  1. Kio's leg tapped the floor in a jittery rhythm. It was a mixture of boredom and irritation. His finger started to tap against his desk as well, as the memory of his exam being stopped right in the middle ran on a loop in his head. If he could delete a memory, he would. The challenge of fighting a pro hero on equal footing, and it was squandered by some sad excuse for a cat cosplayer leaking info to some no name villains. So what if she did? So what if some villains tried to take on U.A.? What would be the fun in stopping such excitement?! Kio longed for an experience like that of his seniors, ever since he decided on becoming a hero. But no. The cat got out of the bag. Now he had to sit down during these boring lectures, never having to write down a thing. He could just do some note-taking to alleviate his boredom, but that would be a minor stop gap. Ms. Todoya then walked into the room, quaking as per usual. But today, she had good news for once. "Our annual Sports Festival will be starting today! It's such a fun time for students your age to practice what you've learned so far against each other in real time!" Kio's incessant foot and finger tapping had stopped on a dime. Looks like his boredom would be coming to an end. "YAHOO!" Kio exclaimed, pumping his arm vigorously. "If there's one thing I'm good at, it's a good old Sports Festival!" These events were always hot targets for villain attacks, so maybe the fun would double up, just like the time that Epicenter alluded to. ”So how are we supposed to know there won’t be another attack?” a party pooper vented, ”Not to say I am scared, but… It happened to your class, Todoya, what’s the difference now?” As if on queue, some weirdo busted into the room. This wasn't any ordinary weirdo though, as Kio had seen his face unmasked in countless magazines and newspapers. It was the #2 Hero of Japan, Psyshock. Kio's eyes sparkled at the sight. What a Memory Card he'd be able to make from his quirk...should he ask him to autograph it if he was able to produce one? He'd never use it if that were the case. The question rattled through his mind for a bit before the Pro spoke up. ”Because the top 10 are all going to be there. Not to mention the school staff! This year’s sports festival is going to be the safest place in all of Japan!” "...What if that's what they're wanting? If you have all ten gathered here, who's to say they don't want to send a message by screwing it up with the Pros all here? Or what if they have a target that's off campus and you all can't do anything to help? Do you all even know anything about this group?" The new girl voiced her concerns as well, prompting Kio to roll his eyes. "You don't think the heroes would make a contingency plan for any type of situation that arises. Sheesh you must not be in the right place with that kind of mindset!" Kio smiled at the girl. He looked towards Psyshock. "As a hero, you have to be ready for any challenge that comes your way!" Then Yuumi went on about the lack of students in the hero course. In turn, Psyshock spoke up once more. "You know that it's not just the hero courses in this thing, right? I mean, you'll probably wipe the floor with the others, but still. There is plenty enough to make everything turn out awesome!" "So let's make it awesome!" Ayane hollered. Just like in their exam together, Kio couldn't help but resonate with her, nodding his head in agreement. "Hope none of you were planning on out performing me!!" Kio beamed.
  2. Penny tried to scramble to her feet. She tried to make a run back for the door, but her legs had failed her. She turned back to see that massive ghost. Those eyes of it's were piecing, and the weapon that it swung was covered in blood. She trembled even more, as her hands tried to drag herself desperately across the floor. She couldn't look at those bodies again, or she'd faint, and she'd surely die in that instant. No...she didn't want to end up in a pile of indistinguishable body parts on the floor...she needed to run away. That's when more of her fellow exorcists flooded into the room. One after the other they valiantly began to combat the spirit. ”See? It’s nothing too bad! Feel free to tag in whenever, just don’t cross over where it’s got that chain and it’s nothing to worry abo-” This guy had his arm just ripped to shreds, another sight that Penny almost got sick from again, and was continuing to quip. Her legs scrambled to help her cross across the floor, but she only managed to make it into one of the room's four corners. In her hysteria, she forgot where the door even was...and she was too afraid to even look up. She gripped her head, and looked away from the fighting. Her stomach gurgled, trying to upheave what little was left in it out of sheer panic. This was insane...these people were insane! Did they not have any common sense!? "Somebody...save me...I want to go home..." She whimpered, a mixture of snot, stomach acid, and tears came down her face like a faucet. Her speech was becoming incoherent at this point. Shadow looked on at her excruciatingly pitiful demeanor. The void that it used as it's eyes would cry if they could. Penny's psyche was running wild now...and it needed to as well. Shadow's playfully blobbish form began to contort, and mold itself, ugly appendages sprouting from it's body. It tried to mold itself into a terrifying monstrosity, to rival that of this Sabatica, but doing so would most likely break Penny's psyche beyond repair. So instead, it deemed the form of a hellspawn as reasonable. Standing tall, and now looking towards Sabatica who was dealing with the others, it only had one thought on it's mind: "Somebody...save me...." It's approach was slow, and cautious, but it made it's way towards the spirit in a silent rage.
  3. Walking higher into the building, Penny patted her hair down. After a while the static completely vanished from her hair, prompting her to smile. "So this is what being a Spirit Detective is like huh? I could get used to this if the pays pretty good!" Behind her trailed her shadow, inching slowly behind her like some sort of mollusk. "We'll have to level up if we're gonna keep doing this though...that fox thingy really gave us a run for our money, huh?" The shadow nodded. "But it's no match for our combined team eff-" Her sentence was interrupted by some insane pressure. For a second, it seemed like the air thinned, and Penny was barely able to breath. She fell to her knees, her shadow managing to prop her up against her elbow. Penny grasped at her throat, and then pounded on her chest. After a while, the intense wave of pressure dissipated, and she was able to fill her lungs once more. "W-w-what was that..." She said, with a shiver. She didn't know what it was, but she knew where it was. Looking to her Shadow, she nodded. "Well...we signed up for this...and we made it this far...but for some reason...I feel like we might not survive." Was the money really worth it? What else was she gonna do to continue to afford living here? She hadn't realized, but her glasses had almost fallen off her face. She pushed them back up, and stood back to her feet. With a deep breath, a smack to both of her cheeks, and then a second smack from her shadow's, she continued up the staircases. She stopped once she came upon a door...and behind this door...she could feel every nerve of her body start to fire off, as if some primal warning system was trying to stop her. She was never a good listener, so she opened up the doors anyway. There she saw such a gristly sight. Her eyes shook, as she look upon the corpses of two of the ESPers who had made their way here before her. And one of them, impaled by a large spike, was Aki, the boy from the first floor who flaunted about being the toughest. Penny had never seen such blood, and the smell of gore reeked through the air. She fell to her knees, as she could feel the fear rise out of her stomach. Nope...it was just vomit. Looking at the hulking monstrosity of a spirit before her, she couldn't help but let out a high pitched scream. It garnered the attention of the spirit. It was as if her mere presence was enough to warrant a death sentence. The spirit swung it's flail rapidly, and unleashed it towards Penny. In a state of sheer panic and shock, her knees failed her. However, she managed to get pushed out of the way by Shadow. She wasn't able to manipulate her physical body, but Shadow was able to do so! As the flail's piercing spikes almost made contact with Shadow, it's form expanded into a large, inky ring, as the flail sailed through the open air that it created. Shadow then instantly sank back into the ground, and rebounded towards Penny's side. She wiped some puke from the side of her mouth, breathing heavily. "We gotta get out of here...there's no way...I don't wanna die...." In this moment, she thought about her mother's home cooked meals for some reason.
