  2. Octavia»»————- ♡ ————-«« The strange pair being all willing to lead them off towards the Dread Knight should have raised more alarms. It should've scared her at least a tiny bit. More than anything though, she just felt antsy. They were actually on the right path, at least, hopefully they were on the right path. Whether or not things would actually go well... "Hey, hey, Not-Octopus," She said. "How do you think we should summon Dread Knight? The easy way or the fun way?" Octavia blinked for a moment, a little mumble escaping her as she shook her head quickly, "Morgan is fine, uh... The fun way?" It wasn't so much an answer as it was her begging for a bit of clarification on what they meant, but it seemed like they weren't gonna get an answer on that one. The boy who escorted them seemed ready to pull out something... Wait, no, he did pull out something. Two somethings. Two very spooky somethings. "Yeah, yeah, all we gotta do is pump 'em full of lead and be on our way!" The girl said. "Wait, what?!" Octavia quickly scanned the area around her, finding the best spots to try and duck for cover if needed, especially considering that the robbers seemed ready to fire back. Her eyes widened as the fighting began, she knew this was just the way of life in Hearthome, but she hadn't expected this to be the way to get into contact with the Dread Knight. But sure enough... After a rather dramatic appearance through what appeared to be fog, there he was. "What business do you have with me?" The others seemed ready to jump to answer, while Octavia was busy composing herself from the shootout that had startled her nerves a bit. Her hand gripped at the hem of her jacket tighter, the girl taking a deep breath before she composed herself enough to speak up after the others had said their pieces, "W-We were told that out of anyone we might be able to get into contact with, you were the one most likely to be able to give us any direction towards the cult." She paused for a moment, thinking back on the directions that the group had been given. Blues wanted them to convince this guy to join their cause, but what exactly was him joining? Was giving them the directions to the cult enough? Did they need to bring him back to the base? Really, she had no idea on what she should even really say... "...But more than that, we would like your help in shutting it down. We don't know how deep it goes, if it's confined to just Hearthome even. We could use all the help we can get."

  10. Octavia»»————- ♡ ————-«« "Here. It's important to stay hydrated... 'specially after drinking that sugary crap." Octavia jumped slightly, before frowned for a moment as she heard that coming from behind her, but... She started to laugh after a moment, taking the water bottle with a little sigh, "Maybe you're right. I just kinda grabbed the first thing that was familiar," She popped open the bottle and took a drink from it, reaching into her pocket as she did. She pulled out a small candy bar, starting to open it up as she took a glance back at Raijin, "You grabbed plenty of snacks in there, right? We might be here a while... And who knows when we might get a decent meal." She said that very nonchalantly, waving the candy bar in the air beside her as she did. Her eyes glanced off to the side as she brought the candy bar back to her mouth, biting off the end of it as she did. She let out a little laugh, "...I don't think it's you I gotta worry about though, the other girl with us, uh... What's her name, Kiyoko? I dunno if she really got what we said about grabbing snacks or not." She shook her head for a moment, waiting for the others to come on out of the store, before standing again with a sigh. There was a sound coming from behind the group once the door was shut, but Octavia had already started taking a few steps forward, pointing ahead of her with the bottle that Raijin had given to her. "We better get going. The sooner we get to the Arena, the better." »»————- ♡ ————-«« The trip to the Arena was thankfully pretty quiet. That was to be expected. The homeless people weren't interested in picking fights they didn't need, the roads were barely occupied at all, partially because of the state of them... It wasn't that uncommon to find people peeking out at them as they traveled through the city, thankfully they didn't have much of an issue with anyone trying to stop them from continuing on. The Arena was exactly like Octavia remembered it. It was clean, it was... Orderly. Still segmented, still a bitter reminder to her about what the rest of the city was lacking now, but familiar. She could feel the eyes on their group from here as they walked in, people were definitely in groups here in Hearthome, that fact never really changed it seemed. Octavia made sure that the hood of her jacket was still properly pulled up and over her head as she took a small glance around the Arena. The sights of people dueling, sitting on their own, indulging in