I like this one, seems fun to me. Encourages decks that mixes the aforementioned types and can be really potent with lucky excavations, even better if the monsters you run have Quick or on-Summon effects. And being a Trap keeps it fairly slow, IMO.

My only issue is the wording. "Immediately after this card resolves" clause is mainly used to perform non-effect actions like a Normal/Synchro/Xyz/Link Summon, so there is no need to use it for the follow-up effect of this card. You should just write it all together with the excavating effect and remove the clause. It may come off as convoluted and less PSCT-friendly, but that's the correct way AFAIK.

K I removed that clause... And just replaced it with the word "Also,". After looking at other excavation effects... Though I haven't seen that written after bullet point effects or listings before. Maybe I am missing a good example there.

  2. In terms of knowledge gaining... Yeah I'd rather run Mind_Haxorz or The_Eye_of_Truth. I mean I get it.... It is suppose to do more than just gain knowledge when going mirror (as previously mentioned) or running very similar generics to your opponent, but I don't really play Decks where a mirror would be all that common for me personally. In any other situation it is usually just a worse Respect_Play. The only true redeeming quality of card is the art's continuation of the lore of Pikeru/Curran rivalry with a more dynamic focus.

  3. Love, hate relationship with this card. What I love: Her banish effect is pretty unique and it can bypass once per turns of Spells you banished... What I hate: But, at the same time, I am not sure if it is all that optimal for Witchcraft as you no longer get to recycle the Spell you banished during your End Phase. Seems one would only one to use this effect if they have to... But, I guess in the end the GY effect is optional and it is there when you need it, and she does what the other 3 small Witchcraft do.

I prefer the other 3 small Witchcraft GY effect wise. This seems like a 1 of to me.

  4. Artifact Lucerne

    LIGHT

    [Fairy/Link/Effect]

    Link Rating: 1
    Link Markers: S
    ATK/ 1000

    1 Level 5 "Artifact" monster

You can also Link Summon this card by using 1 Set "Artifact" Spell card you control whose original card type is Monster as material. When this card is Special Summoned: Add 1 "Artifact" card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Artifact Lucerne" once per turn. (Quick Effect): Tribute this card and target 1 Set card  on either player's side of the field; destroy it.

    Next Card:

A Link monster with a Link Rating of 3 that  only uses Normal monsters as material (Not Tokens)

@BGMキャノン It's supposed to represent the new year. Picture-wise, I thought of it as an amorphous version of a Zoodiac mid-transformation into a different Zoodiac (hence the effect and limitation). It's name uses "Armory" rather than an individual weapon to also fit into this.

Ohhh I see. Well that ties in well with its effect as well considering it would be the toolbox of the archetype. Pretty creative flavor choice given the limitations. ?

  6. Only thing you need on this thing is the type. Which would allow us to review this to some extent... But, it is a high Level Normal Monster. So in most case there usually is little to review there unless the Leveling/Stats/Typing combination is really unique and/or beneficial. Or if this is a Tuner or Normal Pendulum.

  7. For flavor purpose what aspect of the Chinese Zodiac is this suppose to represent? We ran out of 12 of Chnese Zodiac animals to represent. So I am not sure where one would go from there to relate to the general theme. Other than maybe a few other animals that in the non-Chinese variant of the Zodiac such as the Cat in Vietnam... Can't remember if there were anymore...

I can see this is an Unexpected_Dai target as well as a Rescue_Rabbit target... The latter offering more ways to pull more other Zoodiac into your Xyz's mat pool since their isn't a hard once per turn or any other restrictions. It should also be noted that Zoodiac_Tigermortar can also recycle this one's effect to pull even more Zoodiac variety into your Xyz's mat pool. While this all would greatly help out the recently crippled Zoodiacs, I am afraid this design would be a deterrent from unbanning Zoodiac_Broadbull and Zoodiac_Drident. Ultimately Zoodiac's would want there engine and boss right now. XD

  8. Pays homage to Rex Raptor obviously. He never got around using all that many effect monsters, did he? XD

It is pretty cool wording on the application of the effects in which you can get both bulleted effects from revealing Level 5 or higher. I might have to borrow bits of it somewhere down the line.

