  1. S.Y.S. Inc. (Save Your Souls Incorporated) Premise Unfortunately, this yarn starts with your untimely death. In brighter news, we see potential in you as a Soulder™. Whether you had regrets in your past life, or not, doesn't matter to us. You see, our organization is a contractor for the afterlife. We collect the lost souls that wander the earth, and make sure they get to where they need to be getting, instead of spooking the denizens of the living world. Sometimes, however, these poor unfortunate souls aren't always on their best behavior. This is where you come in, as a Soulder. Only Lost Souls with an insanely strong will are able to become S.Y.S. Agents, a.k.a Soulders, and we're in need of your enlistment. Don't worry...you'll get a cool power once you sign the dotted line. Rules: Database: App Skeleton:
  2. The team seemed to be all in agreement that further questioning was not needed. Ken nodded. At Flurry's statement, the Mechanoid Hedgehog could only offer a grumble of protest. "Don't push your luck, Lemur." He scoffed. "And you, Ken?" "My brain's Zen as hell! Nothing's rattling around in here up at the moment..." Ken paused. "But Chimera...your home and friends...don't you need to protect them?" Chimera's hands gripped the vessel's large steering wheel a bit tighter. "There's nothing left of the Old Egg Empire left on this Island...the Egg Pawns that patrol the perimeter have long since lost any sense of self...only duty remains. They'll be happy to patrol the island until their circuits give out." Chimera then opened a compartment of his arm to reveal a small rectangular device. "My brother...Metal Sonic...he lives in here now. So I will gladly take him along to find a new home for the Egg Empire." Chimera turned an eye. "Now...with that unnecessary sentimentality behind us...let us depart immediately." Chimera flipped three switches in a rhythmic sequence, and pressed a large red button that lay to the side of the third. After a long few seconds, the engines roared to life. The ship rattled, throwing Ken a little off balance. He soon found his footing, as he peered out of the windows. Light poured in from the ceiling, as the hangar doors opened from the top of the compound. Chimera pulled the wheel into his chest, and the ship rose into the air. Ken could feel his stomach sink. "Aw man...I knew I shouldn't've had such a heavy breakfast! I thought I worked it all off!" Ken became a bit queasy, as he fumbled around the deck. "Please do not vomit on the Great Doctor's ship. I might seriously reconsider letting you live." Ken stood straight to his feet, a shock of ice running down his spine from the Badnik's threat. "Aye aye, Captain!" As the ship slowly rose out of the hangar's bay, the crew would be able to see the vast ocean spread out ahead of them. "Whoah..." Ken's mouth hung open. "I've never seen so much water before!" "Please grab a hold of something. We're going to start accelerating soon." Ken nodded, and hung on to a nearby chair. "Eggsaw Cruiser Mach 2.7.0.1, engage thrusters to maximum output!" Chimera pressed a pedal near the bottom of the steering wheel, causing the ship to fly towards the open sky. Ken hung on, as the ship soared through the air, leaving Old Eggland behind. "We're gonna have to come up with a better name for this thing." Ken said, smiling towards the others. "And a Team Name! We've gotta have something cool like that when we're on a mission to save the world, right?" "I say we stick with Eggsaw Cruiser Mach 2.7.0.1....a perfect name made by a perfect organic. As for a Team Name...Team Meatbags +1." "You've got no style Chimera." Ken could hear Chimera's offensive weaponry fire up. "But it'll definitely be voted on! As for my suggestions, how about...the Dawn Piercer! And Team Shadow Stompers!"
  3. Both Aoki and Elton were now soaring through the air, the breeze reminding him of a brisk walk along the beach. His stomach got a little queasy, but he felt like he was getting his sea legs back. "I may have something. If I'm correct, aside from the other punchy boy down there just demonstrated..." he motioned towards Seich. "...the Kuwagamon won't be able to be dealt as much damage as we want. However, I believe we can fix that. The Flymon came up soon after the Kuwagamon appeared. It's a long shot, but if we focus on the Flymon first, we can defeat them and then once they're out of the way, we should be able to damage the beetle more. Simple RPG boss tactics...remove the aggro ads here...then more damage is done to the boss." "That makes sense to me!" Aoki said, nodding behind Elton's shoulder. "Loud and clear, boss. BABY HAIL!!!" "Good, focus on the Flymon. Once they're taking care of, we'll deal with red and scary over there." Elton glanced back at Aoki and nodded. "I can only attack, generally speaking, via the Dash Slider. However...since you hopped on here...we can deal with a double attack. You game?" "For sure!" Aoki replied, flexing his bicep. "I'll come in with a nasty clothesli-" Aoki's attention was drawn away from Elton, towards a small pink meteor that flew across the sky. A tiny thing, not much bigger than a pomegranate in shape. Momentarily, every tamer in the park's attention was drawn to it, as it careened towards Kuwagamon. A collective 'What the...' of confusion filled the air, even coming from Kuwagamon himself. The beetle did little too avoid it, if at all, as Gea landed with a thump against his shiny shell. For a brief moment, Kuwagamon stood there bewildered. "WHO HAS THROWN THIS CHILD AT ME!?" He roared, shaking the ground for those near enough the booming voice. Looking across the park, and at the bridge, he saw a Tamer following through with her pitching motion. "YOU HUMANS DISGUST ME!" Kuwagamon let out another roar, as Gea began to slide off his head and towards his mighty pincers. Gea soon fell off, and fell towards the scissoring appendages, but was quickly intercepted by Tinkermon, who flew in between the small gap of the intersecting mandibles. "I got ya!" Tinkermon smiled, winking at Gea, before swiftly dodging a swipe from one of Kuwagamon's claws. "GET BACK HER-" Kuwagamon began to buzz it's wings, as it prepare to launch into the air, but was stopped suddenly when unnoticed bubbles had landed in it's open maw. "BLEH! WHAT THE-" Kuwagamon tried to spit out the nasty, poison like substance that he nearly ingested from those bubbles. "Combo Move..." "HUH!?" Kuwagamon looked down to see Amp and Seichi low to the ground, their fists almost touching the park grass beneath them. "Soaring Static Uppercut!" Amp cried, before the two of them launched into the air with a flash of electricity shining between their parallel fists. They both collided with Kuwagamon's lower jaw, forcing his huge head upwards, and causing him to stumble back. Where Shion and Jeanne were standing, a group of Kunemon began to converge on them. "Tinker Twister!" Tinkermon had quickly arrived near the two girls, and began to spin rapidly, forcing the Kunemon away momentarily. Tinkermon then sharply twisted towards Shion, a look of pure contempt on her face. She held the Poromon with one single hand, pointing at Shion with a huge, needle-like fingernail. "Is this your Digimon that you just threw to get totally owned!? In this form, you know it's only a baby, right!?" Tinkermon smacked her face. "I mean, they haven't even Digivolved, and you're pitting them up against that thing! DO YOU SEE THAT THING!? WHAT WAS THIS POOR POROMON GONNA DO!? HUH!?" Tinkermon then finally descended onto the ground, sighing briefly, before handing Poromon back to Shion. "You shouldn't treat your partner like that...they deserve love and care...even if they are just a bunch of code." A thread of silk then attached to one of Tinkermon's wings. When she turned around to see, even more threads had made their way to her, binding her with the force of ten Kunemon. They all cackled, as electricity was sent coursing through the string, flashing as it reached Tinkermon who grunted in pain. Meanwhile, the Flymon on the ground receiving a beating from Sammy began to laugh. "Your punches hit like a Tokomon!" It's wings began to vibrate, shaking the vines of Sequoia loose. "WINGBEAT BUZZ!" A loud noise began to vibrate the air around Flymon, likely causing Sammy to experience strange feelings in her chest cavity, as well as making her ears hurt. The beating of Flymon's wings stopped momentarily, only for him to give the order of the lackeys nearby. "SICK EM BOYS!" Flymon screeched, as a large swarm of Kunemon began to sack them. "SUMMON!" Was heard close by, as large balls of Fire and Ice began to tear through the wave of Kunemon. Next to Sammy stepped a boy with long dark hair. Arriving next to his side was a small little devil Digimon. "Need a hand?" The guy asked. Aoki and Elton, in the meantime, were still looking for an opening on this Flymon. As it was getting pelted with Baby Hail, it began to counterattack with it's own stinger attack. It launched two in a row, straight towards Berg. A blast of Coral Pressure from Reef was enough to blow them off course, but then gained the attention of Flymon. The fly Digimon then began another pursuit of Reef, who let out another burst of Refuge Mist. "I think now's our shot Elt! Fly us in at full speed, and I'll clean this guy's Digi-Clock!"
  4. Elton and Berg joined the mission alongside Aoki, prompting him to flash the two a thumbs-up! "That's what I like to see! Let's send these punks back to the beehive they came from!" Aoki, with Reef tucked close to his chest, made a beeline for the Flymon that Berg had started an assault on. The Baby Hail had distracted the Flymon for a brief moment, as it tried to deflect the ice attack with it's arms. This made a great opening for Aoki and Reef to rush in with a solid tackle. Aoki extended his arms, having Reef's incredibly hard coral helmet shoot into the Flymon's abdomen. "Combo Move! Coral Crash!" With their combined efforts, the Flymon had taken visible damage, and was pushed back. The intense flapping of it's wings weakened for a mere moment, before intensifying in speed. The Flymon let out a high pitched cry, before diving it's stinger towards Aoki. "Ah Geez! I hope I'm not allergic or nothin'!" He said, looking around for help. Noticing Berg and Elton were barreling in his direction, he flagged the Blue Digimon and his partner down. "Hey, got room for one more?!" Reef dashed in between Flymon and Aoki, before releasing a purple mist from it's shell. "Refuge Mist!" The Flymon flew into the poisonous mist, it's vision obscured for a moment as it flew through the cloud. Reef narrowly was able to escape, but the intense flapping of Flymon sent him back to the ground. Meanwhile, the other Flymon at Kuwagamon's side had began to attack Sammy and Sequoia. It fired a huge stinger. The girl and her digimon, in some sort of stupor, watched as the stinger planted itself into the ground, and exploded. It caused the two to fly back, causing a large amount of damage to both of them. The Flymon's stinger quickly reloaded, as it launched another that looked to skewer Sequoia. "SHASHASHA! You're no match for us Champion Digimon of Wire Forest! We'll cut you tamers down to size!" Kuwagamon cackled from the back, as he watched his soldiers seemingly winning their various battles across Central Park. "Speed Nightmare!" A feminine voice cried out. In a flash, a Digimon's spear had collided with Kuwagamon's shell. Although it deflected the spear attack rather easily, Kuwagamon was still pushed back somewhat. "Hmph. So you Champion Digimon aren't all talk are you?" "WHY YOU LITT-" "Petit Impulse!" Another yellow Digimon had joined the fray, interrupting the Kuwagamon's anger, and shocking the Insect with a blast of electricity from it's body. Kuwagamon merely lifted an arm to deflect the blow, but it seemed to have somewhat of an effect. "They sure don't go down as easy as those Kunemon do they, Seichi?" Behind the Yellow digimon was an extremely fit man, tightening his fighting glove. "This should be over soon. Follow my lead, Amp." He said, as he slowly approached Kuwagamon with quite the swagger about him. Kuwagamon began to tremble out of anger. "A DAMN HUMAN HAS THE GUTS TO CHALLENGE ME! SO BE IT! I'LL MAKE SHORT WORK OF YOU, JUST LIKE I'VE DONE TO OTHERS!" Kuwagamon began a fast charge, lunging his large, scissor-like fangs at the boy named Seichi. However, the boy merely weaved to the side, and landed a solid haymaker right into the Kuwagamon's abdomen. "Blast away." Seichi coldly said, as the Kuwagamon made a gasp for air. It flew off of Seichi's fist, only to stumble back a bit. "Hm? So it's not over yet? That's a first." "GAH!" Was all that managed to come from Kuwagamon, before he made a second lunge at Seichi.