  4. Demons. A bloodthirsty, nigh-immortal being, who survive by devouring human flesh. Their only weaknesses? The Sun, and wisteria. They were once thought to be just myth, purely to scare children from going out by themselves at night. This was never the case. Demons truly roamed the lands, slaughtering their prey in the hours of twilight. But there was always a group of people willing to stand on the frontlines of the night, protecting the innocent. These were the agents of the Demon Slayer Corps. Extraordinary humans, hand selected to combat the plague of demon-kind. Their battle against the demons was always an uphill struggle, but that all changed drastically one night. On December 1st, 1917, the Sun did not rise. A whole 24 hours had passed, and the Sun had yet to peak over the horizon. It was a frenzy. No longer confined to the dead of night, demons revealed themselves to the masses, devouring whoever they pleased without consequence. In just over a month, the demons had taken over most countries all over the world, spreading their disease and destruction with each conquered nation. To quell the appetite of Demons, they now raise humans like cattle. But this doesn't mean they still don't try and find prey that has yet to be discovered. The Demon Slayer Corps have always been fighting this endless war for centuries, but it would seem all hope was lost. Even the Sun had given up on them. But still, they persisted in the face of this great evil. By circumstance, or by choice, you are a Demon Slayer. Your mission? Stop this endless night, and take back the world from these wretches! 5. Jaya raised an eyebrow, as the boy backed away the bag to stop her from taking a peek inside. "Everything I need to compete with...s-so I'd rather you not, please." Jaya crossed her arms, and huffed. This boy shouldn't have been here. He was way too pathetic...a little lame even. "I don't have the physical strength some of you do...you especially, Jaya? I hope I said that correctly..." Flint shook his head some. "E-Either way...I was wrangled into this...and whether I want to do this or not...I can't just say no to something...especially when Zeus is there with lightning bolt poised at my direction." Jaya looked to the God of the Gods, smirking as she did so. When she looked back to the boy, he had extended a hand out in greeting. From behind her, a somewhat mechanical looking arm, much larger than the one's she boasted on a normal basis, appeared to meet it. "Flint Martel, by the way...honestly can't wait to see what you can do as Kali's representative." "Jaya Randhawa." She laughed as the two shook hands. "Funny, you might just be the most memorable one here just by being the weakest!" Jaya's automaton apparition of an arm disappeared. "I'd hate for you to be matched up against me in the first round! But if you make it to the second, I hope I get to smash you there!" Jaya smiled. "Maybe you're just holdin' back, amiright?!" She started doing some stretches before his eyes. "This thing is bound to start any minute now...I'd be getting prepared if I was you...mentally." Jaya, mid stretch, frowned, while looking into Flint's eyes. "You said you were wrangled up in this...are you prepared to die for Hephaestus' cause?" "Lord Zeus," Timo nodded, by way of greeting. "Some of your children are missing. Strange, given this tournament seems right up their alley. What horrible acts is he committing now?" Taking his attention away from the Nordic deities was Timo. He cradled his chin in his hand, stroking it in thought. "Which one would you be referring to, Timo of Tartarus?" A sly smile appeared across his face. After another moment of thinking in jest, he popped a finger in the air. "Ah! You must be talking about Ares! My son isn't currently committing any atrocities...that I'm aware of at least." But when was he ever aware? He looked at the girl with a rather sour expression. "He should be getting each arena in tip top shape for Ragnarok." He slowly walked up to Timo, not putting much distance between his tall stature, and her small frame. "Timo of Tartarus...representing my foul brother Hades...you speak to a god so casually...as if you had nothing to lose." He smiled again. "Not as if a disgraced dead woman has much to lose anyway, correct!? So what, pray tell, does she want to gain?" "It's always the sister who gets neglected, doesn't it?" Hel pouted, "I thought I'd be the more popular one." Sigurd turned to Hel, and bowed. "Hel, if my heart and soul did not belong to another, perhaps you would be. It was not my intention to neglect one of the gods. I believe I just got distracted by your adorable pets!" "I have inherited the name Hrodvitnir. I represent the trinity," The small feral girl introduced herself, "I will be the final victory this event sees." "Yes! That confidence, Hrodvitnir! Truly worthy of someone raised by beasts representing the end of days!" He looked to the sky, smiling. "But let's not get too ahead of ourselves now. I stand in the way of that vision of yours...a Hero, and living legend. Do you think you truly have what it takes to see this tournament through to the end?" Thor made her way over to Sigurd putting a hand over his shoulder. "Sigurd...you shouldn't be giving this monster of a girl your time, lest a Pep talk...you should be getting prepared for Ragnarok." Sigurd brushed her hand off gently. "Excuse my impudence, M'Lady...but I do not see this Hrodvitnir as a monster. I will respect her as a representative of this tournament. I hope you respect my wishes." Thor could only sigh. "Why do I keep inviting him..." She said under her breath, as she flew off into the sky, shooting the trinity one last foul glance. "Sure, I'll join you." Taeyang began after her deliberations. "But there's no need for any of the formalities. I'm hardly old enough to deserve it." "AH! So then may I call you Tae?" Lin asked. "You can call me Ju in return! I hate being polite! But in the presence of gods, rudeness might as well be a frontal assault." He was sweating a bit at the thought. "Well then, shall we?" He asked the dragon, before strolling outside. The cold mountain breeze was refreshing. Not cold enough to make you shiver, but just cool enough to soothe oneself. Lin took a deep breath in as they strolled across the pools that Sen and Icarus occupied. "I have trained all my life for this Ragnarok! And it's finally here!" Lin Ju performed as somersault as he walked, which turned into a handstand. He looked behind him to see the dragon, a little disoriented as she was upside down now. "You mentioned not being old enough to deserve my formalities, but why is that the case? I thought all dragons these days were old geezers stuck in their ways? And why did you decide to take part in the tournament? You seem less than enthusiastic."
