My Hero Academia: Year One [OOC/PG-16/Started/Not Accepting/Co-hosted by Yui and Chaos Sonic]

flat,550x550,075,f.u8.jpg

In the Year 20XX, a strange phenomenon happened across the globe.  The next step in human evolution had begun, and the first Quirk had been recorded!  A baby in China, born with the ability to become completely invisible!  Soon after, many more reports of children being born with strange abilities were also confirmed.  These abilities would be referred to as Quirks, and they would be heavily monitored by the government.  Naturally, the world became a paradise full of Heroes, but the term was more akin to vigilantes more than anything!  With crime also high on the rise, due to the lack of benefits for using Quirks for good, the Government stepped in to enforce law.  The Hero Licensing and Restriction Act was passed, ordering all vigilantes to become of use to the Government.  Many would sign away their rights, but would gain profit from the common folk as a public safety provider.  However, there are many who still refuse to conform to this Government ruling, and have been labled outlwas.

With the HLRA in place, this meant that new heroes would have to be taught proper ways to conduct themselves, if they wanted to become official licensed heroes.  And this is where your story begins.  The U.A. Academy has finally opened it's doors, and is accepting it's first Freshman class!  Will you be able to pass the test, and get your Hero License?

"The world does revolve around me, thank you very much."

Name: Suda Hiroharu
Age: 14
Gender: Male

Apperance

vcxmCQb.png

Height: 5'9"
Weight: 146 lbs

Bio

Suda was born into a celebrity family, his mother being the world wide sensation Sofia Hawk, a pop star from America who used her quirk Shine during performances to enhance them. His father, meanwhile, was a relatively obscure actor from Japan. The two met while Sofia was on tour in Japan and fell in love. Suda and his two siblings lived a rather pampered life. While living in a house with two performers, Suda's attention had always been glued to the heroes that he grew up watching on television. He saw the love and praise they got from the fans, and all the cool things heroes did. He knew from a young age what he wanted to do.

Being the middle child, Suda had always been a bit of a black sheep. It didn't help that his quirk, Pull, was not spectacular for either life style, unlike the quirks of his siblings and parents. This, along with his parents being absent and busy most of the time, left Suda neglected for most of his childhood. To add onto that, he never really got the media spotlight his siblings did. Still, he was able to make friends at school and have a more normal life compared to them. These friendships weren't enough for Suda, however, as they were very shallow and superficial since most of his friends were there because of his wealth, and he knew it. He wanted the spotlight badly, and he knew exactly how he was going to get it.

He was going to become a hero.

Personality

Suda, above all else, seeks to be admired by everyone around him. While one might think he has an incredibly large ego, it is actually quite the opposite; Suda doesn't just want everyone's attention, he needs everyone's validation. Not only that, but Suda tends to take things very personally, and holds grudges. He will also show off as much as possible because of this, whether that be with his wealth or through other means such as impressive feats or the ridiculous amount of time he takes to pretty himself up. Due to how much time he puts into thinking about himself, he is very self centered and has a hard time putting himself in other people's shoes.

Due to the above and in general being rather impulsive, Suda tends to act recklessly in everything he does. He tends to throw himself into danger as a means to prove himself to not only others but himself. While self centered, he does care for others at the bare minimum; after all, how is he suppose to have a crowd cheering him on if he doesn't have a crowd. This care, however, tends to be surface level.

Quirk

Pull

Pull allows the user to either choose a point in space within a 10 feet radius of the quirk wielder. A small, dark orb appears in the location after a second before pulling everything around it with strong gravitational forces. The closer something is to the orb, the stronger the pull is. The gravitational force of the orb has a maximum 30 foot radius, although the radius can be reduced if the wielder makes it so. The wielder can choose to be immune to the orb's pull or not when calling the orb, but not after. The orb will dissipate on command, or if the wielder cannot maintain it. The strength of the orb is variable depending on how strong the wielder makes it, with a limit, and the size of the orb is directly tied to its strength.

Creating these orbs can be taxing on the wielder's stamina, depending on the radius and the strength. It also requires concentration to keep an orb up - at the current moment, Suda can only maintain one orb at a time due to how much concentration is needed for him to keep it active, no matter how strong or how big the radius is. Orbs can only form in the air - if anything else is in the way the orb will simply not form. The orbs are solid. While theoretically the orbs could be moved while active, Suda is not able to do so currently.

"alright, Shoshiki, just keep yourself together..."

Name: Kojin Shoshiki (葬式 故人)
Age: 15
Gender: Male

Appearance:

Spoiler

SzEqWhr.jpg
Height: 181 cm
Weight: 112 kg
Shoshiki's body has what appear to be stitches running in lines all across it, tracing each of his joints. Though the edges appear ragged, they never bleed.

Personality:

Spoiler

Shoshiki isn't the typical sort of teenager to aspire to be a hero. While most of those attempting to enroll in UA are doing so out of courage, he is doing it out of fear. As it turns out, he is afraid of quite a lot. Storms, bugs, bats, the list goes on and on. But most of all, he is afraid of quirks. They haven't been around for long, but they have already created so much chaos that a school was being founded in an attempt to contain it. He's even afraid of his own quirk, though it's hard to blame him, given what all he is capable of. He does his best to contain his fear, and though the slightly intimidating appearance granted by his quirk helps, he often appears just as terrified as he really is.

Biography:

Spoiler

Shoshiki was born in the Kansai prefecture, in a small town whose name nobody would recognize. His family was one of farmers, and they had several large fields of various crops, sustaining themselves as well as providing a modest income. Even as a small child, Shoshiki could remember being afraid of the scarecrows scattered across their land. Even though his parents were quirkless, Kojin was lucky enough to be born with a quirk. Despite the great utility it granted him, he found it repulsive, even as he became more and more adept with it. His appearance made him too afraid to attempt social interaction with the quirkless people surrounding him, so he spent most of his time alone with the scarecrows in the bean fields, wondering why he was born as such a monster.

On one of those long summer days alone, when he was 12, he noticed a pillar of smoke coming from the center of town. Even though every fiber of his being was coursing with fear, he found himself running toward the source of the smoke, as if his legs moved without input from his mind. It wasn't long before he realized what had caused the destruction, as a man in a dark outfit and ski mask stood in front of a burning storefront, wearing an overstuffed backpack. Through the haze, Shoshiki could see that the man's hands were wrapped in flames, the same flames that engulfed the building he had seen nearly every day of his childhood. Because of his quirk, it was so easy for the robber to create such destruction. Kojin found himself frozen in terror, as the man he would remember as a "villain" fled the scene. Barely anyone in the town had quirks, and those that did were incredibly minor. Nobody was there to stop him. Nobody could have stopped him. This horrified Kojin. More than the stories of dangerous yokai he grew up with, more than the scarecrows and their empty stares, this was real. For whatever reason, it was now an age where people could be absolute monsters.

And Shoshiki Kojin was one of those monsters.

Despite all his fear, Shoshiki pushed himself to become stronger, so that nothing could scare him. It wasn't long before he learned of UA, a school where he could learn to overcome all of his fears, and become a true hero. Nobody knew just how dangerous a quirk could be, so he needed to be ready for anything.

No matter how afraid he may be.

Quirk:

Spoiler

Quirk Name: Patchwork
Quirk Type: Mutant
Though he appears normal for the most part from the outside, Shoshiki's body works very differently from those of most people. His nervous tissue is both incredibly durable, and prehensile. This allows him to separate the parts of his body along the various seams, extending himself outward. This allows for many applications, such as launching his hand outward as a grappling hook, extending his legs to run in giant strides, or even disassembling to fit through gaps a normal human could do no better than laugh at. These nerves can reattach themselves if severed, or extend on their own to wrap around objects. At the time of his enrollment in UA, his fine control is low, but could definitely be developed with practice.

He can retain control of a body part up to 100 meters away from the rest of his body (provided it remains connected to him) by spreading his threads very thin, but any significant force can cause the threads to snap unless they are woven together tightly, reducing his range in most applications to about 20 meters.

Miscellaneous Information:

Spoiler

Kojin much prefers to be called by his surname, Shoshiki

"Get out of my goddamn way."

kQts0g3.jpg

Name- Kessandra "Kess" Branwen

Age- 15

Gender- Female

Appearance-

L9u6i6e.jpg

Height- 5' 7"

Weight- 137 lb.

