Just gonna copy my last post from the YCM thread since I think I'm done there:

It's occurred to me that I don't think I've shared any ClariS music here, which is baffling since they're one of my all-time favorites alongside BRADIO, Earth, Wind & Fire, and nano.

This song comes with both sadness and happiness for me. It was the first song released by ClariS after Alice left (which fucking devastated me back in 2014, holy shit) and Karen joined the duo, but it let me know that ClariS wasn't gone. The song gives me the same kind of vibes as their prior works.

  2. The Big Gay

    fRNfGui.png
"If you don't go hard, why play at all?"

    Name: Ichigo Shimada
    Age: 17
    Gender: Female
    Gunpla: Number 2

    Appearance:

    9buIRzR.png

    Height: 5'5"
    Weight: 133 pounds

Ichigo is far-sighted, and as a result wears glasses when reading or doing gunpla work.

    Personality:

Ichigo is a girl armed with a creative talent, honesty, and generous amounts of positive spirit. She's aware she's a girl with plenty of skills and the potential to get far in life, and does her best to keep a positive outlook because of it. As a result of her good nature, it's not all that hard to get along with Ichigo, though she's not quite the type to interact outside of the circles she joins unless there's an obvious common interest between her and whoever she's talking to. Luckily, she's a girl with fairly diverse interests. She likes to play racing or adventure games, draw art, and of course, all things related to gunpla. She even took up track to keep in shape. Talking about something she's interested in is a great way to quickly break the ice with Ichigo, so it's hardly a surprise that she's interested in the well being of her fellow club members. And it shows, as does most anything Ichigo's feeling at the time.

Being very much the type to wear her heart on her sleeve, it's rarely a challenge to tell what Ichigo's feeling at any point in time. Between her body language, tone of voice, and even the things that she says, reading Ichigo's mood is no challenge. Her two most frequent emotions seem to be happy and sad, and it's rare for her to be outright angry at someone or something. Most of the time, if she's not feeling so great, she'll seek out support from someone else, which is for the best since it doesn't take much to snap her out of a bad mood most of the time. The things that tend to get her upset are also pretty simple. If life isn't quite going her way, she gets upset, though she can take minor inconveniences in stride as long as they don't pile up too quickly.

When something big happens, or if something goes awry because of Ichigo, her mood sinks quite a bit deeper than usual. With her honest and helpful nature, Ichigo likes to be seen by others as reliable, and any blunder that could ruin that image can easily cause her to question herself. She gets apathetic and lethargic the more she lets those kinds of negative thoughts swirl around in her head, no longer bothering to really put in her usual vigorous effort. Which can in turn cause her to make more mistakes, and sink further into a funk. She can theoretically snap out of these herself, but it's not a fast process by any means, so it's often better to give her the nudges needed to bring her back to her usual energetic and hard-working, hard-playing self.

    Biography:

Born into a well-off family, Ichigo lived a good childhood. While she didn't know her mother very long before the woman up and left, she was lucky enough to have a loving father, passionate about both his daughter's best interests and about gunpla. Her early interest in them was in fact due to proximity with her father, though in her younger years, she never quite understood the technical stuff. She did, however, understand how to sculpt parts. When she was seven, Ichigo's father gifted her with the tools necessary to create gunpla parts, as well as plenty of materials to get started with. Most of her early parts weren't that great, but a combination of her sharp mind and determination saw her soon doing far better than the other kids her age. Ichigo's first gunpla - Strawberry - was a custom model of her own creation, with the technical side of things being handled by her father and a trusted co-worker of his. At the ripe age of thirteen, Ichigo was confident enough between her crafting skills and years of watching pros battle that she wanted to tackle the world of gunpla battles herself.

Tragically, Strawberry was damaged beyond repair two years later when Ichigo - in an overeager rush to join Tomino High's gunpla club the day she started attending the school - ran face-first into the door and fell onto her back from the recoil, crushing her rather frail gunpla completely. For her first week with the club, Ichigo had no gunpla of her own, and for reasons he wouldn't specify, her father wouldn't let her buy or build a new one. The reason became clear however, when he gifted her with a new gunpla he made entirely on his own. Dubbed Number 2, it was an incredibly sturdy gunpla built so that Ichigo wouldn't accidentally break it, though its design was rather... painfully bland. As such, she spent the next couple of weeks prettying it up a bit while keeping the overall design intact, with her only major modification being to replace the top half of the "head" with a cockpit-like hole, complete with a little pilot sitting in it. Getting used to the slow and steady Number 2 compared to the speedy glass cannon Strawberry wasn't an easy task, but once Ichigo had gotten it down, she proved to be fairly competent at using her gunpla.

In the year since joining the club, while Ichigo hasn't exactly won any championships or anything, she's proven perfectly capable of holding her own in a gunpla battle, and also went on to become one of the school track team's finest runners. While her athletic and academic pursuits are only a second priority next to gunpla, Ichigo is confident she can continue to stay on top of all three of those.

    Gunpla:

    Coa0GVE.png

    Name: Number 2

    Model Number: NM-2

Classification: Close Quarters Combat Mobile Suit

    Armaments:

Hands: The hands of Number 2 are big, reinforced, and attached to arms that can make a full 360 degrees of rotation. This makes them the perfect tool to beat someone down with if they get within arm's reach of the gunpla.

    Equipment & Features:

Sheer Size: Number 2 is a gunpla of significant size, being considerably larger than the average gunpla model.

Glide Tail: Seeing as it doesn't have legs, this is Number 2's only means of movement. The "tail" of the gunpla is capable of generating just lift to keep Number 2 off the ground, allowing it to fly and hover around the battlefield, even if it's pretty slow due to the mech's sheer weight.

