Tharmory: Thar's RP Character Archive

Welcome to the armory, or as I appropriately call "Tharmory", because any time I can apply my username into wordplay, I will.

This will effectively serve as an archive for any characters I make that may or may not see action depending on the activeness/existence of the RP as well as my own activeness or lack thereof. Additionally, this may also serve as a workshop for characters that I felt inspired to make for existing RPs (either that I have no interest in participating in or rather do but cannot be accepted), for any potential RPs that may or may not be made in the future, or just purely for fun.

Below are the characters in question. Each character is linked to the post in the OOC for their application. Dates most likely will not reflect on the original post due to edits made to the app (for some reason the client overrides the original date with the date edited, which is lame but whatever.)

Feel free to look around, discuss, or provide feedback on anything you see here. This thread will be updated accordingly as new characters are made/edited.

"You think the darkness is your ally against the light. I was born in darkness, yet by my hand you shall face the light in all its glory."

Targael is an abyssal tiefling Dragoon of the Platinum Dragon, Bahamut. The Dragoons are an order of holy knights who serve the Argonian Empire, based in the capital city Argonia. As a Dragoon, she vigilantly fights against the otherworldly threats to the material plane with her giant maul charged with divine energy. Her resolve for bringing balance to the world is as unmatched as her kindness and generosity to people in need.

-

Targael was born by the name of Ysurgal Dahr in the Abyss as a bastard child to the demon lord Xatym Dahr, a powerful being of evil leading an army against the Hells in a conquest to take over all planes of existence. In an effort to produce the ultimate champion to lead his forces, he captured a celestial being and held her hostage in his domain, forcing her to bear his child and tend to his every whim. Not long after she was born, Ysurgal’s celestial blood made her feel compassion for her mother as well as anger towards her father for his cruel intentions, causing her to flee. With what felt like no escape, she found herself being brought to the material plane by a summoning ritual by a warlock of similar kin. However, her paranoia made her believe he was serving her father, causing her to keep running in an unfamiliar plane.

Not knowing where to go and being scorned by citizens of the towns, Ysurgal kept to the shadows under a hooded cloak, living as a nomad. This lifestyle drew her to other nomads of the land, where she learned the ways of the underground, stealing to live while also providing for others in need. The latter especially appealed to her as she only kept what she needed to survive while giving most of her own spoils, for which she was greatly admired for. In addition to this act of kindness, she also took to vigilante work after learning the ways of stealthy combat, assisting the local law enforcement in apprehending criminals and helping victims of gang violence. This drew attention from a traveling Dragoon that wore the pendant of the Platinum Dragon, which Ysurgal was mesmerized by. The dragoon saw something in her despite her appearance and offered to escort her to be assessed for recruitment into the Platinum Dragoons in Argonia.

Upon arrival to the capital city, Ysurgal expected to be heavily scorned for her presence, but was surprised to find a strange amount of acceptance amongst the citizens, including the Dragoons and their Grandmaster. Upon assessment, she began her duties as an assistant that tended to the care of the facility and the needs of the knights. Naturally, her history with vigilante work left this kind of work much to be desired as the dragoons often found her training in the courtyards using weapons discarded in the scrap piles. A few dragoons would give pointers on the side. Some offered to spar with her. Others simply found it entertaining to watch this new girl try to fight despite her sloppiness with these heavy weapons. In time, her strength and skill in combat grew, allowing her the chance to be tested for worthiness of wearing dragoon armor, which she passed with extraordinary ability even compared to veteran knights. Upon promotion, she was officially given the title of Dragoon, but insisted her name was changed along with it, for which her name became Targael.

The tiefling’s first duties was to travel to a location where a potentially dangerous warlock was located, instructed to travel with his group and supervise his intentions and prevent his corrupted ambition from getting too far. This warlock was to find and gather a series of books containing dark magic to be sealed off from the world for good, but this man was not to be trusted with such power. Targael would see to holding these books for him upon finding them, for only he knew of their whereabouts. Along the way, she met other adventurers: A human soldier, a human wizard, an elven ranger, and a half-elven sorcerer. On their travels, the warlock she was charged to watch over was slain in battle, giving her the responsibility of carrying out his mission. In time they grew close in their travels as they all carried out their adventures, taking on dangerous tasks together as they all grew in strength and experience.

Targael, however, would eventually be reminded of the great threat that continued to haunt her. Her father, Xatym, had began to breach the dimensional barrier of the Abyss as his forces continued to threaten the universe. The party would learn that they are up against forces far greater than they imagined, prompting them to find help in the fight against the dark forces of the demon lord of dominance.

Time passed as the party got stronger and obtained powerful equipment, eventually being as ready as they could be to confront Xatym in his own domain and win by a hair. Targael’s demons had finally been lifted, but the efforts of the war against this threat left her Grandmaster slain. As such, the victory left a unanimous vote to make her the new Grandmaster and oversee the development of the Dragoons in the new coming age as the rest of the party went their separate ways to pursue their own goals.

One of the party members, however, had plans that would send the entire continent into a state of dictatorship. Finn Wolfhart, the human wizard that formally accompanied the party beforehand, had influenced his way into power over all of Argonia and carried out total command that would forbid the use of magic and slowly drain whatever source of magical power was left in the land. Targael, having been a part of an organization under the Argonian Empire, was outraged to be serving this new power, causing her to separate herself from the Dragoons and flee to the only land in the continent that was not influenced by Finn’s power, where she came to lead a new band of resistance fighters that sought to overthrow this corruption.

After years of leading the effort to unite the rebellion, the responsibility left her exhausted as she has since aged significantly to where she could no longer fight for long as she preferred to simply be a healer for anyone who was injured from the war. After Finn was slain, Targael finally settled down with a man she met in a library where she learned the magics of healing and alchemy, eventually letting old age take her as she finally reunited with her mother.
