One game that E3 gave me a new perspective on is definitely Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The story trailer revealing that there's a 5 year timeskip where things go to shit and the three houses seem to be enemies with the teacher character having the ability to see and I assume act across both points in time makes me really interested in the story. I didn't realize the school aspect of the game wouldn't be maintained throughout the whole thing.

They say they can't make everything transferable over concerns of development time and balance, but I could see them maybe patching in and making more transferable later down the line with updates.

They've said it's being fleshed out enough that it is its own standalone game. So like, a ~20-30 hour game if I had to guess? I'm not expecting a super duper long 60-80 hour JRPG or anything. We've heard for awhile it was going to be episodic, and the conference combined with the game descriptions for it saying "the first entry in a multi-part saga" we know for sure now. I was honestly already expecting Midgar to cover the first game since there's so much they could do with it.

I'm super pumped about this. I only ever played the first few hours of the original (I had been playing it on Steam but when the remake was announced I decided I'd wait for it, though of course back then I didn't realize it'd take so long), not even all the way past Midgar, but I'm still excited. The combat looks fantastic. The mix of classic ATB with more action in the middle is cool, and I like the option for Kingdom Hearts-like shortcuts and how you can switch so smoothly between party members. The Guard Scorpion fight looked sick as well. I can't even imagine how amazeballs the Weapon fights will be (partially due to not knowing how they were in the original). And I dunno about you guys but having the first game be all about Midgar and fleshing it out is really cool. It's the only place I'm really familiar with from the original game, but it's such a cool and massive place I don't doubt they can make an amazing game just focusing on it. Seeing more of characters like Jessie, Wedge, and Biggs will be nice. It'll also be really cool to see how the story changes, for example in the original Cloud was always haunted by Sephiroth and had his visions and whatever, but you didn't learn about Sephiroth as a character until much later. Now that everyone knows who Sephiroth is, they can go into this from that perspective and so can inject Sephiroth directly into the early story like we see in the trailer. Plus, I'm totally expecting the next game in this story to be next gen, because all the open world stuff that opens up after Midgar is definitely gonna require some next gen tech if just Midgar is already going to look this good. If they weren't going to split the game up and were instead to do it all in one massive remake, we probably wouldn't be able to expect it until like 2025 on the PS5 Pro or something. But I like this basis they've got going with Midgar.

I've never really been one for maintaining my Pokemon across games, either. I have perfect IV shiny Pokemon I've bred that stopped really mattering to me when I started playing the next game. Besides, I haven't touched my Pokemon Bank account in forever so anything I did have on there is surely lost by now anyways. Also, first Sonia and now Nessa? Nintendo on top of their waifu game for this one, I'm sure there's countless fanart already.

My favorite conferences were definitely Square Enix's and Nintendo's. Though Square's was basically just for FFVII, which was absolutely amazing, but the rest really slogged in the middle and I felt what they showed of Avengers was disappointing to end with. But Nintendo gave me Dragon Quest and Banjo for Smash, new Animal Crossing looks dope, and I'm so pumped for BotW sequel.

It honestly looks super dope, my own personal issue would be my poor internet. If I were to get better internet and use it, I'd definitely opt for Stadia Base. 1080p, 60fps, stereo sound is enough for me and it would mean no monthly subscription fee.

The addition of Drednaw means I can have an all-turtle/tortoise Pokemon team since they're my favorite animals. Blastoise, Torkoal, Torterra, Carracosta, Turtonator, and Drednaw. Also, the more I look at Dynamaxing, the more I like it. It's flashy as hell, but also simple yet effective, and can easily be applied to every single Pokemon unlike Mega Evolutions. It also allows for more interesting strategy, imo. With Mega Evolutions for the most part you just pop it and go and it lasts the whole battle, meanwhile Z-Moves are largely just when you wanna one shot something or get a huge boost, and so there's not much depth to either. I'm assuming we'll have a versus mode that allows for Dynamaxing and that'll be super fun. I'm also super curious if audience members at the Gyms have to sign a waiver or something, cuz if you go to watch one of those fights you're just asking to die. I'm leaning more towards Shield after thinking about it. Zamazenta is a way cooler name, and when the sword/shield is powered up I find Zacien's sword seems a bit overdone, especially since the pommel, guard, and blade get all big but the grip remains the same size to fit in its mouth and that looks silly and bothers me.

The thing I'm looking forward to a lot will be further Smash DLC. The 2nd fighter pack while almost assuredly be announced there, maybe even a tease for the 3rd. Also, holy fuck I can't wait to see new Animal Crossing.

I often get a good laugh out of Pepsi Man stuff. And you're right, dem solos doe. 9/10 Bowser-related stuff always has such sick music. And MK8 has legit one of my favorite video game soundtracks ever.

I only recently checked out The Promised Neverland's anime so until now I didn't know UVERworld did the OP, I love their music.
