well... i wasn't thinking an actual star, given that the mass of all humans would fit into the size of a sugar cube (roughly) in neutron star matter - i was thinking it would be closet to that. was i wrong?

idk what you meant, but in any case, anything with that much mass at that size would fuck with the space around it cause in order to stay that dense, it needs to remain compressed with a massive amount of force, but I assume this battle is taking place in a survivable environment, in which case the compression would be compromised by the atmosphere and the star matter would just explode and destroy everything in its radius

so I guess technically it'd be a draw, unless I'm mistaken

    Yep lol

comparing pokemon to anything non-pokemon is difficult cause pokemon rules and such are kind of contradictory and vague (which is fine for what it is)

the lion side is just more fun for me to try and argue fufufu

same lol, trying to compare the pokemon is just too much of a hassle, plus imagining the lions straight-up WWZing it is just way too funny albeit terrifying

I find it weird to say "if PP exists lions would win so it doesn't exist" but alright

Also the ghost thing is kinda silly given its iffy if ghost pokemon are or are not actually dead spirits so lions coming back...idk

As far as not being limited by statistics of the game then the issue becomes "How comparable is a lion to a Pokemon" which, given the closest equivalent we have is Pyroar which is half the size of a lion in our world, might be more comparable than people think

The ranged attack thing is an issue I still have in that we don't know the range of said attacks so its hard to be certain

also the conclusion sounds like cartoon logic which is weird given the other points they made

idk this whole debate depends on a lot of things and I doubt any conclusions can be made given how there either needs to be all the logic in order for there to be a proper comparison

  4. Alright, let's do some math, shall we?

First, we'll assume the lions in question are all male, so the average weight of each lion would be about 420 lbs, converted to a mass of 190.5 kg, so the total mass of the lions would add up to 190.5 billion kg.

Next, let's look at the mass of the smallest neutron star. The one in question has a Schwarzschild Radius of 2.6 km, which equates to 0.8802 suns. For the sake of brevity, that amounts to roughly 1.75e30 (1.75 x 10^30) kg.

To put that in perspective, if we divide 1.905e11 by 1.75e30, and apply that ratio to the 2.6 km radius of the smallest known neutron star, that means the star the lions are up against would be 2.8e-14 cm in radius, creating a gravitational field with a pull of 1.59e34 m/s^2, about 1.61e31 times Earth's gravity.

So the lions would essentially be up against what's really damn close to a black hole, which would absolutely CRUSH all those lions to a fine paste before they're incinerated to dust by the star's solar energy.

EDIT: Another thing to note would be that whatever mass from the lions compiled around the nugget would likely cause a decrease in the energy required to keep it compressed, causing it to explode. So whatever lions weren't already crushed by its gravity would just be blasted to oblivion by the nova.

So yeah, I'd say the star wins. Thoughts?

  5. I like this article on this debate:

    https://pchcorral.com/13212/opinions/one-billion-lions-vs-all-pokemon/

A few key points it mentions:

    1. This guy rules out legendaries because, in a world where their abilities measure up to their godlike power without the limitations of gameplay, they would easily win.
    2. The battle does NOT play out like a Pokemon battle, meaning it isn't a successive XvX format and is not limited by the statistics and algorithms of the game. This is a full-on clash in an open field, flying Pokemon CAN fly, and Pokemon have unlimited PP, cause this is a battle of strength, not endurance. If it were the latter, lions would undoubtedly win due to the sheer numbers.
    3. They include the fact that if ghost-type Pokemon exist, that means ghosts exist, meaning that if a lion dies, the ghost of that lion can appear and fight in their place.

One thing in particular I don't agree with is that flying Pokemon have to make contact with the lions to harm them. Not true. There are plenty of flying-type Pokemon with ranged attacks, so that would give them an advantage.

However, considering the logic behind ghosts, ghost-type attacks can technically hit other creatures, meaning the ghosts of lions can fly up and fight them. However, only normal-type attacks don't affect ghosts, so non-normal attacks are able to damage ghosts.

