Questions About Status Bar Rules

1. Do not post a status while you have one of the 5 most recent statuses.
2. Do not post a status more than once every 20 minutes.

With how the Recent Status Updates operate, having both these rules seems redundant. In the majority of cases, the first rule seems to cover the second, though the function of Recent Status Updates makes the first rule troublesome. For example, my main status and my profile comment to CowCow show up when they didn't on the main page of YCM.

So I ask, why are both rules needed? Is it for the minority case of Status Bar chaos? I think these two rules should be rethought given what we know now. As for suggestions, I'm not entirely sure.

The rulings that have been put in place are "bare bones" and do need additional work if the general consensus feels is that of certain rulings being unnecessary then we can certainly look at how things are.

In this case, yeah it's there to stop people filling up the status feed with spam basically.
