  1. Zoe had gotten to the event venue early to get the perfect seat at an equal distance between the opponents and at a decent height to get a good look at them. Sure, she had to deal with a few people asking questions about many different topics, which was a non-issue. A few reporters did pester her, which was annoying, but she answered a few questions and they finally left her alone. This turned her attention to the field in front of her.

In Zoe's opinion, the best outcome of this match for her is Yuliya, because the debuffs that Zombie World imposes on her deck would make her strategies difficult. From what she knew, Thunder Dragon's were hyper-aggressive, which could easily be stalled out, but Zombie's were slower, which give them a better shot against her. However, she had yet to see how they played, so that would have to wait.

Then, the spotlights turned on and the opponents entered the arena. They seemed to be old friends, and friendly rivals at that. The two played very differently. Yuliya was playing aggressively, focusing on banishment and discarding to activate her effects. She also was confident, barely pausing between cards played. She also seemed to play up the theatrics a bit, but that just might just be her brand of style. Arden on the other hand was focused on defense, setting a few cards with Zombie World. Either way, this duel was far from over, and Zoe started to get why some of these duelist did it, it certainly was exciting. Only a little though.

  2. Talking to Leila was more frustrating than Zoe had expected. She had essentially been told yes, it was pretty tame considering all, but it was definitely possible that it doesn't stay that way. However, on the bright side of things, Leila was incredibly easy to talk to about food with.

"Well that is nice to know. It at least it has the potential to be better."

She took another bite of the Cherruberry Croissant. "Wow, it's a strangely named pastry, but it is good."

She was then given a question of what she was doing, specifically pointed at restaurants. "Well, finding a few places to eat here might be nice. But no, I was planning on going to the beach. It's a place I like to collect my thoughts. I was planning on getting a coffee before going there, and here we are. I didn't really expect to meet someone on the way. So, if you don't mind, let's pick up this conversation after I grab a coffee."

She then turned to try and walk past Leila into the cafe, but she noticed a pair of girls sitting outside facing the street. They appeared to be conversing and staring at her and Leila. This bothered her a bit, so she walked over to the pair to ask about the purpose of their gaze in her direction.

"Excuse me, you two. I saw your attention was focused on Leila and I. I was wondering if you wanted to ask or tell us something. If it's about food, perhaps she would be a better person to ask then me."

She waited for an answer to her question.

  3. Zoe had asked one of the locals and was pointed to a local bakery/cafe, "Manna from Heaven Bakery". She was planning on entering and getting a coffee before she noticed a woman staring at her. She vaguely recalled seeing this person at the opening ceremony and tried to remember who this person was, but after a few seconds the woman approached Zoe. Her voice contradicted her appearance, looking enthusiastic but sounding exhausted. "Yes, my name is Zoe Celia. And you are..." She thought for another moment before spitting out names. "Lily. Liliana. Leanne. Leila. Eliana. Leila!" She said with a snap. "Well, how are yo..?"

Zoe's vision is suddenly flooded by Leila's white hair. "W-whoa! Personal space, please." She took a step back from the overenthusiastic duelist. The desert themed duelist then revealed the contents her bags, first a personal one, and then a bag from the bakery. There were so many different kinds of pastries in that bag that Zoe couldn't recognize some of them, like this thing that appeared to be a open faced croissant filled with jelly. "No, I don't..." She tried to object, but her stomach overruled her with a growl. "Alright, I'll have one, but I owe you something." She reached in and grabbed the pastry that piqued her interest. "But no promises on pastry dough clearing troubles. Eating your problems away is a terrible coping mechanism."

Zoe took a deep breath. "So, this is how a pro deals with the largest dueling tournament of the year. Is it always like this? Maybe it's just me, but so far it's been feeling a bit lack luster, having bravado but not much else." She took a bite of the dessert, and was blasted away with how tasty it was. "Wow, this is really good, thanks. What is this? I don't believe I've ever had one of these.