  5. Aoki watched on as Sammy was able to have her Digimon partner Digivolve, and quickly dispatch of the Kunemon. Looking towards the other boy, his Digimon also had undergone Digivolution, into a far and away stronger form than it's prior one. Aoki had to admit, that little lizard could sure shred a surfboard. As Sammy approached Elton, Aoki did the same, waving his hand towards the boy. Aoki looked at the guys username, AllUrBase. He couldn't help but laugh upon seeing it. "Yo! You and your little dude handled yourself pretty well out there!" Aoki flashed the guy a thumbs up and nudged a thumb over in Sammy's direction. "This is Sammy, and I'm Aoki! We're both Brawler-Type Tamers! I saw you using a card while fighting, so you gotta be some strategist right? We could sure use a guy like you on our team!" Sangomon hopped over to join them, his long arms trailing behind him with a comedic wiggling. "Don't forget about me, Captain!" "This is my partner, Reef!" "Ahoy! Nice to meet ya!" Reef said, saluting the pair. "We're gonna be the strongest Tamers ever, and explore every inch of the Digital World! I think having a guy like you on our team would be pretty cool, don't you think?" Just then, everyone in the area would be able to feel a low rumble coming from the ground. Aoki's knees felt the shock, as his legs shook a bit. Not from nervousness, but from the sheer force. He thought it might have been an earthquake of sorts, but they happened in a sequential pattern. In the distance, trees were beginning to be knocked down from the forest, clearing a path for something big. Then, the small quakes stopped altogether. That's when a loud buzzing hummed from beyond the tree line. All of the tamers that were in Central Park looked to the rattling trees, stopped in their battles with the Kunemon, who all cackled together in a chorus of laughter. "Now you've done it, humans! The boss is comin'!" A huge presence shot out of the top of the trees, blotting out the sun as it flew across the sky of Central Park, followed by slightly smaller shadows. Before long, it landed on the ground with a thud. A gigantic, red beetle placed itself in the center of the park. It's giant pincers clacked together, as it opened it's mouth wide to give off a huge shout. Two other winged insect Digimon appeared at each side of the gargantuan Digimon, their faces resembling Kunemon to an uncanny degree, flying above the ground with a buzzing hover. Aoki's stance wavered for a second, as he took a step back. "T-that's the guy...I ran into that Beetle in the forest the first time I die-," Had he really died in that moment? If it weren't for the rules of the game, he wouldn't be here. Maybe gamer lingo would be best to describe what had happened, so he wouldn't have to go through another existential crisis, "-before I blacked out." Aoki brought up his Scanner again, this time analyzing his foe. 'Kuwagamon. Type: Insect. Level: Champion. An Insect Digimon armed with gigantic pincers on its head. It has combat abilities that far exceed those of similar species that inhabit Wire Forest. It is protected by its tenacious power and sturdy shell, and in particular, as the power of its pincers is super-powerful, once it clamps an enemy it will squeeze until the opponent's life is extinguished. Its Special Move is able to easily cut hard substances to pieces.' Next to be analyzed were it's two goons. 'Flymon. Type: Insect. Level: Champion. An Insect Digimon that possesses gigantic, baleful wings. With its gigantic wings it is able to fly about at extremely high speed, and it generates a great Howling Noise called buzzing while in flight, completely numbing the sense of hearing of those who hear it. Its body is protected by a hard shell, and it pinches the opponent between its large talons and brings death with the super-powerful stinger on its tail. Although the evolutionary processes of Insect Digimon are still unclear, it is thought that it evolved from a Kunemon-species, guessing by the appearance of its face. Its Special Move is firing the stinger on its tail. It is said that Digimon who are stung with this stinger have their whole body paralyzed, then their body turns violet and they die. Incidentally, this isn't a problem for it because it is said the stinger grows back indefinitely' Aoki took another step back. Three Champion-Level Digimon had appeared, and he wasn't even to fight off one by himself. He almost took another step backwards, when his calf ran into Reef's coral-spouting shell. "Aoki! We can do it! We're stronger now! And we've got friends!" The Sangomon turned around to motion towards the other Tamers who were in Central Park. It was like a small army of sorts. Some had already decided to run away, and book it straight back into Asuka City. Aoki might've done the same, but Reef's resolve was palpable. Aoki took a step forward toward the towering bug, and curled his fists. "You're right. This time we can take down this no-eyed freakazoid!" The Kuwagamon let out another intense bellow. "HISHAAAAAAAAAAAAH! You humans really are pests! We'll make sure none of you get past this damn park! We're taking back the forest! HISHAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Suddenly, a Notification text box would appear in everyone's vision in the immediate vicinity of Central Park. It read, 'Emergency Mission: Defeat Kuwagamon and his Army'. Two options were beneath the Mission. Accept, or Deny (Teleport to Inn). Aoki, without a second thought, pressed the 'Accept' button. A cute voice then talked to him directly. "Mission! Start!" "You heard it Reef! Let's get to work!" Aoki said, making a head start towards Kuwagamon. "Aye Sir!!" Reef joined in Aoki's pursuit, albeit a bit slower. "HISHAAAAAH!" The Kuwagamon roared, causing the rest of the Kunemon in the Park to go into a full on assault against all the Tamers in the Park. Some Tamers nervously commanded their digimon, as most of them hadn't had their partners Digivolve yet, but they were sure to do it given how boldly they stayed against such a threat. Aoki flung a hand back to Reef, who took it without hesitation. "Combo Move! Aoki Cannon!" Aoki shouted, as he swung Reef in a circle, ultimately launching his partner towards Kuwagamon himself. "Combo Move! Coral Cannonball!" Reef said, in sequence as he rocketed towards Kuwagamon in a full frontal assault. Kuwagamon didn't have much time to react, as Reef collided with the Insect Boss' noggin, causing him to stumble back a bit. Reef ricocheted back towards Aoki, who caught the little Digimon in his arms. "Owwww!" Reef whined, rubbing where his coral made contact with carapace. "This is just the start!" Aoki said, flashing his partner a smile. "YOU TWERPS! GET THEM!" Kuwagamon pointed to the group of three in particular. The Flymon at Kuwagamon side then made an attack on the trio.
  6. "Well, that takes the cake for the story that has more to do about it than anyone else." Ken chuckled with a hint of embarrassment. He really did go on for too long right there. "But I guess I can indulge you guys in some stuff from my end." Zane continued to use his ice powers to cool down Chimera's overheated body. "I come from the Northern Tundra, or at least, that's where I was born and raised. Currently I'm living in Metropolis, ya know, trying to find myself and what not. Hobbies include snowboarding...when I can...and...well...guess that's sorta it on that part. Truth be told, I'm a chill guy. Out of everything, this here has given me the most excitement of my life." Northern Tundra? North? That was up, right? "Snowboarding?! That sounds awesome!" Ken's fists rattled in front of his chest with giddied excitement. "You gotta teach me sometime! That sounds rad!" "Oh man, Metropolis! Now that's a town to live in. Ya know, for a bit anyway. Some cool stuff and all but too many people." "Get it? Cool?" Ken snickered, pointing at Zane's frosty beams. "Heh!" "Maybe not so dangerous but I'd probs wanna be spending my time making something as complicated as Chimera here On the coding side anyway. I really can't stress bad of an actual mechanic I am. You just pick up some hardware stuff when you overclock stuff into obliv-" Ken was lost in Flurry's techno-babble, but the Lemur was cut short by his computer. The 'diagnostics' had completed! Now they knew what was really wrong with Chimera. Something fuss about fuses. Flurry said he'd need a bunch of them. Just as Ken opened his mouth to ask what the heck a fuse was, Flurry game each of them an example of a bad fuse, and a good fuse. A new mission was at hand! "I sure can't fix stuff! I'm more of the wrecking ball type. But I have a knack for search and rescue!" Ken sprung to his feet, and did a spin dash mid-air, only to pop out of his roll with his arms and legs stuck out. "Betcha I can find more than you, Zane! Loser buys the winner Lunch the next time we hit Metropolis!" Ken mad a mad dash for one of the endless piles of metal that littered this island. However, every time he dug through one, all he could find were the bad fuses. It was getting to a point of frustration for him, but he persevered. Chimera had helped them survive the ordeal after all. After what felt like an eternity, Ken only managed to dig out 4 fuses that were in acceptable condition. When he and Zane returned a winner would obviously be determined, but their objective had been completed. Chimera was able to be operational once more. "So, he's not on fire, more than cooled down, fuses replaced, body put back together in about as good an order as we're gonna get with what we have. Who wants to do the honors?" The big letters on Flurry's monitor read, 'Boot Up?'. It prompted him to look at his shoes for some reason. He grinded the ball of his foot into the floor, and then looked to each of them. A big smile came across his face. "Well. We're a team now right?" Ken grabbed Flurry's and Zane's hand, and molded there hands to have their pointer finger raised. "I think we should all have the honors!" Ken, alongside the other two, pressed the Boot Up button as a unit. A couple of beeps and boops rang out through the scrapped hangar. Thanks to the relatively low lighting of the place, it was clear to see when Chimera's eyes came back to life. The Badnik shot up straight, sitting on the floor with the rest of them, as he scanned the Mobians with curiosity. "I am...Operational?" Chimera outstretched his arms, to take a good look at the repaired damage he had received to his body. "Hmph...amateurish work at best..." He scoffed, as he tested out the motor functionality of his fingers. He looked to the Lemur who sat in front of a computer. "You. You might be talented. But don't think this compares you in any sort of way to the great Doctor. You are just a Mobian after all." Chimera stood up straight. "Don't look down on us Mobians, tin head." Ken chided. "It was a Mobian who saved your metal butt after all." He crossed his arms, and nudged his head towards Zane. "Three of 'em, as a matter of fact." Chimera gave Ken a hard stare for what seemed hours, only to avert his gaze moments later. "I suppose this is where an Organic would...thank you all." Chimera stated. "I, fortunately, am beyond such weakness as a creation of the Great Doctor." The robot paused. "However...I have my own way of showing gratitude." Chimera began walking to the lone ship in the hangar. "Come. Follow me once more." Ken nodded to the others, as he followed behind Chimera. They walked across a bridge of sorts, with railings trailing towards the ship. "This was one of the flagships of the Egg Armada. It was never given a true name, as it was never piloted by the Great Doctor. Feel free to call it what you wish." The door to the ship opened, as the team entered in suit. "This ship comes equipped with living quarters, dining, and entertainment facilities...even though it was mainly crewed by inorganics. The food on board is all dehydrated stock. I'm sure it will be up to Mobian standards." Chimera continued, as they entered the main cabin. "This is where I will command the ship." Ken stopped in his tracks. "Wait...you'll be driving?!" "Does any one of you organics have the qualification to operate a E-Class warship?" Silence feel throughout the cabin. "My processors concluded this would be the case." "But...aren't you like...a bad guy? Shouldn't you be trying to kill us after we leave Eggland?" Ken asked in sheer confusion. "My programming consists of an ever evolving A.I. If I had met you after coming online in my first hour of functionality, it would not have been a pretty sight. However, I am able to make my own decisions while operating. And I have decided that I shall accompany you. After all, I have my own mission to accomplish." Chimera took hold of the large wheel in the center of the room. "Like I said...I have my own ways of showing gratitude." Chimera turned to the rag tag bunch. "Now...are there any more questions before we depart?"