Energy Shield: The glowing bulb at the front of Number 2 is capable of producing a barrier to protect itself from attacks. This shield is mostly created to protect from frontal attacks, though fully-enclosing barriers are also possible at the cost of more energy. Most effective against projectiles.

Pilot: Purely a cosmetic modification, but one Ichigo is especially proud of. A small figurine of a mech pilot sits in the open top of Number 2, coldly staring ahead at her opponent. The name Ichigo settled on for this pilot seems to be Blueberry.

    Special Attacks:

Barrier Box: By overloading Number 2's shield generator, Ichigo can create a sizable shield around her gunpla, easily big enough to fit itself and another gunpla. The shield can be broken with some effort, but until it is, nothing gets in or out. Since this takes more energy than the shield generator can normally use at once, Number 2 won't be able to create more shields for a while after using this move.

    Misc. Info:

    • Pretty good at drawing, but her talent is mostly used up on lesbian art. Claims to actually make a decent amount of money in commissions.
    • Has been learning how to do the technical work for gunpla in recent months, as she plans to make Number 2 a better gunpla herself.

Look who decided to crawl out of the cemetery. I'm going to get some flak for this post guaranteed, but I feel everything I'm about to say simply needs to be said.

If you had just left the site because you didn't like the way it (didn't) work, and had the initiative to tell someone, that would be one thing. But you didn't, and instead ghosted in the truest fashion over a faulty site, leaving some people in the RPs you were in - myself included if nobody else - to eventually believe you died and became an actual ghost, but not before stalling for time to see if you were simply out for a bit. All the other RPers stuck around despite the site's many problems, so leaving purely because of that with the aforementioned failure to leave so much as a whisper that you were doing so? Forgive me if I'm more than a little displeased with your return, but I think you can understand why that may be.

And now you're back looking to RP again, despite the previous rounds of RPing being an apparent threat to your mental health? You must be joking.

If the other RPers want to welcome you with open arms, that's their business, but I'm not going to. I'm probably the only person who feels this way, but one way or another, I'm watching you.

    Don't do it again.

  4. Kyouko Izumi

    R2X4TKY.jpg
"I'm not looking for trouble. It's just really good at finding me is all."

    Name: Kyouko Izumi

    Gender: Female

    Age: 18

    Appearance:

    LI08Mf5.jpg

    Height: 6'0"
    Weight: 163 pounds

Generally taller than her fellow students, Kyouko carries an air and facial expression about her as if she's perfectly calm, but her body language will generally indicate otherwise. The hands in pockets, the tapping feet, everything in her body language below the neck indicates that Kyouko isn't as at-peace as she lets on. She possesses a fair skin tone, and prefers to wear baggy clothing in cool colors, possibly to hide an altogether unimpressive body. The keen eye will notice that the roots of her hair over time turn black, in a stark contrast to the sky blue she prefers to dye it. What's more, the orange color of her eyes can be attributed to colored lenses; her natural eye color is a dark blue.

Will dress for comfort rather than appearance whenever she can. She particularly likes the blue whale-print hoodie she has.

    Personality:

Deadpan and not much for small talk, Kyouko is somebody who is most at peace when people simply leave her be. As such, breaking the ice with her is kind of like fishing; you're better off sitting back and waiting for her to come to you, rather than trying to force something to happen. This comparison becomes all the more fitting when one considers her fondness for aquatic hobbies. Swimming, diving, even fishing, Kyouko is the type who enjoys activities involving the water. She's not too fond of water gun fights though, or any form of competition, even ones where there's no winner or loser. She'd rather sit down someplace quiet, eat some food, and maybe read a good book, if not find the nearest body of water and go for a swim.

Kyouko is also perfectly capable of taking care of herself, as generous sorts will quickly hear from her. She's never been a fan of hand-outs or charities, seeing them as a weird sort of insult in a world where she believes one has to fight tooth and nail for what little they have. "I'm too good at life to need this thing anymore, so you can pick up my scraps if you want them." People helping each other is fine, and Kyouko encourages it, but outright giving things to others simply rubs her the wrong way. As one might expect because of this, Kyouko is by no means a generous soul, and the most she'll simply hand to someone in most cases is their own property that she found lying around. Even on birthdays and holidays, Kyouko isn't one for giving out presents, but doesn't ask for anything either.

Although she may seem perfectly calm on the surface, however, that surface is deceptively thin, by choice or not. On top of being the sort to get easily irritated, Kyouko's mind can go into fight or flight mode with little to no warning, especially when people are involved, which is a big part of why she typically tries to avoid them. Surprise physical contact, certain phrases including just about any sort of insult, or even just raising one's voice or hand, can set her off with volatile results. In fear of letting anyone think they can control her with fear, Kyouko's default response to fight or flight situations is to fight, striking with no warning and plenty of pent-up anger. While she may do her best to be an upstanding young woman, even if she doesn't always succeed when her anger gets the better of her, it would be foolish to assume Kyouko is in any way a pushover.

    Biography:

In the game of life, some people are dealt winning hands, and some are dealt losing hands. Kyouko is very much a case of the latter. Raised in one of the more commonly-avoided neighborhoods of Ambrosia due to its unsavory nature, Kyouko's parents were no better than the rank-and-file lowlives decorating her area, try as they may have to appear otherwise. While all seemed well in the Izumi household from the outside - even if it was only at a passing glance - things within the family were very much not well. Her parents were less a married couple and more like business partners, and while Kyouko herself wasn't nearly as big or strong as a child as she is now, she still had her own share of problems at home.