Personality-

Spoiler

Kess isn't a pleasant person to be around most of the time. Very quick to rise in anger and already abrasive to start, she's very vexing to deal with. She has a hard time speaking to people without getting into fights with them, given her propensity to treat them like she's better than they are. Making things worse is that this behavior usually manifests very aggressively, Kess even being willing to challenge people to a full-on fight or just move to throwing punches without warning. She has a hard time making friends and will be the first to assure everybody around her that she doesn't want any.

Seemingly incapable of taking a joke, Kess is impatient and frustratingly dense and stubborn. She doesn't think through problems very well, preferring to tackle obstacles head-on. Insults are the flavor of the day when Kess is around, and she is quick to escalate most situations. Flippant and not particularly caring about the emotions of people around her, and seemingly actively enjoying getting into scraps, she's hard to work with. She only pays attention to one thing: Anything that can cause her to become stronger, become a powerful hero. That is the one thing that Kess does not joke about, at all.

Kess considers herself a workaholic when it comes to the concept of being a hero. She has trained obsessively for years, trying to reach the pinnacle of her fighting ability and push her Quirk to the limits of it's power (though she unknowingly is wasting a large part of it's potential even with the explosive force she's capable of). Her fighting ability is one of the few things Kess likes about herself, and she takes it on herself to employ it to her best ability, often attacking like a wild animal, wild and unpredictable. Being a hero is what Kess wants desperately. She thinks that the best way to do that is to push herself to be the strongest, the best. To be more powerful than the people around her, and especially more powerful than her brother. She has a great deal of inadequacy and insecurity behind her cockiness and anger, and wants to be stronger than her brother Jason. More than anything she wants people to see him as she does: a spineless asshole who doesn't deserve the mantle of "hero."

Kess is harshly critical of anyone she considers not being properly motivated to be heroes. She considers the proper hero to be a mighty sword that can protect people against anything, to be something larger than life and worthy of admiration. To be someone who pushes themselves to their absolute limits to defend against the harshest, cruelest villains. Anyone not willing to do that is wasting their time. These people in particular she singles out. If they can't take her, the "properly motivated" one, they can't last against villains.

Biography-

Spoiler

Kess was born as the second child in her family, quite a ways behind her older brother Jason, a gap of 9 years between the siblings. Kess always felt she was far behind Jason in many more things than years. A talented, well-liked, smart young man, with a powerful Quirk capable of controlling the weather, Jason always seemed to have life easy for him. For Kess it was always harder. Their parents were not easily impressed, and her brother's natural ability made Kess catching up all the more difficult. She had harder times with school, making friends, everything that seemed to come naturally to her brother. "Why can't you be more like Jason?" seemed like the most repeated words of Kess' life.

She grew to resent it, especially when it became clear that even her Quirk wasn't as potent as his was. Kess started to gain a reputation around the neighborhood for breaking things by accident as he worked towards joining the tail end of the first generation of heroes, taking the name of Stormfront. Jason did very well for himself, impressing more experienced heroes right out the gate. Kess, meanwhile, seemed to be doomed to trail her brother even before she was ten. She grew resentful of him and her parents, especially as the success started to go to Jason's head. He gained a lot of confidence that manifested in ways that proceeded to grind on Kess' nerves throughout her life.

Jason grew to love what he called "the hero lifestyle." While heroism was not legalized for a portion of his career, he got off on the vigilante aspect. Even when it was legal he cultivated a personality as a daredevil type of hero, largely because it was a hell of a way to meet girls. Kess wasn't impressed by this behavior, and her parents never believed her when she told them about it. "How could you say that about your brother? Why would you do that?" It seemed he could now get away with being a less than impressive hero, something that rankles Kess to this day. She acted out against her parents, mad that they could be so blind to their son using his hero status.

"What's your problem?" he asked her one day when she finally got irritated enough to say something to him about it. "It's hero stuff... You wouldn't get it." She replied that she could be a better hero than he ever could be, though not with a lot of confidence. He just laughed and pushed her over with a gust of wind. "Sure you could. You can't even use your Quirk righ-" It was then that Kess punched him hard enough to break his nose and her own hand, the thunderous force of Overclock knocking him from his chair. She was eleven at the time.

Her parents grew apart from their daughter, appalled at what they had done to Jason. Kess drifted farther from her family, growing distant and angry in general, to the point where both sides feared being at home with each other and having to interact. Jason continued being a hero, his flashy and powerful Quirk allowing him to skate by and remain relevant in the public eye with minimal effort. Kess' parents grew to ignore their daughter, rarely speaking to her. Kess, meanwhile, decided maybe she COULD be a better hero than him. If he thought it was so damn easy. She spent her free time in the small collection of woods behind her family's house, training herself athletically and to release energy of the same intensity that shattered Jason's nose, broken bones be damned.

Three and a half years passed. Several shattered bones, several accidents where trees were sent toppling into nearby rooftops, many shouted arguments that ended with fist-sized holes peppered in Kess' bedroom wall. Jason seemed more popular and unreachable than ever. She was strong, she saw that now, her Quirk was powerful, wild and untamed, but she felt she couldn't stand out. But then the announcement. UA High. A school for heroes. Kess leaped at the chance, being among the first to take the entrance exam. While there are some amid the teachers of the new school that have heard of her through her brother and have low expectations, Kess intended to power through, with sheer brute force. And Kess readied herself. For UA. To go beyond.

"Maybe you didn't hear me... MOVE."

277HW2r.jpg

Quirk-

Spoiler

Quirk: Overclock

Kess is capable of increasing the power capabilities of her own body, in a sort of power-up fashion. This manifests as her strength and durability rising, and especially her speed. She is capable of extreme feats of athleticism when using her Quirk, such as dashing above Olympic speed and being capable of feats of strength well beyond those of a teenage girl, such as knocking over trees or even breaking through some walls single-handedly, and being capable of ludicrously high jumps and other acrobatic feats that would be impossible without Overclock. This is because her Quirk enhances the "twitch muscles" in her body, muscle fibers that can contract quicker for reflexes and quick bursts of force or speed, but use more energy to do so.

Her Quirk is utilized by Kess's body conducting electricity and dispersing it through her body, though she doesn't realize that's how it works. It increases the force her muscles can create, essentially using Kess as a battery to enhance her physical prowess. She has a poor control over it currently due to her misunderstanding of how it works, and currently is only capable of drawing large spikes at a time, with no real finesse. Even then she is incapable of using it in any other way outside her body, with only small occasional electrical discharges that are hard to notice. She also bears a partial resistance to electrocution because of this, a resistance that is growing ever so slightly.

Downsides-

While her physical durability is increased when using Overclock, that only gets her so far, especially with how aggressively she fights. She's snapped her legs before purely from kicking things with that much force, her own power overriding her defenses, even managing to shatter multiple bones in her hand while wearing protective gloves. Pushing her body like this is also gradually wearing it down, Kess already having occasional spikes of pain in joints and ligaments more common to women far older than she herself even at 15, and could very easily grind her body to the point of uselessness in a few years.

She is also very poor at controlling it when she gets mad or frustrated, which is what caused her to almost lose out on admission to UA in the first place. This often causes her to hurt herself or others that she is around in stressful situations. The fact that Kess' Quirk is actually incorrectly classified and she is unaware of the electricity her body is generating makes this all the more dangerous to people around her who get on her bad side, with those people risking mild electrocution.

Her body can only generate so much power, and with fatigue (which comes quickly to Kess with how little care and strategy she uses while employing her Quirk, and the miscellaneous discharges she sets off when upset, essentially wasting power) she can quickly tire out. Kess often uses this as an excuse to try and end the fight in one shot, doing further harm to herself in the process with her recklessness; Despite her bravado, she is much closer to a glass cannon than she is willing to admit. Rest and relaxation (two things she's very bad at taking) are the best ways to restore power. It also greatly accelerates her metabolism, causing Kess to often have the appetite of a large horse.

She is also unaware of any additional uses or dimensions her Quirk can have, since she is unaware that she is enhancing her body with electricity.

Theme-

Alternate-

Battle Theme-

  • Kess' unique first name is a result of a typo on her birth certificate.
  • To her eternal confusion, electrical devices often short out around Kess because of her Quirk discharge.
  • Kess' blood type is O positive.
  • Kess' birthday is May 17th
  • Favorite food- Pork pad thai

Personality

Spoiler

Taro has a deep passion for magic since he was small, even to put on his own talent shows to impress his family. It grew more so when he discovered that he had a quirk to do such tricks as the top professionals do. However, he is a trickster at heart and would often take advantage of penurious people for his own gain through his subtle craft. Nevertheless, he is kindhearted towards those depressed and lonely as he finds joy in bringing laughter and joy to them with receiving only applause and cheer as his reward. Taro is calm and collected as stress leads to mistakes, however, he tends to not like those who think they know better than him. He is smart and won't hesitate to correct those that contradic his thinking.