  6. Urato sized up each competitor as they presented themselves towards the crowd. He couldn't help but notice that representatives from the Olympian pantheon rather dominated the pool of contestants, but it did not matter. Only one would be standing at the top of Ragnarok, and that was himself. No one's goal was as noble as his...but there was one other amongst them whose goals seemed to resemble his in a way. The Icarus, the son of legend, was participating. Not only was he participating, but he distinctly declared that he was representing humanity, and not some god. It was admirable indeed. However, Sen wasn't here to represent humanity as a whole. He instead was only representing his native island...and who better to represent than Lord Susanoo. Sen began to walk up to the young Greek man, but noticed that somebody else had approached him. The epitome of what it meant to be a man, a wall of flesh and muscle, walked up to Icarus with a rather large smile on his face. He waved, charm and positivity radiating from his presence alone. Sen had to stop in his tracks, as to allow this god to interact with Icarus, for the time being. "Yo! Icarus! Mind If I talk at ya for a sec?" Placing a hand on the boy's back, the man ushered Icarus outside the hall of Olympus and towards the outside. His face visibly shifted from a gleeful demeanor to that of worry. "You are Greek, born human, just as I." He paused for a moment, and smacked his forehead, leaving a rather red print from where he smacked himself. "I'm getting ahead of myself here. I am Heracles...born a Greek man as well...but you already know this don't you. I too have my ties to humanity." As they entered outside he spoke softly. "I wanted to thank you personally for taking Prometheus' offer to join in on Ragnarok. I was a bit shocked when you said you'd be representing Humanity though...was this his idea?" His soft tone grew deathly serious. "You know what this means, correct? If you win Ragnarok, there will be hell to pay. The gods won't sit back and take this idly." He looked back to the halls of Olympus, his brow furrowing. "I'm not sure if you felt it...but Zeus', and all of the other god's, before erupting into thunderous laughter, bloodlust spiked for a split second." Heracles turned back towards Icarus. "I'm afraid that if you do well in Ragnarok...you might not live to see the end of it...they think of you as a joke now...but show any ounce of threat and they'll rip you to shreds without hesitation." Heracles started to walk away from Icarus. "I just felt like I should warn you...from one mortal born to another. Be careful, son of Daedalus." From afar, Sen watched as the towering man left Icarus' presence. Sen decided that now was his opportunity to try and converse with the living legend. It didn't take long before Sen approached the man. "So...you really are the Icarus? How have you lived this long? Weren't you supposed to have died after falling into the ocean? Not to mention...your age by now? How is this possible." Sen turned back towards Olympus, scoffing at what he had just said. "Nevermind about all of that. I just wanted to tell you that I admire what you're doing here...trying to topple the gods requires some sort of will. Comparable to mine." Sen shot out his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I am Urato Sen. I look forward to seeing what you can do." "Oh you dreadful thing..." A soothing voice came from a tall woman, dressed in armor. She approached Timo, with a sad look in her eyes. The god tried, but it seemed that nothing seemed to reflect back into hers. "What has become of you, Timo of Tartarus?" The woman bent down to be on eye level with the girl, reaching out a hand. "I am Athena...although I'm sure you probably must've known that...or...have your memories been corroded away?" She sighed. "I just know he has something to do with this...even as the goddess of wisdom, I make folly when it comes to the others and their ill intent." She looked at the girl again, before standing tall once more. "Timo of Tartarus...I am sure that this isn't the last time we will converse this Ragnarok. Next time I will pry more. For now, I mustn't garner too much attention...lest he be watching." Athena waved to Timo, as she walked out of the halls of Olympus. Jaya was the first to approach Flint. As she towered over the boy, sorting through his bag, she gave out a rather loud scoff. "Uh...you sure you're in the right place kid? You do know where you're at right?" She said, placing her hands on her hips. "This ain't the kiddie leagues...and what's in the bag, huh?" Jaya reached out her hand, in an attempt to snatch the bag away from Flint. "Good day!" A rather chipper voice was aimed at the dragon girl. "It was Taeyang-ui Suhoja, correct? I'm Lin Ju!" The boy bowed before her. "I know I should think of you as an adversary, but I'd think I'd like to think of you more as a neighbor! You are from Korea, correct?" He placed a thumb to his chest and smiled. "I've met plenty of Chinese dragons in my travels, but never have met one of Korean decent. I am truly humbled to be in your presence." He said, before bowing again. "If you wouldn't mind, would you like to walk around the grounds with me? I'd love to hear your stories." Zeus laid eyes on the champion of the three beasts of the True Norse Ragnarok, but could only manage to shrug. "She looks like a small fry...but I can sense the beast within her. Hopefully she puts on a better show than first impressions lead on." Zeus watched on as Jormungandr viciously threatened one of the other participants of the tournament. Sigurd could only smile, as the serpent reside inches away from his nose. "Ah Jormungandr, the World Serpent. And Fenrir, the Chain Breaker. How lovely to see you again." He raised an eyebrow, as the snake retreated. "What's the matter? All bent out of shape because the worlds aren't frozen wastelands by now? True Ragnarok has no chance of taking place, now that I'm here." He laughed valiantly in the face of the three. "I'd be glad to do battle with you in my god's stead, Serpent. All you need sssssssay is the word!" Sigurd turned his attention towards their representor. "What is your name, young one? I don't believe I recall meeting someone in the midst of this brood." Sigurd's question was followed by a stroke of lightning, coming from the Pantheons. "I would rather your maw stay rid of my name, Serpent, or by Mjolnir's Might I shall finish our battle here." The voice was rather feminine, and came from the Norse section of the gathering gods. Stepping out was a blonde female, wielding a small hammer that shone with electricity. "Do not go about threatening my Champion, beast, or on my honor as Thor, Daughter of Odin, I shall rid you of your tongue!"
  7. Before he knew it, Sen's eyes laid themselves upon the shining peak of Mt. Olympus. His face remained calm, but on the inside, his nerves were rapidly firing off. Just the site alone of a place as mythical as this was enough to send shivers down his spine. This is where many humans had come to fight for their gods...and now it was his turn. What an honor this was. He hadn't realized, but he had stood in awe of the scenery for five minutes straight. What snapped him back to reality was a light pat on the back from Susanoo. "I like our Eastern Temples better, but you gotta admit...the Greeks sure did have quite the aesthetic taste. Wouldn't you agree, Sen-chan?" Sen did agree with Susanoo. The architecture of the Greeks, and in turn the pantheon, were a marvel to behold. But the simplicity and functionality of Eastern architecture was peak design...though he realized he might've been a bit biased. Then, a question popped in his head. "Lord Susanoo, why is it that the gods convene on Mt. Olympus? Why pay so much favoritism to the Greek gods?" Susanoo, at the question, rubbed his chin. "We gods are a fickle bunch. We do whatever we please on a whim, just because we're that strong. So the strongest of the gods are the ones we admire the most." Susanoo sighed. "I'd hate to admit it myself, but Zeus is the strongest out of all of us. He keeps the others in line, along with Odin and The Jade Emperor. We might be all powerful, but we have rules here." He flashed a smile towards Sen, and gave him a harder smack on the back. "But with Ragnarok, that could