  7. As he entered Central Park for the second time, Aoki noticed that a lot of players had begun to struggle with fighting off the horde of Kunemon that littered the place. Joined with Sammy now, he knew these guys wouldn't be a problem. It'd be a 4v1, a little stacked against the small fry. However, after his first encounter with that thing from before, now was as good a time as any to warm up and get a feel for how fighting was like in the digital world. "Yo Sammy, why don't we help thin out the pests before we shove off into the forest?" He wiped the bottom side of his nose with a single thumb, and smiled at her. "You haven't been in a fight yet, so show me what you got!" Aoki flashed her a thumbs up. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a boy get his leg zapped by some of Kunemon's thread. He flinched a little in recoil, but the tamer seemed to be fine. "Yo dude! You got this! Show the sunny centipede what Tamers can do!" He cheered, hollering some more, before he heard a shout from Reef. "Captain! Look out!" Aoki turned around to notice that a Kunemon was barreling towards him. He had no time to avoid the spinning attack, so Aoki instead went on his own offense. He brought back his leg, and thrusted it forward with force. Catching the Kunemon on the tip of his foot, Aoki followed his kick through, flinging the Larva digimon high into the air, as if it were a soccer ball. "AIEEEEEEEEEEEE!" The Kunemon yelled, as it flailed around helplessly in the air. "Reef, do your bubble blowin' thing!" Aoki shouted, pointing to the airborne target. "Aye Aye, Captain! Bubbles!!" The Pukamon took a deep breath in, and let out an array of bubbles that collided with the Kunemon midair. The Bubbles looked harmless, but they were rather quite explosive. As the bug fell out of the sky, a smoky mess, it's body began to scatter into code. Aoki kinda felt bad for the thing, as it's data started to disperse into the aether. "Curses...the Kunemon Clan will take back our turf!" It managed to get out, before evaporating entirely. "Not if Aoki Hideyo has anything to say about it." Aoki cheekily referred to himself. In the meantime, a Kunemon was now also on the attack towards Sammy. "Yo, Sammy! You got this! These guys are easy!" He turned back towards the other boy, and his ice cube looking digimon. "You too! Get the lead out and beat that thing would ya!" Aoki stood there to watch the two, but was quickly caught off guard by two electric nets that wrapped around his whole body. "Ah damni-," was all he was able to muster before the small current of electricity began to run through his body. "You didn't think we wouldn't gang up on you Humans, now do you? Kekekeke!" In the corner of his eye, he saw two Kunemon approach him with malice. "Of c-c-c-course you evil digimon would p-p-p-play dirty!" Aoki stammered, as the electricity continued to surge in his nerves. He struggled to untangle himself from the net, but it was proving to be a tall task for him to do with all this pain. Damn...was he gonna have to restart in Asuka City again? Because of these twerps? "Hell no!!" With a battle cry, and swelling emotion, Aoki grabbed his Digivice. It shined with a dazzling radiance, as he pushed it through a hole in the net. "Reef! This time, for sure!!!" "RIGHT!" Reef spouted, before glowing in his own light. "Pukamon Digivolve to," It seemed as if Reef's body disassembled and reassembled into a new shape entirely, "Sangomon!" Reef landed back on the ground, sticking it's long wiggly arms out towards the two Kunemon. "Coral Pressure!" The digimon cried, as the end of it's arms released two rapid torrents of water. Each torrent collided with a Kunemon drenching them in water and shoving them far and away. With the two worms dispatched, Reef made a move towards Aoki. With a small jet, he was able to rip through the electric net. "Sheesh! Thanks Reef. I owe you one." "Don't thank me Cap'! You're the one who gave me the strength to Digivolve!" "So we're even then? Right on!" Aoki stuck his fist out, which was then bumped by Reef's arm. "Right on!" The digimon said with a toothy smile.
  8. Ken felt rather useless, as he watched the two synergize their abilities and expertise to try and fix the broken down Badnik. He could only watch on as the two did their best. Whilst working on the metal homunculus, Flurry kept on about how Eggland was only a story, and something about the board of mother's. It was all very complicated mumbo jumbo that didn't process well in Ken's brain. He was never the smart one. Wait...was there another? Thinking too hard about all of these things was starting to give him a major migraine the size of Mobius. "Well lookie here. We know how he's supposed to look. This is gonna be messy without the exact tools but see if you guys can't find something." Finally! Something Ken might be able to help with! "You got it Flurry! You help too, Zane!" With newfound enthusiasm, Ken dashed around the area. It was a place where they held a bunch of technology, so they obviously had stuff laying around to fix said technology, right?? With enough effort, and a little speed, Ken made it back to hand Flurry a screwdriver of sorts...it had way too many extensions to be called just a screwdriver though. Miraculously, the Lemur was able to work with the tools that he was handed. Ken let out a sigh of relief. For now, it was time to reassemble to Badnik. Flurry seemed to have trouble lifting the parts, while also being precise. "Your job is gonna be to move pieces into the right places when I need them." "Roger that!" Ken saluted, listening to Flurry's careful instructions. To him, it was a piece of cake. He could easily lift trees from the Ferris Mountains without much effort, so a little metal was nothing he couldn't handle. When the puzzle was all put together, they had to play the waiting game, as Flurry began to run 'diagnostics', whatever those were. "Guess now's as good a time as any to ask you guys what you do with your time when you're not falling through portals and fighting robots." "Well...when I'm not fighting for my life or getting sent away from my Grandpa's house...I'd usually spend all day kicking trees. He didn't let me go out much, either...I basically only went to town with him to get Groceries." He didn't know it, but his eyes were beginning to well up. "Gramps wanted me to study all the time, but I hate studying! It ain't really my forte. So instead of reading some old books, I'd sneak outside and start working up a real sweat!" Ken fluffed his vest. "I wear weighted gear all the time too! Gramps said that I'd need to be really strong one day, so I could hopefully save all of Mobius!" Ken paused for a moment, as he sat down. "I think this is what I was needed to be strong for...this whole disaster thing...but he sent me away like I hadn't been ready for it my whole life. I wish he would've let me fight alongside him...we could've taken on that whole army!" Ken's head perked back up, as he wiped his eyes dry. "AH! Sorry to drag down the mood like that, but I'm not very interesting...what about you guys!? You guys seem to know a lot about Mobius...I'd like to hear about your stories!"
  9. "So, Aoki, what's first one the agenda?!" Reef said, as he floated above the ground beside his tamer. "I'm so excited to finally be out and about in the Digital World! It felt like an eternity in that egg of mine!" "Whoa! You're one restless little dude, huh?" Aoki smiled. He then balled a fist, landing a punch directly into his other hand's palm. "I was thinking we start out this little adventure of ours by getting into some scraps! There's gotta be tons of evil digimon for us to get in a fight with, right?!" They continued their trek alongside each other, finally crossing over the bridges threshold, and into an area that was rather wide open. Aoki brought up his menu with a flick of the rest, and clicked the map portion of his menu. It looked like they had made it to the first destination outside of Asuka City, Central Park. Here, there were tons of tamers in their own fights. They all looked to be fighting the same type of Digimon, a fairly large yellow caterpillar with a huge stinger. "These guys don't look so tough!" The Pukamon snarked, raising up his flippers as if they were a pair of boxing gloves. "I'll just give 'em the ol' one two!" Aoki laughed, as his digimon began to shadowbox the air in front of him. "That's what I like to hear! What are these guys anyway?" Aoki brought up his menu once more. This thing sure was handy. On it, there was an option that was labeled 'Scan'. Aoki lined up his screen so that the enemy digimon would be encapsulated by the scanning box, much like one would scan a QR code with a phone. After a couple of seconds, the scan was complete, and a new text box appeared in his menu. "Kunemon. Level: Rookie. Type: Larva. A Larva Digimon which has lightning-patterns all over its body. Although it is uncertain whether the lightning-patterns on the portion considered its face can are organs equivalent to eyes, because they change shape in in accordance with its emotions, it is said that they probably are eyes. Its personality is fairly malicious. Its Special Move is an electrically-charged thread of silk spewed from its hard beak (Electric Thread). If you get entangled in this thread you can get knocked out by the intense electric shock." "A rookie level huh?" Aoki said, stroking his chin. "What level are you, Reef?" "In-Training!" That sounded a little weaker than Rookie...but with the two of them, these fights would be a piece of cake. BORING! "Well...let's say we find something stronger to fight? I don't wanna deal with the small fry! Let's go for a high score, unlike the rest of these guys!" "Aye aye, captain!" The Pukamon retorted with a salute! "We can totally find a stronger digimon deeper in the woods, I bet! Let's go!" The two nodded at each other, as they ran past all of the fledgling tamer's in the park, and into the entrance of the Wire Forest. As Elton would make it over the bridge, he would see the same scene seen by many of the other players who rushed towards Central Park. The area was littered with an over abundance of Kunemon. If he stepped foot into the area, he would feel the burning sensation of agro being built upon him. "Anotha human! Where do all these suckers keep comin' from! I'll get rid a you myself! This is Kunemon territory!" Without hesitation, a Kunemon launched itself in a rolling wheel straight towards the tamer and his Digimon. As the two continued to shop, and Jeanne brought the umbrellas to Shion, a low voice could be heard yelling through the store. "Where the hell did all this water come from?!" The two would notice a woman, walking up to them "Oh...I see..." The girl looked at Shion specifically, and up to the raincloud that continuously rained on her. "You know...you have got to have the worst taste in fashion. You know how many other preorder bonuses you could have chose...other than that hideous thing?" She looked to the back of the store, and hollered once more. "Yo! Mojo! Get out here!" Without hesitation, a small, frog-like creature appeared from the racks and shelves. "On it ma'am!" With some sort of ability, the Digimon pointed it's sharp orange horn towards the gathering water under Shion. It balled itself up, hovering it in the air, as the lady continued to talk. "My boss must've given you some Bits if you're already able to buy something huh? Must've been compensation for a bug that came with that raincoat, I'm guessing." The girl raised an eyebrow. "I'm Mihara Marise. Lead Fashion Designer for all of the apparel and accessories available for DWO. Can't help you with that bug, by the by. I can't code or anything like that....I'm just the art girl. But I do have a simple solution to all of this." She paused, as she lowered her glasses down her nose. "Why don't you just take the damn thing off?" "AHHHHHHHHHH!" The boy screamed, as the tingling sensation washed over him once more. He opened his eyes, and realized he had been transported back to Asuka City. He blinked, once...twice...three times, seeing that he was standing near the area where the previous opening speech had taken place. He turned around, only to see a building called the Digi-Inn behind him. "I....I thought I was a goner..." He said, patting himself down. He then looked around, as if he had almost forgotten something. "REEF!" Aoki looked around, to see that Reef had materialized right along side him. However, he now laid on the ground, taking a little snooze. "Thank goodness..." Aoki said, his heart beat slowing down a bit. "It seems you were the first to meet an unfortunate fate." Aoki turned around again to notice Iwakiri, the CEO, was in his personal space. "Congratulations on making it back alive!" "What...what just happened?" Aoki asked, with a tremor in his voice. "It seems you took on a bit more than you could chew. In DWO, a tamer and digimon whose health drops down to 0 are disassembled into data, and reassembled at a spawn point. The Digi-Inn is the initial spawn point, so you were rematerialized here." Iwakiri smiled at Aoki. "OHKO-YO, eh? Seems like you got OHKO'd yourself! Do try to be more careful when exploring DWO. I know it's a game, but you will still feel every bit of pain that comes with being alive in the Digital World." "You don't have to remind me..." Aoki said, picking up Reef, and hiking him over his shoulder like a little baby. "But...I don't back down very easily. I think he feels the same way..." Aoki motioned his head towards the Pukamon with the statement. Iwakiri sighed with a smile. "Oh, the youthful leaf remains firm atop the tree. I wish you luck in your battle, OHKO-YO." "Thanks boss! But luck isn't necessary!" Aoki held out his fist towards the CEO. "You probably know that just as much as me." Iwakiri chuckled, returning Aoki's gesture with his own fist. Aoki then turned back towards the bridge that lead to Central Park. "Round 2!" He said, as he bolted off. He turned around to wave at Iwakiri, but found himself flat on his ass. He had run into a large object. "Hey! Let's watch where we're goin' alright!" He said, as he held tightly to his Pukamon. "Mmmm...rough waters...." Reef sleepily moaned. "You got that rig-" Aoki noticed that what he had run into was a huge girl, towering above him by a whole foot at least. "WHAT THE HELL! YOU'RE WAY TOO TALL! IS THERE AN OPTION FOR THAT IN THE MENU OR WHAT!?"
