"Well go ahead, if you think you can outrun me, I'd like to see you try."

Allie wasn't chasing her. This seemed fishy. All the same, if she was giving Nani a chance to put some distance between the two, she'd take it. For good measure, Nani fired another pulse of electricity behind her. As she turned away from Allie though - nearly at the base of the volcano - she was suddenly met with the girl herself, standing right in front of her! Nani didn't even have time to react as she saw Allie's arm swing forward with dark energy, slamming into her face and causing Nani to do a rather impressive flip on her way down onto the dirt beneath her. "Nice trick," she gasped. Nani didn't waste much time springing back up to her feet though, bringing her pink-illuminated foot up and around, into Allie's elbow on the way up.

"Guess we're really doing this, huh?"

"Looks like it; should've just given in from the start." Darkness surrounded Allie's fist as she was struck and she went to slam it down on Nani.

Once again, Nani was knocked onto the ground. This girl could pack a nasty punch! Nani sprung up again, this time taking care to put some distance between herself and her opponent. This wasn't someone Nani could just deal with head-on. "I don't really want to fight, to be honest. But I know what you're doing here, and just sitting by and letting that happen is worse." Nani fired another pulse of electricity at Allie. The most important part of stopping this girl in a fight would be to slow her down and just buy time in general.

"There's not enough space in the cab, so you all are going to have to ride in the back."

Not what I was expecting for a ride, but it will have to do. "So be it, then." Natsumi climbed into the back of the truck, and then they were off once the others had also gotten in. She had to admit, it felt nice. The sun on her skin, the wind in her hair, the sights and sounds for her eyes and ears to behold. It certainly beat being cooped up underground all those years. Natsumi could get used to this. Like all good things though, this ride had to come to an end, and the group pulled up and parked at a supermarket in Domino City.

"Look around for things you all want to actually eat, and I'll buy them for you... along with other things on my list. Let's meet up by the registers in 30 minutes."

"We ought to get looking then." Natsumi pulled out a shopping cart as well, starting into the store and making sure Octavia and Leiko were following. "How do the two of you feel about sweets?" she asked, looking up at the signs of the aisles as if looking for something specific.

The battle against the Skrelp was going well enough. The combined efforts of Bubbles, Snipe, and Chinchou, were paying off. Bubbles, however, was taking a bit of a beating. Three of the Skrelp had swarmed him, and while he seemed to be quite a bit stronger than them, there were still three of them. Maybe letting someone else wrap up would be for the best. Kanon recalled Bubbles to his Poke Ball. Being a squid, surely Ursula could breathe underwater. And so, Kanon retrieved her Poke Ball holding the Inkay, and opened it up.

Only to immediately realize, she had no idea what Ursula was actually capable of. Uh-oh. As the Inkay floated about waiting for its command, Kanon pointed at the remaining Inkay, and gestured vaguely, as if to tell her to just do whatever she thought would work. Trusting your judgment on yourself here. Please don't let me down. As Ursula looked over the others and swam into the fray, her body lit up with a reflective sheen.

Sounds like something that comes straight off a pop radio station of your choice, right down to the lyrics to some extent. Though they're not quite cheesy enough for radio.

Also I realize I've only been submitting the heavier King Gizz songs when the majority of their albums (also, they were formed in 2010 they have, like, fifteen albums) are not that -- they're basically all over the place. But this is their newest so this is what you get for now.

Don't you hate it when a band decides to change its style all of a sudden? I'm curious what their other stuff is like, but for now I'll address what's in front of me. 7/10

Is it the vocals? I didn't want to say anything on the first listen but yeah, they're probably an, ah... acquired taste. Western is probably my favorite song of theirs but I can't find that on Youtube just yet so here's Talking Heads instead:

Yes. I definitely get the "acquired taste" feel from them though, which at least means I can tell why one might enjoy them. Just hasn't grown on me quite yet. The instrumentals are really nice but the vocals are a bit odd and need adjusting to. My favorite Touhou remix circle - Akatsuki Records - is the same way though, so I can hardly complain.