The effects aren't ground breaking by any means, but if one is willing to go the extra mile to get both effects you can run Fossil_Dig and Summoner's_Art to get your Level 5 or higher Normal Dinosaur more consistently. And be able to float into it when this guy dies.

Although, it probably won't see all that much play given Normal Dinos aren't the most sought after Deck in the world, I can appreciate this tribute to Rex's old school Deck.

Oh and one more thing, for flavor purpose you could include revealing a Normal Dragon as well as floating into it when it gets destroyed... Considering Rex in the anime for some reason was the original owner of Red-Eyes_B._Dragon and Serpent_Night_Dragon.

    Normal Trap
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; while that target remains face-up, your opponent's Deck is turned upside-down. A monster Tribute or Ritual Summoned by Tributing the targeted monster, or Special Summoned from the Extra Deck using the targeted monster as material, gains the following effect.
    • At the start of the Battle Phase: Destroy this card, and if you do, you take damage equal to its ATK on the field.

I am curious... Flavor wise, is this related to one of Ishizu_Ishtar cards: Blast_Held_by_a_Tribute. It seems to pay homage to her "prophetic" powers and the fact that she tried to use that card against Kaiba.

Anyways, I like the built in "Convulsion of Nature" effect as it gives you knowledge of what to expect. Last effect is nifty as it can put your opponent in a stand still for their Link monsters that used what ever you targeted, and it can kill your opponent or prevent them from battling in the event that they summoned something that has ATK over there current LP.

  10. I see so the name change effect is to make the respective "Metal" counter parts of the Normal monster you sent more accessible to Summon. It is a shame the "Metal" monsters are just beaters though. XD I am even more disappointed that we haven't got Heavy_Metal_King yet. I mention this because in the event that we ever get it, its non-"Metal" counterpart, Musician_King, is non-Effect Fusion, not just a Normal Monster... So may want to emphasize sending a 1 Non-Effect monster from your Deck Extra Deck or GY just in case.

    Field Spell
When this card is activated: You can add 1 "Gate Guardian" from your Deck to your hand. When a monster is Normal Summoned/Set: You can place 1 "Suijin", "Kazejin" or "Sanga of the Thunder" from your hand or Deck face-up in your Spell/Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell. Cards placed by this effect can be Tributed to Special Summon "Gate Guardian" through its own method. If "Gate Guardian" you control would be destroyed, you can banish 1 Level 7 monster from your GY instead.

While anything would be good for Gate Guardian and his trio of outdated misfits... And this is certainly no exception: it is great for what it does. But, I feel this is a bit too straightforward for my taste. It essentially gives any Deck that is capable of Normal Summoning/Setting a big beatstick with multiple destruction prevention. Personally, I would rather see multiple archetypal support for these that would facilitate getting out the trio quicker and perhaps even a retrain of Gate Guardian than just 1 generic card consolidated for the purpose of just getting out Gate Guardian for any Deck.

On to what can actually be done with this card though. And because there is no once per turn here: You could technically run Decks capable of multiple Normal Summons like Hunder to get more copies of the trio from your Deck if you have any which could be used for fueling a few things for crazy hybrid Decks (e.g. True Draco, Scrubbed_Raid , etc.).

  12. Bump. Added a seemingly redundant clause: " While this card is face-up on the field, " on the gained Continuous effects from Graffighter Main Deck monsters to emphasize that they are non-lingering continuous effects. Reason being that because "Graffighter Tagrey" and "Graffighter Tag - Vandalism" are Spell Speed 2, they can target Normal Spells/Traps and Quick-Play Spells and give them specific effects which I thought would lead to controversy in ruling. People may believe that those effects that the Normal Spell/Trap or Quick-Play Spells would gain would be lingering meaning some of those effects could last the remainder of the Duel once those cards resolved which would be problematic and broken beyond repair.