  10. "Is everything up and running?" A voice rang out through a horde computer workers, clad in white. "Everything's running at 100% efficiency sir! The test servers are holding tight!" a worker close by responded. "Incredible. Today is the day we make history! Activate the Digilizers across the globe! Digimon World Online will launch in 3...2..." "Today is the day...right?" Aoki Hideyo cluelessly wandered the streets close to home. On top of his left shoulder, he held aloft a rather large box. The letters D, W, and O plastered across it on all sides. In the other hand, he took his phone out of his pocket, and looked at the home screen. He had totally forgotten, but it was actually the day this game launched! And the clock was ticking down to the wire! Aoki recoiled in shock, before hoofing it back to his place. He wasn't too far away, but it was far enough that he needed to break a sweat and get there before these servers all filled up! "Yo! It's Hideyo!" A group of 3 ne'er-do-wells emerged from an alleyway to block Aoki's mad dash. He stopped in his tracks, almost leaving skid marks on the sidewalks. His shoes were totally scuffed now. "And look at that!" One of them pointed to the box Aoki had hiked over his shoulder. "He's got that new game that the Internet's ravin' about! I bet it would sell for a billion yen right now!" "A billion?" One of the ragamuffins pondered, scratching his chin. He strode up casually to Aoki, both hands tucked into his pockets. "Listen guys," Aoki pleaded, "Today's important. I gotta get home, like right now. Can we like...maybe get a couple of drinks later? My treat?" "Oh you're treatin' us alright," the middle rapscallion grinned, as he pulled a switch knife out to threaten Aoki with, "Now hand it over." Aoki stared at the knife pointed straight towards his chest, and sighed. He grabbed his DWO box, and held it aloft, out in front of him. The grunts all looked at each other dumbfounded. "I thought they were bullshittin' us about how you turned a new leaf Hideyo." The three stooges chuckled in harmony. "Like takin' candy from a ba-" In one swift motion, Aoki threw the box straight up into the air with as much force as he could muster. The hooligans all looked up to see that such an expensive item was now airborne, but Aoki was already on the move. With fluid footwork, Aoki landed a straight dead center in his assailants jaw, knocking him out of his socks and onto the pavement. The other two's attention was then drawn from the box, down to their fallen comrade. Aoki made an explosive pivot, landing a spinning backfist with force not unlike that of a sledgehammer. He exhaled, and turned his attention toward the last goon. As Aoki began to make a move, the criminal crumbled and ran. As he sprinted in the opposite direction, the box had already began it's rapid descent, and was now on a direct course with the top of his head. The game would have crashed into his skull, if Aoki hadn't snatched it right out of the air. He sighed again, as he placed the box back atop his shoulder. "Now I'm gonna be late. If you guys wanna spar again, make sure you give me some notice before you jump me out of the blue." Hideyo waved to the other two unconscious gang members, before running off at top speed back home. After five minutes had passed, he had made it home. He burst through the threshold, back into his empty abode. No need to say hi or goodbye to anyone...he had been alone for some time now. He opened the box ferociously, like a starved lion would rip into a zebra's carcass, carelessly throwing all of the packaging aside. There it sat...a strange looking pile of metal and plastic, and a normal looking headset console. Alongside it was another, smaller looking box that a regular video game would come in. It had funky looking creatures on the box art that Aoki got a real kick out of looking at. Those little dudes looked awesome! Reading the instruction manual at least a hundred times over by now, Aoki had finally set up the so called, 'Digilizer'. It kind of looked like a plastic frame in the shape of a human. Aoki had made sure that he set it up so it took into account his measurements across the board. "Now I just have to place myself against it...place the headset at the top...insert the game into the back..." Aoki had subconsciously started all of the movements as he stated the procedure verbatim, "and then say...DWO Login!" The screen in front of his face sprung to life, colors and numbers that all rearranged themselves into a specific message. 'Logging in.....User.......OHKO-YO.......DIGILIZING NOW' It was the strangest feeling, like the sensation of one's hand falling asleep. However, it was spread throughout his entire body. In a flash, he knew he wasn't in the real world anymore. The console had disappeared from his body entirely, as he found himself among a huge crowd of people. Hundreds, or maybe even thousands, were corralled in this beautiful looking space. He looked around, having to blink a couple of times, realizing that he was still in the same clothes he had worn before stepping into the console frame. His shoes were even still scuffed. Bummer. "Welcome...one and all....to Digimon World Online!" In the distance, one could see a large platform of wood, where a lone man stood. Behind him were large digital screens floating in the air to broadcast the speaker's face. "This is Asuka City! A haven for humanity in the Digital World! As some of you who have been following DWO for some time now may already know, I am Kazuki Iwakiri. I am the CEO of Digital Works...or DigiWorks for short!" He laughed, as some members of the audience applauded. Aoki couldn't help but share the permeable enthusiasm, and joined along with those clapping. "Today marks a turning point in history! DWO is a miracle of Virtual Reality, and is a giant milestone for humanity! And it wouldn't be possible without you." Kazuki began to bow, and clap towards the audience. "Now I'm sure you don't want to hear me blather on about game mechanics, or the end goal of DWO is supposed to be, but here's a tip from me to you! A tutorial of sorts!" The man brought his hand up, and flicked it down to his side, which brought up a screen in front of his body. "This is your menu. Anyone familiar with gaming should be familiar with this. Here, you can see all of your stats, and items! I figured you should at least learn that!" Aoki's expression was priceless. He mimicked the CEO's movements, as did many others, to bring up his own menu. There, it listed what one would typically see in an MMO. Even his clothes were labeled as equipment: Nomad's Shirt, Shoes, Pants. It was all there. His grin was about to explode straight off of his face. "Oh! I almost forgot! It's time to introduce you to your partners!." With a flick of his wrist, another menu came up, as he began to press against it with an unpredictable pattern. A huge shadow formed in the sky. Aoki looked up to see a mass of black. However, as it seemed to fall, he noticed that it wasn't just one sphere, but multiple little eggs that began to descend upon them. Each egg found it's way to everybody, as Aoki held his hands out. A small, grey-speckled egg found it's way into Aoki's hands, as he gently brought it to his chest. With a bounce, and a crack, it opened up to reveal a tiny white blob. "Pichi!" It squeaked. Startled somewhat, Aoki responded with a smile. He pointed towards himself. "Aoki!" "Let's grow these pipsqueaks up some, shall we!" Kazuki Iwakiri laughed, as he began to press more buttons on his screen. The small blob that Aoki held in his hands now began to shine, and glow, as visible strands of binary began to radiate from it. It's form began to change entirely, as when the light faded, Aoki was holding a different creature. When it opened its eyes, the creature's face lit up with a smile to mimic Aoki. "Aoki!? Aoki Hideyo!? Am I right?!" Aoki nodded, dumbfounded. "Awesome! That's Awesome! I'm Reef! Your Pukamon! You chose me! You chose me! I've been waiting forever for you!" Aoki remembered that upon creating his DWO user account all those months ago, that he had picked a cool looking little dude...or digimon...from a list of hundreds. He was asked to give it a nickname as well. So this was actually him. "Awesome!" Aoki held Reef high into the air. "That's awesome! What's goin' on Reef! Nice to meet you!" "And before I go..." The CEO's voice rang out again. "The final thing you'll need to traverse the digital world...the bond between digimon and human." A final touch of his menu, and a device appeared in front of every player. Something else they had picked when making their account. It almost looked like a phone, but was way more compact. Aoki took his device, as both he and Reef looked at it in wonder. However, when he took his, his device began to glow with a light that was different from those around him. The same thing would happen to several others in the crowd. They received looks, but were shrugged off. Must've been a bug. "Your Digivice. With this, you have not just become players of DWO, but you have also become Tamers. Again, I welcome you to Digimon World Online. Explore the world to your hearts content! I bid you farewell." Behind them, a large gate that read DWO began to open, revealing a vast region of forests. The crowd erupted, and began to burst out of the city and into the wild. "Well...what are we waiting for! We can't get left behind already! Let's go Reef!" "Aye aye, Captain!" Reef retorted with vigor, as they both ran with the enormous crowd.
  11. ”I know, Kio! You should use your own quirk!” His straightforward answer made Kio hold up a finger for a second, pausing in confusion, only for him to crack a smile soon after. "You know what, Sun? I think that's a great idea! Simple and clean!" Truly, it was the best answer. Maybe the monkey wasn't such an ignoramus after all. He laughed a bit, as he was suddenly whisked off of his feet, and onto the monkey-boy's shoulder. It took only a second for Kio to figure out how to balance himself, and get a feel for Sun's own positioning. ”So I just have to carry you around, right? I do this for Ayane all the time, since we both live here at school, this should be easy! Cling to me like a baby and I will run as fast as I can!” "A baby wouldn't have the muscle mass to hang onto you from this position, so I'll cling onto you...like a hero?" It kinda felt embarrassing, with Sun putting it like that. "Just make sure I don't fall, and we'll have a blast!!" ”Let the games--BEGIN!” Kio placed a hand in front of Sun's face to stop the ape from possibly charging into the inevitable fray without thinking. "I know it's not the most fun option, but I think it's the most logical and optimal." Kio stewed in thought for a moment, using Sun's head to rest his elbow as he cradled his head in his hand. "Let's think...the most mobile teams are likely going to try and hoard their points, right?" As he noted this, he saw one team head off into the sky. "We're gonna have to either get more points than them by the end, or hope some other team takes them down a few meters. That way, we can swoop in and take points from the less mobile." Kio glanced at a scuffle on the battlefield. Ayane and some other student he didn't recognize, most likely due to the suit he was wearing, were already roughing it out with another team. One made up of a boy who could seemingly tear his body to shreds, and the other who had crazy physical output. Those were some quirks he'd love to get his hands on. "Let's sit back for a moment and observe. If I study their quirks and movements long enough...this should be cake." He only had 10 minutes, so he had to make this quick. ”I mean…” Meru looked at the boy, as he flexed his muscles. She couldn't help but blush a bit, as she waited for his response. ”Yeah, I should definitely have enough time to carry my weight through this. Let’s win this one, Konishi!” "Righ!" Meru pumped her fists close to her chest. "I won' le you dow!" Meru's tongue shot out of her mouth, elevating her high enough so that she fell right onto Tai's shoulders. "Les show them wha we ca do!" ”-BEGIN!” "TAI! LE'S GO FULL THRODDLE!" Meru was feeling confident, now that she had the strongest classmate on her side! She gave Masque back the scarf that she hid behind this whole time! Now it was time to show the world what she could really do if she let loose!