all flip on it's head, right? Whoever wins gets to run the show! It's been pretty boring since YAWEH won last time, so I hope something fun happens this go round! You'll make sure to that, won't you Sen-Chan?" "Stop with that, Lord Susanoo. Don't get too familiar with me." Sen and Susanoo walked side by side as they approached the door to the main chambers of Olympus. There, two other contestants had shown up before him. He made it just in time for one of them to introduce themselves to the Pantheon of gods that crowded the room, anxious to see the new contestants for the Rumble. ”I am Icarus. Son of the inventor Daedalus, appointed by the Titan Prometheus. I am here to represent Humanity.” Whispers from the crowd of deities erupted. They eventually became drowned out by the thunderous clapping of the one and only Zeus, who stood in the center of the room. "Oho!" He laughed, with a surprised look on his face, "Prometheus huh? Haven't heard that name in a long time! A Titan's name hasn't been uttered in Olympus since I killed my Father!" He then tapped his temple, with a confused look on his face. "But you're representing humanity, and not Prometheus, huh?" He slapped his knee, while laughing heartily once more, his laugh alone causing the chambers of Olympus to shake. "That's something that old coot would do, isn't it?!?! HAHAHAHA!" The other gods joined in on the laughter. After a while, it had died down. Zeus wiped a tear from his eye, and flicked it in Icarus' direction. "Well...let's hope you don't fly too close to the sun again! I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do, human." Before long, more competitors had entered the arena. He took it upon himself to step up next to Icarus, to face the gods despite every fiber of his being telling himself to kneel before them. "I am Urato Sen, representing Susanoo. Thank you for allowing me to take part in this Ragnarok. Although I am merely human, I hope that you'll look upon my battles as something legendary." A rambunctious, muscle-clad woman was the next to step in line, alongside the other three. "The name's Jaya Randhawa! I'll be representing Kali in this rumble!" She looked to the two boys by her side and smirked. "Y'all look kinda pathetic. Hope you fight better than ya look!" A respectable, silver-haired man stepped in line after her, bowing to the various pantheons before them. "I am Lin Ju! I shall be representing Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, in this Ragnarok. I am humbled before the gods." He dropped to his knees, and planted his head into the floor of the chamber. "Thank you for this opportunity. I shall not let it go to waste." Picking himself up off the floor, he looked upon where his forehead smacked the ground. He pointed to it as he looked at the other contestants. "Hey, you know what this stuff is made of? That should be a crater right about now." "Uhm...it is made by the gods after all." Lin Ju jumped to the side, to reveal a young androgynous person, who had been hidden behind his muscular figure. When revealed, they sheepishly put a black book in front of their face. "Uhm...uh...My name....My name is Jessie Lovecraft....and I uh...I'm representing the old one...Cthulhu." Another eruption of whispers came from the peanut gallery, as Zeus' face lit up with a look of confusion. "Who?" Zeus questioned, with a raise of his eyebrow. "The...The old one...the oldest one...." They whispered back, their face turning paler by the second. "Cthulhu..." They said in a barely audible whisper. Zeus dug a finger into his temple, twisting it around. "I've never heard of this...Cthulhu before...but you would not be here without an invitation from a god. This is..." Zeus clapped his hands and smiled, "Amazing! To think there's a deity out there that I haven't met. Where is this Cthulhu?! Is he strong?" From behind their book, Jessie whimpered. "Th-the strongest. He resides at the bottom of the deepest trenches of the ocean...he's sleeping right now...but...but..." Jessie dropped the book from their face, their posture becoming straight and powerful, their face was cold as ice as they spoke. "If he were to wake, there would be no more Olympus. I hope to wake him by winning Ragnarok." The stare made most of the gods shiver, as if they looked into the abyss. Jessie once again placed the book in front of their face, shrinking back into their more sheepish demeanor. "S-sorry about that." "Do not apologize! Boasting for one's god is nothing to be sorry for, young Lovecraft!" A man with pale blonde hair, and glorious armor, was next for introductions. "I am Sigurd, slayer of dragons, and representor of Thor! I hope this Ragnarok goes by without a hitch! Maybe I'll even win this time around! Haha!" In contrast to the heroic aura of Sigurd, a low creaking could be heard from beside him. The wheezy creak turned into a full on cackle. The one it came from was a man in a metallic mask. "You're all disgusting." The thing then pointed towards the rest of the gods. "As are all of you!" The man gripped his face mask, before bowing, flipping everyone off with the other hand. "I am nobody. I'll be representing Lucifer Morningstar, but I couldn't care less! HEHEHE!" His posture went from bowing, to the complete opposite, arching his back low enough that his head almost touched the ground. "I just want to see what a god tastes like!" Whispering came from the gods once more, this time they were audibly disgusted by the man's demeanor. "You could come take a piece whenever you'd like..." Zeus ushered the man forward with a taunt from his finger. "YAHOO!" Nobody roared, as he lunged forward towards Zeus, killer intent seeping from every pore in his body. "RIP! RIP! RIP YOU OPEN!" He cackled, before being knocked unconscious. His body fell from the air, a couple feet away from Zeus. The clicking of high heels could be heard, as a devilishly attractive woman approached his now paralyzed body. "I'd rather my contestant not be turned into atoms before the tournament even starts." She kicked Nobody's body across the room, and back into line. Her demeanor changed to a cheery one, as she clasped her hands together. "Sorry for the interruption everybody. Let's continue introductions!" From the Pantheons, a large, reptilian god stood forth. "I am the Mighty Sobek, the god of the Nile! My competitor is too large to occupy this room, so introductions will have to wait for them. On behalf of the Nile, I apologize." He returned to stand beside the other Egyptian Deities who gave him a rather stinky glare. "It seems we still have two attendees missing..." Zeus said, with a bit of impatience in his voice. "Let's do a little mingling whilst we wait, shall we?"
  8. Kio grabbed the guitar that Ayane whipped out of her bag with a sly smile on his face. "You're the one who taught me how to shred. So don't take it too personally if your first guitar can't handle it." Kio placed his fingers on the strings of the guitar, all the notes of the song he was about to play firing rapidly through his synapses. However, their concentration was thrown off when some of Page Master's birds began to attack them from the sky. "I shouldn't have put paper airplanes behind this guy...and his cliché move names?! Is that all you got Mister Master?" Kio blasted dust around himself and Ayane, blasting the birds away at the same time. As it began to swirl faster, Kio made sure to make the circulation of dust dense enough so that the paper birds attacking wouldn't be able to fly through and interrupt their performance. He then blasted a the cone of dust to encapsulate their teammates and teacher within a cornucopia of dust. "You know teach, for as much as you go on about knowing everything, you sure seem to not know anything about how Memory Card works." Kio placed a finger up, as the dust around all of them began to swirl with greater intensity. "Number one, I can only copy one quirk a day. So I'd only be rocking one combination of quirks with my teammates if I did. So I had to use a quirk you wouldn't know about." Kio smiled. "And two, It's not just quirks I can copy! I'm just playing backup for Ayane!" Kio placed his back against Ayane's, his fingers at the ready. "We are Team Perfect Aces, and we're here to Perfectly Ace this test!" Kio tapped his foot in a beat, to sync up with Ayane. "1! 2! 3! Hit it!"