I've wondered about this meme for quite some time and never took the initiative to look into it. Quite pleased I don't have to go out of my way for it now. 3/10, the potential's there for something but it's crippled by what it is. Does do what it's supposed to very well though.

OP's suggestion. A new DLC hit 100% Orange Juice earlier this week, complete with a character song since it's an idol-themed DLC. That makes the below song only the second song in the game to be written specifically for the game (the first being the final stage theme for the main story mode), with the rest of the soundtrack being royalty-free tracks.

I could go on about how I'm surprised this happened on multiple levels, but in the interest of saving time, let's get right to the part where I rate this song 8/10.

    "Hey! No touching!"

"Then stop moving!" Hibiki retorted as she and Yuuka were flung off of the lady's legs and into the air. Hibiki collided back-first into the wall of a nearby building, and very nearly got hit with the flung body of Yuuka afterward. That sure did hurt. Most of all for her wings, ringing with the unfamiliar sensation of pain. She couldn't grip the lady, least of all when she was doing that crazy cartwheel attack thing. She had to do something else instead of fighting, as it turned out. Maybe a bluff? Would she even buy that? It was worth a shot. "I'm going to say some stupid things, but play along with them, okay?" she said to Yuuka.

Making her way over to the downed twin - her pace slowed from the impact with the building - Hibiki took a seat on the sidelines next to him. And then, she shouted to the other twin, "Stop or I'll turn him into a vampire!" as she pointed at the downed explody-force guy. And then up to the sun. "And then he'll get fried like some cheap fast food by the sun up there, because that's what happens!" Surely she'd buy that. There was no way for them to prove Hibiki couldn't turn people into vampires, after all.

"That's average height for a fully grown Draken. Bet they don't look half so big or tough without their dumb armor."

"Armor does have that effect on some people, doesn't it?" Pyrrha thought aloud. Still, these guys seemed pretty huge. She looked over Reinaan, picturing him in a similar suit of armor. It certainly did give him a more imposing presence if he was wearing that stuff! Even as she thought about how the rest of the group might look in those suits of armor, it had the same general effect to different extents. Keres less so than the others, Reinaan a bit more than the rest.

More interesting than the draken templars though, was the girl who seemed to spot Keres out of the group, and merrily made her way over.

"Hey, so is this your friend or something? Why don't you introduce her?"

    "She's...Hannah. Council-member Hannah."

Ohhhh, so Council members do leave that tower sometimes! Which effectively meant they could meet one just about anywhere, right? Pyrrha had some mixed feelings about that one, since some other Chosen clearly had trouble trusting them. "What brings a member of the Council all the way out here, though?" she asked. Pointing her fingers out to Hannah and Keres, she added "And for that matter, how do you two know each other?"

    "Man...I hadn't finished that..."

Take better care with your drink then.

"Hmm? Oh yeah, I was defending it with a few others. Was in the mech known as Aegis Weiss. Chase Weller, at your service. So if you knew about that, then that means you must've been up there on the outside of the ship too. Soooooo which mech were you piloting?"

"Sammi." Sammi took and shook Chase's hand, but only for an incredibly short time before returning it to her side. "My mech is the SK-04, designed for aerial combat. The one with the propellers." Asking what Chase was doing in a place like this was kind of a no-brainer, of course. Learn about mechs. It was a regular part of conversation to exchange questions and answers though. Luckily, there was plenty to ask. Why was his grip so bad? Just how much did he contribute to the defense of the Finback earlier?

"Have you been thinking about those houses?" she settled on.

    hzxKAxh.png

"Yeah, our home isn't much special. It's fine but well - "

"It's like she said. It's a place like most others. Had some issues but so does everywhere. I guess best you can say about it was that it was consistent. You could pick out any random planet in the universe and probably hit one that's like ours."

Is that so? It sounded a bit drab if that was the case. Or maybe she was the weird one here. Stella then put her bag up to Kellz for... some reason.

"C'mon Stella you're making me look like a lunatic. Alright, suppose it's better than getting into it with one of those guys." She then cocked a fist back and swung. Vivian watched in amazement as Kellz punched the bag with enough force to rip the bag open! Impressive! And a bit messy. "Ah...shit. Dammit. That was stupid."