  4. So, I'm going to talk about something that's been bothering me for quite some time. Ever since I joined up back in the YCM days before the split, every time I joined an RP, it never ended up going anywhere. It crashed and burned, whether that be because of lack of time, enthusiasm, or what have you. However, I noticed a trend. In most (not all) of these canceling, I was the last to post before it ended prematurely. It had died, and the way I saw it, it was my fault for not writing well or what have you. I mean sure, I made jokes about it, "The Destroyer of RP's", Haha, very funny. But I think that this has gave me hesitance to write, because I feel like that if I can't take the plot somewhere interesting, than it will just end up crashing and burning, which honestly sucks, but I love writing, I have so many narrative ideas to create and want to create. I know that these are not my fault, they are just a set of unforeseen consequences I hadn't expected, but if I know this, why do I feel so terrible about it? Why do I feel like if something fails that I touched that I was the cause of it?

Is it normal to feel this way?

Are these even the right questions to be asking?

I don't know, but just talking about it certainly makes me feel a little better.

  5. The opening ceremony was not exactly what Zoe had exactly expected. It was a bit more lengthy than she had expected, and she was running out of patience near the end of the announcer's speech, but the end did give her some ideas about who she was facing and how to set up her deck for certain match-ups using her side-deck. But, the event ended, and Zoe calmly walked to the exit, where she and her fellow competitors were swarmed by a mob of reporters.

Zoe wished that there were less press here. She knew, it was the biggest dueling event of the year, but that didn't mean that this was the only time to interview people. She did briefly get asked a few questions, but they were very simple question.

Why Aroma's? "It is an old favorite, however with a new twist on things."

Are the rumors about a new ace true? "Well, I wouldn't consider it an ace, but yes I have. I think I'll save it's reveal for the tournament."

How are you feeling about the tournament ahead? "I can't afford to feel anything but confident."

What was her main reason for entering this tournament in the first place? "No comment, this isn't the place for me to answer that question, nor the time."

She brushed aside any other questions she was asked. She was glad there were so contestants, because it meant that the press would be occupied with the other competitors instead of her, giving her a chance to leave and put everything together. She was ready to cool off in the best way she knew how. She was going to see the ocean, one of the few places she felt at ease. But, she intended on grabbing a coffee first, of course. She wasn't exactly sure how to reach there from the arena or the hotel, but she hoped that someone at the coffee shop would be willing to point her in the direction of a beach.

'There isn't much time to prepare,' Zoe thought to herself. 'There are too many potential match-ups for any specific change to my deck to be super effective. But there are no safe paths left for me. The only choice is to press forward.'

  6. Hello everyone, this is likely a blog that is going to shift topics every once in a while. First off, I am going to talk about my randomized adventures in Pokemon White, while not my favorite nor my first, is a difficult game and something I haven't tried since the re-release of Pokemon Blue for the 3ds. I got this Idea from stumbling onto the Youtube channel of one Tom Fawkes. I randomize everything from Pokemon placement to types and learnsets, TM compatibility, you name it. However, no regular wild pokemon are going to be legendary, and the Dark Stone isn't going to hold a Pidgey. Some may call this not truly random, but I think that make the game harder, but I now in post wished that it didn't give legends to Random Trainers. So now, without further delay, let this adventure unfold.

I hit up a random name generator and got the name Savoe, which apparently means I'm an Italian in New York. The starters offered to me were the Fire Type Porygon, the Fire Type Oddish, and the Ghost Type Venipede. I chose Porygon, named it Fireypixel and it had Sing, which, if you don't know, is great because it increases the chances of catching pokemon. I almost lose to Cheren's Venipede, it knowing Rock Throw, and then I spam Incinerate to kill the Oddish.

We then go to route 1, and see Juniper catch a pokemon and not add it to the Pokedex(I never understood this). I then walk into the grass and find a Combee, which I make fall asleep and catch. Unfortunately, it is a Male Ground-Ghost type, which means it's a pile of garbage. I named it boozz, because it's the portmanteau of boo and buzz. We walk into Furret Town, where they worship the god who treadmills to the promised sequel or something of the like. We see Ghetsis talk about freeing the God from his treadmill, and everyone is confused. Some guy, M or whatever, decides to fight me, and I defeat him quite easily. We then go out to route 2, and accidently kill an Ice Surskit on the way, Then, we fight Bianca, who, for GOD knows why has a Kyurem, which for some reason was either Fire or Water Type or both, and then came out Oddish. boozz did decent damage to it with mudbomb, but is random crit and dies, putting my death count at 1. I put him in the Graveyard and go back to pick up some more items, including a Helix Fossil. I couldn't believe the town cast out our lord and savior for a ferret. It will be of great help if I survive until Lenora.

