Last time, on The Fallen God

Team Mac, Day 22, Ogren

The group had just arrived, after trekking through a stamina draining swampland, to the city of Ogren. Where they met a pair of Eeveelutions and were invited to their wedding the following day. When attempting to relax from their journey thus far the self-proclaimed leader of the group, Mackenzie, ended up getting into a fight with some of the local kids.

Ari and Kazo went to intervene.

"Hey!" Mac responded. "I can handle this myself, what're they gonna do tell their mommies? I'll kick her butt, too!"

The group of young Gijinka seemed to be startled by her attitude, having expected her to back down, but the leader gave the other two a dirty look. "Why're you in our city anyway? Think you can just come in and eat without givin nothin?"

"Now now, children." A kind voice came. "I think we all need to settle down. A woman came up to the group, giving them an apologetic look. "I apologize for these children, people have been on edge lately and I am afraid the young ones have been most affected."

The boy looked bashful as the woman came, mumbling something about not being scared or anything, and Mac couldn't help but shoot him a cheeky grin.

"I, too, am fairly new to this city." The woman said. "But I assure you they are rather welcoming most of the time."

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 33, Under the Sea

After a massive fight inside of an equally massive bubble the group finds themselves under scrutiny from a pair of Merm soldiers. Soldiers who say that Dora is their missing princess and had demanded answers.

The two listened to the calm words of the group and seemed to relax slightly. Though one of them stepped forward and stretched out his hand. "Nevertheless we would prefer she stay at our side. Princess, we know that Gisei stole you from your home but you don't have to fear now, we will bring you back to your father."

"Gigi didn't steal me! He protected me! Mamma told him to!"

The soldiers hesitated, then one shook his head. "I'm sure that you're right." He said, clearly not believing it. "But we should go now. Your father has been worried."

The other looked to the group. "We can escort you back to the surface if you wish."

Team Karaoke, Day 33, Juyu

The group had witnessed a miracle. A Legend, Jirachi the Wish Maker, had given her life to save the lives of Meloetta and Heather, the sheriff of Juyu, and they learned the identity of the only living Gijinka to have spoken to Arceus directly. After a night's rest they group intended to set out on the next leg of their journey. A journey back home for Gwen and Lok. With Nine and Kayla, deputy of Juyu, tagging along.

They found Kayla near the exit of the city. Or rather Kayla found them. As she stepped out next to them and greeted them with an almost inaudible hello. She then showed them how she planned on reaching Alpha.

Standing, holding what was essentially a giant wheelbarrow without wheels, right outside the city was a, familiar to some, girl. The Dragonite delivery girl, Quincy. She waved happily at them and called out. "I heard you all wanted a lift!"

Team Showdown, Day 30, Southshore Forest

What stared out as a fight against a powerful Legend turned into a battle alongside said legend against a dangerous Godslayer. The Crobat woman had shown that she was nimble and hard to catch, leading Taiga to tell Zygarde to lift the force that was limiting their Abilities.

The Legend seemed to not fully understand until she remembered the attack that had begun all this. With a slow nod she crouched down and placed her hands on the ground. The area around them began to glow a deep green and the group would find their natural Abilities returning to them. Though it had the unfortunate affect of taking Zygarde's attention off of their would-be killer.

Team Alola, Day 23, Dangerous...wait only some of them are in the cave

After resting in what seemed an entirely innocent and completely safe cave the group was beset by cannibals. After a fierce battle the group of attacking cannibals was down to their seeming leader, a stubborn and hungry Skuntank.

He had released a wave of acid at the group but didn't stop there. With surprising swiftness the monstrous Gijinka went after Nani with another powerful Night Slash. Any who tried to interfere would find themselves being attacked by an Acid Spray in the process.

So far so good! The cannibal crew was down to just the one Skuntank - Nani was still pretty sure he was the leader - and while he seemed to want a big slice of Nani-cake for himself, it was just him against both Nani and her... friends? It wasn't too soon to call them that, right? As much as Nani wanted to ask about that, there were bigger priorities right now. Namely, the Skuntank gunning for her buns. Nani had a bit of a plan, and while she didn't want to have to get hit for it, it was best to let him get into point-blank range, right? And so, she waited for the Skuntank to reach her, bracing herself for the impact.

And once she felt it, Nani clapped her hands onto the Skuntank's face, discharging waves of electricity from them and directly into the Skuntank. "Surprise! A Thunder Wave for being the last man standing!" With that, the Mimikyu hurriedly climbed up onto the Skuntank's shoulders, leaping away back toward the rest of her team. She was hurting, and didn't particularly want to take another hit, but surely with the Skuntank slowed down, everyone else could clean him up, right?

While both her and Nani had managed to slow the Skuntank down a bit, Marie was still not at all wanting to get closer to the cannibal and kept her distance. As such, she was thankful for it continuing to try and attack Nani, but not wanting her Mimikyu friend to get hurt decided to intervene herself. Taking a deep breath to get ready to strike, the girl was then caught off guard as a glob of purple mass was flung at her, striking her. While the attack itself didn't have much impact on her, as it drenched her she started to feel a painful burning sensation course across her entire body and began to tear up as bit down on her lip to keep from crying out in pain.

Gritting her teeth, the girl's necklace began to shimmer with light, as blue aura began to coat the entirety of the greatly injured Brionne's body. Her expression was one of pain and frustation as she looked at the Skuntank merely shouting, "stop trying to eat us!" With that, she blasted a far more powerful stream of water than one would expect towards the cannibal, hoping to aid in Nani's grand escape from its attack.

With the night having passed and the group getting ready to move on, they had soon found themselves at the entrance to Juyu. Looking back at the now freshly fixed city, leaving it behind and all of the troubles and revelations that came with it, Nine merely said, "until next time." With Kayla having appeared before them, the Houndoom watched as she directed their attention to their ride. Seeing the familiar Dragonite, a smile crossed Nine's face as he said, "well hey there Quincy. Been awhile." Looking to the others, a more giddy smile crossed his face as he asked, "have you guys ever used this service before? I haven't but I'm sure it's going to be a wild ride."

Southshore Forest Team Showdown

Scarlet watched as Veronica suddenly disappeared in a blur of speed, dashing towards Taiga and Zygarde. Scarlet grit her teeth; she wasn't about to let her off that easily. The Scizor broke into a sprint, dashing behind Veronica. As she dashed forwards, she felt a sort of relief; the kind that one would get when they found something that had been lost. As she got closer, she saw the Crobat go in for a bite attack on Zygarde. "You won't get away for me that easily!" Scarlet shouted, dashing right into the girl.

