses. After all, he thought, that was his best chance of finding something to help him with the control of his quirk.

Heck, during that time his parents even managed to have a doctor specialized in quirks prescribe him a special dietary supplement to help him with his hunger issues, and gained enough control to revert an accidental phagocitosis by himself.

Then, one day, nearing the end of his last year, after overhearing his parents talking about the looming possibility of having to give him to some structure or institute capable of sustaining his eating habits, he finally snapped at the umpteenth provocation.

Shortly after he found himself suspended, and returned to school just in time to recieve a full rejection on all the applications he sent.

All, except one he didn't really remember to have applied for, but hey, an hero school is an hero school, right?

Personality:

Spoiler

Apparently confident and hard-working on the surface, if you ask him why he wants to become a hero (besides the obvious "not going to jail"), he'll tell you that he wants to overcome the natural tendecy of his quirk to hurt people and become someone whose presence inspires safety instead of fear. That he regrets what happened due to his lack of control, and wants to make sure nobody gets hurt by him again.
While not entirely untrue, the truth is... far less noble. He surely wants to better control his quirk ad avoid randomly hurting people, but the main reason he wants to get a license, as well as being part of an hero course, is for the benefits that it would bring him personally.
He could train his quirk, freely or with guidance, more easily get special support for it due to his status and ensure himself a job capable of sustaining his lifestyle and get him enough money, and thus food, to dull his hunger.
This is something that he feels had always been true, but he came to realize it only after finding himself obliged to go to a hero school for individuals deemed to be potential villans... and found himself happy and satisfed with it.

He'll put up a facade of the joking person who strives to push past himself, because otherwise what is really he, beside a walking hazard with hunger issues?
It just makes things easier if he defuses the issues of being a sentient stomach by seemingly giving it no more weigth than another challenge to overcome, rather than bring attention to it alongside the fact that he really doesn't have any noble heroic drive.

Inside, he just wants to be able to enjoy time with someone else again. He felt lonely for a long time, and if it can make people feel more at ease around him, he'll keep up the play for as long as necessary.

Quirk: Amoeba

Spoiler

A mutant-type quirk that modified Midome's biology, making it similar to that of an Unicellular organism. A web-like cytoskeleton of microtubules instead of the skeleton, oversized and modified cell organelles replaced most organs, like mitochondria instead of lungs, the golgi apparate instead of the liver, the nucleous instead of the brain and so on, all contained in the translucid goo of his body, which continupusly secretes a powerful acid capable of digesting nearly anything in due time, organic or inorganic.

He possess several abilities derived from his biology, though he wasn't able to develop them very well, such as:

  • Shapeshifting: controlling his internal structure through the cytoskeleton and moving it around, Midome can feely shapeshift his body mass as he plases. However, abandoning a humanoid form makes him progressively confused and nauseous, and more complex changes require time and preparation to shape the microtubules and move the organs around.
  • Regeneration: While not very quick, the cytoskeleton and the amorphous nature of Midome's body make possible for him to potentially control, close and heal nearly any damage, even if his membranes get ruptured and his internal cytoplasm is leaking out of the openings. Damage to the organelles is harder to heal, and the damamage to nucleous is almost impssible to fix.
  • Phagocytosis: the normal "feeding" mechanism for an amoeba, consisting in enveloping the target in a phagosome to digest it, that Midome can replicate. In time, he managed to get a better control over it, becoming capable of releasing things partially or totally enveloped at will, use his membranes to protect what he absorbs from his acid, or increase it's secretion for a more aggresive attack on the target. However, living beings that come into contact with Midome's skin still tend to be naturally swallowed.

Also, his metabolism is incredibly quick and efficent at ingesting, digesting, stockpiling nutrients and excrete the waste, which while providing various advantages, is also the source of his constant hunger, as he always feels empty, even when eating more would only cause him to passively expel the excess of stockpiled nutrients.

Another thing Midome has to be mindful of is his bodily water balance, as excessive heat can literally dry him up, while excessive contact with water without the possibility to expel it could fill him until he explodes.
Understandably, he's not a fan of baths.