"I can help pick up anything that spilled," Vivian offered, already checking around and picking up anything that might have fallen out of the bag Kellz punched. "I've never seen someone punch something quite that hard before. You must be really strong!" It probably had something to do with that prosthetic, right? Vivian had never met someone with them before, but she read once that a long time ago, they were weaker than organic body parts. And yet, here she was in this day and age, watching somebody punch that hard apparently on accident by using the prosthetic arm.

Technology sure was amazing! "Can your leg do things like that too?" she asked to Stella.

“The best part about smithing is everything made of metal gets to be whatever you want it to be.”

    Name: Melanie

    Race: Human

    Alignment: Neutral Good

    Appearance:

    Spoiler

    Height: 5'1"

    Personality:

    Spoiler

Melanie is an optimistic type, but also not the sort who believes in things just working themselves out on their own. No, for things to work out, you need to put in the time and effort to work it out yourself. Being a cheery girl who welcomes a challenge, it should hardly be surprising that Melanie tackles her difficulties in life with enthusiasm and the will to fix her problems personally. After all, there's nothing in life money can buy that hard work can't also earn on its own, even if it takes a while. That's not to say she wouldn't rather just buy her way out of tough times, though. Quite the contrary.

Melanie values material wealth greatly. In addition to being a frugal spender who generally tries to cut as many costs as possible, she's a rather greedy sort, with her first thoughts about something new often being how she can use it for profit. She would never do something legally or ethically wrong for money, but as long as it doesn't break any laws and doesn't hurt anyone, Melanie is pretty willing to go pretty far to make a worthy sum of cash. Naturally, this also includes working herself to the bone, fiting in with her stance on working hard for things to go well.

If there's one thing Melanie takes pride in, it's her work as a blacksmith. Everything she crafts is done so with passion, love, and painstaking attention to detail. She's quite the perfectionist when smithing is involved, and is willing to reforge the same weapon twenty times if it means she'll get everything to be just right the twenty-first time. And why shouldn't she take her work seriously? It's her life! Aside from it being a job that suits her perfectly, it’s also her entire livelihood. It's a practical job involving practical things, but also one that lets her creativity run wild with her free time. When she was running a shop, there were often items for sale that can only be described as "strange", and even those were the ones that didn't get thrown into the reject pile.

    Biography:

    Spoiler

Hailing from a peaceful zone of vast farmlands and developing cities, Melanie had a natural aptitude for fire magic. It was a trait she took great pride in as a child, except... there wasn't really much call for fire magic, short of lighting torches and keeping the hearth warm in the winter months. While she was still able to leave her rural home and study at an academy of magic, there wasn't much else Melanie could really do with her studies afterward. Trying to make a living with her magic alone would be all but impossible, she soon realized, and it would be better to use it as a way to make the job she did take up a bit more convenient. But what?

Working as a courier let her see all different parts of the city, but it was much of the same and grew boring fast. Going back home to work on a farm was out of the question; not wanting to live the farmer's life was a major part of why she left home to visit the academy in the first place! Bounty hunting sounded fun, but Melanie would have preferred a job that didn't put her life in danger. And being a librarian was just too complicated.

It was when she passed by a blacksmith at work that inspiration struck. Seeing them at work made everything suddenly click in Melanie's head. The hot forge was a perfect place to make life easier with magic, the simple but varied work suited her to a T, and it was a relatively safe job she could do from within the city. It was by all means the perfect job! She took out a loan to open a workshop of her own, and went on to run a reasonably successful business. Melanie's Metalworks was a good go-to shop for metal goods for about six years, though a few weeks ago, Melanie announced that she'd be closing the shop for a while.

Her zone was no stranger to foreign traffic, and word of lands far beyond got around quite a bit. While most of it was of no concern to the blacksmith, there was one story in particular that caught her attention. A mineral called exodium, often nicknamed the metal of the gods, was out there somewhere. It weighed virtually nothing, yet was all but unbreakable, and had other special properties no other metal possessed that could only be called magical in nature. And Melanie wanted some. If she could get her hands on that legendary ore, there was simply no telling what sort of wealth would come from it!

