  1. Interacting with Ryia proved to be about all Reinaan's small bit of stamina was good for. He managed to get mounted up on Kloqah as the group began on their way out. But rather than lead the way the mount hovered in the back of the group as they set out back into the searing heat. The Draken slept the majority of the first day away, essentially hugging the base of Kloqah's neck. Her slower pace was part not having him to direct her where to go and part not wanting to wake him. And so the lizard duo simply followed the rest of the group until Reinaan roused from his sleep, feeling somewhat better. At the least he was in a lot less pain. But even accounting for day old puncture wounds and burns something felt odd. After a bit it registered that he felt a bit more aware of his surroundings than he ought to have given he wasn't particularly focused on anything. Maybe his body was just still in its flight or fight response since he was hurt.

Reinaan had Kloqah move to the front of the group again now that he was conscious. Looking at them all, most everyone seemed okay. Everyone except one that was. Gilly had yet to wake up from the shark attack toward the end of the battle at the gate. Given the group's track record in this desert he feared the worst for the girl but with the whole of the group watching out for her she seemed to stay somewhat stable through the trek. Hopefully the village could offer some help when they returned. The trip itself was largely uneventful, the increasingly intolerable endless sun overhead aside. Eventually the small desert town came into view on the horizon.

The group was met at once by the village Elder, complete with two young guards. Gilly was quickly whisked off to the healers of the town. Perhaps they would know something of how to help. But given an attack from a demon gate altered beast had done this to the Ice Chosen, Reinaan wasn't certain anyone would know exactly what to do. He thought of his own arm for a moment but felt his fellow Chosen had done about all that could be reasonably expected for it at least until Lindow had time to really regain his energy before attempting to use light magic on it. Before much else, Ryia produced the Sun Orb as the Elder called it which brought much relief to the old man. He wished to take it to its shrine immediately and the Draken could understand why. He was deeply curious about the object and how it worked as well so he decided to follow the man to the shrine.

"I'm gonna go with him. Make sure no funny business happens on the last leg of things." he said to the others. The boy dismounted Kloqah and it was only then that something else registered. The group seemed smaller than normal. He could see over Ryia's head where he was pretty sure they'd been the same height before. What's more he could just barely see over Lindow's head and he knew the man to be a fair bit taller than him. The observation left him on edge but Reinaan chose not to devote too much mental energy to it for the moment. Instead he simply followed close by the Elder and his guard. It wasn't too long before the fire spirit manifested to the townsfolk again however, a question in mind.

"My, how ever did you humans manage to put a piece of the sun into that sphere?" came Ziiyol's awed musings. That an object existed that seemed to be the essence of warmth itself was fascinating to her. It seemed like something everyone would want simply because fire was wonderful and no fire shone brighter than the sun.

"The sun isn't inside the orb itself. It's merely a magic device that absorbs energy from the sun and uses that to connect with it." was the Elder's reply to the spirit. That raised questions to both of the fire duo but Ziiyol seemed content enough to simply hover about observing it in the man's hands.

"So how does it being gone keep the sun up all the time?" Reinaan asked in turn. A device to harness the sun's power was one thing, but an object that once removed stopped the sun from setting in a certain region seemed beyond anything most races were capable of.

"That...I don't know." the elder responded. "Long ago there were rituals involving this orb but those were lost over time. I had no idea it had such power." The people didn't know how their own relic worked. That was understandable. Reinaan's own village had remnants from their founder which he knew next to nothing about why they did what they did. But then maybe the knowledge of the Sun Orb wasn't lost to everyone.

"Maybe that crazy Auran knew about them. I'll have to ask Keres what all she found in his stuff." Reinaan pondered aloud. He'd seen Keres reading some of the writings the man had left behind in the rock. He hadn't paid them much attention given his illiteracy in all but the most basic of ancient Draken. He still needed to get on learning to read human script from the others now that he thought of it. Maybe they'd have some time while recovering here. Regardless, these were all thoughts for another time.

"A crazy Auran? Is that who did this?" the elder asked of the boy. Reinaan realized Ryia hadn't described a ton of the situation while handing over the orb. The Fire Chosen had to ask himself if he was even certain the fire mage had been an Auran. He'd only really gotten up close and personal with the flaming skeleton version of the man. But even from a distance he seemed something like the Auran in the council they'd met. And he had the trademark colored skin corresponding to an element. It seemed to fit well enough with what he'd learned of the other races without directly meeting them all.

"Yeah, some fire mage had the orb and was keeping it by the gate. Dunno why but he was really into keeping the sun up forever." Reinaan replied casually. Unless the man's reasons were to be found in his writings the boy would have to attribute most of his actions to madness, probably from being so close to the demon gate.

"I've never heard of an Auran thief before. There was an Auran who came here long ago, he said it was official business, but he never so much as asked about the orb and when he left it wasn't gone." the Elder replied. An Auran on official business sounded reminiscent of the council and regardless of if he was part of it or not it cast a shadow of mistrust on the Draken's end of things.

"Huh... did the guy have red skin?" Reinaan asked in turn. This was the only real trait he had to go off of to look for a connection. It seemed to be lost on him that this might not be the all defining trait he was looking for given his own majority black scales despite being aligned with the fire element.

"I think...yes, I believe so." the older man said after some thought.

"Might have been him after all. Either way I'm glad we could get it back for you." Reinaan thought. It made enough sense that if the Auran stole the orb he'd wanna scope the place out a bit first. But before he could linger on it too much another thought clicked in the boy's head. "Oh right, you guys didn't have any bandit problems while we were out did you?"

The elder shook his head. "I don't know if there are any still left around here. It's strange, things being so quiet. Maybe we'll get travelers again."

"Heh, figured they'd all run off after their boss dropped. I don't blame them for not wanting to fight a dragon!" the boy bellowed. He was puffing up his chest and flexing a bit to look a bit more imposing. Ziiyol giggled some at the sight though seemed to have her attention caught up in examining him in general. She'd probably say something about it soon enough. Reinaan then visibly winced as he moved his left arm without thinking. The scorched skin was incredibly tight and trying to move his hand had tugged on the whole of the badly burnt arm to some mild discomfort.

"Such a young group. Tasked with such a mission. The older generations have failed greatly." the Elder said with a frown upon observing the state of the Draken's arm.

"Hey don't worry I'll be fine in no time. And I'm almost an adult... I just don't look it.  But I'm getting there. At least I think I am. I don't remember being this tall last week..." Reinaan rambled. This elicited more laughs from Ziiyol and even the Elder.

"You're all young compared to me." the older man said as the boy got caught up with his Spirit.

"You've definitely gotten taller Reiny. I can see it in your legs and hips. They don't look as squat and childish. The rest of you is growing into it. It's quite a jump you've made in very little time. I wonder what's caused it." she softly questioned as she ran her hands all over the boy's body.