Also, changed up "Graffighter Versenic" destruction prevention effect so that it wouldn't send the card whose effect was changed to the GY. How it is written is understandably weird... Borrowed it from Performapal_Gumgumouton.

Also, I just considered something that maybe controversial... How would this Graffighter's changing effect gimmick work with Pendulum Monsters when they are a scale or on the field as monster which effects would it affect? And if I just wanted to clarify that it is the active effect that the Pendulum Card is using whether it would be on the scale or as a monster that changes... Hypothetically speaking, how would I do that?

I had to wait till I was on laptop to check cause didn't know if it was different in CC

And apparently it is. But only in Singles. It's set to only allow the default tags. I'll check with the others before but I think we can make it open instead and just require to put in certain tags.

So any word on whether the feature can get added in CC Singles?

I'm conflicted about this card. Searching for any card is crazy good, but it's opponent-dependent and slow due to being a Trap plus the 1-trun stun. IDK if it's worth to run it, it's only good when going first and that means 1 card less on hand for combos. What's the best you could search for when facing the opponent building a board? Evenly Matched? and Nibiru come to mind, but then the opponent will most likely get negation monsters on board to stop them. Another pick is Dark Ruler No More, but if you are running this to search for a Spell to break the opponent's board in your next turn... you may be better off investing deck space in something else.

Remember this: Symbol_of_Friendship? Me neither... I would rather have this over Symbol of Friendship any day.

Take it for what it is... A good double edged sword.

I love the card... Basically you get to pull a card with possibly the best impact in the situation for the trade off of waiting for your opponent to do something that is pretty common in the game. It seems it is best used with more grindy Decks though given the delay you have to put into it. (e.g. certain builds of Paleozoic, Yang Zing, Altergeist, etc.)

  15. Quinton... Definitely has the short end of the stick with his... Archetype? I don't even know what it is, but we only got 4 Main Deck monsters for him and they have virtually no cohesion with each other nor do they actually have a name. XD ... Dyson Sphere.dek maybe. I mean at the very least this thing can make Rank 9 with not as much set up as all of Quinton's previous cards, but there isn't much that will be using this. I don't know maybe Infinitracker could use this? ... Eh probably not...Only 3 notable Rank 9 Machines: Phantom_Fortress_Enterblathnir , Infinitrack_Earth_Slicer, and...Actually make that 2: Dyson Sphere sucks. XD Beyond me why they didn't just make this generic for any Rank 9.

Machine is there just for flavor. All of Tron's kids use Machine monsters.

It's pretty fucking good support for a bad deck, but you could possibly round out the theme with another member to make a decent engine.

It is still kind of odd considering that none of Tron's kid's Xyz's are accessible by Heraldic Beast given they are either xenophobic or not of same Rank. But, if it makes Heraldic Beast a little more flexible than Normal I guess I don't mind the hamfisted flavor they are going for.

And yeah that is true... When I revisited Heraldic Beast earlier  I kind of forgot how the Main Deck monsters don't really do anything by themselves. XD Their Spells and generic Rank 4 kick starters are what do most of the heavy lifting. XD

  17. Bump. Added "Graffighter Tag - Freestyle" in Spells and "Furious Fumes" in Traps. And changed up "Graffighter Oranchromium" 's and "Graffighter Carbonyx"'s effect to be a little more instrumental to the Decks overall utility. And hopefully made original post a little more friendly to read by eliminating excess Spoilers.

  18. Okay... Now this is great~! With the existence of Time_Thief_Redoer and Time_Thief_Perpetua as the newest addition to the Rank 4 Psychic Xyz you could make a Time Thief/ Heraldic Beast build. It isn't so far off as an idea considering Time Thief is needing more members and this is just an ideal engine for them. It should also be noted we have this to search it out: Augmented_Heraldry (only problem is you can't use either effect of Time_Thief_Flyback on your Time Thief Xyzs while this thing is on the field and your restricted into only being able Summon Psychic Xyz from your Extra Deck during the turns you search with it). Also, another great thing is that you can make PSY-Framelord_Lambda as Link alternative and splash in a Psy-Frame stun engine as well which conveniently has an effect that searches other Psyframes if you use Time Thief Redoer's self banishing effect.