And so, trusty tool in hand, Melanie left her humble abode behind to seek out the mythical ore.

Personal Quest: Get her hands on some exodium and make something with it.

    Spoiler

“The Tool”: A massive tool of Melanie’s creation. Can be used to hammer, grab, and pinch items she’s smithing. Due to the size and weight of the tool, it can also be used as a melee weapon capable of crushing or skewering enemies. Not for sale.

Inferno Drill (prototype): An experimental tool of Melanie's design, using a combination of metal and magic. Functions similarly to a grenade, except instead of exploding entirely, the explosions only come out the back, allowing the item to rocket through the ground to make mining easy by using the drill mounted on the front. Although the prototypes are small enough to fit in the palm of her hand, Melanie claims the final product is meant to be "really really big". Currently carrying: 4

    Powers and Abilities

    Spoiler

Smithing: Melanie - being a blacksmith by profession - should be expected to be pretty handy with a hammer and anvil. And indeed, she is quite the blacksmith. Weapons, armors, and more are at her fingertips to create if given the materials, and if she’s unable to repair something made of metal, it clearly didn’t need fixing in the first place.

Pyromancy: The primary means by which Melanie defends herself, though she also uses it to aid in her smithing. Capable of conjuring and manipulating fire, this is a school of magic in which Melanie not only has a natural knack for, but has thoroughly studied.

Haggling: The years running a shop and trying to earn as much and spend as little as possible have given Melanie a good eye for bargains. Be it selling high or buying low, Melanie has quite the merchant’s tongue.

This is neither from Pokemon spinoffs nor performed by The Bubbas. Who are you and what have you done with Spaz? It's not a factor in the score, but anytime a song's lyrics include "blame it on my" I immediately think of Sail by AWOLNATION, which I actively despise as a song. "Spent all my money as soon as I got paid" sure is a relatable line though.

OP's suggestion. Riot music team really outdid themselves this time.

I'm still weighing it out in my head if it should get a 9 or a 10, which based on my rules means I have to give it a 9/10. A bit less guitar and a bit more synth would have done wonders for an already-stellar login theme. I'd also like to just take a moment to appreciate the hard work the music team at Riot does. They go out of their way to write tracks like this just for the login screen, so most people will only hear the song for about 3-5 seconds unless they go looking for it on youtube, simply because music is (presumably) their passion. Talk about underappreciated.

    Day 8, ?:00, Mall
    Points: 61

    W/L Record: 3/3

"Sure shopping -well, maybe window shopping, sounds fine. There's a mall nearby, right? So let's go check out that."

"Oh you poor things. You have so much to learn. Thankfully you have the best teacher. You'd be hopeless without me."

Was Morgan popular in her world too or something? That could be why she was taking to this so naturally, right? Some window-shopping at the mall then ensued. Morgan seemed upset at not being able to afford a figure, but overall, it looked like she was taking it well enough. Aurora, for one, had her eyes on clothes. Something stylish, but still functional, and most importantly, warm. Nothing that caught her eye seemed to meet all three of those criteria. Maybe she could do some online shopping later? For now though, there was a different issue. The big crowd between them and the food court, gathered around a boy band... of plants?

Come to think of it, haven't I seen these guys on posters around the city before?

They certainly had a look she wouldn't easily forget, and they did look familiar enough for that to be the case. The posters must have been ads for this very show.

"Well, it looks like our way to food is blocked off by this crowd, so I guess the only way to it is through them."

That didn't seem right. Checking around betwen herself and the other two fighters, Ross seemed pretty unenthusiastic about going through the crowd. She wasn't really sure what to make of Morgan's look. Couldn't they just go over? Aurora could make a platform and bring it up and over and... but the hassle of it all in a crowded area like this... "I guess it is," Aurora agreed, after a bit of hesitation. Gesturing for the witch to follow herself and the not-a-vampire-she-still-had-to-ask-what-the-deal-with-the-blood-was, Aurora said "Come on. And try not to get lost in the crowd."