As she got close to the girl, she immediately went in for a grapple, trying to place her arms around the other girl's neck and stomach as she pulled back. Despite her best efforts, however, she was more than sure that the Crobat had already struck. If she did manage to grapple the girl, Scarlet's pincers would almost immediately clamp down on her with a Bug Bite.

The night passed, although Lok didn't get much sleep at all. He was used to getting nightmares, some more intense than others, but this night had been by far the worst. He tried to fall asleep multiple times that night, but each time he'd get the nightmare. It always started the same; a perfect recreation of his final conversation with Fiona in the cell. It was around the point where he started getting angry where things would change - sometimes he did fire off that Thunderbolt and got himself killed by her, other times Nikoria would break free and kill him on the spot. It was always different, and always more horrifying than the last. He tried as hard as he could to sleep, even trying those lucid dreaming tips he had gotten a long time ago by a friendly Ghastly girl, but nothing seemed to work. Needless to say, he spent most of the night staring upwards.

The next day, Lok felt tired. They met up with Kayla, who was tagging along with them apparently. He must have missed that the previous day from all his brooding. He didn't have much time to think, as Quincy showed up soon after. "have you guys ever used this service before? I haven't but I'm sure it's going to be a wild ride." Lok let out a big yawn, shaking his head. He rubbed his eyes; anyone that was looking at him could visibly see his exhaustion on his face.

"No... I haven't..." He said slowly, making his way towards the wagon. Another yawn escaped him.

Randy took another deep breath, glancing at the Pawniard fainted in the mud, as he nodded, determining that he wasn't going to get back up anytime soon. The rain was definitely helping some...though it really put a damper on how he was feeling...Fire types and water just did not mix... But right now, he needed to turn tail and get back to the others. He turned and made his way back towards the cave, seeing Nani, Marie, and the Skuntank. It seemed to be the last one standing...so this made everything better.

It seemed like Marie and Nani already made their assaults on the Poison-Type, so he moved towards them and immediately fired off a Fire Blast at the Skuntank, aiming it just the right way so no one but the Skuntank would get hit.

"H-Heh...that won't do too much...in this rain..." he spoke with a slight growl. "...but, it'll do something at least...y-you two manaʻo maikaʻi...?"

Ari breathed a sigh of relief when it looked like they weren't going to get in trouble because of Mac being...well, Mac. "It's fine, Mac's tough. She can take it." He grinned at Mac before shooting a look at the other kid that had started the fight. At least he seemed to have calmed down. Maybe they'd get to eat in peace. "Is it fine if she goes up and gets another bowl?" he asked. She'll start whining about being hungry otherwise... he thought.

Escort them back to the surface? When they hadn't even arrived? "No thank you," Easter replied, smiling brightly. "How could we pass up the chance to visit your fair city? Plus, I can't see us wanting to separate from Dora so suddenly. No, if it's fine with you, we'd like to continue to Merm." Easter could admit to some curiosity on his part. Merm was one of the few cities he hadn't been to. Skuldafn was another, but that was for an entirely different reason.

Keanu continued to lie on the ground, his mind finally starting to clear. But even so, the ground was much more comfortable than he had first thought. Also, it took a lot less energy to just lie there than it would to stand up. The others have it handled, he thought, giving a mental thumbs up toward them. You can do it!

Veronica attempted to escape, but as the wind had died down, she was not nearly as fast as before, though still quite fast. Taking the grapple and the Bug Bite from Scarlet, the woman gritted her teeth before slipping out of the hold and turning back to the woman, eyes determined. "You don't understand...none of you do." She shook her head. "I suppose words won't work on you. In the end, force has always been the greatest persuader." The Crobat retaliated with a bite of her own against the Scizor, those giant fangs from before appearing, aiming to pierce through the gijinka's body.

Team Showdown - Southshore Forest

Taiga's words had finally reached Groudon, as that weird power that drug her down had finally lifted.  She could feel her latent speed start to well up inside her once more.  After a bit of exercise, she would surely be a match for the Crobat on her own!  However, before she could start, she had to do some fighting away from the fight.  She turned to face Zygarde.

"Now, hit her hard!  I'll help!"  Taiga roared, as the muscles in her arms started to pump up.  From the earth, she ripped up a torrent of water, larger than she had created before.  With a massive battle cry, Taiga whipped it around and out of the ground, like she had tamed some sort of bull worm.  With a bit of spinning, to up the momentum of the pillar of water, she whirled up her attack.  After a moment, she stopped spinning, and let the attack loose, sending it flying towards the Crobat, who was in close proximity to Scarlet.  "Whoops..."  She chuckled.  "You better dodge it, chrome dome!"

She could feel it now.  She was faster.

Kazo was busy flicking dirt off of the bowl, so busy in fact that he didn't notice that a woman had walked up to them until she began to speak. Kazo let out a little fearful yelp, his suddenly jerky movements causing the bowl to fly up into the air, spinning until it landed perfectly on Kazo's head. He bashfully and quickly took the bowl off of his head as the woman continued.

"I, too, am fairly new to this city." The woman said. "But I assure you they are rather welcoming most of the time."

"Y-yeah, we seem to bring the worst out of cities...," Kazo muttered, remembering the last few towns they were in.

"Is it fine if she goes up and gets another bowl?" Ari spoke up, causing Kazo to nod.

"Y-yeah, she didn't get to eat, after all," Kazo added. Hopefully they could.

"Nevertheless we would prefer she stay at our side. Princess, we know that Gisei stole you from your home but you don't have to fear now, we will bring you back to your father." One of the soldiers stated.

"Gigi didn't steal me! He protected me! Mamma told him to!" Dora defended. Denku had no idea if this was true or not.

The soldiers hesitated, then one shook his head. "I'm sure that you're right." He said, clearly not believing it. "But we should go now. Your father has been worried."

The other looked to the group. "We can escort you back to the surface if you wish."

"No thank you," Easter replied, smiling brightly. "How could we pass up the chance to visit your fair city? Plus, I can't see us wanting to separate from Dora so suddenly. No, if it's fine with you, we'd like to continue to Merm."