Misc:

  • His "skin" is actually an edible (well, for him) polypeptide methabolized by his body. The base substance to synthetize it comes from his bottle of integrators that he always carries around, and he can produce a new "layer" very quickly. Without it, his translucid flesh with the organelles inside behid the skin becomes visible.
  • Said integrators also include small amounts of salts to help with his saline balance and a medical prescription to dull his constant hunger.
  • He prefers showers.

The Not-so-child Prodigy

Spoiler

"Do you want to hear a plant fact?"

Applicant Name: Otaku-sama

Character Name: Yu Minami (Minami Yu, 南優)

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Spoiler

0187a6a1df47d3df2baaba8dc6ed57ebb41dbc80

5’ 9”, wiry build, 145lbs. Yu is rarely ever seen without his teddy bear, which can be often seen following him around on foot.

Backstory:

Spoiler

Yu has been a ward of the state as long as he could remember. He had heard he was raised by his parents while he was very young. However, as his Quirk began to manifest in destructive ways, the government sprung into action to prevent more danger to the public. Ever since that fateful day, Yu grew up in a tightly controlled government facility in an undisclosed location in the Izu Island chain.

Yu’s tender years were mostly spent under varying levels of sedation, necessary to help him moderate his emotions without normal parental support, thus keeping his Quirk at manageable levels. Even with this chemical assistance, his minders still found his Quirk too difficult to contain when outside of his specially designed holding room. This resulted in Yu spending most of his childhood within the confines of those stainless steel walls. Despite these handicaps, Yu proved to be a precocious child when it came to academics, reading by himself by the age of 3 and having mastered the rudiments of arithmetic by age 5. His curiosity was boundless and his minders could not help but become attached to him.

One minder in particular, Tsukuda Akari, became the primary researcher of Yu’s particular Quirk and served as somewhat of a mother figure for Yu. It was Akari who ensured that Yu was provided with the endless stacks of books to sate his hunger for knowledge, as well as giving Yu the teddy bear that became his inseparable companion.

As Yu matured to his teens, Akari noticed that his Quirk slowly started to lose its unpredictability, so much so that experiments on Yu could safely resume. It was in these later experiments that showed a clear link between Yu’s emotions and the state of his Quirk, which he called his “guardian angel” after a character in a childhood book. These experiments also showed how his Quirk could spiral out of control if Yu became too distressed to control the angel.

Upon seeing these results, the head of the project repeatedly advocated for Yu to be permanently sedated until his Quirk could be better controlled. However, Akari worked feverishly to rebuff every attempt to do so using everything at her disposal, including falsifying research documentation. During this period, Akari was also trying to teach Yu how to better moderate his emotions without the help of sedatives, teaching him Zen Buddhist meditation in addition to other behavioral therapies. Unfortunately, by the time Yu was 15, this uneasy peace ended.

Evidence of Akari’s wholesale falsification of her research came to light, causing her to be immediately terminated and sent to federal prison. The loss of the project’s head researcher was too much for the team to bear, causing the Japanese government to cancel it completely and shut down the facility, leaving Yu’s fate in a state of limbo. The government decided that Yu would be enrolled in the Hairo Academy for At Risk Youth, giving him one last chance to control his Quirk before he too was terminated.

Personality:

Spoiler

Curious and naive on the surface, Yu is the quintessential cloistered scholar. While he does not actively attempt to show off his intelligence, a short conversation with him quickly reveals that he is knowledgeable beyond his years, especially in botany, his chosen field of interest. When out of his field of expertise, he is an excellent student, always eager to learn from anyone he perceives as an expert. This attraction to opportunities to learn tends to make him easily swayed and led astray by strong personalities.

Despite what his upbringing might suggest, Yu is quite social, eager to meet new people in comfortable environments. However, he is prone to isolating himself whenever he starts to feel anything slightly uncomfortable, fearing that the emotion will cause his Quirk to activate and start causing harm to everyone around him. He also chants the Buddhist mantra “namu myōhō renge kyō” whenever he starts to feel any negative emotion. While this appears to help him moderate his emotions and his Quirk, it can often confuse and alienate the people he might be in the middle of a conversation with.

