Blake 312 Posted December 25, 2019 With the end of the decade upon us, many sites and personalities are making lists of the most impactful, their favorite, the most beautiful, etc. games of the decade. Needless to say, these lists are, as a rule of thumb, hot garbage that pretends to be objective when they are anything but. So, let's embrace subjectivity! What's your game of the decade? There are all sorts of different criteria you can use. Those listed above are good ones, but you could place value on something even beyond them, so I'm curious to see what everyone's Top Game of 2010-2019 is. Nico 116 Posted December 25, 2019 Oho! When I first saw GameXplain doing this 12 days ago, I really tried to give this some thought. I am going to have to say Mario Maker. The touch screen level creation. The way the developers brought their own current way of designing levels to the players. The community. The content creators that are able to play so much of the same single player game without technically altering it themselves. The hundreds of hours I played myself. I would say SMM2 is better because it added a good few things that are very significant, but there just will not be that impact anymore. And as intuitive as some level creation changes are, it isn't as simple, and my best set up is using both a controller and the touch screen, for reals. I'm still not a creator type, though, and I can still get so much out of it. Since I'm not budging on the sequel also being my #2, I've given #3 to Super Mario Odyssey for giving such absolute life to a 3D platformer for me. Well, I mean, if youre measuring for objectivity or impact it would just be 200 lists of minecraft, COD BO2, fortnite, league of legends, pubg, overwatch, undertale rdr, and so on flavor of the month and trendsetters, so just saying "the one you like the most" is best. For me it's Dissidia 012 by a bit, then disgaea 5 complete, persona 3 portable, dark souls 2, dota 2, Granblue Fantasy, isaac, rune factory 4, undertale and bastion. PUBG, Overwatch, Undertale, and so on. Despite the impact. As well as Shovel Knight, Meatboy, Isaac, and more. That's why it bugs me so bad that they claim objective. DragonSage 52 Posted December 25, 2019 I gotta go with the Undertale crowd if I'm gonna be 100% honest and pick one. Character depth and emotional resonance have become some of the most important things I look for in a game thanks to it.

LordCowCow 840 Posted December 26, 2019 I...I....I don't know. My memory makes it tough to really....remember what games were this decade and I know that sounds silly. It's hard for me to categorize things by year. I think I'd have to say Fire Emblem: Awakening since that sorta gave another breath of life to a franchise that was having a rocky time especially in the US. Summer Darj 292 Posted December 28, 2019 (edited) I vote for Mario Kart 8. Had really fun times playing it with my friends and family. The update it got in the Deluxe version for Switch made it even better. Was tempted to nominate Smash Bros for Wii U since Ultimate is too recent and haven't played it as much as Wii U version, but then realized the entire decade is split by 3 different Smash Bros. games. Besides, Mario Kart 8 was and is more effective at bringing family and friends together to play. Edited December 29, 2019 by Darj
Thar 502 Posted December 29, 2019 Honestly not sure. A few stand out in terms of what I most enjoyed as well as what I considered the most significant, but I haven't really been as into gaming as I used to be. That being said, I'd say Yoko's Island Express takes the cake for me, if not just for hitting my current pinball obsession while being an overall adorable, fun, and beautiful indie game. As for my personally most significant release this year, I'll throw in CTR Nitro-Fueled for being one of the best remakes ever made (that I've played.)