I go to the Dreamyard, and then almost lose to the first trainer because it had an Water-Grass Deoxis. I come back and claim the gift, got an Ice Luxio that I named Luckio becuase I hoped for good RNG, and it was Ice, and immediatly became a big help for Cress. The battle was so easy that I forgot what Pokemon he had. There we go, one down, seven to go.

I went out of town, beat up some toddlers, and then was sent to beat up some people to get back a Patrat from Team Plasma, and on the way I find a Gothita which is a Dragon Type, which I named Drag King. I beat those guys up with Cheren in a cave, and find where Juniper got Cheren's starter, and catch one for myself, and christen him Phantipede. I go around into Nacrene City.

First things first, I punish L for not paying admissions to enter the museum, only to find out that the museum doesn't have an admission fee. My bad, I forgot this was Animerica and not America. I then go train outside Pinwheel Forest, catching a Ground-Type Timbur named Tremor. I then fight some guys out in the grass, and while out fighting a black belt next to the Challenge Rock, she sends out a Hariama and crits Phantipede, and he dies. Not too long afterwards I take on the gym, after noticing all the ghosts have died. I then tragically lose Drag King to a mistap, accidentally hitting an attack instead of switching out, getting hit by a Icuring (Ice Ursaring, haha, it hurts) and death number three. However, his death reminds me that I have that Helix Fossil that I never used, so I go over to the counter, slide him God himself, and he gives me a Carnivine made of Water, and I named him Carn. Then comes Lenora.

I don't remember all the Pokemon that she had, but I know that I didn't lose any. I remember Phirypixel being really close to death due to a Dragon Dance boosted sweeper, and Luckio having just enough health to switch-in and hit it with Glaciate to kill it. The basic badge is within my grasp. Then, Lenora's Husband kicks over the bookshelf we were battling under and says that Team Plasma is taking the Dragon Skull. I march through the Forest and encounter my Nemisis. All Park Rangers. Because I was grinding up my Tremor, I accidentaly walked in front of him, and he sends out a Grassly (Grass Gastly), and it one shots it. I burn his favorite moss ball into ashes and leave him crying in the dust to hide the fact that I was also crying from having three deaths so soon. I catch a Fire Paras named Paris, and now I only have four Pokemon, Phirypixel, Luckio, Carn, and Paris.

I then steamrolled through the woods, the last trainer having yet another Kyurem, but luckily he didn't have a Fire Bush to finish off any of my Pokemon. I then get the Dragonite Skull back and cross the bridge into Castelia City. I go down, meet a shady guy who gives me a Water Stone. I go up the Battle HQ, force the CEO to clean the floor so I have less work to do when I use him as a mop, and then head out into Route 4 to catch my next pokemon and meet Haru, my Fighting-Ground Snorunt. I also go up a bit to get an item, and get an Old Amber. Remembering how useful Carn has been, I run all the way to Nacrene just to revive it, and it gives me a Tepig I named El Piggo. He's a Dark Type, and his only Dark-Type move is Memento. Memento makes the Pokemon that uses it die. I now realize why an adorable pig would be Dark. But, he does have good coverage, so he's a keeper.

I then try to fight Burgh, who then slaps me in the face and says no. He then leads me on a wild goose chase that leads to the building across the street. We beat some guys up, Ghetsis spouts some philosophy about a burning white-hot Truth Dragon, and leaves, and THEN I fight Burgh. He was a pushover, and there we go, third badge.

From Here, the story will be continued. I will begin writing this after I've beaten the next Gym Leader. I will also have screenshots taken so I can show you the emotional pain that I will go through (hopefully not as bad as the emotional pain of Alpharad having to release Mr. Bustdown).

So, Here is a tribute to the fallen.

boozz, the Male Ghost-Ground Combee. You will not be missed, and you shall return from whence you came.