While she did try to confide in a mother's love or a father's kindness when something was bothering her, Kyouko was unfortunately born into a home where those simply didn't exist. Quite the opposite, in fact; Kyouko more often found herself on the receiving end of a belt or degrading speech than any sort of warm embrace or actual reassurance. While her vicious domestic life made her highly independent from a young age, it also made her incredibly timid at first. It wasn't until second grade that Kyouko made the turn to a less cowardly nature, when confronted with a school bully. He'd raised a fist at her as an act of intimidation, and the next thing she knew, he was bleeding on the floor, some of it was on her hand, and a teacher was pulling her away from the scene. The punishment she got back home for that fight is one of her most vivid memories to this day, but it was also this incident that taught Kyouko that she could fight back.

The rest of Kyouko's run through primary school saw her go from an avenger of justice who targeted bullies to a sandbox tyrant that was even worse than the people she was trying to stop. She even got held back a year due to her violent tendencies. As her reputation got worse, so did the situation at home, leading her to lash out with even more aggression whenever she wasn't home, worsening her reputation and feeding the cycle all the more. By her final year of middle school, most students had learned to just avoid her entirely. Kyouko finally renounced her ways near the end of middle school, when Kyouko was about to let loose on a transfer student and saw the fear in their eyes. She was becoming something like her parents - something she hated - and had to spend some time to work some stuff out with herself.

A week of isolation later, Kyouko was a different person once again. While her violent tendencies hadn't gone away, her aggression had all but been swallowed up. Rumors around her neighborhood said she'd been seen all sorts of places that weren't home, even helping others sometimes. This reformed behavior came about just in time for her to finish middle school, at which point she started thinking about high school, and beyond. Frankly, she wasn't sure what she wanted to do with her life; only that she didn't want to be "her mother's/father's daughter" no matter what. To do that, she had to get away from home, and for that, Blue Yonder seemed like her best choice. It was far from home and had dorms she could live in. It was a dueling school though, and Kyouko didn't know how to duel. Once she looked around a bit though, getting into the game wasn't too hard. Venturing just a bit out of her neighborhood met her with a group of kids who dueled all the time, one of whom was even able to provide Kyouko with a cheap deck made of "leftover cards I didn't want and can't sell".

So now she could duel, had been trying to reform her behavior, and was looking to forcibly steer her future in a better direction. She was just barely able to join Blue Yonder, and wasted no time in packing her things and getting the hell away from home. Her record was pretty dodgy at first, but she managed to avoid expulsion long enough to get her act about as together as she could manage. With this being her final year at Blue Yonder, however, she's getting concerned about what comes next once she graduates. Assuming she does at all.

  5. Ultimate Storm Chaser

    Spoiler

    SHQlDVk.jpg
"Honestly? Mother Nature is scary as hell. That's why I love her when she's angry."

    Name: Aya Kuroi
    Gender: Female
    Ultimate Talent: Ultimate Storm Chaser
    Birthday: June 18th

    Appearance:

    Spoiler

    Uc2ZKGn.jpg

Standing at 5'5" and weighing 141 pounds, Aya is a remarkably normal-looking girl for the most part. Short dark hair hangs around her head, and her body features range from normal to lackluster. Most of the abnormalities with Aya's appearance have to do with her skin. She's a rather tanned girl, being someone who spends most of her free time outdoors. More notable, however, is a large lichtenberg scar on the right side of Aya's body. This scar starts on her face, just next to her eye, then passes by her ear before heading down across her neck and shoulder, finally sprawling out across most the length of her arm.

Although she'll typically wear a yellow rain jacket above her clothes, Aya did take care to pack other articles of rain gear for if she gets to go storm chasing somewhere near Hope's Peak. And her trusty camera, of course.

    Personality:

    Spoiler

As one might expect from the Ultimate Storm Chaser, Aya is a daredevil, plain and simple. She lives for the thrill of danger, and combined with her outdoorsy nature, storm chasing was naturally going to be right up her alley. Watching the full wrath of nature awakens a deep passion in Aya's heart that nothing else can ever hope to match. While other forms of danger get her excited too, she finds that there's no source of danger quite as thrilling as Mother Nature herself. While she doesn't mind waiting for her next fix of danger, Aya can get impatient if she's left hanging for too long, or even worse, if the wait and build-up was for nothing. As a fortunate side-effect of this, Aya is exceptionally good at keeping promises and is pretty punctual, since she understands that being left hanging sucks. Although she's interested in her personal enjoyment first and foremost, Aya will seldom hesitate to back someone up if they need it for the same reason.

She isn't the life of the party by any means, but Aya tries to get along well with others and avoid trouble. She'll likely start the conversation herself too, as Aya isn't much for waiting outside of her storm chasing hobby. Due to a brain injury she sustained once from a lightning strike, Aya may also have random periods of time where her brain simply doesn't retain any new information. To compensate for these "blank spots", Aya makes a point to take notes about her surroundings often. It's not unheard of for her to ask the same question more than once in a short span of time because of this,

Even before being dubbed the Ultimate Storm Chaser, Aya took a distinct amount of pride in her work. It was her childhood dream, so of course she's more than happy to recall her tales from the storms she's chased. This hobby is her greatest passion and her life, and she can't imagine a life lived without it. She has noted, however, that it's become a rather lonely job in the last couple of years, and perhaps because of it, she's quick to form emotional bonds with others, and values those bonds greatly.

    Biography:

    Spoiler

Depending on who within the storm chasing community you ask, Aya is either a fearless legend, a relentless thrill-seeker, or a maniac with a death wish. Her parents were storm chasers, Aya loved the outdoors, and much of her family were thrill-seekers in their own way, so the fact that she took to the hobby is hardly a surprise. While most children cowered under their blankets during a thunderstorm, a young Aya was always rushing outside for them, eager to witness everything first-hand. While this gave her some bumps and bruises growing up, most notably when she was struck by lightning on her fifteenth birthday, Aya went on to become nothing short of a legend in the storm chaser community. There were a few reasons for this.