"H-hey cut it out! It's already hot enough without your fire hands everywhere!" Reinaan protested. The two bickered a bit more and lagged behind the Elder and his guards as a result. They squabbled about the Fire Chosen's height some more. Then Ziiyol naturally had to bring up her theory from before. Reinaan argued it had to be wrong given he'd been naked when he got the worst injuries thus far on the trip. But the spirit returned fire saying he'd intentionally hurt his arm with her power and her theory was that unlucky things happened while he was clothed. There wasn't gonna be an end to it for some time it seemed. The past days had been busy with battles and traversing the desert and had left little time for these antics. They had to play catch up now.

  2. Reinaan had passed out somewhere along the line. From his position he'd still managed to absorb his portion of the boss soul and felt the activation of the Demon Gate as Keres destroyed it. But lifting his head to actually observe these events was beyond him. When next the boy woke his wounds had been tended to so far as they could be for the time being. Though brief the sleep had somewhat restored his stamina. He was bandaged up where there bone shards had pierced his flesh, by who he didn't know. At the least moving didn't send pain coursing through the wounds. Ziiyol was happy to see her partner awake and she had been keeping close watch over him. Kloqah too wasn't far off. With the gate gone she had calmed to her usual temperament though perhaps with a touch of annoyance on her face over her smaller lizard's injuries. Despite the fire spirit's objections the draken eventually pushed himself to stand. A touch of panic set in as he looked to his left arm. He couldn't much feel it and almost thought for a moment it was missing. It was still very much there but was missing scales and skin with the exterior pretty thorouHeygh charred from what he could see under the bandages surrounding it.

"Really did a number on myself there huh..." he pondered aloud before his attention was caught by Ryia who called for the group's attention. There seemed to be some opening into the rock formation they had fought the elemental on. The auran must have made his residence here right underneath the gate he gave his life to preserve. Among the objects and scrolls one thing stood out. A glowing orb that seemed to carry with it some of the intensity of the desert sky. Ryia began a thought which clicked in the boy's head. "This must belong to the village! The thing that'll stop the endless day..." Reinaan said while recalling conversations with the elder. Returning it was the obvious decision as the Earth Chosen said.

Reinaan eventually made his way back outside as the group gathered up what they would from among the auran's things. He took note of the two non-bandage items on his body. The mostly cracked magic amulet about his neck and the fire resistant ring Ryia had given him just prior to his clash with the elemental. The amulet he removed and placed into his bag that was resting atop Kloqah's back. Once Ryia emerged from the rocks he approached her to return it.

"Hey, thanks for loaning this to me and stuff. It sure came in handy." he said with a grin as he extended his hand, palm-up with the ring in it for her to take back.

  3. For all his efforts Reinaan had done little more than leave a trail of his own blood smeared out across the rock. But he had managed to drag himself to his spear which he now needed to use to prop himself up to even just sit to see what was happening. As he turned about he saw Lindow conclude his bout with the elemental. There was nothing left but the skull lying on the ground which alarmingly burst into flames before it burst apart. The Draken boy could hear nothing for a moment but his own ragged breathing as he stared at what was left behind. It was another object like what the snake woman and bandit boss had left. Each had sent a surge of strength into the boy and this one seemed bigger than either.

While the sense of imminent danger was gone, the looming dread still sat heavily in the lizard's heart. The demon gate was still here. And if left alone it was probably going to mutate Kloqah into a horrific monster within the hour if the sharks were anything to go off of. Reinaan thought to call the mount to him but decided against bringing her any closer to its influence. His mind had thought of his salve but no quantity of it was going to stop his bleeding or save the non-existent scales of his left arm. It was all the boy could do to just keep still where he was sitting near the platform's edge. Movement only shifted the bone splinters in his wounds drawing out fresh pain and more blood. Ziiyol hovered about him in clear distress but then Reinaan being hurt was the only thing to elicit such responses from her usual carefree self. He simply focused on his breathing. Every breath meant he was still alive. That was the focus. This continued for a moment until a voice caught his attention. Ryia had ascended the stony steps to see the end results of the fight.

"Pretty sure... it's dead..." Reinaan gasped out between heavy breaths in response to her question. Attempting to talk proved more draining than he'd thought and so he stopped straining to support himself with his spear before slumping down onto the floor face-down.

  4. Ziiyol had begen reforming in the air above where her Draken companion lay. She would normally be laughing but she felt as though their connection had been forced apart rather than Reinaan simply releasing her power. What could have caused that she could only wonder. It took her a moment but eventually here eyes caught her partner. He was sitting up but then that was only because there had been a wall in his way when the explosion of the claws had sent him flying back. There were several deep wounds were parts of the shattered elemental had pierced through his scales, all of them slowly leaking blood down the boy's body and onto the ground. Something seemed off with his left arm in particular. It was still black in color yet it didn't seem to be scaled. And towards the elbow actual pink flesh was visible. His scales started again just above the elbow. It wasn't taking the spirit long to realize what the boy must have done with her power. But what was there for her to do about it?

"Reiny!" she called in alarm as she hovered near. She reached a hand out toward him but hesitated to actually do so. Reinaan meanwhile coughed some, sending jolts of pain through his body from the various puncture wounds. Lindow's words brought some form of sense back to him. The boy was honestly surprised to still be here and wondered why his left arm wasn't hurting. But it only took a glance to realize it was because his scales had been blasted away and the flesh of arm was covered almost entirely in third degree burns. The claws on that hand had been torn apart as well, several now streaming blood into a puddle on the ground as the quick had been breached. He didn't dare try to move the limb but did use his still decent right arm to accept Lindow's shoulder.

"Heh... This? Kill me? It's gonna tak-" the boy struggled to speak. And in fact he didn't have long as Lindow soon left his side entirely. The sudden movement left the Draken unbalanced and his legs gave out on him as he stumbled backward into a sitting position on the ground. Even after Keres' attack the elemental lived and looked to continue its assault. The Thunder Chosen interrupted and began struggling to push it away from Reinaan. The boy wanted to help, but his body and injuries disagreed with the idea. He looked around for his spear. He'd been holding it in his good hand. He caught sight of it near the rock formation's edge. Definitely out of reach. Despite his condition the boy attempted to crawl with his one good arm and his legs towards his trusted weapon. What he thought he could do with it once he had it he didn't think about. He just couldn't leave his own defense entirely to his friends who were each tiring quickly as the battle dragged on.

  5. Lindow's magic had further reduced the flaming skeleton's form. And yet it still moved to attack the Thunder Chosen despite only being a spine and skull. Reinaan used the moment to examine what he could. Water was going to be their best bet and Keres seemed just as aware of that as she prepared an attack. Yet she didn't immediately unleash her attack, making the boy think she lacked confidence in it hitting as things stood. He'd need to stop it from moving in some way. As he examined the spine of the thing he noticed amidst the flames a chip missing in the bone that unknown to the Draken Damien had made earlier. Would cracking the spine further halt its movement? That much he didn't know. But maybe he could do more than crack it. He could feel the time he'd spent combined with Ziiyol straining him.  But this strain gave him an idea. He looked at his left hand for a moment before extending the flame claws off of his fingers.

"I need everything you got Ziiyol..." he thought as he turned to the elemental again. Maybe fire couldn't directly injure this thing but the boy doubted it would hold up well under an explosion. Reinaan charged the elemental from behind, his only goal to thrust the flaming claws into the chipped section of the spine. He'd push every ounce of Ziiyol's power out that he could. He'd make the backfire explosion happen. He'd take the injury to his hand so long as it shattered this annoying monster to pieces.