their own desires. It was all what she knew before she had been pulled away for the underground project. It was almost a little relaxing to be back in the Arena, even if she wasn't doing exactly what she had done before. Her eyes trailed along the rest of the gathered groups, before noticing a small duo out of the corner of her eye. They didn't seem to be doing anything... Except watching their own little group. She raised an eyebrow, the others had at least been going about their own business while looking at the newcomers, but these two seemed pretty focused on them. She started to turn towards them, holding her hands out on either side of her body, empty of anything as she took a step forward, "Hey there? You two need something? Maybe we can help each other." "Yeah, yeah, we need somethin' outta ya!" The girl stated, a wide, unsettling grin on her face. "No we don't," the boy shot, his mask muffling his voice. "Sorry, my friend here is... Special," "Awww... But don't you wanna know?" The girl asked, draping an arm around the guy. "Ya see... You look like someone we know, sunshine," the girl addressed Octivia. Octavia blinked for a moment, bringing a hand up to her chin as she tilted her head, "I can't say you're super familiar to me... Alright, I'll bite. What do you want from me?" "I want nothing," The boy grumbled. "I just wanna know if you used to be in a gang or somethin'!" The girl admits. "You look a lot like a girl that the gang took in after a lot things happened to her Pops... She disappeared like... 2 years ago though. Always figured she ended up in the bottom of the river, like her name! Octopus!" "That was not her name," The boy clarified. "It's not like you knew her real name," The girl jabbed back. "We were low ranking grunts and all." Octavia tensed up for a moment as she tilted her head back slightly, focused on what they were saying for a moment as she did. She shook her head a tiny bit, "No, can't say that rings any bells..." She winced for a moment at the mention of octopi, that was a new one for her. "I can keep an eye out for her, why're ya'll looking for her, though? It's normal for people to go missing around here. Might suck, but..." She gave a small shrug as she spoke again, her voice getting serious for a moment as she did. "Eh, it's just one of those things, ya know?" The girl admitted. "Thought she died, and then you waltz in, looking like her! Makes a person curious, right?" "Somethin' like that, yeah," the boy shrugged. "Honestly, it don't concern us anymore. We're outta the gang and savin' up to get outta this hellhole," "Speakin' of this hellhole," the girl piped up. "You and your buddies are lookin' a little rich for someone in this city. You all from outta town?" She let out a little laugh as she nodded her head, "Right, I guess that's fair. I'm sorry if that brought up any bad memories, if you were close to her or anything," She rubbed at her shoulder for a moment, taking a small glance back over her shoulder, "Eh, us? I was born here, but my parents moved us out before the riots started hitting. They had work that moved them around a lot, but I heard about what happened here..." She shook her head a tiny bit, stopping herself from mentioning the others... Natsumi might be from Hearthome, but ultimately it was up to her if she wanted to divulge that to people... "We're here looking for someone. The Dread Knight. If ya can point us in the right direction, I would appreciate that." "What? Are you craz---," the boy started but the girl sprung up excitedly, smiling widely and bouncing in place. "Oh, we can do better than that!" She said, obviously excited. "We can take you right to him!" Octavia's eyes widened as she gripped the hem of her jacket, "Wait, really? I was prepared to have to do a whole lot more digging." She reached into her pocket and pulled out a few candy bars of various types, from pure chocolate to one with coconut, "Want one? I'll repay ya better than this, I swear." She glanced at the boy though, giving him a small sheepish grin, "We might be a little crazy, but it's our only option. Do you two mind waiting while I let the others with me know?" The girl smiled even wider somehow as she grabbed the chocolate. "Don't mind at all love!" She said as she bit into the bar, despite the wrapper being on it. "We'll be right here," "Whoopie de frizz," the boy muttered as he adjusted his hood, refusing any chocolate. Octavia nodded to them as she quickly turned back to the group, a grin on her face. Despite the obvious good mood she was wearing on it though, her voice was calm and even kind of low as she moved to them, "Alright, dunno if any of you were listening in or not, but we might have a lead. Those two back there claim to be able to take us to you-know-who. I'm going. You're welcome to come along with me or go look for the cult. I'd appreciate some backup in case this is some kind of ambush, but I'm gonna take any lead we've got right now."