Most notoriously, Aya was always willing to rush into the heart of the storm, eager to take shots that even most veterans with decades under their belts would get nervous about. Because Aya was willing to get footage that everyone else had too much regard for their life to film, she was able to get footage that no other storm chaser had available. Which meant that - on top of being the only source for some footage, prompting a considerable following - she was able to sell her one-of-a-kind records to any interested party for whatever she deemed fair. With profit came better equipment, which meant better records which led to further profit. While she certainly wasn't the most wealthy storm chaser, as most of her profits went directly into her family, Aya was by far the most successful. So far ahead of other top storm chasers was Aya in fact, that she was dubbed by Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Storm Chaser, an update which sparked some ire from older veterans due to her young age.

Whether they liked it or not however, Aya had them beat, simply due to her lack of fear and what seemed like zero concern on if she lived or died in a storm. Upon graduating from the academy, Aya intends to continue pursuing her hobbies, same as usual. In fact, the only reason she's attending at all is because her family insisted.

  6. Keanot

    0NANiEd.png
"The inner beauty thing doesn't count if you're ugly."

    Name: Nani
    Species: Mimikyu
    Gender: Female
    Age: 17
    Birthday: July 8th
    Favored Legend: Tapu Lele

    Appearance:

    bS4Xkil.jpg

    Height: 5'6"
    Weight:

Beneath her hood is a face Nani would describe as "if you let a three-year-old use an axe to make a jack-o-lantern then the parents got scared of it and set it on fire". Her eyes seem to be yellow, which one can find out for themselves if they look closely at the eye covers of her hood.

    Personality:

Nani is someone who ultimately craves positive attention and companionship. This is easier said than done, as Nani's social skills are mediocre at best because she's always afraid of botching it and making someone hate her. She can't start conversations for the life of her, and would rather sit in a small space out of sight from everyone else. This leads to a situation where, because she didn't have much social interaction growing up, Nani doesn't understand common social rules like "sometimes you're supposed to lie to make the other person feel better" or other little things. This can make Nani come off as rude; if she thinks that dress makes you look fat, and you ask, she's going to say so. Inversely, if she asks how something makes her look and she thinks it makes her look hideous, she'll think someone's lying to her if they say otherwise, and tell them not to lie just to make her feel better. Whatever clothing it is, Nani probably thinks she looks awful in it.

As one might expect of a Mimikyu, there's nothing that truly disgusts Nani quite like her own body. Keeping it hidden is a service to the world, and she will keep her ugly appearance hidden at all costs. Any attempts to reveal her face to others will be resisted, violently if need be, because getting into a fight is just better than letting someone foolishly learn about just what lurks beneath Nani's costume. She can be a bit of a pushover sometimes, but if there's one thing Nani is endlessly adamant about, it's that her her appearance - the face especially - should remain hidden. This is her service to the people around her.

Speaking of service, while she may not be a social butterfly, Nani's a pretty good helper. Helping people makes her feel good, and she also gets their gratitude and approval, so that makes it double good. Of course, given her poor social skills, this tends to make Nani the type who hears about or sees a person in need in passing then acts upon that, rather than actively asking people if anything needs doing. While she makes an active effort to be helpful to those around her, Nani also takes special care not to do anything that might overstep her boundaries. She'd hate to try and help someone just to make them upset, after all.

    Biography:

Nani doesn't know her family. Left on a rich family's doorstep as an infant, all she knows is that the family she grew up with was friends with her mother, who wouldn't have been able to provide for Nani. As one might expect of a Mimikyu gijinka, Nani's was a rather ghastly face, which she didn't really think about all that much for the first few years of her life, having had a rather sheltered infancy. It was when she was ready to spread her wings and meet other kids that Nani learned more about herself. Specifically, she was hideous. Born with a face only a mother could love, Nani soon learned that others would avoid or mock her because of her appearance. Part of her was sad. Part of her was angry. Most of her, though, wanted to make it work with the other kids as best she could. Even if she had to hide her face for it.

At first, Nani's "disguise" was merely a potato sack with some holes cut in it so she could see and breathe. It wasn't pretty, but she was confident it was prettier than she was, and once people didn't have to look her in the face anymore, Nani's relationship with the other kids grew from distasteful to neutral. It wasn't the dream of having lots of friends like some people had, but it was a step in the right direction. And so, Nani took up sewing and such as hobbies, crafting new costumes so that she could at least look better than a potato sack. The vast majority of Nani's costumes wound up being designed somewhat like a Pikachu, though whether this is because the most popular girl in town was a Pikachu, or if it's some bizarre genetic inclination among Mimikyu as a species, is unclear.

Whatever the case, by age 17, Nani had a whopping two people who were almost friends. A combination of her social awkwardness, those two people having other friends, and not wanting to bother them if they were in the middle of something, made befriending anyone particularly difficult. However, Nani never got to make them officially her friends. One night, strange beasts invaded the Alola Region while she and her family were taking a short trip to a different city. Nani never got a good look at them. She was supposed to get to the boats out of Alola, and she simply got on the first one she could find. This boat, as it turned out, did not have her family on it. Rather, it had a small group of gijinka she'd never seen before, and even the patron legendaries of the region itself!

Needless to say, Nani made sure to stay out of the way, and keep very, very quiet, whilst on the boat. It gave her the spare time to fix the rips and tears her clothes had developed as well. Once the boat had hit land, Nani couldn't find it in her to split off from these people she'd never even spoken to, but introducing herself after all this time where she wasn't even sure if they knew she existed would definitely come off as creepy. And so, in the time since arriving, Nani has simply been following in their footsteps, quietly, and keeping out of sight. She'd hate to cause trouble, after all.