"Lindow! Keres! Get ready!" he called out as even now he could sense instability in the spirit's magic running through his body.

  6. The Fire Chosen held on despite the growing flames and the exertions of the creature he clung to. He could tell this wasn't sustainable as the ring and amulet were the only things preserving his life. But still he clung to it as he wrapped his hands around the closest bones. Reinaan pulled and struggled amidst the flames, attempting to dislodge whatever bone he could but to little effect. The spear he held would likely fair no better in this effort. But still if he could impair the thing's movements at all and give the others the opening they needed he'd do it.  Keres took action first and doused the torso of the creature with her water magic. Lindow went in for a strike to the exposed portion of the bone. The Draken more felt the man's words than heard them as he realized the attack that was incoming. Right as Lindow closed the gap, Reinaan kicked off the creature's back and away from it to avoid the coming surge of electricity. His landing was less than graceful but it was better than the alternative. His inability to injure the thing directly frustrated him and so he readied himself for when the area was clear of Lindow's discharge. Whether by spear or claw he intended to run the monster through if it survived the Thunder Chosen's attack.

  7. The cracking of the shark's spine continued well until it had snapped roughly in half. However, Gilly had still taken a hit from the upper half. The fall was broken by her companion but the two seemed down for the count. Ryia was hurrying over to their location. The boy stabbed the helpless upper half of the creature through the skull to put it out of its misery before retracting the flame claws, the flames dancing along his arm until they returned to his core. Stray sparks resumed jumping off the Draken's body as the fire spirit's power returned without shape into the center of his being. Not long after Reinaan heard his name and turned to see Ryia who seemed fairly battered. The girl called attention to the fires atop the stone structure and given the heat the boy had felt while not even being directly there he took her words to be true. The Earth Chosen removed a ring from her finger and presented it to him before assuring him she'd look after Gilly and Hob.

"This resists fire doesn't it?" Reinaan pondered aloud as he accepted the gift from Ryia. He slid it over one of his claws, and after pushing a bit to get it onto his actual scales on the finger he felt for the first time he could almost shrug off the desert heat. Between this and what was left of the amulet he figured he had a pretty good shot at handling that crazy auron's flames. All of the sharks had fallen. For the time being it seemed safe to leave Ryia here. Still, as injured as she, never mind Gilly or Anis' conditions, the boy didn't feel right just taking off. But what could he do? He knew the Earth Chosen could take care of herself. She'd proven a capable warrior from their very first fight together at the Council's tower.

"I'll be back soon." he said simply as he took off running toward the stone structure again. For a moment, the thought of how long he was going to sleep after this crossed his mind. But he was fast to push it away as it would do nothing but call attention to his fatigue at this point.  The heat grew more intense as he finally began ascending the stone steps again and approached the raging fire at its summit. He returned to Kloqah's side. She hadn't moved much since first arriving on the stone. The irritation from earlier was still present, it was stronger even. The Draken had left all of his weapons on the mount while aiding Ryia and Gilly. Thinking of his next opponent's mastery over fire, he thought it unwise to use a magical fire weapon against him and so he began rummaging through his things when Kloqah snapped and actually caught the boy's hand between her teeth. The bite wasn't very hard but she was growling intently as if she'd meant to draw blood.

"Don't do this girl. I'll stop what's bothering you soon." the boy said and stared with deadly seriousness into the mount's eyes. She released his hand as he found his trusty spear from home. It was comforting to hold it again after attempting to use Kha's great sword earlier to little effect. He thought for a moment if he ought to release Ziiyol or not but decided against it as the process often took his stamina and adrenaline highs with it; neither of which he could part with safely at the moment. Looking at his ways up and recalling the way the mage had attacked them before, he figured he'd run right into the line of sight of their enemy if he charged straight up. What this needed was an element of surprise. And so the boy took to working his way around to the monument's north side while also ascending. Once his eyes peeked over the edge the image before him nearly made him lose his grip. Gone was the auron and its place a half-flaming skeleton. Keres, Lindow and Damien all seemed to be okay for the moment. The demon gate was close by and the sense of dread seemed to be mounting within the boy at this close proximity. Still, the hunter had a target and that was enough to help him focus.

"Now!" he thought to himself as he saw it lunge forward at Keres. The Draken charged and jumped into the creature's flaming back, looking to slam it down into the ground before it could hurt the girl.

  8. As Reinaan approached the final two Chosen still on the desert sands the sharks were already taking action. Both made use of their different weapons to fend off attacks. The strange forms the sharks had taken due to the demon gate's influence had their lower halves in the sand while their jaws launched out to attack. This exposed the spine and made it the most obvious place to attack if this was ever going to end. Ryia seemed to keenly aware of this fact but the halfling Giilly less so. Thankfully Hob was around and he always seemed to carry the more part of the common sense of the duo. The creature's charge was into the shark's spine and the Draken could have almost sworn in the midst of everything he heard the bone begin to crack. Such a small detail amidst this chaos had no real way of registering with him but he knew well enough what to do as the fish's mouth moved to bite at Gilly's back.

"Behind you!" he called out to the Ice Chosen as he readied his flaming claws. The boy leaped forward to bring the fiery extensions of his hand down onto the creature's spine, just below where Hob had impacted it so as to avoid skewering the sheep or its rider in the process. His free hand grabbed the spine higher up so that he could push the bone up while his claws dug down into them. He needed to at least sever the spinal cord if not outright split the creature in two. In the exertion he gave his best impression of a dragon's roar which caught Kloqah's attention on the steps to the gate for a brief moment.

Well folks, here we are on NCM now. But though our base of operations may have changed the Adventure at hand hasn't! Come brave adventures and resume your journey. The Pokemon world depends on it!

    Premise:

    Spoiler

You used to be human you know. At least, your mind keeps telling you that. Yet if you look at your reflection now it clearly disagrees. You're a Pokemon. But in your mind, beside your name and the idea that you used to be human, there's something else. One more memory that, however vague or clear it is in your mind, has a real impact on you. Whatever it is, it feels to capture the essence of your soul. It's almost like it's your proof. Proof that you you're actually human. Proof you're not crazy. Thankfully, you're anything but alone.

There have long been tales and legends of young Pokemon appearing out of the blue, who claimed to be human. But in the last few years the Pokemon world has seen this phenomena in far greater numbers. There are now dozens of Pokemon running around, claiming the same as you. They were human, they have a name, and that something else. These something else's have come to be known as Core Memories. Reactions of course are mixed among the other Pokemon. Some believe those who make these claims. Others are more skeptic, wondering if perhaps this isn't some strange mental illness sweeping the world. And still many others simply don't care. Whatever you were means a lot less than what and who you are now.