"Yeah, we've stuck with the squirt for this long, rather not abandon her right out of the blue," Denku added. "I hear Merm's nice this time of year, let's confirm it,"

The soldiers were spinning a much different version of the story than Dora had. Brooke dug her nails into the palm of her hand until blood dripped from under her cuticles, struggling to control the overwhelming protective instincts that flared up when they mentioned taking the little princess. Her little princess.

Denku and and Easter were, thankfully, in agreement.

Brooke stepped forward to block the soldier’s view of the Wooper. “You aren’t taking her anywhere, the last of her sentence rumbled out of her throat, a barely shrouded promise of what would happen if they tried to take Dora. The way they were arranged, Brooke in front, Easter to Dora’s left, and Denku to her right, they had unintentionally formed a protective barrier around her. “I’m her guardian; all three of us have almost died protecting her. If she’s going to Merm, we all are, one way or another.”

Brooke’s tail lashed dangerously back and forth, a bullwhip waiting to be swung. “So are we on the same page?”

Team Alola, Day 23, Danger Near a Cavelike Area

Having been hit by a Thunder Wave the large Skuntank now began to move more the speed one would expect with a person his size. He attempted to swipe at Nani but the girl managed to dodge out of the way. Due in part to the Skuntank taking a Water Gun attack to his face, knocking him backwards as he tried to keep the water from entering his nose and mouth.

Still, it seemed to be ready to keep going, and lunged forward to Night Slash Marie...only for his body to seize up due to the paralysis. Then he got blasted off his feet by the Fire Blast and landed on his back. It lay there, twitching, and struggled to get back to his feet. Anger clear in its wild eyes.

Team Karaoke, Day 33, Juyu

"have you guys ever used this service before? I haven't but I'm sure it's going to be a wild ride."

"Can't...say I have." Gwen said, uncertain about this all. How could one Gijinka possibly transport them all in any speedy manner? She hesitantly floated after Nine and Lok. Noticing the tired state of the boy she reached into her bag and brought out a chunk of chocolate wrapped in some kind of leafy wrapping and held it out to him. "Here you go, Lok, this'll wake you up for sure."

Kayla muttered something then, about probably won't need that to wake up, and they'd notice she was already inside the basket-like object Quincy held.

"Hold...onto the sides." Kayla told them. "Falling off would be bad."

Gwen frowned here, but obediently grabbed onto one edge of the basket as she climbed aboard. "So...what exactly is it you do?" She asked Quincy.

"I fly! Really, really, fast! Everyone ready? Good!" Quincy said all this without pausing for an answer as she lifted up the handles on the basket. Then, with a sudden start, she took off running. Then, after several dozen feet, jumped into the air and took off at high speeds.

Gwen's grip slipped and she started to fall towards the back of the basket, ramming into Nine in the process.

"SLOW DOWN!" She shouted out over the wind.

"Speed up? Gotcha!" Quincy said and they took off at even greater speeds. Eventually they got into a more steady pace, one that allowed them to actually breath normally, and speak if they so wished.

"You should...have warned us." Gwen said, giving Nine a scolding look.

Team Showdown, Day 30, Southshore Forest

Zygarde watched Taiga for a moment, examining the odd Gijinka who had taken on some sort of leadership role in this fight.
Very well. She would see if this girl knew what she was doing. Veronica had attacked Scarlet and the two seemed to be locked in some sort of embrace but that didn't stop Taiga from launching an attack of her own at them. Which meant that Zygarde should feel no qualms about doing so.

Standing back up the Legend thrust her arms forward and the ground to the left and right of the pair erupted into a pair of arrows that were sent towards where the two Gijinka were locked in combat. Hopefully that Scizor could find a way out of this grapple in time.

Isole shook her head. "You're gonna get Scarlet killed." She muttered towards Taiga. "Guess it's the best chance to hit the Crobat though." So she added her own attack to the mix. Launching a Thunderbolt at the water that Taiga was sending towards the Crobat and electrifying it.

Team Mac, Day 22, Ogren

"Oh, of course she can. She can have my bowl. You have no reason to complain about that, do you?" She said, turning to the leader of the group of kids, smiling sweetly at him. The boy blushed and muttered something unintelligible before rushing off and bringing the others, who were teasing him the whole way, out of the area.

She then turned to Mac, who was still standing on the table and looking rather unsure what to do with herself. "Here you go, sweetie, I already ate so you can have this one."

Mac looked down at them, then at the other two. "I...I could have taken them!" She shouted before snatching the bowl, sitting down, and spooning it into her mouth at a rapid pace.

The Miltank gave a small laugh behind her hand and turned back towards Ari and Kazo. "And what of you two? Did you eat your fill? You're both so very skinny! I heard you were adventurers of some sort that sounds like an awfully dangerous thing for a group of young Gijinka like yourself. I wonder, what drove you to take up such a risky endeavor? Surely you must have homes to go to." She then brought a hand to her face and gasped. "Oh, I apologize if I struck a nerve. I'm afraid I can be rather nosy at times."

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 33, Under the Sea

The soldiers seemed to be thrown off by the polite responses from Easter and Denku, and one seemed to be particularly flustered at Easter's words. However it was when Brooke spoke that they gave the most reaction.

One of them, whom had been already flustered by Easter, recoiled and took a step back. He seemed concerned that Brooke was about to do something. The other, though, narrowed his eyes at the Emboar. "Threatening us will get you nowhere. Princess, is this brutish woman really some sort of guardian?"

"I don't know what that means!" Dora proclaimed happily. "But Brooke is like a big sister! A strong big sister! And Easter is a friendly big sister and and and Denku is a silly big brother!"

The two seemed to be rather confused by all this but, with a grunt from one, began to talk among themselves.

In the end they decided that the group as a whole at least seemed rather sincere and they ordered the Chinchou outside the bubble to move the floating object along faster and more steadily than Dora had been able to.

As they did Dora started to try and climb on Brooke's back, one of the two soldiers tried awkwardly to flirt with Easter, and the other, more serious one, began to question Denku about his "dangerous appearance" and seemed to be skirting around trying to ask him how to look cool, too.

Scarlet managed to hold Veronica for a while, however, her grip wouldn't last forever. "You don't understand... none of you do." Veronica shook her head, staring straight at Scarlet. "I suppose words won't work on you. In the end, force has always been the greatest persuader." Scarlet let out a cry as the biting attack pierced through her outer shell. Instinctively, she stumbled back a bit from the attack.