    Level: 32 (30)

Ability: Disguise - A strange ability only Mimikyu knows, which protects its otherwise frail body with a spectral forcefield. This forcefield can absorb one attack before being broken, but it takes too long to recharge to be brought back up in the middle of a fight.

    Moves:
Shadow Sneak - Nani slips into the shadows, emerging behind the target before striking at them. This attack is fast enough that Nani will generally be able to use it before the rest of the attacks land.

Play Rough - Nani gets rough with her target, hitting them and stuff with fairy power, but it's all in good fun (it probably isn't) so that's nice. So nice in fact that the enemy might let their guard down, lowering their attack.

Mimic - Nani copies the last move used by a gijinka of her choosing. She takes extra-special care to make note of the move, enough so that Mimic is replaced with that move for the rest of the fight.

Copycat - Nani copies the last move used in the fight. Unlike Mimic, where she takes mental note of how to do it, she just does this on the fly, so Copycat doesn't get replaced with another move like Mimic does.

Thunder Wave - Nani shoots out circular pulses of electricity toward her target. They don't hurt, but they can slow the movements of her target and sometimes stop them entirely.

Spectre Bone - An attack Nani ended up developing by continually mimicking the Marowaks in her area. Nani creates and throws a shadowy bone at the target, which passes through the target and deals damage, before returning to Nani during the next turn, dealing damage a second time. Because its damage is based on how hard Nani throws the bone, this is a physical move. (Base Power: 50)

    Possessions:

    500 Poké
    Good Rod
    1 Potion
    1 Antidote
    1 Kasib Berry

    Misc. Info:

    • Has a distinct fondness for ground-types.
    • Very flexible! Disturbingly so...
    • Terrible cook, but great baker. Kasib Berry pie is her best dish. Might be because Kasib Berries are her favorite food.
    • Likes snakes and spiders, because they also are disliked for their appearance but don't judge Nani because of her own.
    • Severely dyslexic, to the point where Nani pretty much can't read at all.

  7. Bitter Breeder

    jXqOx2A.jpg
"Your Pokémon really likes you. It must have pretty low standards."

    Name: Kanon Suzuki

    Gender: Female

    Age: 17

    Hometown: Fortree City, Hoenn

    Appearance:

    cwmR0VZ.jpg
    Height: 5'6"
    Weight: 136 pounds

Commonly wears the blue-green raincoat and thigh-high rubber boots depicted above. Umbrella not included.

    Personality:

People tend to not like Kanon. That's entirely her fault; being a rather unpleasant girl, Kanon has a habit of shoving human interaction away, and acts harsh, bitter, and somewhat malicious when dealing with people. She wants nothing to do with others, preferring to be left alone so she can do her own thing. Shitty person though she may be however, Kanon should not be assumed to be a shitty human being. She's the sort of person who would donate millions to charity if she could, but would make sure to do it anonymously so that people won't come to her singing praises about her generosity. She may even compliment people from time to time, but it's rare for her to not immediately follow it up by spinning it in some weird way to make it an insult instead. Cutting out all the bitchiness in Kanon leaves a heart of gold who wants the best for everyone, even if she won't admit it. In the same vein, she'll appreciate being looked out for, but doesn't want people to expect praise for it or to really do it for any reason other than because it would be the right thing to do.

What she lacks in people skills, however, Kanon more than makes up for with her talent in handling Pokémon. While she can be harsh with people, Pokémon are an entirely different story. Although they generally can't speak with words like she can, Kanon could hold a conversation for days with a Pokémon friend, and will devoutly study how to best care for each and every species known to man. As one could expect, she takes the mistreatment of Pokémon very seriously, and she's not afraid to intervene if she thinks one might be in danger. Already being something of a harsh girl, Kanon isn't afraid to tell somebody straight to their face that they're putting Pokémon in danger, then work to get the party in question to stop whatever's endangering them. She'd rather not battle for it though, as although Kanon acknowledges the importance of Pokémon battles - both for the Pokémon and their trainers - she believes such battles should be recreational and/or competitive, and not a means to push one's ideology. The nitty-gritty detailed stuff like that is part of why Kanon generally dislikes human interaction.

As a general rule, Kanon feels more at home the more surrounded by nature she is. She'd rather spend a night camping in the woods than sleeping in a five-star resort, and can get a bit claustrophobic while indoors. She isn't overly fond of caves either, but she can manage just fine as long as she can see an exit. Bat-like Pokémon can easily startle her as well, especially in caves, though calling her outright afraid of them would be wrong; she just needs to get used to them being there is all. Her ideal location is a clearing deep in a forest, where people will leave her alone and where Pokémon live peaceful, happy lives. Because of this fondness for nature, Kanon is best approached when surrounded by it. She might even show somebody a smile, even if it doesn't last for very long before returning to her usual serious expression.

Since Kanon's spent most of her life with relatively low amounts of human interaction, it can be hard for her to pick up on social cues sometimes. This makes her great at telling people things that need to be said without fear of hurting somebody's feelings, and most statements that aren't direct and to-the-point tend to either bounce off her completely or go right over her head. While she can be a bit frail physically, having a rather low threshold for pain, Kanon's mental and emotional strength more than makes up for it. Bearing nerves of steel and an iron will, Kanon is the type of person who will set a goal, then keep getting up to continue toward it no matter how many times life knocks her down.

Kanon's biggest goal in life is to become a world-class breeder.