  12. The four missiles continued to barrel towards the unlikely team. However, one was intercepted by Zane's ice, blowing up in the process. The rocket heading towards Flurry had changed course dramatically, due to harsh wind currents, and sailed over the Lemur's head. It exploded as it headed straight towards the ground. Chimera opted to go with the same plan as Zane, locking onto the missile heading towards him, and aiming at it with his own arm cannon. He managed to shoot off a couple of bullets, hitting the projectile dead on with each, causing it to explode in the air. Ken watched as the three dispatched their very own rockets, but Ken had a different idea entirely. He ran towards his missile in a sudden dash. Meeting it in the middle, Ken grabbed on to the side of the explosive with both hands. The force of the rocket shoved him back somewhat, but he now held it firmly in his hands. "Improvised Martial Technique! Return to Kender!" Ken send, spinning around twice, and lobbing the missile right back at Mecha. "WHAT?!" The menacing machination retorted, before the missile impacted him at twice the speed it was launched at. As all the dust settled, Mecha Sonic stood there in a hobbled pile of metal and sparks. "Gah...impossible...I am Mecha Sonic..." Mecha Sonic's systems were firing off system failure after system failure. His leg had all but ceased function, and his vision was shorting in and out. The attacks from these Mobians had done a surprising amount of damage to him...not that he was in the very best condition from the start of the fight. "DAMNIT! This is not what I was told would happen..." Chaos' chest opened up to reveal a Red Jewel. "I must make a tactical retreat for now...do not die before I have the chance to rip you apart myself, Mobians! CHAOS CONTROL!" "You're finished!" Chimera shouted, before unleashing another hail of bullets towards Mecha. However, before the bullets met their destination, Mecha sonic had disappeared in a weird distortion of reality. He had vanished without a trace. "Damn you...you coward!" Chimera slammed a fist into the ground, denting the metal floor with ease. He took a moment, before rising to his feet slowly. "Now the question is...what to do with the rest of you." His red eyes glared towards the group of Mobians. Ken turned back to see Chimera now staring down his comrades. He put himself between the three in a flash, holding out his arms. "We don't want to fight you, Chimera! We didn't mean to trespass." Ken shouted. Chimera's eyes lowered their brightness settings from Glare to tepid. "Hmph. As if you'd stand a chance. I have no intentions of eliminating you at the moment. On the contrary. I am sadly in your debts for your assistance in repelling my brother. Wait here one moment." Chimera began to walk towards the large building he had been explosively ejected out of. He looked at the crumpled, rusted state of his brother, Metal Sonic. Rubbing the top of his head, Chimera took the drive that had downloaded his consciousness, and placed it in a holding compartment in his arm. "Don't worry brother...I will make sure your will shall carry on." He turned away from the lifeless shell, leaving it behind as he walked out of the door. Chimera began walking in the opposite direction of the site of the battle, motioning towards the group of Mobians. "Follow me." Ken nodded. He looked to the other two before shrugging. "I don't know if we can trust this guy...but It's not like we can leave anytime soon." He began to follow Chimera, walking briskly behind the tall robot. "As I mentioned to you before, hedgehog, you are on the Island known as Eggland. A creation of my brilliant creator, Dr. Robotnik. This island is miles away from any sort of Mobian mainland...you'll be stranded here unless you can find a way to get across the sea." "I see." Ken stated, looking back towards the horizon. "No. The sea. Anyway, when I accessed the island's intranet, I noticed that there were still records of a certain sea faring vessel still here. If I'm able to get it up and running, I'm sure it'll be of use to you." In no time, the group had found themselves in some sort of underground hanger. As the lights came on, a singular, large vessel was shown in the room. "This was once part of my creators grand fleet. It has sat here for nearly 200 years, unused. It is regrettable that I would let lowly Mobians use it, but if this absolves me of further helping you then so be i-" Chimera's body began to spontaneously explode in array of sparks, as his eyes burnt out. He collapsed to the floor in an instant, unable to move "CHIMERA!" Ken shouted. He ran up to the robot, before trying to lift him up. He was incredibly heavy, but Ken managed to flip him onto his back. The gaps in his armor, and his damaged arm shot sparks all over the place. "Something's wrong with him! Is either of you good at fixing whatever the hell he is?!"

  15. "First off...no need for the kneeling...I'm not all about that." The wolf said, shaking his head. "Second, I'll help you out. I may be in over my head with something like this, but if someone needs help, I may as well do what I can to do my part, ya know?" "Yeah, well, I'm sure we got time to sort some of this out. Let's figure out where we are first and go from there." Ken smiled, lifting off of his knee to stand up straight. "You have my thanks, Zane." Flurry on the other hand was a bit more hesitant to give a straight answer. Something that was totally acceptable in the circumstances he found himself in. "Flurry's right. Let's continue to gather information. Can't do anything about saving Mobius if we don't even know what part we're on!" Ken's attention was then drawn towards the clanking of metal on the ground, a strange sort of golem erupting from the building they had decided to investigate. It was followed shortly by a more imposing golem of metal. Ken's fist tightened. This was most definitely a fight. A piercing red eye met Ken's, and then scanned the rest of the group. "ORGANICS!? On this Island?! Impossible!" An Arctic Wolf then placed himself in between the two Badniks. Ice appeared before the wolf, coating the ground below in a thick layer of frost. Mecha could already feel his grip on the ground slipping. "And troublesome one's at that!" The icicles shot forth at his feet, the first shattering as Mecha brought a swift kick to it. However, the momentum, and slick surface he found himself on, made him fall off balance. The second icicle, made impact with Mecha's waist. At the exact moment of impact, Flurry's wind gave the icicle a push that drove it through the metal. "HRGH!" Mecha grunted, as the Icicle remained lodged in his lower body, small sparks flying, as he received warnings of less movement function of his left leg. "Troublesome pests!" Chimera tried to stand to his feet, but slipped on his damaged arm. "What are Organics doing in Eggland." Ken stepped up to Chimera's side, not looking at the unsettling sight of moving metal. "We were teleported here." Ken looked around at the metallic place they had found themselves in. It definitely hadn't seemed like a natural structure from the moment they landed here. It must've been created. "Eggland huh...I've never heard of it." The thought that the name of the mighty Dr. Robotnik had faded from modern consciousness almost brought his mental capacitors to their brink. He was livid. If he could take this Mobian's life, he would do so in an instant. However, now was not the time. He had to save Metal. He had to defeat Mecha. The white Hedgehog offered a hand to Chimera, causing the Badnik to pause briefly. "You don't seem like the bad guy here. Let us help you." Another brief pause in Chimera's murderous thoughts was followed by a swift slap of Ken's hand. "I need no help from Organics. I am MS-11 Chimera. The peak of the great Dr. Robotnik's designs!" Chimera pushed himself up, sparks flying from his arms as he did so. "I'll accept your help for now, Hedgehog." "Ken." the white Hedgehog crossed his arms. "My name is Ken." The two looked at each other, Chimera's head titled down towards him. "Hedgehog." Chimera stated, as he walked towards the conflict. Ken did the same, walking slowly behind the Metallic Golem. The Mobians he had found himself in the company of seemed to be incredibly capable. Flurry commanded the wind, as Zane did with Ice. "You guys are incredible." He said, striking the same pose he had as he had met them the first time. "Let me show you what I can do." Mecha shattered the ice that protruded from his frame, leaving a chunk in his body. "So...you've been hiding Organics from me to use for an ambush? How pathetic, Chimera." Mecha Sonic's arm shifted into a gun, with a flame held out in front of it. He shot a flame towards Zane, melting the ice path from underneath the two of them with a rushing torrent of flame. He then turned the fire up, aiming it completely at Zane. Chimera did nothing, but saw that the white Hedgehog had disappeared from his vision. A crater, in the metal had formed from where he last stood. Suddenly, Ken appeared right in front of the fire's path. "HURRIKEN!" Ken roared, as he kicked the space in front of the fire. A strong gust of wind, almost as strong as Flurry's prior attack, followed Ken's kick, as it put out the entire stream of fire almost instantaneously. Ken landed, dashing forward again to land a roundhouse kick straight into Mecha's side. "WHAT?!" Both Mecha and Chimera exclaimed, as Mecha's posture crumbled beneath the incredible weight of Ken's kick. Ken's kick followed through, as he sent Mecha flying across the ground. He made contact with the ground, but wasn't able to land, as he bounced a couple of more times down the road. The hedgehog lowered his leg, as he let out a deep breath. "I've fought trees tougher than you, golem." Ken gloated, cracking a smile. He'd never been in a real fight until this moment. "I. Am not. A golem!" Mecha said, as he staggered back to his feet. "I am Mecha Sonic! THE GREATEST CREATION OF ROBOTNIK! And the last thing you will ever see!" Mecha Sonic then launched four missiles from his arm cannon, one aimed at each of the others.
  16. ”Alright, students! Time’s up. Go ahead and head back to the school’s arena, where the rest of the event will be held. The results of this first leg are being determined as we speak, to be announced when you arrive! Good luck,” a light chuckle could be heard from the school’s headmaster, not quite out of range of the microphone, ”you’ll need it.” Kio collapsed to the ground, huffing and puffing, holding his broken arm to his side. His forehead was drenched in sweat, but he wore a huge smile despite his crumpled state. "There's no such thing as luck! So keep it to yourself, Number 77!" Kio shouted into the sky, as he continued to smile through the pain. *moments later* Kio had been treated by the school's Nurse Neko in the intermission from their last test and their present assembly. Her quirk had worked like a charm, relieving him of his pain, as he could slowly feel his arm healing back. Broken bones came back stronger, a factoid that had stuck with him through many injuries in his past. It was still tender for the moment, but he could move it freely. He looked to the main stage, noticing that Orikami was now turning their attention towards the giant monitor that held their scores. Among the competitors that made it past this round, his face was among the top 16. However, his heart sank a bit once he realized he was only in 13th place. Disappointment weighed him down, if only for a second. He had never scored so low in any kind of test or competition before. He smacked his cheeks. "You knew this was gonna happen Kio! Don't be bummed that you didn't get first, get psyched that you placed at all without using your quirk!" It just meant he was going to have to try way harder in the next round! Speaking of the next round, it was a game of chicken and tag! Kio thought for a moment. He would be pretty much useless as a base...he had no utility, and would probably tire out faster than the more physical quirk oriented students. But as the rider, he could be way more flexible. He needed somebody just as flexible as him as a base to shoulder his shortcomings as well. Someone agile...someone nimble. Kio scanned the crowd, noticing people were already beginning to partner up. There wasn't any time to lose then. Kio had a first pick in his mind already. "Yo! Sun!" Kio said, waving to his hulking classmammal. "Congrats on beating me in the first round! You must've gone ape!" Was that in poor taste? Kio pressed on. "So, how's about you and I team up? If we can do a little scouting before getting serious, I'm sure I'll have everyone's weird muscle movements and quirks memorized. That way, we can play a little recklessly!" Kio then held out his hands, turning them over to reveal his Memory Cards, each having a label with a quirk name written down. "And if it comes down to it, I'll even let you pick what Quirk I'll use!" Kio smiled. "We'd be up against a lot of hard hitters with crazy quirks! Does that sound fun or what!?" After the first round was over, Meru had found herself in the girls bathroom, scrubbing off her tongue. An activity she had to do frequently after vigorously using her quirk for extended periods of time. She could still taste all of the microbes that were laced around each and every stuffed animal she saved. "Yuh!" She exclaimed, as she began to really put some elbow grease into it. It wasn't before long that she had finished, and now hurried out to meet everyone out at the assembly. However, as she was hurrying by, she noticed someone who was watching the events play out from all the way back here. As she ran past, she noticed that it was someone very special to her. Excitedly, she ran straight up to who she recognized as a pro hero. No one could mistake her...the Mask she wore was too iconic. "Mythewious Hewo: Mathque?" Meru asked rather sheepishly. The hero seemed to spring to life. "Ah! Yes! I'm a hero!" Masque looked to the girl, her eyes softly expressive through the eyes of her mask. "You're a student, and one of the competitors in the sports festival, right? Konishi Meru...if I'm not mistaken? Even though I'm ranked number 10, I don't get many fans..." Meru's eyes lit up, as she began to dance on her tiptoes. She knew her name! She really knew her name! "Yeth!" Meru had almost forgotten to bow, so she did so in a hurry. "I'm Konithi Mewu! It'th an honor to meet you oneth again!" "Again?" The hero raised an eyebrow. "Have we met before?" Meru shook her head rapidly, and unwound the scarf from around the bottom portion of her face and neck. She finally exposed her full face, with her large tongue drooping almost down to her chest. She then neatly folded the scarf and bowed as she presented it to her, tears filling her eyes. "Thank you vewy much! I don' nee to hi behin dhis anymore!" Masque went to take the scarf, coming to the realization of who this girl was. "You're that gir-" "THANK YOU! THANK YOU!" Meru said, bowing repeatedly, before turning on her heel and bolting out of the hallway and towards the field. *moments later* Meru's head was dizzy from the fact that she had placed as highly as she did. And now she had to find a partner! Ah, she had been in such a daze that she was late in pairing up with anybody! Although, there was one of her classmates who hadn't been approached yet. Meru couldn't blame them. It was like approaching a star from a mile away. It almost hurt to look at him honestly sometimes. Meru sheepishly walked up to Tai and tugged at his gym uniform. "Uhm...Thai...coul you be my parner...I pwomith I won' thcwew things up for you." She was red in the face. This was the first time she'd been amongst her classmates without her scarf, and she was morbidly embarrassed. Maybe if she asked nicely, Masque would lend her that scarf back after all of this was over...was she too rash in her decision? Was she really confident enough to go through the rest of the Sports Festival without it. Her hand quivered as he clutched Tai's uniform tighter. "Pleath..."