Not sure why Machine was added into the mix, but I'll take that too. Not really a lot of options on this side though. Most your getting out this are few generic Rank 4 Machine Xyz:

    Super_Quantal_Mech_Beast_Aeroboros, Tin_Archduke, Number_27:_Dreadnought_Dreadnoid, and Wind-Up_Zenmaister.

  19. Okay...It is a shame I've yet to see a Link monster for them, but there are a few things to work with here. The most obvious one is that it gives Chronomaly_Nebra_Disk more use of its secondary effect to go into Chronomaly_Chateau_Huyuk which is great; that Xyz was pretty hard to go into at times. The ATK lowering effect I assume is to make use of Number_33:_Chronomaly_Machu_Mech

which is okay I guess... It doesn't really nullify the outstanding problems of the Deck. And gained attack twice effect... Meh.

  20. .... Wow. This Gimmick Puppet still manages to get bad cards. XD It definitely caters to a go second play style which I guess Gimmick Puppets are in the position of doing with their potential OTK strats with Limiter Removal and big Xyz beaters.... But, if you go first with this thing in your hand... Man is your hand 1 step too many on the dead side. Guess the only redeeming thing here is the GY effect since it lingers and it isn't particularly exclusive to Gimmick Puppets (an effect from Gimmick Puppet support that isn't xenophobic in one respect... Imagine that.)

Edit: Wait... Can you still dump 1 "Gimmick Puppet" via activating this without your opponent controller Extra Deck monsters because of the "+1"? If that is the case this a tad better than what I thought. It would give Gimmick_Puppet_Terror_Baby or https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Junk_Puppet something to work with 1st turn.

  21. Gourdian Knot
    DARK
    ✪✪✪✪ (Level 4)
    [Plant/Effect]
    ATK/ 1500 DEF/ 1000

When your opponent's monster declares an attack: You can send this card from your hand to the GY; take control 1 monster your opponent controls other than the attacking monster until the end of the Battle Phase, and if you do, change the attack target to monster you took control of and proceed to damage calculation.

    Concept and Wordplay

    Spoiler

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordian_Knot

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gourd

Gordian Knot + Gourd = Pormanteau

The idea is that this is pumpkin (a gourd) with puzzle piece shaped eyes that has vines tangled up much like the "Gordian Knot" as depicted in Alexander the Great's trial. The "knot" in this case is taking your opponent's monster and using it against them.

  22. I just found another interesting way to use this... So Mermail/ Atlantean, a Deck that usually prefers to go 2nd, has 3 Equips Spells that negate a specified card type (Monster, Spell, Traps) when they resolve: Abyss-scale_of_the_Mizuchi, Abyss-scale_of_the_Kraken, and Abyss-scale_of_Cetus. This trap can be good for Mermail to chain and stun in response to something rather than negate the first thing that activates out of these equip spells mandatory nature.

  23. So while there are a bunch of "Tags" you can put on your cards such as "Written", "Pictured", "Original", etc which is all fine and dandy. But, I haven't been able to make custom tags in CC like I was able to in YCM which I use for the sole purpose of archiving my own stuff so that I could readily access my cards I've made from the distant past in the ever growing depths of the forum. Is there a way to make a custom tag and that I have overlooked it, or do you guys need to add that feature there?

  24. 19 minutes ago, Nyx said:

Which is why I suggested a cost. All those cards have conditions, but none of them have costs. Pay in some way (LP, discard, banish, ect), and still retain its original purpose.

I appreciate your persistence, but perhaps... Darj has a point. My design isn't as good as I thought it was, it shares very similar design to Cold_Wave which I can see now is a red flag that I somehow eluded myself from. Even with a cost it still doesn't escape the fact that it resembles the power of Shock Master as you mentioned and Cold Wave as Darj mentioned... Both which are banned in both formats. I think it is back to the drawing board with this one.