Phantipede, the pure Ghost Venipede. The team is a specter of it's former self without you.

Drag King, the pure Dragon Gothita. I regret not being able to tell your foes "King Dragon sends his regards".

Tremor, the pure ground Timburr. The earth will shake in your memory.

I hope you will join me again on my journey of sadness, chaos, and vengeance.

  7. For me, as a child, I really liked Ice Age 2:The Meltdown, and I think that it is the best Ice Age. However, the scene where the alligator thing's eye snaps open after 20 seconds of suspenseful music really freaked me out, and I think solidified my dislike of suspense in most forms of media. There's also a behind the scenes short with one of the first three, and there's a scene of Scrat, the prehistoric sabertooth squirrel, trapped in ice, and then it's eye snaps open and it screams, and I remember that scaring me too.

  8. Pretty ok with me. I'll bite.

Main Character: Sweet Scents, Petals, and OH GOD IS THAT A DRAGON

    Spoiler

    Name: Zoe Celia

    Gender: Female

    Age: 24

    Appearance:

    Spoiler

    CtdqdNG.jpg

She looks a lot older than she actually is, given the amount of stress she is under. Her hair is a light shade of blonde.

    Height: 5'9"

    Personality:

    Spoiler

Zoe is a quiet, caring person with a large amount of maturity to her. She sits in the background and watches things unfold. She doesn't like interfering in other's affairs. However, those who do get close to her find she is incredibly loyal and is one to sacrifice everything for them. She likes her tight group of people, and doesn't let people in easily, although she always tries to put on a friendly face.

Deep down though, she is suppressing a feeling of uselessness. Everything she has done to help her mother, in her eyes, has done nothing to help her get better, and any progress she had made in making her healthy has only delayed something that she can't do anything about. Zoe is doing this for her mother, and if she fails, than she feels all her work would be for naught. But even still, she can't give up on her mother. She fights without mercy, because she cannot afford to lose.

    Biography:

    Spoiler

Zoe hasn’t had a lively life. She lives on the east coast with her mother in a small town of Kust, but it hasn’t been easy. Her mother was prone to illness due to a weakened immune system that she has had since birth. Zoe's father couldn’t support her, so he moved away to get a better paying job, being a crew member on a trading vessel, leaving Zoe home at age 12 to take care of her mother. She was forced to grow up fast and take care of her mother. It took a while, but things began to change. She was getting better. The treatments had been effective in increasing her immune support. And then, during a regular check-up, she was diagnosed with cancer.

She was so ill that she was put in the hospital. Zoe's plans of becoming a doctor were put on hold as she broke into her college fund to support her mother. She’d almost recovered, but without much money left, the treatments would stop, and she would be forced to take out a loan to pay for it, or, if unsuccessful in securing a loan... Zoe didn't like to think about the alternative. So Zoe did something she hadn't done in a long time. In her youth, she had entered a few smaller tournaments for money, not with large success, but middling amounts of success, enough to scrape on by. Now, it was time for the big leagues, the Blue Rose tournament. She entered with the intention to get the money by any means necessary, whether that be by winning or getting enough donations to see her mother past her last treatment.

Misc. Information: Theme songs, trivia, and other fun facts

    Spoiler

She won her regional tournament match by a very close margin.

Zoe can speak fluent Dutch, which makes communication easier with her mother some days.

  9. There isn't a grand design that leads you somewhere from pain, but in my experience, pain leads directly to the hardest lessons you will ever learn. It teaches you something that will be with you forever. Whether that be acceptance, the importance of relationships with other human beings, or some other third thing because I don't have all the answers, it matters very little. It is just about the journey of how you get through this. For some, the fog will not end for some time. For others, it is right around the corner. But for everyone, all we can do is never stop fighting it, because wallowing in your sadness doesn't help you out of the fog.

Thank you Blake. You made me realize that I was falling into a depression, or something similar to one. I hope writing about your issues makes it easier to deal with, because it certainly helped me.

  10. So, I put out a status asking this question, and it wasn't resolved, being two votes to two votes. So, I thought that I should make this a proper poll to determine this. So, is Lightning Light, or is it Wind? Use whatever logic you like to determine your answer.