Yu can also come off as childish for his age, the teddy bear he carries around with him at all times being the most obvious sign of his arrested development. He is prone to flights of fancy, often impulse buying whatever happens to interest him at any given moment, which is usually a new book or houseplant to add to his collection. This habit of impulse buying is exacerbated by the lack of a controlling parental figure and his government sponsorship, which provides him with a near bottomless amount of funds to allow him to live on his own.

Quirk: Guardian Angel

Spoiler

While Yu is conscious, a strange energy manifests itself near him. The energy is able to “possess” nearby objects, causing them to float and fly about with varying levels of strength and speed. This manifestation, dubbed by Yu as his “angel”, appears to be somewhat autonomous from Yu, acting independently from Yu when it does not receive direct commands from him. Yu is able to sense what the manifestation could sense as if it were a living creature. This includes sight, hearing, and most troublingly, pain. While these projected senses could theoretically span infinitely great distances, the angel rarely strays far from Yu and becomes active when it is away from him for too long. The angel has two states: passive and active.

While the angel is passive, it possesses the nearest object and does not attempt to expand its influence over other objects. It prefers to possess stuffed animals while in this state, especially the teddy bear that Yu normally carries around with him. However, it appears to be able to possess objects as large as 16 m³. While it is in this state, Yu has a strong control over the angel, with it acting in accordance with Yu’s general benefit when it does not receive specific commands. However, while in this state, the angel’s strength is limited in power, approximating the strength and speed of an Olympian athlete. Its strength does not change with the size of its possessed object.

The angel enters its active state in response to Yu’s emotional state. When Yu is in pain or some form of distress, the angel begins to possess more objects, which form around its original object into a humanoid golem. In this state, the angel gains more strength and speed geometrically as Yu becomes more distressed, growing larger as it gains power and adds more objects into its body. However, Yu is unable to exert as much control over the angel’s actions, causing it to become prone to fits of berserk rage that cause wanton destruction. This can cause a positive feedback loop, as the angel becomes less capable of properly protecting Yu in this state, possibly causing more distress to Yu as it destroys its surroundings.

The angel has one notable weakness that allowed Yu’s Quirk to be safely contained before being inducted into the Hairo program. The angel is unable to possess any object that contains or is under the effects of any kind of flowing electricity. The angel is also repulsed by strong electrical fields generated by high-amp currents, such as those found around transformer stations or short-range power lines. It appears that the angel slowly loses this weakness as it grows in power in its active state, but it is unclear if this is a matter of it overcoming its weakness under an unknown mechanism or if it is simply a matter of it being more capable of destroying sources of electrical currents. The angel appears to immediately revert to its passive state if Yu is unconscious, but it is unclear whether this is the case when the angel is highly active and independent.

Misc:

  • Spoiler
    • Yu lives under close government surveillance, but is mostly left to his own devices by those assigned to keep track of him. Despite knowing the consequences of failing the Hairo program, Yu appears to have already made peace with this.
    • Yu lives alone in an apartment filled with hundreds of houseplants. He can name the species of every single one.

Was waiting on seeing the cast to see if my idea would work. Seems it will.

[Joker's Wild]
Character Name: listed as "Soitsu"
Age: listed as being 15 years old
Gender: male
[Appearance]

E7OKZbt.jpg

Height: 5'7"
Weight: 133 lbs

[Backstory]

Soitsu was unknown to the government until he was (allegedly) 8 years old, at which point he had no known family. He was found living in the street on his own. Despite this obviously dangerous living situation, things seemed to be going alright for him, and he even had some money for himself. He claimed to have gotten it as a street performer, but a more accurate description would be "hustler". After he was placed in a local orphanage, he was given the standard quirk examination most would have received when they were younger. In it, he successfully flipped a coin and had it land on heads 100 consecutive times, followed by tails another 39 times. At this point the examiner stopped him and told him to predict the next flip. With a simple "I don't know how to tell the future" he flipped the coin and it landed perfectly on its edge, balanced between heads and tails. It was quickly determined that his quirk was luck manipulation, and seemed to be involuntary.