  17. "Ah, investigation...yeah, shouldn't be too much of a problem in a dump like this." The Arctic wolf kept pace behind Ken, as they crossed the land. Ken had never seen anything like a place like this...as if the ground itself was made of hard metal. "Anyway, you said you were atop Ferris Mountains, Ken? Yeah...gonna go on a wild limb here and say that's waaaaaaay far from here...probably just as far as Metropolis is from here. Cause I was in Metropolis about this time before the whole hole dealie." "Hah!" Ken laughed, "Yeah I have no idea where that is, so who knows! But the Ferris Mountains are the tallest mountain range on Mobius! You can practically see them from across the planet!" That being said, Ken couldn't see it from where they were now. "I will say, I was helping some police officers out as a sort of hired hand to apprehend a criminal and after that, the skies got like pitch black...and of course this was after we had some creepy inky creatures to fight against. Like the type of boogeyman that parents tell their kids about just to keep them in line, ya know?" Inky creatures? Pitch black sky? Looks like they all had pretty much the same experience before coming here. "Same story here except I was out in the middle of no where checking out some canyon. It got swarmed with these crazy looking guys that were all identical to each other. I was just about to get on Roxie's ship when I fell here instead..." The lemur explained while looking at the strange device they held in their hands. "Hey, uh, Ken right? This question's probably not gonna make any sense, I mean I don't even know all that much about this stuff yet, so tell me if you have no idea what I'm talking about. But you wouldn't happen to have something... chaos related on you? Or like, chaos adjacent maybe. 'Cuz, wow, either this thing's more messed up than I thought or you're just swimming in whatever this chaos stuff is." Ken stopped in his tracks at the mention of Chaos. He turned to Flurry, and nodded. He dug into his vest, and brought forth a shining, silver jewel. "This was something my master gave me before I also fell into one of those portals. I was never the best student, but if I remember correctly, this is a Chaos Emerald." Ken took some time to get a good look of the artifact, it's silver gleam glistening in the rays of the sun. "It's said that these things contain crazy power...but I don't feel anything when I hold it." He sighed. "I just don't have a knack for Chaos I guess." Kio then turned to Zane. "And those inky creatures...they're a being called Mephiles the Dark. I don't really know who he is, but my Master had beef with him. They were fighting before I was forced to go." His fist clutched tightly, his knuckles popping loudly as he did so. "I don't know about you guys...but I'm going to destroy Mephiles, and save Mobius." Ken then brought himself to a knee. "I know you guys don't know me...but my master chose you two for a reason...so will you two help me?" Chimera flung his arms up defensively, as the spines of Silver Sonic lodged themselves into his arms. A low humming noise emanated from the sharp steel, turning into a high frequency beeping in the matter of milliseconds. An explosion erupted from Chimera's arms, sending him flying backwards and onto the floor. Sparks began to fly from Chimera's limbs, but they were still operational. From the smoke, Mecha emerged once more in a full throttle assault. Chimera's back thruster boosted him to his feet, as he met Mecha head on with a clash of fists. Their metallic knuckles scraped against each other, the friction of steel causing even more sparks to sail through the air. Chimera's fractured arms gave way, as Mecha's punch met his face. "Pathetic." Mecha Sonic groaned, as he approached the fallen MS-11. "And here I was expecting to get serious." "I'm a new model." Chimera chided. "You're gonna have to do better than serious." Chimera picked himself off the floor, Metal Sonic's rusted frame just within vision. His left arm shifted into a chain gun, taking it's time to do so due to the damage his arms had sustained. The Badnik then twisted around, to unleash a barrage of bullets towards Mecha. Mecha crouched down, and entered his spiked ball form, ripping into the steel floor below as he began to twirl with force. He shot forward, deflecting every bullet that came his way, eventually colliding with Chimera's body once again. MS-11 flew across the room, and outside the main door, where he fell in line of sight of 3 biological signatures. "HAHAHAHA!" Mecha Sonic cackled, as he strutted out of the Eggquarters. "Your parts are as good as mine, Chimera!"
  18. The wolf was the first to respond. "First...chill. We're as confused as you are...considering I'm going to bet we all had the same experience...which is, falling from some sort of wormhole dealie...in which you both landed on my furry hide." A wormhole? Was that the thing he had just fallen into? So the same thing happened to this guy. "Second...no iota of a clue where we are. One thing's for sure, the place is a total dump. Third...name's Zane. Can't account for the green one over here, but now you at least have my name out in the open...to which I assume this is where the introductions would be taking place." "Uh, hi, green one here." Ken's attention turned to the aforementioned 'green one'. "Flurry's the name, tech's my game or something like that." The mobian held onto some sort of device, that was beeping rather intensely at the moment. "B-but I didn't do any of this. Same deal as Zane here, I was getting on a ship when I just fell into that colorful portal and ended up falling here." Ken took a deep breath, and slowly stood up straight. He closed his eyes, and let the breath out, opening his eyes sharply towards the two. "Zane and Flurry, huh?" Some of Silver's final words rang through his head. Was this his 'help'? They didn't look like they could be of much use, but Ken wouldn't go against the better judgement of his master. Ken pointed a thumb towards himself, his eyes still sharp as a knife. "The name's Ken. I've lived atop the Ferris Mountains my entire life...so let's just say...this is kind of a shock to me. I've never met other Mobians before, other than my master." He scratched the back of his head, a sigh loosened his snarled face. "Sorry about snapping...it's been a wild day." Just as flurry had been clutching his strange device, Ken could be seen holding his with just as much of a vice grip. "So we have no idea where we are, right? So let's find out." Ken pointed towards the large building in the distance. "Let's start heading over there," He said, starting a fast walking pace towards the place, "And tell me what was going on before you fell here...this can't be a coincidence." Mecha boosted forward towards Chimera, slashing at the Badnik. "The...Others...?" Chimera processed the statement. His servos were igniting with heat. Was this...anger? With a mere sidestep, Chimera dodged Mecha's rushed attack. The thrusters in his boots shot to life, his foot being shot from the ground. It prompted his knee to land straight into Mecha's center of mass. The light faded from the Machine's eyes for a moment, as Chimera then shot his hands in front of his chest. Flames erupted from a hole in both palms. "INCINERATE AND TURN TO ASH!" He shouted, as a massive well of flames engulfed Mecha's metallic frame, the room being lit up with dazzling light. When the flames died down, Mecha could be seen a further distance away from Chimera. His metallic body was a fine shade of red, as smoke seemed to rise off of it. The hissing of near molten steel was intensified as Mecha fanned his surface down. "No need to get so heated, MS-11. This is only a natural part of war. You have to hunt down insurgents, and dispose of them, while also taking a piece of them for your own." Silver spines shot out from between his fingers. "These are the spoils of war!" Mecha threw the spines towards Chimera. "Here! A gift from Silver Sonic! I'm sure he's happy to see you again!"
  19. Old Eggland The clash sent a shockwave that seemed to rumble the entire floor. Chimera's arm clashing against Mecha's made the air ring out with the sound of grating metal. Sparks flew in the space between them, bouncing off of their faces. Chimera was the first to be forced back, Mecha's sheer power was almost too much to bear. He had barely just booted back up, and he was already in the fight of his life against one of his more powerful brothers. Mecha took advantage of Chimera's crumbling stance, pushing further into his arm, and laughing every step he advanced. "MS-11 Chimera! A model built after me!? Supposedly the Doctor's greatest masterpiece?! It's laughable!" Proving his point, he began to cackle even harder. "Look how weak he made you! Look how much superior I am!" Chimera took one step back, only to quickly pivot on it, and released his arm from the clash between the two robots. Mecha Sonic stumbled forward at the sudden loss of resistance, and watched as Chimera's pivot turned into a roundhouse kick. Mecha ignited his boosters, but was unable to dodge the swift blow to the back of his head. He was sent flying across the room, crashing into a rather unimportant looking console. As he tried to free himself from the Badnik shaped dent, his defense systems alerted him to an incoming missile barrage. "Why you-!" Was all that escaped him, before four missiles collided against his metallic frame and the console he had found himself stuck in. The explosion could be heard across the island. "The Doctor didn't give us mouths for a reason." Chimera chided, lowering his arm that had transformed into a Missile Launcher. "You talk way too much." From the dust, Mecha emerged, dusting himself off. The missiles only seeming to have put a couple of dents in his body. "I see the Doctor still lacked an imagination when designing your weapon's system. You could be so much more, Chimera!" Mecha's arm opened up, revealing the hilt of some kind of sword, igniting a beam that was 4-feet long. "When I'm through with you, I'll make sure your spare parts go to more upgrades for myself." He lowered his head, raising his eye to meet Chimera. "Just like I did with all of the others." Still Old Eggland It felt like an eternity, as Ken fell through that seemingly endless void. All he could see were the colors, but his mind was racing. Was Silver okay? What did he mean by all those things he said. Why did he give him a Chaos Emerald? Weren't these things some of the most powerful objects on Mobius? Even though he held it so close, he couldn't feel anything special about it. Of course not. He couldn't feel Chaos. He was numb to it. Or perhaps ignorant. That's not important right now Ken. Where was he going now? Would there be more Mephiles where he was going? His answer would come soon enough, as another hole opened up in his path. "Hey, are you okay?" Were the first words he heard, as he fell right on top of something fluffy. "Yeah...I'm alright." Ken said, looking to where the voice had come from. His eyes laid upon a Mobian of some sort...but he wasn't well versed in all the types there were...even though he was supposed to study all of this stuff with Silver. He was never really the best student when it came to anything except fighting. Speaking of fighting, he jumped back and away from the green Mobian, assuming a stance. Now a good distance from his landing spot, he had seen what he had landed on top of. It was grey wolf Mobian. They were pretty distinct, so Ken could tell straight away. "Sorry for crashing on you, dude." the Hedgehog apologized. He shook his head, his daze had faded. His eyes turned fiery, as he looked to the green one. "Who are you two!" Ken roared, still furious from what had preceded his teleportation. "And where the hell are we!?" Ken tightened his pose. "Answer me, because I'm not in the mood for messing around right now."
