The site does cost money each month to upkeep. I don't sell any data, nor do I run any ads - any support you can give to help with the upkeep of things would be greatly appreciated.

There is no max goal for this donation, nor and end point. The rough costs for the site are around 40/50 GBP each month give or take 10 either side depending on the month, there are periods at the start of the year where this does increase significantly due to renewals for the domain and SSL certificates that this site runs off.

The site will remain active and online for as long as I can maintain it. I'm not struggling financially (at least as much as some!) and can maintain this regardless.

    • The first thing Chris did when the monster collapsed dead was make sure he still had everything -- weapon, sword, string… Well, the first first thing he did was breathe a sigh of relief. He had figured killing these things was possible, but the fact that there was now full evidence that they – the team -- could do so was nice to see. Second, then, was recollecting himself -- bracing his boot against the dead monster’s corpse to yank his sword back out, putting his daggers in their proper sheaths, and patting himself down to make sure he had his spindle and everything else. He also checked for any wounds he might have missed with all the adrenaline. He didn’t want to collapse in the middle of the second fight out of nowhere. Satisfied that he wasn’t going to die, at least not that way, Chris turned his attention to the second monster. Again, he was still terrified on some level, but the thing seemed so much more knowable now. Chris readied his string. He hadn’t gotten to enact his plan of tying the first monster up amidst all the chaos. Maybe the second one would be a bit more amenable to the attempt. Chris made his approach. He waited until he had passed Ziun to anchor his string, just to make sure that the bard was outside of the range of whatever shenanigans Chris was about to get up to. That was when he started to sprint, weaving his way around the errant tentacles and keeping sure the string unwound behind him. He managed one full, reasonably tight circle around the monster before it realized what was happening, but then it started to swipe at him. Suddenly, not only did Chris have to fight this second monster’s attacks, he also had to fight his instincts. How long had it been since he’d gotten this string? How long had he gotten used to its general use of pulling him out of danger? Now, he had to keep it out as long as possible, so he had to resort to other methods of keeping out of trouble. The classic solution: Chris ran. Well, it wasn’t spiritually running away if he was also pulling the string tight, Chris decided. And that was important to keeping the monster immobile. But he did physically run away from the monster, yes. At least out of swiping range. Of course, then he had to deal with the tentacles, some of which were no longer entranced by the siren song of Ziun’s lute. They weren’t quite coming his way, but they were reaching out in his general direction. “If we tie these down too,” Chris said, “like, for good, with web and string and whatever else, it shouldn’t be able to hurt us anymore. Then we can wail on it. The problem is-” He grit his teeth and jumped back to avoid a few exploratory swings from the tentacles. “The problem is we gotta tie these to something, and the best thing I can think of is itself? If someone’s got a good way to do that, or even just a better idea, that’d be- I’m all ears.”
    • The casino roof... it looked better than it did the other day when he was up here. It seemed to have the same amount of members here to guard it, so at least they were consistent with the numbering. Override made his approach and was stopped immediately by one of the members... oh boy... “Well, look who it is, the guy who tried to drop a chandelier on me. You’re lucky Tidebinder is more forgiving than I am. Even the old boss would never have let this happen.” "Simply doing my job, just as you were..." Override responded, rubbing the back of his armored head. "However, I am glad you managed to not get crushed by that... honestly, just glad no one did." He was definitely glad the the gentleman didn't escalate things further. “Alright, here’s what else we’re working with… The protocol for normal days is that anyone who tries to get into the casino through the roof has to deal with the nine or so guys up here, something that is generally enough disincentive to keep people from trying. If people do, well, all the important stuff is four or five floors down now, and starts to involve the second wave onward of security. Of course, the boss thinks today’s not a normal day, and that’s where you guys come in, I suppose. Extra help is already a boon, but you’re not going to be here for longer than the day unless the boss works something out long-term, which isn’t going to happen, so I guess that’s your main job. You’re a tech guy, right? You and the rest should tech us up something good.” "Hmmm, so brute force is generally the supposed deterrent for anyone breaking into this place." the armored hero nodded, pulling up a screen and proceeding to tap away on it. "For the normal side of things, that wouldn't be terrible... but if we apply this to a situation... say like the raid against Caesar the other day... then it goes completely out the window. What you need is a heavy deterrent for situations like that." He paused, before bringing out another screen with a few images. "By a show of hands, who got hit by the dampener that I launched on that day? I recall at least hitting two." He ended up getting one hand raise. "I think Greg was the other one. He got rotated to the Ave patrol." "Alright, so for the record... the power dampeners do just that. One had flight abilities and was grounded until they dropped from the roof and out of the range of the dampening field... ingenious move, albeit a little stupid." Override commented, as he tapped away some more. "A thought I have happens to be this... in the event of another raid type situation, initiate a power dampening field around the location. This would potentially disarm those caught in the field, as you would assume. It would also deter anyone from trying to break in as well, unless they want to have their powers dampened." The suggestion staggered some of the rooftop audience. "That seems a bit utopian," said one. "Why not just dampen the whole city if you've got the tech for that?" "Or make everyone sign a truce to fight in Goodale?" came another suggestion. A third asked, "Hey didn't Tidebinder beat you using her powers? Are you just trying to make sure that won't happen next time G3 comes knocking on our door?" "All good points... but you seem to be missing the point." Override sighed, swapping one holopad for a brand new one... this one showing a long list of those employed at the casino. "You aren't accounting for one specific detail. Myself with Legion's help, I wager we can attempt to account for each and every one of your genetic signatures to allow those within the casino access to their powers... if they aren't employed with the Gibbon's... the dampening field will nullify any resistance. In theory, mind you..." "Now it sounds like G3 wants our DNA!" someone laughed. "Well, if Legion is the one utilizing the Gibbon's database and doing it that way, then wouldn't be G3 at all." Override chuckled, but waved his hand away. "If that's not to your liking... perhaps this?" He flicked his wrist up and showed an image of one of the Gibbon's wearing belts that projected a bubble shield. "I did come across these... quite the nice design and elegant too. A bit of a work around here and you could easily emit a shield that covers you and will guarantee to nullify an enemy's power if they strike it. Grant it, the caveat here is IF they strike it. If it's something past a physical strike and hit, then you may need to utilize your own abilities." Someone who hadn't spoken yet raised their hand. "What does that do against Tinkers or Thinkers, then? Like you, for instance?" "...you ask me to tech something up... I get all this..." he muttered, wanting to rub the bridge between his nose at this point. "I'm fairly certain with Legion, this can be dealt with. Look, if you don't want these kinds of helpful ideas, we can always just say brute force it and that's it. I've just been asked to assist. Unless, one of you has a suggestion in mind." "Honestly, I thought you were just going to make us a really cool gun" Override was silent, not believing what he had just heard, before shaking his head and shrugged. "...very well, I'll cook up some schematics and send them Tidebinder's way to get them approved before working on them."