  11. Octavia »»————- ♡ ————-«« "Last I heard, yeah, but I don't listen for that kinda shit," the cashier admitted. That's what Octavia wanted to hear, at least, sorta. It wasn't a perfect confirmation, but at least it seemed like the Arena hadn't been messed with while she was gone. That meant they had a lead of some sort. All the duelists that gathered there would likely be able to shed some light on what they were looking for... Whether it was the Dread Knight or some hint of those cultists they were looking for. Octavia groaned out as her drink was suddenly snatched from her hands, her cheeks puffing out for a moment as she glared over at the new arrivals. She should've been prepared for this, but with so much time passing, she had slightly forgotten this was a common thing for a moment. At least, she wasn't expecting this to be their introduction back to the city. "is this a custom or something?" Welcome to Hearthome life." Octavia shrugged her shoulders slightly, "It's how things go here. You get used to it eventually. Everyone grab stuff ya want while you've got the chance." She waved her hand to the others as she returned back to the coolers, grabbing two Panta's this time as she made her way down the snack isle. She stuffed an assortment of candies into her jacket's pockets, opening it up to reveal a few extra ones, which she promptly filled up with some bags of chips. She grabbed one last bag as she made her way back to the front of the store. "Get what you want. We're on a bit of a time crunch, after all." "Alright, I got what I need. Let's get going, I think the Arena should be our next stop. People gather there and it's usually pretty civil, at least... By our standards." She waved her hand as she made her way towards the door, not giving that odd pairing that stole her original drink a second glance. She popped open one of the drinks she grabbed, taking a drink from it as she made her way outside of the store, waiting for the others to join her. She stretched out her legs, a little sigh escaping her as she glanced in the direction of the Arena. She fidgeted with the hem of her jacket for a moment, her fingers pinching at it as she rolled it between them.
  12. The Castform Only Run of Platinum is going well so far.

Mars took two tries because Castform needed some more bulk.

Then Fantina took two cause of the Duskull burning my girl at the start of the battle.

But other than that, hardly any troubles at all.

  13. Octavia »»————- ♡ ————-«« Octavia winced a little bit as she saw the sudden rush of people running out of the bank, a low cough escaping her as she shook her head quickly. "O-Okay, that's definitely not good. We might want to try and stay low, just in case there's more..." She paused for a moment, skeletal flaming horse riders were definitely not on the list of normal sights, and it definitely got her to pause as she pondered the next best move in her head. It made sense to try and get more information about what the hell was going on there... "Fancy another shopping trip, Octavia?" Octavia just paused, a confused look crossing her face for a moment, "You really wanna go to the store when that just happened? Alright by me, just... Making sure." She shrugged her shoulders a tiny bit as Natsumi led their way into the store, a small sigh escaping her as she did. Every part of her body was screaming that they should follow that break in if they wanted to get the best results... Or maybe that was just her being a bit antsy. She honestly couldn't tell at this point. Her hands slipped into her jacket as she nodded the other two with them, motioning for them to enter the store as well, "If you need a drink or something, feel free to... Grab something, I guess. Just don't stand out." She entered the store behind Natsumi, watching as the girl made her way towards the poor employee who was working at the counter. Holding a stable job in this city had to be a death sentence practically. She watched the few people who seemed to be meandering their way along the aisles, her attention focused on them for a moment as she mumbled to herself, "It's just quiet in here..." She shook her head a tiny bit, she was starting to get lost in doubting things. She grabbed a Panta out of one of the cases near the back of the store, taking a little glance at the other shoppers. Whether any of them actually were here to buy things might've been up in the air, but they at least had the chance to look around and see if anyone of note was hanging around... And it really didn't look like there was. Everyone in the building looked normal, at least, as normal as you look in a town like Hearthome. She brought herself towards the front once again, joining up with Natsumi as she shook her head a tiny bit and tilted it back towards the residents in the shop, no one looked too out of place to her. She turned her attention back to the man at the counter, setting her drink down as she did, "...Is the Arena is still going strong? I'd like to stop by there again. I just wanna know if it's worth the trip."