-7 years later-

Soitsu woke up in a cold metal chair, with a pair of leather restraints around his wrists. He blinked a few times as his eyes adjusted to his environment, doing his best to ignore the full ache in the back of his head, the heat surrounding it indicating a heavy bruise forming. In front of him stood a burly man in a suit, picking through the contents of a small briefcase before delicately, almost too much so for one of his size, pulling out a pair of pliers. Even in the dim light from the cloudy, uncovered bulb hanging from the ceiling, Soitsu could see that the tool was stained with blood.

"Ah, so you woke up." The apparent torturer had a voice that was too polite for his profession. "You stole from the wrong people." Those 'wrong people,' as far as Soitsu could guess, were some or other quirkless gang. While the world had people that could lift a car without thinking twice and used that power to get whatever they wanted, those left without gifts in the crime world ended up banding together, making up for lack of individual strength with organization and sheer numbers. "You're going to die today, just so you know, but before that happens you'll tell us where the money is, in exchange for a bit less pain."

Clearly, Soitsu was dealing with someone incredibly reasonable. "Listen," the boy said with a slow start, "I didn't steal anything. I'm sure I won more in your games than you'd like, but that was all by luck." Soitsu had talked his way out of plenty of sticky situations, but even as he tried now he had the sense that this wasn't going to be quite so easy.

"Luck isn't a good excuse when it's your quirk," the man paused, gauging Soitsu's reaction to his words, "it wasn't too hard to figure out who you are, and what your MO is. Our connections stretch much further than you realize." With a pop of his neck, he brandished the pair of pliers, making his violent intent more than clear. "I'm sure you'll talk, but first you deserve some suffering for trying to weasel your way out of this." He took a step forward, and promptly fell forward, toward Soitsu. Without his knowledge his shoelaces had somehow ended up tangled together. With a loud CRACK, his face hit the chair's armrest, right beside his would-be victim's hand, before he fell the rest of the way down to the floor, lying motionless.

"Holy shit! I hope that was on video, that's fucking hilarious!" Soitsu stood up, lifting his hands out of the bindings that were inexplicably left unfastened, before hunching over and laughing hysterically to himself. Gingerly stepping around the man who had planned to kill him, he worked his way out of the torture chamber and out into a much more docile-looking hallway. "Now, which way to go…" he looked back and forth, shrugging lazily, "guess I'll try my luck." Without spending any more time to consider his options, he strode down the hallway toward his right, casually glancing into each room he passed.

One room in particular had a safe in the back, and he decided that was definitely worth looking into. He approached it and after staring for a few seconds, he simply tried the handle. As luck would have it, it was unlocked. With a smile, he took out a few wads of cash and shoved them into his pockets. Considering the circumstances of how he ended up in this place, things were going quite well. Of course, as he turned around, he saw that the room had been filled with about half a dozen of the mobsters, each with a gun pointed directly at him.

Leaning back against the safe, Soitsu casually slammed it shut, spinning the wheel to lock it. "Hey guys! I was just taking a self-guided tour of your fort. Where are the monkey bars, again?" His laughter was drowned out by the sounds of gunfire as the group all let loose at Soitsu, who covered his ears with his hands as he wasn't in the mood for hearing damage today. After the firing stopped, Soitsu turned around to see the wall riddled with bullet holes, tracing the silhouette of his center of mass as every single one inexplicably missed. "Wow, that's actually pretty impressive! To think you guys shot around randomly without even aiming, and you STILL didn't hit me with a single shot!"

This last remark must have been too much for one of the thugs, who pulled a second handgun out of his waistband and walked straight up to Soitsu. By the time he turned back toward the entourage, Soitsu found himself with a muzzle against his forehead. "You're really that unskilled that you have to get this close to line up a shot? What makes you think it will work this time?" The thug's face twisted into a snarl of rage, as he pulled the trigger to silence this stupid child.