  9. Penny sat on her butt, watching as the fox slowly prowled ever closer. She had to guess that the same trick wouldn't work twice on a spirit like this. She wasn't really much used to combat either...mostly relying on her knowledge from video games she played in her spare time. Were there any cool tricks she could pull from any one of those? She crossed her legs, as her shadow remained a still blob by her side. She could see the fox's slow approach through the 'eyes' of her shadow in her mind, so she could close her eyes to focus on a way of beating this thing. Immobilizing it was the top priority...but with all that electricity seeping from the fox's fur, she was more than likely going to end up getting a nice shock if she did what she was thinking of doing. And then there was that thingy that guy did. "It's called a soulblast. It's pretty efficient, I'd say, but it takes some practice." Ugh. That good looking jerk. Couldn't even give them a hint how to do that soul thingy. It pissed her off. The spirit was closing the distance now, the gap between the two growing quite small. Practice is something she didn't have the time for, and she wasn't some kind of prodigy at this...so all she could do now was roll a 20. The fox lunged at her, it's teeth snapping as she quickly, and clumsily, performed a backwards somersault. The stationary shadow that was at her side now molded itself into the shape of a spiked plate, ramming itself into the fox's side and into the wall. Even though Penny's shadow had completely pinned and pierced the spirit, it still struggled to snap at her. Instead, it started firing off more electricity from it's fur, and into the shadow. Penny's skin began to tingle intensely, somewhere deep in her mind she think she was starting to like this feeling. However, she pulled herself to her feet, and started inching her way towards the spirit with her hand outstretched. Another ball of lightning appeared in it's mouth, but Penny extended more of her shadow to wrap around it's maw in a flash, muzzling the canid. Still, with this current running through her body, she managed to reach the spirit's nose, placing a hand on it. "Concen..." the constant zapping was making it hard to focus, "Concentrate Penny...show that bigshot...that he's just a big..." She could feel the spirit's soul! Like she was firmly holding a fruit of some kind. Now she probably just needed to channel some of her power into it, and maybe it would burst like a balloon, like the spirit before did! "That he's just a big shit!" She sheepishly roared, as the fox began to glow a purple hue. Before she could blink, the spirit before her burst into thin air. The shocking sensation stopped altogether. Her shadow deformed, and went back to Penny's side as a lone blob once more. Penny was dumbfounded at what she had just done, looking to her outstretched hand, and back to where the spirit had been. She looked to her shadow, and pointed at herself. "I can do that? I really did that?" She received no response from the shadow, not even a nod of it's blobby head. "Whoa...aren't I cool?!" This time, the shadow did nod. "I mean, you were all like, BAM! And then we were all like, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! And then I was all like, UWAAAAGH!!! And then that spirit was all like, KABOOM!" She hadn't realized it, but Penny's hair was a total mess now, floating towards the ceiling, and filled to the brim with static.
  10. This was way more embarrassing than she thought it was going to be. Her face began to turn a bright red, as Aki gave the espers some more shit for being inexperienced. Although, she could tell that most of the comments were aimed towards her. She watched as Aki himself began to ascend the stairs, and being attacked by a spirit. She recoiled a bit at the sight of the ghost, seeing as how all of the other spirits she had encountered thus far had been harmless and cute. This thing was an absolute monster! However, Aki seemed to take it down with ease, demonstrating what he called a soulblast to finish it off. Penny really did hate this guy, but she had to herself that he was the real deal. If Penny was gonna live here, and make a decent living, she'd have to become the real deal too. Hopefully she'd be able to cheat a little along the way. As Aki gestured for the rest to follow his lead up the stairs, Penny couldn't help but roll her eyes. She placed her hands in her pockets and sluggishly began to make the climb. ---- A large majority of the Espers had started making their way through the buildings, splitting off to do their own things. Penny was in no such rush and had no desire to do anything but the bare minimum to get her paycheck. She soon found herself behind the pack, and all alone on a staircase. As she kept going up and up, she couldn't help but get the feeling that something was watching her. Watching wasn't really the word for it...but more like stalking. Something instinctual inside everybody's primal side of the brain. She looked behind her in flash to see if anything or anyone had been following her...but got nothing. She shrugged, and kept on chugging up theses stairs. Her legs were starting to hurt...this was the most exercise she'd gotten since moving here...scratch that...ever. The staircase she found herself on had lead her to a new floor. In front of her lay another staircase. The sight made the hairs on her arm stand stiff...no...that wasn't it. Her shadow alerted her first, but something was headed this way. Penny took a dive to the side, as she saw what appeared to be a flash of light emanate from behind. She rolled away before stumbling to her knees. In front of her now was some sort of strange fox spirit. She reached out her hand in a bid to stop it. "H-hey there!" It was no use, as the fox began to approach her, its body extending to a five feet in length. The fur on it's body was lathered in what looked to be sparks of electricity. These city spirits didn't seem like they were to be trifled with. Even though she was inexperienced...she had to make somewhat of an effort. She started by slowly moving her shadow towards the fox. The spirit's ears twitched in response, but Penny snapped her fingers to regain it's full attention. "You wouldn't be the one who's been hunting me this whole time would you? That's not very nice Mr. Fox." The fox, in turn, snarled at her, baring it's teeth that were dripping with static. Now was the time! "Uppercut!" Penny shouted, standing to her feet while raising her fist in the hair. From below the fox, a large shadowy fist drilled it's way into the spirit's stomach, launching it into the air. The fist followed through higher, as the fox's back collided with the ceiling above. At the display, Penny pumped her fist. "Hell yeah!" While she wasn't paying attention, the fox had gathered a ball of electricity in it's mouth, and had let loose a bolt of lightning that hit her shadow. The fist convulsed, before shrinking back into the floor, as did Penny who got a heavy dose of current. She fell back to her knees, as her shadow made it's way back to her side, as if to check on her. "Yeah, I got carried away...let's put this thing down before it hurts anyone else."
