  1. Serplight is an Archetype of Sea Serpent/DARK monsters with various Levels, but mostly consisting of Level 5 monsters. They focus on Normal Summoning monsters without Tributing them, and gaining effects should you do so. Each of the Level 5s have an effect that discards them, and one that works if you Normal Summoned them without Tributing. Along with that, they combine themselves with both a Level 5 Synchro and a Rank 5 Xyz Monster as well, which is slightly weird, but they can boost themselves should you do so. They have later gotten Level 7 support as well, in form of a Main Deck, Synchro and Xyz Monster. Their name is a portmanteau of Serpent and Plight, or if you wish, Blight works as well, and they live in swamp areas and they are mysterious monsters that drag people into the water. Main Deck Monsters: Serplight Bogling Sea Serpent/DARK/Tuner Level 2 If you control no monsters in your Main Monster Zone: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from your Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Sea Serpent monsters. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 "Serplight" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Serplight Bogling". You can only use each effect of "Serplight Bogling" once per turn. 400/400 Serplight Swampling Sea Serpent/DARK Level 3 When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Serplight" monster from your hand, but its ATK and DEF are halved, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from your Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Sea Serpent monsters. You can only use each effect of "Serplight Swampling" once per turn. 500/1000 Serplight Wetling Sea Serpent/DARK Level 3 You can target 1 "Serplight" card you control; return it to the hand, and if you do, Special Summon this card from your hand. You can only activate 1 "Serplight Drowning" per turn.
  2. Here's an interesting little Continuous Trap that is able to negate end the Battle Phase in two different ways. So, when your opponent targets a monster you control for an attack, you get to either an effect that negates the attack and ends the Battle Phase and makes your opponent draw a card, or power up your monster, but your opponent can then choose to negate the attack and end the Battle Phase, making the choice of them ramming into a monster, but getting to keep attacking afterwards or to stop the Battle Phase, leaving your monsters powered up and protected, so this card really plays with both players.
  3. Been a while since I have made a Pendulum Synchro, so here's a Level 9 monster that is based around Attributes! Its material requirements require different Attribute non-Tuners, but don't get discouraged by that, since you want as many different Attributes as you can to boost this card with new effects! As it's LIGHT already, you get the effect that makes you able to put it in a Pendulum Zone if it would be destroyed, and if it's DARK, you can destroy a card your opponent controls, if it's FIRE or WATER you get to boost its ATK, if it's EARTH or WIND it cannot be targeted by card effects or Tributed. In the Pendulum Zone, you get to send 2 or more Pendulum Monsters from your Extra Deck to the GY to Special Summon it again and gain those Attributes, so it never really dies!
  4. I recently backed up all my old Archetypes, and I looked over some of my old Archetypes, and that made me want to update, as many were made before Link Monsters were introduces, which changed the game quite a bit. So, I decided to start with the oldest Archetype I have backed up, I probably won't do every single one, but just the ones I find interesting or feel like needed an update. I also include the original version, so you can see the differences. Retrospecter is an Archetype of Zombie/LIGHT Archetype with various Levels that focuses on Synchro Summoning, shuffling your cards back into the Deck, and they can all Special Summon themselves from the GY by discarding a Retrospecter monster, where most gain a new effect should you do so. Newly have Link Monsters as well. The name is a portmanteau of Retro, Retrospect and Specter (as in a ghost), which all reference how the cards are based on old-school gaming consoles and related concepts, where the monsters are each based on the various generations of consoles. 5. I made a Code Talker Deck with some of the somewhat recent support it had gotten, and I felt like I was missing another EARTH monster, as well as something I could use in the GY and that banished easily for Balancer Lord, and I wanted something that could get monsters out without having to Normal Summon them as much, so here's a card with below 1200 ATK for Code Generator, Level 2 and EARTH that does all of that.
  6. Finally finished backing up all my archetypes!

  7. It's been a lot of fun to go back to the original YGO series, I remember both so much and so little, and of course the Japanese version got plenty of differences too. I just got the Bakura forest duel, which I always remembered to be one of my favorites, I wonder how it holds up.

    1. Rodrigo

      Rodrigo

We know obviously, but I still watch it dubbed because the voices are epic, and it's what I grew up it, it'd be weird to watch it subbed lol

    2. Shradow

      Shradow

Understandable. Dan Green and Eric Stuart are pretty boss, though personally I love Tsuda Kenjiro as Kaiba, and Joey's accent in the dub annoys me.

    3. M0B0X

      M0B0X

Wow! I'm re-watching DM too, subbed this time. Right now at the Joey vs. Mai duel in the Orichalcos Arc. My reason for watching it this time is not only nostalgia though, but to enjoy all those things that got censored in the dub.

