mido9 51 Posted January 18, 2019 (edited) Spoiler @Sophia This is the NCM drawing resources, here you can learn to draw, see videos, programs, and etc that could help you. request drawings, learn to draw, get told how to draw, get critique, and etc. Only hand drawn things(from any program) are allowed, so no copy + pasting anything, but you can edit them however you like(warp them, put them in layers, overlay them, blur them, whatever you feel like doing), just not transplanting stuff from the internet. Some graphics programs you could use: Spoiler PC: Paint Tool Sai(Long trial, recommended) https://systemax.jp/en/sai/ Krita(Free) https://krita.org/en/ Clip Studio: https://www.clipstudio.net/en Photoshop(Hail to the king): https://www.photoshop.com/ Mobile: Ibis Paint(simple and easy to use, with lots of tools) Art Academy DS(The one I used for these drawings, just because it's simple and has lessons, it's a rom. It has extremely limited tools, however, so it's not recommended if you're very proficient or confident) Also, link your mobile phone to your PC to draw with it, if you feel like it. Use Chrome Remote Desktop or Teamviewer. A few throwaway tips of mine: Spoiler 0. ? Pick your reference and have it up always?. You can't draw from memory, only the best artists in history or the most dedicated people to specific arts (like the FGO artists) can do that, or people that just want to draw something extremely basic like a wall or something. 1. Draw a reaallllllllly rough outline of what you want to accomplish. Don't put in any details or fine print or facial features or physical features or anything at all, just something as simple as a template for what you want. 2. Pick the colors you intend to use for each part, and try to keep them separate, even a little bit. 3. Color in all the nonspecific parts like the background, big patches of one color, etc, etc and try not to ruin your outline 4. Block in all the specific parts of big objects so you don't flow over(you can color over it again if you mess up later anyway) 5. Color in all the big objects with one color(like yellow, for lemons, or blue for waves) 6. Start adding in the details on your templates(like the clothes of characters, or their hair, or etc, or for lemons the areas that are darker or lighter or etc, or for waves the areas that are shinier or lighter, etc) Videos: Spoiler Art Academy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W5-DLPz2_8 Schaefer art https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewMksAbgdBI A few of my drawings: Spoiler Have fun! Sleepy 234 Posted January 19, 2019 I like it a lot how that lemon turned out, and the wave has a great feel to it. I think you are very good with this pastel chalk style. Are all of them digital?
Hina's Simp 96 Posted January 19, 2019 So, we shouldn't have this thread except for the "Learn to draw part" and "resource" as a source. It makes the rest of the forum redundant and unnecessary. This is focused on drawing, cool, but that is not enough. This removes the need for Shop and Requests section, with "request drawing" portions of this thread. Sure, it is a thread where all of that can be maintained, but there is no reason to do so nor is there any reason to try and make it so. The "get critique" aspect of this is horribly maintained in a forum thread, because of how inconsistent and unfocused the thread is when multiple people are posting artwork one at a time. Or even when there are multiple pieces being posted in the same post. Have separate threads for each work and requests, while this thread can serve as a useful tool for people trying to get into art. It is not a helpful tool otherwise and takes up space. Seriously against this.

That's probably a good idea so this thread doesn't overtake take the whole section. 9 hours ago, Sleepy said: I like it a lot how that lemon turned out, and the wave has a great feel to it. It's also all in watercolor, with paints, water physics, and so on.