    Biography:

Born in Fortree City, Kanon's was a life rich in Pokémon interaction. Her mother was an adventuring trainer who settled down to raise a child, and her father worked at the nearby weather institute. With both of her parents being active members of Fortree's community, it left Kanon with lots of time to herself and her mother's trusty Houndoom, who despite appearances, was one of the sweetest creatures in town. Mrs. Suzuki's Houndoom always guarded the house and Kanon herself, being as much a part of the family to her as her mother or father. Any Pokémon Kanon was lucky enough to meet was a friend to her, as far as she was concerned, and it wasn't uncommon for her and Houndoom to explore nearby Routes 119 and 120 in search of new friends in the wild. If something was in fact not friendly and meant harm to Kanon, Houndoom had her back, and if Houndoom - in its old age - was ever tired and needed to take a nap, Kanon didn't mind waiting patiently for it to wake up. Kanon spent so much time bonding with Pokémon in the wild that it didn't leave her much time for human interaction, and virtually none outside of her family.

Despite her growing skills at bonding with wild Pokémon, however, Kanon never really met one that felt like a companion she could call her very own. No matter how many times she and Houndoom left Fortree to explore the nearby wilderness, and no matter how many wild Pokémon the two met together, Kanon never managed to meet a Pokémon willing to join her for more than some pleasant interactions before parting ways for a while. She also refused to be just given one as if Pokémon were material possessions of some sort, leaving her mother's Houndoom as "her" only partner for her entire life in Hoenn. Eventually, Kanon's attention was directed beyond Hoenn, toward the Korova Region.

It was a place she hadn't really heard of before. There were surely new types of Pokémon to meet, she figured, and the trip was being paid for by Korova's Pokémon League. It seemed as fitting a start to an adventure as any, and so Kanon packed her things, bound for Korova. She had fully intended to arrive without a Pokémon and catch one once she arrived, but her "plan" was thrown astray during her boat trip. During a storm at sea, Kanon heard something hit her door, likely carried in by the wind or waves. She opened her door to find a Poliwag, somewhat injured, before hurriedly bringing the Pokémon in and shutting the door. Kanon spent most of the remainder of her voyage nursing the Poliwag back to health herself, since she had no Pokéball to store it in for the absolutely more efficient healing machines on-deck, similar to ones seen in Pokémon Centers. Her efforts paid off though, as a few days before arriving at Korova, Poliwag was healthy as could be, and had grown quite attached to its human savior. Even when she tried to return it to the water where it came from, Poliwag stuck by Kanon's side.

With her very first companion of her own in tow, Kanon has set her sights toward the Korova Region, ready to tackle whatever the region has in store for her.

    Starting Pokémon:

    Pokémon: Poliwag
    Name: Bubbles

Appearance: Looks a little beaten-up due to some small scars and bruises that haven't gone away, but is in much better shape than when Kanon met him
Personality: Bubbles is a timid creature who isn't really one for fighting or meeting new people. However, he's a loyal friend - especially to Kanon - who doesn't mind going a bit out of his comfort zone if he's got someone reliable at his back. Still getting used to Pokéballs, and prefers to spend his time outside of them.
Method of Catching/Length of owning: Encountered and was nursed by Kanon during her boat ride to Korova.

Thanks for the effort though Torm ^^

Even if it doesn't, we can still use color codes, and all the old colors are now here for ease of reference. Honestly the more I look at it, the more this may have just been more a matter of getting the hexes at all than having Torm go through the trouble of editing the post editor.

  9. First!

    The Ice Queen

    GXycXid.jpg
    "Chilly today, ain't it?"

    Name: Aurora Burns

    Age: 15

    Gender: Female

    Appearance:

    ZXiuEfM.jpg
    Height: 5'3"
    Weight: 102 pounds

    Personality:

Aurora is a confident young woman who keeps her eyes set on her goals and tackles each step toward them with certainty that she'll come out on top. While not much of a leader, Aurora is quite skilled in motivating others and thinking on her toes. She's not at all afraid of taking risks, but is prone to being too sure of her decisions. She'll think of one course of action, then take it, disregarding any arguments otherwise. This can get her in tight spots often, but even if it does, it's very rare for Aurora to lose hope and give up. She'll keep tackling her challenge with a smile until she inevitably emerges victorious, then move on to the next thing.

Above all else, her top priority is helping others. She aspires to become a great hero, and her ambition drives her to help anyone in trouble, no matter how trivial it may be. She really just wants what's best for those around her, with a particular priority on those close to her. Harming her friends or family is an easy way to make yourself her number-one target. Becoming a threat to the public in general isn't much better. If she thinks she can do something about it (she always will), Aurora will show up at the scene of the crime and do her best to bring the bad guys to justice. Danger be damned! That said, she won't use her powers for violence against just anybody. It takes something really serious to prompt Aurora to such an action. She's actually quite reluctant to use her Fragment at all, due to its adverse effects on her.

That said, for someone her age, Aurora has some surprisingly childish or otherwise unbecoming tendencies. Most notably, she absolutely adores goats, and will obsessively collect any goat-themed items she comes across. She'll guard her collection fiercely, and if she catches wind of a limited-edition item, Aurora will most likely go out of her way to get her hands on it.

Of course, Aurora can go a bit overboard with her confidence sometimes. Every now and then her power can get to her head and cause a short bout of arrogance. She's also known to make underhanded decisions if the norm won't cut it, and is too eager to keep secrets from others. While she's selfless and forthcoming - albeit a little stubborn - at best, she can be deceitful and violent at worst.

    Biography:

Aurora was born to an upper-middle class family, and is the only child of a rather successful lawyer and her husband, the gourmet chef. By the time Aurora was born, her folks were financially ready to raise a child, keep the lights on and the tummies full, and still have some cash to spare. Good thing too, since Aurora was born with such a powerful Fragment that it had to remain in constant use to keep her frigid powers from building up inside her and actually freezing her to death from the inside out. As a result, since the moment she exited her mother's womb, the air around her would constantly find itself getting colder. This meant several new financial requirements on top of the standard fare of raising a child.