Still, the world is something of a dangerous place whoever you are. There are many beautiful places to explore and discover and treasure to find. To more safely experience the world around them, many Pokemon band together and form exploration teams and guilds to train aspiring explorers. Many a human-turned-pokemon has sought out a guild to join feeling that if there are clues to their situation out there, they'll have to go and find them. These days, one of the most well known guilds around is the Helio Guild set in the gorgeous Thicket Town. Known for it's beautiful weather in a forest clearing, Thicket Town has long attracted Pokemon from all over to come and see if they could enter the guild. It's certainly difficult but well worth the effort as any Pokemon who gets in will tell you.

More recently however, things have become somewhat more complicated. Nature itself seems to have been shaken. Local climates have violently and abruptly shifted, spreading chaos about the world. Deserts find themselves buried in snow, plains have become perpetually overcast and many other such things have happened. Pokemon have shifted about trying to find homes more suitable to them. And in the middle of it all, crime rates have gone way up. The need for rescues and brave explorers have never been greater as the Pokemon try to cope. On the whisper of rumors are the ideas of magical objects that stabilize the climates. The Season Souls. There was little to confirm their existence but the word was enough. Pokemon the world over are exploring and looking for them. And maybe, just maybe, the answer to why all these humans ended up here lies in them as well.

But then, that brings us back to you doesn't it? Where do you fit into all of this? You know, the Helio Guild has been very vocal about helping your cause. That is to say, they want to find out what's causing all of these humans to come to this world as Pokemon. They're not exactly alone in the effort but few guilds have comparable resources to offer. If you want to find something out, that'd be your best bet. Getting in is gonna be tough of course. So many Pokemon try that they now have a biannual recruitment festival with seldom more than six or seven Pokemon making it in at a time. That should be going on soon you know. Ask anyone in Thicket Town, they'll tell you all about it. It's the most fun thing that happens. Especially now that the skies over the Thicket Forest have become perpetually overcast.

Something is stirring in the world. An odd energy seems to fill the air at times. Who or what is causing all this? Maybe you'll be the brave explorer to answer the world's most pressing questions. So, are you in?

    RP Rules:

    Spoiler

-All NCM Site and RP section rules apply. You know 'em. You love 'em. Please live 'em.

-I as your benevolent, tyrannical host have final say on all matters and disputes. In my infinite kindness I will more than likely talk out anything you want to so long as you remain calm and courteous throughout.

-In line with successful precedents thus far established, I intend to post in the IC thread at least once weekly and thus expect the same of you. This is to accommodate busy schedules but also ensure things keep moving. If we ever find the whole of the cast posted up and ready to move sooner than a week I can of course post more. Basically we go as fast as you guys want (within reason) but no slower than everyone once a week.

-On the note of posting schedules, I reserve the right to control/do horrible things to your characters in the event you go an extended period of time without posting and without prior notice and that your character's actions/response are necessary to a situation or they were in a dangerous situation when last you posted. I get that stuff gets crazy at times so just give me a heads up however you choose. Whether that be the discord server, here in the OOC, NCM Message or whatever we have now.

-I haven't exactly determined if I want to limit acceptance or to what number if I do. But know I don't want a crazy number of players as things get unmanageable quickly.

[The original cast quickly shot up to 9 participants other than myself and has since dropped to 6. I may therefore, be willing to accept 1 additional app at this time.]

-Rated PG-16 if ya didn't see the tag in the title. Things might get violent, probably some colorful language, npcs will probably die, your characters could die if you're blatantly stupid with them consistently or just want me to kill them for some reason. So yeah, by no means a dark and edgy RP but we're leaving the room open there. Nothing too explicit of the violent or sexual nature either. Typical RP stuff really.

    App Guidelines:

    Spoiler

-You might notice I didn't include a section for age. People turned into pokemon are vaguely described as showing up as child pokemon so you're young and that's what we're going with. Your human age is less important but can be discussed later in the bio sections.

-Name is pretty basic. You don't need a surname if you don't want.

-Since everyone is a pokemon species is pretty much enough to tell what the characters look like. However I've included the appearance section so that you can describe any deviations from the norm be it colors/patterns/accessories or what have you. You could also include a picture that does this for you if there's some fan art out there you like. If there's nothing outside the norm for your character then simply indicate as much in that section of the app.

-For the personality section I'd like two paragraphs. More is always welcome. I need a good feel of what it's like to interact with your character.

-You'll notice there's two biography sections. As you may recall from the premise your character was a human who came to the pokemon world the rp takes place in through some unknown means. Your character can have been in the pokemon world for as much as a year prior to the rp's beginning so describe what they've been doing since then. If they're meant to be new arrivals then indicate as much. As for the human biography, your character won't actually remember this but it is important for me to know some of their life as a human for plot purposes. A reminder that the human world in question here is basically the world of the mainline pokemon games where there are humans everywhere interacting with pokemon.

-The Core Memory relates to what was spoken of in the premise. Humans-turned-pokemon remember three things: their name, the fact they used to be human, and one other memory that differs from pokemon to pokemon. What this is is entirely up to you. It can range from something as vague as an emotion or sentiment or be something very specific like an experience. Whatever you decide on, know that however clear the memory is your character will not be able to remember what they looked like as a human. Also know that this memory is very close to your character's heart even if it isn't a happy one. Core memories aren't just offhandedly shared with strangers or acquaintances but rather require a bond of trust prior to revealing them. They'll be very plot important so have fun.

-Now for moves. Fights will be playing out like other rps you've experienced so there's a variety of basic attacks your pokemon can do. It just depends on their biology and all that. But you still get four moves like in the games. You'll learn more later on and I might let you have more than four but not too many more. Anyway, pick four low level moves to start. You might notice I'm also letting you all have a Z-move. This can be the generic type-specific one or the unique ones if you're the corresponding pokemon. That said, I will allow you to create your own unique z-move if your pokemon of choice doesn't already have one. Whatever you go with, don't expect to use them much more than like once a day or whatever. And no you won't one-shot boss fights with them I just figure the flashiness will be appreciated. You won't have them for a while anyway as they've gotta be explained IC and then you guys will have to go on a mission to find some z-crystals.

-The Ability is just like in the games. Pick one of the abilities available to your pokemon of choice. We'll iron out how it works in this setting in discussion.

    The Helio Guild:

    Spoiler

    Guild Master: Heliolisk
-Something of an enigmatic figure, the leader of the Helio Guild is anything but physically imposing. Yet his name and the guild name carry weight the world over. He doesn't make many appearances outside of the guild yet is often found within its confines. He is polite and courteous to any Pokemon upon first meeting them though he has a habit of making up and sticking to nicknames for most guild members however much they may dislike it. It's a sort of judgment and changes to one's nickname can give one an idea of what the guildmaster thinks of them. Granted it's a bit of a complicated code to decipher. Still he's usually a happy soul that brightens the mood of the guild. A world renowned explorer like him is sure to whip any hopefuls into shape.

    2nd In Command: Noivern
-Heliolisk's right hand woman is Noivern. Typically speaking she is all business and rather strict, especially to new members. She is in the most contact with Heliolisk and enforces his rules and decisions on the guild. She's been his partner as an explorer for a very long time now and the trust between the two is plain as day. Assuming one isn't shirking their duties they'll find her approachable and helpful though always on the stern side of things. She will bring attention to faults as she sees them and advise actions against them. Mistakes irritate her but she can forgive them. It is blatant violations of rules that will bring out the fury in her. Angry Noivern lectures will increase in volume and frequency until all the subject can feel is their eardrums about to burst. Despite all this, there is an underlying care for the guild members in everything she does.