  11. Domino's. Without question. Both of my folks worked at a Pizza Hut, and they prefer Domino's too. I just really like the consistency of what we get, it's never been bad. However, I've had some bad Pizza Hut pizza, and in my small(ish) town, I would rank them fifth, which is last. For me, it goes Domino's, A local family owned, Papa Murphy's, Caesar's, and then Pizza Hut. I mean, pizza is still pizza, but it's on the opposite side of town, It takes forever to get here, and Domino's is a five minute drive from my house. There is no reason in my mind to waste my time with them.

  12. You know what, please give me some feedback. I've been working on this for almost a month off and on, and I feel like if I continue to work on it in the way that I have been, I will still be working on this by 2021, so please, if you will, tell me how many things I have to fix.

    Spoiler

Name: Syric Barrow, of the Crypt Keepers.
    Age: 22
    Gender: Male
    Race: Half-Elf

    Appearance:

    Spoiler

Syric is about 5'6", with short copper blond hair and pale green eyes. He's lean, skinny, and pale, wearing a basic black robe emblazoned with a seven pointed star inside a circle. He only has a right arm, however on the stub of his left arm he wears a black iron band. He wears black boots and white wool socks.

    Personality:

    Spoiler

Syric is an ambitious student of the arcane, known for his whit and politeness in almost every situation. He treats everyone equally and gives them the respect each person deserves, even if they don't reciprocate. He hears people out, even if they are speaking complete nonsense. After all, you never know when some words that don't make sense right now might be of use later.

Syric, for being raised as a warrior, is quite scholarly. He always keeps some text on him for a free moment. He happily trades the money he saves from the Crypt Keepers to get a look at some nobles libraries, taking a lot of prodding to do so. He has earned the trust of many minor noble families, due to his honesty and trustworthiness. He has earned many places of study around town, thanks to his honor, and the services he offers to people.

It's this combination of factors that give him a sort of charm, though Syric doesn't understand why. He attracts people of all kinds from around town to meet him, elves being the most common. He likes this attention, giving him a chance to meet new people and gain new pieces of information. He does find the company of some nobles to be less than nice, with all the insults they call him, "Half-Breed" being the most common. He lets it slide, knowing that saying something about it will cause more problems than it solves.

Syric doesn't like using his more manipulative magic outside of the battlefield. He finds it's usage wrong, especially charming someone. He feels like it's subverting the entire purpose of being polite and ruins relationships with other people. He feels the same when others use it too. He doesn't like surprises, so he is very cautious in dark rooms and rooms with only one entrance/exit. The last time he did that was when he lost most of his arm.

    Biography:

    Spoiler

Syric did not have a solid childhood. Both his parents died before he could meet them, so some of his first memories are with his uncle. Syric's uncle was very sketchy. He would meet less than savory people in his home, didn't allow his nephew out of his room after sundown, and had very creepy items scattered about the house. It was a relatively nice home, his uncle doing pretty well for himself. He make his living selling cursed items outside of the noble's eyes. At least, out of most people's eyes. Other than that,

But then, Syric's uncle got too greedy. Too many people in a similar time frame died of the same type of curse, and that lead back to Syric's uncle. The Crypt Keepers were hired to investigate, being experts in curse magic, but they didn't even get to apprehend him, he killing himself with poison. The Crypt Keepers turned in all of the cursed items into the Knights, and then adopted Syric at the age of 7, planning on training him in the arts of fighting almost any type of creature.

Syric was trained in the arts of spells and swords, but his bladesmanship was not good. His magical potential, on the other hand, was large, able cast powerful spells at a young age, though lacking in the endurance department. He continued to improve and improve. He was 15 when he entered the Dungeon for the first time, and was sent with some Veteran's. This was a test to see how far he had come. Not far enough. His left arm, above his elbow, got clawed off by some lizard creature, and from that day on, he lived with one arm and a nub.