"Trust us... we understand completely." Scarlet responded bitterly, her eyes glancing over to behind Veronica. She saw the others starting their onslaught on Veronica... and Scarlet was in the blast zone. "You're blinded by your sense of 'justice', we understand that perfectly." Scarlet said, crouching slightly. She then launched herself backwards, her wings fluttering, as she dashed as far away from where everyone was attacking. She felt herself nearly stumble and fall on the ground as she flew back, but barely managed to stay on two feet. Scarlet let out a pant, placing one of her pincers on one of the holes left in her armor. She would have to be more careful.

"Huh?" Lok shook his head, having dozed off a bit while on the wagon. "Oh... thank you." He said, taking the chunk of chocolate. However, it would quickly become apparent that he wouldn't need the chocolate to wake up, as he quickly found himself being propelled at high speeds on the wagon. Lok quickly found himself gripping onto the side of the wagon, nearly losing his grip on the side as he let out a scream. The chocolate, with a sizable bite on it, went flying through the air as Lok prioritized himself over it.

Eventually, the cart slowed down enough for Lok to be able to hear everyone else. After letting out a bit of heavy breathing, Lok spoke up. "Well... I guess this is one way to travel the world." He said, stumbling over the side. As he looked down the side, he immediately pulled himself back into the wagon, ghostly pale. "Oh we're... we're really high huh?" He said, letting out a nervous chuckle.

Nine was grinning as they had gotten into the basket. He had only ever used Quincy's service to deliver mail before, and so this experience was as new for him as it was everyone else. Sitting in the back, Nine looked to Kayla, grabbing onto the edge at her behest. As Quincy gave her debriefing on what it was she actually did, Nine felt the wind around him rush at unbelievable speeds as the Dragonite bolted through the sky. Nine could barely tell where he actually was due to the speed, only having his position reaffirmed by the sudden weight of the ghost girl being shoved into him. Holding tighter onto the edge, Nine managed to finally catch his breath as they moved to a steadier pace. A wide smile on his face, his hair windswept far out of its normal resting place, Nine seemed to be having the time of his life. As Gwendoline scolded him, Nine couldn't help but chuckle and say, "and miss out on this?" His smile turned into more of a grin, noting how close both he and Gwen were to each other. While he thought she wouldn't be amused by this he merely said, "sorry, sorry.'

Looking over to Lok he called to him, saying, "you said it. Man, I never would've imagined when I set out I'd be able to fly through the clouds like this one day. Makes you wonder what it's like to be able to fly all the time, right?" Looking over to Kayla he asked, "have you ever taken this kind of ride before?"

Seeing the Skuntank lunge towards her, Marie was powerless to avoid the attack. Both the poison running through her and the damage the other cannibals had already inflicted were beginning to take its toll on her, and she was hardly able to move out of the way of the attack. However, as the Skuntank's body seemed to seize up, the fright that ran through the girl seemed to recognize that flight was impossible. And so, as both her body and necklace started to shimmer with a blue glow, the girl unleashed a powerful torrent of water out of her mouth, shouting as she did so and striking the Skuntank dead on. The force of the water, pushing against the cannibal's chest, forced it off its feat and knocked it onto the ground, knocking it out.

"Huh?" Marie, surprised at the strength of her own water gun, before realizing that she didn't have much strength in her legs left. Falling backwards, the girl merely hit the ground with an, "ow." Trying to catch her breath, the girl merely lay there, saying, "I don't think we should sleep here."

The cannibal assaulting the group had stopped moving. Seemed that Nani's Thunder Wave had come in handy after all! Everyone else seemed to stop too, if only for a very tiny moment before Marie suddenly let out a powerful blast of water onto the Skuntank, finishing him off. She also seemed just about finished, as the former Popplio fell onto her back. Ouch. Nani headed over to her to make sure she was alright.

"I don't think we should sleep here."

"Good thinking." If these guys got back up, that would be bad news. Nani leaned over, holding her hands out for Marie to help her back onto her feet, and turned her face toward the boys. "You two don't mind a bit more walking, right? We're already awake now after all."

Randy huffed, as he watched the Skuntank fall, groaning slightly as he stood up straight from his slouched position. He glanced over at Marie, who hit the ground and landed on her back. It was obvious this surprise attack took a toll on everyone.

"I don't think we should sleep here."

"Good thinking. You two don't mind a bit more walking, right? We're already awake now after all."

"N-Not like we really have...much of a choice..." he sighed, moving over slightly towards where Keanu was. "...as much as I hate the rain...gotta be thinking b-bout you all's safety too. So...g-guess we'll move on." Randy crouched down and nudged Keanu's side some. "Oi...Keanu...you still alive and kicking...?" he asked, still nudging him. "If you are, try and blink twice."

Ari was happy. Mac would get to eat! Which meant she wouldn't complain about being hungry! Which meant he didn't have to listen to her! Score! But instead of being grateful, the Helioptile proved once more why she was still a child. Ari shook his head at her. How was it that he was younger than the electric type but he still acted way more grown-up than her?

The nice gijinka gave a small laugh behind her hand and turned back towards Ari and Kazo.

Ari grinned. "Well I won't turn down another bowl," but then looked at Kazo. What if he was hungry too? The dragon was bigger and probably needed more food. "What about you, Kazo?" After hearing the question, his expression became a little sadder, as he thought for a bit before replying. "No, you're fine. And well, when I left home I wanted to become strong and make my family proud." He paused. "I still do. But I also found other people who I want to make proud too." He smiled at Mac and Kazo.

Easter couldn't say he was surprised by Brooke's reaction. No, not surprised at all. In fact, he could say that he himself was more than a little annoyed at the idea of parting from Dora, and it had to be ten times as bad for Brooke, who had practically raised her--at least for a while. He glanced at the fire type, unsure whether he approved or disapproved of her outburst. He could understand why she did it, but it was always good to be careful in situations such as these. He looked at Denku in approval. The Pupitar was smart, or at least had good instincts. Still, it seemed like the guards would let them go with Dora for now, so that was something.

They set off again, and Easter was ready for a strained, if quiet ride when he sensed somebody staring at him. Glancing out of the corner of his eyes, he saw it was one of the soldiers. He looked tense, but he wasn't hostile, though he was a little red in the face--ah. Well, well...he could use this, couldn't he?

"Hello hello," he greeted, tone light. "So, I was curious...going by your armor, you're a soldier for Merm? That must be a tough job."

The Lanturn puffed out his chest a little. He probably thought it made him look manly and cool, but to the Sylveon, he just looked silly. "Yes, I am. And it's tough, definitely tough, but someone has to do it to protect Merm."

