  1. Just thought up one brainstorm idea to pitch in for Vixen (since the other definitions of Vixen are well...  I don't think they will help you much. ^^" Of course, you are free to find that out for yourself)

So what if you made her visual effect/ symbols fox paw prints, and conform her fur color with the rest of the reindeer.

  2. Vixen and your current version of Dancer certainly standout from the rest with their fur colors... Not necessarily a bad thing, but there is a pretty consistent motif going there with the group... Although I see that all the members of the groups share a relationship with their name and design, so I at least understand why Vixen is crimson though considering that one of the definition of vixen is a female fox. Additionally, her tail certainly resembles the essence of a fox. I still am partial on the idea her fur being the same with the rest of the reindeer, and perhaps find an alternative means to represent the essence of a fox in a different way. But, I also understand that could be quite a challenge as I wouldn't have an idea on how I would do that myself.

As for Dancer, well I know you are re-doing the color so I don't really have much say for criticism ther, but I do have a few things to mention, nonetheless. One thing that is bothering me about him is that he seems off-centered compared to the rest. While the others are either scaled in the common points of interest (going by Rule of Thirds) either by their body or visual effects, he kind of shies away from that. Maybe scale him a little bit larger to cover the left side or add 1 more musical note just to the left of him. Another thing is that  all the other reindeer have monochromatic symbols and aura around them (except Rudolf but he is kind of expected to the the exception to the group) while this guy has 3 different colored musical notes and no aura. It really sets him astray from the theme. Maybe try to make the music notes the same color followed by a similar colored aura.

One final thing is that after revisiting Rudolf, I notice he doesn't have any underbelly shading of any sort whereas all the others have some from lighting around their form from their aura. I think it would only define the form of the body better if you added some subtle shading.

Regardless, though keep up the good work... I still really like what you got going on here.

  3. Sakura from former YCM would be proud. XD

I must say I love how some of the snow flakes are following the form of Comet... It really captures the motion of the him. I feel though as if you can emphasize this more on him and some of the others like Donner having the snowflakes around him go more horizontal a long with him in the image. Some of them don't need as much as their motion is very subtle like Cupid.

Aside from that great lighting, concept, and ways of distinguishing them from one another (e.g. different antlers and elemental/conceptual effects around them)

Such an intriguing way to reinvent "Finite Cards". Best timing of activation would be during the opponent's EP to catch it off-guard and make it lose cards if didn't play enough of them. And yet waiting until the End Phase to make a better use of this seems impractical, and it's no good when going second nor as a topdeck card. Still, looks like it would be a great counter card vs. decks that rely on keeping cards in hand, Magical Musketeers coming to mind, although they would be able to chain their backrow removal Spell/Traps in response anyway. Deck with plenty of hand traps would be affected, too.

Oh wait, the effect has been largely changed. The point on activating it during the opponent's EP for a bigger impact still stands, but it is so much different now that it's a temporary and lingering effect once it resolves, and ideally it won't affect yourself, which otherwise forced you into playing a deck that can better adapt to it. I preferred the previous version personally, since it was a bit more fair by both allowing 1 card, and being stoppable by Quick Spell/Trap removal like good old MST. But even then, wasn't sure if was worth playing, while this version seems more appealing to play in any deck when going first and would definitely stand out in slower formats.

I am double guessing this one a lot on design....

Because the continuous version could trigger this forgettable gem a multiple number of times: https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Dark_World_Grimoire Yet, that would be a 2 card combo with a both being not very searchable. But, the card is "fair" as you say.

Whereas with its current temporary lingering state could do the same, but with a single attempt most likely. And is more focused on punishing your opponent for conserving plays, keeping hand traps, or having their cards returned to their hand... But, is as you say more solely accentuated towards that timing. Most importantly though is searchable by Trap Trick.

I haven't really come to grips with this card's design, but I am leaning more towards Normal Trap status because searchability adds up to my general pragmatic philosophy in card design when balance is weighed within good reason, of course. (Not mentioning times of rusty card design).

I'm amazed that Pot of Dichotomy being a fair and solid card, can't find a place in most decks out there (I guess because it fits my idea of a fair and fun power level that's good, but that in the IRL current game is apparently too slow). It also reminds me of "The Seventh One" which gives you up to a 4500 ATK triple attacker that essentially negates the opponent entirely for the turn... and still doesn't see play.

Makes me question if this would be good as is, even though something inside me tells me it should have some sort of drawback to it.
I know it can be a pretty good +1 with a hand-fix property sparkled on top for anything that does all the consistency lifting via searching/recycling rather than via drawing, which is an increasingly common thing (off the top of my head I know Sky Strikers could use it well). Then again we have Desires and its variant that uses the Extra Deck instead (and I don't like using either of them but I'd certainly use this card) and they haven't done a ton of problems. There's also Pot of Avarice at 1 in Japan for the longest time and I find myself eager for the day they finally release that card on the TCG side.

All in all, I don't know... xD
Feels wrong, but doesn't look wrong. Haha...

Bonus points that it doesn't need a hard OPT clause because of the draw phase and "start of MP1" conditions, and that said conditions kind of discourage you from running many other straight up draw effects, if any, as to not risk dead drawing into this.