  8. Assault Mode recently got some support, so I figured I would make a little Synchro Tuner for them, though you can also use this elsewhere for its last effect as well. So, when Synchro Summoned, you get to Special Summon any monster that mentions Assault Mode Activate from your hand, but additionally, if you control an Assault Mode monster, you get to Summon that monster from the Deck instead, making it both useful early game as well as later game. As a Synchro Tuner, the last effect becomes very useful, as it is able to Special Summon itself when used as Synchro Material for a Level 8 or higher monster, though it locks down the Extra Deck for Synchros only, but that shouldn't be a problem in a Assault Mode focused Deck anyway, or most Decks that like to Synchro Summon a lot in general.
  9. A random LINK-2 that allows you to look at a random card in your opponent's hand and banish it for a discard, and offers some protection too, that also moves it, in case you want to keep it around for longer.
  10. God of War:

Both the hardest and easiest one so far, as her moves are similar to earlier Valkyries. The dive attack sucks though, I feel like it's random if my dodge works, and the lava floor makes it even worse. Sprinting does help, but you don't always have the time.

  11. God of War:

I thought the last Valkyrie was hard, but man did this kick my ass. I think my main problem was the shield as she sometimes does a lunge attack, but I can't tell if it's gonna be the blinding one. Learned that guard break can stop the block though, so that helped a lot.

  12. This is all my Archetypes I have on YCM, in case the site goes down again. I also have them on Pastebin and other sites, but hey, let's test out how many I Archetypes I can fit into one thread, shall we? They are in order of newest to oldest, and I just copied the whole threads, in case I want to post that elsewhere at some point. Not all are here right now, since I don't want to copy paste hundreds of times, but I'll be updating these consistently. In case you want to check their threads, if YCM is still up, here's the full list: https://pastelink.net/mfo5 Finished! This was quite the thing to do, it's so many threads, and copy pasting has some issues attached to it, like images not working always, some weird spacing issues where there's a large space between lines, which takes a long time to fix, so I just said screw it. It was interesting to look back at some of my old cards though, there are some in here that I may want to remake or add to, since the game is so different from what it was back in 2014. I have more that will be forever lost to time, since they were on Dueling Network Forums and that shut down, and some I may have just missed somehow.
  13. I got Super Mario Oddysey for my birthday, just got it now since my mom lives far away, and now I am wondering, I still have Galaxy in my backlog, so which do I play first. Also, is it really a 50 hour game for completionists? That is crazy to me.

    1. Fusion

      Fusion

They're both really solid and offer different experiences. Both have the 64/Sunshine style of control but Galaxy messes with different physics and traditional power-ups whereas Odyssey lets you use the hat to do some creative platforming and then the capture mechanic to interact with the enemies and environment.

I'd say maybe Odyssey first because the game nails its presentation and its campaign is quicker. There's a shitton of moons to collect for completionists, but you don't need nearly that amount to complete the main game. I may be a little more biased since Odyssey is probably my favorite Mario game to date, but you can't go wrong with either. One other potential point in Galaxy's favor is you have more varied level design and worlds to explore. Not selling Odyssey short, but that one has a set amount of hub-worlds you explore just like in 64/Sunshine.

    2. mido9

      mido9

      hub worlds are overrated anyway

  14. Finished the first episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm just now, minor spoilers in here. So, I have watched Video Games Awesome's playthrough of the first game, and it was odd, because at first, I liked it and the people playing it liked it, but then as it continued, it had a lot of flaws, it was rather cliched, that the creators only had a vague understanding of teens and American culture, and didn't make much sense, and the ending didn't really feel satisfactory to either of us, but I still enjoyed watching them play it, and recently they played through the first episode of Life is Strange 2, and so far, that game seemed like a huge improvement in a lot of ways, and as they never played Before the Storm, and as it's on Xbox Game Pass, I gave it a go, and interestingly, I didn't really like how it started, but it got better and better, the whole backtalking mechanic is interesting, though maybe too easy so far, and at the end of the episode, I was surprised at how engaged I became. It may have some issues here and there, some of it felt like filler a lot of the time, but could be setting up for something later too, I feel conflicted on Chloe, obviously she is an angsty teen, and with that comes some negative qualities, but maybe they are not placed properly, but maybe that's the point, and then she ends up being nice and happy and having fun with others, helping others, which doesn't seem like what she would do, but I guess player agency can't help that, so that's weird. Still, I liked her more as it went on, especially when she actually contemplates things, how she has a moment with her mom that is genuine and how a teen would actually act, realizing that she is trying to do her best under the circumstances. There is a lot of good in here, and I feel like it's written much better than Life is Strange was, at least in retrospect, and as I haven't played it personally, that is probably a downside too, but yeah, I'm gonna play the other episodes since I enjoyed the first one, I think that they benefited from going away from the sci-fi stuff, though I would assume that there will be something there eventually, would be odd if they just left that out completely, but I guess I'll see.

    1. Thar

      Thar

That's pretty much my experience with this series. At first I wasn't that impressed, but something about the style and the feel of it kept me interested. Each episode I played, I kept getting more and more engaged in the story to the point where I was hooked. I've played every episode leading up to the first episode of Life is Strange 2 and while it indeed has many moments that seem flawed and cliche, it just has its own charm to it that makes it special.

That being said, I'm looking forward to when episode 2 comes out later this month.

