iirc there was a pretty active ace attorney fanbase here. just came to say, i finished dai gyakuten saiban 2 two nights ago. LITERALLY the best that ace attorney has to offer

edgeworth's games are pretty good too but i'm talking about the other spinoff with phoenix's ancestor.
theres so much in it thats just amazing. the backdrop of the british empire and japanese empire's relationship and the racism that's portrayed because you play a japanese exchange student, the way you see poverty in london society and how the mysteries are tied to that, how charming and attractive the characters are especially SHERLOCK HOLMES, and how well-written and plausible all the mysteries are. i also really like this duology's answer to the age-old ace attorney question of 'why search for the truth' that feels in-line with the spirit of the franchise, but also has more nuance. imo its the culmination of everything the series has achieved up to this point.

there seems to be some kind of misconception about what A-1 studios is, or even how anime studios in general tend to work
A-1 itself is an extremely large studio with multiple divisions that each work on different anime. SAO is still airing this season alongside FGO so naturally the staffs working on each are different (not to mention SAO's had a visual upgrade since last season). A-1 also did kaguya from a few seasons if anyone's familiar with that and that's naturally very different from FGO or SAO.
also most anime are heavily made with the involvement of freelancers who are not bound to a specific studio. its actually not that productive to judge how good an anime will be just from knowing the studio. its only with a small number of studios that you can easily predict how it'll be made (for example kyoani because they make a lot of stuff in-house or SHAFT because its director shinbo is almost always involved). A-1 making FGO's babylonia anime is not that impressive. whats impressive are the freelance talents behind this project.

Part 6 is my favorite JoJo part and I'm aware this puts me in the minority.

So I just came back from the anime convention in egypt(2 hours ago, really) and it was the best thing ever. Like legit, it was so much fun and we got so many things and did so many activities and saw so many great cosplayers, the Embassador of japan to Egypt, Masaki Something, showed up cosplaying as mario as the opening ceremony and it only got more stereotypically japany and full of cosplays from there. There were lots of cosplays and random gimmicks for many things there, Joker from Persona 5, the sword from transistor, 9S and 2B from Nier, Himiko and Midoriya from MHA, Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the carribean, the PUBG guy, 3 people cosplaying Cells At Work! stole the show. There was an overwhelming amount of Fortnite, PUBG, Naruto, One Piece, League of Legends, MHA, Tokyo Ghoul(this was almost as popular as Naruto there, unironically). There were tons of things on sale for astronomically low prices, like neither me nor nour(my sister, who I went with) expected all the merch and posters to cost as little as they did and be as varied as they were, and it was awesome. I will post a write up with many photos tomorrow, or the day after(when the cosplay show is uploaded, basically, so you can see how much was on display).

Breath of the Wild's weapon degradation system docks it like 20 points on a 5 out of 5 rating system, how did anyone give it beaming reviews on switch without the infinite durability mod? Especially since the reward for many things is weapons which degrade, and it makes many battles that wouldve been big challenges gear checks/makes even small encounters need to be avoided sometimes.