Taro walks with a slight limp if you watch close enough, but doesn't want to admit it. He keeps a majority of his personal items stored away, mainly his simple magic items like cards.

Biography

Spoiler

Magicians are a site of wonder and excitement to many who watch them perform on the big stage with the bright lights and color that make the experience, magical. Young Taro, at the age of 5, had such an experience when his family took a trip to America and saw professionals at work, both on and off stage. After coming back, he started to study videos on the internet, read out of beginner manuals, and whatever he could get his hands on, and would put on small shows for his family and close friends.

Around 7, as he was practicing with sleight of hand, he found the most peculiar thing happen before his eyes, the dining table before him seemed to have vanished after touching it. Taro's parents were startled by this notion that they were worried for his wellbeing. So, after a few more incidents along to the hospital, they found that Taro had a Quirk. After a few weeks of doctor visits to figure out his quirk, he was released and became inclined to use his newfound ability in his magic acts. However, he was warned to not use it freely as he may accidentally harm others, including himself as misuse of an unknown power may lead to disaster. It was his quirk to what he wanted with it, mixing it with magic would be a good way to manage his power, right?

Years passed and he had a good feel for his quirk, even discovering he can put his compressed objects in any space on his person that only he can access. Nevertheless, he felt inclined to try for something big, maybe the family car. At the age of 10, Taro successfully compressed the car and like any kid, he quickly grabbed the vehicle, put in his pants pocket, and ran inside to show his parents. . . or so he would've liked to. As he approached the door, a sudden burst of energy erupted and the car flew out of his pocket, breaking a majority of his legs and a few other bones in his body. Taro was left broken and torn thinking his magic career was over as his parents rushed him to the hospital.

After the incident, he was put under watch as his body recuperated for the next year and a half and restricted his personal use of his quirk until then. The time at home gave him time to reflect on what he should do with this quirk of his, as it was dangerous to himself. However, he still had his dream of being a magician as his main goal, though he needed to carefully train it if he wants to use his quirk effectively. The opportunity arose as his parents heard of a school starting up to train youth with quirks, this was the chance of a lifetime to attain his dream, maybe even more.

This was a time to shine! UA is his main stage and the world is his audience! Let the show begin!

Quirk

Spoiler

Name: Pocket

Type: Emitter

Taro is able to fit objects of any size and matter into small spaces, such as pockets and knapsacks, by compressing them in size, mass, and freezing them in place with physical contact. The pros and cons of the quirk depend on 4 factors of the object's Size and Mass, Static/Dynamic Force, and Compositional Matter.

  • Size and Mass (Mass Overpowers Size)
    • Small (Roughly from a foot to 2ft or up to 22 kg(about 50lbs)) - Easy to manage and fit multiple objects in 1 space and can hold them indefinitely
    • Medium (2ft-ish to 10ft or from 22kg to 136kg(about 300lbs)) - Can Pocket from 1 to 5 things in one space and can hold them either indefinitely, if on the smaller side of medium, to an hour, generally, on the heavy end
    • Large (10ft to 40ft or from 136kg to 453.5kg(about 1000lbs)) - Pushing the limits of his max capacity where can only fit 1 item in space and they have a limited time holding of 10 to 30 minutes
    • X-Large+ (40ft and beyond or 453.5kg and beyond()) - These have limited time within a space as they will burst out of their confines and go back to their normal state after a set time between 10 to 30 seconds. However, objects such as buildings and like such cannot be Pocketed at this juncture of his abilities as they will immediately break free
  • Force
    • Static - Easy to manage and easy to pick up
    • Dynamic - Taro can stop fast moving objects and pocket them but has the risk of getting hurt if he attempts of catching something like a runaway car since he needs to physically touch them. If he is successful in doing so, he can hold on to it for about a minute or 2 before it breaks out of his control breaking forth from its confinement. When the object is released, whether it be from himself or the time limit, it will regain its momentum from release
    • If he throws the object, it will gain extra momentum from the throw added to its velocity
  • Matter
    • Non-Organic - Can pocket all non-organic objects. Chemical and energy objects, such as fires or liquids, cannot be Pocketed unless they are projectile based (such as a fireball or lightning strikes)
    • Organic - Living objects, especially humans, cannot be Pocketed. However, fallen trees, even ones currently falling, and such like foliage that have died can be Pocketed

Overall, Taro can pocket from 30 small objects to 1 large/X-Large object at a time and can grab any of them from any space on his person, mainly from his clothes like up his sleeve, pockets, etc. Taro gets hand cramps when he uses his quirk to much.

"Peace be with you, friend!"

Name: Katsurou Yamauchi

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Spoiler

8599f400b0d8f554ce501064f6a0c3df82405568

5'8", 142 lbs

Personality:

Spoiler

Katsurou is a jolly soul with an irrepressible spirit, always eager to help others in whatever way he can. Despite his harsh upbringing and his banishment, he is eternally grateful for what he believes is a second chance given to him by God, using his abilities to protect the innocent and banish greater evils. While Katsurou resents the cult that declared him an abomination, he still maintains much of his faith and practices regularly, much to the amusement or chagrin of everyone around him.

Katsurou, being without a modern education, tends to come off as an ignorant fundamentalist. A second look will reveal that he is surprisingly eager to learn, approaching his education with the fervour of a top student and keeping an open mind even if the subject greatly challenges his beliefs. However, his lack of worldly experience makes him naive and easily fooled by his fellow students, which he always tries to take in good humor.

When confronted with an evildoer, he will always attempt to talk them down, even in the most inappropriate of circumstances. An unrepentant idealist, he is always willing to give anyone a chance for redemption. However, when violence breaks out, he lashes out with lightning speed in an attempt to subdue the attacker before they can bring harm to others as well as themselves. Deadly force is something to be used as a last resort in Katsurou's eyes, only ever using it in the most dire of circumstances.

Biography:

Spoiler

Katsurou was born to a Fundamentalist Christian family who moved a small island off the northernmost shore of Hokkaido in an attempt to escape people born with Quirks. The particular sect of Christianity his family followed saw Quirks as the Mark of the Beast as written in the Book of Revelations, shunning modern society to prepare for the end times. Living in a small community of like-minded people, Katsurou lived a simple life full of prayer, free of any modern amenities or distractions.

Once a month, the community would send out a small group of people to gather the supplies that the village could not fish, weave or make. Katsurou was always eager to experience the modern delights of the nearby town and always volunteered to make these trips. It was in one of these trips to Wakkanai that he discovered his uncanny ability to move soda cans around in his mind. Upon discovering his abilities, he hid it from his family.

At first, he was afraid of his own power and prayed fervently for God to banish the demon that gave him his power. When solitary prayer failed to yield results, he eventually turned to the community for help. Katsurou endured many long and esoteric rituals performed by the community’s priest, each ending in complete failure. Out of ideas, the priest declared Katsurou a persona non grata and had him banished from the community. Despite his pleading, everyone in the community, even his own parents, callously turned their backs as he was sent to the mainland alone.

Katsurou wandered the streets of Wakkanai for almost a week until a kindly shopkeeper that noticed him sleeping in an alleyway and took him in. The shopkeeper managed to find and contact his uncle and fellow Quirk bearer, Hideyoshi Yamauchi, who lived away from the cult. Hideyoshi welcomed Katsurou with open arms to his own family, treating him as if he were his own son.

It was under the gentle tutelage of of his uncle where Katsurou learned to embrace his inborn abilities. It was a long and grueling process full of doubt and self hatred. At his lowest point, Katsurou had a vivid dream where he was visited by a blinding light, who told him that his Quirk was no mark of sin, but a gift from God to be used in service and good works in his name. Katsurou awoke from this dream with a renewed faith and sense of purpose, leading him to join the UA Academy to learn how to be a hero.

Quirk:

Spoiler

Flowing Metal: Katsurou has the ability to telekinetically move and shape metal to his will. Using this ability, Katsurou is able to lift metal into the air, shape it into objects of varying complexity, and form impromptu barriers. Katsurou is more likely to use his abilities defensively, but he has demonstrated being able to form metal shards and spears and use them to assail his foes with deadly efficiency.

The extent of his abilities depends on a combination of the density of the metal, his experience handling the metal, and his mental stamina. Generally speaking, the denser the metal, the more difficult it is for Katsurou to lift and shape it and the closer he must be to control it, with gold being almost completely inaccessible to Katsurou at his current level of ability. Using his ability constantly strains Katsurou, with over use leading to mental exhaustion and unconsciousness.

