The site does cost money each month to upkeep. I don't sell any data, nor do I run any ads - any support you can give to help with the upkeep of things would be greatly appreciated.
There is no max goal for this donation, nor and end point. The rough costs for the site are around 40/50 GBP each month give or take 10 either side depending on the month, there are periods at the start of the year where this does increase significantly due to renewals for the domain and SSL certificates that this site runs off.
The site will remain active and online for as long as I can maintain it. I'm not struggling financially (at least as much as some!) and can maintain this regardless.
As Anneliese dropped the statue, Jacklyn met eyes with her, not really sure why the girl did that. Of course, Jacklyn was hardly good at reading people and Anneliese having most of her face obscured did not help that either. Even then she could tell that there was something wrong with the girl, or at the very least she felt spooked in some capacity, but couldn't tell much beyond that. She tried to ask but, once more remembered that she too had half her face obscured and gave up as quickly as she began.
Thinking it'd be a waste to just leave the statue down there, Jacklyn swam back down to the depths of the sea floor. As she grabbed the statue she got that same funky feeling in her head again, though didn't bother dwelling on it. With the prize secured, the girl did another quick survey of the sea floor before determining there was no riches left to plunder. With her job done, the girl swam back up and nodded to Anneliese, before pointing upward and swimming back to the surface.
As she broke the surface of the water, the girl quickly made her way back to the land before taking off the gear that was on her. With her mouth uncovered the girl took in a deep breath. "Ah, the land!" Shaking her head, whipping her wet hair around like a dog, the girl took another breath before saying, "it's a good hting I took those swimming lessons back home because that was awesome! I always wanted to try going on an undersea adventure before but never had the gear for it." Her parents had also, repeatedly, warned her to not go into the water in Castelia which was its own problem.
The girl looked back to the woman who loaned them the gear in the first place, saying, "thanks for the great deal, we even got some treasure too!" The girl proudly held up her statue, whilst Cherry leaped out of the water, newly acquired sunglasses awkwardly worn on their face.
The girl had begun her trek back, running down the path she had already taken to get up to this point. The few zombies that she had ignored had seen fit to intercept her, yet the girl hardly any time to waste. Lana charged the one that had placed itself ahead of the other, hefting her axe up and swinging down to split its skull. As her axe cleaved through the head of the creature, continuing until it stopped in the creature's chest, the girl hefted the blade out before kicking the corpse back into the shambling corpse behind it.
Though the two's collision did little to deter the zombie the small moment of impact was all she needed. She brought her axe back and with one swift arc cleaved through the neck of the creature, decapacitating it in an instant and causing both now re-dead zombies to collapse to the ground. With the path clear, Lana began to run down once more before she got to the crossroads. While she was set to run down the final path, the bolt of light that streaked across the sky gave her a different idea.
"Well, I guess someone else took care of that." That was fine by her, at least, it just meant that she had to waste less time on the small guys and instead go for the much larger shadow creature. The girl grimaced at the prospect of doing that, but knew there was no other way out of this hellish forest. "The sooner I get there, the sooner it dies, the sooner I get paid. The sooner I get paid. The sooner I get paid," the girl repeated this phrase over and over again to psyche herself up before shouting, "alright, I'm coming back for you!" And then charged back down the path to get to the Nightwalker.