...come to think of it, did the Plants photosynthesize? Or did they eat by ingesting food like animals do? And why were they so popular? Was it just because of the novelty of a boy band made of plants? There were a lot of questions springing up in Aurora's mind all of a sudden about these guys. Right now though, something else was bugging her. Best to ask right now.

"Hey, Ross, you said you weren't a vampire earlier, right? I've been wondering, if you're not a vampire, what are you?"

  14. Hv8FblW.png

"Survival is the only right of passage in this line of work. Just make it through the night and you're already off to a great start..." That sounded like kind of a given now that Pyrrha was hearing it for herself. But it was reassuring in a way! All she had to do was not die, and she'd fit in just fine.

    "Oh, um, Pyrrah. Wait up."

"Mmm?" Turning to face... it was on the tip of her tongue. Ry, Ry... Ryia! Turning to face Ryia, Pyrrha raised an eyebrow. Was something wrong? Did she have a smaller bee on her back or something? If so, she certainly hoped the girl wasn't about to swat it with the scimitar she was holding.

"The uh, the bees didn't seem to really um be hurt by your arrows. Not to say that your archery is bad or anything but well...if you're without a weapon, well, here. I figured that um, you could make use of it. In a bind, or something."

Ah. "Thanks. You can never have too many weapons as long as you can carry them all, right?" Pyrrha took the weapon, swinging it around in the air as she continued down the road to get a feel for it. It certainly wasn't the axe she was familiar with. It probably wouldn't be good for throwing, but maybe that was for the better. Down the road the group continued, until they got to the biggest city on this island. Myrrha. Sounded a lot like her own name, come to think of it. That tickled her funnybone, prompting a small, stifled giggle out of Pyrrha as the words "Pyrrha in Myrrha" crossed her mind.

As the team got closer to the gate, it opened. While she initially thought this was to give the Chosen a warm welcome to town, it seemed the gate wasn't necessarily for them. Two really tall draken emerged, alongside a human girl. With the Chosen of Water hiding within the group, Pyrrha could only guess she and this mystery girl knew each other from somewhere. The real question was where they knew each other from, then.

But was it really Pyrrha's place to pry like that? No. Besides, although this girl must have been important in some regard, Pyrrha didn't recall hearing about anyone matching her description. So she couldn't have been that important, right? The ones that really caught her attention were those towering draken at her sides! But... they were leaving, and it would probably be rude to hold them up.

But that was okay! Because there was another draken, right here with her! Turning to the group's resident draken, Pyrrha casually asked "Are draken usually that tall?"

  15. ksARFRH.png

"I'm still standin'! They're all weak, thanks to you! I can handle them! They have no chance against the Kinetitwins!"

"...pffft!" Hibiki had tried her best to contain herself, she really did. But that name was just way too cheesy to not laugh at! If Hikari had also decided to become a hero, would she have to come up with a similarly bad name for the two as a tag-team? What would they even be called, with two Quirks that were so incompatible for naming purposes? As much as Hibiki wanted to ponder on that one some more, there were bigger issues right now. Namely, Gypsy was closing in on them, and fast. Herc didn't look like he'd be able to keep fighting after that blast, and she didn't blame him. Luckily, Itsuki had provided a barrier between the villain and the students, and Yuuka seemed to be moving to grab one of her legs or something?

    That was a good idea!

Hibiki slipped out of the group between the boys, moving herself into a position to roughly mirror Yuuka's, aiming to grab this villain by the other leg. Good thinking, Yuuka!

"Art thou my Master, who has summoned me from beyond the writhed grasp of time? Born as is the new moon to engage and slay at your--- Okay, yeah, never mind, I'm not fond of 'Ye Ol' English'. Hi, I'm Lancer, and you're my Master, right?"

    "Correct."

"You'll have to keep referring to me as Lancer though, as the Throne of Heroes forbids me from revealing my name to you. It's... a safety precaution. I'll let you know what it is when the time comes. Now that that's over with, you got any food? I'm starving."

