Rather than defending you it goes against you: it's 1 more reason to spice it up xD
Admittedly, the stun effect of Cyber Blader is really potent. Thought at first it only stunned monster effects, but it actually stuns everything. IDK how to feel about that if you were to make the Fusion Spell less restrictive, we would be speaking of 1 turn full shock lock in exchange of some maindeck space. Would you really run x3 of this, x1 Skater and x1 Etoile Cyber just for the chance of opening with a body that stuns the opponent for the rest of the turn?

Haha, touché! Yeah, Cyber Blader stuns everything. Previously, it was all of the opponent's effects (including Continuous ones). Now it's just activated effects. To answer your question, I personally would run this at 2-3 (it's pretty much better than Polymerization in every way, except that it can't be searched) along with x2 Skater and x2 Etoile. I think I'll create additional supports, perhaps something that searches this card...

I find a bit disappointing the Fusioning effect is the same as Shaddoll Fusion. Was expecting something more unique or spicy. Cyber Girls are not even floaty like Shaddolls so there is little need to restrict the milling condition. I dare say the Special Summon lock isn't needed, either.
The card would be more amusing if there were more Warrior "Cyber" Fusion monsters.

That's a fair critique, although in my defense, Lunalight Fusion has a similar effect as well. Lol, Cyber Girls are NOTHING! Just a weird hodge podge of unrelated effects... Without the Special Summon lock, you can splash this card, get out Cyber Blader with 1 card, and then lock your opponent out of effects for the rest of the turn. That's pretty strong, no? Yeah, I specifically worded that way in case I end up making more Warrior "Cyber" Fusion monsters or in case Konami actually ends up releasing more...

This is not okay. Turns any HERO into a Poly/Fusion Spell searcher. That can be abused by searching the aforementioned Brilliant Fusion and the different Miracle Fusions, even in non-HERO decks.
The GY effect is a bit too flexible for my tastes by being able to revive any HEROes even if they weren't used as material at all, or revive a non-nomi HERO Fusion. The stun on Special Summon of only HEROes is barely a balance factor: if you use it during the opponent's turn, most likely you won't be summoning any other monsters afterwards anyway, and if you do, it's most likely a Masked HERO; if you use it during your turn, then you are going for an OTK for extra damage after battling with the Fusion, and thus the stun is meaningless.

Yeah... This is more or less the point I was trying to make. This is pretty degenerate considering how easy it is to summon.

Thanks for the comment where I made the slight edit to the Defusion effect where it instead just summons any 2 "HERO" monsters with different names just to make it a bit user friendly.

Ah.. So you made it even stronger by removing the restriction on the summoned monsters having to be previously used as Fusion Materials? Haha. Now it’s almost like a monster reborn on drugs!

  5. BASICS

    • Applicant: Saiba Aisu
    • Name: Rashad "Shadi" Al-Najjar
    • Alias: Diviner
    • Age: 22
    • Gender: Male
    • Species: Human

    APPEARANCE: Image Reference

    • Height/Weight: 6" / 170 lbs
    • Build/Complexion: Well-built / Dark brown
    • Hair: Thick curly black hair, worn long on top. Sides and back are cropped close in a high fade.
    • Eyes: Hazel
    • Clothing:
      • Uniform: A form-fitting blue bodysuit with black gloves and combat boots, composed of special polyfibers that provide enhanced protection against extreme temperatures and certain types of radiation. Largely devoid of ostensible decorative elements, except for a shimmering golden symbol on his chest, depicting a stylized eye.
      • Casual: While not on active duty, Rashad's standard outfit consists of a blue and white striped tank top, black harem pants, white elbow/knee guards, and bright blue sneakers. He also wears a simple metal necklace, featuring a crescent moon with a single star.