Katsurou is most proficient with controlling aluminum, so much so that he effortlessly carries a solid sphere of aluminum 30 cm in diameter wherever he goes. He can shape aluminum into objects as fine as a house key, control aluminum from up to 30 m away, and the metal flows like water when he is shaping it and using it in a fight, giving the name of his quirk. Katsurou is somewhat proficient with shaping iron and steel,  bending rear as if it were made of clay, but he finds it very strenuous to lift or shape it very far or fast. With most other metals, he can only lift small objects and cannot throw them hard enough to injure anyone.

Miscellaneous:

Spoiler
  • Theme
  • Katsurou has a tendency to avoid wearing a costume when performing heroic work, usually wearing his school uniform. This is intentional, as he feels wearing a costume would distance himself from the potential criminals he wants to reach out to.
  • He is a good Christian boy.

New character for this reboot.

Beetle of Justice

"The Heroic Beetle Man arrives just in time! Fear not, for justice will be served!"

Name: Herc Ulysses Coleo

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Appearance

qP8bpag.png

Height: 6`5 (195.58 cm)

Weight: 250 lbs (113.40 kg)

Personality

Herc is a firm believer in what he calls "Old fashioned justice". He believes one should help those in need, and do it with a large smile on your face, most of which were values he gain from his father, the original 'Beetle Man'. He is a friendly and outgoing sort, but isn't above quips and snark. In fact, he loves quips and snarks the most, especially those that give him the juiciest reactions, like those quick to anger.

Despite his friendly and joking nature, he is committed to coming a hero, and will work as hard as he can to become one. He is driven by his desire of becoming an ideal hero, and to discover why his father was ousted from the Super Hero Society.

He tends to rely on his natural toughness to get through fights, instead of taking any formal fighting lessons.

Biography

Spoiler

Herc wasn't the first person in his family to manifest a quirk. No, that was his father, a man who's very way of life shaped Herc into the man he was today. The two of them shared a quirk: Beetle, although it was obvious from birth Herc had a more advanced variant, with his body having much more beetle parts than his father. His mother also had a quirk, although she never seemed to use it, and never spoke about it. Only his younger sister didn't seem to have a quirk, making her the 'normal one' of the family.

Herc grew up in an American city, and was considered a bit of an outsider. While quirks were getting more and more common, rarely was there one that changed the human body so much like Herc's. Kids would make fun of him until they realized that being part beetle made Herc much stronger than them. After that, he was pretty much left out of things, left alone and forgotten.

He refused to let that mold him, however, instead looking to the exploits of his father as an inspiration. Every night, he would watch the news to see his father fight all sorts of crimes, from bank robbers to what people could call super villains. He even had an arch-nemesis, a man with a lava quirk. Herc would watch religiously,  and cling to what his father taught him.

However, around the time Herc was ten, his father disappeared from the news. In fact, it seemed as if he wouldn't go fight crime at all. Not only that, but besides a select few, all the Heroes that Beetle Man had met stopped associating with him. Herc had no idea why this was the case, and all his little sister could learn was that Beetle had done something taboo in the Hero community.

That only made Herc determined to become a hero and find out what happened. However, unlike back in the day, there were protocols and rules in place. So Herc worked his best to learn a new language, and get the grades he needed to convince his parents that he to could be a hero. All his work paid off, as he was sent to UA, a new school made specifically just to train heroes.

Now was his time. He'd restore the name of Beetle Man, while finding out what happened to his dad's reputation.

Quirk

Spoiler

Beetle: This quirk grants Herc several abilities found in the species of beetle. Instead of being limited to one species though, he is more of an amalgamation of multiple beetle species. It grants him many abilities, such as...

Super Strength: Much like a beetle, Herc is stronger than his appearance suggests. He's been shown to be able to lift about 10 times his own weight, allowing him to at least lift cars.

Flight: Herc has strong wings, allowing him to fly, but it's not a swift, graceful kind of flight. He is more like a helicopter. It also makes him burn so much energy that he can't do it for an extended amount of time.

Wall Climbing: This ability allows him to stick to walls and climb them, much like an insect.

Natural Armor: His skin is tougher than an average human, and his beetle shell on his back is even tougher. It allows him to take much more punishment than the average person, but even it has limits. If his shell is broken, it also takes much longer to heal than any other part of his body.

???: A mysterious skill that even he doesn't realize he possesses. It will manifest in a time of great need... or fear.

Miscellaneous

Spoiler
  • He likes fruits a lot, with grapes being his favorite.
  • Plays a little too much of gatcha games.
  • Theme Song: The Hero of Nature

I'm gonna use my Student OC (I have a Pro-Hero OC too), made after I actually watched some MHA episodes (my Pro-Hero OC was made before me actually watching MHA... I mean it).

Name: Yoriko Kitsunebi, a.k.a. Illusion Hero "Foxtrick"

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Spoiler

d87kfafyOw4jSjeDOi8deZXxOTFF0zSWyHtW0TBjl04ZBaO9bcYc3TxgOnTS8eiZa-sn72lXaDQ8Tq4Y8YWvjmpKhEz1Qgdto7kBIU3wtLtFRyjXQkbFwmzaQn-55xWD3A_-ByhM_rGPCNbDg7k5Q3vkCMeiK1VCdjOAIOqKUg9rkAWU7ClsmGccm3lkYa-O9jG99Cp8O_kvuYrcL5m5NPN6nzJApCZSJLoPdIpBXrqH7QeUOQqXwcn_e11O45-KR9GQ

Height: 1,40 m/4'7;

Measurements: 85C-65-83/33C-26-32

Weight: 47 kg/103 lbs

Personality:

Spoiler

Yoriko is, plain and simple, a good girl. She’s generous, kind and patient and never seems to be pissed or even slightly miffed. Her mentality can be summarized in “Prepare, know, then act”; she won’t act unless she has an idea of what she may face. This makes her perfect for exams as well as for certain tests she finds through, but also makes her unable to act upon being surprised… as well as have her take an hour to decide what to have for lunch. She can’t also be asked to personally choose anything, as she will think it thoroughly, even if it requires her to give a fast answer. She is also prone of being caught totally by surprise while she’s thinking.

Biography:

Spoiler

Yoriko’s life had been weird. To begin with, her grand-grand-grandfather had a mutant quirk that gave him and his family a fox-like appearance. Yoriko actually adopted the quirks of both of her parents (His mother’s fire-like illusions and his father’s limited teleportation), which combined to give her a pretty unique quirk. Of course, just like her mother, Yoriko looks like a golden fox, but her quirk is not related to it. It was more normal than she thought, though. There are a lot of people whose quirks are totally unrelated to their appearances.

Her quirk was a different story, as it’s not common two quirks combine so thoroughly. Yet her little sister is even more unique than her (her quirk is a mutant quirk that gives her wings; go figure), which actually gave Yoriko relative lenience in her life. She dreamed all her life to become a heroine, unlike most of her family, who didn’t actually went all the way to become heroes (while her grand-grand-grandfather was a villain himself), trying to be the first person in the Kitsunebi family to be a pro-hero.

Quirk: Trick Fire

Spoiler

Description: The ability to create portals between her exposed fur and a source of light. These portals take the form of dark red flares on her end and bright red flares on the light source’s end and can transport inorganic things from one end to the other.

Versatility:

  • Her portals work both ways, as she can take things from the other end of her portals.
  • Her flames are capable of transferring the glow and heat of the light source.
  • She can also use her flames underwater, as the fire is actually an illusion.
  • Her flames can actually work with energy and physical projectiles, acting as a good shield.
  • She can leave a flaming trail to portal things by waving her hands, feet or tail.
  • In order to use her powers, she can track light sources within the area of her powers.

Limits:

  • Unlike real flames, her fire is an illusion and has no offensive capabilities.
  • The light source she uses for her portals can’t be too far from her (around a mile or so is the limit), otherwise her portals won’t work.
  • She can’t transport any kind of organic material with her portals.
  • She can’t teleport anything larger than the fire she uses.
  • She need to constantly focus on the other end when she’s making her portals.
  • She can only create portals connecting her fur and a light source, so her power is limited.
  • She can only keep one portal open at the same time.

Miscellaneous: Her powers affect even what she's wearing, so her hero outfit is made of a material that acts like her fur to avoid any kind of accidents.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but the one end of her portal is a light source, and the other end is her fur.  So any object that comes into contact with a portal that starts at her fur, gets transported to the light source and vice versa?

