So with no 3DS games announced for a while and none on the horizon other than the swan song Persona Q2, the 3DS is probably done. The 3DS was so so great, like seriously, it had so many extremely good games like SMT4, Zero Escape, Bravely Default, FF Theatrhythem, KI: U, RF4, Luigi's Mansion 2, games that created a whole fandom on their own like Fire Emblem Awakening and Senran Kagura, redefining sequels like the new Pokemon games, great ports like XB and others and just awesome new/unique sequels to longrunning series's like Monster Hunter, Metroid, Etrian Odyssey, Zelda, Mario, Kirby, Ace Attorney, Metroid, Warioware, etc, etc, like it just did so much of everything and it did it all super well.
Fire Emblem Awakening is ESPECIALLY big, bringing back a whole series that was permanently niche and releasing many further sequels that are also liked and spawning a huge fandom with how 10/10 just one game is is the stuff of legends.

I love the 3DS, and I still feel like I haven't gotten nearly enough out of its library. Fire Emblem Awakening shows what a powerhouse the system was, and after the Wii U flopped, it was great to see that Nintendo tried to give some games new life on the 3DS. I've said this a bunch of times, but the dual screens are a huge part of why I hope the Switch doesn't completely supplant the 3DS. The dual screens really need to be retained somehow.
Just checked that Persona Q2 will be out in June, and yeah, that looks like a fine swan song. While the system will likely be discontinued either some time this year or the next, it's had a pretty great run.
