  1. ^Just got me thinking

I did not think of that for Toga learning how to use all of Deku's powers. Is it possible for her to obtain One For All? Because I believe All Might said the power can only be passed consensually/conscientiously and she stole Deku's blood, that's the key difference.

But if they pull something or it turns out there's a trick to do afterwards that doesn't require Deku's consent, that could be a big problem if she can figure all that out. Even if she can't control the strength part of One For All and passes on the power to the rest of the League of Villains and the Noumus. If that scenario were to play out, Stain could potentially tap into the power too.

    Society might be fucked.

Otherwise, I think the alternative is she can't use any of Deku's powers because they all come from All For One and she wouldn't be able to access any of it.

But that was a good chapter, that ending spread was sick (in both senses of the word).

  2. So I just beat Persona 5 last week, no joke. Quality game, top tier.

    This comes out.

And now I want to play this again!

They added way more new stuff than I would have thought. What would make this perfect is if they offered Royal as DLC so I could carry my NG+ data over and just do my second playthrough with Royal, but I'm doubting that'll happen so I'll either skip the Platinum Trophy for P5 or just play this damn game three times (honestly might).

Kasumi seems cool, perused through some of that info and the story changes sound cool and seem pretty intriguing. Got this on my radar for sure.

  3. Let's Go Johto and so on will definitely happen, it's just a matter of when. Curious who they'd choose as the mascots since I'm not sure people would be into Pichu and Marill/Togepi. They may also say fuck it and do Let's Go Gold and Let's Go Silver, or LG Cyndaquil and LG Totodile. I figure it'll either come towards the end of Switch's lifespan or at the start of whatever the next console is like Roxas said.

Diamond and Pearl remakes will come after Sword and Shield for Switch. Despite them being my least favorite back in the day, still psyched to explore Sinnoh with everything updated.

  4. I've been playing Persona 5 the past month and I think I may be able to beat it just in time for Joker's release in Smash, unless the release happens this week or something. It's definitely helped me buy into the hype of him coming to Smash now, I can see him being a "Fighter" type with one gun move in his arsenal.

That render does look pretty great; I'm also puzzled though how we haven't seen anything. I'm trying to remember how far in advance the Wii U Smash DLC reveals were before their release in the game.

  5. Castelvania is a cool show, didn't know what to expect but I like everything from the voice acting, animation/action, and the whole atmosphere. I'm not too familiar with the video games, but I definitely care more now than I did back in the day, so I'd recommend it to both fans and non-fans. I hope Legend of Zelda and other future VG shows takes a page out of this book for being adapted.

Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

    My thoughts on the movie:

It's pretty alright and solid. I'd say it's like mid-tier/high mid-tier for MCU films. I enjoyed Cap interacting with Fury and some of the other cast, but I think she's stronger with other characters than she is solo. But she did have amnesia most of the movie, so I feel like Cap Marvel 2 will have better solo character stuff with Carol now that she has an established identity and Brie Larson will have grown more into the role by that point.

I probably should have expected the Skrulls being good considering the Kree were the bad guys in Avengers and Guardians. I liked them, so it'd be interesting to see them modern day. If they do a Fantastic Four reboot, Super Skrull could be a good villain to use in FF 2.

I also really enjoyed all of the 90s content, got a huge chuckle when she crashed through the Blockbuster.

Also, I see what you did with Monica there, Marvel.

It's got a great box office weekend too.

  7. Super Smash Bros Ultimate - I need to fuel my Smash fix that's been going strong since 2002.

Pokémon SoulSilver - The Johto games still have the best post-game IMO. Emerald and Y would be close seconds.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - It's my favorite game, so I'd want to be able to play it from time to time. I do that now and it's like I never left.

I gotta say, I'm REALLY digging the map for this gen. A lot of people have sorta compared it to Sinnoh, and while I see where they're coming from, it's pretty unique in that it's not divided in half like Sinnoh was. It doesn't seem as circular as Unova or Kalos, and it's nice to be back on a continent after Gen 7. I'm really excited to explore this region honestly.

Some people are worried that it might end up being super linear, go in a straight line from one place to the next, and while it could be, I dunno, I think it's got potential so I wanna see how this pans out.

I'm a fan of it too. And I don't really see the big deal with the linear complaint because every Pokémon game is pretty linear.

    Also, establishing this now:

Like HGSS, ORAS, etc, we should totally refer to these as SwSh.

  9. Team Skull definitely etched itself in as one of the better teams, probably my favorite one actually. So I hope they hold themselves to that same standard and get creative.

I forgot to say, but I also like the base designs for the trainers. Better beanies than Brendan's.

  10. I'm honestly hyped for this movie. I'm not sure how good it'll be, but I don't think it'll be bad and I anticipate myself having a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to seeing how many Pokémon they can cram in and how they look. Most of them so far are pretty damn good and I'm happy they made a point to use a variety of Pokémon from all the different gens.

