Spoiler

Name: Anton "Arsenal" Siedrich

Age: 47

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Spoiler

AoJxYFW.png

Standing just over six foot in height, Anton Siedrich used to be the picture of an average man in his late twenties. Fairly, but not overly, muscular covered in tanned skin and with a head of dark hair that was usually kept mostly controlled. Where this changes now is, rather obviously, his limbs. Where there was once normal flesh and bone there are now some truly remarkably prosthetics. Far beyond anything on the open market, these steely arms and legs are every bit as much weapons as they are limbs. Characterized by a gleaming black finish and red glowing lights that brighten or dim depending upon the amount of taint in his blood, and a set of claws meant to make the most of the robotic limbs' superhuman strength. Concerning the parts of his body that are still flesh and blood (namely his head, torso, and the stumps of his limbs) his skin is tanned and absolutely covered in scars both from intensive surgery and a long career spent hunting. The last things worth noting are his now permanently red eyes, allegedly a side effect of spending as long as he did hunting, and the horn-like growths on his forehead. Little more than blunted nubs, they're still quite jarring for most normal people to look at and make it difficult for him to go out normally.

Personality:

Spoiler

Considering his past as a Senior NCO in the United States Army, perhaps it's not very surprising to hear that Anton is a remarkably serious sort. Treating junior hunters as privates who barely know which way is up and senior hunters as everything from respectable senior officers to 2nd Lieutenants who are much more of a threat to themselves than anything they could be put up against. Considering that he sees it as his utmost responsibility to see to the success of any operations that he finds himself involved in, he tends to slip into a role much like what he filled in the army. Taking the orders of his superiors, such as they are, and bringing out more specific commands for the hunters under him to ensure they can use their abilities as efficiently as possible. As it happens, efficiency is the name of the game. Kill any demons or tainted creatures as quickly as possible, get everyone fed, and get out before any eyes end up on them.

As far as demons are concerned, his thoughts are entirely business. They want to kill most of humanity, and it's his job to stop them. His thoughts begin and end there, and he avoids the fanaticism that other members of the DHA exhibit towards their demonic quarry. So instead of killing every last one of them on the scene out of some misguided hatred, he does so out of calm, cool professional pride.

The same cannot be said for rogue hunters. Idiots playing at the job the DHA has been handling for centuries get exactly one response from him. Shut up, get behind the professionals, and sign up once the situation is handled or take a bullet in the eyes.

Biography:

Spoiler

Anton's life was not of particular relevance to anyone for roughly its first half. Born in 1973, he attended school as normal and ultimately enlisted in the United States Army shortly after he graduated in 1991. His first deployment was to Kuwait, acting as part of the coalition garrison in the aftermath of the Gulf War. He in particular saw involvement in many of the de-mining operations surrounding the hundreds of burning oil wells left behind by the Iraqi armed forces. He spent most of the remaining year going wherever his unit was needed, and ultimately returned to the states in normal rotation. The rest of his military career, while certainly of interest to someone, is not of particular importance to the DHA.

Where the soldier's career becomes important to the DHA is some ten years later during the invasion of Afghanistan. In late December of 2001, Anton's platoon was tasked with clearing a village of insurgents as part of the continuing efforts to drive Al Qaeda out of the country. Things were going well, up until soldiers started vanishing. Radio signals suddenly going silent, bodies torn apart before anyone could even see what was killing them, and before anyone could call for reinforcements Anton felt his stomach being impaled from the front. Face-to-face with an enormous, clawed entity that was openly mocking his weakness, Anton lashed out. He caught the thing off guard with a few shots to its neck, and as it stumbled back some of the blood spraying from its wounds splattered across him. As its accursed power began to course through his veins, Anton turned the fight and between his newfound powers and coordinated fire from the remnants of his platoon, including the use of a Light Anti-Tank Weapon, managed to slay the demon. In the aftermath of the incident, the still quite intact Afghan chapter of the Demon Hunter Association involved themselves and quietly covered up the situation. Anton stayed on with the Afghan chapter for the following four years due to complications in arranging his transfer back to the states, and also because the increasing levels of violence seemed to be increasing the rate of demonic activity and the chapter badly needed more manpower. Thankfully the DHA at large was able to mobilize on an international level, and in May of 2006 Anton, who had long since come by his code name "Arsenal," returned to the United States.

Of course it was right back to work almost as soon as he set down. His experience in the rugged mountains and deserts of Afghanistan made him an obvious fit for the American chapter's Southwest Regional Team. And it was as part of this team that he entered into the unofficial American Hunters Tier List, a way by which hunters were internally ranked based on their performance and personal power. Perhaps expectedly, Anton quickly climbed his way into the ranks of the top 5 thanks to his exceedingly high rate of hunt success and ability to coordinate attacks with and by other hunters under his leadership. In spite of never finding a regional director position, he was made the Texas Operational Director and proved ever more successful in that role. To the point that he became one of the team leaders for the DHA's International Gulf-Carribean Task Force. This, along with his achievement of killing a B-class demon on a solo hunt, put him in serious contest to take the number one spot. Then, everything went to shit on July 15, 2014.

This was the infamous Black Tuesday event, wherein the initial involvement of an inexperienced team of Hunters kicked off a day long running battle up and down Mustang Island off the coast of Texas that saw a progressively worsening situation regarding the demons involved. Culminating in the appearance of an apparent S-class demon which took the involvement of the entirety of the Gulf-Carribean Task Force to bring down, this incident saw unprecedented casualties among the DHA's personnel, in which Anton was included when he lost both his arms and legs. That might have been the end of his hunting, were it not for the involvement of the Southwest Director of Research and Development. The enigmatic Ferris, who brought him into her so-called Ironclads Program. This was the means by which he gained the artificial limbs which allowed him to return to active duty as a hunter, and over two long years of physical therapy and continual development of the weaponized limbs he became more than he had been before Black Tuesday. After his recovery, he was transferred to the US Chapter's National Headquarters and brought aboard the Chapter Ethics Committee.

For the last four years, Anton's role has been to act as an Auditor. Officially, he occasionally drops into various bases across the country, investigates them, and reports his findings directly to the International Board of Hunter Ethics. In practice, his role is more different. Because of the US Chapter's fierce independent streak, he more often drops in on Regional Commands which are involved in ethically dubious practices and assists them in making those practices impossible for the DHA at large to learn of and report to International Command. The other part of his role is to track down Rogue Hunters within the United States, a task which he will frequently second other hunters from the region he is in at the time to assist with, and either integrate them into the organization as a whole or simply kill them. With the upcoming visit of the National Director to the Northeast Regional Command's Headquarters, Anton is expected to come along as well.