    Senior Guild Members

(Those who have essentially become Heliolisk's partners and help administrate the guild, help oversee training of recruits, and lead major expeditions)

-Sandslash: One of Heliolisk's first wave of recruits, now a senior member of the guild. Sandslash is rough around the edges and seems generally unapproachable. Gets easily annoyed with overly energetic or overly shy kids. He is the combat expert of the guild, and has claimed the most bounties of any member in the guild's history. His signature combination is Sandstorm and Dig, a strategy that often knocks out outlaws before they ever saw him. He's missing a few quills on his lower back and a scar now takes their place. The cause was a fight with a well known outlaw Skarmory who had been kidnapping children from several villages. It is not impossible however to build some sort of emotional connection with him but it will be rather indirect to start on his end.

-Mudsdale: Already an established solo explorer herself, Mudsdale came to the Helio guild seeking connection with the resources available to the institution. She is in charge of maintaining the base and managing the supplies. The basement is her territory and Arceus help you if she catches you down there without permission. While strict in her official duties, Mudsdale has a light heart and jovial nature. Among the senior staff she has the most blatant soft spot for new recruits and will be the one most likely to spoil them with extra treats or slightly easier training for the day. She's known to give rides to places if asked nicely.

-Buizel: A graduate of about a year now, Buizel is the newest addition to the senior staff. His responsibilities are over providing the daily dinner for the guild members and maintaining the bulletin boards with up to date information on requests. He's not nearly as old as the other members and thus feels a bit out of his depth. He more readily relates to the recruits, not being too terribly older than some of them. He's got a real creative streak to him. His meals always have a professional appearance to them and the bulletin boards are kept neat and visually appealing. This comes with some perfectionist tendencies, at least in his duties and passion projects. Secretly rivals the local Smeargle in painting ability but isn't confident in his work and doesn't often show it off.

-Audino: A friend to Noivern and Heliolisk prior to the formation of the guild, Audino has long served as the guild doctor. She keeps good track of every guild member's health and is always advising them on what they could and should be doing to keep healthy. She'll dote on sick or injured guild members enough to rival their mothers. Unless of course the injury was brought about by the pokemon's own stupidity. Then there's lectures involved. Audino's deep empathy makes it easier for her to gauge the emotions of those around her. Fronts and facades are difficult to maintain in her presence as a result. She always seems nice and happy but one can occasionally catch glimpses of something deeper. Like some sort of hidden secret past. But you're probably just imagining it.

    Junior Guild Members

(Those who haven't graduated yet but are further along the program than the cast, help new recruits out on harder missions)

-Growlithe: The most popular girl and leader of the little four man clique that is this squad of Junior members, Growlithe is confident in her abilities and will be sure everyone knows it. She is very supportive of newer members so long as they recognize her superiority and praise her sufficiently. Granted this front drops around the guild officers, particularly Noivern who wouldn't tolerate it. Her squad's well accomplished hence the trust the staff give them in helping training newcomers.

-Tyrunt: Growlithe's childhood friend and biggest fan. The two were the original duo and entered the guild together only to meet and join up with Blitzle and Skiddo down the line. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and easily excited. Never touch his food though. He has big issues with it. And not aggressive issues either, he's a big germophobe and hates the idea of getting sick.

-Blitzle: The team strategist and more subdued member of the squad. She focuses on tactics and precision over brute force. She can quickly size up the available skills in whatever group she's in and form viable strategies from the information. She has a love of music and is often scratching down notes of tunes that pop into her head. Rarely she'll go so far as to attempt to compose a piece off one of the ideas. Doesn't handle kids super well but does her best to help as she's needed.

-Skiddo: This goat has no filter and will say mostly whatever comes to mind in most circumstances. While not one to get philosophical, Skiddo seems to possess a vast amount of sensible life advice as taught to him by his father. Be ready for "Papa always said" in abundance. He and Blitzle roomed together upon joining the guild and became good friends as time went on, eventually forming a fearsome four man squad with Growlith and Tyrunt. Skiddo focuses on being well supplied and carries more than his fair share of the load in any exploration effort to free up his more talented friends.

    Base Description:

On the south side of Thicket Town there is a hill just before the clearing ends, with trees beginning again at the back side of the hill. At the foot of the hill is an entry way that looks like a giant heliolisk head. The guild base itself is the inside of the hill that has long since been hollowed out. There are plenty of windows in both the walls and ceiling to let sunlight through. On the hill top are several fire pits that are lit every night. There are several floors inside the guild and it is built to accommodate many different size of Pokemon.

    Ground Floor:

-Once cleared by the guards manning the gates, any Pokemon, guild member or not, can enter this floor. Here will be found the job boards for exploration teams hence it being open to the public. These boards are regularly updated by the guild and contain requests for rescues, explorations, apprehending of outlaws and many other similar jobs. Other services offered by guild members will also take place here. When looking to go exploring this is always the first stop.

    Second Floor:
-This floor is used primarily for guild gatherings. There are only two key rooms. The first and largest is the assembly hall where the guild conducts its daily meetings. The second and smaller off to the side is the mess hall where the guild eats dinner together every night.

    Third Floor:
-The third floor is home to the rooms provided for the guild members. The rooms each have several beds in them and not much else to speak of.

    Fourth Floor:
-The fourth floor houses Heliolisk and Noivern's offices and is thus not often visited by guild members unless one or other requests their presence.

    Basement:
-The basement is a large storeroom for the guild's food and other supplies. Not to be played around in.

    Thicket Town:

    Spoiler

There is a large clearing in the middle of the Thicket Forest where a small settlement was made long ago by a collection of grass-type pokemon. It has long since blossomed into a large city where Pokemon come from all over. This is in part due to the town's roughly central position on the continent. It becomes a natural juncture for travels to most anywhere. A lot of it as well was the weather. It was always bright and sunny during the day but never overly hot. And even on the hot days there were trees in abundance all around. The growth really took off when the Helio Guild was established and explorers began flocking to the city to learn from one of the best.

These days, the weather is anything but bright and sunny. There is a perpetual cloud layer obscuring the sun. Still the town has adapted to their cooler, overcast home. This is hardly the worst of the climate changes around the world so the Pokemon simply hope nothing else comes.

    h8hRxmE.png

This is the first of I'm sure many very poorly made maps on my part.

1.) Thicket Forest which surrounds the city and for the most part naturally encloses it. It goes on for miles in any direction and is largely safe to travel through.

2.) Town Square. Big events are held here like the guild recruitment festival. Some official-type buildings are along the perimeter such as a police station of sorts and the town elder's house.

    3.) The Helio Guild

4, 5, 6.)  The North, West and East Gates respectively. While the town is not properly fenced about, these are the most natural entry points and are thus usually given a guard or two largely for formality's sake. The guards more often greet and provide information to visitors than anything.