  15. I have never watched the original YGO anime all the way through, I only got to somewhere in the Battle Kingdom arc, and I have said to myself that I would get around to it eventually, so gonna finally do it. I am watching the sub, since I have also never done that, and since I watched all the other series subbed, I figured it would make the most sense. Time for the first episode, back in 20 minutes.

    1. Merci

      Merci

Battle Kingdom? That's quite a way behind - hope you enjoy your watch yo!

    2. Zaziuma

      Zaziuma

Yeah, it was never fully dubbed in Danish I don't think, so missed out on a lot of the episodes, I watched a bit of GX, but I eventually lost interest and didn't come back until ZEXAL was halfway done. Then I watched all of that, GX and 5D, and by the time Arc-V was out, I was pretty much invested in the game completely.

Finished the first episode, man is it weird to actually just watch this show, I watched a bit of season 0 some time ago, it was quite rough to say the least, but surprisingly, the animation holds up quite well to this day, the voice acting is much more tolerable than the dub ever was, and while it has the melodrama, it doesn't seem as bad as I figured it would. Oh my god is it cute that the game has evolved so much that them talking about a Normal Monster as being powerful is in any way suppose to scare me. It's also crazy that for so long, I had lived with the reality that Kaiba brought out 3 Blue-Eyes White Dragons in one turn, when in fact, he brought them out on separate turns, and that he did in fact, not cheat during that duel at all. Well, except for of course not Tribute Summoning, but hey, neither did Yugi when he brought out his Gaia the Fierce Knight and Dark Magician, so guess they didn't have that yet. Funnily enough, Swords of Revealing Light only worked for the Blue-Eyes and not monsters brought out later, unlike the real game, not sure if that's going to be consistent to the show. Gonna take a bit to get used to the Japanese names, I wonder if Zuzu's name was inspired y Anzu in any way.

    3. Sleepy

      Sleepy

Tbh, I think season 0 is the censored form of the manga, then season 1 is a reboot that skipped the material of season 0 because they deemed season 0 too harsh to easily censor. And then another layer of censor was applied by 4kids. It's amusing in a way xD

Yeah Kaiba played 1 BEWD x turn and Yugi played defending chumps that the episode fast-forwarded to. In Duelist Kingdom Rules (and this is only ever explained in the manga) if your opponent did not play a monster during their turn and have no monsters on board (both of these conditions) you can actually attack directly, but it just never came up. It really enforced stalling cheap until you drew what you needed.

  16. A strange LINK-1 that Special Summons to your opponent's field. If a monster is Summoned to the zone it points to, it will negate its effects, and it gains 1000 ATK for each monster on the field whose effects are negated.
  17. You are always trusting, there are scenarios where a player has to trust that the opponent can activate a card that's hidden in their hand or Set, but wouldn't normally be able to know due to game mechanics, so it's not out of the question that Set cards can have counted turns as well. Well yes, that is not how it's suppose to work, though I suppose you could make it work that way too, but I wanted it to work immediately as it got out, since that's both for flavor, and to not have a monster that can just destroy things at any point, but only when it comes out first. I dunno, for the sake of gameplay it may be better, as Sleepy has said, it can be a problem sometimes.
  18. It does specify player turns, it's your turns, as it says, so to answer the first two questions, it would be 1 turn the turn you Set it and your opponent's turn when you can first activate it, then your next turn again it would be 2 turns. No, turn counting is an inherent process of the game, and thus revealing cards is not a part of that. It isn't necessary for you to show it, as each card is set on a specific turn, and both players know this, because Traps are not allowed to be activated the same turn they are Set. I can see how it could be experimental, but there are cards that count how long they have been on the field, like Blockman. There may not have been cards that count how long they were face-down, but I don't really think that it changes much regardless.
  19. I thought you couldn't banish a card for a cost if it's already set to banish itself. Is it different when it comes to Summoning costs like this, or whatever the correct term would be.
  20. A Trap monster that focuses on destroying things depending on how many of your turns it has been Set on the field. It's designed to be offensive if that's what you want, or destroying your own cards, the focus being on Artifacts mostly, due to this becoming a Level 5 monster. Additionally, since you may want this Set for a while, if it's destroyed while Set, it destroys a card on the field, so your opponent gotta be careful with what they blow up.
  21. I like Swallow's Nest as an option for Level 4s to turn into any Level you want. I didn't really think of it before, but it's a bit sad that it can't also be Level 4, since that would be a nice option to have too and it would be fun if the "other" was changed to zone 2 and 4, so you could have 5 options.
  22. Well, the name is strange, not sure what the TCG will do with it, but anyway, hurray another zone dependent monster! It's a fun thing to do, and this seems like it could be pretty useful for high Xyz Decks like Photons or Decks with a lot of different Levels like Synchro Decks.

  24. As I said, I cannot force people to do anything, and if people want to post a lot of questions, they can, and while I would personally probably not decide to answer 10 questions at a time, some people like you may want to do that, and that's great, because it's likely to happen. Also, could I post those links you provided in the first post? In a spoiler box, since those take up a bit of space. It's more likely people will read the first post rather than the second.
