Managed to do a solo Zangoose run of Emerald, beating Wallace at level 69, and Stephen at 73. Steven was annoying because of Skarmory. Couldn't Toxic me which was good, but Zangoose needs 5 turns to kill Skarmory, 3 for Swords Dance and 2 for Return. Tate and Liza were also annoying as double battles in a solo run are a pain. Getting Swords Dance super early though made most of the game trivial.

Seviper could be fun, probably harder due to a shallow move pool and only Double Team as a stat booster. The better Sp.Atk and access to Earthquake is a boon, since Zangoose's best move against Steel and Rock is Dig, since Brick Break is locked behind the Trainer Hill stuff, and 60 base Sp.Atk isn't good enough late game for the type coverage Zangoose has.
Anyway, done a Rayquaza run, and obviously preformed better in pretty much everything apart from Roxanne and Glacia. Needed to be level 15 for Roxanne since that was when I could 1 shot the Geodudes, as the Nosepass will out speed if I am hit by 2 or more Rock Tombs and the Nosepass takes at least 3 hits of Twister; and Glacia requires the first Seleo to cooperate and use Hail turn 1 instead of Ice Ball, as I needed 3 Bulk Ups/Dragon Dances to KO the Walrein, could've used Thunder/Thunderbolt, but I needed Dragon Claw for Drake, and Earthquake is just better against Sydney and Phoebe. Steven took a bit of trail an error, but after picking up Substitute the Skarmory was a joke, and the only other issue was Claydol since it was a 2 or 3 hit KO with Surf. Would've been nice if Rayquaza could learn a move to boost it's Sp.Atk, or Dragon was classed as Physical.