-Along the depicted gray streets leading from town square to any of the gates or the guild are the shops and services provided by various local Pokemon which can be described more in detail at a later time. The remainder of the clearing is dotted with the homes of the many Pokemon families that live here.

-Not far west of town is the Thicket River which runs through the forest and is the main water supply.

-Underneath Thicket Town is a system of connected tunnels to facilitate the easy movement of ground-type pokemon without disrupting the city. Think of it like a subway with entrances scattered fairly evenly about town and non-ground-types can even go down and hitch a ride for a nominal fee.

    Race: Draken
    Element: Fire

    Appearance:

    Spoiler

    Height (+1 in per small soul, +2 in per large soul): 5'9" 5'10" 5'11" 6'1" 6'2" 6'4"

Weight (+5 lbs per small soul, +10 lbs per large soul): 220 lbs 225 lbs 230 lbs 240 lbs 245 lbs 255 lbs

Other: Reinaan's always been a little on the small side of things for the average Draken. As he's fast approaching proper adulthood he's counting on growing about another foot in the next two years. Ignore the ring of water behind him. Also ignore the red spike thingy on his back because that's probably the start of wings and we don't do wings here. The rest is accurate aside from any weapons/equipment he carries with him.
    pT84bi1.jpg

    Personality:

    Spoiler

Reinaan is full of energy, a mixture of excitement and anxiety. He tries to tackle life and at the same time a lot of it is unfamiliar to him and scary even to an extent. He very much acts based off of what makes him feel good as well as the norms set for him by his people. Eating and exploring and learning make him feel good so he seeks out opportunities that him let do those things. Helping others makes him feel good or at least it did in his village. He comes with a natural longing to belong among those he's with and an apprehension to try and establish the feeling due to never having been around outsiders very often. This leads to some initial reluctance to interact with people of other species since he does not know how to properly act around them. That said even when he does know how to act he's a little slow at adapting to it and likes to act out against new rules for a bit.

The laws of his village taught him that standing by others is essential and so those he befriends can expect him to do just about anything for them. But he doesn't get emotional with friendships, rather much more of a feel-good-bro kind of vibe. Talking about feelings and emotions is super awkward for him so he'd rather just give a thumbs up and a confident smile after doing something for a friend. He doesn't take thanks very well despite the drive to help others out. For his village it was simply customary that all do everything they could for each other. It was part of life and natural. To comment on it and make him out to be some sort of good person for doing what's natural feels very uncomfortable to him.

Reinaan comes with a bit of a chip on the shoulder simply from being on the smaller side of Draken. He has a drive to be strong and thrive. He wants to be strong and to him that means not crying and not losing what's important to you. He'll take hits with a grin trying to keep up the image. He wants to show his village he's worthy of being recognized as a proper adult when the time comes. However suppressing emotions like that isn't a healthy thing. Sadness can take a hold of him rather easily and then it becomes a battle to maintain the strong image while fighting himself inside. This struggle wasn't present in his village where he felt he was truly understood. His unfamiliarity with others combined with irritable tendencies make getting him to really open up to anyone else prove difficult. Not that he won't be friendly and talkative with others but it tends to have a more superficial feeling to it.

Curiosity drives a lot of what he does and has often led to reckless thrill seeking. Sliding down a freshly snow covered mountain on his belly was a good idea to him on several occasions for example. This carries of course to people and other cultures. He'll take a stab into what he thinks proper behavior is then fumble around apologies and readjustments afterwards. While on a hunt or on watch Reinaan becomes incredibly serious and focused. He doesn't talk more than necessary and his mind focuses in solely on what he's looking for. Granted you can still distract him by say getting right up in his face and following him around while he's doing his thing. He tends to get rather grumpy about that though so be warned.

Reinaan is desperate to learn and experience life and judges right and wrong based off of what harm would come to what people. Death is incredibly hard on him and has yet to encounter murder. The very idea of an intelligent being intentionally taking a life is impossible for him to wrap his head around at this point. Magic and other wonders of the world fill him with awe and he's prone to sticking his nose in too deep to things and getting hurt for it.

He likes to get things done and when he knows what needs to be done can be very irritable when things slow him down. His spirit companion's lack of sense of urgency is one common source of irritation for him. If a group is lagging behind for what he views to be "no good reason" he may well yell at them or run off ahead on his own. As much as he seeks company and belonging he loves being on his own too. Experiencing contrasts in life is exciting for him.

    Biography:

    Spoiler

For centuries a small village of Draken has existed nestled away in the northern reaches of the island of Blagos. They have long steered clear of others who would eventually settle the island and their dwellings are among the many caves of the mountains. The Draken here are tied to the fire element and their settlement is lit by torches that appear to never go out. Legend in the village states the founder was one of few magically talented Draken and that he had set up the lights and other such things when first settling the area. There are roughly thirty to forty Draken in the village at any time and over the years they've mastered exploring the miles of caves. They take to the surface while the sun is up to hunt for food and to enjoy the natural light while they can. The island proves dangerous with the many winged beasts that rule the airs but the united strength of the Draken hunters has kept them alive through the years.

Though rightfully viewed as an ominous threat and even worshiped by others, the Draken feel a pull to the volcano on the island. The Doombringer as it is called seems to naturally attract them as creatures of fire. Among the deeper reaches of the caves the village knows where to find magma chutes and will often perform various rituals by the side of one. Births are to happen by the side of the magma if at all possible, funeral services are conducted by them and the corpses of the fallen are laid to rest in the magma itself. Their lives comes from fire and so they must return. When an individual reaches adulthood at fifty years they will have a coming of age celebration all done if possible nearby the magma of the great Doombringer.

And so nearly fifty years ago the village was found deep underground among the caves they had lived in for so long. The whole of the village gathered by the magma which illuminated the area for them. The heat was intense but pleasant to the beings there. A couple was preparing to welcome their first child to the village. Due to the long lives of the Draken and limited resources of the village births were not an everyday occurrence and all wished to celebrate their new brother's arrival. The reaction was mixed when an admittedly smaller than average boy was born. He was named Reinaan Malyol by his parents. The village celebrated but all were concerned for the child's small size at birth and several worried he wouldn't live to see adulthood. His scales were colored black white and red, nothing unheard of but there was a lot more black on him than was usual as well. It raised a lot of concern with the parents as well as the others.

But the years slowly proved that though smaller than average Reinaan had one of the more fiery spirits. A little too much at times even as it took the child some time to learn the ways of the village and stop acting out against the various rules and such. To this day his village still disapproves of his manner of dress seeing as it hardly covers him. It's not like there's anything that really needs covering up anyway... usually. And though they call him indecent, a shrimp, and whatever else the village hardly knows what they'd do without him. The years have proved fairly entertaining seeing what trouble he could get up to. And despite all the things he does Reinaan very much loves his family and fellow Draken of the village and would do anything for them. Naturally this meant he was thrilled to become a hunter and really start providing for the village after a decade or two of growing and learning and helping around the village. The men of the village were of course hesitant to let him but his size had never really slowed him down yet and they needed all the strength they could if he proved capable.

