Recommended Posts

Double Barrel Dragon

Level 4

DARK

Machine/Effect

ATK: 0 DEF: 1800

When this card is Normal Summoned: You can flip a coin, up to the number of unoccupied monster zones on your side of the field. For each heads, Special Summon 1 “Barrel Dragon” from your hand with a different name than the other monsters you control. You can only Summon monsters with effects that flip a coin during the turn this effect is used.

Armor Piercing Barrel Dragon

Level 8

DARK

Machine/Effect

ATK: 3000 DEF: 0

You can banish 1 “Barrel Dragon” monster from your Hand or GY to Special Summon this card from your Hand. You can only summon “Armor Piercing Barrel Dragon” this way once per turn. This card can inflict piercing damage. You can flip a coin 3 times, then change monsters your opponent controls to defense position for each heads result. This card can attack all defense position monsters your opponent controls once each.

Over-Under Barrel Dragon

Level 1

DARK

Machine/Tuner/Effect

ATK: 500 DEF: 0

When an effect with an effect that flips a coin resolves and all the results were heads, you can Special Summon this card from your Hand. You can only Summon “Over-Under Barrel Dragon” once per turn this way. This card can attack directly, and if it does, you can flip a coin 3 times. For each heads result, increase this card’s ATK by 500 until the end of the Battle Phase, and if all results were 3, other monsters you control cannot attack.

Grapeshot Barrel Dragon

DARK

Machine/Link/Effect

ATK: 2000 LINK-2

Arrows: Up, Bottom left

2 DARK Machine monsters

When your opponent Special Summons a monster(s): You can flip a coin for each monster Summoned. For each heads result, destroy 1 of those monsters, then if you destroyed all monsters with this effect, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. You can only use this effect of “Grapeshot Barrel Dragon” once per turn.

Gatling Barrel Dragon

Level 8

DARK

Machine/Fusion/Effect

ATK: 2600 DEF: 1300

2 “Barrel Dragon” monsters

You can Fusion Summon this card by shuffling 2 “Barrel Dragon” monsters you control into your Deck. Once per turn: You can target all monsters your opponent controls, then toss a coin for each monster. Destroy 1 monster for each heads result, then if you destroy all monsters your opponent controls, you can special summon 1 “Barrel Dragon” monster from your GY, but only it can attack this turn.

Double Barrel:
Looks average to me. Wants to be NSed but has 0 ATK, and the effect is situational, luck-based, and doesn't make any pluses. As if that wasn't enough, it comes with a Summon restriction. Really, it's only good because it's a "Barrel Dragon" monster to feed Armor Piercing and Gatling Barrel.

Armor Piercing:
Looks good. Easy self-Summon condition, comes with 3000 ATK for beating and has potential to inflict big damage. Would be funnier and better if it inflicted double piercing damage and could self-Summon from the GY as well, but it doesn't really need the buff.

Over-Under:
Looks solid to me. Self-Summoning effect should be consistent enough in coin flip decks. Maybe make it self-Summon from GY as well bu banish it when it leaves the field when it does. Also the attack block seems like an overkill considering the chances of getting 3 heads.

Grapeshot:
The gem of the set, IMO. Link 2 with semi-generic materials make it accessible. It may have a 50% chance of destroying the monsters, but nowadays that can make big differences. Not to mention Orcusts are top tier at the moment and are DARK Machine so they could potentially splash this.

Gatling Barrel:
A contact Fusion, huh. Looks decent for a boss, IMO. IDK if you could get away with an ABC-style Contact Fusion method, though. I find the last effect unclear: it means other monsters cannot attack for the turn? or the Summoned monster can only attack that turn and becomes unable to attack in any following turns?