Also it makes them a fox, for some reason?  And the flames are flames but not flames?  I think it's a bit too much for the second generation of quirk bearers to have such a complex quirk like that.

App of JUSTICE

Name: Diana Seigi

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance

__original_drawn_by_eternity_pixiv801282

Height: 5'10"

Weight: 149 lb

Bust: C cup

Personality

Diana is a lively and brave girl with a love for justice. With a grin on her face and her fingers extended in a V for victory, she tears through life with a love for new experiences and justice for all.

She has a quick wit when it comes to puzzles and debates, but she tends to be oblivious in day-to-day life, missing out on many social cues, due to her foreign upbringing. This, of course, carries with it a penchant for yelling in English. And rocking out to music in English. Basically, expect copious amounts of English.

The one thing she will not tolerate is unfair treatment of others, and she will do anything in her power to stop any injustice.

Biography

Diana was born in America, to a young American father and Japanese mother. Until the age of 14, she lived in California with her family, a happy little girl, although she had no quirk. While one would think that not being a "mutant", "freak", etc. would keep her from being made fun of, it actually caused the opposite. By the time she made it to school, quirks were more and more common in the world, and she was part of the minority in her grade. She ended up being a bit of a lonely child, with no friends to really call her own.

However, despite how much she got mocked and tormented by her classmates with quirks, how miserable it made her... She got to the point where she could not stand to see the others mocked. She began to stand up to the bullies, drawing attention to herself to draw it away from the others like her, causing her to be the main target. Any burns or scrapes they would have received were taken by her instead. And, despite the pain, Diana felt... good about it. She couldn't describe it, but it made her almost happy to be their hero. And so become their hero she did.

As the kids grew up, Diana began to actively fight back, getting more and more hurt each time. While the injuries never seemed to last too long, she somehow ended up on the short end of the stick, receiving the blame for what occurred in almost all of the incidents. All she had were her hands and feet, yet she got blamed for provoking the others, who somehow ended up more damaged than her. Eventually, one of these events led to her discovering that she was, in fact, not quirkless...

But the other girl was left in critical condition, and it led to Diana's expulsion. While her parents did not blame her for what happened, she could not enroll in any schools for quite a distance around, and they felt the only choice was to return to her mother's home, a Japanese farm. A change of scenery, fresh air, and routine work would be good for her. She tried to fight it, but her parents saw no other option, even if it meant her dad leaving his job. She felt like she had to start from zero, with a language she barely knew any of. And her grandparents saw her as a delinquent, much like she had been in the US.

After a few years on the farm and much learning of Japanese later, Diana heard of a new hero school opening. Seeing a chance to escape the countryside, on top of a chance to help more people, she applied with her parents' blessing. With a tearful and nervous farewell, they sent her off to UA, watching as their little girl strived to become a Hero of Justice.

Quirk

It's a spoiler. Duh.

Despite clear information not being known to many outside of her teachers and family, the basics of her quirk seem to entail greatly enhanced strength and movement speed, reminiscent of a superhero from old comic books.

Miscellaneous

  • THEME OF JUSTICE
  • Always wears her hair over her right eye.
  • She has difficulty writing.
  • While she can speak Japanese fine, she throws English in where she is unsure what to say, or if she doesn't quite understand what's being said.
  • She also uses English for fun, because it's what comes naturally.
  • more later maybe idk

Wholesome Batto

Name: Hibiki Himura

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearance:

akjf6b3.jpg
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 109 pounds
Wingspan (at the start of the RP): 2'4"

Personality:

Bright and inquisitive, Hibiki is someone who sees the world as a place full of wonder and joy, even if not everything about it is perfect. She's fully aware that it's not perfect - heroes wouldn't be necessary if it was, after all! - but that's why she wants to try and make it a better place, one little step at a time. Even on a dark and gloomy day, Hibiki will do her best to stay in high spirits and make the most of whatever comes her way. Perhaps as a result of this habit of seeking out the silver lining, Hibiki is also a notably opportunistic sort, and isn't the type to let special chances pass her by.

Biography:

Hibiki's parents often told her, "The day you were born, the heavens split open to celebrate your arrival." Born one rainy summer day in the southernmost reaches of Japan, Hibiki grew up the younger of a pair of twin sisters with a loving family. While technically identical twins, however, one of them had wings, and bat ears sticking from her head. Hibiki was born with a mutant-type Quirk, and was the first in her family to develop a Quirk at all. Her parents, while wary of Quirks, tried their best to ignore it and raise her like any other girl. Where Hibiki was, her twin sister Hikari was seldom far. At the age of four, Hikari developed a Quirk of their own. Hikari became able to emit light, while Hibiki's body continued taking on its bat-like qualities. Their abilities were different, but the twins were still very much one in spirit.

While it was simple enough for Hikari to just not use her Quirk and continue living normally, Hibiki was never given that luxury what with the wings and ears. However, she wanted to put her gifts to use somehow. Figuring out how was a challenge at first, but one day, it hit her, when she saw a hero dealing with some bad guys in person one starry evening. She wanted to be like that! Helping people with her Quirk seemed like a great idea, and the money and appreciation was also a nice little bonus. While Hikari didn't share her dream, it was fine. And best of all, a school had just opened up specifically to train heroes!

Hibiki trained what she could in the short time between deciding on her goal and the entrance exams for the brand-new U.A. Academy. While she wasn't as powerful as other students - she couldn't even fly, despite having wings - Hibiki's sheer effort and passion saw her get a passing grade. Without missing a beat, she went home, said her goodbyes, and packed her stuff, taking the train ride back to U.A. to live in the dorms.

It's not much of a first step, but being renowned as a hero that saves people in their time of need has to start somewhere, right?

Quirk:

Bat: Hibiki has a mutant-type Quirk that gives her various qualities of a bat! These include...

Wings: A pair of leathery wings sprouting from Hibiki's back! However, she's never actually used them, and so they're far smaller and weaker than they should be. It's speculated that exercising her wings will make them bigger and let her properly fly.

Bat senses: Hibiki's ears are much better than a human's, able to both withstand much higher levels of sound without damage and pick up on frequencies vastly higher than what the human ear can perceive. As something of a trade-off, however, Hibiki's eyesight suffers in anything more than dim lighting. She's virtually blind in broad daylight, but sunglasses can help alleviate this.

Advanced Circulation/Respiration: Having superior bat-like circulatory and respiratory systems means tiring Hibiki out is nearly impossible. These systems were meant to let her take on the taxing activity of flight for extended durations, but a convenient side-benefit is that this lets her do ground activities nigh-indefinitely.

Fangs: Hibiki's upper canines are longer than normal, and much like the teeth of a vampire bat, lack enamel, keeping them razor-sharp. These allow Hibiki to bite clean through the flesh of most animals and suck their blood. It seems her body reacts to ingested blood similarly to an energy drink, but she doesn't like drinking blood.

Bat screams: Much like a real bat, Hibiki is capable of unleashing her voice at incredible and outright dangerous levels, far beyond what a regular person is capable of. Additionally, Hibiki can emit sound waves at a much higher frequency than what human ears can perceive. These high-frequency waves are used for echolocation, which in turn lets her get a pretty clear picture of her surroundings, while her louder screams can be used as weaponized sound.

Misc

Favorite food is oranges. She'll eat them without even peeling them!

Although she and Hikari are identical twins, Hibiki is shorter by a notable margin. This lowered height is presumably a result of her Quirk.

Fiery Soul

Name: Valerie Clark

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance

Spoiler

Hp1cjyQ.png?1

Height: 5'7" Weight: 141 lbs

Personality

Valerie is an in your face high energy kind of girl. She doesn't have much concept of personal space and believes that everything must be done with VIGOR and DETERMINATION.

Not one to quit, ever, Valerie has been known to bash her head against a problem for hours rather than take an easier route just to prove she can. While she's a friendly person, and quick to extend a hand in friendship, she's not very good at actually following through on said friendship. In that when given the choice between hanging out and training she'll choose training every time. This stems from a couple points. One of those being that she's unhealthily obsessed with the idea of being a great hero, due to a feeling of guilt and strong desire to prove her worth, and the other being that she doesn't believe people have the ability to stick around so it's pointless to focus on something that's going to fade away or change.

Valerie is incredibly confident outwardly, and she believes she is inwardly too, due to a belief that a hero has to be indomitable and outgoing. However, though she is naturally outgoing, Valerie's confidence can easily be shaken if she doesn't succeed at a task no matter how hard she tries. It just takes her a long time to realize she won't succeed.

She constantly puts pressure on herself, sometimes unknowingly, and is never fully satisfied even if she completes a task or wins some sort of challenge. There's always more she can do and she'll immediately begin to think how she can get even better next time.