Yeah think only reasons why Dichotomy isn't used is because of its specific activation timing, and its specific requirement of set-up... Just too many things holding it back in the eyes of people who are primarily focused on the first few turns of the game...

I made this card more lenient on the magnitude of it solely because it is locked into only being able to use at such a specific time, and there is such an abrasive power creep  going on in the grand scheme of things. I use to have its effect Draw only 2, but I think the powercreep and the other good modern day Pots more than justify additional draws with reverse stacking.

I wonder if returning a Leo to the GY with the second effect will trigger its float effect, since technically it is being sent to the GY. Would have to look up rulings on that.

Unfortunately, I think "returned" to the GY is different from being "sent" to the GY.

    https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Return

Yeah here it is mentioned in 2nd titled paragraph "Returning banished cards to the Graveyard":

"When returning banished  cards to the Graveyard, returning is not considered to be sending a card to the Graveyard... "

Just here on out, unless the rules change in the future, please, since it's been there since the site was made. The section's been handled hands-off, but I'm gonna be cleaning it up soon.

Anything earlier I'll leave be, but please comply with the rules until if/when they change.

Alrighty.. Thank you for the heads up, and the clarification.

Finally, please put [Written] in the title, as per the rules. Work is going to be going into the section soon, and rules will be cracked down on as needed.

Is the written rule retroactive? I mean I did make cards from the start without " written " on them because I haven't had problems with it in all my times in YCM/NCM.

  9. Options:

So basically as it stands now... It is a means for Heraldics to go into a good handful of Chaos Xyz. To mention the most practical ones that don't make you have to go the extra mile (with things like Type and Attribute changes with Reprodicus) :

Unfortunately, as far as CXyz goes you are forced to go the extra mile as their regular counterpart requires specific typing for their materials:

    Applications:

Quick-Play effects are always nice especially for this cards case as you can use the Quick Rank-Up to dodge targeting effects. It also gives you some edge with the  stunning Cxyzs like Umbral Horror Masquerade and Giant Red Hand.. Of course, the fact that it is currently unsearchable by generic means will only get you so far... Best "search" I can think of is that you can use Foolish Burial Goods to dump it from the Deck, and then try to pull off its GY eff... But, that already requires a lot of set-up since a lot of the Heraldic Beast that do banish themselves require specific conditions to do so: Unicorn requires Psychic Xyz in GY, Aberconway requires copies of himself in GY, and Twin Headed Eagle requires an emptied Xyz on field. There is one other search I can think of that you are perhaps hinting, but it really restricts you on what you can do: Augmented_Heraldry... As not only does it have the horrible xenophic effect, but it prevents you from targetting your own Xyz with the Rank-Up itself. I really don't know why they made Augmented Heraldry so bad; it still manages to shoot its own foot to this day.

    Conclusion:

It is a pretty nifty card with some good options to work with and it being a Quick-Play makes it pretty flexible on how you can approach things, but it still falls short with what non- Raid Raptor Rank-Ups are still suffering from... Generic searchability.

  10. Hmmm the mass draws is giving me those gimmicky ideas... For example:

    Penalty_Game!

As for additional Normal Summon rule, Decks like Gadgets, and R-Genex get a nice little buff to expand on their advantage generating strategies through Normal Summoning... While making some Decks that heavily rely on their Normal Summon have a better opportunity to out situations were they couldn't Normally out before.

I know it is early to jump the gun, but I like Rush Duels already. At least on paper anyways.

Love MR5... Got nothing against it. Been missing some MR3-esque elbow room.

Not keen on the aesthetic standards of the cards though, but I guess I can let it grow on me eventually.

  11. As I am sure this is all a part of the sketching stage, I do have a few bits of critique to give...

The back part of the hood seems a bit undefined, mostly due to the fact that line art isn't somewhat consistent with the rest of the subject. It seems like you are either trying to have a place for her hair to be tucked in or you're not. With hair in fabric, it generally won't take shape unless the person has an ungodly amount of hair. Best bet is if you want to make the back part of the hood a little more animate with the rest of the character as its design is now I think it would be ideal for the hood to look like air is somewhat pushing it upward since the cloak has air going into it.

Another tiny nitpick is that the doily-esque pattern on the cloak could use a little bit of cross contouring work. Another words a way to make the pattern bend with the fabric. I think that would give it a nice edge to it overall.

Aside from that, love the dynamic pose, the face is endearing, and also love how her hair is cloud like.

Mixed feelings towards this cards. On one hand, it's really good as a TGU/E-Tele in Pendulum Spell form and with both Normal & Pendulum support, a card the latest formats can and could handle, and if it wouldn't have an impact right away, it's bound to do so down the line due to its goodness. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Limited eventually if it was printed.

On the other hand, and tied to the comparison with TGU/E-Tele, IDK if it's an acceptable card to make from a card balance standpoint, since searchers like this get to be moved around in the banlists to control the formats.

In other words, it's a card that we can realistically expect Konami making, but that doesn't mean card makers should make cards like this.

Maybe give it a Traptrick-like effect in that it mills a copy of itself as requirement? That way, it would be indirectly Limited as you would have to jump through hoops to set up for the effect more than once per duel.

Respectable insight...It essentially would make the card require extra Garnets for mismashed Decks, and modern day Burning Abyss builds.  Kind of let my guard down on design after the brief hiatus I decided to take. I'll take you up on the requirement.