After a few small hunts nearby the village entrance Reinaan was ready to go on his first really dangerous hunt. A longer excursion that exposed the party to more of the winged monsters that abounded on the island. It proved hard and perilous and even the energetic Reinaan soon found it hard to keep going. Everything seemed to be going fine until they were returning back with what they had caught. Returning was usually the harder leg of the journey. The monsters could tell when a kill was made and would want in on it as well. Unaware of the signs that preempted such an attack and tired from the trip Reinaan lagged slightly behind the group and opened himself up for an attack. It came unexpectedly but one of the others reacted quickly and got Reinaan out of the way but at the cost of being gravely wounded himself. The rest of the party arrived and fended off the creature and carried the two back to the village. The Draken who had protected Reinaan lived a few more hours but died from the injuries. Lamentation was taken up among the entirety of the village but none wept more bitterly than Reinaan who cursed his size, inexperience and anything he could think of about himself that had caused the loss of a brother. The funeral was held at the same shaft of the caves Reinaan himself had been born at and the body was lowered into the magma and burned away to nothing.

Much of the rest of Reinaan's childhood was fairly typical. He learned from the loss and honed his skills at hunting for the village and took to exploring the caves with friends. The loss of life seemed to inspire him with a desire to learn more of the world. There had to be more than just simply caves and mountains and monsters and hunting and whatever else. He began learning from the village elders of the other creatures that inhabited the world. Tales of strange creatures known as humans, elves, dwarves and many others. Though he never really caught up to the normal size of other Draken he became a surprisingly strong and capable hunter and was able to safely navigate his way through the mountains to try and see farther away places. It was upon reaching the coast one day a few years ago he first encountered humans. They had come in on a large structure that floated atop the water and were at the base of the seaside mountains. Reinaan looked on in curiosity realizing they had to be some sort of legendary creature the stories the elders told spoke of. Approaching the camp proved to be a bad idea as the men thought him to be a monster. But they noticed him to be wearing some sort of clothing and he also appeared to be attempting to speak to them. Hesitantly the two parties approached and began an exchange identifying Reinaan as a Draken to the men and the men as humans to Reinaan. The men were surprised not at the fact a Draken was before them but that one was out here as they had never heard anything of a Draken settlement on Blagos.

The exchange was so exciting to Reinaan as he told them of his way of life and they spoke of far off places they had been to on their ship. Reinaan warned them of the various monsters in the area and advised them of some safer tunnels to take if they wished to explore the mountains any. He went with them for a bit to see what they were up to. They seemed to think something valuable was in the mountains somewhere but after a few hours seemed to not have found it. Still they thanked Reinaan for the help and gave him the jacket he wears to this day. He was met with strict scolding upon returning to the village not for having contacted humans or even really for traveling so far as much as having done so on his own without telling anyone. They had on rare occasion made contact with outsiders before but the whole of the village had been advised of it and the results of the meeting. That said and the rules laid out the village was awfully curious about the jacket and other such things the humans had given him and once again teased him for his indecency given his style of wearing it.

At this point in time Reinaan is forty eight years of age. Almost an adult and ready to prove himself as such at the coming of age ritual. But fate had other things in mind for him. Not but three days ago while preparing for a hunt with the village Reinaan ran out ahead to scout out the area. Expecting to see various animals moving about the mountains and monsters about the air he was in for quite the surprise as a ball of fire appeared before him. He was entranced as suddenly a woman appeared from it in a flash of light. Embers scattered around the air as what appeared to be a human woman in elaborate clothing came into Reinaan's focus. She introduced herself as a spirit and said that she had chosen Reinaan as her partner. She told him this choice was in part due to her love of the volcano and his people's living so close to it and ability to breathe fire itself. Additionally she had always appreciated his energetic attitude among the Draken here, stating she had long watched him and felt he more than the others reminded her most of her own element of fire. Entirely confused Reinaan ran off but the woman followed. The others were surprised to see him running into the caves instead of out to go on the hunt. He ran straight for the elders to tell them what had happened and noticed the woman had kept pace with him remarkably well. Pointing to her he was surprised to hear that none in the village saw the woman at his side. The others worried as Reinaan spoke to the empty space asking it why no one could see it.

The woman smiled and suddenly made herself visible to the other Draken of the village. The elders were amazed and rushed to their records and legends of spirits. There wasn't much to go on but they knew enough to tell Reinaan to listen to her and do as she asked. Many feared it was the spirit of the volcano and that angering her would cause an eruption. So Reinaan began talking with the woman attempting to gather what all she had to say and wanted. She had no name of her own and requested Reinaan give her one if he desired something to call her by. She spoke of a mission they were to complete together that would require him to go see places far from the caves and mountains that were his home. The others of the village were very reluctant to let Reinaan go. They didn't wish to send a young Draken, not even yet a man, off on his own even if it was the spirit's will. But if ever there was a coming of age rite this would be it. With a bit of a tearful goodbye with his parents and village Reinaan set out with a few others of the village accompanying him and the spirit to be sure they made it out of the mountains safely. Along the way the spirit attempted to show Reinaan some of the powers they would have together which was only slightly explosive and only almost nearly burnt down the side of the mountain. There's a lot to learn and the young Draken's far from home and unfamiliar with many things. But he has a burning passion to see the world and come home to tell his village what it's like outside their home.

    Skills and Equipment:

    Spoiler

    Combat Skills:

-Fire Breath: As a fire based Draken Reinaan is capable of breathing fire. Due to his size Reinaan usually only has about five seconds of fire before he needs a few minutes get some more ready. The stuff he spews moves fairly quickly, is fairly hot and could probably melt metals if he could keep it going longer. It's really good for setting flammable things on fire and can still get metals pretty uncomfortably hot. Naturally not something you want hitting you but unless you sit there and let yourself burn you'll likely be alright. Act too slowly and you can expect some third degree burns however. After a few yards the stream gets pretty dispersed to the point of not being effective for much of anything but within that range probably a good idea to not get hit by it.

-Fight like a dragon: Reinaan's weapons were naturally born with him. He's much stronger than the average human his same height of course but by no means as strong as say an orc. His main method of fighting is a melee approach and often devolves into tussle on the ground with all sorts of biting and slashing at least with things he hunts he's not particularly experienced with fighting other humanoids. Reinaan's tail packs a bit of a punch as well and can knock the average man off his feet provided he wasn't bracing himself for the blow. Reinaan's scales are about as hard as simplistic armor which facilitates the rough up close fighting. The scales are very resistant to burns and somewhat to slashes but can still be pierced with stabbing attacks, arrows and the like and don't hold up well to magic. Nothing he does is by any means finessed but it works well enough for him. His claws are very sturdy and sharp and very good for piercing flesh. Metal not so much, but with enough force they can get the job done. If that doesn't work he's pretty good with a spear and carries one with him. Not exactly dragon-like but you do what you have to to live.

    Non-Combat Skills:

-Heightened awareness: Having had to be a careful hunter all his life Reinaan is very aware of his surroundings and is conscious of slight noises and disturbances in the area that indicate a presence in the vicinity. His ears and eyes are sharp and when focused rarely stays still to continue scanning the area. It's hard to sneak up on him but certainly not impossible especially with a little magic.