No matter how many times he pulled the trigger, the pistol simply refused to fire. Soitsu tilted his head to the side, looking around the attacker's hand into his eyes, "Hey dumbass, you don't even have a mag in." With confusion, the man quickly turned the gun in his hand to check Soitsu's claim, but in the frustration of the moment fumbled his pistol and dropped it to the ground.

As it turned out, the handgun was loaded. And that became abundantly clear to everyone as it hit the floor, the impact releasing the previously jammed firing pin and causing a single shot to be fired.

Straight up, under its owner's chin, through his jaw, and out the top of his skull.

After the shot echoed, the room was filled with silence for a few seconds, then "Just kidding. Guess it jammed. Anyone else want to try?" The group rushed out as quickly as they could, practically running over each other as Soitsu's laughter shifted from hysterical to maniacal.

With a wicked grin and a twisted laugh, Soitsu strolled through the hideout, finding more and more things that he found hilarious. Enemies hitting each other with ricocheted shots, light fixtures falling on top of people, someone even managed to slip on a banana peel and fall down a staircase. As he passed through what seemed to be the kitchen, a faint whiff of a foul smell evidenced that gas had begun to leak from the oven. And so Soitsu made his merry way all the way to the exit, surrounded by constant chaos and misfortune.

After stepping out, he made his way across the street before a familiar voice called out to him from behind. Looking over his shoulder, he saw the interrogator from when he first woke up, standing just inside the doorway, his own weapon drawn and pointed directly at Soitsu. His face was covered in blood, with his nose at a decidedly incorrect angle. "You son of a bitch, what the fuck did you do to all of them? What kind of monster are you???"

"A lucky one."

The man fired his gun at Soitsu, and as the bullet zipped a few inches to the right of his head, the hot gas coming from the muzzle ignited the natural gas that he had been unable to smell with his broken nose full of blood. I'm less than a second, the conflagration spread throughout the entire building, creating a blast that shook the very street. Shards of glass from the windows were launched everywhere, but none of them managed to so much as touch Soitsu.

Soitsu giggled all the way back to the abandoned building he called home.

That is, until he arrived and saw blue and red flashing lights.

-2 hours later-

"So, according to you, all of these events were not by your will, instead caused by the involuntary manifestation of your quirk?" The question came from a tall police officer with the face of a hamster.

"Yup. I'm pretty sure if I had any control of the situation, the building wouldn't have exploded. And I wouldn't have been there in the first place."

The officer sighed, shuffling through his papers. He hated dealing with kids who didn't know how to use their quirks. "Well, they are still finalizing everything, but with everything that happened today, as well as everything else on file, you are looking at charges for…" with an awkward squeek, he cleared his voice before continuing, "12 charges of felony illegal gambling, 17 charges of felony theft, numerous charges of unauthorized usage of quirk, and, as of today, 49 charges of involuntary manslaughter, as well as arson."

Trying his best not to laugh at the staggering numbers he was presented with, Soitsu nodded slowly, "So, am I fucked, or is there a catch?"

The officer's whiskers twitched, as he pulled a letter emblazoned with a large H from his papers, handing it to Soitsu. "In fact, there is. Either take this offer, or you'll be leaving in handcuffs."

"I guess today really is my lucky day."

[Personality]

Soitsu is a natural-born comic, and a compulsive liar. This combination results in him constantly manipulating the truth, playing into others' weaknesses, and weaving fantastic tales, all just for a laugh. At the end of the day, his motivation behind pretty much everything he does amounts to some level of "I thought it would be funny."

Despite his unorthodox upbringing and solitary lifestyle, he is incredibly charismatic and capable in social situations, skilled at telling people exactly what they want to hear. Unless, of course, making them upset would be funnier. By default, he is friendly to just about everyone he meets. After all, the more people he has laughing, the better his joke must be.

The sort of people he has the most trouble tolerating are those with a lack of humor, but even then he finds it absolutely hilarious how his musings simply go right over their head. He really has no interest at all in becoming a hero, but Hairo Academy seems like a fantastic opportunity to get a few good jokes in.