"Oh wow," Easter simpered. "You're really dedicated. I've always admired that."

"R-really?" the other blushed. "W-well, I'm glad to hear that. I've always tried to do my best."

"Yes, and I see it paid off," the Sylveon leaned a little closer, close enough the soldier could detect a faint whiff of sugar and strawberries.

The water type gulped, mind blanking when one of the hair ribbons trailed over his leg. "I, uhh, yes, yes it did." This close, he could safely say that those eyes matched the color of the sea around them. Oh gods, what were they talking about again?

"So admirable," the fairy type murmured. "I've always looked up to soldiers. They work so hard, but never really get the...attention they deserve." He tilted his head up toward the other man, batting his eyelashes coyly. "I would love to hear more about your exploits...sir," he appended the address with a breathless sigh.

And with that, the man started to sing like a Chatot.

Keanu was right. It didn't take long before the others had finished off the remaining cannibals. He heard the others talking, but didn't bother reacting. The ground was so comfortable after all...

Except then Nani addressed him. Or at least included him. "You two don't mind a bit more walking, right? We're already awake now after all."

"N-Not like we really have...much of a choice..." Randy sighed, moving closer to Keanu if the sound and vibration of his footsteps were any indication "...as much as I hate the rain...gotta be thinking b-bout you all's safety too. So...g-guess we'll move on." The Pikachu felt a nudge in his side. "Oi...Keanu...you still alive and kicking...?" The nudges were still happening. "If you are, try and blink twice."

"Ngyaah," Keanu opened his eyes and blinked three times to be difficult. "'M alive," he groaned. "Barely. So what's the plan? Moving? Can't we just stay here?" he flopped over on the ground like a Magikarp.

"Trust us... we understand completely. You're blinded by your sense of 'justice', we understand that perfectly." Scarlet said, leaving the area soon afterward.

Before Veronica could reply, the combined water and electric attack hit her, causing her to jerk uncontrollably for a couple seconds, allowing the arrows to hit home as well. Gritting her teeth, the Godslayer kicked up another gust of wind, and with the enhanced speed flew toward Taiga, releasing a Cross Poison from point-blank range. "Blind? No, I am not blind. I just opened my eyes." The woman retreated and stared out at the group, her eyes assured and austere. "It is you, who walk underneath the shadow of the legendaries, who have been blinded."

Team Showdown - Southshore Forest

Taiga let out a smirk, as all the attacks converged onto the Crobat.  Her spasms looked painful, but that was the mark they were going for.  What was even better is that Scarlet managed to actually get out of the way.  Surely she might've been a goner if all three attacks had landed, but it was a miracle she got away without a scratch.  Although, even with the multitude of attacks, the Legend Killer almost seemed barely phased.  She made a mad dash towards Taiga.  It was almost like slow motion, and she couldn't even react.  She wasn't even half as fast as she needed to be to avoid this attack.  The giant purple cross hit her from behind, sending her flying along with the attack until it promptly exploded further away from the group.  It hurt, a lot, almost as much as one of Groundon's punches.  But she could feel something under the skin start to seer.  It was a feeling she hadn't felt in quite some time...she'd been poisoned.

"Fufufu...lucky hit..."  Taiga tried to laugh it off, but the pain already started to settle in.

"Blind? No, I am not blind. I just opened my eyes.  It is you, who walk underneath the shadow of the legendaries, who have been blinded."

"What'd you say?"  Taiga said, almost wheezing.  "I don't walk under anyone's shadow, ya hear me?!  My choices are my own.  No one tells Taiga the Terrible what to do."  A wide grin traced her lips, from cheek to cheek.  "But you're takin' orders from someone, huh?  Gotta boss?  I'm sure if you kill all of us, you'll just be underneath their shadow, eh?"  Taiga fell down on her tail, the consequences of that last attack still coursing through her body.  "Aren't you just a bloody hypocrite!"

"And what of you two? Did you eat your fill? You're both so very skinny!" Kazo looked down at his stomach, patting it a bit. Was he really that thin? "I heard you were adventurers of some sort that sounds like an awfully dangerous thing for a group of young Gijinka like yourself. I wonder, what drove you to take up such a risky endeavor? Surely you must have homes to go to." She then brought a hand to her face and gasped. "Oh, I apologize if I struck a nerve. I'm afraid I can be rather nosy at times."

"Well I won't turn down another bowl," but then looked at Kazo. "What about you, Kazo?" After hearing the question, the young cub thought for a bit before replying. "No, you're fine. And well, when I left home I wanted to become strong and make my family proud." He paused. "I still do. But I also found other people who I want to make proud too." He smiled at Mac and Kazo. Kazo chuckled and rubbed Ari's head.

"Nah, I'm good," He answered before thinking about the woman's question. "As for a home... well... not really. I don't have anywhere to go back to... so I'll find a place for myself," He said with a shrug.

Denku stood in the corner of the bubble, just keeping an eye out. He rather not have some sort of... nasty surprise sneak up on them, so he'd go from that silly big brother to the watchful one. However, it seemed people didn't want to leave him alone. One of the guards approached him, and began to ask him questions. Things about his clothing, about how dangerous he appeared, things like that. Denku chuckled and shook his head.

"The mask just happens to look cool," He said as he tapped the side of it. "I have it on for medical reasons. As for my cape, well, I used to wear a scarf, but it didn't help much against the cold or the winds of the desert, so I upgraded to it. Never sacrifice practicality for coolness,"

Team Showdown, Day 30, Southshore Forest

"Why are you all talking so much?" Isole said. "We just have to fight, right?" She once more took the form she had earlier, when Taiga had to drag her into battle, of the mini snowstorm. However this time she moved towards the Crobat. The move reaching a surprising speed as an orb of ice in the center slammed into Veronica's ribs from the left side. Isole slipped out of the form and raised an arm, preparing to launch a Thunderbolt.

As the Rotom moved, Zygarde let out a snarling noise and, body glowing a purplish color, stomped towards Veronica, aiming to unleash her Outrage on the swift woman.

Team Karaoke, Day 33, Juyu

BGM

Gwen nearly dove off of Nine, face red and stammering her thanks for catching her. She stiffly floated next to Lok, casting one more awkward look back at Nine, and looked over the edge.