-Survival skills: Reinaan is comfortable living off what he can find and hunt and is more than capable of defending himself to boot. Hunting and fishing (with like spears and stuff not lines) come naturally to him as does tracking animals and such. Making fires is sort of inherent to his being so that's not an issue either. Has a good sense of the weather, particularly when it comes to telling the approach of a rainstorm.

-Exploration: With a strong sense of direction Reinaan rarely gets lost when exploring new places. He makes certain landmarks for himself easily and can quickly head back the way he came even if things get dicey and he's gotta get out fast. Caves and mountains are his forte of course.

    Equipment:

-As shown in the picture he has a jacket that he wears more for style than protection of any kind. In fact he'll regularly remove the jacket for various activities to keep it from getting too damaged. There are metal braces about his hands and feet to help protect them in fights and such which he will keep on him more often than not.

-Reinaan carries a small bag with him which contains various sticks, twines and stones that look something like arrowheads. They're meant for quick improvised tools for hunting and such.

-Has a small jar containing a salve in it. It's made by his people and he carries some of the herbs required to make it as well. When applied to cuts it helps the scale layer recover faster to protect the wound though the actual damage will still be getting fixed underneath. Not particularly helpful to non-scaled individuals but it won't stop him from trying if someone's hurt.

-He does carry a simple spear, largely a hunting tool but not impractical for a fight either.

    Other:

    Spoiler

-Wears clothes purely for the cool factor and always inspects what other people are wearing when first meeting them. He'll often wonder why people don't wear things in a cooler manner and suggest alternatives. If his fashion sense is anything to go off of anyone with a sense of decency would ignore any such suggestions. Doesn't sleep with any of his equipment/clothing on so watch out for that. Especially if someone attacks in the night he'll be in a bit of a scramble.

-Sensitive to his size but largely only around other Drakens. Most other people don't know to call him short for his kind.

-Likes to pretend to be a dragon. The whole being a lizard thing and breathing fire doesn't help convince him otherwise.

-Pretty much a pure carnivore. Fruits and vegetables are super gross to him and get him to gag real quickly.

-Loves the feel of the sun on his skin and the feeling of a swim in a cold lake or river. Temperature contrasts in general make him happy. It has to be pretty unbearably hot out for him to complain however cold gets to him a little easier.

    -Hair grosses him out.

-The writing system in Reinaan's village was something more like hieroglyphics and there wasn't a rigid grammar structure. Reinaan was taught to be able to "read" the stories they told and use them to tell his own stories but it's hardly what one would call literacy. Any other language and reading and writing are a fairly hopeless effort for him. He can be quite creative as to what letters and numbers could be pictures of.

    Spirit Information:

    Spoiler

    Name: Ziiyol

    Appearance:

    Spoiler

    Height: 5'8"

Other: There is shown what appears to be a lizard tail however upon closer inspection it appears to be just an elaborate work of clothing and is not actually attached to Ziiyol. That said as everything materialized with her speculation as to whether it's actually clothing or not is largely meaningless.

    Personality:

    Spoiler

Ziiyol is for the most part lighthearted. She seeks to dance with the wind as a flickering flame. She has a mission that much is true but life will blow her where it will along the way. There's hardly ever a sense of urgency with her despite the very important things she speaks of with regards to spirits and the chosen. Heat and fire make her happy while cold somewhat distresses her and water terrifies her. She loves meeting new things of any kind be it sentient life, monster, fellow spirit, inanimate object. Anything that can burn basically. She doesn't seek destruction but finds beauty in it, especially ashes. She's very fond of Reinaan and tends to give what she finds to be cute nicknames to him and others she meets. If she can get angry is so far a mystery to Reinaan and those she's shown herself to. One can only imagine what a magical being of fire would do should it become enraged.

    Transferred Skill:

-Flamberge: Ziiyol's power of fire manifests itself primarily in Reinaan's claws. Upon merging together light and fire can be seen surging between Reinaan's scales and Reinaan is able to extend powerful flames off of his claws. These in essence flame claws extend two feet past the ends of his claws and can cut and sear through flesh and other soft substances. Metals can be cut as well but time and focus is required and the skill's difficult to maintain. Reinaan can only manifest the claws on one limb at a time. Should they be active on a hand they have to be removed from that hand to move to the other or either foot. The change is quick but also telegraphed in that the fire can be seen traveling across Reinaan's body to the next limb to use the power. Reinaan struggles to control it and easily sets things on fire he didn't intend to while they're active. He can usually only keep them out a few minutes before having to retract them or the spell starts blowing up in his face. Burns from the recoil are internal making his tough scaly exterior rather ineffective in preventing the damage.

The experience merged is quite the rush for both parties. Reinaan's senses go into overdrive, not necessarily getting better but more vivid. His emotions and passions flare up with it and it creates a sort of sensory overload. He acts a bit more animal like but is still himself. Upon separation he comes away from the experience a strange mixture of tired confused and sometimes even aroused (a bit embarrassing for him). Ziiyol loves the sense of actually being able to physically experience the world through Reinaan's body and her excitement builds throughout their time together. Upon separation she remains giddy and excited for some time.

    Personal Skill:

-Blistering Waltz: Ziiyol can perform a sort of dance which will produce one of two flames at the edges of the fans she holds. Red flames are normal fire and just burn things. Green flames attempt to burn magic and that's a dangerous game to be certain. Her dance isn't very far reaching, requiring targets to be within a few yards to be of any effect. And attempting to burn magic more often than not creates unpredictable explosions of fire and whatever element it's clashing with rather than actually disarm any spell. It is strongly advised against coming to Ziiyol for like removing curses or anything of the sort. The flames summoned last for only a few minutes. Red flames are capable of igniting paper, dried plants, clothing and other such similar things. Green flames are usually extinguished on their own by the resulting explosion of magic. In either case the flames will disappear when the dance ends so things that are on fire will spontaneously stop being on fire. Producing both types of flames simultaneously shortens the dance to a single minute and makes the green flames more unstable (big boom gets bigger).

    Other:

-Is always dancing. Or at least a lot of the time. More than walk she sort of gracefully spins and tumbles through the space. Play or sing any sort of music around her and she won't be able to help herself.

-It's hard to tell how aware she is of her appearance and how humans could well view it as rather attractive. She seems mostly oblivious to it. Mostly.

-Will often grab hold of random objects and see how much heat it takes to set things on fire. Often being unable to do so on her own she'll suggest Reinaan help her which usually leads to a little bickering. In any case, keep important documents away.

-To those who can interact with spirits Ziiyol's touch feels like a gentle warmth rather than anything remotely physical. Reinaan's awfully fond of it not that he'd admit it and Ziiyol knows it and teases him about it.

  11. Howdy folks!

Just an old relic of the RP section here. The old lurking grounds been dead for a while now but then I catch wind of a new version so figured I better check it out to see if I'll be taking up lurking here too.

Also I think Cow would have probably threatened me with horrible things happening to my characters eventually if I didn't register and show up. Cow on fictional character violence is a serious issue and one we can't turn a blind eye to.