"I haven't checked," Misaki answered. "If you want me to cook something with whatever ingredients we may have, I don't mind." Misaki followed her Servant out of the room, and into the kitchen, where the two started checking around for something to eat. The fridge was completely bare inside and out besides a piece of paper with a magnet on it, with instructions written down for Misaki to follow over the course of the Holy Grail War. She stopped for a moment to cross "Summon your Servant" off the list. Freezer was also empty. Nothing in the cabinets. There were a couple of those little hanging bowls people would put fruit in, but those were also devoid of any food. The only remarkable thing about the kitchen aside from the written orders Misaki had been given was the food. Or more accurately, the complete and total lack thereof.

"All empty," Misaki sighed as she closed the final cabinet, confirming that there was indeed no food. "What should we do, Lancer?"

"There's only one thing to do in a time like this, right?" Lancer stated as a large grin spread across her face. "We gotta go to one of those "convenient stores" I've heard so much about! Let's go! To the store of convenience for food!"

Misaki nodded in response, looking at her list of orders again.

    1: Summon your Servant
    2: Scout out your area
3: Ally yourself with another Master
    4: Exterminate the non-allied Masters
    5: Exterminate your ally
6: Use the Holy Grail to restore glory to the Shirai family
    7: Exterminate the Mercury family
    8: Return home

"It will also let us scout the area around us," Misaki added, taking the list off the fridge. She wanted to keep this nearby. "I have a list here that my family wrote, going over how we're supposed to win. If we stick to the list, we should get to make a wish on the Holy Grail. What will you wish for, Lancer?"

"Hmm..." Lancer thought to herself. "I don't really have one. I'm not here for the wish, I'm here to have fun."

"I see." Before Misaki had much time to stop and make sure she had her wallet on her, Lancer was already dragging her out of the house by the hand. Scouting ensued. There was conversation - mostly one-sided with Lancer doing the vast majority of the talking - mental notes about interesting locations, and one encounter with a particularly foul-tempered cat that ended in Lancer having a number of cuts across her face. And after some more scouting, the pair had found a convenience store! While Lancer made right for the food, Misaki looked around more thoroughly, for something else.

    Nothing of interest.

As she turned her attention back to her servant, Misaki saw that Lancer was already opening and eating just about any snack item she could get her hands on. The magus hurried over, and said with a tone more pleading than commanding, "We need to buy these before you can eat them. I'll get my wallet and..." Misaki fished into one of the pockets of the long red raincoat draped over her body. Not there. Maybe this one? No, maybe it was a back pocket. The process went on for a bit; while there weren't many exterior pockets to speak of, Misaki's coat had been designed with an abundance of interior pockets. Perfect for hiding weapons or other important odds and ends. Alas, her wallet wasn't to be found in any of them.

    "Lancer, there's a problem."

"I know right? There aren't nearly enough of these Twinkies. They're super good," Lancer commented as she opened her eighth one, messily devouring it.

    "No, a different problem..."

The light from the fire. And smoke carried along the breeze. And Lancer, who had grabbed as many Twinkies and other food items as she could from the now-burning store, in a quantity Misaki had to admit was pretty impressive. Those were all she saw as she left the scene of the crime. With each movement she made, the contents of the shopping bags in her hand rattled. Inside of them was a collective total of one whole human skeleton. Misaki had taken particular care to remove all the flesh from the bones before bagging them up. She didn't want to make a mess after all.

"You mean you use his bones? That's weird and vaguely demon like," Lancer commented, between bites of her current Twinkie.

"It's the type of magic the Shirai family specializes in." The cashier from the store had been pretty dead by the time the two left anyway, so it wasn't like he'd be needing those bones. Misaki could put them to good use, by contrast. She also put a few other parts in an extra, separate bag. Namely the eyes and heart; those would be the most useful. "Now that we've looked around and gotten some food, we're to think about the next step in winning the Holy Grail War: Allying ourselves with another Master. But we don't know who they are, or anything else. Something to get their attention will be helpful. Something like..." Something like burning down a convenience store. "We have that covered, actually."