    ABILITIES

    • Powers:
      • Extrasensory Perception ("DIVINATION"): Shadi's primary metahuman ability (and the inspiration for his operative codename) allows him to instinctively sense future events, effectively granting him a form of clairvoyance. He most commonly employs this power in combat situations in order to predict and counter enemy attacks before the opponent launches them, as well as to avoid seemingly unpredictable ricochet damage, despite his fairly average reflexes and hand-to-hand combat skills. For all its usefulness, however, this ability is not foolproof—predicting the future is a tricky business and like most things in life, destiny is rarely set in stone. For this reason, he tends to use his powers of divination as a guideline rather than a strict rulebook, especially when attempting to predict more complicated, nebulous outcomes. In some cases, the future can be extremely unpleasant and even haunting, making this gift a double-edged sword that is both a blessing and a curse.
      • Psychokinetic Energy Manipulation ("THE EYE OF HORUS"): The nexus of Shadi's extrasensory/psychokinetic powers is located at the center of his forehead. When it manifests on the visible spectrum, it takes on an almond-shape, resembling a "third eye" of bright golden light. The Eye of Horus serves as a conduit that sharpens and focuses Shadi's powers, allowing him to launch destructive bolts of golden energy from his forehead, as well as granting him limited telekinesis/levitation.
      • Expert Pickpocket ("STREET SMARTS"): Shadi didn't spend six years on the streets of New York City for nothing. You'd be hard pressed to find a more street-wise guy than Shadi, who excels at passing undetected and "flying under the radar" when the need arises. Apart from his quick mind and even quicker hands (he was once quoted as saying, "I could steal Green Lantern's ring, take it for a joyride, and put it back before he even noticed!"), he's also got a gift for putting others at ease and getting them to open up, even if it's against their own interests.
    • Equipment:
      • Titan Communicator: A standard Titan Communicator equipped with a state-of-the-art satellite-based tracking system, ideal for relaying information and surveying the surrounding area during missions.

    PERSONALITY

    • Shadi's personality is best summed up by the phrases "lovable rogue" and "rough around the edges." Sharp-tongued, quick-witted, and more than a bit rebellious, he's developed something of a reputation as a loose cannon over the years, earning himself the disapproval of some of the Justice League's stricter members in the process. His interpretation of the rules, in particular, tends to be quite lax rather than letter-by-letter. Nevertheless, despite his mischievous ways, irreverent humor, and singular talent for getting himself and others into trouble, at his deepest core, Shadi is true as steel and doggedly loyal to those he cares about. Although he's unaware of it, viewing himself as just another run-of-the-mill hero, there are actually a lot of hopes riding on his shoulders, due to him being one of the organization's unofficial poster children for the possibility of rehabilitating former super-powered criminals through hero work.

    HISTORY

    Spoiler

Rashad was born to Hassam and Fatima Al-Najjar, a young Sudanese immigrant couple, in one of New York City's many slums. Despite his family's relative poverty, he had a fairly happy early childhood, being raised as a devout Muslim in an Arabic-speaking home. His metahuman powers began manifesting rather early, allowing him to instinctively sense future events and perceive the world in a way other children could not. Although his parents were initially wary, they eventually came to accept and quietly celebrate their son's unique talents, believing them to be a gift from God. Tragedy struck, however, one afternoon while Shadi, twelve at the time, was at school. Subsequently referred to as "The Masjid Abu Bakr Shooting,"  it consisted of a single heavily armed gunman that burst into a local mosque during a service and opened fire indiscriminately on those in attendance, killing many and wounding several more before police forces arrived and managed to subdue him. Fatima, Shadi's mother, was among those who died on the scene. His father, Hassam, actually managed to temporarily disarm the shooter, despite being unarmed and heavily wounded himself. Unfortunately, however, he would later succumb to his injuries while en route in an ambulance to the nearest hospital.

Now an orphan and utterly alone in the world, Shadi was initially taken in as a ward of the state, although he didn't last long within the foster system, preferring to take his chances on the street. For the next five years, Shadi fought to stay alive, using every ounce of resourcefulness to carve out a precarious existence in New York City's dog-eat-dog underworld, relying on his extrasensory abilities to help get him out of sticky situations. Nevertheless, for all his intuition and sharp instincts, there were a number of close calls that no one could have predicted—petty burglaries gone wrong, trusted contacts turned traitor, and several unexpected police raids—so that with each passing day, the ground under his feet grew smaller and smaller. Eventually, although he was loath to leave his hometown, Shadi was forced to face the truth: New York City was no longer safe for him. He'd do one last job—a simple affair, exceedingly straightforward, just to have some much-needed cash on hand for his escape. Just one last heist. What could possibly go wrong?

To his—but absolutely no one else's—surprise, a lot, as it turns out. Everything was going according to plan until a pair of Justice League members decided to show up halfway through the operation and crash the party. To Shadi's shock and horror, the duo seemed quite familiar with him and his extrasensory powers, although they were not at all pleased that he had been using them for criminal purposes. The Justice League operatives offered him an ultimatum: join his fellow lawbreakers in adolescent rehab and swear to never again use his powers, or serve an undefined probationary period as part of their organization in order to make up for his misdeeds. Deeply suspicious but unable to refuse, Shadi opted for the second choice. Transitioning from a street-hardened delinquent into a junior member of the Justice League wasn't a smooth process by any means—there were times where he suffered relapses and clashed with his superiors, and in many cases, he had to specifically unlearn certain behaviors that had helped him survive in the past. As time passed and his probationary period came to an end, however, Shadi began to grow into his new role, ultimately coming to grips with the fact that the Justice League had saved him from a life of crime. Now (mostly) rehabilitated, and recently promoted as a member of the Teen Titans, Shadi is ready to put his gifts to a more noble use. It's what his parents would have wanted.