In that regard, this person still believes lions would win, and they mention the mob mentality of worker ants using each other to bridge gaps both vertically (flying types) and horizontally (terraforming moves) as well as form rafts to float in a flooded environment (surf), etc. Basically these lions, with one goal in mind, would be like World War Z and essentially act as one fluid unit over a million to one, and if you include the logic with ghosts, that just means they literally can't be reduced in numbers.

    Thoughts?

Good thing they aren't battling a big lion, and instead are battling a ton of little bitch lions.

Not to mention that a lion that big would die of its own mass, crushing its bones under its immense weight while its metabolic processes cook it alive.

Also the length wouldn't scale linearly. You're calculating the length of a rope made out of lion, not a giant lion.

So no one wins, the giant lion just dies and there's no battle cause the normal lions didn't do shit lol

Literally god who can cast his light of judgement....which doesn't always knock out even non-legendary pokemon

and who can be caught like any other pokemon

If it's set up like a Pokemon battle, what are the stats and movesets of the lions? And all the Pokemon?

Also, can the lions use masterballs? lol

I've started actually collecting physical MTG cards to use in the future, and while it's not like I've got anything super rare right now, I've got some stuff that actually is pretty nice to have.

From Zendikar I got a alt art, foil Lotus Cobra which isn't worth much but it is super pretty and I can use it in some decks. Miraug, Fury of Akoum is nice to have, and I got a foil Brightclimb Pathway which isn't amazing but still neat to have. The World Tree from Kaldhiem and I managed to snag two Jumpstart packs just a few days ago with Rise of the Dark Realms and Oracle of Mul Daya... So for a collection that started with Zendikar Rising, I'm actually pretty happy with some of the stuff I've managed to snag.

Actually, I kinda forgot from Kaldhiem that I got a Tyvar Kell, Alt art Tergrid, and Koma, Cosmos Serpant which is a commander I would like to build someday.

I've been meaning to go through all my cards and see what they're worth, cause I don't play anymore so I might as well. I know I have a Liliana somewhere that I should sleeve, as well as a few mythicals. I should also take extra care of the all-foil Sliver deck I have.

Either way, the art for those cards is in itself a reason to collect cards. They're so good!

  9. EDIT: This was originally semi-hypothetical for what collections you would want to have if given the opportunity, but this might as well just be about collections in general.

I believe I've mentioned I never cared to collect stuff, cause it can be pretty pricey and I tend to sell stuff I don't use, but after recently collecting 1:64 diecast cars, I gotta admit once you get into it, it can get pretty addicting.

Anyone else collecting anything? Anything anyone wants to collect? If so, what and why?

As for me, the announcement of Hot Wheels Unleashed had me missing my Hot Wheels collection I had as a kid, so I just decided to buy someone's collection off Ebay. Next thing I know, I'm looking for any good lot I could find and ended up winning an auction for a bunch more. Now I have a vision of lining up my bedroom walls with cars.

  10. There's a lot of stuff I sold that I wish I hadn't, though most of the time it was just my parents trying to get rid of stuff and making us some pocket money. But the stuff I regret most is the stuff I sold just to get rid of thinking the money would help in times where I was in a bind, and it usually didn't.

First thing that comes to mind is my Gamecube with Sunshine, Melee, Prime, and some other games I enjoyed. It's also the thing I regret most because they're pretty expensive nowadays, especially with games. But Dolphin exists, so I guess that works.

I also remember selling every N64 cartridge I had, including Conker's Bad Fur Day, DK64, Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie & Tooie. Along with a bunch of PS1 games, of which I sold Crash 1 and Diablo 1 for $5 each. That was a mistake, but I got those back, and I got a modded cartridge for the 64 with over 300 games on it, so it wasn't much of a loss to me besides some value.

you know, I've never actually played Skyrim. It didn't appeal to me. But if it makes things easier to relate to, its a great way to look at it!

You play as the Dragonborn, someone with the ability to slay dragons and absorb their essence when it dies, granting the power to use their voice and tap into their power. That's just the vibe I got from your description.

but I digress. Like Jelly said, the setting is super interesting and I've already got a few ideas for characters. Just need a description of how things will be implemented.