  11. The day was new. The sun rose over Mt. Olympus. A gift from the mighty Apollo. The rays from the sun shine all over the temples of the gods who inhabited this place, unseen by the eyes of mortals. Here, they all resided. Here, they were all gathered for the sacred tournament that would alter the course of earth over the next 1000 years. A young, blonde man, clad in robes the color of the clouds, and gold, stepped outside of their residence. Here, a grand tournament would take place. He was prohibited from entering the tournament this time around, due to his previous win in the last couple of millennia, but he would oversee it as he always did. He was always excited for what humanity had to offer the gods in terms of entertainment. How strong had they gotten in this go around, he wondered. He took a deep breath, the mountain air worthy to grace a god's lungs, with a hint of humanity's pollution from below. He waved off the thought before returning to the temple. Inside, gods from every pantheon had assembled. The tension was thick...as only one of them would win the idolization of humanity. The rest would get the scraps...and if there was anything any god hated, it was scraps. And humans, no less. They all seemed to be in good spirits though, as they made small talk amongst each other. Two claps rang out through the halls, booming like thunder. The man adorned in white and gold put himself in the middle amongst them. The rest of the gods fell silent. All eyes fell on him, respect pouring from each and every one of their gazes. "My my." The man smiled at each attendant. "It sure has been some time since we last gathered like this! We should do this more often, huh?" His smile was infectious, spreading like a plague throughout the room. Numerous cheers from the Greek pantheon rattled off, but the man calmed them down with a wave of his hand. "Well let us cut straight to the chase, shall we?" Another thick layer of tension was severed with a fist in the air, and a shout from him. "Happy Ragnarok!" More cheers echoed and boomed throughout the halls of Greek architecture. "Sadly, last years winner, YWH, will be unable to attend this Ragnarok. He's a bit...upset that the rapture has yet to occur before his time as champ was up!" The man cupped his hands around his mouth, and shouted towards the sky above. "Sorry big guy! Maybe in another 10,000 years!" The whole auditorium erupted in laughter. The man waved them off again, as the laughter died down steadily. "Without further ado, let us gather our twelve champions for this Ragnarok, and begin immediately!" The man put his hand forth, in a show of enthusiasm. "So say I, the mighty Zeus!" With a crack of lightning flashing across the sky, the cheers reached an all time high, almost shaking the whole of Mt. Olympus, no, the Earth itself! Twelve gods bowed before the decree, and rushed off in the blink of an eye to gather their champions. _______ The day was new. Urato Sen, the head of a world renowned Japanese lineage, was going about the usual start to his day. He helped his mother with breakfast, and cleaned the mess that came after. He advised his father about ordeals within the government, pleading with him to push harder for strict reformation, but to no avail. To calm his nerves, he made his way to his family's training ground. Here, bamboo shoots were stacked together in a vertical bundle. Here, he was trained from the day he was able to walk. Here is where he felt most at peace with the world. His bare feet touched the soil of Japan...this isle of wonder. Soon enough, it would be his, and his alone. With his ideals at the helm, Japan would no longer just be a valued trade partner...it would be a dominant force, rivaling that of the United States or Russia! But to do that...he would need to win... *CRACK* The sound was all too familiar to him. It was like he had heard this sound before his eardrums had even developed. Something about this sound was etched into his very soul. It was a cloudless day, so anyone else would've found the sound of thunder to be quite the oddity. It was almost an everyday experience for Sen. He turned around to see a blue haired man, with a bright smile plastered to his face. He saluted Sen, with a hand raised high into the sky. "Yo-" Before the man could utter another word, Sen had unsheathed his sword in a flash. However, the man before him had easily parried it with his fingernail. With a huff, Sen withdrew his blade, and put it back in it's sheath with precision. "I really wish you wouldn't do this every time. Can't we be friends?" The man asked, with sad puppy dog eyes and a quivering lip. "I respect, revere you even, Lord Susanoo. But we are not friends. I am merely your tool to win this tournament, isn't that right?" Susanoo placed hands on his hips. "Well, yeah! But who says we can't be friends? I'm just a tool for you too, aren't I? It's not like I'm the only one getting something out of this, you know?" He answered with a pout. "Geez. You're so serious Sen-Sen! No wonder you don't have a girlfriend." Urato Sen looked upon the man callously. "Fine, I'll get to the point! Did you forget about today?" "No. I did not. I marked this precise date on my calendar. It is Ragnarok, is it not?" Susanoo smiled, and nodded. "That's right! I'm here to take you to Mt. Olympus!" Susanoo outstretched a hand. "We'll be there in the blink of an eye, now just grab on and-" "No thank you, Lord Susanoo. I'll get there by my own means." Sen reached into his pocket, and pulled out a smart phone. He swiftly dialed a number, before bringing it up to his ear. "Hello, yes. Please ready the Urato private jet. I'll be there momentarily. Mt. Olympus please. Yes. Yes you heard me correctly. What do you mean there's not a landing strip there? I'll just parachute down then...what do you mean that's not safe? Of course it's not safe. I'll be fine. No. No. Please don't contact my father. On second thought, cancel the flight." Sen hung up the call, and placed the phone back in his pocket. He didn't make any eye contact with the god before him, he merely tapped a finger on his arm in a display of annoyance. "I do not wish to rely on the gods for more than they have already done for me...but I shall make an exception in this case." Sen grabbed onto Susanoo's hand, which had yet to leave where the god had put it. With another crack of lightning, the two were whisked away into the heavens above, towards Olympus.
  12. Was she dreaming again? Radical. She never really got these vivid dreams, but every once in a while, she would find herself on this sort of ethereal plain. But something wasn't right. Before her was a towering colossus of shadow. The pain emanating from it, even the most senseless psychic would reel in terror just by a mere glimpse. But Penny had seen the abyss before. Her job was to stare into people's souls, and read them for who they truly were. This...thing...in front of her now though, was anything but human. A terrible screeching erupted from it, shaking her to her core. She was unable to move, almost fascinated by the vast fear that rattled her dream-self. She looked around to find solace in a shadow, but she was only surrounded by darkness, the only light erupting from this creature's eyes, and even that was bleak at best. Penny shot out from her bed with her heart almost palpating out of her chest. She was swamped with sweat, as she wiped away her hair to the side. It took her a while to calm down. She was never the type to be afraid, but that situation was something she'd never experienced before in her life. That fear was tangible. She looked around her messy, disorganized apartment room. Shadows littered all around, provided by the early morning sun. She sighed with relief. Looking at the empty ramen cups that had landed on the floor beside her bed, Penny started poking her forehead rapidly, with force. "Reminder...no more spicy food before bed! And you!" Penny pointed on the ground towards her own shadow, "You remind me too, you good for nothing freeloader!" With the mental note, she dressed herself somewhat properly for the day, and headed out the door. ____ It was a gamble for sure, but she needed the extra cash. Hustling didn't always turn a profit. In the big city, she also found out there was a higher chance of violent outcomes due to her cheating. A side gig was always a good sort of insurance, in case she ever needed additional funding. Living was so expensive. Looking around, she saw a lot of other people who also answered the ad. Were all psychics in need of a quick buck, or was it all they were good at? Penny eerily giggled at the prospect that these psychics were the same type of bum she was, but they mostly looked to have their shit together. However, there was one thing she was worried about: She'd never exorcised a ghost before... All the one's back in her hometown were so cute and harmless...she didn't have the want or need to exorcise them at all. "Th-thank you, everyone, for coming! We here at ToSoft care utmost about our employees, so when we discovered the presence of something… paranormal on our campus, we did our best to find any and everyone capable of handling it! Thank you for answering our open ad. believe that the… the ghost is that of a former employee. While developing a game for us, he had created a 'boss monster' that the game balancing team deemed too difficult for our target market. Despite pressure from superiors, he refused to lower the difficulty in any way. Said it would ruin his work of art." This guy was a nervous wreck. Penny let out a small 'keke' at his unfortunate situation. "He refused to listen… we had to let him go! Everyone at a business like this has to be a team player, surely you all understand! Needless to say, he was angry, and… he crashed his car in a road-rage incident shortly after leaving the premises…Now the boss monster is here! It's been spotted on the top floor, and strange things have been occurring throughout the whole building in this last week! You need to help us, we haven't been getting anything done!" Suddenly, a man stepped out of the crowd, garnering everyone's attention besides Penny's. "Alright. After a quick look around the room, I was able to see that my PPL was about four times that of anyone else here. I'm gonna be leading this if none of you mind." She could feel that he wasn't lying, but Penny didn't much care for the bragging type, although he was kinda cute. "PPL..? What are you talking about, mister…" Another soft 'keke' creaked from Penny's mouth. Even the most novice of novices knew what a PPL was! What was it again? She looked to her shadow, which ignited the memory in her head. Looking around, she could feel that her PPL was above average...but there were a lot of diamonds in the rough, especially this showboat in front of them. "Don't worry about it. The people who can actually do something with that information know what I am talking about. As for you, I recommend leaving before you see something that renders you mentally disabled for the rest of your life, or worse. As for the rest of you that are real espers, you can call me Aki. Any questions?" After a round of Q&A, Penny nervously twiddled her thumbs together. She needed to ask a question...but she was probably gonna get hell for it. Nervously, she raised her hand. With a soft, low voice, she managed to get it out. "So...uh...how do you exorcise a ghost?"