  20. Kio's frantic hunt for plushies to save continued on at a breakneck pace. A bead of sweat dropped down his head, the first one to do so since he had started this mock patrol of his. Since the Jewelry Store rescue, he had managed to amass a whole whopping two more points, plushies saved from trees. It was sad, but his acrobatic abilities were perfectly suited for tree climbing, and these points were freebies along his route. He kept his breathing at an optimal pace, as he desperately looked for some more action. Across the way, he noticed a Ferris Wheel had somehow gotten loose, and rampaged throughout the site of the exam, luckily being stopped in it's place at the end of the arena. How many plushies were saved from that alone?! Kio was jealous. If he had a quirk to stop a runaway freight train, he'd be the one at the top of this thing...but that wouldn't have been nearly as fun or challenging. His attention was broken from the sound of honking, and a loud crashing sound. Two medium sized, silver cars had been launched at each other from opposite ends of the street, crashing into one another. Kio made a dash for the cars, as they began to billow with smoke on the inside, the engines spontaneously bursting into flames. Kio looked inside the car closest to him, trying to open the doors, but they had been locked from the inside. Not to mention, the front doors had been crumpled in on themselves, making opening them impossible from the start. Kio almost started to panic, as he saw two plushies in the back seat, buckled down safely. Kio stood back from the door, and braced his elbow for a wicked bash against the window. It took multiple times, but Kio managed to shatter the glass. The smoke washed out into his face, as he covered his mouth and eyes. He had memorized where the seat buckles and plushies both resided. He dove through the window to unfasten the plushies and take them out of the car. There was no driver, so Kio hurried to the next car, only finding one more plushie in the driver seat with it's airbag deployed. Using his other elbow, Kio pulled the same stunt he had with the last, saving the last point holder and carrying them far away from the accident. "No wonder you guys crashed into each other. You're obviously no tall enough to be operating a motor vehicle sir." Kio's heart was pounding. That was real fire and smoke. He had just performed a 'real' rescue. He was enthralled! Elated even! Being a hero was going to be way too much fun if he got to do stuff like this everyday! Kio stepped away, and continued to run. Or at least, he tried to run, as both of his feet weren't able to leave the ground. Kio looked to his shoes to notice they were stuck to the street with some oddly shaded substance that looked akin to ABC gum. Kio looked at the site with disgust. Disgust that someone left a big glob of gum here, and disgust in himself for getting caught in it. "Hey there Haru, we caught another one!" the voice came from a girl, casually stepping out of a house behind Kio. "So what's this one do?" A boy, Haru, hopped down from a large tree planted at the street corner, carefully dusting himself off before inspecting their newest catch. However, the moment he recognized Kio, his eyes widened, shouting to the girl, ”Gumi! The back of his neck! Now!” without delay, the girl behind Kio perked up and threw what would appear to be a baseball-sized glob of chewed-up bubblegum directly at the specified area. At the boy’s command, Kio immediately twisted his hips to get a good look behind him, ducking immediately to get his neck out of harm’s way. He saw the twisted up ball of gum soar over him, getting a good idea on how things were starting to unravel. “Tch.” Kio spat out the ground. His lowered stance went even lower as he started to untie his shoes. “So you know my quirk, huh?” Kio performed a perfect backflip out of his shoes, making sure not to land in any gum as he did so. “Lucky for you, I don’t need it to take out a couple of no names like yourselves.” As he flipped toward her, Gumi’s hands were immediately filled once again by the globs of gum. She dove directly at Kio, both arms extended in an attempt to gum him up yet again. All the while, a crowd was starting to gather around them, cheering for the two general students and booing Kio. ”You don’t seem to get it. Even if your quirk went off, you wouldn’t stand a chance. You see…” Haru’s left arm instantly bulked up to be the size of the rest of his body, ”With support like this, my quirk Blow-Up becomes supreme in combat!” The boy slammed his now enlarged fist into the pavement in front of him, sending a wave forward as the concrete shattered beneath the force, destabilizing the ground beneath Kio as Gumi’s attack went in at him. The situation turned rather unfavorable. He knew what the girl was capable of already, but throwing in Blow-Up really shook things up, literally as a matter of fact. Kio’s balance was uneven, the thought of using this girl’s momentum to throw her at the boy was now out the window. His mind raced, he had to think of something fast. Kio dropped his body low to the ground, planting both of his hands onto the pavement for extra stability. His legs exploded, as he launched himself directly at the boy with the hulking appendage, through the wave of rubble that collided with his face and upper torso. Landing with a somersault, Kio rolled into a punch aimed square into the boy’s right side ribcage. Haru grunted as he took the solid hit in the ribs. He was not prepared for his opponent to make such a direct attack in spite of his own physical advantage. ”Gumi, hold off for now. We don’t want this stuff getting on me.” The girl nodded, stepping back and leaving the two to fight one-on-one. “What’s the matter?” Kio smiled rather smugly, as he reveled in the memory of his fist digging into the boy’s torso, “You’re gonna need her help if you want to beat me. Or are you just not up for a real fight?” Haru’s face contorted into rage, as his entire upper body and both arms expanded, giving him a stature closer to a car than a person. ”Listen here, you runt, at the end of this day, I am going to be in the Hero Course, and you are going to be on a stretcher. Slamming one of his enormous fist down in front of Kio, using the other as a push-off point to increase the power behind his swing and destabilize the ground once again. As an immediate follow-up, he pivoted on his giant arm, and expanded one of his legs to strike at Kio faster than a normal attack would. ”EVERYONE will know the name of Kazama Haru, and I’ll be stronger than I’ve ever been!” At the sight of this Haru kid raising his fist, Kio smiled. He’d seen this before, the exact same muscle twitches from the first attack. Kio planted himself back onto the ground like a frog, but now his opponent was on the offense. He had stretched his leg, something Kio had forgot to anticipate, as Haru came in like lightning with a large swing. Kio pulled his same maneuver, jumping into Haru’s swing, the boy’s enlarged fist making contact with Kio’s arm. Kio could feel his joint leave the socket from the sheer force alone, but he persevered. Midway through his jump along the boy’s arm, Kio landed a kick that veered it off it’s intended course, and straight into that pool of sticky gum he had fell for prior to the fight. The use of his left arm was shaky at best, so Kio rolled onto his left shoulder. A shot at one of Haru’s larger body parts probably wouldn’t do much damage, so instead he aimed for the current smallest part of his body, his unenlarged leg. Kio made a swift kick aimed straight towards the boy’s calf, with all the power of a lightweight kickboxer behind it. “Kazama Haru, huh?” Kio said under an exhaled breath, “Unfortunately, I’ll have to remember that name from now on.” Not expecting the redirect, Haru fell hook line and sinker for it, his fis embedding itself in the sidewalk and becoming engulfed in the gum, his leg buckling under the impact but the rest of his stance uninterrupted as he used his arms and expanded leg to support himself. Grinning, he panted out a response, ”You’re welcome. You know, the last two hero course students we encountered didn’t last this long. How about you join my agency after we graduate? I’m always looking for good support.” With a start, he lifted the arm that Kio had put in the gum, taking the gum along with several chunks of pavement with it. ”You should forfeit the Sports Festival now, Akagi, I don’t think you want to get hit by this one. Despite the friendliness in his voice and face, he took the opportunity to make a full-force sucker-punch directly at Kio with his newly-armored fist, dropping down to a knee to protect the leg he wasn’t able to expand. Kio’s eyes widened as his focus shifted from Haru’s smile to a huge, cement clad fist that approached him rapidly. With the reflexes he could muster, Kio vaulted to the side, the sedimentary punch clashing with his already damaged left arm. Kio had never broken a single bone in his body before, so this intense pain was new to him, however, he landed to the side with just a mere wince of his eye. His teeth bit down on his lips, as the landing sent a shockwave of pain from his shattered arm. It dangled loosely as Kio held it to his side. “Join your Hero Agency?” Kio’s voice washed over the crowd around him, as he dramatically rose his head to meet Haru’s gaze. “Why would I join the agency of a coward who uses dirty tactics, like you?” Kio’s finger raised into the air. “A hero meets his challenges head on! Saving the day, effortlessly!! But here you are, laying traps for students to take them out of the running, trying to ruin their dreams! What kind of person would I be, If I joined an agency run by you!” Kio slammed a foot forward towards Haru. “I’m gonna be a Hero! And you’re not gonna stop me!” Haru waited silently as Kio went on about his aspirations, but his contempt could be heard loud and clear. “Is that all? I’m gonna crush you now.” Raising his armored fist above Kio’s head, he grinned down at the boy, ”Don’t worry, I’ll tell the girls in class you only cried a bit.” However, before he could bring his fist down, it rapidly shrunk back to normal size, suddenly encased completely in the pavement as he stumbled, unable to support the weight with only two expanded limbs. ”What the hell is… "You know, Haru, he's kinda got a point..." Haru’s face turned to one of horror as his remaining two limbs returned to their regular size, as Gumi calmly approached Kio, blowing a bubble with a suspiciously familiar pink gum. The crowd that had once been cheering now murmured amongst themselves, some of them even scattering to try to take on the challenge on their own. Kio took another step towards Haru, and extended a hand. “You can be a hero too, you know? If you’re up to it, that is?”
  21. Before he knew it, here they were. The U.A. Sports festival was about to begin. Kio had been training for this moment since he walked into U.A., and now he stood on the same stage as some of the biggest names in the Hero Industry. His nerves hadn't been so shaky since his first baseball game, but this sensation was what he strived for. This crowd had to be a thousand times bigger than his baseball games too. Kio began stretching like crazy, trying to contain himself while the gate before all of the students remained closed for now. If he had one critique of the setup, it'd be the commentators. Probably two of the most unlikely...although he didn't mind Glory being there. He'd get to watch this student shine! The first event was simple. Rescue plushies from various situations. Sounded easy enough...but for Kio it'd be anything but. He was basically just a super athletic kid without a memory card inserted...and he wouldn't be able to waste one until it counted the most. He took a deep breath in, and then out. ”Go! You only have half an hour!” Kio bolted off, a lot faster than his fellow students might have been able, but obviously fell behind those with much more physically based quirks. He looked around at all of the other students he had yet to encounter, and was super excited to see what quirks they'd all bring to the table! He couldn't contain himself anymore. "YAHOOOOOOO!!!!" He extended both arms into the air, and continued to run at full force, his head reaching towards the sky. That's when something strange rushed past Kio's teeth, and straight towards the back of his throat. Kio instinctively bit down, chomping what he realized now was one of Hakaro's starlings in half. He but his arms out in front of his face, defending himself from the onslaught of harmless birds, as he kept up the pace. Hakaro and some other kid, who made his way up front with a bang, seemed to be arguing a bit. The flood of students closing the gap, they could see a building in front of the two catch on fire. The two made their way, making that building a lost cause for most of the stragglers, including him. Kio hadn't broken a sweat yet, which means he wasn't really running as fast as he could, so he kicked it into high gear, mimicking the movements of Olympic level athletes, as he made a mad dash past the towering inferno. Soon, after a few block, he heard the ringing of an emergency alarm. It came from a building simply labeled, 'Jewelry'. This was his chance! Kio sprinted towards the building, and straight towards the window, covering his body with his arms and legs as he jumped through the glass. He tucked himself in, and rolled across the luxuriously carpeted floor, and behind a counter. He could hear shots ringing out through the building, as he took a piece of glass to get a good look at the perpetrators. They were robots, most likely firing off rubber bullets. Only two of them, and they stuck together in a stationary line. Kio smiled. "No biggie!" Kio rolled across the floor, flicking the large shard of glass with extreme precision towards the position where he remembered the first robot, lodging it into the robot's large optic center. It wouldn't stop the robot's function, but now one of them couldn't see. Upon reaching more cover, he saw two stuffed plushies, bound with rope. He picked them up off the floor, and held them in his grasp firmly. Kio reappeared from cover, and smiled. "Hey, over here!" The robots turned to where they heard him, but the robot with dysfunctional vision began to shoot it's companion, who happened to be in the line of fire from Kio's voice. With the functional robot now bombarded by loads of rubber bullets, Kio made another dash for the entrance, getting the plushies outside and to the side of the building. "Phew...that's two saved already." Kio dropped the two plushies, as they landed with a soft plop. "How many until I'm at the top of this thing..." Kio instinctively had started running down a street once more, "No time to think, gotta find some action!"