    SAMPLE

    Spoiler

The woman was tall and shapely, clad in an elaborate gauzy emerald veil that covered most of her face except for her vivid violet eyes, framed by thick lashes. Long wavy black hair tumbled over her shoulders in a sweet-smelling cascade, golden bangles glistened at her wrists and ankles, and a sea of silver coins woven into her outfit chimed gently as she moved, pacing the room barefoot, reciting from an open book held aloft in one hand, her musical voice filling the room of enthralled students.

"The universe is infinitely complex. An interlocking prism of ever-changing shapes and colors. So too must your minds be infinite, if you wish to delve into its depths and divine its mysteries. Focus. Find the center of your metaphysical being. Let your spirit rise up within you... You are air, you are fire, you are—RASHAD! Are you sleeping?!"

"... Mm? Sorry, boss lady. What now?"

WHAM! The mystical tome sailed across the room with remarkable accuracy, smiting one of the students in the very last row, whose head had been dangling at a rather precarious angle for the past few minutes.

"GAH! What'd you do that for?!" the young man demanded, wincing as he rubbed the back of his head, blinking the sleep from his eyes. If his past experiences were anything to go by, he'd have a lovely egg-shaped bump this same time tomorrow.

"How kind of you to rejoin us on this plane," the woman observed dryly, crossing her arms as the rest of the class did their best to contain their laughter. "Am I correct in guessing that you were wandering the barren wastes of the astral dimension in a self-induced trance, seeking new wisdom?"

    "No, but—"

"Perhaps then you were pondering the subtler aspects of The Sacred Tridevi and its immediate applications to libanomancy?"

"No," Shadi replied, smiling rather sheepishly, his dark cheeks flushing with color, although he met the woman's gaze evenly across the room. "I was taking a nap. Sorry, Oracle. Won't happen again."

"Anyone could have divined that much."

The rest of the students erupted into open laughter this time, some of them even wiping tears from their eyes as they gazed at Shadi with poorly concealed scorn. The woman—Oracle—sighed, rubbing her temples with slim fingers.

"I don't know what we're going to do with you, Rashad... This is the third time this week. One would think that, having chosen Diviner as your operative name, you would be a little keener to learn about the noble art of divination. Alas! If gazing into the future is such a tedious task for you, then you may be excused. Please take your things and go. Make sure you have a word with Radion about your behavior in class today."

"Should I do that now or later?" Shadi asked, bowing his head as he stood and began gathering his belongings. He knew enough to recognize a clear dismissal when he saw one, especially when it involved Radion, who handled any cases of misbehavior in class.

"Whenever the fates find it convenient, Rashad."

"Alright. It's just that he's outside, so I figured..."

At that moment, there was a knock at the classroom entrance, followed by dead silence. Seconds later, the pneumatic doors slid apart with a hiss, revealing the aforementioned Radion, a stocky man with a rather hawkish nose and piercing blue eyes, clad in a deep red bodysuit.

"Sorry to interrupt your class, Oracle. If you don't mind, I'd like to borrow Diviner. He and I need to have a word."

Oracle nodded and waved away wearily with one hand, as if giving them both permission to leave. Tagging along at Radion's heels, Shadi turned and flashed his classmates one last cheeky smile before vanishing from sight.

"Holy crap!" one of the remaining students exclaimed, making everyone jump in their seats. His eyes were wide as he gazed at Oracle with newfound respect. "You knew Radion was coming for Shadi from the beginning, didn't you? That's why you said, whenever the fates find it convenient..."

Oracle settled for a mysterious smile, the corners of her mouth twitching faintly behind her green veil as she turned back to the class while her students shifted in their seats and murmured among themselves, deeply impressed.

"Would you be so kind as to hand me Futhark's Runology? Thank you. Now, as I was saying..."

Yet even as she resumed the lesson, Oracle couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt. For all her grandiose words, in the end, it had been Shadi—not her—who had truly seen the future.

