    My actual most recent gaming experiences are from a weird-ass browser game called Fallen London.

      That game is actually really big, it's by the same devs of sunless seas and sunless skies which are very big and popular, and the game's whole gimmick is that everything is extremely flummoxy, mysterious, and unusual.

    My biggest problem with Dream Diary is Yume Nikki started out in a multitude of diverse and interesting worlds, whereas in Dream Diary three out of seven doors just inevitably leads to the sewers.