[Quirk]

Luck. Soitsu's quirk alters probability fields around him, causing things to go favorably for him, and poorly for anyone who opposes him. He doesn't have control over how this comes into effect, but has a fairly good handle on how it will behave in whatever situation he may be in. Notably, his quirk doesn't seem to have any effect on digital mechanisms, or if it does the effect is not consistent. He has no explanation for this beyond "fucking RNG"

On the Rebound

Spoiler

Applicant Name: Still me, Saikazo.

Character Name: Daicon Hane

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Appearance

Spoiler

3yHkhzN.gif

Height: 6'0
Weight: 210 pounds

Backstory

Spoiler

For most of his life, Hane lived in America with his father and mother. He dreamed of being a hero, and worked hard to that goal everyday. When he was 15, he applied to UA, ready to face the hero world, and get his hero license. However, on that day, he was devastated to discover that he was rejected. Like a fool, he had only applied to UA, so all he could do was wander around his hometown, lost and confused on what to do.

That same night, however, he happened upon a woman being mugged by a superpowered mugger. Against his better judgement, and against the law, he rushed in to help her, saving her from the Gun Quirk mugger. In doing this, he managed to grab the attention of an old time hero turned vigilante named Beetle Man, and after that night, Hane took his first steps into the world of vigilantism.

Over the next two years, Hane became the vigilante known as Bouncer, and with the help of his mentor, he took care of crime around the city, starting from small petty crimes, to something much bigger. Along the way, he made friends that joined his cause, and soon had a small group of vigilantes protecting the city at night, willing to go to places the heroes couldn't.

However, it soon came crashing down around him.

They had been investigating a drug that gave Quirkless people a Quirk of their own, and made a mountain of shocking discoveries. Not only was the local mafia behind the creation and distribution of drugs, but Hane's own mother was the head of the entire mafia, and his father was her lead scientist. Not only that, but it was soon discovered that Hane's quirk was not his own. He was born quirkless, and was one of the very first test subjects for the drug, giving him his Rubber Quirk. To top it all off, Hane had actually been accepted into UA, but his mother, wanting to keep her son close and groom him into the next head of the mafia, forged his rejection letter, keeping him in America.

Hane's entire world was flipped upside at the very moment. He was torn between doing the right thing and not destroying his family. In the very end though, with the encouragement of his friends, he and his group of vigilantes rushed in, and after a long fought battle, managed to defeat his mother and take down the entire drug operation.

However, it came at great cost. Vigilantism was illegal, after all, and after helping his friends escape, he was caught by the authorities, and spent some time under house arrest, being watched closely by the Hero Association. There was debate on what to do, as just sending him to prison may make him resent hero society and drive Hane to pick up where his parents left off and become the next head of the mafia, rebuilding a problem that was just solved.

Finally though, he was given a choice. He could either spend time in prison, or go to Hairo Academy for At Risk Youth. Seeing this as an opportunity to turn the entire mess around and become a hero despite it all, Hane agreed, and is now being thrown into the lion's den.

Personality

Spoiler

Hane is naturally a cheerful person, loving to crack jokes and make people smile. He likes to make friends, especially since he knows that the more friends he has, the easier it will be to overcome a challenge. He is very easygoing, and seems to be very excitable. He also takes his hero training very seriously, wanting to evolve past the vigilante Bouncer and into a new hero, one society can be proud of.

However, while this is all his true personality and not some sort of facade, he's also a bit troubled. As his world had crashed all around him, he feel a bit lost. His quirk isn't his own, he would never had made it as far as he did if something inherently evil didn't happen. He also struggles with his past decisions. Was locking his family away really the right thing to do? Should he have just accepted his place as the future head of the mafia, and try to steer it to a better place? He doesn't know, and that doubt causes him to freeze up when important decisions come up.

Being a vigilante has also molded his outlook on life. He does believe most rules of the Hero Society are far too constricting, and that big heroes have forgotten the smaller heroes. However, that just makes him more determined to become a hero. He'd watch after the little guy without worrying about the law breathing down his neck.