"Oh." Was all she could say at first. They really were. And, even though they had slowed down, the ground beneath was passing rather rapidly. "She's so fast..." Gwen muttered. "I bet we'll be back home really soon like this right?" She said to Lok. "I wonder what we should do first. I bet your family is worried about you so maybe we should visit the first." The closer they got the more nervous Gwen felt. She had no idea how her parents would react to her traveling with Lok and Nine after all.

"Are you all from Ghost Town?" Quincy shouted behind her towards the two. "I never been there really before. No one sends any mail to or from there. Wonder why that is...hey hey you two seem nice I heard people there liked to kidnap people though you aren't gonna try and kidnap me are you?" Despite the topic the girl's chipper tone didn't waver one instant.

"have you ever taken this kind of ride before?"

Kayla shook her head. "Never left Juyu...after moving there." She whispered. "But I'm used to moving fast...Wish I could actually fly though." She glanced over at Quincy and frowned. "What happens if you hit something though..." She seemed to think about this for a bit then shook her head. "Maybe the ground is better."

Team Alola, Day 27, Far From The Cave That May Have Been Dangerous After All

Over the next few days the group didn't encounter anything more dangerous than an occasional passing Gijinka who decided to take them on in a simple battle. Nothing nearly as life threatening or serious as what they have been getting up to. They would notice that the farther along they got the more smog and heat the air had. And soon they were able to see the outskirts of the city. Though calling it a city was a bit of a stretch.

It was mostly a vast assortment of stone houses, all various distances apart. Some merely several feet and some over a hundred feet from each other. Near the edge of the city, farthest from where the group was, there was the volcano. A large mountain-like object where smoke was spewing from. Occasional lava bubbled over and hit what seemed to be a trench filled with water that was dug around the structure.

Even from this distance they could hear the sounds of fighting and occasionally make out flashes of flames and electricity and other such things.

As they got nearer they'd first see a cottage, oddly not made of stone like the others, farther away from the city than any of the rest of the buildings.

Team Mac, Day 22, Ogren

The Miltank smiled at Ari and tried, and failed, the urge to scoop him up into a hug. "Oh you're just so SWEET!" She said, hugging him tightly against her chest. She looked over to Kazo, still holding the boy up. "That sounds like you're less on an adventure more looking for a home. Maybe this place could be it?" She suggested with a sad smile.

Then she looked towards Mac who had finished her food already. "And you?"

"Home...is whatever." Mac began. Then realizing that wasn't enough continued. "It's not like I'm attached to it or anything. It's a place. I just...don't wanna...be stuck sitting there doin nothing. And now...well." She gave a grin. "Now I've got to be a hero."

The Miltank looked confused and, finally, set Ari down. "What do you mean?"

Mac puffed out her chest proudly. "We might not look like much....they might not look like much, but we took on some real bad people already. People who wanted to take down Legends even! So...So I've got a lot to do still you know?"

The woman's face fell for a moment but then she laughed. "Oh, you must be kidding with me. There's no way you really did that, right?" She looked at the other two. "Right?"

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 33, Under the Sea

"I would love to hear more about your exploits...sir,"

The Lanturn practically swooned. "U-uh yeah. Well. It's it's not all that much really. There's not much trouble there usually we kind of are more ceremonial than anything. Parades and such....But sometimes we go out and fight the rabid Gijinka like those you all fought. The king makes sure we keep strong in case...Ya know." His eyes flicked upwards, in the direction of the surface. "B-But I'm sure that all sounds boring."

"I have it on for medical reasons. As for my cape, well, I used to wear a scarf, but it didn't help much against the cold or the winds of the desert, so I upgraded to it. Never sacrifice practicality for coolness,"

The other soldier grunted. "I see....I didn't need to know for any particular reason. I was just curious, you see. It's very, uh, different from most of the people down here. We don't have much illnesses. Except..." He glanced sadly at Dora, who had finally succeeded in climbing on top of Brooke's back. "She's a very special little girl you know that right?" the soldier said suddenly, his voice low, as he looked back to Denku. "Everyone was so upset when she had gone missing. Especially the king..." He bit his lip, as if stopping himself from continuing.

It wasn't much longer until they saw...the city

BGM

Encased in a huge bubble, which rippled and caused what seemed to be waves on its surface every once in a while, the city was vast. Larger than any on the surface baring Adarid City itself. And there were hundreds of colors. The buildings were laid out in such a way that they got taller the closer they got to the middle and they seemed to be made out of either coral or ivory, or both. Vast spires of white made up the middle section. The middle of which was wider and taller than the rest and seemed to be decorated in gems.

Outside the surface of the bubble were various, armored, Water type Gijinka on chariots being pulled by large seahorses. Accompanying them were fierce looking fish nearly the size of the chariots.

As they got closer the soldiers seemed to relax a moment before straightening up. The Chinchou moving the bubble slowed down and they approached the city with a respectful, slow, pace.

Nine couldn't help but chuckle as Gwen hurriedly rushed away from him. His own enthusiasm about their method of travel clearly present, the joyous smile remained plastered on his face as he looked over to Kayla as she started speaking. It didn't come as much surprise to him that Kayla had stayed put, given her job and choice of company, though he couldn't help but nod at her wish to be able to fly herself. As she wondered about Quincy aloud, Nine couldn't help but chuckle saying, "well, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Really," the Houndoom thought back to when they last saw her in Adarid. "I'd be more worried about what she hits then us anyway."

Marie grabbed Nani's hand as the Mimikyu helped pull her back to her feet. Groaning at the idea of walking some more, already exhausted, but didn't want to risk being eaten again. And so, with help from her traveling friends, the girl began walking through the arid lands to Trailsau. Days had passed and, though Marie didn't like the ruffians that they came across, ultimately left them to Randy to deal with. Eventually, though, they were able to see their goal over the horizon. The village itself was not the first thing to catch her attention, though. Instead, it was the mountain that towered above it.

Marie had heard stories of mountains that spewed flame from them from back home. In fact, she was positive there were even islands, though not the one she was from, that had such mountains on them. Yet, seeing the large spire of rock dripping molten flame down its side was awe inspiring, to say the least, to the young Brionne. Simply opening her mouth and letting out a "woooah," with her eyes wide as she looked at it. The girl continued to make her way towards the volcano, now with more purpose in her step as she looked to the others saying, "come on, guys!" Moving ahead, the girl eventually stopped as they were near the outside of the village, stopping as a rather out of place cottage seemed far removed from the rest of the buildings. Looking to everyone else she asked, "why do you think its here?"