  14. With Gen 8 fully out and Pokemon fully revealed to us, it seems like a good time to do some ranking and stuff to me. I recommend mentioning how you're sorting them around, for me it was purely based on designs and not movesets/using them/or competitive potential. Just designs and that stuff. https://tiermaker.com/create/all-new-gen-8-pokemon-including-galarian-forms-214613 Shhh, I didn't forget anything.
  15. i would say i have you covered but that one is a secret ? get outta here this is a no-mod zone #ModsnotGods #FreePornZone
  16. It was a while ago and I just never mentioned it, but I managed to find a Chulane Brawl Pre-con deck at a good price with everything in it and that was nice.

  17. Octavia »»————- ♡ ————-«« "Your concerns aren't unfounded, Dread Knight probably will not join you, but at this moment, it's better to aim for the stars and miss than it is to lay on the ground and do nothing. He most likely won't attack you all." Octavia glanced at the ground for a moment as she rubbed at her chin lightly, it wasn't really fair to be too harsh on them for this one, cause they weren't wrong necessarily. It was better to make an attempt than to just give up before even trying. It still didn't seem like the best plan though, to hope that this guy would agree to help them. At least there was a sort of backup plan to scout and try to find the cult. Octavia just propped her head up on her hand for a moment, considering how they could go about this as the rest of the discussion seemed to pass on without her input, not that she really had much to add now. The beep on her duel disk did catch her attention, the map of the city causing her to narrow her eyes a tiny bit as she looked at it. Sure, two years had passed since she had been able to see what Hearthome was like before, but all the gang territory lines were drastically different, it was going to be awkward for her, without a doubt. Nothing that she had been used to before was going to apply now. "Well, that's all we got time for now! Here's some boxed lunches that Barbatos kindly took the time to make for you all, but in case that isn't enough," Mr. E walked over to Shannon, handing her a black credit card. He then spun around, handing Octavia a white one. "If you need something, these cards should help. Don't spend them all in one place~! Good luck to you all today!" Octavia blinked at the card being offered to her, a little look on her face as she coughed lightly. She wasn't sure how useful this sort of thing would be for them, considering the state that Hearthome was in... But she took the card anyway, giving Mr. E a small, appreciative smile as she did, "Thank you. I'll make sure that we don't spend too much of it in the first place." She nodded her head to the strange, strange man as she took the card, before standing up as she took a deep breath. Time to go. The truck ride was a little unnerving. It didn't seem safe, going to the city in such an... Open manner, anything could go wrong with them exposed like this. She knew that Blues and Mr. E probably wouldn't put them in such foolish danger, so it was probably safe, but that didn't mean her nerves weren't firing all the same. It had been a long time since she had properly been in the city, she had no idea how things were faring, where the most dangerous points of the city were anymore, so much changes in a few years really. The truck came to a sudden stop, causing her to wobble in her place as she snapped to attention. The gloomy city wasn't much different than what she remembered on the surface, but she knew all the mechanics underneath were changing all the time. "We're here. I'll be here, waiting for you all." She closed her eyes as she brought her hood up and over her head, just enough to hide her hair from the outside world, standing up quickly as she took a little look around. It was a quick, to the point scan of the area around them, it didn't seem like anyone was lurking too closely by, and she stepped out of the truck and gave Barbatos a nod. "Home sweet home, I guess," Octavia stifled a small laugh as she shrugged her shoulders, "It's not the best place, but it's home." She glanced towards the others as she tapped at her cheek, "...I don't like splitting up yet. Not until we have some sort of lead," Her voice was notably sterner than it had been while they were back at the base, lowering in pitch, as if she was trying to keep it lowered intentionally, "Once we get some idea of where to go for both, then we can think about splitting up. But it's a big city and even if we comb over it in two separate groups, it wouldn't change much. Stick together and be ready for the worst." She rubbed at her cheek lightly, as if she was reconsidering what she had just said, "Though, if we gotta split up, this is where I would do it. Two of us start with the store. Occasionally people will check on them for missed supplies if they've been raided, we can try and see if anyone is doing that... Or maybe squatting there," She made a little motion towards the bank as well, "And if that's functional, we should see what's going on there. They might have info too. So the other two can check there and we can just meet up back here."
