  It was less of an accident and more of an eventuality. Poor Healthcare outside of Beijing, coupled with open-air meat markets with no refrigeration being commonplace across the country, and immoral use of last-resort antibiotics in animal feed that promotes resistance. Then the party's usual suppression tactics gave the virus more than enough time to escape beyond its control. Now they are panicking, and try to blame their political rivals for something they caused.

  I meant specifically the "it's now infecting the entire goddamn planet" part being on purpose. Scare the planet with a pandemic for a month or two and everyone will forget about Hong Kong.