This didn't stop him, though. He went further to become a very talented spellcaster. He once defeated three of his contemporaries at the same time in a practice fight. And now, he's looking to enter the Dungeon once more, to prove his advancement since the last time he entered it's halls, but he doesn't want to it alone for safety reasons, and doesn't want to go into the dungeon with his siblings in arms, because most of the people able to go with him are inexperienced, and the people who are experience are busy. So, Syric is hoping to find a group to go into the Dungeon with.

    Syric's 'family':

    Spoiler

Syric is a member of a group known as the Crypt Keepers, a specialty mercenary group branching out here only 70 years ago. They adopt children with potential talent of Necromancy and train them as mercenaries. All members take the name Barrow, though it is more of a title for the sibling -in-arms. This branch is currently being lead by a man named Delvid Barrow, who is know as "The Channeler" for his ability to channel powerful purifying light into his hands. They are seeing more and more business, as they have started to build a reputation for efficient work and honorable practices.

    Experience Level: Experienced.
    Magic Level: Pure
Non-combat Skills: Stealth, Potion Making, Poetry,

    Magic Schools: Necromancy, Enchantment
Combat style: Syric is a mid field controller. He is a skilled wielder of curse and paralyzing spells, and while not his focus, his negative energy spells do the job when big hits are needed. Syric is a practical caster, not wasting time on intricate unnecessary movements, moving just enough to cast the spells. However, this pragmatism isn't for show. It is because while a potent spellcaster, Syric doesn't have a large mana pool to back it up. He doesn't have the endurance to keep up in most situations, and while his draining spells certainly help, they can only go so far.

The main physical appearance between all the spells Syric casts is the creation of a seven pointed star inside a circle. This appears in his hand, under his foes, and around them. In his more energy based spells, they appear as black spheres void of color, until they explode outward with whatever effects the spell had.  His more subtle mind affecting spells turn the effected's pupils black with a seven pointed star in them.

    Equipment:

    Spoiler

    Black Iron Armband

    A rope

    A waterskin filled with vinegar

    A notebook

    A bag of random herbs

    Empty potion bottles

A potion of Silence: A potion that renders the drinker completely silent, including sounds the drinker makes due to movements and magic, though prevents magic that requires spoken words to cast.

A potion of Invisibility: A potion that renders the drinker invisible to the naked eye, and works for 10 minutes, until that person attacks or uses magic. Syric's panic option, combined with the potion of Silence.

    A waterskin filled with water

A bag of trinkets from Syric's past, including one of his mother's earrings (a gold painted iron earring), a book about potions (thanks dad), a broken mirror, a ring with a skull on it (thanks uncle), and a small box Syric refuses to open, containing the last gift he ever obtained from his uncle.

A scroll from a library, discussing the mechanics of magical shadows.

    Trivia

    Spoiler

Syric uses his nub arm in daily life, hanging a basket off of it to carry more, etc. He doesn't like it when others touch it.

If he runs out of energy for magic, he is not afraid to get physical, despite being not good in melee range. If Syric feels backed into a corner, we will break one of his potion bottles and use it as a weapon.

Syric's opinion of his long dead uncle is a conflicting one. Sure, he was most definitely evil and was very strict, however, he was family, and did care about him to some extent. And besides, he did leave behind an item that may be important to his future.

Syric doesn't have a ton of work given to him by the Crypt Keepers, because most of the jobs they get require endurance, something Syric lacks, so he is mostly left to his own devices, excepting the potion they have him brew. He currently has a small home nearby the HQ. A normal day for Syric starts by going over to find work, doing the one minor task they give him, train for a bit, walk around the town and talk with people, go to one of the many libraries open to him, work on potions and try not to have it blow up, and finally, sleep.

  13. Ann's first activity upon returning to base was not in fact resting as she would have liked, but she wasn't tired after those events like she thought she was. Instead, she went to New York Theater Workshop. She needed some relief from today blur of events. It began as Moonlight Sonata, but slowly transformed into a weird improvisation thing in C# minor. It was peaceful, it was relaxing. At least for a few more hours, she would be at peace from the pit of misery.

    -April 17th, 2000-
    -10 AM-
    -Diluculo Branch 22-

Ann's first thought after the meeting was of the previous day, how she let her emotions take control of her actions. She needed to rein in her curse, and without pain medication. While it did help, it was addictive, and however nasty her burden was, it was still useful. So she went to someone who she knew could help. She went to the Major.