Biography

Born to a pair of Quirkless parents no one expected young Valerie to have any sort of Quirk. However when it was discovered her parents were concerned to say the least. Not having much money to begin with and only just starting a family the young couple suddenly had to deal with additional issues stemming from a child with a difficult to contain Quirk.

Despite this her parents always showed her nothing but love, and hid from her the struggled they were going through, while raising her. Eventually Valerie, who was quite observant for her age, realized how much they were going through and strove to make the best of her life as possible. She did sports, studied hard, and made a multitude of friends.

She was 13 years old when it happened. A group of criminals broke into their house with the intention of robbing the place. Under great stress and terrified for her and her family's life, Valerie's Quirk grew out of hand. What happened next she doesn't remember but when she woke up the house was burning and her father was dead.

Her life changed drastically from then. Where once she had two loving parents she now only had a single cold one. Her mother was no longer the fun and caring woman she remembered. Despair over her husband death leaving her an empty shell of her former self. While she tried not to intentionally mistreat Valerie she couldn't help but lash out on occasion due to her depression and her normal attitude towards her daughter became one of blame and dismissal.

Valerie knew she had to do something to make up for what she assumed was her failure to control her powers. She knew she had to do something to show that her being alive, while her father was not, was worth something. Her life was no longer just her own. She was not just a person but a HERO!

Quirk

Body Heat: Valerie's body radiates an aura of heat at all times. The size and temperature of said heat can increase with her level of activity and emotional state. Once she reaches a certain point the heat becomes something more physical and she can manifest and control flames. Though as this happens her body itself grows colder and, over time, less responsive as her body is actually emitting its own heat.

Miscellanious

-Too many themes to count

-Listens to a lot of music especially when training

-Parents had moved to Japan after visiting it on their honeymoon

-Wears as little as possible in order to easier release heat and also because she doesn't like feeling restricted

-Her personal training, both from her days of sports and after, focused heavily on stamina.

EDIT:

Lesnar Claypool - Sound Hero "Boombox"

character1.png
"Let's just get this over with."

Name: Lesner Claypool

Age: 14

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Height: 5’ 10”
Weight: 120 lbs
lRtMLYG.png

Personality:

Introverted but cooperative, Lez has no interest in social interaction but has accepted that communication is important. Regardless, he prefers to keep to his music and let the vibrations soothe him. Usually level-headed from exposure to arrogant people, he almost always has the urge to release whatever soundwaves are going through him into whoever bothers him while his headphones are on, however after several instances of getting into trouble, his management of his own “projection” on people has improved. In spite of his distant attitude, he values interpersonal connection when someone is willing to accept the way he is, resulting in a more open and goofy personality that he reserves for people who he trusts and respects.

Biography:

Lesnar has only known isolation in his youth. Born poor and raised by a drug-addict mother, he never knew his father and was left to be taken care of by his aunt after his mom was deemed unfit to raise him. As such, Lesnar’s life without real parents made him a basket case to his relatives, especially after the realization that he had a quirk. Since then, his aunt’s only involvement in his life was feeding him and giving him shelter until he was old enough to be let go. Once that moment came, she would grant Lesner an opportunity to learn and control his powers at UA High School in Japan, which she took the opportunity for him to leave her place for good.

Throughout the time he spent alone, Lesner learned to control his quirk after many incidents of breaking things from it. He would meditate in his sleep and train himself against abandoned buildings and run-down areas of town, eventually leading up to the ability to use it on criminals without severely injuring them. With that, people commended him for various acts of heroism, but he never stuck around for the attention it garnered. However, he never turned down money or a free meal given as thanks. In his free time he took major interest in Japanese media and culture, gradually learning Japanese through various animes and mangas leading up to the discovery of a school of superheroes, which was the only thing that his aunt gave him that he asked for.

Quirk:

Quirk Name: Amplify

Quirk Type: Emitter

Lesnar's body acts as a powerful amplifier for any type of sound. Once he hears something, the sound waves echo throughout his body and compound into potential energy that is stored within him, which can be released through special "speakers" embedded in his palms. The energy released has a variety of effects depending on the pitch of the sound, while its power/effectiveness depends on the volume of its origin.

In order to get the most out of his ability, Lez needs noise-cancelling headphones to block out all unnecessary ambient sound, including communication from nearby people and potentially an enemy coming at him from a blind spot. Additionally, he can only store energy for a limited amount of time before it dissipates, requiring him to hear more sound in order to regain it.

This new formatting dealeo is gonna take some work getting used to. I present to you: Almost a NEET

Name: Itsuki Watanabe ( 一己 渡辺 )
Age: 14
Gender: Male

Appearance:

ed690c74a5ce9077716f3660eda7abed490409f7

Height: 5'5" | Weight: 123 lbs

Personality:

Itsuki is as easy-going as one can possibly be. He's also probably as lazy as one can possibly be. There's really only so much that can describe him as a person: there's little he takes seriously in his day-to-day interactions, that one of the things he values most in his life is his ability to take a regular and lengthy nap, and that hey girls are pretty cute, right? Of course, seeing as deep-down he's kind of a gigantic nerd that'd rather not put the effort into making himself a cool and popular person he might have had a good chance with the ladies. At the very least he DOES shower, however, so that's a plus.

Deep down he is a kind person, but he's not one to really mind his manners and very much just says what's on his mind, often at the worst moments. When he puts in the effort, he can display moments of proper intelligence and maturity, but often needs quite the prompting to do so.

Biography:

Itsuki has been a slacker for pretty much most of his life. Through Elementary School and proceeding into Middle School, he's breezed through classes doing just the absolute most minimal amount of work possible. While his primary interests lie in video games, anime, manga, and arcades, his family was never the most well-off and meant that he wasn't often behind with his consoles and games, limiting his time at the arcades, or reading pretty much the cheapest of mangas that he could get his hands on.

All of this is to say that his life has been incredibly unremarkable thus far. Despite his tendency to stick his head into conflicts that he had little business in, these usually never amounted to more than scuffles at the arcade or a small fight on the street, never anything serious. Istuki never really went out of his way for anything, and never really wanted to anyways. Had it not been for his parents intervening, it's to be sure that he never would have amounted to much in his life.

Said intervention was this: that if he wasn't to pull up his socks and get into a good highschool and make something of himself, they would kick him out of their home. Both of Itsuki's parents were hard-working and fairly absent in his life, but had a strong belief in a good work ethic and making something of your life. When faced with the decision, Itsuki finally decided on what he wanted to do. Knowing his quirk, he figured he had a pretty good chance at being a hero and living the easy life.

Quirk:

Barrier: Itsuki is capable of generating and maintaining barriers of zero-point energy around his person. The barriers, not being made of matter, are unaffected by gravity and move according to his will. When light or physical matter comes into contact with the barriers, they are repelled with a force proportional to how quickly they were moving towards the barrier and how strong the barrier is itself. The barriers, when forming an enclosed space, are airtight, and if the force of an impacting object exceeds its strength the barrier will be broken. The barriers take mental focus and effort to create and maintain, proportional to their size, strength, complexity of shape, and how they are being moved.

  • The appearance of the barrier, its colour and opacity, is influenced by its overall strength (closer to white/reflective and more opaque means stronger). Other colours are influenced by Itsuki's mood.
  • The solidity and clarity of the barrier's shape is also influenced by the mental focus and effort.
  • Barriers cannot be moved beyond, or made larger than, a bubble with a radius of one-meter around Itsuki's person.
  • The barriers, not being made of matter, lack friction.
  • Light is the only form of the EM Spectrum that is affected by the barrier. Other waves, as well as thermal energy, can go through.

Miscellanious:

  • If given the chance, Itsuki's eating habits would be awful all the time and the only vegetable he would eat would need to be deep-fried and salty.
  • Itsuki, despite what he will tell others, actually prefers super sappy shoujo romance over shonen action
  • His hair and eyes are naturally green thanks to his quirk

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but the one end of her portal is a light source, and the other end is her fur.  So any object that comes into contact with a portal that starts at her fur, gets transported to the light source and vice versa?

Also it makes them a fox, for some reason?  And the flames are flames but not flames?  I think it's a bit too much for the second generation of quirk bearers to have such a complex quirk like that.