Quirk

Spoiler

Rubber: allows him to turn his skin into rubber for a minute. If used for a straight minute, he has to go through a five minute recharge. While he is rubber, he obviously can bounce around like a rubber ball, and he is basically immune to blunt physical damage. Sharp objects can still hurt him, but it still takes more effort to break his skin.

Interested, maybe. WIP

Applicant Name: .winter

Character Name: 骨霊 鬼星 | Honetama Kisei | “Ki”

Age: 15

Gender: liquid

Appearance: (A spoilered image, a four line description, or both are acceptable.  Add height/weight regardless)

Height: 2.04 m | 80.3 in | 6'8" (if standing upright)

Weight: 47.7 kg | 105 lbs

Backstory: (Spoilered, and two paragraphs of four lined text.  There's a reason you have been accepted into this specific school, so make your backstory tragic af if your quirk can't kill millions.  I'm only half kidding about making it tragic af though).

Personality: (One paragraph, spoilered.)

Quirk: Bone Control / Bone Growth

  • Category: Emitter
  • Description: Grants the ability to control bones via direct contact, as well as creating hard, bone-like deposits on his body.
  • Bone Manipulation: The quirk, by itself, allows the user to manipulate bone, both living and non-living, simply by touching it. Naturally, the user is granted full control of their own skeleton, even if the bone were to leave the body. To manipulate the bones of another person, the user must make direct contact with the skeleton; skin contact will have no effect. The quirk does not consider teeth to be bones.
  • Calcium Growth: Can create a bone-like deposit on any controlled bone. The deposits can be created like a hardened growth, or a plaster-like liquid that quickly cures into a bone-like substance.

Misc:

  • Ki has insanely precise control over their body through use of their Quirk. Their range of motion is similar to Inosuke from Demon Slayer.
  • Ki is mostly numb to pain. And feeling in general.

Excuse me while I also figure out how to format things in the new site.

Would like to note interest since your RP is open. You said to go nuts in regards to quirk, but I'm sure there are limits. Can I ask what specifically is restricted?

Since it doesn't look like I'll get a direct answer to this, I'll drop the skeleton here and you can tell me if you have room or just don't think the character is acceptable or what have you.

Applicant Name: Comrade Duck

Character Name: Tony Adachi | A.K.A. "Tone Death"

Age: 17

Gender: Male

[Appearance]

Half American, half Japanese, Tony stands at five feet and eight inches tall. He has muddy, unkempt blonde hair that reaches the nape of his neck. His eyes are a simple black color and there aren't many noteable features about him. He's mostly plain, and doesn't wear anything that stands out too much. If you can find him wearing anything other than a t-shirt and jeans, its a rare occasion. His tennis shoes are worn ragged with barely any sole remaining in them, but they're his favorite pair. The only thing that really marks Tony or allows you to identify him more clearly, are the oversized bumblebee colored headphones he almost never takes off. If he's not sleeping or in the shower, he'll be wearing them. And if they're not on his head, they're right beside him or draping on his neck.

[Character History]
Born deaf, Tony has no hope of recovering his hearing ever in his lifetime. This was perceived as more detrimental than anything else by Tony's father, Kugo Adachi. His own quirk was sound based and if it passed down to his son, how would the boy perceive it? Tony learned to accept this at an early age. His mother, Henrietta Adachi and father subsequently taught him to read lips and sign language from a young age. Tony also learned to read facial expressions and emotional cues fairly well with his eyes. He was highly intelligent and perceptive in that regard, which kept things from getting too awkward between himself and any childhood friends he may have had. But the simple life that Tony was adjusting too didn't last long, and soon it would spiral out of control after his quirk developed.

At age four, Tony finally discovered his quirk, which was complex to say the least. Much like his father's quirk, it was based on sound. But unlike his father, Tony couldn't hear anything. Rather, he could feel things. Vibrations, radio frequencies, sharp pitches, dim whispers, and so much more. Everything around him had a different feeling, and it was like his brain was being overloaded. On the day Tony discovered his quirk, he collapsed in his parent's backyard, grabbing at his head trying to make things become quiet again. Kugo and Henrietta rushed over to Tony, trying to assess what was wrong. However, he was in too much pain to sign. He tried to explain his pain but it was too much. Kugo sat Tony upright and stared into Tony's eyes, rapidly signing to the boy and speaking aloud as well. "Focus. Pick one sound that you like and only listen to that. Make that your favorite sound."