Ann knocked on the door to the Major Volkov's office. It took a few minutes, but the Major answered and she entered, sitting in the chair across from the Major's desk.

"So, I think, uh, we both remember what happened yesterday. I understand that I potentially saved some of my fellow teammates, but I don't want to be that person, to hurt someone to save others, especially a child! I need your help to learn how to better control it. I know there is only a limited number of things you can do, and I can always work with Marcel, but if you couldn't tell, being around him is hard. It hurts a lot, to be around him. Is there anything you can do to help me out?

Ann could only hope, and shutter occasionally from the pain of Marcel's affliction.

  14. Ann could tell something was going on in the background based on the inconsistencies of Cade's and Akiko's conversation. Why would Cade say he couldn't help the Major but do so anyway? She would have to ask her roomie about it later, but before she could even finish that thought, a form of pain struck her body.

Fear. Not from the beast, but Major Volkov. It was a strong too, and Ann could tell that Nika was clearly dedicated to have this concern for them. There was also a dulled internal pain in her, likely from bruising. However, it drove her to action.

As soon as Nika tackled it, Ann made her move. All of these feelings gushing through her body, all those haunting memories of the past, in one push she released them into this creature. She dropped to her knees and almost passed out from it, but she didn't care. She wanted the fighting to end without any more blood.

When Ann had recovered from it, she found Nika scolding her for her actions, holding a young boy. Ann stood and spoke, slowly and deliberately.

"I apologize, Major. You call it "heroic" but "foolish" is a better word for it. The pain, it began to overwhelm me, especially after I began to prepare such an attempt. I simply wanted it to stop. I don't care what punishment you have for me when we return, but no matter what it is, remember that this day will be permanently burned into my head and haunt me for all time. Any punishment you have for me is only secondary to the curse I will carry forever and always."

Ann made sure to keep her distance from the Major. She would have taken the pain back from the boy, but she was afraid that Nika would have been angered by the overuse of her Id, the kid might awake and his Id might run wild again, and Ann would certainly have pass out if she did.

The car ride back was awkward. Ann felt as if she was responsible for this in some ways. She had committed insubordination. She had endangered the lives of her teammates. She could have failed to knock it out and just angered it. She could have...

'Get a hold of yourself.' She thought to herself as she wiped the tears from her eyes. 'It's all in the past now, so what good is it to bother with the what if's? Besides, the opposite holds true as well.'

The trip to the infirmary was actually okay. Ann would have cleared up everyone's pain, but because of her Id's usage, a headache began to flare up and she was given a Ibuprofen to clear it. Ann was glad, at least she didn't snap. She hadn't in some time now.

Ann simply waited. She knew the Major had some choice words for whoever that guy was, named like Major Dragon or whatever, and she was sure he deserved ever word of it. Time would come for when she could simply make it back to base, shower, and rest before the nightmares undoubtedly resurface tonight. She hoped it would be soon.

  15. The warning had worked. It got tricked by Akiko's informed deception, but they were getting pushed back hard. The beast was no longer solely fueled on bloodlust, but instead it was in a wild frenzy, a torrent of pain and a want of causing pain. Ann knew she had to do something.

It was not going so well .By her assessment, Lucia doing alright, but the Major was in a lot rougher state than anyone else. She wasn't hurt badly, but her clothes were shredded. She may have had some bruising, but it was hard to tell. Ann was certainly frightened of this beast now that she had seen it fight, but she steeled herself for what she was going to try to do.

Ann looked at Akiko. "I am going in. At this rate, with just them, this will not end well. Try and have them bait it into me."

Ann began to slink slowly down to where the fight was going on. She knew that if the beast wished, it would know, but Ann hoped it would be distracted enough to not notice her. Ann could feel the intensity of this creature's pain increase. Ann took this pain and began to snowball it, adding more and more memories of pain to it, preparing to use it in one push into the creature. Ann hoped that this plot would work, or all of there lives would be at stake.

Though, likely, if it failed, she would die. It would at least give them a chance at success.