Yes to the first question (it's basically a moving portal), not to the second (only she is a fox) and yes on the third (the flames are an illusion in that form)

Spoiler

Name: Misu Yoshino

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Spoiler

senran-kagura-2-daidouji.png

Height: 6'0"

Weight: 186 lbs

Personality:

Spoiler

If there's any one thing that Misu loves, it's getting into fights!  Whether it be the lip flapping, or the fist throwing, she loves to get a rile out of people and smack them down if they get too uppity.  Although she's not very smart, she usually finds a way to make people help her out with studies, usually with threats of violence against them or their loved ones.  Besides studying, she likes doing things in her own way, usually on her own.  She hates being bound by other's rules, and especially dislikes authority figures like cops and teachers.  However, if there was one thing Misu loved more than fighting, it would be her own family.  She would do anything for them, even if that meant going to school on a consistent basis.

Biography:

Spoiler

Misu's Quirk had developed at the early age of 4, like most other kids who would be born with quirks.  It was a rather simple quirk, but her parents were so proud of her.  They were both Quirkless, but they soon became worried of what the government might do to her one day.  Her father was a conspiracy theorist, who worked for a local newspaper, and her mother stayed at home to raise her.  They made it by somehow, but someday Misu wanted to help support her family with her powers!

Misu started out as a nice enough girl all throughout her early school years, but that all changed when she started to grow abnormally tall.  She would soon be made fun of for her abnormal height, and none of the girls decided to be friends with her.  Misu didn't quite understand, and the sudden change in everyone's behavior made her experience a lot of emotions all at once.  She didn't like them treating her different, and the main emotion she experienced was anger.  After a while, she started lashing out, hitting some of the girls who had bullied her for a bit now.  After realizing she was so much stronger than them, and how much fun it was to relieve her stress through fighting, she moved on to fighting boys in the school yard, sometimes even utilizing her quirk to help.

Her delinquent behaviors didn't stop, and she stopped going to school almost entirely.  She had heard of the vigilantes that used Quirks beat up average criminals, so she decided to do the same.  However, after the HLRA, she was soon arrested for disrupting the peace, and assaulting an officer.  As this was her first offence, and as a minor, she was sentenced to become a guinea pig for the governments latest program: The publicly funded Hero Academia.  She would start off as a freshman, and attend daily, and her parents would receive a generous compensation if she were to complete her schooling.  However, she would have to take the entrance exam like the everybody else.  Her family had always struggled financially, so she begrudgingly accepted their offer.

Quirk: Steam Engine

Spoiler

Mixing the water molecules in her body with a rise in kinetic energy, Misu can emit Steam from any pore in her body.  However, she also has special water retaining cells in her muscles that allow them to absorb water, and use them for extra bursts of strength when turned rapidly into steam.  If the steam hasn't dissipated, she can siphon back up as much as possible through her skin, to re-hydrate her body, but doing so is still cost negative.  She can also build up pressurized steam in her pores, and release them in powerful, explosive bursts.  Misu can also absorb liquids through her skin a lot easier than other people.  However, this quirk dehydrates her if used for too long or too much at once.

Everyone's apps who have been accepted so far are as mentioned:  Everyone besides ZetaResp and ScooterRulez.  My reasoning are as follows.

Scooterrulez:  Your quirk is a tad strong at the moment, but we can tinker around with it.

Zetaresp: I have no understanding of what this girl's quirk is supposed to do.  It sounds as if shes impervious to any inorganic physical damage, and is too complex for so early on in the history of Quirks.  If there's any reason she needs to be a fox to have that quirk, elaboration will be required, as you said the quirk didn't make her a fox.

Basically, she makes portals with her body, mainly her hands and feet. The portals look like flames. The other end is a light source (though, personally, that's a part I want to alter). Her appearance is mostly thematic, because foxes with fire illusions are common in Japanese Folklore (i.e. Kitsune devils). In story, her look's the leftover of a mutant quirk on her family (people may have a look not related to their quirk, as Mutant quirks's body alterations are inherited even though the quirk is not; just remember Fumikage's quirk was not tied to his look, though the latter influenced the former's appearance).

Don't Lose Traction

Spoiler

jaWc1Nw.png?1

“I’ve got what it takes to be a hero...I promise you that.”

Personal Information

Name: Yuudai Shiba (Lit. Shiba Yuudai, 秋葉 雄大)

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Spoiler

Fp1FyUs.png

Height: 5’8”

Weight: 148 lbs

Depicted above is Yuudai’s general appearance. He tends to wear a lot of short sleeved shirts and even tank-top/wife-beater shirts, just to show off his muscles. Also, the grooves in his muscles in his arms and legs are obviously shown, even through the clothing.

Personality:

Spoiler

Despite his hardened appearance and demeanor, Yuudai is actually a pretty down to earth type of guy. The young man is kind-hearted and full of a heroic determination to succeed at whatever comes his way. His dreams and aspirations to be a great hero is what drives him to act the way he does, doing his best to help out when he can (if he can) as well as just being there just to listen to others if they need it. Yuudai is also pretty smart, especially when it comes to finding ways to have his Quirk and another’s work together in some sort of combination.

Of course, this doesn’t mean Yuudai is just a big softie. While he may be a kind and caring soul, he does have his serious moments. Those can be definitely seen in situations where someone is in trouble (especially his friends) or when someone pushes the wrong buttons and really upset him. When situations like this happen, Yuudai’s demeanor definitely shows it, to where his eyes get fixated on the issue...and even Traction gets fired up, just to show he means business.

When it comes to combat, as mentioned before, Yuudai’s muscle group that is comprised from his Quirk, Traction, get fired up and rotate to life when he begins to get into combat. He tends to start every bout with a catchphrase he’s thinking will definitely catch on with others when he becomes a Pro: “Get a grip!”, and after that he begins an assault (which namely consists of him assessing the situation and doing what he believes is the best course of action).

Biography:

Spoiler

“A hero’s tale starts somewhere...and it started for me that afternoon...”

Born a cool autumn evening, Yuudai was conceived with an abnormality in his body that was immediately noticed. The child had a unique muscle group that ran along the entire length, front and back, of his arms and legs. This was the tell tale sign of their son being born with a Quirk, his parents were almost certain of it. Neither one of his parents had a Quirk, so this shocked them, especially since this would definitely make it harder for their son to fit in with people. Still, they decided to take it in stride and hope for things to get better...and with a child with a strange power...it would definitely be a challenge.

As Yuudai would grow up, the young boy and his parents would start to learn the extent of his abilities, even learning that this muscle group was one he could strain quite easily and often. Nevertheless, even with this setback with his Quirk, it didn’t stop the young man from living his life. Though as he grew up, he knew he wanted to use this gift he was given to help others somehow...and that’s when he saw him. A speedy hero that was showcased on the TV during an interview with Pro Heroes. It showed plenty of clips of this speedy individual saving lives, catching criminals, and stopping nefarious villains. His mind was made up now… Yuudai was going to become a hero.

He did his best to try and hone his Quirk to where he could use it properly and when he heard about U.A. Academy, a school to train heroes, Yuudai figured his chance had come. With his head held high, he applied and went to the entrance exams. It was something he definitely didn’t expect, but nevertheless, the young man was able to get a passing grade and was admitted into the school.

The path to a hero for Yuudai starts at U.A. Academy...his goal, almost within his grasp.

Hero Information

Hero Name: Conveyor Hero - Speed Belt

Quirk:

Spoiler

Quirk Name: Traction

Type: Mutant

This Quirk has a unique muscle group that runs along the entire length of his arms and legs, front and back.  The muscles have a groove to them that makes them look like a chain belt. The muscles can contract to hold onto small objects/terrain, and the belt can be rotated at high speeds. These muscle “tracks” revolve around the entirety of the arms and legs, so they can grip onto most anything with tracks on either limbs. The tracks can ramp up the rotation so that it can be utilized with the arms to send things flying like a slingshot.

The main weakness of this Quirk, however, is that it’s still a muscle. Therefore, overuse of the muscle will cause it to be strained and unfortunately, it can become strained easier than most.

Costume Idea:

Spoiler

Yuudai is still in the process of designing his costume.

Miscellaneous Information

Yuudai's Theme | Battle Theme

  • Yuudai's name is means the following: Yuudai - From Japanese 雄 (yuu) meaning "hero, manly" and 大 (dai) meaning "big, great, vast". Shiba - From Japanese meaning “autumn leaf”.

  • Another idea for his name happened to be utilizing the Japanese translation of traction, “Ken'in-ryoku”.

  • Yuudai’s catchphrase is “Get a grip!”, which is said in a similar manner akin to Jaden Yuki’s “Get your game on!”.

    • A side piece of trivia here...the manner of him saying it was all Hyde’s idea.

