pretty much the above. Also we're as a whole getting older and having less time to dedicate to this place, and not picking up new people while that's happening. Is what it is. The place we talk is pretty immaterial, at any rate.

To further emphasize. RP has Discords for each RP and those tend to be fairly active. Especially ones with the right combinations of people.
There's only so many things that work better on forums. RPs Polls to an extent. Certain games and AMA type stuff.