It's really cool too that they tapped RJ Palmer to help with the designs, the guy makes amazing realistic Pokémon.

Mewtwo's a nice surprise at the end there, I'm curious if he's the one upending the earth in the trailers or if that's another legendary like Groudon or something.

I raised three eyebrows when they first announced this movie, but I've found myself losing skepticism since the first trailer. This also comes out on my birthday, so this'll be a neat present for myself.

    I don't think we're getting 3rd games anymore.

I agree, the last one we had was literally 10 years ago with Platinum. Not impossible, but pretty improbable.

I like most of those, but I'd probably say Helmet (Pokémon Helm maybe sounds like a better name?) to complete the knight's set. Speaking of, I wonder if the new evil team could be based on the knights of the round table. Or maybe one of the gyms or some other group can let them play around with the knight motif.

I had a thought that maybe one or more of the legendaries wolf-related considering the logos. But that could also just be a random decoration for them.

My first inclination is Sword, but that could easily change. I'm waiting to see more info as well like the legends, exclusives, etc.

Considering there is a snowy region, we're probably going in both England and Scotland at least. And considering geography, there should be some kind of connection to Kalos.

For the first few seconds up until after you see the spinny Fletchling thing on the roof, I thought this was Pokémon Z. I'd be down with seeing some Kalos connections in this region.

Sword and Shield, makes it difficult to try to predict a 3 game of the series, if there will be any.

For the football stadium, I was thinking that has something to do with the side project in this game (like contests, etc). Or it might be one of the gyms, I can see that being a gimmick. But the uniform you're wearing makes me think there's more to it.

I love the starters. Still happily going with my tradition of choosing Grass first, Grookey seems like a cool pokémon and I'm itching to try the other two at some point, particularly Scorbunny. It could lend itself well to Fire/Fighting, but I'd prefer something else like Fairy. I hope one or more of them has a surprising type combo like how Decidueye randomly evolved into a Ghost. I can see Grookey becoming a Grass/Dark to maintain the mischief theme; we haven't had one since Gen 3 I think.

The region looks great, the cities have an awesome aesthetic and I love how there's a lot of countryside to explore. End of the year can't come soon enough.

  13. Vic also added on Twitter that he's "taking time to recommit to God and seeking the help of a counselor."

I take that as an acknowledgment from him that he was in the wrong. Maybe he didn't realize what exactly he'd been doing, but that doesn't excuse his actions.

Just as you said Shradow, it is a damn shame. Hope everyone who's been affected is able to move on from this and that Funimation doesn't encounter any other crazy controversies. The Scott Freeman thing was insane too.

  14. Vic Mignogna's been a big anime voice actor for a long time and recently he's been under fire for sexual harassment/assault and other inappropriate exchanges between his fans and other voice actors.

Almost all of his con appearances this year have been canceled, he's fired from RWBY, and Funimation cut their ties with him.

How do people here feel? I was hoping things were false when there were first rumblings about him, but the sheer amount of testimonies from others in the industry and people who've interacted with him at cons have convinced me he's been in the wrong here and there's an established history of his behavior.

  15. Kaguya made it in, huh? Guess that makes sense, but I would've picked Obito. Dude'll probably be DLC anyways.

Interesting that Black Clover and MHA only had their MCs in, I guess the big focus though was on some of the older series.

Still a little hesitant about this game, also just learned it's the same studio doing this as the last one. They may have made some improvements though and the staff itself may be different, so hoping for a positive turn.

  16. I never have read any light novels, but I've been curious. I think my main ones to check out would be Baccano and Durarara! since I really enjoyed their anime adaptations and I'd be down to see any continuing story from those two.

Might as well add No Game No Life to that list too since I'm starting to get the sinking feeling that season 2 is a long way off, if ever.

  17. Chapter 931

    Spoiler

I loved this. I think over the past couple years, Sanji's become my favorite Straw Hat after Luffy. But Zoro's still great, so those two are neck and neck for me.

I busted a gut when it was revealed he can turn invisible and also the Soba Mask name. Another really funny moment was Big Mom's dumb expression when she can't think of who she is. Normally I roll my eyes at amnesia, but I'm good with this because you know there's some incoming hilarity there.

The Oniwaban seem like an interesting group based off their designs. Reminded me of Kumadori (wonder if there's any relation, probably not).

  18. This is actually super tough for me, I think Melee's clout has shrunken over time for me since we've had 3-4 Smash games since then and Twilight Princess is still a great stand-alone adventure. But I've sunken much more time in Melee and looking back on those hours were some of my best times playing video games as a kid.

It doesn't matter anyway due to the landslide, but I'll give it to Melee and be fine with Twilight advancing.
