The site does cost money each month to upkeep. I don't sell any data, nor do I run any ads - any support you can give to help with the upkeep of things would be greatly appreciated.

There is no max goal for this donation, nor and end point. The rough costs for the site are around 40/50 GBP each month give or take 10 either side depending on the month, there are periods at the start of the year where this does increase significantly due to renewals for the domain and SSL certificates that this site runs off.

The site will remain active and online for as long as I can maintain it. I'm not struggling financially (at least as much as some!) and can maintain this regardless.

    • One of Jacklyn’s friends was staring at Quinn, and so Quinn stared back in kind. She challenged Quinn’s ethereal nature in a manner slightly different than most, but Quinn was undeterred. “Have you heard the old stories?” Quinn said. “‘There once were Pokémon that became very close to humans. There once were humans and Pokémon that ate together at the same table.’” Quinn’s recitation was rote, but he made sure to put extra emphasis on the last of the triptych: “‘It was a time when there existed no differences to distinguish the two.’” She could not help but smile. “Apologies, but I am from Sinnoh. Perhaps you simply have a different way of looking at things.” It continued staring. There was a tradition, of course, for two Pokémon trainers who locked eyes to do battle, though the woman was not immediately more hostile than any other of the doubters that had come before her. Quinn supposed it was their job to ask the question, then. “If we are not friends, and we are not enemies, unaligned so much as to even barely acknowledge each other’s physical natures, I suppose we must then fall back on the universal customs of the age. Though I would prefer a reciprocated introduction, or, failing that, a moment of respite to recover from earlier conflict, I am for you all the same.” Just from the shift in grip from Cassiopeia’s hand on hers, Quinn could tell that she was ready, and though their relative familiarity with Pisces was low, Quinn was sure that he was up for anything. Normandie was likely still exhausted, but would participate if asked. Whatever the woman decided to do, Quinn would be ready for it. But before things could progress further, one of the other members of the encounter broke the tension with a food offering, and only then did Quinn realize how long it had been since Quinn had eaten. Ghosts did not eat much as a rule, and the harrowing descension of the lighthouse had left Quinn with little appetite, but Quinn did envision both faer parents and doctor worrying about zir, so he resolved to take the opportunity they were given. “Of course ghosts eat,” Quinn said. “Why would people leave offerings in graveyards if they were not to be consumed?”
    • An alternate history. It's 2005 again, shortly after SJC Indianapolis (the event Goat Format is based on). Instead of Cybernetic Revolution being the next set to come out though, it's another set called Pharaoh's Insight. Sets also come out much slower now, giving players the time to hone strategies and keep playing the cards they love and cherish without losing relevance quite so easily. The Goal Now that it's been 6 years, I've experienced a lot more of Goat Format, and my game design philosophy has changed a bit, I have decided to start working on a brand-new, improved, and much easier to jump into version of my Hindsight Format. A format that expands upon Goat Format with a new banlist, new cards, and even new rules, but remains fundamentally the same sort of gameplay expected from Goat Format. Expand on strategies and card types that are considered to be weak or unplayable, while also limiting the number of generically good cards so players will be more incentivized to build a theme. New Cards The following cards are from the initial set of the format: Pharaoh's Insight. Every 6 months, a new 30 card set will be released into the format with cards suggested by players, with cards ranging from those just wanted for aesthetic purposes, those to boost niche or casual strategies, and those meant to help push weak decks into a more meta status. New Rules While the rules will generally remain the way they are for Goat Format, such as priority rules and period-accurate rulings, all cards newly added to the format will use their current card text and rulings except where contradicted by Goat Format. However, certain rules and rulings have the potential to be altered in the future, as we will be acting as UDE ourselves in this alternate history format! This means we could potentially have our own "Master Rules" to improve the game down the line. Currently, there are only 3 rules changes: - Due to the constraints of online simulators, deck size will be limited to 60 cards and the Fusion Deck will be limited to 15 cards. - Twin-Headed Behemoth is a hard once per duel effect, meaning only a single copy can use its effect. - Players can play 1 copy total of 1 "Legacy Card" (name pending change) in their deck. This bypasses the rules for Forbidden cards. The legacy cards are Change of Heart, Dark Hole, Monster Reborn, Ring of Destruction, Snatch Steal, Ring of Destruction, and Witch of the Black Forest. The Forbidden / Limited List The following Forbidden/Limited list is currently in use for the format. It has the possibility of being changed every 6 months when a new set is release, or when emergency action is needed. Cards that are altered from the usual Goat Format banlist are included at the end to help players coming in from Goat to easily read.
