I googled pokemon and one of the first results that showed up was that the switch emulator yuzu now runs LGPE almost perfectly, it's just missing shaders. I'm pretty sure this is literally the first time a pokemon gen game was(likely) emulatable right on release.
I haven't played any 3DS pokemon games, btw, I finished BW2, but I only played USUM for like 5 minutes and got annoyed by cutscenes and lost interest/moved on. I still have it, though, and I hear it has like twice the featuers and minmaxing of BW2