The next couple of days, Randy was able to rest a bit easier. The surprise ambush by the cannibals did a number on everyone, so the next few days of recuperation was definitely needed. Though, there was now a bit more smog and heat in the air now...a feeling that, you guessed it, Randy didn't mind one bit at all. It was almost comforting to him.

That's when the group finally saw the city...or rather...assortment of houses with near the edge of it, a volcano. Just from the look of it, it instantly reminded Randy of Alola, which caused him to let out a small sigh. It was obvious this was the place...this was Trailsau.

"woooah, come on, guys!"

"Heh, guess it's finally time where we can get some proper rest...with the possibility of a bed." Randy chuckled, following Marie. The rests along the way were alright, but nothing beat the feeling of actually sleeping on a bed. Even if it was a mat, it was better than just the ground.

As he walked, however, Randy could make out what seemed to be flames and electricity off in the distance, with the sounds of fighting going along with it. Well the old Tyranitar did mention this place was lively with that sort of stuff...reminds me, I need to keep my word and find his family to check on them for him. he thought, though making a mental note to possibly join in on the fighting...if he was able to that is.

"why do you think its here?"

"It" in question, Randy found, being a cottage being far out from the others. Which was strange to him...why was that here and not with the others. He cleared his throat at Marie, glancing down at her. "Not sure myself...but be on guard regardless. Remember what the Tyranitar from the last city said about this place."

"you said it. Man, I never would've imagined when I set out I'd be able to fly through the clouds like this one day. Makes you wonder what it's like to be able to fly all the time, right?" Lok shook his head. Nine seemed to be handling this ride much better than anyone else it seemed, actually enjoying it to some degree. Lok was happy to just stick to ground level from here on out.

"I bet we'll be back home really soon like this right?" Gwen said to Lok. "I wonder what we should do first. I bet your family is worried about you so maybe we should visit the first." Lok turned to the other girl, the wagon having slowed down enough to talk. Lok nodded.

"I'd like that... it'd be good for them to check up on me." He simple said. "We should check up on your family too. I'm sure they're worried."

"Are you all from Ghost Town?" Quincy shouted behind her towards the two. "I never been there really before. No one sends any mail to or from there. Wonder why that is... hey hey you two seem nice I heard people there liked to kidnap people though you aren't gonna try and kidnap me are you?" Lok chuckled a bit, shaking his head.

"I think if anyone here is doing the kidnapping, it'd be the driver." He said, scratching the back of his head.

Southshore Forest Team Showdown

Scarlet instinctively dashed forward at Veronica after seeing her attack her friend like that. "Don't you dare lay another finger on her!" Scarlet shouted, her fist flying towards the Crobat. Everyone else seemed to be on a similar plan, charging in on her with their own attack - even Isole was getting in on the fight. When Scarlet realized that Isole was getting close to the Godslayer, she got worried. She stopped dashing towards the Crobat, getting in a crouched position instead. Her wings fluttered as she prepared to jump into the way of any attack towards either Taiga or Isole. Best case, Veronica would go for Zygarde - if anyone here could take a few blows from her, it'd be the legend.

Team Showdown - Southshore Forest

"Why are you all talking so much?  We just have to fight, right?"

"Tell that to her!"  Taiga said, pointing at the Crobat whilst also rattling her fist at Isole.  "She won't shut her yap!  So I gotta yell louder to make her!"  Taiga placed a hand on her knee, hoisting herself up to a standing position.  Her body ached from all the attacks she had taken so far, and was glad to have a moment to breath.  She did just that, in that moment, but when she breathed out, she could feel that same burning sensation inside her body.  "This ain't no more than what a Qwilfish can do just by pokin' ya!  No biggie."  She consoled to herself.  She was already low on stamina, so she had to put on the act.  The truth was that her time had already started ticking away.  "Why don't we end it, eh?!  The ol' Showdown Smackdown plus Legend!"

Taiga got into her runners stance, and bolted off with the timer clawing at the back of her mind.  She needed to get serious..these next attacks might be her last.  As soon as she picked up speed, she started gliding across the forest floors on water that she created beneath her feet.  Icy Fangs began to appear before her, as the attack went to chomp at the girls' wings, hoping to rip them from the seams.  The burning stabbed at her chest, but there was another feeling now.

She was faster.

"That sounds like you're less on an adventure more looking for a home. Maybe this place could be it?" She suggested with a sad smile. Kazo scratched his cheek and shrugged. He never thought about it before, and honestly, he didn't have the time to think about it now. The woman turned to Mac. "And you?"

"Home...is whatever." Mac began. Then realizing that wasn't enough continued. "It's not like I'm attached to it or anything. It's a place. I just...don't wanna...be stuck sitting there doin nothing. And now...well." She gave a grin. "Now I've got to be a hero."

"Oh, you must be kidding with me. There's no way you really did that, right?" She looked at the other two. "Right?"

"Well, taking on isn't definitely no joke, but it doesn't mean we actually beat them...," Kazo muttered. "Call us courageous fools, I guess,"

"I see....I didn't need to know for any particular reason. I was just curious, you see. It's very, uh, different from most of the people down here. We don't have much illnesses. Except..." The guard turned to stare at Dora, which caused Denku to blink. "She's a very special little girl you know that right?" the soldier said suddenly, his voice low, as he looked back to Denku. "Everyone was so upset when she had gone missing. Especially the king..." He bit his lip, as if stopping himself from continuing. Denku didn't press the issue, but he really wanted to point out that Dora didn't seem to miss them, nor did she want to come back.

However, they had arrived at the city, and Denku had to admit, he hadn't seen anything like this before. It was pretty awe inspiring, that was for sure. Still, he couldn't leave the bubble just yet, so he decided to just look around, not moving from his spot. What an odd city...

Location: Far from the cave (Team Alola, day 27)
Inventory: Good Rod, Antidote, Kasib Berry

Over the last few days, the air had been getting smoggier and hotter. Nani wasn't quite sure how to feel about it, but it eventually led them to civilization... for an interesting definition of civilization. The houses seemed to all be made of stone, but the smog certainly wasn't making seeing through her hood any easier. Hopefully they weren't here for long.

"Woooah. Come on, guys!"

Nani of course followed the rest of the group, looking at a building that seemed rather out of place compared to the others. Not because it was made of anything different, but because it was way off from everything else. That struck her as odd. Maybe whoever lived here liked to be left alone? If it were Nani living out here on purpose to be alone, she probably wouldn't take too kindly to strangers oogling at her house.