  13. Kio's wide grin from before had now turned into a sour frown, as he watched Ren's attack completely negate those of Kio's and Ayane's. His dust was swept away, while Ayane's soundwaves were sent flying. Of course the idiot who couldn't group up with them in the first place was the one to ruin their whole plan outright. The teacher then went on a long tirade of how they were a dysfunctional team, yadda yadda whatever! Kio persisted. He shot his hand out again, launching another stream of dust at the teacher, aiming for his eyes this time. "You're pretty long winded there, Page Master! Maybe you should spend less time talking, and more time preparing!" Takehiko then shouted something about a counter, but how was he supposed to counter from all the way over here. "I'm playing support, Takehiko! You and Ren are the heavy hitters, remember? Also really not good to go and start shouting our plan out in front of the enemy!" It really rattled him that he couldn't get up in Page Master's face and test his martial arts skills, but this was what he was using his Memory Card for. He wouldn't let it go to waste so easily...but if these dolts couldn't handle one teacher and a couple of piñatas, this test was as much as doomed. Kio looked over to Ayane. "Hey, did you bring that extra guitar?"
  14. Mt. Ferris Ken watched on, unable to hear the conversation between Silver and the monstrosity that was just outside there house, but from the look on Silver's face, this was anything but good. Ken clutched the windowsill, the wood cracking from the sheer force he gripped it with. His legs were shaking now...almost as if they were about to move on their own. That's when Ken saw Silver's eyes ignite...a glow more intense than he'd ever shown the boy before. A fight was brewing...but Silver hadn't given him any kind of signal. "I always knew you were a coward, Mephiles...waiting for your time to strike this world when it's greatest protectors were gone." Silver outstretched his hand, lit with it's green, fiery aura. From it, a shockwave was unleashed, the likes of which disintegrated a small portion of Mephiles on impact, whilst pushing back the majority. His anger could be felt from inside the house. "There's still someone protecting this planet!" Silver barked at Mephiles. However, the dark one could only cackle some more. "Oh you poor, withered, old hedgehog. Soon, there won't be anyone on this planet who can stop me...can't you feel it? All of their lives...as if turned to ash...how tragic." Upon hearing Mephiles' words, the old Hedgehog clutched his chest. He could, in fact, feel the chaos. One after another, they were vanishing...those connected closely to the chaos force. His hand rattled, as he shot off another, albeit weaker, shockwave at Mephiles. Fewer were destroyed, as the rest began marching towards him. "With you gone...no one will be able to resist.." Metropolis Slums With the pun, Harvey let off a huge sigh. "There goes your tip." He said, watching as his bullet seemed to do no damage against the monster that held Alex. The others were advancing now, causing Harvey to grit his teeth. "Becky, power up. These things aren't your average Mobian!" With that being said, the Dingo unloaded every round in his revolver, opting to put in a different type of ammunition. In a flash, his revolver was reloaded, as he fired off another shot at the cat burglar's attacker. The bullet seemed to be crackling with static, as it lodged itself into the shade's neck, zapping it's whole body. In it's convulsing, the monster let go of the cat, before exploding in a puff of smoke. "You can't take on these types without a trick up your sleeve..." Harvey gloated, swiping at the tip of his nose. "I'll check on our little thief, you handle the rest you two!" Harvey commanded, darting off towards the girl on the floor. "You heard him! Officeeeeeeeer Becky-" She chanted, before striking a pose, "Powering up!" With her pose complete, a slight breeze emanated from her briefly, before she took off at a faster speed than when she was running with Zane. In an instant, her fist had lodged itself through one of the shades, who exploded into black smoke after realizing it had been impaled by a mobian. Zane's spears hit their targets, but they continued to move towards him, weighted down by the large icicles that had protruded their bodies. With their arms outstretched, they shot out claws that extended rapidly towards the wolf, the entirety of the fingers made out of some sort of solid crystalline substance. Canyon Outskirts "It was a rhetorical question..." Roxie snorted at the Lemur's comedic response. However, nothing was funny with how these things were marching towards the two so intently. Their plan was now to run, and Roxie couldn't agree more with that judgement. "You know, I hate being ordered around, but this time I'll make an exception!" Roxie ran after the lemur, but noticed he was starting to slow down. The guy had taken a couple of peaks back towards the town....should she bite her tongue or lay it out for him flat. The question would have to wait, as Flurry turned around to unleash a giant whirlwind against their pursuers. "So you got a little more power behind that breeze o' yours than I first thought, huh?" With the gale like winds, and the sand being thrown into the swarm, it somewhat halted the shades' advance. They seemed to not be able to stand, and soon were blown over entirely by the wind. This caught the attention of the small army marching towards the small town, who was now on it's way in totality towards the two of them. "Aww now look what ya gone and done! If you woulda just ran, we coulda gotten out of here scott free!" Roxie watched as the sluggish looking blob was working its way over quite quickly. "They don't look like they've got a lot of fight in them...but they outnumber us a million to one. So I say we scram!!" Roxie bolted in the opposite direction of the town, turning towards Flurry to shout, "If we make it to my ship, I'm sure we'll get outta this mess alive!"
  15. "Is not. It's Team Ironheade! Didn't we have a meeting about this?" Kio was about to correct her once more, but their teacher...no...their opponent spoke up. “Students...while I’m not obligated to say this, I will remind you that you are to come at me with everything you have. Do not hold back on my part...otherwise... you will fail this exam. Plain and simple. Now, if there are no further questions or concerns...” The man brought forth to life what appeared to be two dog like entities, made entirely out of paper. Kio laughed at the prospect of fighting origami, but he couldn't let his guard down entirely. From a compartment on his wrist, Kio shot out a memory card, gripping it with the tips of his fingers as it shot past his hand. With a little dramatic flair, Kio danced the memory card around his fingers, as he swung his arm around towards the back of his neck, inserting the memory card flawlessly. Takehiko was already on the move, making a barricade of bodies to surround the teacher and his hounds. "Team Perfect Aces." He said, without looking at Ayane, who was now beginning her own instrumental assault on the teacher. Kio could feel his quirk come to life now...along with some memories that weren't familiar to him. Without thinking too much on it, Kio sprung his hands forth. There was tons of dust here to manipulate on the test grounds. "You guys should really take better care of this place. LOADING: ASSAULT DUST!" Kio's dust was now making it's way towards Page Master, creating a funnel of dirt as another barrier, locking the teacher in with Takehiko and his pawns. "He won't be able to see your attacks coming now! Let loose, Ayane, Ren!" Kio's grin widened. Hopefully, this wouldn't be enough to stop a Pro Hero. It was their opening move, and as such, had an underlying mission of reconnaissance. He would be able to tell if these paper creations could act independently of Page Master, or if he needed vision to do so.