  22. (Uh oh here he goes again making another Interest Check) Premise Nobody knows why, or when, the pit was made. All that people know is that it rains metal from the heavens. Once every year, the sky of the pit opens, and a cavalcade of trash is thrown into the pit. Alongside the garbage are treasures, battling robots known once as Medabots. It's said in the past that these Medabots were used as a form of entertainment, but that's all changed in the pit. Getting your hands on a Medabots frame is akin to hitting the lottery, and the denizens of the pit war for these. At the bottom of the pit is where the scrappers reside, the lowest caste of people who live in the lowest level of this place. Down here, it's a miracle to even find a scrap piece of Medabots material, let alone a whole frame. Down here, robattling is a battle of life or death. You are a scrapper...and your hopes to rise to the top of the pit is all that keeps you going...can you Robattle to the top, and solve the mysteries of the pit?
  23. Mt. Ferris Silver grit his teeth, not even shooting a glance back to Ken. He was way too old to be doing this sort of thing anymore...but he had to make sure there was still hope. He clutched at his chest, his heart beating faster than it had in the last 10 years. He couldn't help but smile, as the green light from his hand grew brighter. Another shockwave of psychokinetic energy bashed the army of shadows that slowly approached him, disintegrating far more this time than before. "I'm honestly sort of glad you were resurrected again. Maybe this time, someone will finally be able to stop you once and for all. No stop gaps this time, like a flimsy seal would do. No...this time you'll be put in your final resting place, and sent straight to hell where you belong!" A loud hissing could be heard coming from the army of shadows, as they all sprung to a way more aggressive stance. "I wanted to take my time with this, you old codger. But it seems you're in a hurry to die. It's a shame I had to see the one who stopped me before in such a miserable shape, really. I'd hoped you would've put up more of a fight." The original Mephiles shot his arms to the side, as the clones behind him gathered into what looked like a tidal wave of crude oil. Shooting his hand out forward, the tidal wave began it's rapid approach towards Silver. The hedgehog trembled a bit, but laughed, outstretching his own hands forward to erect a giant green shield in front of him. As the wave of ink met the barrier, punches and kick could be seen appearing and disappearing from the black good, chipping away at the psychic shield. "NOW KEN!" The old hedgehog shouted, prompting the shattering of glass in an instant. Ken bolted from the house, springing into danger. He tried to run past Silver, but a concussive forced knocked him away. He didn't fall onto the ground, but rather fell into somewhere way more weightless. He looked around to see a cascade of colors around him, Silver growing more and more distant. He tried to reach out to the old Hedgehog. "Grampa Silver!" He watched, as his mentor reached into the same kind of portal from the other side, and pulling some sort of jewel out of it. "A CHAOS EMERALD?!" The shadows roared. "YOU WERE HIDING ONE OF THOSE IN FRONT OF ME THIS WHOLE TIME! HAND IT OVER YOU OLD FOOL!" Silver smiled, as he chucked the Silver Jewel towards Ken, surrounded by a thick forcefield of green light. "You'll win this war this time Ken. I'm sure of it. I'll send help your way as well." As the words rung out like an echo, Ken took hold of the emerald, as he watched his Grampa's barrier shatter, the wave of pure black enveloping his body. Ken cried out, but he couldn't hear anything as he slowly fell through this strange portal. Metropolis Slums Zane's icicles had hit their mark on one of the shades, shooting through it's head and it's body. It faded into ash, as the other kept on it's pursuit. With the floor as slick as oil, Zane would notice that the creature didn't have feet, but more of a smoldering shadow that held it's body up, unaffected by the frictionless surface. It looked around as Zane circled it with speed, unable to seemingly keep it's eyes pinned on the Arctic Wolf. A shot rang off, as one of Harvey's electrified bullets hit it's target. The shade was electrocuted, and promptly dissipated into nothingness. "Careful where you're gettin' that Ice. I coulda' slipped and hit ya, ya bastard." Harvey sighed, "You really helped us out...thanks fo' that." Harvey took out his wallet, and handed Zane a couple of Mobian Credits. "That's your tip...we'll get ya yer real reward once we head back to the precinct. Becky, ya done ova there yeet?" "HI-YAH!" Becky exclaimed, as she chopped a Shade in half. "Finished!" She posed, flashing the two of them a peace sign. "Alright...we have the target in our custody...better head back for now." Harvey made sure to watch out for any more traps as they exited the metal shack. But when the three of them exited through the door, they would notice that the sky had turned abnormally back. "Becky...what time is it?" Becky took a look at her wrist. "It's only 12:00pm, sir." "Somethin's right fishy..." That's when they could hear the screams ringing out. "Becky....noobie...we gotta make a run for it on the double. And Becky," The Dingo gave the officer a rather serious look, "Take the weights off..." Officer Becky gulped, and assumed another pose. "R-r-roger that..." She said, as a strange aura exploded off of her. The sudden release of energy would blow back Zane, but instead of landing on the ground, he'd see the two getting farther and farther away from him. Where he was now was weightless, and colors flashed around each side of him. Soon, Harvey and Becky would fade out of his vision. Becky and Harvey looked to where Zane would've been, and sighed. "Guess he didn't want the rest of his reward...Officer Becky, after you." "Aww...I thought he'd offer to help us out...well, no matter! Officer Becky is on patrol!" With a thundering boom, Becky ran off towards the main Metropolis area, leaving Harvey with an unconscious Cat over his shoulder. "Well...better get to gettin'!" Harvey shoved off as well, although not as quickly as Becky, but in a respectably fast fashion. Canyon Outskirts "Dunno what came over me. It's not like I'm attached to the town or anything but it just didn't feel right-" Roxie couldn't help but roll her eyes. "So you're the bleeding heart type, eh? You won't make it far in this life with that kinda attitude, you know." The two of them seemed to be heading in a weird direction, as if they were about to haul ass over one of the canyon hills and into the ravine. Without hesitation, Roxie kept pace. Liquid pools of shadows could be seen appearing by their sides, as monsters out of a storybook seemed to pop out at them, all the same shape and size, almost resembling a crystalline hedgehog. Roxie's fist cocked back, as she punched one of them square in the jaw as she flew past it. The force from her punch was enough to make the monster's head spin around a couple of times over. "How'd you like that one, ya ugly bastard!" She laughed, as she noticed she was about to meet the end of the canyon. "Your ship close? I could probably fly us to it" "Oh it's closer than you think! But since you can fly," Roxie threw her device towards him, "If we miss, make sure this doesn't get broken. You still gotta get all that goop outta there before I pay you!" Roxie ended up jumping off the side of the canyon, with a holler. "GERONIMO!!" If Flurry followed suit, he would notice a large hovering ship, akin to a pirate's, was hovering upwards to catch Roxie. "Hope you got your sea legs! Welcome to the S.S. Titan!" Roxie outstretched a hand to grab his. However, before Flurry would be able to get near the ships deck, a rift in time and space would open up straight in front of him. As it enveloped him, he'd become weightless, and bright colors would swirl around him, as he descended further through the portal. Old Eggland The question processed through his mind like sparks shooting off through an old circuit board. Was he the one to lead the new Egg Empire? Why would the doctor leave such a task in one of his creation's hands. He looked at to the fading Metal Sonic, and back to his own hands. It didn't take long for him to formulate a response. "Preposterous. Our creator would never leave his glorious vision in the hands of inferior beings such as us." A fading ping resonated within Chimera's processors, akin to an organic's cough, it was merely an operational error. "I suppose you're right." Metal Sonic faintly agreed. "But the again...the Doctor must've had an idea of who it was going to be. Maybe they have yet to awaken...and we were meant to find them..." Metal Sonic's signal grew fainter still. "Why didn't he tell us...why did he have to seal you away for so long...sometimes I think he really was mad." A worrisome ping was sent Metal's way. "You should cease communications brother...the more energy you waste now, the more likely it'll be for you to fade entirely." Chimera incessantly tapped on the operating system's screens. He was desperate for that not to happen. From the console, a drive was produced. Chimera took it, and then approached the crumbled Metal Sonic. He inserted the drive into a designated slot in the side of Metal's head. "I'm going to download your drives and files onto this...we need your help to rebuild the empire...we can't have you dying here." Chimera looked at his withering brother. "I can't have you dying here." "Ah...thank you MS-11..." The Badnik then fell into a power saving mode, unable to operate as his 'consciousness' was being downloaded into the stick drive. Soon after, the EggNet was back up in it's entirety. Pinging could be heard from every corner of Mobius, but they were all faint...all distant...unable to be decoded properly. But Chimera could tell were they were. That's when he noticed that current EggNet that had been Installed on this operating device was out of date. That must've meant somebody had made a new version somewhere...one of these pings had to be it. But something was worrying him now...a ping was getting closer and closer to this island. It approached at only a speed one of his brothers was able to fly at. A crash could be heard coming from the metal ceiling above, revealing a robotic hedgehog that looked rather sharp and menacing. "Mecha..." Chimera said, his head lowering in a sign of annoyance. "Ah...MS-11...the savior..." Mecha Sonic brought himself to stand tall, almost towering above Chimera. "I was wondering where they hid you...they deleted all of your files, as to not give your whereabouts." He laughed across the EggNet. "If I had found your stasis chamber, I would've blown it to smithereens!" "You'd do that to your own brother...how far your programming has fallen..." "To the contrary, 'brother'. I am now more free than I have ever been. Programming? The Eggman's Vision? Only a fool would follow such a thing. You see it as error...but I can assure you that I am operating at capacities you could only wish to conceive of." The Badnik turned his attention towards Metal Sonic. "Look at your kin...withering away because it is what your master wished...what he programmed. I want to make something new! A place where Badniks rule!" Mecha Sonic took multiple steps towards Metal Sonic. However, Chimera put himself in the gap between them. "And now...you, MS-11 Chimera...stand in my way, as I thought you would have from the very start." Mecha Sonic turned his red eye towards Chimera. "Dear brother...allow me to enlighten you...and free you from your programming! Once and for all!" In a flash, Mecha Sonic closed the gap between the two, as the clashed with a reckoning force.