"Not sure myself...but be on guard regardless. Remember what the Tyranitar from the last city said about this place."

"Maybe the person living there wantse to be left alone?" Nani suggested. "Not seeing anything that sets it apart from those other places back there, aside from it being a bit further out."

Team Karaoke, Day 37, Near Alpha

Even with Quincy's incredible speed they still had to stop several times throughout their flight to rest before they made it to their destination. Thus it was four days of off and on flight. Near the end of it Gwen had decided that she didn't like this way of travel much at all.

Though there was no saying it wasn't efficient. Quincy dropped the group off at the edge of the land where the city was located, mentioning not wanting to set foot on the land itself if she could help it. Thankfully it was only a few hours walk to get to the city itself from the edge of the supposedly cursed land.

Gwendoline, coming from this area, didn't think it was cursed at all. That being said she could kind of see why people would think that.

The land was grey. There were clouds continuously overhead and it was difficult to tell morning from night at times. The soil felt like ash and looked the part as well. There were some trees but none of them had leaves and most were simply scraggly stumps attempting to survive in a dead land.

No animals moved around except for the occasional lizard and some underground creatures that fed on said lizards.

The strangest part was how separate it was from the rest of the world. The spot that they stood now was grassy and alive. Yet simply three feet ahead the land suddenly...died.

Gwendoline smiled at Kayla and Nine. "It's nothing to worry about, really, there's plenty of people who live here just fine. I came from here after all."

With that she and Lok floated over the clear line between the normal land and the territory of Alpha and Omega.

And that was when they both would be flooded by a host of memories, all at once, overwhelming them and causing Gwendoline to pass out.

----

A dream.

She was dreaming.

Or was it a nightmare?

She was in darkness. Everywhere she looked the same darkness. Until a figure emerged. Only noticeable because they were darker than the darkness itself.

A voice. A deep voice. A frightening voice which somehow soothed Gwen to hear it. "You have returned." It said.

"Yes, master." Came her immediate response. She knew who this was. She knew who she was. She knew why he was here.

"This group...is it all you could muster? I sent you to bring us allies. Are they strong enough?"

"I am unsure." Gwen admitted. "They are strong. But few. There were more. More that were ideal for facing our foe. But they left. Had I remembered I could have convinced them to stay."

"You know why that's impossible. Now, child, have you come to a decision? About the state of the world? Is it not as grim as I said? What have you decided?"

Gwen thought.

A world of pain

She thought of a librarian, who was more than simply a librarian, seeking to kill a legendary trio despite the risk to a group of people shoved into a pit by those in power.

She thought of an Altaria who, instead of showing mercy, murdered a woman without attempting to understand.

She thought of a library burned down in a war between gangs while the authorities did nothing and the people suffered.

She thought of a battle between a legend and a single man which destroyed an entire city.

She thought of another city, destroyed by the passing vengeance of someone simple because they could.

She thought of a Legend, sacrificing herself to try and fix what a single person caused.

She thought of a scared girl who had taken the wrong path. Who was driven away instead of loved.

She thought of friends whom she had met along the way.

And she wondered if that could possibly make up for all the terrible things in the world.

"I've made my decision, my lord." Gwen said at last. "I choose..."

---

Gwendoline woke up to Kayla hovering over her, a look that she could only assume was concern on her face, and smiled. "I am alright. Sorry for worrying you all." She stood up. "I'm not sure what happened. But I think I'm okay now." She glanced over at Lok. She gave him a knowing smile and then turned to Nine instead. "We can get going now. It won't be long before we reach Alpha. Oh, I'm so very excited. Absol-utely so!"

True to her words only a couple hours travel, though it felt longer for Kayla and Nine given the lack of anything, until they saw Alpha. The city was surrounded by a wooden fence, only waist-high, and there were no gates. Gwen hovered over the gate without trouble but paused. "Oh, I suppose you'll want help getting over won't you?" She giggled as Nine and Kayla would struggle, despite the shortness of the fence, to get inside until she or Lok helped them over.

The city itself was seemingly abandoned. The buildings were small, wooden, and seemed to be falling apart. Yet as they traveled through Nine and Kayla would hear voices whispering constantly around them.

Then, as they reached the center of the city, where a statue of a cloaked figure stood tall and proud, they were surrounded by dozens of Ghost types all greeting them happily and asking them for their names and asking how they were feeling.

They greeted Lok and Gwen warmly, welcoming them home, and asking them what they saw on their journey. It seemed each one of them knew the two by name, and Lok and Gwen both found that they, too, knew each of the people whom came to talk with them.

Team Alola, Day 27, Trailsau

While the group as a whole seemed to not be interested in going towards the unusual building Marie was a different story entirely. She strode up to it with the confidence reserved for elite warriors and children and knocked on the door.

There was no response, for a while, and then the door creaked open slowly. Just a crack.

BGM

Someone inside was looking out. Staring. Gazing into Marie's very soul. A stare that could shatter stone and melt steel. A gaze of pure, untouchable, power. Like something from a myth about a power that had to be locked away for centuries lest it break out and overwhelm the entire world in fire and brimstone. The kind of power that none in this world could ever hope to match or even hope to stand next to without being crushed by its sheer overwhelming presence....

The door opened.

BGM

Standing in the doorway, clutching the door nervously, was a rather average looking Flygon Gijinka. art by cdov34

"U-um, hello? Er, who are you? I don't want any trouble so whatever you need I'll give it to you okay?" He stammered. Glancing over at Randy he winced. "Just don't beat me up, please."

Team Showdown, Day 30, Southshore Forest

Veronica was now in a dangerous position. With Taiga moving in to attack her wings and Zygarde approaching from the front with Outrage in their movement. Taiga reached Veronica first but Zygarde wouldn't be far behind, going for a frontal assault on the Crobat with all of their considerable strength.

Isole hesitated. She didn't want to get in between either of those attacks. So she instead moved herself towards Veronica's side. If the girl managed to get out of the way of Taiga's attack she would use an Astonishing attack to ram the girl into Zygarde themselves. They had to make sure that even if the girl dodged she would still be put into a position to get hit.

The Godslayer noticed Taiga's approach and, anticipating their target by watching the girl's feral eyes, shifted to the side and released another Cross Poison at the Sharpedo to block her attack.
That was when Isole rammed into her and caught her off guard. The next thing she knew Zygarde was standing before her, bringing down both of their arms for a crushing blow.