Tony's mind slowly started to calm as, for the first time, he could 'hear' his father's voice. Focusing on the vibrations of his father's voice, Tony slowed his breathing down and things began to go quiet again. He hugged his father tightly as things went back to normal, thanking him for his help. That would be the last time Tony's family would be whole.

---------

Tony's quirk would prove to be the spark that drove his family apart. Over the next two years, the amount of fighting in their home would escalate drastically. Kugo, a college professor of law, would purposely spend more time at work just to avoid coming home. Henrietta would spend more time drinking to avoid her problems. At the age of seven, Tony would witness his parents' divorce, and he would never see his mother again. It was at this point in Tony's life that Kugo would become so absorbed in his work, that Tony would end up raising himself. An absent mother and absent father were just what Tony needed to push himself to become independent.

After a slow start in his life and underachieving in schooling, he thought he would try his hand at becoming a hero. Of course, his entry into the prestigious U.A. was declined, and Tony could feel himself spiraling. More rejection letters were sorted through and Tony knew he didn't have a chance to get into hero work either. Though he had much more control over his quirk now, he had no control over depression and anxiety. He had begun to feel hopeless and there was no one for him to turn to. That is until he found a final letter in the pile of rejections with an offer extended to him.

The "Hairo Academy for at Risk Youth" was his only and final hope. He tore open the envelope and read through the offer. After reading numerous rejection letters, he realized he had no other options. He held the letter tightly and made the decision without his father present. He was going to accept it.

[Personality]

After raising himself, Tony developed an extreme sense of independence. He taught himself to read and write. He learned mathematics and sciences all his own too. As such, he's very prideful and doesn't take well to authority. He is more inclined to cooperate with someone like himself than an elder. Even so, Tony is very outgoing. Realizing his handicap and his own shortcomings, Tony is striving to prove to himself that he can accomplish something--anything and become successful in the world. He comes off as headstrong, but really Tony's analytical skills are well developed. They have to be to make up for his own deficiencies. Tony also prefers to keep to himself. He knows that he won't make friends easily because sign-language is uncommon. Sure he can read lips and expressions, but it doesn't increase his desire to be social. The easiest way to get to know Tony is through music. Anything with a lot of bass will draw his attention and entice him. He's a metalhead by heart, but he loves most music. But don't offer him anything country related. He'll be upset.

[Quirk]

Tony's quirk is Sound Wave. It allows him to control, manipulate, sense, and create sounds of all kinds. Tony detects these sounds mentally, but he must focus to isolate sounds. This can range from decibels as low as -10 to as loud as 200. What makes his quirk dangerous is the ability to cause mania or even death in mentally ill-prepared opponents. While it takes great concentration, if Tony can focus on creating a negative decibel sound, it would take only minutes to drive someone mad. Prolonged exposure can fry the brain and cause permanent damage or even death. Naturally, this takes a ton of strength from Tony, and at a young age, he can only use this technique -- dubbed, "Deadly Silence" -- up to twice a week. Louder sounds take an equal amount of strength but cause more collateral damage. Tony's loudest sound -- dubbed "White Out" -- is ten decibels shy of an atomic bomb. He hasn't actually created that sound yet for fear of hurting someone else, but he is capable of producing it. Like "Deadly Silence" he can only use this technique up to twice a week. He cannot use both abilities twice per week. If he uses one ability twice, he cannot use the other.

Excluding his ability to kill, Tony has other niche things he can do. One of these includes echolocation, allowing him to effectively become a walking beacon. In addition, Tony's footsteps are unnaturally silent. Because the sole in his shoes are worn, the bottoms of his feet touch the ground, and he subconsciously reduces the sound of his footsteps, breathing, and even his heartbeat.

Dropping interest here. Might go for a "we live in a society" type.

By the way, at what point in canon is this taking place? I don't want to get spoiled.