Hot meals and drinks were a must. Heavy blankets and heaters were required while she slept to keep her room warm. Even in the dead of summer, Aurora had to dress warmly. The thermostat in the Burns house had to be kept higher than normal not only to slow down her powers, but warm a room back up faster after she left. And of course, the fireplace got to see plenty of use year-round. While Aurora's financial impact wasn't so massive that the Burns family was losing more money than they made, she certainly did quite a number on their spare income. Despite the hurdles her Fragment presented, Aurora grew up happy, and eventually got old enough for school. Problem being, public schools simply weren't equipped to deal with her, and no private school in the area was willing to work around one student as much as Aurora required. In the end, her parents hired a willing tutor, and Aurora was homeschooled. One very strict lesson was responsibility. It was something her tutor and parents very strongly reinforced in her, teaching her that her powers weren't to be used for violence. To this day, these lessons have played a huge role in Aurora's life, and she has yet to betray them.

The people of the outside world generally tried to avoid her. It could have been any combination of reasons, most involving an unwillingness to deal with the cold air she brought, or being afraid of her power. However, despite it all, there was one place Aurora liked to go when summer had come and the sun pulled out all the stops. The park. Some people welcomed her with open arms as a relief from the sweltering heat of Texan summers. Others, either jealous or afraid of her, weren't so hospitable, often trying to chase her away and/or make her not want to return. Well, one day at the young age of 6, the latter sorts became hostile. They were entirely ready to attack Aurora once they realized she wouldn't fight back. That was the day she met who would become her best friend.

A boy had intervened, telling the hostile kids to stop. When they didn't listen, he casually tossed one a good dozen feet into the sandbox, as a warning to the rest. The assailants all left uninjured, and the two spent the next hour or so playing together before Aurora ultimately had to return home. They exchanged names and agreed to meet up again tomorrow. That boy's name was August Adler, and he stuck to his word the following day. And the day after that, and the day after that, and so on.

The days passed and became weeks, eventually becoming months, then years. August became Aurora's one friend in the real world, and one of the very few who entered the Burns house to see her. At the age of ten, he came with an idea. An idea to become a hero. An idea Aurora was completely in favor of. An agreement was made, that the two would work hard to be able to someday enter Mar-Vell together and become heroes, and in exchange, Aurora's family would pay for August's transportation; financial burdens like that were the last thing August's folks needed.

Fast-forward a few years. Aurora and August both met the requirements to join Mar-Vell, and as promised, the Burns family paid for transportation for the both of them. One lengthy train ride and a taxi cab later, and the two took their entrance exam, with both Aurora and August passing. Now that they've taken their first year of high school, they're back again for round two.

    Alias: Arctica
    Quantum Classification: Water/Air
    Quantum Fragment: Absolute Zero

    Appearance (Hero):

Unlike the ever-so-common bodysuits that leave little to the imagination, Arctica's costume leaves more or less everything up in the air. The primary feature of the costume is a pale blue hooded winter coat made of leather, that reaches down to the knees and has a very heavy white fur trim and interior. Arctica's footwear of choice is a pair of black boots that reach almost up to the knee, and feature a similar fur trim & interior. The keen observer will notice a pair of thick, pale blue leather snow pants under the coat and boots. Her hands are covered by thick white velvet gloves that reach under the coat and go up to her elbows.

Arctica's face is concealed mostly by a thick white fur scarf that wraps around the mouth and nose. Her eyes are concealed by a pair of goggles with black-tinted lenses. It can't be seen under the rest of her costume, but there is a surgical mask between Arctica's face and her scarf after she got fed up with fur sticking to her face. Also unviewable under her costume is a rather thick cotton bodysuit worn under the rest of her costume for extra insulation.

    Abilities:

Aurora has the power to conjure ice, cold air, and so on. More importantly, her Fragment is extremely potent, to such an extent that she physically cannot contain the full extent of her power without the risk of freezing herself to death from the inside out. As a result, her Fragment is under constant - albeit light - use, creating an aura of cold air around her at all times. More thorough application of her Fragment can create gusts of freezing air, but will also adversely affect Aurora as well. Overuse can and most likely will result in hypothermia or worse.

After some tests performed in very specifically-prepared environments, it's been concluded that Aurora is capable of generating blizzards with storm-force winds that blow at speeds of up to 68mph (109kmph), and at her peak can create temperatures as low as -207 degrees Fahrenheit (-97 degrees Celsius). The creation of ice is also possible with this power for various purposes. Stronger applications of the power wear on Aurora's health faster. For instance, she could slowly lower the temperature around her until it reaches a hazardously cold level and be none the worse for wear, or do it in the course of a few short seconds but suffer acute hypothermia and probable frostbite as a side effect.

Aurora keeps her Fragment under constant use, but only a little bit. As a result, the air around her graudally gets colder, stopping at about 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-7 degrees Celsius) and lowering at a rate of 1 degree Fahrenheit (roughly .5 degrees Celsius) per second.

    Misc.

    • Carries a snowflake-pattern bag with her at all times. This bag contains a scarf, a fur-trimmed hat, a winter capelet, a pair of wool gloves, and no less than five thermoses of hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is made by Aurora every morning and immediately after school. The purpose of this bag's contents is to keep those who will be around her for extended periods of time warm, if they didn't come prepared.
    • Sleeps accompanied by an electric blanket and a trio of space heaters, as well as her prized possession; a 3-foot plush goat. Yes, she knows how excessive it sounds.
    • Aurora's already had her entire life thus far to learn how to control her Fragment just in order to live semi-normally. It's about as controlled as it can get as of now. While this means Aurora's considerably more powerful than most people her age, it also means she's already gotten as good as she can get, and has no further room for powering up.