  18. For a lot of things. Especially YCM.
  19. Generally, I try to. Games like Skyrim where the entire point is procedurally generated content? Not so much. I did 100% Binding of Isaac Rebirth and Afterbirth, never got the DLC past that, so roguelikes aren't out of the question. Uhhh, platformers/collect-a-thons are the other big one that I absolutely try to 100%. Currently I'm playing Luigi's Mansion 3 and that one is on the fast track to my attempts of 100% completion.
  20. every time someone says bird, birb or any variant of it, it posts the bird emoji ?
  21. Work In Progress still Couldn't work the character into a state I was happy with, won't be joining.
  22. Tentative interest while I wait to see what the full thread looks like.
  23. Octavia »»————- ♡ ————-«« The loud sound that echoed through the facility was more than enough to wake up Octavia, her hair falling down in front of her face as she mumbled softly and rubbed at her eyes. It wasn't easy for her to really get active right away once she was out of Hearthome, without having to worry from the chaos of the city, she didn't have that drive to get up and get active immediately. But that noise was almost enough to get her to jolt up like in the past. She stumbled to her feet quickly as she started to get dressed, either not caring that Shannon was in the room, or suitably distracted from that fact as she pulled on her clothing for the day. She tied her hair up behind her head as she took a deep breath, scrambling out of the room before even looking back as she ran out, ready to head down for breakfast and possibly explanations. »»————- ♡ ————-«« "Good morning, Please, sit down. I'll explain what we're doing today as you all eat," Octavia didn't need to be told twice for that, she was already working on piling up a plate full of various foods and goodies for her to nibble on as busy started up. It wouldn't do any good for her to be caught thinking about serious matters on an empty stomach anyway. "Today, we're going to be doing the leg work, looking for those blood ritualists," The map itself zoomed into two different cities. "The two cities we're tackling are Turbo City and Hearthome," Hearthome. She hadn't expected to hear that name so soon, she figured they wouldn't be dealing with that... Problem until much later. It was going to be hard to restore any sense of normality to a city so downtrodden at this point. But she kept an open mind as she listened to the plan being set forward, well... At least she planned on it, but they started with Turbo City and she wasn't on the team for that particular location. She hummed a little bit to herself as she nibbled on her breakfast, but a growing pit in her stomach was slowing her appetite just a bit. "As for Hearthome, we're sending Kiyoko, Natsumi, Octavia, Raijin." Natsumi was good. Octavia didn't know any of them particularly well, but Natsumi and her had a similar goal in mind. The other two... Raijin was a bit of a wild card and she had no idea what to expect with Kiyoko... And there was also the fact she had no idea if either of them knew what Hearthome was truly like now. She could ease them into it if they did, but... Who knows what had changed since she had started with the program. Her fingers curled a bit tighter around her silverware as she took a deep breath. The man shown in the picture didn't look familiar to her exactly, but someone growing up in Hearthome was hard pressed to not be able to take a guess at who it was. The rumors preceded him really, the Dread Knight... "I'm aware such a thing likely won't be up to date, but can the group going into Hearthome receive a map of the city? Ideally, I'd like one that outlines which territories are under the controls of which gangs." It wasn't a bad idea, having a map, but that was hardly the concern that was on Octavia's mind. She drummed a finger on the table lightly, a little mumble escaping her as she shook her head, before speaking up. "...You really think we can find him, let alone convince him to join us? Gang members speak of him as if he's someone to be afraid of, what are the chances he'll listen to a buncha kids?" Octavia set her silverware down as she leaned forward a tiny bit, propping her head up on her hand, elbow resting on the table as she did. "I've heard the rumors about this guy, he's supposedly dangerous. I've heard from older members of the gang that he was scary and not to be approached. They never told me exactly what he did, they stopped talking when they found me eavesdropping, so it had to be bad. Are we really going to send us after him?" She frowned for a moment as he looked around, "Am I the only one who thinks this might be a little bit of a waste of time? I get scoping out the city and seeing the state of things there, but if we're going in with a task like this, we might be setting ourselves up to fail. Do we have a back up idea if this goes south?"
  24. when did you become such a cow fanatic
  25. Maaan that's definitely true, I'm glad someone else gets to see that. I would say that isn't appropriate, but that would be a total lie.