    Dancing Fusion

    Normal Spell Card

Fusion Summon 1 "Cyber" Warrior Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field as Fusion Materials. If your opponent controls a monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, you can also use monsters in your Deck as Fusion Material. You cannot Normal or Special Summon other monsters the turn you activate this card, except "Cyber" Warrior or "Cyber" Fairy monsters. You can banish this card from your Graveyard and target 1 "Cyber Blader" you control; apply an effect listed on it that depends on the number of monsters your opponent controls until the End Phase. You can only use each effect of "Dancing Fusion" once per turn.

    P8RxUXN.png

I wanted to create a fun card that would revitalize Cyber Girls as an archetype, while also allowing for combination plays with Cyber Angels. Assuming your opponent controls an Extra Deck Monster, you can use this card to Special Summon Cyber Blader using monsters from your Deck (Etoile Cyber and Blade Skater) as Fusion Materials. You can then banish this card from the Graveyard in order to apply Cyber Blader's third effect ("Negate your opponent's activated card effects") until the End Phase, allowing you to play without interference. From there, you can use cards like Machine Angel Absolute Ritual to recycle Etoile Cyber and Blade Skater from the Graveyard for Ritual Summons.

  7. Pretty cool idea for a card. The ability to search for any given "Fusion" card is pretty strong, considering it gives you easy access to things like "Brilliant Fusion" or "Miracle Synchro Fusion," which could get pretty degenerate depending on what else you're playing.. I do like how it functions as a De-Fusion for your HERO monsters, that's a nice touch.

Mhm, but not everyone has a very well-thought out philosophy and political stance, in fact most people do not and are very far from rational, they have a mishmash of moral values, opinions from others they trust, potentially unfounded prejudices, a status quo they grew up with, etc.

Yeah, I was about to say that. We humans are, as a general rule, very emotional creatures with an unfortunate tendency to make flawed illogical decisions.

I didn't really understand the example of the sorcerer-king and rebels. Sorry! I understand that people can have opposing ideologies. What I'm referring to specifically (and what I'd like to improve) is my ability to convincingly write characters whose worldview is different than my own. So, for example, as a gay person, I feel like I would struggle to write a convincing heterosexual romance. That sort of thing. I guess in the end, there's nothing for it but practice! And perhaps trying to broaden the stuff I read.

  9. I'm not sure I've actually ever gotten around to really writing a character I fundamentally disagreed with. It's definitely something I'd like to challenge myself with in the future (hopefully soon). I think part of it is that I'm not sure I could convincingly write a character that is very different from me, especially when it comes to things like sexual orientation or stance on politics/religion. Do you have any advice for breaking past this barrier?

  10. Tongue Twister

    DARK/Level 6/Fiend-Type/Effect/ATK 400/DEF 300

If you control no monsters: You can Normal Summon this card from your hand without Tributing, and if you do, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn. If this Normal Summoned card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can banish this card from your Graveyard; draw 2 cards from your Deck.

I basically tried to make it so that you can still profit by either tributing this card as a cost for cards like Enemy Controller, Dark Spirit Art - Greed, Tyrant's Temper, etc., while preventing abuse by locking down Link Summons. Not sure if it's any more playable this way, but I gave it a shot!

tbh if you dont know what valkyries do i dont really see how you can give valid advice, not to sound rude

I know what they do, I just haven't played them myself. I wasn't asking you to explain the card effects, just your win condition and how the deck has been playing for you (win-loss ratio, dead hand ratio, performance depending on certain common match-ups). The Goddess Continuous Spell Cards (which you seem to have edited out from your original post), seem a bit clunky. Intentions aside, you did indeed come off as rude. I'll leave you to it.

  12. It's a pretty cool idea. I'm actually really tired of seeing the amount of negation that people are playing, whether that's splashable handtraps or fairly generic Extra Deck Monsters that do the same. It all seems focused on building an unbreakable board and playing solitaire, as opposed to meaningfully interacting with each other.

Moving on to the card itself, I would say the logic behind it is fairly sound, though half your LP seems like a rather steep price to play it from the hand, especially when compared to cards like Struggling Battle and Infinite Impermanence. If you're going to keep that LP cost, consider making this card's activation and effect unable to be negated. I feel that would be a fair payoff and would follow along with the theme.

  13. When you say you are "the blob currently known as Rhinne#1117," do you mean that... you are THE Rinne? Sorry, I may be confusing you with someone I used to know on the old forums. Anyway, welcome!

  14. Hey, guys! I'm Saiba Aisu, I've just made the migration over from the old YCM Forums. A few of you may remember me from my activity in the RP Section, although it's been a while. I like studying foreign languages (I speak Spanish, French, and Japanese), reading, and of course, playing Yugioh (especially YGOPro and Duel Links)! It's nice to meet you all!