  10. I don't usually care for toppings, but chicken pizza is pretty good stuff.  I can tolerate pepperoni but would prefer not to have it, and can't really think of other toppings I'll eat at all, so chicken it is.

So far so good! The cannibal crew was down to just the one Skuntank - Nani was still pretty sure he was the leader - and while he seemed to want a big slice of Nani-cake for himself, it was just him against both Nani and her... friends? It wasn't too soon to call them that, right? As much as Nani wanted to ask about that, there were bigger priorities right now. Namely, the Skuntank gunning for her buns. Nani had a bit of a plan, and while she didn't want to have to get hit for it, it was best to let him get into point-blank range, right? And so, she waited for the Skuntank to reach her, bracing herself for the impact.

And once she felt it, Nani clapped her hands onto the Skuntank's face, discharging waves of electricity from them and directly into the Skuntank. "Surprise! A Thunder Wave for being the last man standing!" With that, the Mimikyu hurriedly climbed up onto the Skuntank's shoulders, leaping away back toward the rest of her team. She was hurting, and didn't particularly want to take another hit, but surely with the Skuntank slowed down, everyone else could clean him up, right?

  13. Wholesome Batto

    Name: Hibiki Himura

    Age: 15

    Gender: Female

    Appearance:

    akjf6b3.jpg
    Height: 5'2"
    Weight: 109 pounds
Wingspan (at the start of the RP): 2'4"

    Personality:

Bright and inquisitive, Hibiki is someone who sees the world as a place full of wonder and joy, even if not everything about it is perfect. She's fully aware that it's not perfect - heroes wouldn't be necessary if it was, after all! - but that's why she wants to try and make it a better place, one little step at a time. Even on a dark and gloomy day, Hibiki will do her best to stay in high spirits and make the most of whatever comes her way. Perhaps as a result of this habit of seeking out the silver lining, Hibiki is also a notably opportunistic sort, and isn't the type to let special chances pass her by.

    Biography:

Hibiki's parents often told her, "The day you were born, the heavens split open to celebrate your arrival." Born one rainy summer day in the southernmost reaches of Japan, Hibiki grew up the younger of a pair of twin sisters with a loving family. While technically identical twins, however, one of them had wings, and bat ears sticking from her head. Hibiki was born with a mutant-type Quirk, and was the first in her family to develop a Quirk at all. Her parents, while wary of Quirks, tried their best to ignore it and raise her like any other girl. Where Hibiki was, her twin sister Hikari was seldom far. At the age of four, Hikari developed a Quirk of their own. Hikari became able to emit light, while Hibiki's body continued taking on its bat-like qualities. Their abilities were different, but the twins were still very much one in spirit.

While it was simple enough for Hikari to just not use her Quirk and continue living normally, Hibiki was never given that luxury what with the wings and ears. However, she wanted to put her gifts to use somehow. Figuring out how was a challenge at first, but one day, it hit her, when she saw a hero dealing with some bad guys in person one starry evening. She wanted to be like that! Helping people with her Quirk seemed like a great idea, and the money and appreciation was also a nice little bonus. While Hikari didn't share her dream, it was fine. And best of all, a school had just opened up specifically to train heroes!

Hibiki trained what she could in the short time between deciding on her goal and the entrance exams for the brand-new U.A. Academy. While she wasn't as powerful as other students - she couldn't even fly, despite having wings - Hibiki's sheer effort and passion saw her get a passing grade. Without missing a beat, she went home, said her goodbyes, and packed her stuff, taking the train ride back to U.A. to live in the dorms.

It's not much of a first step, but being renowned as a hero that saves people in their time of need has to start somewhere, right?

    Quirk:

Bat: Hibiki has a mutant-type Quirk that gives her various qualities of a bat! These include...

Wings: A pair of leathery wings sprouting from Hibiki's back! However, she's never actually used them, and so they're far smaller and weaker than they should be. It's speculated that exercising her wings will make them bigger and let her properly fly.

Bat senses: Hibiki's ears are much better than a human's, able to both withstand much higher levels of sound without damage and pick up on frequencies vastly higher than what the human ear can perceive. As something of a trade-off, however, Hibiki's eyesight suffers in anything more than dim lighting. She's virtually blind in broad daylight, but sunglasses can help alleviate this.

Advanced Circulation/Respiration: Having superior bat-like circulatory and respiratory systems means tiring Hibiki out is nearly impossible. These systems were meant to let her take on the taxing activity of flight for extended durations, but a convenient side-benefit is that this lets her do ground activities nigh-indefinitely.

Fangs: Hibiki's upper canines are longer than normal, and much like the teeth of a vampire bat, lack enamel, keeping them razor-sharp. These allow Hibiki to bite clean through the flesh of most animals and suck their blood. It seems her body reacts to ingested blood similarly to an energy drink, but she doesn't like drinking blood.

Bat screams: Much like a real bat, Hibiki is capable of unleashing her voice at incredible and outright dangerous levels, far beyond what a regular person is capable of. Additionally, Hibiki can emit sound waves at a much higher frequency than what human ears can perceive. These high-frequency waves are used for echolocation, which in turn lets her get a pretty clear picture of her surroundings, while her louder screams can be used as weaponized sound.

    Misc

Favorite food is oranges. She'll eat them without even peeling them!

Although she and Hikari are identical twins, Hibiki is shorter by a notable margin. This lowered height is presumably a result of her Quirk.
