Noble Knight Support

Recommended Posts

These were some Noble Knight support cards I thought of. Helps make the deck better and gives more utility to some older cards.

Please leave your thoughts below ?

Noble Knight Kay

Level 5 / Dark / Warrior / Effect

1800 attack / 1800 defense

This card is treated as a Normal Monster while on the field and in the GY. This card can be treated as a Level 4 Monster for the Xyz Summon or Synchro Summon of a “Noble Knight” Monster. If you control a “Noble Knight” Monster, except “Noble Knight Kay”, you can Special Summon this card from your hand or GY. You can only Special Summon “Noble Knight Kay” once per turn this way.

Lore: One of the first knights of the Round Table, and a foster son of Arthur ( or as we know him, Artorigus ).

Noble Knight Caradoc

Level 4 / Light / Warrior / Effect

1700 attack / 1000 defense

This card is treated as a Normal Monster while on the field and in the GY. This card can be treated as a Level 5 Monster for the Xyz Summon of a “Noble Knight” Monster. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 “Noble Knight” Monster in your GY, except “Noble Knight Caradoc”; Special Summon it. You can only use this effect of “Noble Knight Caradoc” once per turn.

Lore: Another one of the knights of the Round Table

Elaine, Daughter of the Nobles

Level 1 / Light / Warrior / Tuner / Effect

100 attack / 1000 defense

This card is always treated as a “Noble Knight” Monster. If you control no Monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand or GY in face-up defense position. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 “Noble Knight” Xyz Monster that is either banished or in your GY; Special Summon it, then attach this card to that Monster as an Xyz Material, then you can attach up to 2 “Noble Knight” Monsters from your hand, GY, and/or banished cards to that Monster as Xyz Materials. You can only use each effect of “Elaine, Daughter of the Nobles” once per turn.

Lore: Based around Elaine, who appears in Arthurian Legends, and appears as a daughter to many kings, and is a mother of many Noble Knights ( Hence, why she isn't a Noble Knight monster by name ).

Noble Arms - Pridwen

Spell - Equip

You can only control 1 “Noble Arms - Pridwen”. Equip only to a Warrior-Type Monster. Once per turn, during either players turn, when your opponent activates a card or effect that would affect a “Noble Knight” card or “Noble Arms” card on your field, in your hand, or in your GY (Quick Effect): You can negate that effect, then send that card to the GY. If this face-up card on the field is destroyed and sent to the GY: You can target 1 Warrior-Type “Noble Knight” Monster you control; Equip this card to that target. You can only use this effect of “Noble Arms - Pridwen” once per turn.

Lore: A shield wielded by King Arthur

Noble Arms - Carnwennan

Spell - Equip

You can only control 1 “Noble Arms - Carnwennan”. Equip only to a Warrior-Type Monster. Once per turn, during either players turn, when a card or effect is activated (Quick Effect): You can target 1 other face-up “Noble Arms” Equip Spell card you control and 1 card your opponent controls; destroy them. If this face-up card on the field is destroyed and sent to the GY: You can target 1 Warrior-Type “Noble Knight” Monster you control; Equip this card to that target. You can only use this effect of “Noble Arms - Carnwennan” once per turn.

Lore: A dagger wielded by King Arthur

Camelot, True Home of the Noble Knights

Spell - Field

When this card is activated: You can add 1 “Noble Knight” Monster or 1 “Lady of the Lake” from your Deck to your hand. During your Main Phase: You can return any number of “Noble Arms” cards and/or “Lady of the Lake” that are either banished and/or are in your GY to Special Summon a “Noble Knight” Monster that is either banished or in your GY whose Level is less than or equal to the total number of cards returned. You can only use each effect of “Camelot, True Home of the Noble Knights” once per turn.

Lore: The legendary castle of King Arthur.

Legacy of the Noble Knights

Spell - Normal

Target 5 “Noble Knight” cards and/or “Noble Arms” cards that are either banished and/or are in your GY; shuffle all of them into your Deck, then draw 2 cards. If a “Noble Knight” Monster you control that is Equipped with a “Noble Arms” Equip Spell is destroyed by battle and sent to your GY while this card is in your GY: You can add this card from your GY to your hand. You can only use 1 effect of “Legacy of the Noble Knights” per turn, and only once that turn.

Lore: Nothing specifically lore related here, much like Glory of the Noble Knights.

Firstly, kudos for you sticking to the lore. The attention to detail is great.

There's a couple of rule things I don't like here. Firstly, the treated as Normal Monster while on the field but still having effects. Aside from being unprecedented, it also locks them out of being targeted by Breakthrough Skill and similar cards that specify targeting an Effect Monster, which can be a little annoying. It doesn't really interact with the Noble Arms cards in the Psuedo-gemini way of the other Noble Knights either, so it never becomes an effect monster. Can a Normal Monster have effects? It's really up to you here, but I'd suggest leaving the Normal Monster thing in the GY only, as we have enough Noble Knights that are treated as Normal Monsters on the field, but again, your call.

Kay doesn't really fix a problem Noble Knights had, with Custeninn being a much better option to dump from the hand and Gawayn not having a restriction on the Summoning effect. They struggle more with maintaining a field rather than initially making it.

Caradoc is good, but a little bland. Still, cards don't have to be complicated to work, right?

Elaine has the "treated as" which I really don't like, and normally feels like a cop-out. Why not have "Daughter of the Noble Knight" as the child of Arthur. While helping the late-game, which NKs need, it feels a little cheap here being "NS this get 3 mat Xyz" as draw to win, which then nets you 3 Noble Arms from your GY. It's just so versatile, too much so imo.

For your arms, you don't need "during either player's turn" when you already have "Quick Effect" as they both denote the same thing. I don't like quick effects on spells, but they need plays on your opponent's turn, so I'll let it pass. I'd suggest going with one or the other, personally, as they both accomplish similar things, and Morgan herself is easily grabbable with the Trap they have and does better than the former. NK's are a big archetype, so it's good not to bloat them too much, you know? Still, I do like Carnwennan. A little creative and abusable with two copies of itself being able to be re-used. Very interesting. I'd say keep that one.

Camelot is a good card, true, but it clashes with Noble Knights of the round table, imo. This could do better reworked as a Continuous Spell of sorts, even though technically the other way around would work better. But, Konami has already made the Field Spell, and with Terraforming still legal people will play both, with the original field being the late game play, and this card being essentially a Normal Spell that searches and nets you a monster from your Deck. Not all Fields have to search :3

Legacy is cool, with a fair restriction on the re-adding to the hand. A common type of card, but one that works well in this context.

Noble Knights could do with some support, but I feel you have too many cards here. 36 is already a ton of cards, and adding more gets them into HERO and Blackwing territory of completely overshadowing older cards, which we should be working with rather than ignoring imo. Still, you have quite a few good cards here that don't do that, and are just purely useful in their own right, so nice!