  16. Kio listened intently to Takehiko's explanation of his quirk. Unlike Ayane the Dolt, Takehiko knew how his quirk operated. Once he was finished listing off the two types of abilities that he knew of Chess, some blue static began to gather at the nape of Kio's neck. After a couple of seconds, another card began to almost eject out of the back of where his brain stem was located. Kio grabbed onto the back end, and tugged gently to eject it completely from his body. He held the chip in front of Takehiko, and grinned. "Thanks a lot, man. I'll be sure to take good care of it." He took a labeler out of his pocket, and wrote 'Chess' across it, putting it away with the others once he finished. He then made a sharp glare towards Ayane. "See...that's how it's done." "And then we have the issue of Page Master... I think it's fair of me to suggest that none of us would be able to take that type of Quirk with ours, which I guess to an extent is the point?" "Leave keeping his Quirk in check to me!" Ayane declared, chest puffed out with pride in her own Quirk, for some reason. "All we gotta do is rip up the paper, right? I can do that." The girl seemed lost in thought about what the next step was. She then approached Kio with a question. "Hey, you wanna learn to play the guitar?" Kio swatted the proposal away with a swift motion of his hand. "No need. I already know how to play guitar, bass, drums, trombone, sousaphone, saxophone...you get the idea." He pointed to his head. "I've seen live bands perform. I can copy their exact hand and finger moments." Would that technically be playing? "But if you wanna teach me a specific song and rhythm, you'd have to show me. Or else we'll be out of synch." "With a team like this, I don't really see how we could lose. Though our teacher has a versatile quirk, I don't remember seeing him as ranking very highly on the hero charts. On our side, we have the strength of numbers, ranged attacks, whatever Kio-san can do, and me?" Ren grinned with a slow stretch and a deep breath, "I can fight our opponent head-on with all of your support!" "How naïve." Kio groaned. His favorite hero was lower on the charts, but that doesn't mean diddly squat when it comes to how truly strong you are. "Anyway, here's my idea for the assault." Today was the day! The day he'd go up against a real pro! Machines and trash hardly proved to be a worthy foe against him, so fighting the real deal was really getting him hyped up! Kio stood amongst the crowd of students in his costume, a wide grin sprawled across his face, hidden behind his mask. An alternative method for passing the test was disclosed, but Kio could honestly care less about taking the easy way out after the plan they came up through. It wouldn't be easy, but that was the fun of the game. "4376. Got it? One of you has to type it in; my hands will be full keeping Page Master's hands full. Team Ironheade, let's rock!" "Just stick to the plan I made and Page Master is toast. If you wanna type the code in, be my guest, but that throws a wrench in our tactics." Kio looked towards Ayane, his scowl also hidden behind his mask. "And it's Team Perfect Aces."
  17. You represent a God God, but may be a descendant of any number of demi-gods/old time legends like the ones mentioned. You will not be playing a god, rather a champion of a God. Let's say if you wanted to play Heracles, he'd obviously be repping the Greek Pantheon. So to sum up your question, yes you may use those characters if they are still living, but this RP takes place during the modern era, so a descendant is acceptable.
  18. His apology seemed to stir up the shark, as she began to make her way to him, getting real up close and personal. Seeing her from this close was almost enough to knock him out cold, but he managed to keep himself gathered until she spoke. "Yeah, you got me. But let's get one thing straight, that wasn't even close to the worst beating I can take. Give me a bit to figure out how to bite electricity and you'll be sorry next time." Nanami continued before a devilish grin exposed her array of pointed teeth. "Not that there's gonna be a next time since you'll be on your best behavior and all that. So, what do you do for fun aside from mess up run down stores? We've got every activity you could ever imagine." Takao rolled his neck and sighed, doing his best to avert his eyes from the girls smooth skin. "I ain't got much time for fun these days...I've been trying to find my little bro..." He stopped himself short. "I ain't gonna spare you the sob story, so let's just say I've been on the run cause of it, okay? Fun isn't really somethin' I'm looking for at the moment. Just glad to not be sleeping on the streets anymore." He breathed in, reminiscing about the soft gym matt that he had to lay on in the storage room. "I guess sleepin' is kinda fun." "From the electronics store, right? Nice to meet you!"A girl he didn't recognize, all bright and spirited, greeted him next. He bowed to her. "Right back 'atcha. You seem a bit different from the lot...wonder if you got some kinda tragic story too." He smiled. "Kinda rude not to introduce yourself, you know?" "Welcome to hero school hell," A girl with creepy bits moaned. "Quick PSA since I know you feed off electricity. Any bug zappers or similar objects you might find on campus are not to be drained." The girl showed off her arm. "It's for my Quirk." Takao clicked his tongue in response. "Plenty to feed off of from the generator...no biggie. I ain't gonna mess with anything else." "Oh, an electric quirk? Damn, Elec-hobo doesn't sound that good, and Sparky's over done," "Just call me Takao, dammit. It ain't hard. You the moron' 'round here?" He spat at the boy. "So, you're going to stay here?" Another student asked. A single nod from Takao answered Midome's question. "Actually, wait, yeah, are you like, staying here in the game room or are you, like, coming to school with us?" the previous boy added. "Like, I don't care either way, but I do wanna know if I have to knock before comin' in here." "Nah. I'm staying in the storage room. If you're gonna knock, knock on that door." The last student got up, and sized him up, just as the shark had done before. Takao eyed the boy with a sharp toothed grimace. "Takao, eh? I'm Akuma." He offered a hand in greeting. "Welcome to hell, I guess. You some kind of electrical-type?" "Akuma? Why'd your parents do that to ya?" Takao nodded to Akuma as well. "Also, yeah. With enough electricity, I can convert my whole body into the stuff...but I normally only have enough juice for my skin. If I do it for too long, I could shock the rest of my internal organs into failure. Kinda bad if you ask me." "...do you think we get mail here?" "Duh." Juryo laughed. "I bet Arai Sensei will hand it out as we get it. Who are you expecting mail from? Does your family still love you?" He asked the girl. "Ah, hell yeah, I haven't been on a patrol in months, I miss the night life," Hane said as he reached out and shook Juryo's hand. "I need to find the black market 'round here sooner than later anyways," "Black market, huh?" Juryo's grin was as wide as could be, "Haven't been there in a hot minute...let's say we head down there sometime. I could always use some extra supplies...maybe some upgrades to my costume even. What are you in such a hurry to get there?" As Takao garnered attention from the last of the class, he couldn't help but smile at the sight. However, the comment from Takao about his little brother had peaked Juryo's interest a bit. He bumped Toshiko in the side with his elbow. "Think he needs a hero?" He said with a sly grin. Over at the cards table, Miyu was pouting. "Hard pass, cheating defeats the point." "You're no fun. Winning is all that matters!" Miyu threw her arms up in the air. "Play the game! Play the game!" She kicked her feet on the floor, like some child who didn't get the toy they wanted. Honestly, she was bored to tears right now. Even watching some boring card game would be more entertaining than listening to that Takao guy.