"Want one?" Lancer asked, holding a Twinkie out toward Misaki.

Misaki nodded. But alas, her hands were full. With a small flick of her wrist, the bone hands sitting in her shopping bags clattered and rose up, taking the Twinkie, opening it, and feeding it to the red-clad magus. Now, to find those other Masters.  She had some ideas for a spell that could help, but it was something she'd have to set up at home. There was also the issue of class cards...

"Why, I operate on explosions of course!"

You can't be serious. BOMB then opened up his chest to reveal a complicated set of wires, and in the center of it all, a cube that would explode at set intervals. He was serious! Of course machines could operate on explosions - that was how some engines functioned - but to see it on such a small scale and allowing a fully-fledged robot to work was impressive! Was there any sort of benefit to having one of those? Maybe she could pay to get her older-technology parts swapped out to something like that. But then that would come with its own set of problems.

"I believe it operates similarly to the organ you possess called a 'heart'."

"That seems to be the case, yes." However, BOMB then did the thing Sammi insisted wasn't necessary. The scan. Uh-oh! "Ah, I just remembered I have somewhere to be! Bye!" With that, Sammi hurried off the stage and into the partying crowd. Not into the dancers of course - she was pretty sure if one thing could make her sick despite not even having the parts to get sick in the first place, it would be dancing with all these other people - but off to the side, where the other partygoers were hanging out. So intent on getting into the crowd and out of BOMB's sight was she, that she totally failed to notice a boy, whom she'd promptly ran face-first into, nearly causing him to spill a drink it looked like he'd just gotten.

"Watch it! You..." Hadn't she seen him somewhere? "You, you... you... I've seen you somewhere else today. Ah, you were there when we were defending the Finback!"

"Well, that sounds rough. So what would you do once you're out?"

"That kinda sucks actually. They force you to take a that many years out of your life just for that. I'd tell em to shove it, myself."

"Oh, I could never! Besides, Colia is a strictly neutral planet, so it's not like I have to worry about suddenly fighting in a war or something! And they teach you all sorts of survival skills too, which are very helpful to have! It's just not my sort of career is all. Once I'm done with the compulsory stuff, I'd like to get some sort of job that has to do with the wildlife there. Even if it's just working at a zoo or being a wildlife guide for tourists, I want to be close to all the plants and animals back home. All the other planets I've stopped at on the way here seem to have such bland wildlife once you get used to the stuff living on Colia! Ahahaha!"

As if to make her point, Vivian reached into her pocket, procuring a cell phone. She went into the pictures folder, and started pulling up pictures of the plants and animals she'd found back home. They were bright and colorful, and usually a bit strange. The pictures were too high quality to be taken by a cell phone though, even in this day and age. Some sealife was even included in Vivian's collection, but those pictures were a bit harder to make out.

"What sort of planet are you two from, by the way? It sounds like you've been together for a while, so it makes sense that you'd be from the same one, right?"

Location: Trailsau (Team Alola, day 27)
Inventory: Good Rod, Antidote, Kasib Berry

"So that's how it is, eh?"

"I would have preferred if it wasn't!" Nani called back, not stopping or turning back in her sprint for the mountain.

"You caught me by surprise but that's not happening again. I'm not letting you up that mountain so you better just face me now."

"What a coincidence! I'm not letting you up there either, but I know I can't win in a fight with you." As Allie launched not one, but two volleys of rocks, Nani weaved and bobbed through them as best she could. And for the most part, it was pretty successful, but there was one part near the end she simply wouldn't be able to avoid. Nani took a deep breath, and darted forward, diving through the rocks as they glanced off her harmlessly, shattering her defense and leaving her open to actually be hurt now. Nice trick. Think I'll borrow it. As she continued toward the volcano, Nani jumped, slamming into the ground and prompting her own set of sharp rocks to come up in a way that copycatted Allie. She then kicked them off by the rear, propelling herself forward and launching the rocks toward her foe.

The real question is, will we be able to all get out of dodge before she gets up there? ...maybe. Probably. Hopefully.