  • Yuudai had another idea for his Hero Name, Traction Hero - Grip, but he decided against it due to the fact that it sounded a tad bit lame.

Bloom and Wilt

Spoiler

Name: Yuuka Itou

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearance

Spoiler

V0JT0PW.jpg
Artist: Hitoshi
Height: 5'4", Weight: 155 lbs

Personality

Spoiler

Yuuka is a person who diligently works towards all tasks of becoming a great hero before her. She is a student who is always readily attentive to whatever is being taught and seems to take good notes. Never skipping any kind of practice it would appear as though she does everything she can towards becoming a better person and hero. This makes it all the more strange that the girl herself has no actual aspiration to become any kind of famous or "top" hero herself. Her joys and efforts are found less in heroics and more in helping others to reach their maximum potential as heroes.

Yuuka is always willing to help fellow heroes to be in improving themselves, whether they actually want her help or not. This comes off as her not really being sensitive towards others, merely stating what she thinks they could be doing better bluntly and as fact. This is only made worse by her knowing that people have different strengths and abilities, and so of course in order to help give advice tailored to that individual she is not only a diligent note taker towards her studies, but also her fellow students sometimes coming across as incredibly nosy and sometimes even stalkerish.

Biography

Spoiler

Growing up in Tokyo, Yuuka has never been a stranger to the crimes and heroics that quirks have given way to. As such, she was always there to witness the spectacle of heroes and villains facing off against each, regardless of who the victor was. With it becoming a part of her every day life and much admiration and enjoyment drawn from watching these heroics, Yuuka had begun to wonder about becoming a hero herself. Constantly taking notes on the various heroics that happened, the girl did her best to train and try and figure out how she could reach this goal. At the age of 13, when her quirk had finally manifested, though, it seemed as though her dream was not meant  to be. Neither flashy nor particularly inspirational, even when the girl did use it to help others she soon learned that actually helping solve people's issues was not what had brought her joy about it. Instead, what she enjoyed most was heroism as a spectator sport.

With her dream having shifted, the girl started to figure out how best to go about achieving this. Her answer soon became that if she had enjoyed watching heroes so much, then clearly the only way for her enjoyment to last was there to be more true heroes around. And in order to reach that end, she would have to make sure that the people around her group up to be as such. Grabbing all the neighborhood kids she could find who she felt could become heroes, she began to attempt to school them on what it meant to be a "true hero." Of course, due to her very pushy nature this did little favors for her and most people figured she didn't know what she was talking about to begin with.

Disappointed, but undeterred, the girl's next project was to figure out to become someone people would take seriously. As luck would have it, a school attempting to accomplish the very same thing she was had opened up. Figuring that it was the perfect place to learn more about heroics and also nurture heroes to be, she applied for it.

Quirk

Spoiler

Haze

A naturally toxic person, Yuuka has the ability to secrete a poisonous fluid across her skin that is also able to be turned into a gas. The poison itself is incredibly fast acting and can seep through clothing in its liquids state or slip through small cracks and the like in its gaseous state, and only requires contact for the poison to take affect. The poison itself is not very lethal, merely leaving a minor stinging sensation and fatiguing the target who is afflicted by it. It does very little in small doses, requiring multiple doses or prolonged exposure to truly make the fatigue it provides to the afflicted set in.

The poison comes in two forms; liquid and gaseous. The liquid form is one that takes little to no effort on her part to actual produce, and has a similar look to water, often times making her look/feel sweaty while it is active. Due to being more concentrated than the gaseous form, is more potent.

Yuuka is, however, also able to turn the liquid on her body into a more gaseous version and toss it in a location. The poison first starts out as a small orb of gas that once it strikes an area or when Yuuka wills it so, detonates into a cloud of poisonous gas. At present, once the orb detonates it fills a 10 ft radius with the poison and lasts for 10 seconds. Once it is released, Yuuka has absolutely no control over the cloud of gas, nor does she have any control on who this poison afflicts. This requires more effort on her part to use, and using it haphazardly will quickly tire the girl out.

Yuuka is immune to her own poison.

Yes, but what is the purpose?  Why is it aesthetically like a kitsune, and her parents are both Fox people, regardless of the fact that you are the second generation of Quirk users?  Like I said prior, it's too early to have such a complex layer of Quirks on top of a portal quirk (which are rare in their own right in the modern day Hero Aca).  If you can rework the Quirk, and make it either she's a fox person or has a seperate quirk entirely, then I might consider accepting it.  Until then, it's not going to cut it.

Chaos Sonic and Skaia however, are both accepted.

Congrats folks, I'll get working on the IC ASAP

Extraordinary individuals on Earth have existed since the beginning of recorded history, or even before then. As long as man has looked up at the stars and wondered what higher powers exist out there, there have been a select chosen few who can bridge that gap. Gifted with powers, whether supernatural, technological, alien, or simply exceptional among humanity; they have rode the crest of the wave of history, shaping it at every turn... whether for good or for evil.
Over the last few centuries, as the modern geopolitical sphere solidifies, so does the culture of superheroes. Multiple groups arise, each one policing their corner of the globe, trying to stay disentangled from the worries of the rest of the world. There are so many, in fact, that it took a few days before the full picture came together one hot summer day in 2018.
Seven young heroes, vanished into thin air. And when they return, the stories they tell will only be overshadowed by the secrets they keep...
      GUIDELINES
Please read and understand NCM and section rules before posting.
You have creative freedom when making your character, but please remember that GM word is final, and you may be asked to change things if deemed necessary. There's a fine line between over-the-top and just plain silly: I expect you to know where that lies. I won't be restricting your potential powers, but please be reasonable and consider how your character's abilities will work in the context of an RP.
(Note: Characters with a "cosmic" origin or power source, ex. aliens or Green Lantern-esque heroes, must be cleared by me prior to applying, and will be held to greater scrutiny.)
Being accepted into this RP means that you are committed to seeing it advance. If you end up falling inactive, you may be dismissed from participating. When posting, please let at least two people go before you before posting again; and aim to post at least once a week. If for some reason you'll need to be inactive for an extended period, please let the hosts know so they can write around your absence.
As of right now, I only want one character per player. If you are competing for a particular position against another applicant... well, tough. I'll pick applications based on how I think the characters will overlap and interact with one another--we're following the trope of Superhero Speciation. Finally, six characters max will be on the Young Guardians, meaning I'll only accept five other players.

This is by no means a complete history: feel free to expand on it in your app. (Please forgive my poor attempts at Google Translating Russian.)
1900's While empowered individuals as a concept have existed since the dawn of time, the idea of costumed villains and vigilantes only became culturally widespread with the advances of the 20th century.1940 The "Golden Age" of superheroics begins a year into the Second World War: this was when heroes were deployed to the front lines for the first time as tactical ultimatums. The war ends with a two-pronged attack. The French Légion de la Gloire and the British Division 10 moved in the Western theater, and the Soviet красные знаменосцы (Red Pennants) and American Sentinels took the East. Notably, this avoided the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Rather, the trigger for the Axis' surrender was when a Soviet hero named Огненное Знамя (Fiery Banner) went insane and razed the city of Dresden to the ground, incinerating nearly one million Germans. (He would later be executed for war crimes, which set off future international tensions.)Sep 2, 1945 After the end of the war, the primary world powers gathered at Dresden to sign into account the Dresden Accords, a list of rules for deploying superheroes under national orders. As a result, heroing became a mostly-national phenomenon: international scenarios were rare to the point of irrelevance.mid-1950's An unintended consequence of the Accords was the rise of global super-crime, mostly by the shadowy organization M.I.S.T. Against the tension of the Cold War, which was only held at bay by the tenuous balance of powers, this globespanning group plundered and spread terror, lead by the mysterious and charismatic Gray Mask. These two factors are considered to be the beginning of the "Bronze Age" of heroes, where realpolitik eclipsed a unifying foe.Mar 4, 1983 This state of uncertainty fell with a bang! with the invasion of the K'rrik, a race of insectoid aliens looking to strip Earth of her resources and subjugate her citizens. Humanity suddenly found they were not alone: and although they unified in the face of such evil, they were on the back foot of a number of days until the arrival of the Cosmic Legion (name subject to change).Mar 17, 1983 The tide turned, and within two weeks the K'rrik invaders were beaten back, but at the cost of millions of casualties. March 17th became the Day of Memory, an international holiday to commemorate the loss of life. A side effect of the Legion's new presence on Earth was the acceleration of spacefaring technologies, letting humanity quickly establish lunar and Martian outposts.JUNE 2018 A group of seven young superheroes make their first entry into the Otherworld after being abducted in their sleep.
